Todd Black Who? Blink34 New Spokesperson for Casey Anthony Defense Baez Law Firm, Part 1

Posted by BOC Staff | "Todd Black",Jose Baez | Tuesday 27 January 2009 8:20 pm

Blink34, the new spokesperson for The Baez Law firm statement:

“.. Mr. Baez would like everyone to know his Client is a Hot mess of a human and baby killer. You  morons are complete suckers if you think he gives a rats *tail* what happens to Casey Anthony,  and he would like you to know he has already contracted the purchase of a BIGGER boat than  Geraldo’s, but will not be sailing on it shirtless.  He would appreciate all of you continuing to go  about your business while he leads his Client to her death, costs the state of Florida millions,  and fills out his Onyx card application …” (Blink34)

Pick up the jaws, I am not really the new spokesperson for Jose Baez, defense attorney of record to Casey Anthony. But, I could be. Apparently anyone can, it is protected by the First Amendment Free speech clause according to Mr. Baez’s attorney, Mr. Timothy Chinaris and Peter Tillman, President Press Corp Media

Strangely enough, although Baez allows Todd Black to make well over 300 statements on behalf of his office, both in the form of press releases and live and recorded interviews,  he states in his response to the inquiry by the Florida Bar that Black is not his spokesperson, he was unaware and did not participate in any of his releases or contribute to his comments representing his office.
OOPS. Must have  forgotten this little alfresco chit chat (VIDEO 4:01 mark) with the press.

Apparently the Florida Bar association is only permitted to evaluate the evidence submitted with the complaint, or Ms. Clark does not watch Channel 9 nightly, so the investigation by the FBA has been dropped.  Presumably we should expect to hear of Mr. Baez plans to file civil action for defamation against Mr. Black toot – sweet, right? Wrong.

“..In our 34 years of working with attorneys on high pressure cases, never have we witnessed  such disgusting media conduct, and as Press Corps Media continues its proud work in behalf of The Baez Law Firm on Casey Anthony matters, all we can hope for is that reporters and News  Directors try to remember that ETHICS AND PROFESSIONALISM is what was taught in journalism  school, not blood-thirsty ratings…” Todd Black

Yes, you are actually reading an excerpt from a PCM release where Black reiterates he is working on behalf of the firm, do not adjust your screen or swear off the martini.
Here’s a thought. Remember Black’s live flub on CNN with Mike Galanos which predates the inquiry to the bar, October 16, to be precise?

…”This is a very serious case involving the loss of the life of a little girl …”

If there is determined to be any prior knowledge on the part of the defense via Dominic Casey as to Caylee’s remains where they were ultimately found, would it be a stretch to consider that perhaps Black had inside knowledge and his flub was based on something he KNEW?

To invoke or to not invoke, that is the question.  Not any more according to all parties, Black has no standing for privilege in this case. I say worth a sit down for OCSO, no?

Has anyone ever seen THIS Todd Black? Does he even exist as a true media spokesperson? If so, he needs to get in another line of business as so far he has only added to the embarrasment and bumbling of Baez, and that’s a tall order.

  2. HOPE says:

Don’t you just love those ‘slick Willy’ types?

Willy takes credit for everything you do…
Bills ya out at $250 an hour,
    while he pays you $25.
    When the work is good,
Willy brags about what a good client you are.
He wouldn’t trust your work to any one else.
When Willy messes up, he blames it on his people. But, when his people mess up,
    he doesn’t, even, know them…

    The Florida Bar Association:

Better wise up or this trial is going to cost the State of Florida twice as much as it should…

You don’t need THAT kind of publicity!

Will the REAL Jose Baez, please Stand Up!

An unprecidented jailhouse funeral…Holy Smokes! That will be the DAY the possible/potential murderer gets to have a service behind bars—ARE THEY EVEN SERIOUS FOR remotely even attempting to request this?

The dolls, so creepy & bizarre…and the answer to: and can this case get stranger? It already is like something from another planet-….as Red said, Well, Hell!

then BEAM ME UP PLEASE SCOTTIE B/C SOMETIMES IT MAKES YOU WONDER—just exactly how much intelligent life is there truly left here on Earth? Sheeeeeeeeeeesh….so bizarre & disturbing this entire sordid mess.

WHAT ABOUT CAYLEE? We keep coming back to that! That poor baby girl had NO CHOICE, no voice and we are we, supposed to applaud fricken’ George & Cindy Anthony now because they are finally nearing making a decision on funeral arrangements? Give us a break, somebody–please!

  6. yoyo muffintop says:

#1: I’m not sure you’re understanding what Blink34 is getting at – in general you always want law-firm-retained PR firms, not client-retained. Having that greatly increases the chances of protection under the attorney-client privilege and creates the work-product doctrine as an alternative basis upon which to avoid disclosure.

If Mr. Black was not hired by Mr. Baez then it will be difficult to sustain any privilege claims.

It’s a huge misstep by Mr. Baez, imo.

  7. yoyo muffintop says:

But I will disagree with Blink34 – it won’t be the OCSO hearing anything from Todd Black, it’ll be a grand jury.
Of course, as a disclaimer, that is if anything of value has been told to him. He might not know a thing – he most likely is just a so-so”" PR person.”

  8. Confused says:

I predicted Black’s mea culpa when the Bar Association inquiry was first announced.

I am surprised that, he states in his response to the inquiry by the Florida Bar that Black is not his spokesperson.”" Baez didn’t need to go that far

  9. Blink34 says:

yoyo- that is exactly what i am getting at, your correct. well, i should say, partly.. I believe Black is the the conduit to how the defense is being funded, and proof of a possible conflict of interest on the part of Baez, as we will see in part 2.

I also might agree to your point as to the Grand Jury, especially given this situation. One thing for sure, Black will continue to give us fodder.

  10. brie. says:

So Baez wants the prosecutors taken off the case and replaced with the Attorney General because of anonymous complaints to the Bar Association. What is this guys deal, I guess he knows he’s going to lose. An anonymous complaint is just that, anonymous and he is blaming the prosecution. Maybe Black did it or maybe Baez did it and then turned around and defended the complaint. This guy is a dirty deal.

The prosecutors, the investigators, The FBI, Orange County sheriff and those that work with him have been doing a great job of collecting evidence and building a case. Baez wants a report every 5 minutes and then starts his winning and complaining if he doesn’t get it.

In the video he talks about Casey and the death penalty and he said they are prepared to handle that.

I guess the Anthony’s may end up with 2 kids in jail.

  11. brie. says:

Baez also complained that he didn’t know that possible evidence was sent off to be tested for DNA from the trunk of Casey’s car. Since when did they have to notify him of that, there were no documents.

I bet he’s got something sleezy to hide….

  12. bettejean says:

Baez, like his client, will end up gettin caught in his own web. He clearly doesn’t have the experience to navigate a trial of this magnitude. His akward attempts to mimic Johnny Cochran are so transparent and laughable. Everytime he opens his mouth he only proves what an incompetent buffoon he is. Let him continue to bury himself, it’s almost entertaining to watch at this point.

  13. pax says:

    Q:
Your beautiful 2 year old is murdered, thrown in the bushes in a trash bag and you did not do it.

You are truly innocent and jailed on a murder charge.

    What do you do?

Refuse to go to court and fight for your innocence so that police can then re-direct their effort and seek justice for your child?

Don’t bother requesting to attend your child’s funeral?
Oops, do you even bother to plan a funeral?

    just sayin’………….

  14. pax says:

Sorry guys, I am pissed off with this family.

I am just sickened and sad and mad.

I will plan the funeral and attend if they don’t want to!

    RIP Caylee

  15. Confused says:

I think we now know where the complaint came from. I hope the news picks up on it tomorrow.

  16. brie. says:

Conway said he was going to make arrangements for the funeral this week.

But then again Conway also said George only left a suicide note in his car but the police said they found an unfinished suicide letter.

The Anthony’s want to have a funeral inside the prison, Casey could care less. Caylee’s casket doesn’t belong inside the prison, Casey already said her sick minded goodbyes. Caylee can’t even be buried as a body instead just remains from a badly decomposed body.

  17. HOPE says:

You would think that they’d want to have her service, with or without her bones. Where does one go when their tattered and torn? To the ones that always love them best, no matter what. But, not the Anthony’s. They want to clan together. I hope George is making a break for it… in the right direction.

Casey is brain dead. She can’t feel for anyone but herself. She has no compassion for anyone… not a good bone in her body. And Lee? Lee is going to learn the hard way, you reap what you sow. Kinda makes a person wonder about what kind of parent they must have been to raise such heartless children.

And Caylee… Even her funeral arrangements have to be planned by a stranger.

    That’s pitiful.

  18. HOPE says:

I just hope they don’t turn Caylee’s funeral
    into a pity-party for Casey…

    That’d be sick!

  19. Dolce says:

    Great post Blink, very informative.

Given that no one has ever seen this Todd Black”",” I am wondering if there is not a direct connection of this “”Todd Black”" to Baez’s “”Media Relations Major”" of a daughter Christina?”

  20. Blink34 says:

Shel- yep, you got it right.. Yes OCSO can question Black, and I hope they do. For the first time ever I heard Black decline comment yesterday, I take that as a sign.

Thanks for the kind words all.

  23. [...] So the MSM has finally gotten around to investigating who the real Todd Black is. It is about time they got around to looking into the background of the Jose Baez spokesman. However, everyone might want to take a closer look as to who was really on the fore front of this investigative story.
