Orlando, FL- Keith Williams, the “reporter” named in the August 18, 2008 Police Report as the finder of a Father’s Day balloon, bag full of stuffed animals and small girl’s clothing, including, a sandal, provides the latest bombshell development in the case against Casey Anthony.  In an exclusive interview to Blink On Crime, we may learn why Jose Baez deposed Officer Richard Cain, the responding officer to both Keith Williams and Roy Kronk calls for findings at the scene within twenty yards of the vicinity where 34 month old Caylee Anthony’s remains were ultimately recovered.

He was There First in Late July

Keith Williams, currently working in the security industry and former massage therapist, grew up down the street from Casey Anthony and owned the home at 8735 Grandee Drive up until five years ago.Kwmyspace

After some self-admitted life lessons he has “learned the hard way,” he returned to Orlando two years ago. He initially heard of Caylee Anthony’s disappearance following Casey Anthony’s arrest, he has felt a strong connection to find Caylee and that based on his younger sister’s friendship accounts with Casey, he was positive she was in the woods by Hidden Oaks elementary school.

He first went to the woods in late July or early August to the best of his recollection, possibly early August after a conversation with his younger sister Alison. He did not venture into the woods at that point;  he did run into a reporter which he spoke to, but declined to appear on camera, but shared he was a childhood friend of Casey’s and familiar with the area in the woods as most neighborhood kids were. He stated it was a place they would sneak off to or in some cases bury their pets. Prior to August 18, 2008 Keith had not had any conversations with George or Cindy Anthony regarding Casey or Caylee and had not seen them in years.

August 18, 2008

On the morning of August 18, 2008 Williams went to the dead end portion of Suburban drive nearest the fence opposing the Oaks Elementary School. At the scene, he found a Happy Father’s Day Balloon, a little girl’s sandal, some little girl’s clothing, and a plastic bag filled with stuffed animals. Keith removed the bag from the scene, loading it into his car, and headed for the people he felt could tell him who the contents might belong to; The Anthony’s.

He rang the bell to the Anthony home and was met by Cindy Anthony. He told him who he was, and how he came about finding the possible evidence and location it was found. Cindy looked through the contents of the bag as Keith mentioned the other findings at the scene. She expressed that none of the contents looked familiar and that their family was quite sure that Caylee was alive and had been kidnapped by her nanny, Zenaida Gonzalez. Williams felt he did the right thing by bringing the bag to the Anthony’s and was not satisfied with what appeared to be, in his perception “denial on their part”. He told Cindy he would just get rid of it. He returned to the woods location he retrieved it from in the first place, and called Police. Cain3

(editor’s note: Cindy Anthony weeded through this bag, knew exactly where it was found, the other described possible evidence at the scene and we are supposed to believe two of her investigators show up at the same location by coincidence?)

The Incident Report

There was no formal police report DV17 issued at the scene regarding Keith Williams find on August 18, 2008. Richard Cain, the responding deputy, sent an email to the criminal Investigations Division.

At the scene with Officer Cain, Keith stated that he had been told by a psychic what items would be found there, and that they subsequently were. He specifically pointed out the Father’s Day balloon and other items. Officer Cain felt the items had been there for a very long time and probably unrelated to the case due to roots growing through the bag and the condition of the plastic. He left the items at the scene.

Keith Williams did not tell Cain that he had taken the items to be reviewed by Cindy Anthony at any time during that incident, but he did tell someone.

    When is part II coming?

  3. Scoop says:

Yeah, remember Casey telling her family,

“They haven’t, even, found the Clothes, yet!”

    .

So… who took out the garbage?

That girl was laid to rest.

With things placed on top of her.

    They floated away…

    But not her.

    .

    imo ;)

There had to be a reason the PI’s were there. This is really an important find!!

  6. Greg says:

Blink find out who is Keith’s psychic? Then ask the psychic about
Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings, and AMBER LEEANNE DUBOIS ?

  7. Scoop says:

    Thank You :)

    Scared Monkeys!

  8. Snowy says:

Wow. No chance he might recollect the date of those July visits? And I can’t wait for Part II to explain why he waited a month to go back that last? time in Oct (with a shovel?). Also, maybe you could ask him why his myspace comment dates look like they have been played with. No comments after Jul 2nd ’08 (until Feb 17th ’09) and Aug & Oct ’08 are completely missing. It doesn’t seem there are any comments between Jun 3rd & Jul 24th ’08 either. Just making a few observations…

And Keith taking the bag to Cindy Anthony doesn’t really make any sense to me. Wasn’t there reward money (esp from the bounty hunter) at that time for any information on the Caylee’s whereabouts (deceased or otherwise)? Does he say he was going to all this trouble just out of kindness (he hasn’t seen them in years)? Bringing the bag to the Anthonys would have caused problems with collecting any reward money – so why would he do it? And if he was so sure the area should be searched (upset the cops wouldn’t) AND he was aware of the reward money AND he had just found a bag of toddler cloths – why didn’t search further that first time for the baby?

  9. Lovejac says:

Unbelievable! At long last, a true “Bombshell”. Excellent work as usual, Blink! Now, LE, when will you be interviewing Cindy again????? Shame, shame, shame on Cindy, to think that precious Caylee could have been recovered earlier, makes me ill. Instead, she was allowed to turn to bones, that were scattered by scavengers. There are truly no words to describe the actions of the very people who should have protected Caylee, in life and in her trajic death.

  10. Lovejac says:

oops….sorry for the typo, Blink, I am beyond angry! Tragic, tragic, tragic

  11. Greg says:

Outstanding work Blink, you have the bombshell of the case. What is wrong with the Florida police? Can Cindy Anthony face a obstruction charges? Nancy Grace and Greta are stumbling in your dust.

  12. Deborah Merritt says:

Have all the items been recovered by the police? Why did the police officer not prepare the form and start an investigation? He actually
    left all the evidence there?

Did Keith take all the items put them in the plastic bag and take them to the Anthonys? Cindy looked thru said she didn’t recognize anything.

Then Keith put all the items back where he found them?
There was no further police investigation?

  13. Annals says:

Hi Blink; I am waiting with bated breath.

In the mean time, I’m a little confused. Williams took the bag of stuffed animals to show to Cindy. After she said that the items are unfamiliar to her, he took the bag and it’s contents back to their original site and called the police. Enter Deputy Cain who observed that the items had been there for a long time due to roots growing through the bag.

But if the bag had been previously dislodged by Williams from the soil/vegitation; how were the roots still appearant “growing through the bag” to Cain? Or am I reading this whole scenario wrong?

I’m just trying to get an accurate mental picture of what you’ve described so far.

And by the way, your Bombshells are ever so much more incendiary than those on TV. “Tot Mom orders lip gloss from jail commisary.” Dud.

  14. Gigi says:

so what happened to the various items that were in the bag???? were they recovered at the crime scene when the remains were finally located? this is very bizarre and there is something quite unsettling about it. why didn’t cindy ever disclose this to the police?? especially in light of casey’s comments about not finding caylee’s clothing……………can’t wait for part two. good work blink. i hope that the prosecutors staff reads this website every day.

  15. cecybeans says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the weather really horrible on August 18? I was down in that area from the 13th until at least the 22 and if I remember correctly Fay was wreaking havoc back and forth across the state. I know my daugter’s family was at DisneyWorld and it was a deluge that week. What was this dude doing running around looking for her in such crummy weather? Wouldn’t a lot of that area have been really muddy? When did Cain say that about the roots? Was it in his original report or after the fact? This thing is hinkadelic!

  16. Blink says:

    All-

I love how wicked smart you all are.

Addressing the bag and it’s status in Part II, but yes, it was back at the scene for Cain to see, thats a fact.

Again, I think Keith’s motives were pure, but I am concerned as to some of the date relevances.

Thanks again all and keep Caylee in your prayers.

  18. Jolynna says:

    Blink,

Does Keith know the sizes of the clothes he saw? What kind of clothes were they? Play clothes? Frilly dresses? A denim skirt? How about the stuffed animals? Were they panda bears? A teddy bear like the one Ric Morales said Caylee always said Caylee took with her everywhere?

    Thanks so much.

  19. Blink says:

    #17 NO.
I know GSJ personally, she is a wicked fraud. I never say that professionally about anyone, so that should give you some indication of how strongly I feel about her.

  20. Blink says:

#18 I am comfortable saying that Keith is positive that what he saw was for a small little girl, but would not describe the find that specifically here, I know you’ll understand.

  21. Kleat says:

Cain must have known that ‘Father’s Day’ figured importantly in the events surrounding this missing child, as that was the last documented full day anyone saw Caylee. June 15th, Father’s Day. The confusion of the last date seen (the June 9th confusion) was cleared up well before the time Cain was involved in early August. To not clue into a ‘Father’s Day’ balloon doesn’t make sense. If the find was old as suggested by Cain, what about the Father’s Day balloon? The shape of a mylar or other balloon would be quite different if it were from Father’s day 2007, vs Father’s Day 2008, only a month and a half later. Why wouldn’t Cain mention that? Something doesn’t fit. Cain could not have decided himself, that roots were growing through the bag, that is rediculous unless the bag was attached to those roots in situ. And the report says otherwise. Roots of some plants could go into a ripped bag, I’ve heard that some plants grow rapidly in Florida, like bamboo.

No matter what was known to have happened to Caylee, the suggestion was that some criminal act was involved and giving the bag to Cindy Anthony to rummage through, or anyone else for that matter, was irresponsible because if this was material related to Caylee, then the forensic clues could possibly lead to her safe recovery, if a kidnapper’s fingerprint was found and that led to a real person with the baby.

What is the ‘tresspass’ report from the school principal?

  22. notrial4casey says:

Dammit Blink… I wanna see part II!

I enjoy your take on this case. I appreciate that besides just reporting the news of the case you are actively pursuing leads and info. Not only do you lay the facts out there for all to debate but you also provide your insights and theories behind the evidence.
I usually blog at WFTV but you have sucked me into another blog with your approach to the case.
    Keep up the great work.

  23. Lexi says:

    Blink,
This guy seems to be credible, but why in the world wouldn’t he call LE before moving/disturbing evidence and taking it to Cindy??? That just seems to bizarre to me. If it were me, taking any crime scene items to Cindy would be the last thing on my mind, so this just doesn’t make sense. Not that a whole lot makes sense anyway.

By August, Cindy was already in “protection of Casey” mode and would have covered everything. Actually, within 48 hours Cindy was in the protection of Casey mode.

  24. Scoop says:

    Blink:

The response by Cindy to the bag and it’s contents is TOTALLY believable to me… in fact, it sounds just like her to say that. That’s what she had been saying the whole time. It didn’t matter what Law Enforcement believed, or TES or the whole world as far as that goes. She believed what she wanted to believe.

My recollection is that the storm started on August 12 or 14, is that correct?

    Thanks ;)

    Nite…

  25. Scarrlett says:

Like this case needed MORE CRAP!! This is going to make a great story for all those 48 Hours, news investigative shows and again Caylee gets used.
This guy and the cop should be ashamed, and am I correct in assuming that both adults, one serving and protecting Orlando, leave the bag as trash and did not throw it away in the appropriate garbage receptacle???? Litter bugs. Admitted litter bugs!!
I beleive a fine is in order!!

Why don’t people just say they are searching? It’s obvious that the meter reader was searching every chance he got in the area. I mean A “HUGE” reward was offered and it is not a crime to be looking to collect the reward.
Isn’t that the main purpose of a REWARD??

  26. Blink says:

#22 Thanks, I am glad to have “sucked you in”. One of the reasons we started blinkoncrime was to hopefully show all sides of a case and not just “report” what’s already out there. I feel like most are really smarter than that and truly care that they are being hosed and this baby is some folk’s paycheck and IT IS WRONG. Thans for caring.

  27. Blink says:

#21- I agree, but in speaking with Keith, I didnt really see the malice about taking the bag to Cindy. He grew up there, his sister is friends with Casey, I think alot of people initially thought they would just want her found.

All:One of the major reasons I say that is because he never contacted the media and refused an on camera interview. If he were looking to cash in, he could have. I place the bigger blame on Cain- I feel his preformance has given the defense fodder, but will be unsuccessful. To me, it just gives Baez more data to not discuss a plea with his client; which imo, is a grave error for Casey.

  28. Felicity says:

    I agree about GSJ!
I find it hard to believe that Cindy didn’t show more interest in
what was found. However, I believe that the whole Anthony family has known Caylee was dead since they smelled the “death smell” in the car, ad saw the maggots. That’s when they all started doing “damage control” to save Casey’s murdering ass. All the talk about how much they loved little Caylee was just not true; otherwise, they wouldn’t protect the person who committed this sadistic, painful crime.

The whole Anthony family are a bunch of liars!

  29. chitown lady says:

Why has this taken so long to come out? And yet they now believe people are going to say it true? They need to toalk to Cindy Amthony and get to the REAL TRUTH…I always had a feeling that she knew alot more then she was letting on. Perhaps to save her murdering daughter. I have NEVER in my life saw a family like this. they have done anything to block and hide evidence and hide the truth. The REAL TRUTH…….When is this crazy family just going to admit their hiding of information and see what ther daughter rally is. A MURDERING MOTHER ! This whole this is a joke. WHERE IS THE JUSTICE FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL????? SHE DESERVES BETTER FROM HER OWN FAMILY……Common ANthony family…Time to step up to the plate here for the granddaughter you CLAIM you loved oh so much. Let us know the truth………If not….MAY CAYLEE HAUNT YOU ALL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES……

I agree, there is a lot more here!! I would hope LE goes to talk with Cindy about this!! Something is up!!! Thanks Blink Always great When do we get Part 2? Cannot wait!!

  33. Kleat says:

Thanks, Blink. And I agree, doesn’t seem any malice on William’s part as he was wanting to be helpful, I was thinking more of the professional Cain, not relating the Father’s Day balloon to the known timeline. Didn’t Cindy did say in an early interview, something about George not wanting to do anything to celebrate Father’s Day? Is it known if these items connected at all to the Anthony home?

  34. Omachka says:

    @ 24 Scoop:

TS Fay came across Central Florida on August 18. It zig zagged across Florida so it rained for many days after that. On the 18th itself, the storm was only just coming ashore and moved across here in the afternoon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropical_Storm_Fay_(2008) If he was out there early enough in the day, he may have missed the worst of the rain but it would have been flooded there immediately afterwards.

  35. dddeerma says:

Okay, so where is Part II? Time to either disappoint us all, or enlighten us as to why this all is important. If the bag is gone, this character has a lot to answer for, and I will applaud LE if they take him in and throw away the key.

  36. Annals says:

LE dismissed this material as possible evidence on Aug 18 when Deputy Richard Cain said it’s just garbage. At that point, whatever Williams did with it is irrelivant to any criminal charges asgaint him.

  37. notrial4casey says:

    Unrelated to the current topic but a coupla questions that have been gnawing away at the back of my mind;

Is there a precedence anywhere pertaining to the motion by Prosecutors to find the money trail for Judge Strickland to base his ruling on?
I know that it has been speculated that ABC is the cash-cow… any new info on that yet?

What, if any, is there a basis/precendence for Baez to file the motion to exclude the jail video of CMA’s reaction to the crime scene discovery on 11 December 08?
I can only speculate that the video is not good for defense… and I wanna see it… As I have stated on clickorlando.com (very Defense Team oriented site, IMO.) CMA’s reaction on video may just be the only unscripted view of CMA that we will ever see…

  38. dddeerma says:

Thanks Annals: now I am really terrified about the system of justice here in the US. If it is not collected, it does not exist. Sometimes it does seem to me that individual members of LE need to have some personal responsibility/liability for their actions. The consequences of incompetence or inattention to duty are staggering to those of us who may be affected by them. My response about throwing away the key was more in personal irritation than a call for Cain’s lynching.

  39. new says:

This man was issued a warning trespassing citation on the 18 of Aug. 2008. The Principle of the school detained him and called police got his car make and tag number. Report by school principle was filed on Dec 12 of 2008. There is a Physic tip on the tip line on or about that date, Aug 18th, that gives a pretty accurate description of the area down to the dead end street. Identifiing where the body was. There are also tips about the milage from the Ants house. He says he is a friend of Caseys, his sister knew her, his girl friends mother is a physic. This guy is too old to have gone to school with Casey. He went to this area searching for Caylee following the Physic directions and found clothing, toys, shoe, and baloon. He removed evidence from a possible crime scene and then took it back there and called the police.? Where is the report? The Principle was the one to call the Police not this man. REmoving articlies from a potential crime scene not so very smart if he was truly trying to help LE. And if he believed the Physic this was Caylees burial site. All this does not add up to me. Kronk called his report in on Aug was it the 15-16 and 17th? You know Kronks supervisor is a neighbor of the Ants. Not the one at the scene with him. Incident occured on Aug 18th report not made out until Dec 2008. Me thinks this is just another move by the Defense to prove the mishandeling of evidence by the LE. I believe that William is on wittness list. Detective Casey was out there in Nov. When interview he said he did not tell the Ants he was there until a week or so later. Cindy said to the police after Caylee was found that she had sent her detective there in Nov. Now who is telling the truth?

  40. Kimm says:

OMG! Talk about leaving people hanging! Hurry up with part 2!!!!!!!

  41. new says:

Is Williams a friend of Lee? What is this Girls friends mothers name. Is she realy a physic? How much was the reward at that time? Was it for dead or alive? What was his motivation? He certianly was not helping LE by removing items of evidence from a potential crime scene. The most sensible thing to do was to leave anything as he found it and call the Police. Why did he not do that? Two near misses in August before the storm.

  42. Lovejac says:

Blink! The suspense is unbearable! More, pretty please!

  43. Gigi says:

so, do we know if any of the evidence that was in the bag was ever recovered? makes me wonder why cindy didn’t immediately call LE as the items could have been thrown there by the “nanny”. this is indeed disturbing.

  44. Blink says:

    HANG IN IT’s WORTH IT

  45. Heike says:

My first question is why is everyone assuming that the items belonged to Caylee? LE has an email of having looked at the items, and surely they would have followed up. It seems they discovered they were not hers or they would have exploded into a massive search?

I do not for a second think that faced with items of Caylee’s found out in the woods that CA would have had no reaction. She loved that baby girl, no matter what else people feel about her. PI Casey went out in that area three months later and to my knowledge it has not been confirmed that Cindy “sent him”? Even if she did, I doubt it was anything more than a natural area to look and unrelated to this story.

In my view, there is a lot of “fishiness” in the story, as noted by others above.
