AMBER ALERT: MOUNTING QUESTIONS IN THE DISAPPEARANCE OF MISSING DAUGHTER JULIA RAKOCZY, BONNIE SWEETEN

Feasterville, PA– As the investigation into the alleged abduction of Bonnie Sweeten, 38, and her daughter, 9 year old Julia Rakoczy enters it’s second full day; investigators have more questions than answers.

Sweetens former husband and Julia’s Father, Anthony Rakoczy appeared this morning on NBC’s the Today Show and Good Morning America. He had last seen his daughter on Memorial Day.

“I’m still in shock,” he said on NBC’s Today show. “She’s a great mother.”

“I was thinking that this is not real, that this is stuff you see on TV.” He described Sweeten as very organized, on top of her children’s many activities, and as someone with no known enemies. “I don’t understand why anyone would want to keep them,” he said. “Just let them go.”

Yesterday, at approximately 1:47PM, Bonnie Sweeten called 911 and reported her and her daughter Julia were forced into a late 90’s model, dark colored Cadillac following a  “fender bender” on Street Road and Central Avenue while exchanging insurance information. Sweeten claimed 2 black males forced them into the trunk, where she was  also calling them from. In her initial call, she told police the child was with her. Where it becomes unclear, is that in her subsequent calls, she changes her account and states her daughter is in the rear of the Denali. Police were able to trace the initial and subsequent calls to the same cell tower in Center City.

Declining to elaborate further, FBI Special Agent J.J. Klavers said investigators are following a number of leads in the hunt for Bonnie Sweeten and her daughter Julia Rakoczy.

“We’re not really in a position to address some of these issues right now. Our priority is getting everybody back safely,” he said.

Both vehicles were thought to have been found in downtown Philadelphia; within a 2 block radius of the last traced cell phone call by Sweeten. However, blinkoncrime.com has learned that Police are still searching for the Cadillac. The similar car found earlier with front end damage and silver paint has been excluded. The Silver Denali owned by Sweeten was located unlocked and without keys. It has been impounded by the FBI following receipt of a warrant.

A source inside the PA State Police has confirmed to blinkoncrime.com that has heard the 911 calls, that Sweeten does sound frantic during them, but classified her calls as “drastically inconsistent.”  When I questioned if that could be due to the conditions of the environment during the commission of the crime or other, I received a “That would not be my professional opinion after listening to them three times.”

Adding to mounting concerns of the validity of Sweetens accounts; The  Denali was found with a parking ticket which was time-stamped at 2:20 PM yesterday afternoon. The meters on that street are timed so that it is likely that vehicle would to have been in place at that location at 2 PM at the earliest. Without traffic, the area where the Denali was found is a minimum of a 40 minute drive.

Early this afternoon, the administrator of Julia’s Belmont Hills Elementary school, through their spokesperson Susan Phy,  disclosed Julia Rakoczy was withdrawn from school on May 1, 2009. It was not known if she had been enrolled in another school, or if playmates or neighbors have seen the child recently.

Bonnie Sweetens current husband, Richard Larry Sweeten with whom she owns a Landscaping Business, has refused all requests for comment. Neighbors of the Sweetens speaking on condition of anonymity, have confirmed the couple had recently seperated.

Hmmm, great update. Thanks. Yesterday I wanted to think this was completely random. Today…I don’t know what to think. But random or not, this is scary, and I just want them found safe. I would love to hear you weigh in on this one B. I’m sure you have thoughts/theories that you are keeping in! :) Do tell!

I think there will be warrants executed to search the Sweeten’s home today.

The couple had seperated and he won’t talk …hmmmmm?
Has anyone seen the gril since her father saw her Memorial day?

    This will not end well
I wonder if the FBI has allowed to the x husband to listen to the 911 tape and confirm that is Bonnie’s voice.

Oh, my, your comment in post #3 made my heart sink.

This is just weird. It’s an elaborate story that almost requires witnesses (that it happened in a busy part of town). If the mom was going to fake a crime to cover up another crime, why fake it when it could be so easily dismissed? And, is the intersection covered by traffic cams, or do any nearby businesses record for security purposes? Because this allegedly happened in broad daylight, I find it highly improbably that there are no witnesses, human, camera, or otherwise.

Pure speculation but is it possible someone wanted her dead and made it look like a car jacking and kidnapping? Just sayin..this doesn’t make any sense..timing and location of the calls, placement of the car (with a cold engine I’m guessing) and a parking ticket given at the time the car shouldn’t have been there yet. Plus a lady on the phone who is inconsistent..but doesn’t sound confused or hysterical? They best be searching the Sweetens home..I’m thinking something aint so sweet there anymore.

Sadly, Im with ya. It is impossible that this happened the way it is being reported. The cell phone towers would ping all the way down 95.

The images of where the Denali was found appear to be a some-what busy area? Is that true? Are there no surveilence cameras betwen where this abduction took place, and where the vehicle was parked?

Also, I thought I read in a report there were actual witnesses to the abduction??

B are we not discussing this on the forum? I keep looking and can’t find it.

its there, under missing persons forum

I’m not convinced the mom is in on this, though. Why only her her nine-year-old? Why in broad daylight? Why a car-jacking in a busy intersection? I don’t think that the car being ticketed at 2:20p.m. is really indicative of much apart from proving that she was no longer in the car at that time. A few minutes here or there could explain why the car was at that location at that time. If the captors divided up and one drove the Caddy and the other drove her car to get it out of sight, then it makes sense that she would be in the area of her vehicle because the Caddy drivers (with her in the trunk) would likely pick up the accomplices driving her car.

This is a horrible thought, but if something happened to the child and this is a cover-up, it seems like there were easier, less elaborate ways to cover it up. This seems easily disproven from the outset if untrue.

If she’s “returned” sans daughter, then I’ll start to wonder more about her.

If they are sure this is Bonnie’s voice, imo, we have a problem. It is a physical impossibility to only ping from that tower enroute from the alleged accident. If it is not hers, we have an obvious bigger problem.
That vehicle could not have made the trip in that amount of time under any circumstances.

Does anyone else wonder if the black caddy with silver paint was discovered and that is how the 911 caller came up with the description of the car?

  11. Jill from Texas says:

    Hey Blink,

New info may be coming out that the mother was spotted at the airport and may have boarded a plane. A local radio reporter stated this just a few minutes ago on HLN Prime Time News. Not clear if her daughter was spotted with her.

  12. pink monkey says:

Blink, HLN just reported that video shows Mom being at the airport but not the daughter? Did you hear something like this?

  13. moxiemom says:

PHILADELPHIA – May 27, 2009 (WPVI) — Video surveillance at Philadelphia International Airport captured Bonnie Sweeten and Julia Rakoczy boarding a plane late Tuesday. That plane was heading to Tampa, Florida.

  14. Susan says:

The report in the link provided by Pam above states that Bonnie Sweeten is being accused of stealing money from an employer.

  15. Daisey1 says:

My head is spinning! This is sooooo confusing. Sounds like “someone” killed this child, and now an eleborate conver-up is taking place! Perhaps the mother is in on it, or she was killed too! I agree with you, Blink, the Sweeten home should be searched immediately!

You are doing a fantastic job!!______________________________________________________________________

  16. Bionicmom says:

Blink – I’m surprised you didn’t call BS on this from the first report.

lol, well, I did, just more subtely than usual.
I am not convinced this kid is safe, so you have to err on the side of caution.
