BREAKING NEWS

Mom Arrested in Fl, Daughter safe

Philadelphia, PA– Police have recovered video evidence at Philadelphia International Airport indicating Bonnie Sweeten, and 9 year old Julia Rakoczy, previously thought to be abducted, are now in Orlando, Florida.

Amberalert1

Following almost 28 hours of multiple Law Enforcement agencies engaged in an all out man hunt for Sweeten and her daughter following her 911 calls alleging they had been kidnapped and in the trunk of the family car, the gig is up.

Although Sweeten used a fake ID and cash to purchase two one way tickets to Orlando International Airport yesterday, immediately following her calls to 911. It has been discovered that Ms. Sweeten is also a notary public, which would make it very easy to falsify an identity.

Complaint2

Sources close to the investigation have confirmed to blinkoncrime that Sweeten has a prior arrest record, and has recently been accused of embezzling over $300,000 through her work at The Carltiz Foundation, located in New Hope, PA. Sweeten was the asisstant to the founder.

The Carlitz Foundation was founded by Debra Carlitz. Ms. Carlitz is a Pennsylvania attorney who in 2008 was given a one year suspension from the PA Supreme Court overseeing the PA bar for one year. Calls to the office of Ms. Carlitz were not returned.

  15. Pi$$ed off Feastervillian says:

Don’t worry, Bonnie, your neighbors in Lower Southampton are so proud, blaming it all on “two black men” is not at all racist, and your teen-aged daughter will in no way be subjected to relentless mocking for the rest of her education or until she moves away from the area. Nice job.

I know, I feel so sorry for these kids, and your community. It is one person’s actions, not a snapshot of your town.

  16. EyesWIDEOpen says:

When I googled her yesterday, I found she was a notary and worked for Carlitz (Linkdn profile). I am amazed she would leave her other children behind. I mean, an INFANT?

I wonder if the separation from her husband was also a hoax, and he is somehow involved?

  17. Pi$$ed off Feastervillian says:

I just found out she drained their bank account just a few days ago and asked a ‘friend’ of ours to rent a car for her. I found this out today. We are a little, close knit town. Everyone knows everyone if not personally, thru friends. I’m very upset about this. Albeit I’m glad they’re safe and not the alternative, I still am angry. My children were afraid to go to sleep last night. All the windows in the house had to be shut and locked. That is not how we live nor have we ever lived that way but now, because of a single selfish woman, my children are afraid in their own home. God Bless those children of hers.

BTW … Thanks Blink! You’re awesome by the way. ;)

  18. Deana says:

I hope she gets charged with a hate crime for saying it was two black men. If you want to go all nuts and fake your own kidnapping so you can run away, the least you can do is leave race issues out of it. That’s nasty.

Great work by LE on this one. Seems that they must have watched a LOT of airport video to find them; Philly International is a big busy hub.

  21. Scoop says:

It’s kinda funny, because I went to the link that was left last night on the previous article and a lot of people were fighting off remarks against the City of Brotherly love with reminders of Susan ? who drowned her own children in the lake, reporting they were abducted by a black man. It’s good to know I’m not the only one with a sixth sense.

Could it be that she was going to kill the only child who would be old enough to understand what her mother had been doing… and planning to meet up with her husband and other child(ren) later?

    We may never know.

Kudos to law enforcement for solving this crime so quickly. Can’t help but wonder if they got any help from Blink’s Links

    :)

  22. Brenda in Virginia says:

This will do wonders for scrutiny where the Amber Alert is concerned…as if the system doesn’t have enough problems. Now, LE has to determine if it is really an abduction. Lovely.

No doubt the little girl was witness to the mother’s lies. Let me guess…mommy has a “genetic malfornation”. NO. she has a malformation of the soul. This is insane, sociopathic, selfish, just unbelievable. I could just rant and rave!

  23. Brenda in Virginia says:

This is so beyond a hate crime. She’s an opportunist. No matter black, white, green, or pink. This deranged soul did nothing more than choose her best route to pulling off a lie. she doubtfully could care less about any race or anything else..she has to be so twisted that probably hating has nothing to do with anything, it’s all about her and what will work best to serve her selfish desires. Oh geez, I’m not surprised, but overwhelmed at how many people have turned so dark that it’s to the point they’ve lost their humanity.

Blink, I”ll try not to go crazy on your site over these stories, and this is just one of 3 major bombshells this week? My “nuclear” comment re: Melissa Huckaby will probably knock me to the floor.

  24. Blink says:

    From Blink

Many of you have asked me throughout the last 2 days to “come clean” so to speak on this case, as if I was holding out. I get that the readers of this site, who I consider fellow advocates, get a sense of an anuthor’s style, etc. That happened because the samrtest people on the net read here. Now that this woman has been arrested, I will share with you how I was positive immediately this woman was complicit in this event.

When the Special Agent with the FBI, at a press conf, said (para)”She is estranged from her husband so we are talking to alot of people”
I knew immediately. From experience I can tell you, NO FBI AGENT would bring that up in a missing persons case unless he was trying to send a message to the perp; in this case Bonnie Sweeten.

You asked, so I felt I owed you the explanation, sometimes I just cant say everything I would like, when I would like to.

  25. Annals says:

I am flabbergasted that this woman thought this was a plan.

Stage a fake kidnapping with enough drama to trigger an Amber Alert and national media attention, then go to “DisneyWorld”!? And then what? Somehow use $300 thou to escape notice and go on her merry way…

OK, I’m done; no logic to this one, she’s crazy. Criminal, too, though.

  26. kuaitzudog says:

where is the $300,000.00 that she embezzled from her employer. I think more from this story will eventually come out.and more people may be involved.

  29. Pi$$ed off Feastervillian says:

I wonder if her defense is going to be the good ole’ standby, Postpartum Depression or Postpartum Psychosis. She has an 8 month old and PPD can last as long as a year per http://www.webmd.com/depression/guide/postpartum-depression?page=2 .

I have children and never experienced PPD. I may have I guess but I’m not 100% sure.

    Thoughts?

  30. mamacrazy30 says:

maybe she just wanted to take her daughter to disneyworld before she was charged with embezzlement? who knows? i just don’t understand why she didn’t just leave. why broadcast yourself to the police when your intention is to get out of dodge? what the hell?

  31. riddlemethis says:

    Blink,

I so appreciate your explanation above, love to hear and understand the insight…..and when you have time, if you could further explain something?

I get they (LE/FBI) were sending a message to Bonnie Sweeten, and how you then knew it implicated her involvement. But it makes me wonder…. I have to think the FBI’s intent is to get her to end the game. But if she’s a soc/disordered person (maybe she isn’t, but she’s sure acting like one) would they not fear she would harm the child at that point in an attempt to further “prove” her story as the truth? Maybe I’m not looking at it right, but in that sense it scares me that they might take that gamble if it might endanger the child? Not trying to criticize them, just trying to understand. I’d almost think they wouldn’t want her to know they were onto her at all.

Obviously LE still has alot more than what’s come out, but again when you have time I’d love to hear your take on that.

How sad all this news is today, Neveah….utterly, utterly heartbreaking, no closure for Stebic or Peterson families yet, (hopefully some closure for another family). Julia Rakoczy being recovered safely is the good news of the day, albeit wrapped in a disgusting tale.

Maybe I need thicker skin if I’m gonna follow this stuff, hard to keep it in perspective today. God Bless all but especially these poor families and the children who are thrown into these horrible situations by those who are supposed to be their number one advocate and fiercest protectors of their care. Sorry for my ramble.

When I have time, I will, remind me Riddle

  32. hoping says:

I am completely dumbfounded. If she wanted to runaway…why make up the kidnapping story? If anything, that made her get caught quicker. She could have easily created the fake name, parked her car where she did, and get to the airport and have a much longer headstart because I doubt that the FBI would’ve gotten involved so early on. I am wondering how she got to the airport? UNBELIEVABLE!!! Her poor daughters left behind. Did she not love them enough to take them too?? WOW. It’s weird feeling so disgusted when I should feel ecstatic that Julia is okay.

  33. babyfacemagee says:

Agree with hoping. Really bad attempt to throw the authorities off her trail the way she did it. Instead of buying herself a couple of days time headstart she basically set them on her tail and sabotaged her whole plan from the get go. Hey, we can’t all be geniuses.

  34. Pi$$ed off Feastervillian says:

The FBI was already involved (unbeknownst to her I’m sure) due to the embezzlement charges coming her way. Essentially, she got herself caught quicker than she would have had she just packed up and gone rather than create so much attention for herself. Perhaps she didn’t know the FBI was involved yet and thought it better to skip town before the actual indictment.

I wonder if the FBI put out the Amber Alert because they were truly concerned with the welfare of the child (which I’m certain they were) or to create a diversion (in her mind) keeping her thinking everyone is focused on the alleged abduction and the embezzlement would go by the wayside.

Who really knows what these wackos think. Know what is REALLY funny? She is one of our ‘piers’. Meaning … if we were to go for Jury Duty, she’d be one of us at the Court House to be a potential Juror. HA!

  35. Brenda in Virginia says:

Blink, in reference to you comment 25, I respect and understand why you don’t and cannot tell all. I once asked my cousin (an officer) about a case involving a girl I knew. She told me it was “best I didn’t ask”. I took that as good advice from her. Some things are better not said during an investigation and personally I”m pleased you DO hold back in those cases. Keep up the good work.

  36. Red Ranger says:

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that she is in the Orange county jail. I am assuming this is the 33rd street lock-up where Casey Anthony is incarcerated.

I do not care why she did it. I do not care what kind of help she needs to help her better assimilate back into society. I do not care that her self esteem issues crippled her. I want her put down like the rabid dog she is. I have her on the Coleman, Peterson, Anthony, and “Daddy George” list. She made a Herculean effort to go against most written and unwritten rules in our society. This tells me she has made a conscious choice to no longer participate with the rest of us. Buh-bye.

Also, you can save your eighth amendment debate. I don’t care. I am sick of the criminal element in this country being mollycoddled and pampered. Let’s give her a year in jail, then arrest her again after her next stunt, hoping that she does not physically harm someone next time. BS. Euthanize her and call it a day.

What is the dollar cost of the search for her and her trials? Should We, the people have to shoulder this burden because she is spoiled and had a tantrum? OK, I am through now. Let the flaming and grammer corrections begin.

none from me Red, I agree 100%. These poor kids. Another Suburban grifter, wth?

Blink – Amazing work! I no longer check CNN for “crime” information, I come here, knowing you’ll have the latest. Thanks a mil.

In my neck of the woods, a mother of two was just murdered (brutally with a baseball bat). The suspect? Her next door neighbor! An 18 year old kid. His mom was best friends with the victim.

Sick, sick, sick. LE was on the ball with this case. It makes me realize that just because it wasn’t a high profile case that made the national news, stuff like this is happening everywhere, often. Disgusting!

    http://www.kutv.com/content/news/local/story/Police-Teen-Suspect-Tried-to-Rob-Neighbor-then/1p4R55-QPEif7VO85xCTFA.cspx

Thanks again for all your hard work, Blink!

  38. Red Ranger says:

Hey Blink, It is within the realm of possibility with a low degree of probability that Crazytard was on a mission. She is in the same facility as Tot mom. If it was her plan to be put there so she could kill Tot mom, and does it, I could easily forgive her. I would also not mind using tax money to fly her back home. We could call it a public service trip and she could take all other expenses off of taxes.

On a seperate note the 503c she was working for takes money from Americans to send overseas during the worst American recession of most of our lives. She took the money and spent it here, thereby living by the “Buy American” credo. If this was her motivation then I applaud her for that as well.

I am just speculating and could possibly be wrong on both counts. If wrong, I revert back to my last posts state of mind. Just trying to see some good in all people.

  39. it's my life says:

Dear Pi$$ed … I had PPD with all 3 of my children, but the worst was with #3. While I admit I did fantasize about running away from it all, I know in my heart of hearts that I could NOT have left my children. It was a fantasy and nothing more, b/c I was feeling so down and miserable at the time. NOt sure if that gives you any insight into PPD but it can be very debilitating. I think this woman’s problems go WAY beyond from what I’ve heard so far.

It sort of sounds to me like her life was spiraling out of control with the children from various men, embezzlement charges etc etc. I know someone similar to this where I live. Bizarre. She will undoubtedly come up with a mental health defense. I’d be my next paycheque on it.

  40. riddlemethis says:

Two misdomeanors for all this? It seems to me felony fraud would be a relevant charge. Violating the written and unwritten rules of society is a great description RR.

These people fool and manipulate, and they are good at it, some very, very good. It isn’t apparent to the casually acquainted, and even those close enough don’t get what’s happening half the time until it’s too late. By all accounts I am betting this woman used all the “good” behavior as a front for many things, not only to fool and deceive others, but also because she “justifies” her deceptions by them. These people keep score and take full advantage of their trust building “exercises”. And when it starts to unravel they escalate and escalate until they self destruct.

I’ve read so many wondering why she didn’t just walk away? If she indeed embezzled $300K I’ll tell you why, because a soc/disordered person presents a fabulous persona and thrives on chaos and controling other peoples perception of them, because it’s their main tool and modus operandi. When they start to feel cornered they move onto the next con, to deflect and avoid the squeeze, but they don’t ever really think ahead about the consequences because they’re conditioned to just repeat the pattern until they eventually self destruct.

Note her fabrication of the kidnapping was an attempt to preserves her persona in the eyes of others. She leaves her husband a phone message telling him she loves him and to tell the other girls she loved them too, ‘just in case she never see’s him again’.

Your honor, I rest my case.

Anybody else notice the eyes in the mug shot?

  41. drumstick says:

8 month old baby … I’m guessing she is an over the top PPD case.
Post Partum Depression is a tricky thing. Anyone who has ever experienced it or has watched a loved one go through it understands that it is tough on everybody.
From what I’ve read about her she has people lined up in her corner stating she’s a great person and a great mom. She just snapped.

I’m withholding judgement until all the facts are in. I wouldn’t wish this on any family and especially the kids. How sad…

  42. Gypsy DD says:

In answer to #40..THERE IS NO MENTAL HEALTH DEFENSE IN PA. HERE IF YOU DO THE CRIME..YOU DO THE TIME..WE’LL GLADLY HAVE A COUNSELOR COME VISIT THE GUILTY WEEKLY IN PRISON..BUT HERE..IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE INSANITY DEFENSE IT DOES NOT FLY. I AM PROUD IT IS THAT WAY.

  44. Angela says:

The only situation in which I would understand this scenario is a woman trying to get away from abuse. Many women in that situation would find jail a welcome alternative to being freely available to an abusive husband or even x-husband. She puts LE between her and him, the daughter goes back to the x-husband, and the other 2 kids? (Who are they staying w/ if the husband is “estranged”). I don’t know that this applies in this case at al… just sayin’.

Doesn’t the police and the FBI have more to do then chase around looking for this goof off making false reports. Let her spend a year or two in jail and see how smart she thinks she is then. When I first heard this story, my heart sank until I read the “2 black men”. HUGE red flag. I know if I was kidnapped, I wouldn’t care what color they were, just that there were 2 of them. Second, I don’t care that she went missing. I don’t care that she ran away. What I care about is the fact that she called into 911 and had everyone so frightened. That is where it all makes no sense. Maybe she was taking the little girl to Disney World before she killed her or something……

  48. riddlemethis says:

ABC 6 local just reported they are now investigating up to $1 million missing via embezzlement. $4K missing via cashed check from the 401K account belonging to the woman who gave Sweeten the driver’s license used to book the tickets.

Husband has no idea about the money allegations, she handles all the family finances. According to him they live well enough, but really just pay the bills, nothing lavish.

If I recall correctly, she left the job with the attorney a year ago, if ebezzlement is proven, might be the earliest recorded case of PPD on record, like 48 months or so before birth. Knabbing a $1 million or 300K is not usually a one time hit, the amount builds over time so as not to draw too much attention. And those little eggs add up quickly just like the grocery bill. I’ll be happy to apologize, like Blink always says, betting those around her are going to be scratching their heads; blindsided in the months ahead. It’s a shame.
