Haleigh Cummings Case: Pond in Putnam County Drained

BREAKING NEWS

Satsuma, FL–  In the latest developments in the case of missing 6 year old Satsuma girl Haleigh Cummings, deputies are searching the woods and draining a pond on Stokes Landing Road.

Haleigh

Neighbors have reported the roads to the pond have been blocked off, and the crew draining the pond have been on scene since Police dive teams were deployed to the pond Friday morning.

This development comes on the heels of the arrest of Hank Croslin, Misty Cummings brother less than 24 hours earlier on an unrelated firearms charge.

Hank Croslin’s wife Lindsay, his sister and Haleigh Cummings step-mother, Misty Cummings, were at Satsuma Police HQ Friday morning.

There are unconfirmed rumors that Misty Cummings is in police custody. Recently, Misty Cummings sought the help of Texas Equusearch founder Tim Miller. Through the efforts of TES attorney Mark Nejame, Misty took a series of lie detector tests Miller said she failed miserably.

Reached for comment this morning, Mark Nejame told blinkoncrime.com the pond was in fact being drained, but had no new information.

I think the police are withholding alot here. If they thought the letter was a farce then why did they drain the pond in the area mentioned in the letter? Anything they found (besides Haleigh of course) will not be divulged to the public, I think it would jeopardize the entire investigation. I cant help but feel they are oh so close…God bless Haleigh

    kyrasmommy,

I don’t think they drained the pond due to Nay Nay’s letter. It was was due to the “affidavit” that another party signed. Nay Nay in her letter to her boyfriend is trying to “refute” what is in the signed affidavit. After reading NG transcripts, it is slightly misleading. They make it sound like it was the “letter” to Nay Nay’s boyfriend that broke the case. Not so. But, this woman does seem to go out of her way to try to convince her boyfriend they were together. hmmmmm…..

I wish Blink was not right ,but I believe shes gone,Misty has known all along what happened,as her family members..but I see fire over and over again…oh and I’m not a witch.

Lol, with the witch stuff. I definately am, ask around :)
See ya at the cauldron, I mean, water cooler.

  5. kyrasmommy says:

Randie, yes I agree like “wink wink…I was with you” and would you really put that down on paper? not unless you “accidentally” want it to be found. These people are morons. Dont they read Blink?? :P

  6. Shae says:

Now it’s being reported that a mystery woman dropped off a letter at a Newspaper saying what happened to Haleigh. There is a video of the woman and police want to talk to her. The police are testing the letter and envelope for finger prints.

  7. dee says:

oh my gosh peeps am I ever going to live the witch comment down, give a girl a break :-)

TEASING!!!!! I was being self depricating.. It’s all good we are all friends here.

  8. Randie says:

    Thank you Shaefor the info.

Watched the video of the woman dropping off the letter. Hope someone comes forward and identifies her! The gentleman who turned the original letter over to police said that if the letter is accurate it is going to be volatile. Closer to closer????

  9. dee says:

hahaha thanks blink it is all good on my end. it gave me a chuckle! I have to laugh at it I didn’t really think it would spin folks up!

  10. Randie says:

Q: If The woman “wanted” to remain identified, why not just mail the letter? She personally handed the letter with all her fingerprints.

Q: Why not just take the letter to the police station? Maybe that would be information underwraps for awhile. At least by going to the Newspaper…..the info would imediately come out. It sounds like either someone wants this to end or a stunt. hmmmmm………

  11. dee says:

where is the link to the video of the woman dropping off the letter HELP me please…thanks!

  12. Randie says:

    dee,

Google it, just type in Haleigh’s name the word “woman” and the word “newspaper”. Almost each site has the video.

  13. Kleat says:

Maybe the woman was on her way to work, dropped it off for someone else, didn’t know what she was dropping off, or didn’t want to be held up all day in police questioning when she could be at work. OR, maybe she figured that the newspaper would publish first, give their source to the police, later. She was rather obvious, except for the sunglasses, which weren’t a huge disguise. Those scrubs would give her away– talk about a blue billboard!

  14. Kleat says:

SHOCKING– not for any contents, but does this editor display good common sense, caring for Haleigh, and ETHICS??!! Good for him… let’s see CBS, ABC or NBC national media display this level of professionalism to act responsibly.

“Prior said he cannot reveal what the letter says because it could hurt the Haleigh Cummings investigation.

However, Prior said at some point, he would like to reveal the details in a newspaper article.”

    (link in Angela_nw’s post above)

  15. Kleat says:

Did anyone notice that on the left of the woman’s top, was a NAMETAG?? Which seemed to be pinned on type, which would likely have the name of the facility she works at, if not her own name.

  16. Kleat says:

Do you also notice the ‘way’ the woman held the envelope? Held not on the flat sides, but held between fingers touching the ‘edges’ only. Hard to get a match of prints from her carrying it as seen on that video. Maybe others, but typed letter, bet it’s clean of prints. Typewriter or computer, typical paper, or specialty use, from work maybe, or home, watermarked or not.

  17. Kleat says:

All that trouble (not?) and she does not seem to worry about entering by pulling the door handle with a bare hand.

  18. dee says:

    thanks Angela!

  19. Randie says:

I too noticed the nametag and am assuming it will be examine a wholelot more closely.

But I never noticed how it was handed to the receptionist before. I wonder if anyone else touched the door handle after this woman? Maybe some time lapsed between Prior opening it to the actually dusting the handle………………..

  20. Randie says:

Can I throw someting stupid out there? Could it be……a man dressed like a woman? Sorry don’t mean to be so stupid.

I thought I had seen someone type that Mistys mom was on NG and I didnt watch it so didnt see it was Rons mom.
I guess someone is getting confused with moms and I got confused as well?….lol

I think I have them all down and they add another….

This is really starting to look like the Satsuma version of the ANthony case!

But at least these people had KCs script to follow….
Kc must be proud…. sorry thats all I will say

  22. dddeerma says:

Here’s hoping the contents of the new letter are made public soon. It is so good that there is serious movement here, but the waiting is hard. More and more I think this will end up as a horrific accident, with Misty not wanting to confess to her sometimes violent husband/bf that Haleigh died. That explains Misty leaving Ron just as all this heats up. I would not want to be living with Ron when NG puts it out to the entire world that he has been duped by a mentally slow little girl.

Of course, if this new letter means that there is a chance that Haleigh is alive, it is going to be happy dance time for all of us. SO here we are: waiting and wondering somemore.

  23. Kleat says:

Nancy, I think it was my post that was confuddling– I did see Ron’s mom on NG, but I didn’t post carefully enough about Misty’s mom, was confusing. Sorry.

  24. Kleat says:

Go back to the firstcoast news site (linked in Angela’s post) and see the update:

    Quote:
“ST. AUGUSTINE, FL — Detectives say they have spoken with the woman who dropped off a letter in St. Augustine last week about Haleigh Cummings.

According to Capt. Dick Schauland with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, she learned that detectives wanted to speak with her, so she came by the office voluntarily.

Detectives are not releasing the woman’s name or the contents of the letter, but they say she told them she was dropping it off for someone else.”

  25. Kleat says:

    More info: (source news4jax.com)

“It has to do with the whereabouts of Haleigh,” Putnam County Capt. Dick Schaulan said, and they wanted to talked to the woman to clarify the information. “If it doesn’t find Haleigh, it goes in the stack with a lot of the other tips.”

  26. dee says:

all i can say after seeing this video, is thank God someone had enough common sense to do right by this child, don’t know how much this will help but at least finally someone did the right thing she/he whatever is a hero in my book.

  27. Caly says:

local news (i am in jacksonville) is saying the “tipster” has voluntarily come forward & said she was delivering the letter for someone else.

police are saying the letter does not point fingers but does explain what happened to haleigh, if it’s legitimate. and they will not reveal the contents of the tip.

  28. Shae says:

The Gainesville Sun is reporting that the woman came forward and talked to LE today. Maybe there is something to it, I hope it’s legit and they find this baby!!

um Dee? you didnt spin me up,it was an attempt at humour (my last sentence),Blink knows that,I hope, if it makes you feel all warm and safe inside to call tarot readers and the like witches its all good,But I think the point of this forum is to share ideas, and thoughts, and try and make some kind of sense of things and hopefully make a difference I hope your cool with that.

Friend, she was referring to my “lighthearted” post , she has clarified and apologized for the witch comment, I am the one who made it about me, with affection. I so VALUE all respectful viewpoints. You and she and US are all cool with it. 33. JustDon'tUnderstand says:

On the woman and the letter thing, I was reading on the Orlando Sent. online that the editor, Mr. Prior, actually showed the letter to RON and his LAWYERS and together THEY took it to the police.

Something interesting there. Makes you wonder what exactly IS in that letter even more.

I admire Mr. Prior for not releasing the information just yet for not wanting to hinder the investigation, guess we will just have to wait and see what is going to happen now.

The heat is really turned up now! Hopefully Haleigh will come home soon!

  34. lily says:

  35. oneshot says:

seems to me that someone who’s acting as a courier, like this woman dressed in scrubs has done, may be delivering something typed at a law office. possibly from misty’s attorney’s office, delivered in such a way not to directly implicate misty?? that’s what i’m thinking right now.

consider that ron & this crew of drugged-up misfits probably don’t own a computer or know how to use one!!! (although i could be wrong)…consider that misty is ‘with a friend’ in some hotel in orlando/kissimmee…the same period of time that the pond is drained, misty fights with ron & runs off to the beach & disneyland area with the press & LE chasing her, naynay’s letter is disclosed, her mother’s arrested out-of-state, has a high bond, and gave her a vote of ‘no confidence’ before leaving the state, and now this “mystery letter.”

i would think that even misty (and she seems street-wise among other things) would turn to her attorney at this time, since she had failed to re:Tim Miller polygraph episode and perhaps learned a lesson. (is misty still represented by counsel? wouldn’t her attorney know what her status is and is sequestering her??)

i could be wrong about her attorney’s involvement at this point in the case, but it sure is interesting that she’s out of town, the typewritten letter providing possibly key information develops, and is delivered by someone who could be a “friend of a friend of the firm” sort of thing. it’s too sophisticated for what we’ve come to know as “normal operating procedures” for this particular group of ppl. jmho.

  36. bottomline says:

I believe it was JVM who said that Ron threw Misty out along with her clothes and told her never to return–everyone here seems to think she left on her own, anyone know the real story?

  37. lily says:

whew. unbelievable if the windchime thing turns out to be legit . . . if it is indeed true . . . LE has egg on their faces big time.

  38. kyrasmommy says:

Please tell me what the “windchime” thing is, Im lost over here.
    thanx

  39. suz says:

lol, that windchime thing is as good as my personal theory, which is that Misty (who was reportedly in Orlando yesterday) was visiting the Anthonys, and that Casey is the one who sent the tip in through a nurse friend of Cindy’s. Just kidding of course, but who knew the truth might also be odd.

  40. Mariann says:

I couldn’t find anything about a windchime. Can you fill us in? Also- Ron is supposed to be meeting up with Misty at Universal. That is where Misty has been staying. Her attorney said she left to rest and “clear her head”. Refraining from using drugs would be my first suggestion to her on how to do that!

Windchime, aka Terry Stipp, was the outed RSO who was the admin at Websleuths for many years. That’s all I know. On Scared Monkeys, they are/were discussing if the woman who dropped off “the tip” was her.
    B

  41. Mariann says:

    Gotcha! Thanks Blink!

  42. Mari says:

Oh my…if that was really Windchime then her wanting to dodge the cameras and fast makes allllllllll kind of sense now.

  43. Mari says:

Lily – no egg on the faces of LE for this one, but serious trouble for Terri if it was indeed her.

  44. suz says:

good lord, now both tot mom cases have a Universal connection? That is so odd, considering Ron had enough sense to distance himself from the Ants when they offered to help. Does Misty have an office there, too? Truth is stranger than fiction.

  45. karen657 says:

Thanks for that Blink. I actually went to scared monkeys and entered windchimes in the search box. LoL

  46. Kleat says:

I sure hope this letter is not a psychic connection and the three letters as a possible ‘signature line’ are not G.M.L.

  47. Randie says:

Posts haven’t come up for awhile so I am guessing that someone is alrady commenting about Ron seeing the letter…….I personally don’t see anything wrong with that, whith the exception if you are going to bring the father over with his atty then it is just to bring over Crystal and her atty. Both parents should have been given the letter to read at the same time.

  48. Mariann says:

Question……. What was Haleigh’s brother doing while she was supposidly at a party w/Misty? The new theory seems to point in the direction that Haleigh was killed somewhere else and her body dumped yet the brother was able to give details of what he “heard” or saw from within his own home. I doubt that someone that age would just make up lies.

  49. Sue says:

#185 – lily – Can you provide the link for scared monkeys/klaasend article on latest Haleigh/windchime? I cannot find a current article on Scared Monkeys that up dates the letter. Thanks
