Cold Springs, NY– A man walking along the shore of the Allegheny Reservior found apparent human remains according to Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

The Fisherman who found the remains, used a local business owners phone to call police and kept repeating “ I found a body..”  Scott Siller,  Onoville, NY native, told officials.

According to Bob Yhale, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, the remains were in an advanced state of decompostion, and are headed to the ECMC for examination and Identification. Blinkoncrime.com was able to learn from a source inside the investigation, a skull, which can be used for a possible dental records match, was among the recovery. The remains also appeared to be wearing clothing. A national alert has been issued for all outstanding missing persons cases. Famed Forensic Medical Examiner,        Dr. Michael Baden, has jurisdiction in this case.

The family of missing Jamestown, NY woman, Corrie Anderson, has been in contact with the NY State Police, and are aware of the discovery. They will not comment on whether or not they believe the remains to be the missing Mother of 3, until positively identified.

Corrie Anderson, went missing last October 28th.after stopping home briefly before a meeting.

Although a person of interest has not been named in her disappearance, Police questioned Corrie’s estranged husband, Ken Anderson, and several search warrants were executed on his property.

A search warrant was NOT executed on the property of his Father, George Anderson. The Cold Spring Mine, located on Mr. Anderson’s property at 353 Ivory Rd, Frewsburg, NY has a tributary running from the mine directly into the reservoir. It is unclear at this time if there is any connection.

Hey Blink, That is great. If it is Corrie then her family can get some much needed closure. If it is a different lost soul then I hope they make their way home as well.

I pray that the remains are identified quickly.

    How long before we know?
If the remains are identifiable by dentals, within the next 2 days, it is my understanding that was started yesterday. There is nobody willing to go on record with whether or not they think it is Ms. Anderson without a positive ID which is understandable.

There is nobody missing from that county, and the body/remains were clothed, so we can at least assume it was not a natural occurance. My prayers go out to the family, whomever this person belongs to.

Do you personally have any guesses of who this might be?

I hope you understand I don’t think that is appropriate, I know the remains are in the hand of a top notch anthropologist, and expect an ID to be made.

There are a few missing person cases in the area..Josephine Despard vanished from Olean New York which is in Cattaraugus County in 1984 she has never been found I cant understand why police are saying there are no open cases from the county..Also there is Corrie Anderson (obviously) Lori Ceci Bova went missing from Lakewood NY in 1997 and Damien Sharp from Warren PA.

My heart goes out to Corrie’s family. I know they are happy this is not her but it would’ve been a end to not knowing. God bless the family who has finally found their loved one. Thank you Blink.

  9. I am a NYS Licensed PI and have been working on the Sandra Sollie Case, Probono. She went missing in 1994 from Macedon, NY. She was 7 MOnths pregnant. Doe Network file# 488DFNY. I publisize the case every year and do follow-ups. Working with the NYS Police Cold Case Squad. I am wondering if these remains mauy possibly be hers?

Mr. Ingraham, I will forward your info to detectives, I deleted from this post publically-
From my personal knowledge of the remains, I do not think that is possible, due to the level of decomposition of the skeleton found. However, my best wishes in your case.

New Information on Remains Found in Southern Tier

Buffalo, NY (WKBW) — The skeletal remains found last week in Cattaraugus County do not belong to long-time missing woman Lori Bova.

This information coming today following further examination of the remains. Officials last week confirmed that the remains were not those of missing mother Corrie Anderson.

The forensics have revealed that the bones do belong to a female between 30 and 40-years old, and between 5’1″ and 5’8″.

I’ve been trying to find updates on the remains found at the Allegany Resevoir; there hasn’t been anything in the print media for at least 2 days.

I fear it may be a while, I believe they need to go the DNA extraction route. I will post if I hear anything.
