Charlottesville, VA– Just passing the month mark, the disappearance of Morgan Harrington from the John Paul Jones Area located on the UVA campus, leaves us with more questions than answers. Part II

The Faces of Her Facebook

Help Find Morgan Harrington was developed by a few concerned individuals interested in spreading the word about Morgan’s disappearance and boasts over 30,000 members. Not all posts are welcome.

NelsonIn particular, a member by the name of Nelson Kane was recently banned for posting very detailed hypothesis scenarios that sparked a firestorm of interest in the self-appointed athlete scout. His posts were deleted at the request of Law Enforcement who admit tasking two officers with monitoring the web for such activity in Morgan’s case.

Additionally, Mr. Kane reached out to several individuals on facebook as well as the Harrington family’s findmorgan.com site in attempts to speak to the family directly and request an interview. The Harrington’s were made aware of the concern for such requests by sources close to the investigation.

He has recently changed his facebook drastically. Nkoldfacebook

Mr. Kane, a member of the family owning the longtime furniture store of the same name in Charlottesville is also a UVA alumni and season ticket holder. In addition to UVA, Kane also claims to have attended Virginia Tech on many of his many social networking profiles. He also fancies himself as somewhat of a Rock band critic.

On his site, nkscouting.com which he has maintained Nkane1since 2001, Kane chronicles his trips to scout mostly High School basketball and football athletes. In an effort to make his site more interesting (his words) he details the travel experience, routes, times and in some cases photos of his visits to High Schools mostly within a few hours driving distance.

Very early on in Morgan’s case, blinkoncrime.com explored the idea that perhaps the double murder of VT freshmen David Metzler and Heidi Childs on August 27th should be investigated as a possible link to Morgan’s case simply because they attend the school and Morgan and Heidi bare a remarkable resemblance to one another.

As far as very odd coincidences go, the location of Nelson Kane’s scouting foray the evening of the August 28th could not be more relevant.

Kane scouted the game at Jefferson Forest High School. The very Kane0828School Heidi Childs graduated from a year earlier. Unlike most of Kane’s other journal entries of his athlete accolades, there is no mention of his travel experience to or from Forest High School so it is unclear where he left from, when he got there, or when he returned home.

This is in no way an accusation that Mr. Kane had any involvement whatsoever in such a heinous crime, of course, but given his proclivities for leaving at all hours of the day and night his keen attention to travel detail and familiarity with the area: Perhaps he saw someone or something amiss in his trip that could help investigators.

Nk1017a

On Saturday October 17th, Kane scouts a game, listens to the UVA football game on his way home and is home in plenty of time to make the concert.

Blink how do you know he was at the concert you ask? I do not. I do know he knows alot about security at the JPJ Arena, how to navigate the different lots near Uhall, and of course that there are blue portable lavatories next to Lanigan Field. His posts from the Charlottesville Daily Progress below:

Even with purse on shoulder or on their back the cell phone usually never leaves the hand. Especially if it is capable of taking pic. It is usally attached like glue.

  2. mjh says:

I think the most important thing for me is whether or not Morgan went outside of her own free will, or if she was, in fact, escorted out.

If she left on her own, I would think that she was going to meet someone. It was planned, and her friends would know “who” she was supposed to be meeting. But, for me, if that were the case — unless it was someone who told her he could get her backstage or something –it seems she would have waited until after the concert to meet this person.

If she was escorted out, as someone on here states that their husband witnessed, then she had no intention of ever leaving the arena. At this point, this seems more likely.

If she said to her friend “I’m gonna go find some cute guy to buy me a beer”, then, her friend may have said “Ok, good luck….see you in a little while” and kissed her on the cheek.

But, it seems that something had to have happened where she fell and hit her chin, if she was actually seen in the ladies room and in the smoking area crying with a cut chin. Are these accounts fact or not?
This is the problem. She couldn’t be escorted out with no cut on her chin, but yet seen in two places inside the arena crying with a cut on her chin.

Without the real facts, it is very difficult to put together what really happened.

The only thing that is confirmed is that she was talking with the basketball players. I think we know that as a fact. The rest is all unclear.

Lisa, I know he was arrested for a parole violation and given 9 months. He was jailed mid-march. Chances are very good he didn’t have to serve the entire 9 months. He could be out now.

  4. NYMom says:

    You’re welcome, Word Girl.

Sometimes the most wonderful families appear cohesive but have surprising issues and secrets. I mean no disrespect to MH’s family, and wish them all possible success in finding Morgan. To that end, I think the following possiblity, granted a long shot, needs to be considered. If it is so, there may be hope.

In #194, Hudsunn questions elements of MH’s case that at times I have been wrestling with, too. I’m reminded of one poster on FB back when the posting was getting ugly over there a week or two ago–although the FB poster (let’s call her Whisky) eventually became defensive and nasty, I was bothered by what she claimed.

She said that she herself had run away some time ago from a family that was, in her words, sucking the life out of her. Whisky claimed that she herself had planned her own departure for a long time, and intimated that the info available at the time about Morgan made her think that Morgan had done the same: choose a time and place where everyone else would be distracted and tied up for a while, then make a break. Whisky said, in response to other FBers’ skepticism, “You don’t understand–you have to have a PLAN.” It rang true to me.

For a girl as pretty as MH to not have a romantic relationship seems a little odd. For her to have a clandestine one with a person her parents would not approve of, not so much.

I have an under-17 teen D. I have become less and less involved in her clothing choices (drawing the line at allowing a plumber’s butt to leave my house). For a mature 20 y/o to be bringing home clothes and having her mom help her choose what to wear to a Metallica concert did seem unusual to me. This is the same girl who was the one to wear a RED prom dress while all the other Eight out of Nine wore white. To me, that’s individuality and a little rebelliousness in the face of, “But I thought we were all wearing white!”

Is it possible that she showed her mother this Pantera outfit on purpose, because MH knew she’d be wearing other clothes later, and making people think she looked one way would throw them off? Could it be that she did plan to go off with someone, and has, and maybe is still alive and well?

OTOH, maybe MH and a superficially intriguing friend initially planned for a romantic interlude, but that now it’s gone terribly wrong? An obsessive older/Internet BG?

Are any males missing in the VT community? Any recent unexplainable suicides (i.e., no notes, no reasons family/friends can provide)?

Do they have Morgan’s passport? I wonder if the Harringtons have traveled to places, foreign or domestic, that Morgan especially liked and might want to visit again. VALE should notify LE there.

Finally, does MH have a history of trying different hair colors?

    Sorry, just needed to ask.

  5. TwigW. says:

    Hello Blink, Hello all,
    1. It would be interesting to know if unidentified male friend is over 21.
    2. Is there a “beer garden” at this arena, as at some arenas, where you have to have a wristband or ID to get in, or could beer be bought by someone and given to someone else?
    3. If beer had somehow gotten into the hands of a minor at the arena, and said minor is possibly ejected, maybe injured, maybe even by an employee, and subsequently disappears, and some or all of it had been captured on video, would surveillance tape containing this person be erased due to liability?
    4. Was grabbing of “kickee” an attempt to breeze by security and get back inside? Should I have inferred this already?

  6. SuzeeB says:

    Snipped from Blinks report

“One thing is clear. The fastest way to turn an active case cold is to frustrate the public with inconsistencies and unclear information”

Boy does this say it all…….

  7. Megan says:

The only part of this mystery that is FACTUAL is that MH is missing, they found her purse (I’m guessing it had I’d in it and her mom ID it) and that she at one point was at the concert (if her friends have confirmed this) and that she left.

Anything other than this is up for debate. Heck, we don’t even know if a crime was commited.

Pointing fingers at people such as NK and some of the other people named on this site is short of a witch hunt.

Since you bring up debate- what are your points of information to counter what has been presented here?

Observer I think your input is very insightful and useful to all of us. I hope you will continue to post here. I did not find your comments at all “snarky”. I consider you a be “gentleman” poster! :)
I know that you stated in your post that your focus is not on NK, and is elsewhere. If you feel comforable enough to expand on that here, I know PamTx and I would be interested in hearing your opinion.

I too apologize to questioner.(LOL) I didn’t mean anything personal by it either. Thanks for your contributions.

  9. SuzeeB says:

I think the running away scenario is a stretch but it is always possible and worth a look. She could have “planned” something with someone and it went wrong. I would think at least she would have taken clothes with her. Did she have an extra set of keys on her to get luggage and other belongings from the trunk of her car. Are any of her clothes missing from her apartment? The passport idea is good. Correspondence on computer. I would assume LE has checked all these avenues by now.

Even if she did “run away” with someone or just to start a new life would she be this cruel as to not let her family know she was all right. Why set it up to look like something more nefarious happened to her. Morgan would certainly know the Country is looking for her early on. She would have to stay in hiding. What kind of a new start is that? Yes you would definitely need a plan but you would mostly need MONEY and a lot of it.

After listening to her parents, so much love, closeness. I just cant by it.

  10. questioner says:

Not a problem chad. Thanks for the appoly.

  11. questioner says:

I’m going to go ahead and say what’s on my mind, and Blink, if this isn’t appropriate then delete.

Sex Trafficking, is alive and well, even in Virginia. I’ve been reading up on it, and a 50 year old man was convicted and jailed not to long ago for trafficking:

Marvin Leigh Madkins (age 29, of Virginia) sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for sex trafficking of minors and transporting minors across state lines for prostitution. A federal jury had found Madkins guilty of those charges on March 6, 2009.

According to evidence presented at trial, Madkins recruited two minors from the state of Virginia to engage in prostitution in Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida, knowing that force, fraud, or coercion would be used to cause the minors to engage in commercial sex acts. Madkins promised the minors that if they would serve as prostitutes in Virginia for a short period of time, they and he would earn enough money to go to Florida for an extravagant vacation. Madkins also told the minors that, once in Florida, he would obtain cocaine, sell it, and use the proceeds from the drug sales to fund trips to Miami, Atlanta, and New York.

After Madkins engaged the minors in prostitution in Virginia, the minors rode with Madkins on a Greyhound Bus to Jacksonville using false names on tickets that Madkins had obtained. Within days of their arrival in Jacksonville, the minors were required to engage in prostitution to pay for hotels, food, and other items. Madkins engaged the minors in prostitution from a number of local hotels and obtained multiple customers using various methods, including Internet postings on Craigslist.

This isn’t the only article that I’ve located. Is it possible that Morgan got herself somehow mixed up in this, AND the biggest problem that I have is that NK is a member of 中文(简体) community. I know that this is called Simple Chinese but why is he interested in that particular community?

  12. radiogirl says:

Law enforcement has asked for help tips and the like, hence no witch hunt.

NK made himself a character in this case, otherwise who would have known him from the thousands of others who were at that event.

So far house money here is on NK being the guy who called girlfriend to tell on Morgan look alike girl who roughed him up a bit.

Thousands of crimes get solved every year by great police +investigative reporters researchers+ public telling what they know.

  13. PamTX says:

#207 – I don’t believe Observer is going anywhere, and let us hope not. His (?) comments have kept my wandering thoughts in check. It’s far too easy for me to lose my focus and I have a tendency to go with gut feelings. Not always wise for me.

Observer has posted on the below thread recently – #425:
Morgan Harrington Case: State Police Say She Was Hitchhiking
Posted by Blink | Missing Persons, Morgan Harrington | Friday 13 November 2009 2:31 pm

And as Blink has stated, with “fervor” :) . I love that word. And, I too, am interested in a more in-depth look at his theory. If he is anything like Blink, we may never know more than what he has shared already —- which is extremely valuable — as Blink herself tends not to share too much of her “deepest opinions”, so as not to hinder the moving forward of discussion. For me, I want to know everything everyone has to say – lol :) .

  14. PamTX says:

“Question mark” in my last post is because I believe Observer to be a “he” – yes?

  15. radiogirl says:

Post 157 thank you for your articulate post. You zeroed in on and fine tuned on points that I feel are most important when an issue like that comes up.

  16. lily says:

This is just a question – not anything more than that – is it likely that a young woman, from a prominent family, a college girl with lots of friends would be a target for sex traffickers?

I can understand how runaway teens and young women with drug addictions or without a support system find themselves in compromising situations and end up in the clutches of these ‘people’ eager to take advantage of those situations. They don’t have people looking for them. They aren’t noticed. Easily manipulated.

I think its hard to imagine that with the risks involved – that a young woman like Morgan would be a target for that. Unwilling, non-addicted, high-profile, media attention, reward money, etc. All of this would add up to more of a liability than anything (IMO)

  17. chad says:

PamTx I just came back from another MH thread, wow did I miss a power post from observer! My glasses are still on and they are foggy.
Yes, I believe he to be a he too. I hope he will “share” with us his theory. In re reading some of his pasts posts, he does reveal a limited version of his theory.
I know, but both blink and Observer, prob cannot say “all” for ob reasons. Let’s see if observer posts.
Oh, kudos to you and great post by the way to NK.

Did she have an extra set of keys on her to get luggage and other belongings from the trunk of her car. Are any of her clothes missing from her apartment? The passport idea is good.”

When I was first teaching years ago in a rough neighborhood, school safety officers checked students for weapons before entering the building on Halloween. They told us that it was necessary, but what was more important was that the night before, boys went around the neighborhood of the school and stashed “weapons” in nooks and crannies so they could access them the next day as soon as they exited the building. They’d be ready to rumble but bypass the safety officers and the school rules. (I thought they were exaggerating until I stuck my hand in a metal sculpture near the building and found a “pre-set” flour-filled sock to be used to hit other kids with–not a deadly weapon, but proving the safety officers’ point.

Magicians use the same thinking: plan ahead by rigging the stage/set/trick/assistant/top hat beforehand; then misdirect; then POOF!

  19. lizzy says:

I’ve been thinking a lot about phones and phone calls, and have unfortunately dribbled those posts across a number of threads. But I just had a thought (maybe old to the rest of you) about what she said to her friend(s) when they called. If she told them she was out and that she would “find a way back” that could be “find a way back in” or “find a way back home.” They may have assumed the former initially, and until she wasn’t around after the concert and they changed their minds to the latter. Especially given that they were in a noisy arena. Who knows how many times they tried to call her later, before convincing themselves that they had misunderstood.

This gets me looking at other events outside with a different perspective, fwiw.

  20. lizzy says:

In a similar, looking at assumptions from another perspective way, I am reconsidering the friends’ decision to leave. It has been speculated that maybe they were used to her exhibiting irresponsible behavior, as an explanation as to why they weren’t more alarmed. I think that it could be just the opposite. Maybe Morgan was so typically competent and self-reliant that they just didn’t even imagine that she couldn’t take care of herself.

  21. PamTX says:

Chad and radiogirl – Appreciate your kind words, as I have appreciated so many of your/everyone else’s input. Checking him off of my “higher IQ” list. Chad, I too have been interested to see a possible profile and found yours to be interesting.

My heart just bleeds for this family and I cannot find the words any longer.

Thank you Blink, for your continuing coverage on Morgan’s case. Your passion and tenancity leaves me speechless.

Q to Blink: Has the police report regarding the location of the purse changed your opinion of where it was originally reported to have been found?

My own original thought was that it was found at Lannigan and walked to the blue phone for reporting purposes. When I pulled up the maps and saw the location of the blue phones, it confirmed my opinion on this. I could be wrong, but have wondered what your thoughts were one this.

As crazy as it may sound to others, the first thing I would have looked at in the Lannigan area, would have been holes in the sod area from Morgan’s boot heels.

    Pam-
My opinion has changed on a few levels, Mostly, I do not understand the philosophy behind the lack of investigative dialog with le. This is not a criticism, they may have their reasons, but this case is in danger of stalling .

  22. lisa says:

Sue, I hadn’t thought about him being out early. I was thinking December. :(

  23. suz says:

lizzy, DID the friends leave? This is another one of those confusing areas to me where we seem to have multiple versions of the truh. Some say they went home afterwards. Some say they stuck around the parking lot for an hour or in case she showed up. Some say they spent the night in town with friends and went back to the arena in the morning in case she came back there (maybe they had left messages on her phone saying something like, “hey, haven’t heard from you and your phone is off, not sure where you are, we’ll meet you tomorrow morning at JPJ at nine” or something).

  24. questioner says:

Since you mentioned the Lannigan Field area. Even though this was a few days after Morgan’s disappearance, I find this interesting. The UVA Basketball players last spoke with Morgan in this lot, and her purse was supposidly found there also. Of course now there is talk that the purse was actually found in the “Cage” lot.

  25. roxie says:

LE has made TWO searches for MH around the Comfort Inn at Pantops, right next to Kohr Brothers Ice Cream as I posted…. I thought there might be a connection why LE would have searched there twice , ? some link to NK posts. also there is a large barn and property for sale there. down the road is the Sleepy Hollow trailer park that only has 4 families left there including a registered sex offender. then a little further down is a rental storage facility and UPS warehouse..
other than the search around UVA this seems to be where LE had leads.

  26. chad says:

    PamTx

    The heel imprint. Excellent observation.

My feeling now……. as much time that has gone by, we need to focus on the bigger picture. I know it could make a big difference as to what “lot” the purse was found in and which way she was on the bridge…….these small details could spur the or spark a memory of that night, but the memory doesn’t get better with time, it only clouds what would have been fresh early on in the investigation.
LE needs to move forward with focusing on the who what and wheres. Who took her, where is she and what have they done with her. The location of the purse, wheres the phone battery, etc……. is not going to find Morgan.
Just my opinion at this point.
I know, an unlikely possiblity, but at this point why not? My proposed alternate venue of the post on the other MH thread, was inspired by a local case here in my area. Evidence somewhat similar in that there wasn’t any clues…….I am beginning to think that this was an experience criminal of some kind. Serial may be far fetched, but I guess since whatever LE is doing now, isn’t producing Morgan at this point.

  27. lizzy says:

suz, I don’t know WHEN the friends left, but it seems that sooner or later they left the arena without calling parents or LE. It would have been a tough decision imo.

  28. wpgmouse says:

    roxie, hello

Is that the same area the “State Farm” search was made?

I am seeing the location of Kane Furnite, the JPJ Arena and the Copeley Bridge, then going out 250 or Ivy Rd. I will just say that any area that would be frequented regularly by anyone using that route would be a good bet to be searched.”

  31. J2K says:

With so little fresh info coming from LE, and with much of the public’s knowledge of the case based on witness hearsay, I agree it’s important to take into account what bits ARE known to be unequivocally true. Of that short list of facts, by far the most significant, imo, is the missing cell-phone battery. As far as we know, it and MH are both unaccounted for, despite painstaking ground searches in the area.

One would think a savvy perp might yank the battery from the phone and toss it at the site of the crime so his movements with MH would not be pinging off a nearby cell tower – no battery, no trace. But the phone was left and the battery is allegedly missing, too.

I’m interested to know if the battery has been found, or if its absence is indeed significant in someway to LE.

  32. lizzy says:

In one of the earlier interviews, Dan H. said that he and Gil and Morgan had a great relationship “for the past 6 months.” I can’t find it back at the moment, but recall it because it raised a question for me about what happened 6 months ago?

Is that when she moved out of their home into an apartment? When she broke up with a boyfriend and started spending more time at home? Some problem ended? Or just a new phase in their relationship?

It’s none of our business, but I hope LE have investigated anyone who may have been part of her life/lifestyle before the last 6 months.

  33. sweetpea says:

    Blink,
I have been concerned with this case stalling as well. As a matter of fact IMPO if truth be told, it already has to some degree.

The thing I am having the most trouble with is the fact that there is no pictures of Morgan anywhere.

Not one camera shoot, cell photo, someone in close proximity to where she was seated. If there is a pic; why would LE not release it???

Pic’s of Dee show up, but nothing of Morgan.

I keep thinking that maybe LE are holding things back and they had their reasons, but come on it has been a month and nothing. If their was a photo of Morgan it should have been released immediately. “Amber Alert” style.

  34. J2K says:

You’ll all have to forgive me preachin’-to-the-choir observation above – I’m new to this (amazing) site, and in scanning other threads following my post, I saw that the missing battery – and what that implies – has been thoroughly pondered. The LE/security angle certainly would explain the apparent seamless nature of the MH disappearance at such a public venue…

  35. Candice Bond says:

I have a couple of questions:

    1. If you were at a concert with a friend who is also your roommate and she told you she would find another way home at least 2 hours before the concert ended, what would you do upon arriving home with her car and not finding her there? Would you go to bed and only become concerned when her dad called your phone the next day?

    2. If the above did happen, wouldn’t you have let dad’s call go to voicemail so you could try to call your friend/roommate to give her the heads up on her dad looking for her? Why would you answer the phone and recite the events and take her car back to dad’s house?

    3. Would you then lawyer up?

    Think about it…

  36. sweetpea says:

    One more theory:

What if Morgan was intoxicated or on drugs when they arrived at the concert.

Friends (and I say that loosely) leave her in the car. They go to concert without Morgan. Maybe even sell her ticket.

Morgan wakes up and tries to get in concert, but can’t get in.

  37. lizzy says:

Noticed another 6 months ago comment–Gil said Morgan quit smoking 6 months ago.

  38. lizzy says:

And, of course, the Metallica tickets were on the frig for 6 months.

All a coincidence, are were the Metallica tickets an incentive to quit smoking? Maybe coming home more because she wasn’t as tempted then? If that’s all the 6 months were about, then irrelevant. Just seemed like that time period came up a lot when it came to Morgan.

  39. sweetpea says:

    Blink,

One more thing; No pictures of Morgan, do you know if there were
any pictures of her friends taken during the concert?

  40. suz says:

lizzy, I get you—the friends did indeed leave at some point. I imagine they were worried about her from the time she didn’t make it back in for the concert, but…? I guess they would have called her folks eventually when they didn’t hear from her, but the dad called first.

Trying to think what I would have done at that age. Would have been torn between wanting to tell someone and not wanting to get her (or myself) in trouble by telling.

  41. wpgmouse says:

    #235
    Candice Bond

Just so I may get my thoughts together on this, you are saying you do not believe Morgan ever made it to the concert, yes?

  42. NewGuy says:

wpgmouse, comment 228- No, the State Farm site is about 1.5 miles west on 250, closer to Charlottesville. The State Farm site is in fact the site of the new Martha Jefferson Hospital, so it is a site of active construction.

roxy, comment 225 – Yes, very interesting that multiple searches at that Comfort Inn. From what I read, there were multiple witnesses stating they saw an MH look-alike in the parking lot.

I’m still baffled by the Pantops searches, it’s not really close nor far from JPJ. Just does not fit…

  43. jen says:

Regarding the whole six months thing….did she quit smoking and possibly repair a relationship with her parents because she had been to some sort of rehab? Totally hypothetical…
It’s glaringly obvious that morgan is quite thin in many photos and has a much fuller figure and face in others. To me this could mean several things…was Morgan ever pregnant? Was Morgan involved in some sort of lifestlye, ie; drugs or an eating disorder, for which she was treated???
Again this is totally hypothetical but the photos beg the questions.

  44. Word Girl says:

Gil has emphasized how carefree Morgan was…no worries. It seems that the friends might have had a lot of the same point of view. A kind of “we all share cars, we all keep secrets, we all do what we want” may have been their mantra. If they thought she’d hooked up, they wouldn’t have worried, as that kind of behavior was deemed ‘safe enough.’ (Afterall, she wouldn’t sleep with a creep, would she?)

They were likely still sleeping when Dad called the next day at noon. Not really a chance to worry yet.
Besides, as one astute poster put it, Morgan was very confident and self-reliant.

I feel like I want to shake them all, but really, they may be totally innocent. Not too smart, maybe.

Excellent theory sweetpea….Especially since it there isn’t video footage of Morgan in the concert…

candace it could happen but only if friend -was- worried all night into morning ,factor in what time she/friend awoke, and how many times friend called morgan between concert over and 12 oo noon next day,i am interested in exactly wording/timing of friends statements.

235 Lets say the room mate did answer to dads call and told him her version of events and drove Morgans car to her parents home……

WHAT was the room mates story of all details of before during and after…..IF I knew those details….but we don’t have them.
Where have you been made aware of room mates lawyering up?Suspended basket ball players, silent witnesses,a so called middle aged scout of God knows what on the prowel (IMHO).WHAT HAPPENED to precious Morgan?

  48. Ashley Wilkes says:

Early on, it was mentioned in one of the newspaper articles that Morgan had been attending James Madison Univ and had transferred to VTech, which was close enough to home to allow for almost daily visits. No mention as to why, after two years a JMU, she transferred to VT, though, which would be interesting to know.

Candice, good points. I supposed the might have thought from the caller ID that it was Morgan calling from her folks’ place. Maybe that’s why they took the call.

Of course, we have no idea what the friends told him, because that has never been revealed. For all we know, they told him a very different version of events than we have been led to believe. LE always says what happened inside the arena doesn’t matter (they only care about what happened outside). But what DID happen inside that resulted in a cut chin and ending up outside?

  50. mjh says:

    Hi Candice,

I was under the impression that the girls were not planning on going home that night, and that they stayed overnight at someone else’s house. So, maybe she thought that Morgan went home? But, when she got there the next morning, Morgan was not there. Then, she would probably take the dad’s call, possibly thinking Morgan had gone to his house instead.

I do think it would cause me concern if I was unable to reach my friend by phone after 8:48PM, though, due to the circumstances of her supposedly ending up outside unintentionally. UNLESS, I KNEW who she was supposed to be getting a ride from, and figured she was out having a good time with them somewhere.

I don’t understand why they would get a lawyer, though.
