Orlando, FL– On the Eve of the New Year, it struck me that I have yet to form my New Years’ Resolution, and hopefully, impart one to the dedicated readers of blinkoncrime.com.

Caylee4

After reading this comment from a longtime reader and poster, I realized it would be the basis of what I will ask of you in the coming year.

I guess I’m still alone in not begrudging the Ants any of the media money they collect. I know everyone’s mad at them for not publicly turning against their daughter, and for not helping the state firm up a death penalty case against her, and I get that, but I still have trouble mustering up hatred for them. I don’t think they’re particularly likable or even sympathetic characters—I think that’s why I can’t seem to hate them correctly. I see them as foibled and broken and just so regularly human that I kind of feel compassion for their situation.

I think it’s probably a misconception that they’re rolling in the dough. They’re not working right now. Cindy had to clean out her retirement fund thanks to the two losers she more or less supports, and who more or less have robbed her blind over the past many years. They have lawyers and godnoze who else sucking money out of them prolly as quickly as it comes in. Their grandchild is dead, their daughter is facing death—it sucks. I’m pretty positive that none of us would want to trade places with them. Not that you guys wouldn’t conduct yourselves differently than the Ants. You’re probably less screwed up than they are.

I wouldn’t want to walk a mile in their shoes, and I’m grateful that I won’t have to. But I am also quite sure that I can’t fully imagine what it feels like to be them. Everyone hates them. People surely still heckle them, threaten them, shun them, spit on them, attack them—day after day, relentlessly!—viciously on blog after blog, calling them names, making just horrible assumptions and speculations about them and wild claims against them. Mobs are not warm and fuzzy, whether they are storming your gates with pitchforks and torches, or lobbing negativity and vitriol at you over the ‘net.

(Oh, dear, I must be feeling the full weight of 2009 upon me. Reflection is a dangerous thing, lol.) At any rate, here’s wishing all the Blinksters a safe and happy and fulfilling 2010, hopefully with many fewer human tragedies for us to chime in on.

I think this perspective is a very fair one, and I share it. My response:

 Suz-

I do not hate these people. I hate their behavior.

I hate that they enabled this girl for so long she never got the help, I feel, she desperately needed.

I hate that a 34 month old baby paid the price for it.

I hate that they have lied to protect the woman responsible for it.

I hate that they do not get that their job now, is to restore the dignity of that baby, and to warn others what can happen when one enables their child to the extent of actual lying and covering up for her, her entire life.

I stole a pack of Kool Aid when I was a kid ( that must be where it all started..) and my Mom drove me back to Food Lane and made me hand it to the manager and apologize.

The rest of my feelings are probably peppered throughout this site.

I do not want people to blindly hate the Anthony’s. I want them to learn the lessons they are supposed to, in the hopes this tragedy can be prevented where it might not have been previously, for someone else.

Imo, hate gets people nowhere. It prevents us from self-asessing and making the crooked places straight.

Happy New Year to You as well Suz.

B

To add to the above, I will share with you that my biggest fear in the conclusion of this case, is that hate, for anyone involved, wins out.

The easiest thing in the world to do is to cast dispersions and  launch the atomic hate grenade. I am asking all of you to instead of sitting in the smokescreen that ensues, to open your heart to the real issue here.

Caylee Marie Anthony, in her short time on Earth, loved these people, unconditionally.

Maybe the way to break through to them is to just respect that part of their relationship. Momentarily, can I ask us to have a collective recall of a photo we have seen of Caylee with them? Full of life, love, and happiness.

I know they read here, so let me be the first to say that while I will continue to work to affect a successful prosecution in this case; I want you to know:

I know you loved her more than anything.

I know you would do everything differently if you could.

I know what happened to Caylee was not your fault, but you know who is responsible.

I know that you are struggling for a way to make this right.

I know that your ability to do so on your own may be shortly out of your control.

I know that people will understand your motivations for how this all started if you are simply, honest. I know people have a great capacity for forgiveness.

For me, the thought of Caylee’s death turning into nothing more than a bank account for some, and platform to spread hate, turns my stomach.

If hate wins, that is all it will ever be to those that we need to affect changes that will help someone else. The cycle continues.

I think Caylee deserves for her death to matter in a way for her legacy to be the focus of our energy. Please join me.

(editors note: For anyone who reads this and thinks Blink has gone soft, you know me better than that. I am just sick of the viral toxin shower that some seem to have taken before they comment on this case. It needs to end)

If Casey planned to implement a kidnap tale after the accident or deliberate killing of Caylee, then why such a lamebrained effort?

Are we back to a mentally challenged Casey? A whacko Casey? Or one who knew that she’d only have to explain things to her parents and brother and so little effort had to be given to the story since they believed anything she said? But they didn’t.

A real kidnapping plan, a more believable plan, would simply be to say an unknown perp stole Caylee. Not a trusted friend and employee. Or “I looked away for a moment while shopping and Caylee was gone!”

Lee asked Casey, “Is this like the other time?” and she said it wasn’t. Were they probably prepared for Caylee to go missing given past history?

Yeah, I am confused because Casey’s lies are so tranparent even to her cheering squad of Anthonys.

  2. Alegna says:

I apologize in advance if this has been brought up already. I was reading CA’s docs with LB last night. On page 231 Cindy states, “Rayan Pailsey actually said that he knew a couple private investigators in Jacksonville and he said he would call them. And I think Casey e-mailed him a current picture of Caylee. It was probably the one you showed me the other day, yesterday of Caylee in Ricardo’s apartment.”

If Cindy is being truthful in her depo, that puts Casey at the center of this picture, being the one who put this picture out to the public in the first place.

That is actually in reference to a different pic where Caylee is wearing her little blue dress, but is in fact the pic I referenced from the FBI interview

By far the shirt. That’s irrefutable.

Blink, will Ricardo Morales face any charges and/or be subpoenaed for selling these photos? It saddens me how a mind and heart can turn so quickly from grief to greed, especially where the death of a precious little girl is concerned. What was he thinking? (I include the Anthony’s in that comment).

And I’m sorry if this has been asked…..but ‘who’ photoshopped these photos? RM? How could Cindy be so anxious to offer these pics to LE if she knew they were not the real deal?

Dumb questions probably considering how they’ve handled this tragedy all along.

    What photos?

  6. Kleat says:

The other day I came across a docstoc (I think it was) list of the people in the A case and saw for my first time, a photo of Casey with Cindy at Rick’s wedding. It was, what else, a ‘GLOBE’ story photo, or cover.

Now where would that photo possibly come from except family, likely the people who had the photo themselves, maybe taken by themselves (no George or Lee in the photo). Interesting to find out when this was published to get some clue as to why it would be chosen– yes, it’s a preggy pic, but why would the defense want to show it, except a happy pregnant daughter with happy mother, a happy image of a happy family at a happy event, all is good.

If this photo was taken by a professional photographer doing candid photos of the wedding and reception, then that photographer would be the one to sell it if repro or publication rights were retained. But my guess would be Casey or Cindy provided it to the defense, and for some reason, the photo was chosen as good for Casey’s image. Not hiding her preg’cy for one thing.

To see who was selling Casey photos to the Globe, it would be good to take a look at all the images published, what dates, and what was happening or known in the case at the time?

So many great posts here that make me go nuts remembering things.
MsEnscene, the back and forth between Casey and Lee that you quoted is probably key somehow. Had to be a reason he would say that.

The one exchange that should blow any doubt away is the 911 call where Casey basically is perturbed that she has to get on the phone and talk to the dispatcher. There wasn’t any pretense of fear, it was her sour, bratty attitude of why do I need to.
What a pawn Caylee was. It’s a shame she still is.

  8. Kleat says:

What immunity do you think Dom Casey will get? What rights to question him will the state give up? And what implications will there be for someone wanting to commit some crime by learning how they can use a PI in the involvement in cover up or as part of their defense once they lawyer up, so all that is protected.

Kleat I am not ready to discuss this yet, is that ok?

    Thinker your post #348

I am not getting that Cindy is saying that the doll was in that blue bin . I think Cindy packed up everything for LE and put whatever would fit, into the bin

I am saying this because apparently as Cindy is looking at this photo of the bin she also mentions the yellow envelope and part of what she says (it looks like Casey’s bag). Cindy took the work bag which she claims was on the passenger seat of the car along with the dinner knife and set it on the ice chest. Later that day, Cindy took the yellow envelope into the house which had Amy H. resume in it in order to call her.

But now everything is in the bin from what I can understand when she gave it to LE. Including the doll.

When Cindy went into the house and brought out the laptop she took the doll back out of the bin and placed it on top of the laptop instead of the laptop on top of the doll. It just makes sense that Cindy being Cindy would pack up things for LE in the most reasonable and efficient way. It would probably make more sense if one could actually see a clear photo of what she is looking at while being questioned.

  20. Heidi says:

“GET OUTA TOWN!” re: photo of Casey. She is soooo pregnant. This is just one of many lies that makes my heart drop. How? How can Cindy say she’s not pregnant to Rick on his wedding day? She looks as big as a house to me! Instead of saying “I’ll tell you more later”, they (both GA & CMA) tells Rick “oh, she’s not pregnant”. What? I bet it made Rick’s day… what a joke. Casey stole their day. She loved every minute knowing everyone wanted to say “when is the baby due” or “who’s the daddy” (which I’d still like to know) but instead avoided the subject of the “elephant” in the room. This is why I can’t a New Years Resolution! Lee’s statement in Z depo… “Not 100% sure, who the father is” and his attorney quickly speaks up and says “you don’t have to answer that”. I want to know, and if Caylee was here on earth… I know she would too. George and Cindy are guilty of many things… and keeping secrets run deep. May the state of Florida brings the whole bunch down with Casey for Caylees sake.

  21. MsEnscene says:

    Kleat & Nauseated

Not sure in which one of Lee’s interviews or perhaps his depositions where he related asking Casey this question.

I think he was referring to his talk with Casey on the night of July 15th. He said he asked her this during their talk when he told her that the police were coming and they would expect Casey to have an answer to what happened to Caylee.

Then he related how he asked Casey, “Is this like the other time.” She said something, according to Lee, like “Oh, no, not at all.” I’ll try to find a link.

Just one of those things that make you go, “Huh? Why is nobody following up on this weird statement?

  22. Thinker says:

RE: Lost video…”Is this like the last time”

August news article that seems to explain the lost jail house video tape pre July 25 (Lee…is this like last time). It appears that LE pulled the video (links to video can not be had anywhere).
I assume they haven’t re-released it yet because they still need it as part of their ongoing investigation?

The ‘lost’ tape I refer to…”Is this like the last time” was a comment made by LA on the jail video visitation which I believe occurred on July 24th.
I know for sure that comment was made on his visit prior to 25 July. I don’t recall exactly when that video was initially released but it would have been at about the same time as the 25 July video visit and the one of the audio when KC called LA at home (audio only) and kept loosing cell reception claiming reception wasn’t good in certain rooms of the house? I wish I remembered exactly when the video was removed from all the sites, but it wasn’t long after the date of the news article cited.

People have been on a fruitless search for the ‘lost’ LA video ever since. I assume it could be re-released with discovery as we get closer to trial?

The public and media will not have access to tapes or transcripts of the meeting between Casey Anthony and her parents on Thursday, when they met at the Orlando jail. An Orange County Sheriff’s Office detective said all video of the visits between Anthony and her parents, George and Cindy Anthony, are being withheld “due to a criminal investigative exemption,” according to MyFOXOrlando.com.

Cindy: No I think the laptop was — the baby doll was on top of the laptop. Burdick: Did you put the baby doll in the bin? Cindy: The baby doll was in the bin and I brought the laptop from inside the house when they came to take the stuff

pg 152 of PDF – Burdick: Okay. When you said you took the doll out of the car seat, where did you put it? Cindy: I laid it …. our ice chest …. So I took the basket out and put it …. I put the doll laying next to it, to the right, so it wasn’t touching anything else…..

I think anyone should support a child who is in the kind of trouble Casey is in. If my daughter had killed my grandchild, I would be there to support my daughter in everything. I would be sitting on her side of the courtroom, I would be paying for her defense if I had the resources, I would be visiting her in jail, and I would be writing her letters telling her how much I care. But I would not lie to cover for her, I would not try to throw suspicion on any and everyone who’s nearby, I would not hinder the search for my granddaughter (dead or alive) to give a potential jury a reasonable doubt, and I would not try to prevent my daughter from owning up to the responsibility of her own actions. I also would not begin to live off my own grandchild’s death and begin preying on the suffering of others for my own profit.

Is it the public’s fault the Anthonys are so vilified? It was their murdering daughter that made them famous. And it was their bizarre and outrageous behavior that made them infamous. Don’t blame that on the innocent public. The Anthonys have vilified themselves by their own actions.

And as for the inference that the public is usurping God’s right to judge the Anthonys, I leave it to God to judge whether they have the right to enter Heaven or Hell. But I reserve the right to have my own opinions on their actions while on this earth, and I deem their actions to be vile and inexcusable.

Blink, reading the state depo on Cindy. The morning of the
16th. Cindy states she hears Casey talking with Tony on the phone
and hears her say something about $14,000.00 dollars. I wonder if
cindy heard wrong and it was $1,400.00

When Casey makes her first phone call home. She is calling to
request that someone give her Tony’s phone number. Maybe just
that she was asking him the day before to hire Jose for her.
Could this be why she was so hot on getting his phone number and
nothing else mattered to her but to get in touch with Tony to
see if he had contacted Jose for her?

  27. NosyParker says:

I am of the opinion that Casey had another thumb or zip drive, or SIM that had not been turned over to LE.
    B

I vaguely remember Cindy obsessing over a missing zip drive insisting she had given it to Yuri Melich, which he denied. Possibly it was during the lunch meeting she had with one of the higher ups to discuss her concerns/grievances about the shoddy work LE was doing(I personally didn’t listen to all of it due to the high static level). I thought that was when she was reminded LE’s only focus was finding Caylee which put her in her place for a few moments, although not for long.

In light of the fact that her grandbaby was missing, the fuss she made about the zip drive and the “missing” lanyard was over the top even for Cindy. Maybe she had deliberately held it back and was trying to cover her a$$ in case they knew or suspected it existed. Funny that she supposedly found the lanyard in her own dresser drawer months later. I don’t recall ever hearing about the missing zip card.

I think I have my facts straight here but I am going by memory and could have things confused. Plus it may be unrelated to the issue of photos that’s being discussed.

The zip drive, which was actually a thumb drive was returned to Cindy as discussed with her surreptitiously recorded lunch with Matt Irwin. I am suggesting there was another.

I personally have been stumped by someone I met in transit, who charmed the pants off me (not literality). For three months I offered and paid for small items thinking I was helping a women get back on her feet (w/kids), only to find she had a rap sheet 20 years long. I was first shocked, then worried for the children when she was taken away, then mad as all hell at myself for not listening to my intuition when I wondered why things didn’t seem right. HELLO…. But most frustrated cause I couldn’t save the children from the “system” they were already accustomed to. Neglect of a child is a crime. Not being sensitive of their emotional needs detrimental. The last thing her daughter told me was…. ” I know my mother liked you, but eventually, she would of hurt you too”.

I have only seen one with her beloved “Mamma” and she was clothed. It stands to reason, if Cindy had proof that Caylee loved her dolly most of the time unclothed, why would she not show us the proof, many photos of “Mamma” sans clothes. “I believe Cindy would have known that the mama doll’s clothes were “missing” at the very least, and may well have found the mama doll’s clothes buried in their back yard.”

Just a thought….has anyone considered that the doll WAS CLOTHED? Whose testimony do we have aside from Cindy’s that it wasn’t? Perhaps there was more evidence on the clothes themselves, and so they were discarded after the car was found?

Blink:”Not only that, depending upon who actually sold them or the chain of custody of them prior to their sale before Caylee was found, could very well reflect prior knowledge of her remains whereabouts.”

Blink, it’s not always that simply to get a source from “journalists”*. Getting copies of a photo via a subpoena is not the same as the publication revealing who sold them. Plus, I doubt it was a ‘direct’ deal , if they were sold by anyone else but Ricardo. There would have been an agent, in my opinion.

*I’m not sure I should be calling the National Enquirer or The Globe a group of journalists, but, you get it.

    WSH-
Good points and you may be right, under normal circumstances I would agree outright. The only caveat that might allow them the direct identity under an investigative subpoena would be the angle that an individual who sold them could have committed a criminal act (in theory, you get where I am going) because they were sold prior to her remains being recovered in the same shirt. Out of the thousands of pics of Caylee floating around, nobody will ever convince me these pics, which had never before been seen, wind up at the Globe as co ink y dink. The fact that the State did not “source” them when they were released in discovery may support either one of our points I admit.

Sigh. Mama’s clothes. That is a very good point. To my knowledge she did not admit wiping her down until the SA deposition. She admitted washing Casey’s clothes so I am not sure why she would not “cop” to Mama’s frock, but I have given up trying to rationalize irrational behavior on her behalf for a while.

I would be interested to know if there was a life insurance policy on Caylee to the tune of $14000. ( I was “offered” plenty of policies for my daughter when she was born for a minimal cost.) Maybe Cindy took out one of these policies and made Casey the beneficiary. It certainly would explain motive and that Casey mentioned $14000 to a couple of people.

I agree. I have often wondered if that was not the impetice for whatever legal meeting Cindy alleges took place regarding Caylee’s custody.

Wow, great posts all so much good info here–mama doll clothes, life insurance policy, etc. Also, Everyone in that family had to know Casey was pregnant. If I were a nurse, and my daughter had a tumor like that, she would be in the hospital immediately.

Does anyone think that when Lee said is it like Last time? That possibly Casey had “wandered off” in Target or Walmart in one of her fogs while shopping, leaving little Caylee to tag along and then “lost” her in the store temporarily. That she had lost her before. I see so many people that just let their kids go in stores unsupervised and then start calling and looking for them when they are ready to check out. Like everyone else in the store should be babysitting for them.

Q: all right, you remember meeting with him.
    A: Absolutley (eee Cringe)
Q: all right, what was the purpose of that?
A: he was a suspect as far as I was concerned, so get information
Q: In your mind was your sister a suspect?
    A: No

thanks Lee it has been a long day and I needed a laugh

  45. dee says:

page 35 states he was letting his parents handle things and he was in the background for support didnt see any mention from Lee that he was angry, dont remember it in GEO’s depo…hmmm scatching head…

  46. dee says:

it is so funny to me that Lee is bashing the hell out of Casey’s friends calling them all kinds of names, they are fake they do this they do that, they lie change their stories, she would NEVER have friends like that, did he forget that his sis was knee deep in that with them and the biggest liar to date IMO, I kept reading in all 3 depos that the SA would ask did you read what I gave you , did you watch the video I gave you yesterday, read any of the discovery, answer seems to be 9 times out of 10 NOPE, maybe if they had read a little something their heads would be be released from the Underwear Covering Cave it is trapped in.

I wish for a plea in this case, but if Casey (is) anything like these 3 it is not going to happen. Trial is going to be a comin and it is going to be very interesting watching it all unfold…

    Justice for Caylee!

    “Mama” Doll Clothes:

I read somewhere, I think in a comment here or on Hinkymeter, that Cindy/Casey was trying to teach Caylee to dress herself or the doll. So, Cindy/Casey would dress “Mama” doll in the mornings and Caylee would undress the doll in the evenings.

If this comment is true. I would guess that IF the doll was found without clothes in the trunk/car. Then it is possible Caylee did not wake on June 16th or she did not receive help from Casey to dress “Mama”. OR if “Mama” was really found clothed then I would guess that Caylee at least woke on June 16th, and received help dressing the doll on June 16th.

Or vice versa…I have completely confussed myself.

    Here’s the deal…

I am amazed that some people who start blogs somehow think they are in a better position than others when it comes to opinion.

…You don’t get to tell me how I should or should not feel about the Anthony’s or anyone else. Your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine. No more…no less

…I don’t hate anyone. But I tell you what. I despise the Anthony’s for what they have done. You wax poetic about your opinion, but fail to mention one little thing. If the Anthony’s were successful in their attempt to coddle thier murdering daughter someone else would be sitting in jail right now. An INNOCENT person would be in jail. I can forgive alot, but I cannot abide serious attempts to place the blame on others. I guess you think that everyone should just overlook that little fact. You can overlook it, but I never will.

…I’m all about lessons learned and I think the Anthony’s are teaching a subsect of our society to dodge, weave, lie and make a buck off of a personal tragedy. I shudder to think of what we may see in the future from those that have taken notes from the Anthony’s and choose to follow that playbook. But hey, when that happens I guess we should give them a pass too.

Post my thoughts or not. But I think your “New Years Request” is ridiculous.

Somebody needs a New Year Hug, here you go: ((()))

You are kidding right? You have clearly not read a lick of work on this site to say such nonsense-

If your all about learning lessons, here’s one: For an editor to consider your opinion on their work, you may wish to actually read more than one article before forming your opinion.

    AND

You may wish to rethink starting said opinion with “Here’s the Deal..”

Blink, reading the state depo on Cindy. The morning of the
16th. Cindy states she hears Casey talking with Tony on the phone
and hears her say something about $14,000.00 dollars. I wonder if
cindy heard wrong and it was $1,400.00

Is Cindy lieing again??? Cindy, left for work around 7:30 am on June 16th. I have to go back and find Casey’s phone activity on the morning of June 16th. I was thinking, there was a period of zero activity on Casey’s phone from around 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. on June 16th. So, how would Casey be talking to Tony and how would Cindy really know who Casey was talking to. Did Casey have a land line phone in her room?

She is lying, she previously just heard her and Caylee sleeping, lol
    B

Why is Cindy trying to make everyone believe she heard Casey on June 16th a.m. I guess, Cindy could have been standing outside of Caseys bedroom door between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. ease dropping. I will check the phone records later.
