Christine Sheddy Murder Exclusive: Statement Released From Christines Mom

 Christine child

Snow Hill, MD– As we await confirmation from the Baltimore Medical Examiners Office regarding the remains recovered from the rear property of the Riverside Inn on February 19th:

Lynn Doddenhoff, Christine’s Mom, wishes to make the following statement.

We DO NOT have confirmation that the remains found in Snow Hill are Christine, but we remain hopeful that they will be identified as such.

When Blink and her team became involved in Christine’s case we were at a dead end.

Thanks to Blink’s efforts, public awareness was raised to a level that forced law enforcement to take a second look at her
disappearance.

Christine, my family and Blink have endured many personal attacks we never deserved.

As we await word from the medical examiners office, we ask that you please pray for our family and the entire Blink team.

Without the tenacity of their work Christine’s case would never  have received the attention she deserves.

This will be the only statement I will make until official confirmation is made.

Lynn

    Dear Ms. Doddenhoff,

Please know you will be in the prayers of many, including mine. The photograph above of Christine is just beautiful. May God give strength to carry you through this most difficult time in your life.

    Funny thing.

Lynn shared a bevy of pics of Christine early on. I did not know this until after I posted it in an article, but it is Lynn’s fave.

It is also my fave. I just love her in it. It is why I chose it for her Moms’ words.

    Dear Lynn

I am very sorry for the pain you and your family have had to endure throughout this entire ordeal. I sincerely hope and pray these are Christine’s remains and that she may finally be brought home for a proper burial. I hope you will soon find comfort in seeing her killers brought to trial and her children grow up knowing how much their mother truly loved them. God bless and peace to each of you.

Dearest Lynn, I have been praying for you, your grandchildren and your entire family for the last few days. I hope your long wait is over and that you have found your daughter. God bless you, dear mother. May God give you the strength you need to cope with this terrible loss.

God bless you Lynn, and your wonderful grandchildren and family….you are indeed in my prayers and those of so many of us. You have endured what most of us can only imagine but so often fear, and we are humbled by your perseverance and strength….I so hope that you will soon have the resolution you have had to wait so long to find and are able to put your beautiful child to rest…continue to stay strong and we will do our best to lift you up.

  7. Mrs C Hop says:

Stay strong Lynn, we got you, and we will get justice for Christine.

  8. Friend says:

    Lynn,
I live not far from pocomoke and have followed this story from the time that it started. You and your family have been through so much for the past two years, so much more than any family deserves. You have been so strong throughout it all, through the let downs, and the put downs, you never once gave up!! When closure does come… you be proud!!! Without you and without Blink, Im not so sure how long justice would go unserved!! I do not know you personally, but I believe that I know enough to say that you are one outstanding mother!! Stay strong, and know that there are alot of us out here pulling for you. God Bless you and the rest of your family!

  9. Leslee S. says:

Dear Lynn, My heart aches for the pain that you have endured. Please know that I am praying for you & your family.

  10. NancyS says:

    Dearest Lynn,
I am SO SORRY for the loss of your daughter. I just started following this case when Blink started it. It is a case SO CLOSE to my persona story and wanted to thank you for speaking up for your daughter, my mom would NEVER admit that anything went wrong, let alone ask the world for help… It just AMAZES me the strength you show us. I pray that you can continue just the way you are and I too hope that these are Christines remains so that you and her children can give her the PROPER burial that she so well deserves. Thank you also Christine for speaking to us through your mom…… we love you and pray for your family and thanks so much for sharing your family with ours.

my prayers are with u lynn and your whole family but especially christine dear children i know this has to be so hard on them cause i’m sure they did hold out hope that there mommy was alive and the are so young it got to be hard them it just breaks my hard , now we need to focus on the justice part of all this . it is a dam shame it not like yrs ago a eye for a eye xoxox

  12. Gerta says:

I too have turned up the intensity of my prayers this week for Lynn, Family, Blink, and Team.

I hope it helps to remember that darkness is not it’s own entity–it is the absence of light. It’s pitch is controlled and ultimately dispelled by how strongly the light radiates. I pray that our prayers would light the way for you all…especially now as the attacks continue and you wait for justice.

I cannot wait for this to be over and be able to shed more “light” on a few people that have added to the anguish of Christine’s family at a time when doing so is completely inhumane.

Lynn and Steve Dodenhoff, Clair Sheddy, Jennifer and her hubby, and of course Q fought tirelessly for Christine to be found.
It appears she has been. That is the message that should be broadcast loud and clear across all mediums.

I cannot convey how intensely protective I am of these people, we all are.

    Blink-
It is good that when a family hit a dead end — they had a place to turn to for help. Thanks for helping a family find hope. Prayers for justice for Christine and her family.

  16. Thea Starr says:

I’ve been reading here for quite some time, but this is my first post. “They” say that the most dangerous place in the world to be is between a mother and her child. Sometimes, as in the case with Lynn, that’s so very true. Other times, as is the case with Casey Anthony, there’s Blink.

Lynn, I cannot imagine what you are going through. I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Sweet Christine. I hope that you know that you were loved by people that never met you. Blink brought you to life for us, and made us care.

    Another Jersey Girl

You hit my bullseye, many thanks.

I don’t think I will ever be able to appropriately describe the weight my team has felt when the trust of a Mother and family was placed in us to find out what happened to Christine.

There is not a single word I wrote, or conversation I had, and there have been hundreds, that I did not consider how it would affect them, or ultimately finding answers for Christine.

I am very, very proud of TeamBlink’s work in this case. We were motivated by alot of reasons to keep going as the investigation progressed, but there has always only ever been one goal.

I just wanted her children to know that she did not leave them. She did not.

In her death, Christine Sheddy deserves the restoration of her dignity from all those who trampled on it, and I intend to see that she gets just that.

  17. Carol says:

Words cannot really express the sadness I (all of us) feel for the Dodenhoff and Sheddy families, especially Christine’s children, Q and her friends who loved her. The contradiction of feelings is crazy. A part of me so wants it to be Christine so that you can bring her home, give her a proper burial, a place that all of you can memorialize and visit her at, but the other part of me so wishes it won’t be Christine so that she can return to all of you and the incredible love you have for her. My sincerest condolences if this is Christine. Justice will be served Lynn. Continue on with your amazing strength and patience. Love and Prayers.

First….Not one person deserved to be attacked in a personal manor. If LAW ENFORCEMENT did their own damn job…..it would not have come to outsiders trying to help a mother who deserved the truth. Man that ticks me off. Yeah must look at the SOURCE of the comments….TSK STK! Idiots and morons I am sure, only mad becuse they sat by and DID NOTHING. So they attack the very same people who actually something. They listened to a mothers cries and pleas for answers. After all she knew her daughter. Thats whats wrong with the system today. Shame on law enforcement for NOT taking it seriously. May that be on their conscience forever. it moght not have changed the outcome. but at the very least, Christine could have been found sooner.

Maybe now they can do their job and find the animals who took this young womens life. You all deserve PRAISE….not attacks……You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Blink, you did a GREAT THING. Keep your head high baby. You did what they failed to do. CASE CLOSED…thats on them. Bless you all for caring enough to help someone in dire straights. Blink, i truly believe, if there were more people like you and yours out there, perhaps more women would be found. Highest praise to you Blink! Keep doing what you do…..

Blink- Wow! One word! Just simply, Wow! Not only are you intelligent (and beautiful I heard), but I believe we could fit the entire World Wide Web in your heart and still have room for the rest of us! I truly respest and admire you.

    Dearest Blink,

You have done such an awesome thing here and I cannot sing your praises enough.

    Dearest Ms. Doddenhoff and family,

Your long-enduring commitment to your daughter and to bringing her home touches my heart so much. While there is nothing that can close the hole in your heart caused by the loss of your beautiful daughter, I pray that finding her brings some measure of peace.

My prayers are with all who have suffered the loss of this beautiful lady in their lives.

Blink…you go girl. Keep the Faith.

Thank you my kind and talented friend.

    Thank you, Blink. For everything.

Mrs. Lynn, You have the tenacity of a pitbull on crack. If we ever get around to organizing the First Annual Blink softball game, I want to be on your team. It’s been a long road for you, uphill all the way so far. There’s still a long way to go but there’s some downhill stretches coming soon.

I saw that picture of the mischievous little imp, just waiting to get her picture taking finished so she could go stir something up or get ice cream all over the dress. She had a carefree look that all kids should have. I am so glad her littles are in your care. They deserve to have the same look.

Blink, I reckon you might have jacked one out of the park, so come softball time…

    I heart, heart u.
Thank you for your efforts on Christine’s case, and for

    Dear Christine’s Mom,
I am so sorry for your loss, and for all you and Christine’s family and friends have had to endure. I can see why this picture is your favorite of Christine. It captures her innocence, her beauty, her mischievousness, and her “light”. I am so sorry this beautiful soul was taken from you and from her children. You will be in my prayers, now and for forever.

Blink, when you began posting about Christine and Lynn’s story, I was a lurker here, at BOC. After reading your heartfelt articles about this woman you had never met, and your steadfast support of her Mother and family, I knew that no matter what was said or done, neither Lynn nor you would give up until justice was brought to Christine. Thank you for standing up for this lost and forgotten Mother, Blink, thank you so much. Go Get ‘em !

Nice to see you friend, you have been missed.

I honestly do not have words for the strength and resolve Lynn and her family has shown through this, and she is raising her 3 grandchildren to boot.

I feel like I want to walk around in a gladiator suit in front of all of them swinging some gawdawful weapon lest anyone gets near them.
Don’t put it past me at this point.

  26. Fearful says:

To Blink and Blink’s readers……..Blink, you and your team should be commended for your selfless and tireless work on behalf of this beautiful girl. I am deeply saddened that her life was taken from her in tragedy. She was clearly a very loved woman and is extremely fortunate to have people who care about her and are seeking justice. She was obviously very special and deserves the energy and effort you and your team have expended on her behalf. I am also very touched by the obvious love that her mother has for her. Many may think that “any mother” would show this kind of love and put this much effort into finding their daughter, but sadly, that’s not the case. I wish all of you at BlinkOnCrime the very best and commend you all for your loving and compassionate spirits. I’m a long-time reader and have a great sense of respect for this community. It’s been a comfort to me to see total strangers rally together in compassion for those who are missing. You are all making a difference more than you can imagine – not just for the missing and their families, but for total strangers who have needed to believe in a world where people actually care about others. I wish I could hold onto the sense of hope that you all have, but mine is gone. I wish you all the very best. You are an amazing group of people. Love, ff

  27. Fearful says:

Dear Lynn, I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. It is obvious how much you love her. Know that her life was meaningful and special to so many – including total strangers. Christine was very fortunate to have your love and support in her life – and I can guarantee that she felt it every single day and that it made a huge difference in her life to have you. I wish I could have traded places with her so that you two could still be together. Know that the day will come where you will be reunited and it is something glorious to hold onto to, during even the most difficult of times. You are an amazing mom and I respect you deeply.

  28. lily says:

I just saw that the medical examiner has determined the remains to be those of Christine.

Yes, I held my post on it because I was made aware that the family was a few minutes away from official confirmation, and of course I wanted to let that occur although we already knew, it is still their right to hear an official word first, imo.
    B

  29. lily says:

I was sure you were aware Blink. You always do the right thing for the family – unlike others but today isn’t the day for that. I will leave it alone now but… Oh gosh. It isn’t a day for anger with anyone because Christine is going home.

  30. MQ says:

No way you knew before the family. You need to quit acting like you are the only one who knows anything about this case.

Please. You have no idea what your talking about. I know exactly who you are, none of you ever did know when to quit while your ahead. This is not a contest, this is about a murdered mother of 3.
    B

  31. MQ says:

If you know exactly who I am then prove it by typing my name, you have my email or you can do it here. For you, it is a contest. You have had something sarcastic to say about every comment I’ve made. You have to be the one that knows it all and are indifferent to those that are on the ground, from that community.

    Wrong.

It is you who has posted on here only what you perceive as a “heads up.”

What are your thoughts about what happened to Christine?
    B

  32. MQ says:

To prove my point….I posted that the body discovered was confirmed to be Christines today long before you posted your headline. You left my comment in “moderation” till you could get the word out. Hey, it’s your website but it’s not fair to your readers.

That does not prove your point, it proves mine. I was not putting out information prior to the family getting the official word. There are children that had not been told, what do you not understand about that?
    B

  33. MQ says:

Don’t give me that crap. The family had been informed. The info was on the local television stations. But I’m sure you had better info from a thousand miles away. You could have benefitted from sources close to the scene but you chose to disrespect others that tried to offer info.

    Who is 1000 miles away?

Yes, your right. You have all the answers and the rest of us are just rubberneckers.
    Thanks Tom Tom.

  34. Ragdoll says:

Blink, the minions are hell bent but you are not.

Integrity lives here and if that entails hateful snares and snips from the green eyed monster, we all have your back Christine, Lynn, children and Blink.

It was NEVER about who got to the finish line first. It’s ALWAYS been about Christine and her family. Huge difference MQ.

  35. Ragdoll says:

    For Christine

    Your friends may lie
The truth can come from strangers
    If I knew why,
We wouldn’t be in this danger
Leaning out the window of my car
And wishing on another lucky star.

    Life is long
It is not made to measure
    You will go on
The same in pain and pleasure
Wondering how we ever got this far…
And wishing on another lucky star.

    Life goes on
    As sure as the sky
    It’s come and gone
In the wink of an eye
    You leave your home
In the wings of the night
    ~*~You will never die~*~

    The world is cold
The heart gets torn and tattered
    The one you hold
It can be dropped and shattered
Leaning out the window of my car
And wishing on another lucky star.

  36. Gypsy DD says:

    MQ,

Go spread your ugliness somewhere else. This is Blink’s site. It is victum friendly. We don’t want to read comments like yours, nor do we want to engage with the rif raff you allow at the PPE dear sir.

Get a real life and leave Blink alone. It seems some of your esteemed LE and Fire Inspectors have let down the community on more then just this occassion. Blasting and taunting Blink and the posters here is not going to change that fact sir. You will be amazed at what this investigation by the State of Maryland into your sordid public officals is about to uncover.

And if I were a community member I would be up in arms about the coverup, lack of follow-up and general unconcern shown to this family during their quest to get their daughter returned to them and see justice done.

Who in their right mind wants to live in a community that allows murderers to walk free, child rapists to walk free and drug dealers to walk free and arsonist to walk free? If you truly supported your community you would have wanted answers to these questions long ago.

Pocomoke seems like it could return to being a lovely small town..but now you are going to have to allow the Maryland State Police to take the trash out for you..because your officials wouldn’t do it..and they are living on your tax dime.

  37. MQ says:

    Gypsy DD,

What are you referring to when you say “rif raff at the PPE?” Have you ever been to the Eastern Shore of MD? Just for starters MD has the best schools in the nation and Worcester Co. is #1 in MD. Maybe not the backwards community you perceived? All of you that accept what you hear without checking the facts may not be getting the truth but it really doesn’t seem like you are interested in the truth.

This is exactly the kind of inflammatory crap I am sick of.

Gypsy was specifically referring to the “riff raff” that snubbed their noses, and in some cases were derelict in the investigation. There was no attack on anyone uninvolved, and certainly not the school system or community at large.

There is nobody here not checking facts or slamming the community. Knock it off
    B

  38. Sbeyma says:

    Well said Gypsy

And for the record, I lived in Pocomoke more than 30 years.

I am so ashamed of some individual’s behaviors related to this case. Their behavior is not a reflection of all Pocomoke. Please do not judge all of Pocomoke by those few.

  39. sbeyma says:

Blink, I beg your indulgence. I have seen how some people nitpick and condemn you saying you do not have your facts straight.

    In response to MQ:
I do live in Pocomoke and had two sons attend Pocomoke schools. Both are honor students. One was top in his class. Worcester does have good schools and yes. Maryland schools are rated #1.

However, the top Maryland high school is in Anne Arundel. The top Maryland schools are primarily in Anne Arundel, Montgomery, and Howard counties. The top high school in the nation is in Alexander, Va. Snow Hill high is 63 on the Maryland list. Pocomoke High is 151 in Maryland.(2008-2009 ratings)

    My point:
MQ would do well to also check the facts. This petty, childish behavior is getting really old and does not reflect well on Pocomoke.

Sorry but I just could not let the opportunity past me by.

  40. MQ says:

Other than the inappropriate remark McDermott made, why do you think law enforcement didn’t do their job and why do you think there was a coverup? I have seen alot of accusations and suspicions but where are the facts?

I do not think their was a coverup and negligence at a minimum, I know it as an indisputable fact.

What I am permitted to say is that Joel Todd’s office yanked this case from WCBI for undisclosed reasons.

MSP picked up this case and had it for 4 days, Christine was recovered.

When I can discuss the improprieties that occurred, there will be no doubt about what happened and who was involved.

Until then, you can choose to take my word for it or not.
    B

  41. Gypsy DD says:

    MQ,

Since you wondered if I had ever visited the Eastern Shore of Maryland I will entertain your question with an answer. Yes, I have for many years driven through and stayed on the Eastern Shore. My aunt has a condo there and I have cousins that have two homes there..one they live in, one they rent. One of my closest friends lives on the Eastern Shore. I have been visiting there since I was 3 years old. I am fast approaching my 6th decade now.

So when I say that your town could become the lovely small town it once was I mean that with all sincerity. I also mean with all sincerity that if I lived there I would be up in arms at what has been taking place in relation to Christine’s case and other cases in that general area.

I would never disparage Maryland schools, the Maryland State Police nor Marylanders in general or any of the sort of thing you implied..you see I was educated in Maryland. I have lived in Maryland and have a fondness for that state. I have relatives that still live in Maryland. So don’t make assumptions sir about me.

You have allowed people to say some very rude and unkind things about Christine, her family and Blink on the PPE. Freedom of the press is fine..just remember it works both ways.

  42. MQ says:

I use the example of the schools to show we are not a backwards uncivlilized community as some commenters have implied. (Sbeyma, I have seen the test scores and know what I am talking about. I am referring to Woc county public schools as a whole.) I have not said anything against Christine and am not part of any group. My only gripe is about the cold reception I got whenever I posted info about the case on this website. My comments about the case were greeted with hostility. I was only trying to contribute but I also don’t accept hearsay, show me the facts. I hope that the ones that were negligent, if they were negligent, are held accountable. I still don’t see the motive for law enforcement to ignore this case but we are told it will come out in time. We shall see.

  43. Marci says:

How was it that Jr set fire after fire on the property and in the farm house and got nothing but moved to TN and set a shower curtain on fire and is still in jail??? Just Curious

    Great Question.
    B

  44. Sister says:

Marci, yes, yes, great question. Blink did an article about the reporting and lack of reporting about these fires. I believe this is an intrical part of this case and am waiting until Blink can or MSP does reveal these details. IMO, will be like a big, bright fireball released in the air. Causes me to wonder the status of the RSO who dwelleth within the ranks of the fire department is doing.

  45. Marci says:

I have just gotten so sick of some of the people defending this town.. Any reasonable person that has half a brain knows this is being pointed at everyone in this town or in their FD or PD.. But come on why terrorize this poor family and keep defending acts that should disgust the people in this community?? Something went horribly wrong in this case and instead of standing up and fighting against the roaches on BOTH sides of the field, they bash the ones trying to right a wrong?? I don’t get that… I don’t get the posters over at PE and a few other sites..You can’t have a different view or show compassion to this family with out getting the beat down over there… How can people get off on other’s misery?? I will never know… It is down right disgusting what this family has gone through and continues to with some of these people..

Tell me.. WHY… If everyone in that town is on the up and up WHY wasn’t JR jailed after even just one of the fires or the complaints from the neighbors?? Why did it take TN just one fire (that actually went out on it’s own) to jail him?? MQ???

  46. Marci says:

I need to edit my last post,,, I meant to say that most of us with a brain know that it ISN’T being pointed it at ALL of the town or ALL of FD or PD… But we should look into the ones that didn’t do all they could do

  47. lil Lucy says:

Tom Tom only a twisted sicko would want the limelight of a tragedy. Blink is a professional with heart, and if you were anyone, why then did it take 2 years for anything to be done suceesfully????The energy you have spent trying to make Blink look like the bad guy you should have utilized in finding out why NO ONE was doing anyting for this family. Learn humbleness and pray for these people. Why not simply be human and say thank you!

  48. melissa ferriol says:

Wow! I have just read everything. From the Tattler to here. I can not to do this day believe there is a place called Pocamoke that this sh*t happens! It seems like a far of land or maybe a dream?? Poor Christne for coming across such a fu**ed up place! God bless the families that are going through this! Unbievable!

  49. melissa ferriol says:

okay! I will try again! Unbelivable??

  50. melissa ferriol says:

is it just me or is this town the last place that you would ever want to visit? I left the US about ten years ago. I live in Cozumel, Mexico now. I left because of this very thing. What a great life to live outside and be looking in. What a way to die when even your city didn’t didn’t care! RIP CHRISTINE!!

I only spent one day in the town, so I do not think it would be a fair asessment to generalize.

However, my experience with the farm itself, some of the shady characters in this case, and some issues still occurring there, would put it on my last place to ever want to re-visit.

Good and kind people continue to be put through the ringer there.

It will always haunt me that Christine met her end there, it is just vile. Like a freakish horror movie, as I was driving away from the farm, there was a major storm.

She is home now, thank God.
