Continuing today, divers have been spotted along Sauvie Island being instructed by a Geospatial analyst. A source inside the investigation speaking to on the condition of anonymity has confirmed the team is being guided by the aerial images taken from the National Guards Black Hawk Helicopter this past weekend. The team has been advised they are looking for a large container, possibly a suitcase or duffle bag, within the shore line. Fueling the speculation MCPD may be looking for a serial sex offender, following article and radio interview Sunday evening,  journalists in Portland requested a judge make the Boy Scout “Perv Files” public information the following day in a previously unscheduled court appearance. On Monday, the judge promised to “get a decision out as fast as I can.” The jury awarded Lewis $1.4 million in compensatory damages and assessed the Scouts $18.5 million in punitive damages. The 1,247 files were described in court Monday as covering two decades and totaling more than 20,000 pages. The groups seeking the records are The Oregonian, The New York Times, Oregon Public Broadcasting, KGW-TV, The Associated Press and Courthouse News Service. Their lawyer, Dan Lindahl of Portland, cited the state constitution’s Bill of Rights: “No court shall be secret, but justice shall be administered, openly and without purchase.” Contributing editor Jason Mateos, Klaasend

I have no idea how we tie Terri to a sexually motivated crime. We have to learn more about the details and her before we can make such a horrific leap. Hurting a child is evil hurting a child for sexual motivation is double evil (if there can be such a thing). There have been some oddities uncovered about her…but no crime in having several marriages, children with multiple men, many many addresses, or even a stupid email address from perhaps a long time ago. I don’t get it, but then I don’t get the Sandra Cantu crime either….or any of them or the perpetrators.

Hey Blink, If Kristian Scott Horman is Kaine’s brother, he was just convicted for child molestation in Washington! I also found a MySpace a/c for a Scottie Horman, looks like Kaine, & the info matches the offender. Could they be the same person & if so, is he allowed to have a MySpace a/c? Maybe I am denial, but dammit, this imperfect woman doesn’t seem like a child killer to me.

  12. RubyJV says:

Blink, you decide whether you want this posted or not but on the KOIN website where they posted “Rumors Swirl Around Horman Investigation” there is a comment today at 6:22pm posted by snoopysnooper as follows:
Kaine Horman’s brother was convicted yesterday in Snohomish County WA of third-degree child molestation. Read his records… he was also asked to be removed from a house when he was younger because HE was being molested. Put the pieces together, people. And don’t even try to say that “Terri is a victim.” She never liked Kyron anyway.

So I went to Snohomish County WA jail register and searched Snohomish county sherrif. There is a Kristian Scott Horman booked yesterday under 3rd degree child molestation.

I’m not sure how to verify he is Kaine’s brother or how to search his records but thought I’d send it to you and you’d have an idea what to do. Not sure it has anything to do with this case but as you know if he had problems growing up then his siblings may have also. Something to consider. Please retract/edit anything you feel necessary if you’re going to post. Hope you’re feeling better!

Oh gosh blink you are brave to ask that question because what ever answer anyone comes up with will be the latest rumor!

But to answer and play along. If the step mom did this and it is a sexually motivated crime, she would have either sexually assulted him or she brought him to someone as pay off or as a “gift”.

I dont’ think that happened btw, just answering a what if question

You were bright to pick up my point.

I just don’t believe LE would make the statements that are being reported. It seems way, way, way out of character with what we’ve seen from them so far. I think the same parties that started the rumor Kyron was found are also responsible for this alleged “leaked” info about step mom. For God’s sake, if she is innocent, she has lost her child and become a pariah in society at the same time. Ugh, I feel sick to my stomach about every aspect of this case.

Tonight I went to an opening at the science museum, A Journey to the Stars, and I found thinking about how much Kyron would enjoy the show. A little boy I’ve never even met and yet he’s touched my life.

Blink: if you think it’s a sexually motivated crime, then it probably is. I know little about child abduction, and what I do know I’ve learned in the past week. But since you posed the question about the SM, I’ll throw out the devil’s advocate question: Could the SM have been sexually abusing Kyron? It’s not as common with women, but it does happen. And as someone pointed out, sexual abuse begets sexual abuse, but sometimes in relationships partners switch the roles (the child of an alcoholic marries an alcoholic, the child of an sexual abuser marries an abuser…) I’m not saying that she is, I’m just throwing it out as a possibility, but one that’s probably far less likely statistically.

I did see that LE has come out and said that the reporting about Kyron’s body being found was erroneous and irresponsible, but I saw nothing where they shot down the SM/cell phone story.

And then a question for you: in order to be looking at cell phone triangulation from pings, LE would need to be working from a specific phone number, true?

  34. Becca says:

If stepmom did it, it now makes sense why they said an officer was with the family at all times. Makng sure she didn’t make a move to hide/destroy an evidence she may have left behind.

  35. Gerta says:

I’m keeping an open mind. There is something slightly off center about the SM and I’m not referring to a FB page that I never saw. I’m also not saying that SM is guilty of the crime but something isn’t adding up for me. I’m also not reading anymore of the local stuff, there are some hateful comments that seemingly are coming out of a rotten grapevine.

  36. Eloise says:

    Good Morning,

Well I see Fox just broadcast that the focus has moved to SM. That she made several calls from Sauvie Island, which do not correspond to her story. So.., if that is the case, what was she doing over there? Did they really pick something up with the infrared thing, or were they focusing there due to the pings? Has anyone noticed during any of the searches any activity that could correlate to finding the glasses, like a blockade from the media, tent sort of thing?

  37. FLGirl says:

Well Fox News just reported the cell phone thing a few minutes ago; however, for some reason they referred to it being Kyron’s birth mother (Desiree), rather than the stepmother, who might’ve pinged on Sauvie Island. Now, I’m not sure if they just made a mistake, as all other stories of this sort have focused on the SM. However, the fact that a major news outlet was reporting this cell phone thing, is what caught my attention.

Not that large news organizations are infallible whatsoever… it just seems to maybe lend a bit of credence, rather than just rumors and reports from online sources.

Covering for someone? Involved as accomplice?

The uncle has been convicted of child molestation. I do not want to accuse the father of anything but it is not a far stretch that this type of thing is familial.

And sadly, it is not unheard of for a woman to be involved in sexual crimes.

    Not unheard of, but rare.

Covering or accomplice not so much.

  39. Hadley says:

What was the point of SM going to Sauvie Island, and why didn’t she tell LE if she is totally innocent. I wonder if her husband knew she
went there. Why did she lie about going to the gym. Surely she was aware that Kyron’s bio mom would take him. Everything is strange about this investigation. WHOEVER did this, I pray for swift, speedy justice. The Casey Anthony case has become a joke, it’s all about delay, delay, delay.

Kyron, you stole my heart, precious child. What a great artist you are! Your tree frog poster was the BEST hands down. I pray that you are safe now, and free from harm. Your beautiful smile will light up
all of Heaven, and make the angels sing. Hadley

  40. Hadley says:

One thing I know, if a peson is innocent, they would be OUTRAGED to be accused of this crime.

  41. SS says:

Blink do you still feel the same today about it being a sexually motivated crime? And still not SM? Could SM have helped someone, like the uncle? I left a comment previously that for some reason did not post – suppose the SM, when in the hallway with K, told him to go out to the uncle’s truck and then she went out the other way so she was seen leaving alone? All of the other stuff – taking the photo that morning, leaving the backpack, posting on FB – almost seems staged and set up but I could of course be dead wrong. Any comment on why SM would not be forthcoming in the first place? Also I have never seen anything at all about whether the police asked/received lie detector tests to eliminate people…

Statistically speaking, in some form, yes I believe this is a sexually motivated crime, as do many colleagues I speak with, based on known information in this case.

It makes zero sense to me, to think a poi has the skillsets to plan a crime like this, with the full knowledge they would absolutely be a suspect, and then not hire an attorney, and let LE live with me 20/7. If this woman’s fave shows are CSI and Dexter, she has a minimum working knowledge of forensics and investigation. Kyron’s step dad is a detective.

To me, it is almost like they WANT someone to believe the heat is on her and not them.

If Terri Horman has not been told she is a possible suspect, then she will never be one, imo.

  42. CovertCCW says:

First, thanks Cheryl, I like your plan too, but the island must be in a large shark infested area.

Second, the way I see it we have three total options of what happened.

1: The SM is guilty, this I’m really doubting right now. Is this island inhabited? Maybe shes having an affair and meeting someone there. Just cause a cell phone has her there doesn’t mean she did anything. It’s easily explainable.

2: A pedophile snatched him, and he’s possibly somewhere around where they are looking. I know it’s grim and I pray that’s not the case, but it’s a reality.

3: A pedophile snatched him and we have another Shawn Hornbeck case on our hands. Personally, this is what I’m believing. What if the guy that says he saw a kid who looked like Kyron in that truck going down Highway 26 was a real sighting?

What I don’t understand is why that family and LE aren’t screaming to the media. If that latter is the case the national media can help one hell of a lot. Yet I see nothing. I have to read Portland papers to find out anything about this case. That part just doesn’t make sense, and they have lost much valuable time.

  43. Bearlyhere says:

I thought the baby was home when Terri was at school with Kyron. Who was watching her?

Why didn’t the father stop in at the science fair? I was wondering because it seems like a topic (red tree frog)that would interest a father, too, and make him proud?

Did Kyron’s family have a guest staying with them at the time?

I have been wondering if Terri has any stalkers? That could be why they are protecting her.

Things that rattle around my head.

Son is finished school for the summer–let the good times commence!

  44. Bearlyhere says:

    I meant to add:

If the poi is after Terri in some way, it may be why she has looked guilty to some people. She may feel responsible, in some way, which she is not. I am not blaming the victim here, just stating a normal response.

Stalkers are freaky scary people and more attention should be made to prosecute these criminals. Terrorism does not have to come from another country.

  45. lily says:

I’m thinking more and more that Kyron either didn’t leave Skyline Elementary School alive – and/or he was placed in something and taken out sometime between the 8:45 a.m. start bell – and about 9:00 a.m. when the kids started heading back in to the science fair.

The early 8:00 a.m. ‘doors open’ for the school was unusual – it’s normally 8:35a.m. Probably meant that very few people were there that early. Who opened the doors early at 8:00 a.m.? Who was there?

All of the kids headed back to their classes at 8:45 to divide up into small groups in order to head back with a chaperone. This probably took at least 15-20 minutes to get organized. The science fair was most likely deserted or close to it.

Kyron’s friend said that Kyron headed back to the science fair instead of going into the classroom at 8:45 so he could have been there with a suspect alone between 8:45 and 9:00. The opportunity is there.

Did LE find Kyron’s glasses inside the school somewhere? A closet or a secluded area? I think those are Kyron’s real glasses – and I think a lense(s) were damaged (and removed by investigators for the photo) during his abduction.

Is there a duffel bag, a box or a suitcase missing from the school used to carry in someone’s science exhibit items?

Is Terri being used (with her consent) in order to lull the real POI into a false sense of security?

My instincts tell my that little Kyron didn’t leave his school alive. I know, I’ve suspected the SM off and on but as of this afternoon – I just no longer think she’s responsible for Kyron’s disappearance.

When she’s arrested tomorrow – you all can give me a noogie.

  46. Hulagirl says:

CovertCCW, I live near all of this and yes, the island is inhabited. It’s a rural area, usually very quiet pleasant community just outside Portland metro area. There are no sharks in the literal sense) there…unless the rivers have forcibly changed direction. Sauvie Island is a lovely litte island and a quiet community.

  47. Hulagirl says:

I agree with CCW and many others out there….I don’t understand why the family and LE has kept so quiet throughout this ordeal. I hope they have good reason and I hope they have not missed an opportunity to use the media to their advantage.

  48. Hulagirl says:

I watched the local news but missed the report of Kyron’s friend stating he went back to the science fair… was this on a news channel? Do you still have the link to that? Thanks :)
Also…and it may just be my computer screen…but I blew up multiple pics of the glasses in various directions and it looks like the lenses are there…either that or they’ve altered the photo’s to make the lines in the photo (area between frames and lenses) appear that there are indeed lenses. hmm.
