I am confused viewing these – looking at this beautiful little boy, who I just want to take up and embrace… many pictures with Kaine and with his 1/2-brother James, Kerri’s son, …..
I feel conflicted viewing the photos – did someone or someone(s) sell these to CBS for funds? It is very unsettling if it is indeed “the Casey Anthony plan” as you mentioned Blink, but from which source or all sources in this case?
And how can such a proliferation of family happiness (as it appears) lead to disappearance and potential death? And what about James’ relationship with Kyron, surely he would be pained by Kyron’s loss, in spite of their difference in ages. Did the break-up of this family system beginning with sending James south to Roseburg (grandparents/father) lead to complete unraveling of the whole system? Were rumors of Kaine’s infidelities true or false, which, if true, may have starting the ball rolling even earlier?

OK, I can understand the landscaping in the rain. I live “here” too, actually in Clark County, and I still wouldn’t take a toddler out to walk to the bus stop in the rain, especially one with an earache. I keep trying to remember back to that day and if it cleared up in the afternoon.

    Yep.

Keep in mind, even worm bait like Jose Baez took 2 years to blow through 250K before the case even hits trial.
That is a fat retainer, and to me sounds more like a property deed or something.

This does not look good for Kaine, what ever his reasons are for filing this motion, he is publicly announcing he can not afford his divorce attorney? Let say Kyron is found and terri is cleared, he then has two ex wives wanting custody of his children, one is married and the other one has the resources to fund a defense attorney either from friends and family or other ways (I’m not claiming the way she may be doing it is correct) And Kaine is claiming financial distress, unable to pay for his attorney AND that he is not aware of his assets? Does not look good..just saying

Also in reference to several people posting about the cinderblocks-what we saw on the news was not LE carrying them out of the house, it was just movers who happened to be there when the media jumped on the news that the homes had been searched. LE had done the searches prior and was already done and gone before the media caught wind of it.

What if she got to school in the a.m. and was told that she wouldn’t be able to pick up the project until later in the afternoon? If that was the case, she’d very likely decide not to stick around until the end (11:00?) like she’d originally planned. That scenario still doesn’t explain why she would expect Kyron to come home on the school bus.

Beejay_ I really don’t think Kaine is scared of her as he probably thinks that she cannot hurt him anymore since he has his daughter. Jackie Bauer,

I was hanging out on the it-must-all-be-just-a-coincidence side or she-just-must-have-snapped-side for a while now. But it was getting lonely over there. I finally hopped the fence. Have you read the Scotty Baker story? Unbelievable. Man, these kind of stepmothers are making it hard for the rest of us. I think the worst thing I ever did was rip the head off the kid’s barbie. And that was an accident. I swear!
    *******************************

Welcome to this side of the fence ;) Yes, I did read the Scotty Baker story, and wow.

I know that it is very hard for people to believe that TH could pretend to care about Kyron and then do this. I understand that it is difficult to think like a sociopath if you’re not a sociopath. But I believe that she is a sociopath, based on her behaviors that have been IDd during the last 7 weeks and patterns in her life, and I believe that this is premeditated on her part, and the motives are money/security for her dream life/and possibly some vindictive behavior thrown in. And I know that it’s hard to imagine that someone would hurt Kyron for all the money in the world. But I have lived with a sociopath for a short period of time, I saw what he was able to do to others, and his newest victim will be lucky to make it out alive.

Also, people have a hard time believing that KH didn’t bring this on himself, but sociopaths generally con the most trusting souls because it’s hard to con a con, you know? It’s odd to me that for all the things said about Kaine, no one has stopped to think that maybe he was really in love with TH and quite blinded by her faults. It happens to the best of us. I even think that TH left the red mustang as an FU to Kaine, even though she is the one who deserves the FU. The sociopath I know operates that way. So anyway, there’s my long answer.

We’re probably all going to need to know more about the Barbie incident to decide if it was really an “accident” however ;)

And re: the cinder blocks, one of the things I was thinking about in my questions re: Freddy’s outdoor department was fishing weights/anchors, so cinder blocks, yep, that works too….

I feel bad even uttering these thoughts, but, something is very wrong with Kyron’s whole family. Both and step sides. Maybe something this horrific had to happen to break the cycle. I believe when all is said and done, things will shock us. Why are Kaine and Desiree not looking, screaming, and making things happen. Such control of the media. What are they afraid of? There is no doubt they want their boy back, but there seems to be something tentative about it. OMO. There are boogey men lurking all over this case.

  35. Faith says:

To me it an obvious legal move that Kaine asked for part of the money. That doesn’t mean anything about his financial status. It is something lawyers do. Remember that she had asked him for money to move out on because she didn’t have any. I never felt that Kaine was ever afraid of her. He certainly learned not to trust anything she did.

I read here some of the posters were talking about cinder blocks. I don’t know the background on that. But within 5 – 10 miles there are two fast flowing large rivers. I can’t imagine she could have disposed of a body without being seen. Very unlikely. But I imagine it would be hard to find a body if it was on the bottom. I believe the Willamette flows into the Columbia on the east side of Sauvie Island.

I did read a comment, just someone’s idea, that maybe a friend sold or put up their house to help Terri. No one is that good of a friend for me to want do that. Unless it is my child.

I don’t see anything posted here at this time about this update. Dede’s lawyer is a personal injury attorney, Chad Stavely. Apparently Dede is cooperating. On the KGW site I just read that Stavely would be surprised if TH wasn’t arrested and faced charges in the case.

    http://www.kgw.com/home/DeDe-Spicher-testifies-before-grand-jury-99252004-kyron-horman-missing-portland.html

Dede’s dad is in law enforcement in K Falls, OR. My feelings are
that he influenced her to be truthful and help the case. He was on tv the other day picking DeDe up. As he waited a reported talked to him. He was very cordial, nice but couldn’t answer any questions.

Tomorrow at 2 there will be a statement at the Multnomah County Training Site. I live here and had to look it up on the map. Probably 4 miles from my home. Didn’t know it existed. They are supposed to come out with some news. Anymore it is hard to think much of what they will say will be eye opening but this time it is not the sherriff. This was set last week before DeDe was in court.

I hope so badly we will get answers to the really important questions we have been asking. I hope we will know where Kyron is.

    We want our Kyron back.

  36. S says:

Hi FlGirl – thanks for giving your thoughts to the veracity of Tanner and Kurtis’s statements. I still don’t think either would hold up in court, but I’m sure LE has pursued every possibility related to both. I guess I’m focusing on things which can be proven in court.

Looks to me like the Moultons probably just signed over the deed to their house and their retirement funds to Houze. I think the DA’s office working with Kaine’s divorce attorney are making some very smart moves to do whatever is necessary to get Terri in front of a judge. If they can catch her in a lie, then that will undermine anything she has to say in the future. However, as we now know for a fact, Houze is not cheap and I’m sure that is for a very good reason.

And, to the other commenter, (if I go back now I’ll lose this post) about friends helping. You are totally right. There was a case here where a woman who had never had so much as a speeding ticket, helped her boyfriend after he murdered someone and she was sentenced to many, many years in prison.

The latest reports seem to point to DeDe actually contributing to the investigation. I really have to wonder about that. I don’t think Kaine, Desiree and Tony are going to purposely lie to the media. I think the most important news is that DeDe now has a lawyer too! What in the world does DeDe think she is going to be in trouble for? Hmmmmm, wonder how much he/she costs.

    ————————

Yup. Desiree confirmed it in one of her joint interviews with Kaine.
Kaine/Terri/Kyron/Kiara were all to go for ice cream after school in celebration of the science fair project. Then after spending a bit of quality time with Kaine, Terri was to drive Kyron halfway to Medford, to meet Desiree.

  38. carson says:

In no way does my previous comment mean I think Kaine or Desiree did anything to Kyron. SM is guilty as sin, IMO. I just think they all have skeletons they are trying to keep hidden.

I just watched Dateline and think the most sincere and heart-wrenching facial expressions come from Tony. Too bad Kyron didn’t live there instead. The parents really tried to whitewash the relationship dysfunctions. Can someone answer for me when the last time Kyron slept at Desirees? You can tell she feels a lot of guilt. I do feel sorry for her.

Blink: I’ve gotten behind in my reading, so maybe someone else has already commented on this. I was thinking…TMH readily admitted being at the school the a.m. of 6/4 and even posted pictures she took at the SF on FB. But, as you said, the red ‘tang with the vanity plates would be easily noticed. White pickups are much more common (RS also has one). Maybe it wasn’t that TMH didn’t want people to know she was ever at the school that day, but rather she didn’t want people to realize when she left the school grounds if she was still there after 8:45 – the time she claims she left.

  40. Madame Clouseau says:

Marching to a different drum here, I am troubled by what I perceive to be a distinct anti-male dimension to this case. I have the sense that that is somehow woven into the motivation/justification in doing harm to both Kyron and Kaine. Yes, it was personal, but by virtue of the fact that the two would-be victims were male, the harm could be further rationalized.

Flame away if you think I’m off base.

Do we know for certain that Houze was actually paid in money? Forgive me if I overlooked this…I just don’t know how someone would come up with THAT much cash!? Maybe her parents put up their house or something and they are planning on selling “interviews, pictures, etc” to pay it off…once they start talking. Could they do that? And yes, I get the “innocent” comment now that Blink made(I didn’t at first), if one was innocent you might feel more confident in your innocence and not need to pay an outlandish fee to a “heavy hitter” lawyer.

Well, being a detective, I think Tony realizes where all of this is likely leading and it is breaking his heart. The guilt and the “what ifs” are clearly eating away at Desiree. My heart really goes out to her.

Regarding the grand jury: as methodical as LE has been, and considering all the LE agencies involved, I think this grand jury will be in session for quite a while before any indictments are returned. You just never know.

Just finished watching the show tonight. I can’t believe what Desiree has gone through. 8 months pregnant with Kyron and she divorced Kaine with Terri being the “other woman.” Then the next two years she lives near Kaine and has custody of Kyron. Health issues with her kidneys cause her to let Kaine have him and she spends time in Canada. Together they decided after she returned to leave him with Kaine. They have joint custody. Now Kyron is gone. The woman that broke up their marriage is the main suspect. I think Desiree is a very classy, well-spoken woman. This must be terribly hard on her.

    *******************************************************

Okay, I read through the rest of the posts & links last night (and early this a.m.), so I understand Blink’s point about TH possibly not wanting “someone” at Skyline “to know she was there.” Circumstances would pretty much narrow that “someone” down to RS or an associate. TH could more readily avoid someone working outside the school building than she could someone inside the building on a morning when she and others were moving from room to room.

That scenario still leaves in question why TMH gave both KH & DY the understanding she would be at the school until 10:00 while she gave Mrs. P, Kyron’s teacher, the impression she was taking Kyron to a Dr’s appt before classes began, and then stated she left the building, without Kyron, at 8:45. Does this sound like a contradiction to anyone else? …like someone flubbed their own alibi?

  48. mamasocks says:

Motive was initially a puzzle to me but I am sensing such hatred between Terri and her husband. I do believe that Terri was very hurt that her real son was made to leave by him. I kind of think this was an act of revenge. If I am right, then perhaps Kyron is still alive but with someone in another state(?). Also the ls was probably in jail at the time of the sting which accounts for the undercover cop being with him. Otherwise, it was just too dumb. I am NOT defending Terri but it does seem as tho she gave her all for the kids in that marriage and was tossed aside for her efforts – hence the “kidnapping” act. Still hoping that Kyron is alive but this may be wishful thinking. To me, Terri acts as tho she really didn’t do anything other than quid pro quo. Not the actions of a killer per se. Just rambling here.
