AmberAlert

Lumberton, NJ– Manhunt intensifies for convicted sex offender, Terry Corey Dusseault and his 8 year old son, Terry Dusseault, Jr, after his Father abducted him from the home of Dusseault’s brother in Lumberton, NJ yesterday morning.  A check of the sex offender database lists Dusseault’s address at 517 Hamilton Avenue, Lumberton, NJ.

Authorities say the father bolted with his son when police were trying to arrest him on sex assault and child endangerment involving three other kids, none of them being his son.

The father’s sex offender status stems from a prior conviction in another state.

“We want T.J. home. Grandma’s concerned, uncle’s concerned … I want my brother home, and I want my nephew home. Everyone’s very concerned,” Dusseault’s brother told MyFoxPhilly.

The father was described as being a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 210 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He has a tattoo on his left arm of “NY,” and a tattoo on his upper chest with the words “Schaney.”

He was last seen wearing tan short sleeve shirt and khaki shorts and was driving a black 2001 Hyundai Sante Fe registered to his girlfriend, Amy L. White, with New Jersey plates of LXB61U.

The son was described as being 4 feet 8 inches tall, 80 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is urged to call 911.

If I were a desperate and panicked perp parent in NJ and just wanted some “time” to explain myself to my captive victim son, I might take a long drive on side roads to a comfortable spot. Now which of his former addresses would he consider a comfortable yet anonymous spot? Rochester?

I think that is his deceased wife’s parents.

I am very concerned about this child to say the least.

Why oh why are these ANIMALS allowed to walk the streets…Pedofiles can never be cured. They should be locked up FOR LIFE. or put out of their misery! I am so so sick of these freaks having rights and continue to harm our children. These scumbags HAVE NO RIGHTS! Bleeding heart judges need to wake up. it is as if they do not care about our kids. Its getting really sad in this country.

I’m confused about what Dusseault’s brother said–he wants Terry “home”?
Hopefully so that he’ll be fully prosecuted, convicted, and incarcerated.

Do we know if the other 3 children were Terry’s brother’s kids?

There’s something going on here, the alias’s and such do not add up, I cannot find an obit for the mom anywhere.

I am so frustrated with our judicial system. My sister was in a relationship with a man for 12yrs. From day one…the rest of us got the creepy vibe from him. Of course, she thought that he fell from the heavens. Wouldn’t hear our concerns. A few years after they began seeing each other (after he had fathered their first child together) it comes out that he has spent time in jail because someone “faulsly accused” him of rape. The victim was a 14yo girl that he swears he thought was of age, (he is a registered offender in the state that the crime was commited). GIMME A BREAK. My sister has an older son & daughter. I voiced my concern for her daughter. Of course, she didn’t want to hear it. They live in another state. Our family wasn’t there to see the day to day happenings. She ended up having a 2nd child with him. She would call & talk about his pot habit…his cheating…his porn problem. I couldn’t understand why she would let him blame it on her…. (I should add that she was raped by our stepfather @ age 16). The guy that she ended up with was EXACTLY like our stepfather. Over the years, my sister would make comments that would make me question whether he would sexually abuse a child. Of course, she said there was no possible way. Finally, my sister left him about a year ago. My niece, my sis daughter…not his…ended up in a psychiatric hospital because she had been hearing voices. Our other sister & myself kept asking if he could have abused her. “no, no…I would know….”. FINALLY it comes out that he’s done dispicable things to her. She’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia. Is on heavy duty meds for that. My sister took her to the police station where she was interviewed…. They opened an investigation…my sister is terrified for her safety & her childrens safety. He’s made threats…she’s told that she can’t file a restraining order until the investigation is over. Meanwhile…he has visitation of their biological children & the custody hearing isn’t for another month & a half. My other niece (their daughter together) is the age that her half sister was when he started abusing her. I have feared that my sisters ex would do something similar to what Terry Dusseault has done… There needs to be harsher penalties for people who hurt children!

  15. LPB says:

My step-uncle is from East Texas. He always jokes about growing up out there, but I know every joke has a bit of truth to it. He’d joke, when the law was looking for someone who commited a horrible crime and couldn’t be found, the townsfolk would just say, Who? We don’t know who you are speaking of. They take the law into their own hands and then just go about their daily business. At least thats one way of keeping the peace.

  16. Carol says:

I saw this on Nancy Grace lastnight – I honestly felt in my heart he would be found. And thank goodness he has.

But what about the little cheerleader in Great Bend, Kansas? Have they identified the badly burned body they found on the outskirts of her town as Alicia?

Not sure I can take much more of these little sweetie pies and their tragedies.

  17. twinkletoes says:

Glad this child is safe. But what a horrible time for this kid. Mom is deceased. Dad is a pedophile and going to prison, hopefully for a long time. Poor baby. Jeez

For what it is worth, here is what I found about Terry Corey Dusseault’s deceased wife. One of the articles mentioned that he has a tattoo that reads Schaney. I found a Schanoie M Dusseault who was born 8-16-76 and passed 12-14-02 in 27534 Goldsboro, Wayne NC.

Maybe some other leads would be the prosecutor that was quoted in a news article. His name is Joel Bewley and he works for the Burlington County Prosecutor’s office, 609-265-5035.

The newspaper for the town where Schanoie passed is the Goldsboro News Argus, obits@newsargus.com and (919) 739-7791.

Yep, and it should be used every time a child is missing for any reason for any length of time.

  22. Mom3.0 says:

I am glad that he was found safe.
Is the father allowed unsupervised visitation?

I wonder if his girlfriend knew of his past- and I wonder if she will be letting her boyfriend borrow her vehicle again?

Last comment- This little boy has obviously already been through alot. His mom dead and his dad-being his dad.

I am just thinking- with school going back in to session, what is this little guy going to have to endure?- Kids can be cruel- sometimes unknowingly… Parents even more cruel- sometimes in an effort to protect their own children.

Everyone is going to know Terry Jr.’s life story- How will this little guy handle that? He needs support.

I hope that his family or the state will give him some sort of therapy- so that he is better able to deal with his father’s choices and the effect of his latest on his son.

  23. Sister says:

Yes, yes, yes the Amber Alert works!!! Thank goodness.
My prayers for this little fellow. He has a long road ahead of him. How I wish I could give him a hug and let him know there are people here who really care about him and his life, not just today but into the future as well.
Sheila, thank you for sharing your story. It is by sharing that our sensitivity to people and issues remain raised. I will pray for your family during this time of transition, it will be painful and scary. Remain blessed.

    RE: The Office
Looks like a combination of Toby and Kevin to me.

On another note, I was not surprised to see that this RSO has custody of his child. It is WRONG but isn’t it the norm? RSOs can legally live in a house with children (their own or others) as long as it is not a condition of their probation that they do not live with children. So, if Mom (not in this case) is blind to her husband’s/boyfriend’s ways, she can legally let an RSO live under the same roof as her children as long as it is not a condition of probation. I got that straight from an Arizona DA’s mouth.

Who ARE these people that will give such a horrendous picture of the child to the news media? ~still shaking head in disbelief~

I agree that boy will need some counseling.

  27. Judi says:

Is it me or does there seem to be a kind of war against children going on these days. Geez. It seems like every single day, there is another child in danger, often times at the hands of their own parents. What is going on?

  28. twinkletoes says:

@Judi–it isn’t you. There is a war against children. At least half of the people who get pregnant wanted sex, not children. Regretably, the two are still connected.

  29. twinkletoes says:

    @RichM

I was thinking the same thing and then when the updated photo was presented, it was totallly blurry. The sad reality is this poor boy was not well cared for, not cherished the way the rest of us camera-happy moms and dads cherish our babes. I would bet my sock there are very few pictures of the little guy, and the few good ones are probably in deceased mom’s stuff or in perp dad’s stuff, so were likely inaccessible.
    :O( Sad.

  30. tracylee says:

So nice to see a happy ending for once! Hopefully, the rest of his family will be able to make a stable home for this little guy once his dad is locked up for a while (hopefully forever).

  31. Carol says:

The unidentifiable body found Tuesday afternoon was that of missing Great Bend teen Alicia DeBolt, Kansas Attorney General Steve Six said Thursday morning. During a news conference at the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Regional Office in Great Bend, Six also said his office would handle prosecution of the case.

Authorities said it was not a random killing. They have not identified a suspect/suspects or identified a person(s)of interest at this time. The investigation is continuing.

WTF!!!! No suspects? There are approximately 30 SO’s in the area she lived. What about the 19 year old that picked her up to go to the party?

    This sickens me.

  32. Kleat says:

Great news, Blink. Thanks kitjcat117, Amber Alert does work.

How can they say that it was not a random killing and yet say that they have no suspects? If they have no POI, then they couldn’t know if it was random or not.

Sounds to me like they know but aren’t releasing.

How was she not recognizable after only a few days? What was done to this poor child?

And, the 19 year old was that last one she was seen with and she never made it to her destination after that, so to me, he would be a POI.

Yes!! And, so many people who would love to have children and make wonderful parents, but cannot conceive. What a shame.

If someone doesn’t want their child, can’t handle being a parent, or whatever the circumstances are, then at least have the decency to give the child to someone who does want them, someone who can love them and someone who wants to be a parent to them!!

It breaks my heart every time I hear of another child in danger, which seems to be everyday anymore. Thank God in Heaven this one had a happy ending.

Maybe now this child can be given the chance to be happy and cared for properly and his RSO/POS father can get what he deserves as well.

  35. Rich M says:

@Twinkletoes: you are right that the poor boy has probably suffered a lot.

THANK YOU BLINK or whomever it was that photoshopped the picture. That was just horrible and totally unnecessary.

    Relatives attend custody hearing

MOUNT HOLLY – Relatives of an 8-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert last week were in Superior Court on Friday for a custody hearing with New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services officials.

The hearing was closed, and Judge John Call said he would instruct the participants to keep the outcome confidential.

The boy, Terry Dusseault III, disappeared with his father, Terry Dusseault Jr., Tuesday morning after the father learned that police intended to arrest him on charges of aggravated sexual assault. An Amber Alert was issued because of concerns about the father’s mental state and the boy’s safety.

The two were located the next afternoon in Medford. The 38-year-old father was arrested and sent to Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly on $300,000 bail. The boy was placed in the custody of Family Services.

The boy’s maternal grandmother, Sally Chapman, said Friday morning that Family Services placed the boy in the care of a foster family pending the outcome of the custody hearing.

Chapman, who lives in North Carolina, said she is interested in getting custody of the boy, also known as TJ, as are his paternal grandmother and uncle.
