Man, what a blow…. well hopefully they are investigating who else it could belong to. That would explain the alleged “laughing” that Joran’s atty supposedly said happened when they told Joran her remains were found per NG, of course he laughed, he knows what happened to her and knows her jawbone wouldn’t have washed ashore, punk!

  2. Mom3.0 says:

Such heart-breaking news. Thank you for the update, Blink.

My thoughts are with her family and friends…… Whose jaw is it then, another missing person’s?

  3. Keefer says:

Will the United States get a chance to do the testing on this jawbone also??? Aruba’s police are, to put it simply, ‘lacking’, they had the MURDERER and CONFESSION(S) and let him go to do it all over again….almost to the DAY Natalee was murdered by this sociopathic loser!

  4. Keefer says:

P.S. Also was wondering if you or any other readers know anything about the Shaniya Davis murder? It seems that all information has ceased, the ‘monster’ who murdered her is still in jail, but the ‘biological female parent’ who “traded” her for a drug bill owed still hasn’t been back to court in months, and months. Thanks, Keefer

  5. Essay Kaye says:

So disappointed. Her mom and dad seem like such strong people; I’m sure they will never stop searching. I was so hoping this find would provide them with some peace.

  6. Eloise says:

Late as usual. I am so disappointed for Natalie’s family. I also just briefly heard on the news that Beth H is upset with the way the Aruban authorities made their announcement. Apparently, she heard in the same way as MSM. Do these people have a clue? I feel they have maxed out on their pain for a lifetime and it’s time for a win for them. Prayers.

    That is 100% true.

As a free service to the aRUDEian Govt, I have designed their next tourism ad:

Come To aRUDEa… A Jaw dropping pleasure.

BTW, my friends wedding there I refused to attend? They are getting a divorce.
    Jus sayin’

ps. You assbags that steal my crap as your own, don’t even.

  7. A Texas Grandfather says:

I wouldn’t believe the forensics from the lying Aruban authorities unless it was checked by the FBI.

If this is a jawbone from a young white female and they claim it is not Natalee, then who else is missing in the area? Of Course being Aruba there is no crime according to their PR.

I hate to say this, but that was my first comment to Klaasend.
I hope they preserved a sample or the certified reports.

    Yes, that.

  9. Pomona71 says:

The whole senario smacks of a set up. A jawbone rolling around in the sand for over several years would be abraded severely. I wonder
if a place lilke the Body Farm could do tests to see how long it had
been tumbling around in the water currents, etc. Being born in FL
and being at the beach many, many times, I’ve seen how shells look
pounded in the surf I am suspicious that after several years, a bone
could be identified. I’d like to see a photo and hear from others.

I’m still new here (I am a grandma who used to read Nancy Drew books growing up; I think all of them over and over, so go figure), and have little of value to post, but boy, do I read here! I love Blink’s style; and lots of very smart people contributing. I will say that Aruba was on our vacation list; it’s been off for a long, long time because of this case. People really need to think before they go…

  11. Randie says:

    Bullcrap!

They will cover their own a$$.

They will not tell the truth.

I just finished reading Chris George and then this….

    Bullcrap!

    I am already mad…now I am furious!

    Where is justice??????

  12. Lilah says:

Sad and very disappointing, if true. I really hope the family got a sample and are allowed to do their own independent testing. The Aruban authorities have pretty poor credibility.

  13. Josie says:

This is sad news. I was so hoping it could answer some questions for Natalie’s parents. Disheartening. It does make you wonder though, how many young women have been murdered and tossed in the ocean, there?

  14. Minnie Penney says:

Natalee’s family supplied her dental records to NFI. The remaining tooth in the jaw bone was a “wisdom” tooth (I had to have all four of mine cut out – not fun – and I guess I lost all my “wisdom”…) Natalee had her wisdom teeth removed prior to her trip to Aruba. To me, the pics I saw of the bone looked very, very old. There are a number of shipwrecks in that area, weather, and WWII activity – Nazi subs were in the area. Could be a whole lot of dead folks around. Amy Bradley, from Virginia, went missing off a cruise ship in that area. Maybe Dr.Phil was onto something when he did that show suggesting Natalee was in a brothel in Venesuela. A U.S. Navy guy claimed he met Amy Bradley in a brothel in Venesuela a few years back. Jeez… I spent a summer in Europe in 1966 I was twenty and “bullet proof”. It is a wonder I got home alive….Seriously… I know Jesus does watch over us. The Bradley family lives in Virginia, I think in the same county where I live. We have not heard any news for a long time.

  16. Minnie Penney says:

Jimmy Hoffa? If not Giant’s Stadium….shark chum in Aruba – I think the latter might be messier but safer, you never know when concrete is gonna crack. Aruba was a big slave market back in the days of Dixie. Pirates everywhere. Earthquakes, hurricanes, tidal waves. Not sure about volcanoes….eh, why not….There could be remains of many people of many years there. About Natalee, she could have been sold. That sounds like something Joran would do – for poker money. I often wondered if she might be stashed in a high rise penthouse in a country where blondes are rare….Hong Kong…Riyadh, Medina. I’m not saying she is alive, but, at this time we have no proof of her death.

I think anything is possible. I would love to think that she is alive even if being kept hostage as a sex slave. I would love to see her rescued!!! one never knows!

  22. Ragdoll says:

I wonder if this jawbone could belong to Amy Bradley (it took me a long time to find her name. It completely eluded me, but not her short blonde funky hair). I don’t remember where I read about it initially (on the net) but found a link that recalls her disappearance from a cruise ship near Aruba in 1998.

    http://www.internationalcruisevictims.org/LatestMemberStories/Amy_Lynn_Bradley.html

Sadly, gov’t authorities (which gov’t????) would not comment on her disappearance.

I was so sure it was Natalee. :(

  23. Minnie Penney says:

Chica, well stated….Joran has won a one-way ticket to hell, for sure. I wonder how long a sentence he will get in Peru – guess we will find out soon.

Joran van der Sloot’s U.S. Extradition Approved

The Peruvian Supreme Court has approved the extradition of Joran van der Sloot to the U.S. on charges of extorting money from the family of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.

There is just one small catch — Van der Sloot’s extradition will not take place until he serves out his 28-year sentence for the 2010 murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores.

Friday’s ruling is not bad news for the prosecution, according to an international defense expert.

“There is an upside because the U.S. now has several years to put together a murder investigation. On murder, there is no statute of limitations,” said Michael Griffith, senior partner at the International Legal Defense Counsel.

Van der Sloot will be eligible for parole after serving one-third of his sentence. He could be extradited in as few as seven years.

According to Griffith, whose most renowned case, involving an American incarcerated in a Turkish prison, was the basis for the film and book “Midnight Express,” Van der Sloot would likely face a five- to 10-year sentence in the U.S. for the alleged extortion. But, it is possible additional charges related to Holloway could be filed later.

“Maybe by the time he is released, [the U.S.] will have an airtight case against him in Natalee Holloway’s disappearance,” said Griffith.
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/04/joran-van-der-sloot-extradition_n_1569106.html

A conviction in the United States could affect van der Sloot’s chances of being paroled in Peru … I think he will be extradited within the next three months,” Altez said last month. “He will go to trial in the United States. Once he is sentenced, he will return to Peru to finish serving his 28 years, and then go back to the States to serve whatever sentence he gets there.”

Van der Sloot admitted to killing Flores, 21, in his Lima hotel room. The judges gave him a sentence two years short of the 30-year maximum. They ordered he be expelled from Peru at the end of his sentence and required him to pay about $74,500 in reparations to Flores’ relatives.

  36. Jack says:

Blink – what do you make of these new developments in Natalee’s case? Do you think this Jurrien de Jong is believable? Do you think Aruba/Marriott officials are digging in their heels because of Joran’s father, and because it might be true? One article says that the Marriott claims there was no construction going on when she disappeared, but wouldn’t there be numerous records of when construction began – contracts, invoices, photos, etc.?

I have seen the earth /satellite images and I think the issue is what some consider a construction site. It does not appear to me that they were in active excavation mode or pouring footers. For me, I am pretty sold on the fact that Joran with some emergency help from Dad, put Nat in the ocean. Here’s why- if she were to be located under the building there would be no doubt that it was a murder. If parts of her or belongings surface his story about the beach is actually corroborated.
