Jose Mason

“He has lulled himself into a false sense of competence.”

Hold The Hubris Pass The Humility

The saga begins as follows:

Aging local *legend in his own mind* defense attorney gets “defendant envy” when he sees the dude he thought was the busboy at all The Florida Bar functions, making more on his first big case, with more media face time, than Or lawn do has ever seen. Seasoned barrister signs on for his professional *see alice*, if you will.

Wait, kidding, not the saga in question, my bad.

Yesterday, on behalf of Casey Anthony, lead counsel with Jose Baez, J. Cheney Mason put to “motion” what undoubtedly was screaming inside his head as Mr. Baez bumbled, err, argued, against the States motion for contempt and sanctions last week.  The reconsideration request drafted by Attorney Mason will undoubtedly come as a surprise to Judge Perry.  When his Honor asked Mason why the deadline was not met at the State’s hearing:

..”Was there any particular reason that was not complied with?..”

Mason replied, “The answer to that is I don’t know.”

Mr. Baez was found in contempt and fined less than the cost of his ipad.

I am not an attorney, but I do know that you cannot introduce new and different bullsh*it you neglected to bore the court with previously AND when you had the opportunity to respond and argue with a new tie and pocketsquare ensemble.

Apparently Judge Perry was not swayed by Baez “.. They say they will call but they never do..” argument, insinuating all Jeff Ashton had to do was call him to work out what his other previous 4 email requests could not.

Makes sense to me now that he put it like that, right?

Everyone knows you can trust what a defense attorney says on the phone who will not commit same information to writing. Duh.

Damn this traffic jam how I hate to be late.. It hurts my motor to go so slow..

I have this vision of Atty Slabaugh driving down the 4 with the top down and the 300 pages he threw in the back “loose”, are flying all over the freeway behind him. So that’s the problem.. the dang clerk’s office refusing to tie up their fax, dedicate 2 folks to replace toner and paper in the middle of the 300 page and 5 hour late response, while jamming every other case and function, for Casey Anthony. Missed the memo as well, I presume.

How insensitive. First word folks.. flash-drive. Second word.. GARMIN. It does not take 5 hours to get from Kissimme to Orlando, and that’s assuming he left when the filing was already past deadline.

Moving on to the defense’s whine list:

My fave- Dr. Lee found 17 hairs in a car that is believed to have transported the victim in this instant capital murder case and therefore he should not be expected to testify about it.

BBBBBBBBAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAAA. Seriously?

To date, this is absolutely the most laughable attempt to publicly excuse a witness who Mr. Baez apparently does not consider important enough to pay his dang expenses out of pocket for.

I hear this in my head:

Dr. Lee is not going to be called to testify OR be available for a deposition, cause, like, maybe the harsh weather will not produce that case of luscious oranges, but we are not sure yet, so please wait while we ask the plant lady, who will of course be testifying about plants, but you knew that already. Please tell me you knew that already.

Not to be confused with p-l-a-n-t-i-n-g, as we plan to move to strike or suppress any appearance of the words ” Dr. Henry Lee” and the word “planting” that appear on the same page of any document or media article, as well as within the silent thoughts of any of them-there bloggin’ types.

Navel_box

Lest we forget, Mr. Lee, who will not be testifying anyway if his expenses are not going to be paid, was denied access to an active homicide recovery scene while CST’s were still removing the tiny bones of Caylee Anthony from her swamp tomb.. the nerve of OCSO.

I mean, who knows what Dr. Lee could have come up with in that cornucopia of specimens.

Maybe even Kronk’s Oscar Meyer weenie whistle from the third grade perhaps.

Apparently the defense team , while discussing the virtues of Jose Hubris’s new “do”, missed the free lesson on the actual designation of the Crime Scene Technician, or CST, as mentioned by Jeff Ashton as opposed to the continued reference to “CSI” in defense motions.

Freeman is Freed

Dr. Michael Freeman, who up until last forever was working on his reports for the defense, will not be testifying, although he has not been removed from the defense witness list by presstime.

In an earlier blinkoncrime.com article, I opined about Dr. Freeman’s potential contribution to the case as it relates to a possible death by natural causes. In Judge Perry’s contempt order, it is clear that any expert witness whose opinions or conclusions are not part of discovery, will be excluded from the trial testimony by the defense.

Note- no reporting, no conclusions, no discovery from Dr. Freeman, an expert witness listed in a two year old case. Draw your own conclusions, or, maybe the incident in Washington where an individual with the same name and age helped himself to an Army cell phone that did not belong to him at a Federal facility is “of concern”.

A hearing is scheduled this Friday January 14 to hear the matter.

JudgePerry

Late this morning a Judicial Assistant from Chief Judge Perry’s Chambers, speaking from a microphone at the defense table he turned on and off by himself, read aloud to Blink, Editor In Chief blinkoncrime.com, the order he is to prepare for Friday, as dictated to him by my Judge Perry daydream-thought-bubble this afternoon:

Mr. Mason, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul*.

Full disclosure: Maybe without his reading glasses Cheney Mason thought he was penning a request for a vacation, not a request to vacate.. In which case, who could blame the man? I say grant it without prejudice or reservations.

Question… Does Casey get to eat from the deli when in the pre hearings or is something brought in for her from the jail in a brown bag?

    good day all

Hello Claudia, It is my understanding that inmates are required to eat alone- I have heard that their food is brought up from the caft- being a sandwich juice ect- something that will still be good whenever lunch recess is called- I am not positive that this happens in regards to Casey…but I would think that it is similar. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

Chelsea & ragdoll, I know that WESH plans on covering the trial come may. i am not certain of the other online newssites. I would agree that WFTV would, as they are the only site that consistently replays the court proceedings.

Todays court- I will have to rewatch alot of it-Ive missed so much of todays proceedings… but from what I have seen so far. Baez is doing fine- makes the whole Bozo “act” just that an act.(Yes he still full of his smugness and smirks… very hard to like the guy.)Although I do not know if the law is n his side…

LDB is doing great redirecting she is on point. And cuts through the ssmoke and mirrors.

It boils down to whether or not the judge will except the defense’s arguments are not, & what the law dictates He must do.

I do not know enough about the laws to give my guess but will say if there is a way to include these statements ect- LDB did her best to present the facts to as to why it should be included/permitted.

Blink, Do you have any thoughts to share on how you think the judge will rule? TIA

I am really sorry Blink but as a fellow Jersey Girl I speak my mind. Why does Bozo even have a license to practice law. The key word is practice as he has not mastered the law. I can’t even handle the pre trial stuff he is spewing. How am I going to go thru the trial….

NJsleuth – I’m with you, how the heck can I sit through a trial with Bozo! Sat through most of today’s hearing (just had a tooth extracted, nasty, stitches the lot and was advised to take it easy for 3 or 4 days). Perfect timing to rest up with my laptop tuned to WFTV. Not sure how I feel about Lee, might he tell the truth come the trial? Casey behaved like a cross between a Court Reporter and an Origami instructor, so much scribbling and paper folding!

I have just watched 2 days of Casey Anthony scribbling on paper. She writes no matter who is talking or what the subject matter is. Have you notice that she rips off a piece of paper and folds it before writing on it?

  7. Mom3.0 says:

    Agents of The State

Today Jose Baez and the Defense tried to prove Casey’s father and brother were/are “Agents of the State”.

George, Caylee’s grandfather, was up first. IMO it is obvious that he is sad and angry. IMO he is only angry at himself and what he now perceives as his failing in parenting and protecting his loved ones- from little Caylee- right on thru to Casey.

He tried (and failed IMO) to paint himself as an “Agent of The State”- I think he wants to punish himself, and give his wife back her beloved daughter at any cost.

Just because his goal to find out where Caylee was, and bring her home safely, coincided with The States goal, does not make him an Agent of the State. Just because LE agreed with him, that the only person who could help them find Caylee, was Casey, does not mean they made him An Agent of the State. Just because LE helped set up visitations to see his daughter, (the last person, that was with Caylee, and may have information) does not mean he was made an “Agent of the State”.

Just because LE took George to the jail after Casey “reached out” does not mean he was An Agent of The State. The meeting did not happen, and George was recorded while in route, w/out his knowledge- JMO, thereby proving he wasn’t An Agent of the State-(wouldn’t he be in on the whole thing?) and IMO it was recorded to safeguard LE in the event the meeting went thru- to show that it was infact George’s wishes that were being followed not LE’s agenda…

Today George testified that “he was working with” LE to bring Caylee home- so was everyone else, the media, the public, everyone, except for Casey.

That does not mean George was not “on Casey’s side”- JMO He at the time, believed “Caylee’s side” was “Casey’s side”…

I think he honestly believed if given the chance, his daughter would want the same goal reached as himself and LE, to bring Caylee home, by helping -and clearing up any “misconstrued” words or facts… That does not mean that George betrayed Casey or that he failed her, that means she has from day one, never on “Caylee’s side”, and that she is the one that failed Caylee and the family…not the other way around. MOO

From todays proceedings it is, JMO, that Jose Baez feels that ANYONE that was “on Caylee’s side” was/is an Agent of the State.

Anyone that was determined to get the facts straight in regards to the circumstances surrounding Caylee’s disappearance was/is an agent of the state, it seems according to Jose Baez.

Anyone who desperately wanted Casey to give more accurate information, inorder to supply a better starting point to find Caylee and bring her home was/is an Agent of the State, according to JB…

In addition to this line of thinking, JMO, Jose Baez believes anyone that ever questioned his motives, or competency is/was an Agent of the State.

Well that IMO would be Casey’s family (at least in the beginning) as well as most of the population…. It seems most everyone at one time or another, has questioned JB motives & competency… including his co-council, Mr. Mason ect..

Is everyone An Agent Of The State?

Everyone, including Casey’s family, wanted Caylee found, No one except Casey, had ever seen The nanny, No one except for Casey had ever claimed to drop off Caylee at/with the nanny -No one but casey claimed to have recieved a call from Caylee july15th… Everyone needed Casey’s help in finding Caylee.

Everyone was “on Caylee’s side” ( especially in the beginning ) except Casey Anthony and ofcourse Mr. Baez, as he was hired by Casey Anthony, early on, and she was, rightfully, his only concern-

Again, everyone else it seems, was An Agent of the State, as their main concern was bringing little Caylee home and getting the truth.

In today’s proceedings JB made this about being “on Caylee side” or “Casey’s side”- it is clear where everyone stood/stands, including his client, the accused, Casey Marie Anthony

Her main concern seemed to always be for herself. JMO She has always looked out for #1 , Casey- from the very beginning, from June 16th , thru the 31 days…….

Thru every shopping spree, text message sent, every movie watched, each moment spent with her boyfriend, each joint smoked, every restaurant visited, each beer enjoyed, every party/nightclub attended- each tattoo had- every meal eaten- thru every MS/FB posting, thru each icon uploaded, thru every friend back-stabbed, thru every stolen dollar spent, thru every lie told- right on thru July 15th- and “give me one more day”, thru every 911 call, Thru each call home…thru every police officer interview…… Casey’s main concern seemed to be only Casey.

Thru every jail visit- thru every court proceeding- thru each release from jail- thru each search effort- thru every arrest- thru every visit with her family refused, thru even the discovery of her baby daughters remains- thru the memorial service- thru years of jail, thru every letter to “cookie”- THRU EVERY LIE TOLD It seems to be , that Casey’s allegiance and concern was for Casey not Caylee… IMO in as far as I can tell, she has never once did anything, that would make anyone feel that she has ever, for even one moment, been on “Caylee’s side”.

So besides Casey and her attorney, Mr Baez, I think under his definition,(and hers) EVERYONE else is/was on “Caylee’s side” which in their eyes is synonymous with an Agent of the State.

Lee — I felt sympathy for him, as he testified to getting info from Baez’s office- and when he answered “maybe” to the inquiry- if he would have shared a confidence with LE- to which Casey shrugged her shoulders and looked towards Mason as if to say see–Caylee’s side not mine=Agent of the State-

George I felt sorry for too, at the end, when he tearfully testified that he would do anything to save his daughter’s life- even if that meant facing criminal charges himself…thereby proving IMO that he is willing to do anything, even lie on the stand and willingly put himself squarely on “Casey’s side” in front of the ever speeding bus inorder to spare his daughters life.

It is a very horrible position that Casey Anthony has put them all in…with her choices and lies ect. I think it is so sad that their beloved daughter and sister, Casey, has always made this about choosing sides-

daughter against granddaughter/niece– Casey vs Caylee -even now, it is not State vs Casey, Not really State vs defense, but instead it is “Caylee’s side” vs “Casey’s side”

My prayers for the whole Anthony family

    All JMO

  8. chelsea1515 says:

Mom3.0 – Brilliantly put, couldn’t agree more. Whilst I hate the fact that the Anthony’s are prepared to lie and are prepared to throw anyone to the wolves, and whilst I personally loathe Casey Anthony, I wouldn’t wish this situation on my worst enemy. Just wish they would do the decent thing for Caylee and answer truthfully. Casey has to pay for her actions, that’s not to say her family shouldn’t support her no matter what the outcome but they have to live with themselves for the rest of their lives. I pray they have the courage to do the right thing.

  9. Ragdoll says:

As always Mom3.0!!! I couldn’t wait to hear your input on the last few days.

Jose appears more threatened by how ‘his’ character is perceived rather than Casey’s. He tends to lose his point and often, the witnesses look confused about his line of questioning. It’s JMHO, but Baez is not creating doubt, just confusion.

I also don’t think Casey’s constant primping looks good. I think she needs to have her hand’s duct taped to the table (no disrespect to Caylee). As for her constant writing, it’s a diversion, avoiding eye contact from family witnesses. It shows shame and guilt, imo (can’t look them in the eyes; head hung long, etc). Yet, I believe as Val Hall (IIRC) put it, she seemed to directly gaze into Sgt. Hosey’s eyes. Does she think she’s Helen of Troy and will distract certain witnesses from their testimony with her ‘ahem’….beauty?

I can’t hear the word ‘sustained’ or ‘over ruled’ where Baez is concerned, often enough.

  10. Ragdoll says:

EDIT: head hung long should read ‘head hung low’. Apollies!!!

  11. Ragdoll says:

Will the video with Casey’s reaction to the discovery of Caylee’s remains, ever be made public?

  12. Ragdoll says:

    Um….media leaks?

Baez’s mug has been all over the media! Talks shows, addressing media questions, flapping his gums because of inexperience and his love for hearing his own voice. Well now I’m just getting angry. Don’t get me started on George and Cindy.

  13. Word Girl says:

Ragdoll! “Flapping his gums” made me imagine the Toothless Wonder Boy who is the laughing stock of the legal world and has no clue the he is responsible for Casey’s life. I would laugh, too, if it were not too sad.

  16. Leslee S. says:

    Hey guys!

My question is: What was the purpose yesterday when Baez, basically, made George break down & admit that he would do anything, including ignoring a subpoena to appear in court, if it would help his daughter? Did that not prove that anything George were to say to a jury could be taken as a lie? Isn’t George admitting that he is willing to lie or whatever?

  17. Mom3.0 says:

    Hello all.

Thanks WordGirl, Ragdoll, & chelsea, for your kind words on my posting and thanks for sharing your thoughts about the hearings ect.

Leslee, Hi, I don’t know exactly why Baez asked that question in that way- several times he seemed to be doing the job of the prosecutors, at least at first glance.

But in this instance, IMO I thought maybe he asked that question in exactly that way inorder to provoke that exact response of George…

George IMO did alot of damage to himself by his eagerness to show anger and contempt for the State/prosecution and even LE…I think his behavior was not endearing, as it could be seen by a potential juror as questionable -They may be asking themselves…

Why is the grandfather of this baby so hateful and aggressive towards those that were/are trying to help him and his family? Is it only because he is mad that the evidence points towards his daughter? Does he not care what happened, and who helped find his granddaughter, because this help included uncovering evidence that his daughter had something to do with the child’s disappearance and murder?……

So I think Baez was trying to rehumanize George and garner some “positive emotion” ie symapathy for George, thereby hoping George’s breakdown and (pp) promise to do anything by any means legal or illegal inorder to save both his granddaughter’s life/bring her home, and his “baby” daughters life, Casey/bring her home would be enough to sway some to feel sorry for George & hopefully erase any disdain that may have occurred do to his earlier courtroom behaviors. JMO

Todays proceedings…Well I thought Yuri did well, he seemed likable and truthful- ( I think Baez was the one to question LE today and yesterday in the hopes of exposing LE’s dislike disrespect for him…IMO it didn’t work)

Baez did better than I figured he would…but fell short in several regards, and surpassed in others JMO

He tried hard to make it seem as if Yuri and LE manipulated the Anthony’s into becoming agents of the State- LDB made excellent strides today in bringing forth that it was The Anthony’s who desperately wanted Anyone to talk to Casey inorder to find out ways to bring Caylee home- they asked time and time again if Yuri and LE could go and talk to Casey or if the FBI could or if they themselves could somehow get answers from Casey

    - LDB pointed out the Yuri was trying to be compassionate to their plight when answering and reanswering that no one could talk to Casey unless she “reached out”..but they could, and Yuri tried to help by giving them ex. on how it would be possible for Casey to “reach out” If SHE chose to, not at Yuri or LE or the FBI insistence…

-BTW I really didn’t understand J.Baez last questions to Yuri, and why they were allowed in, it seemed to have nothing to do with the motion being heard..LDB objected and wanted it stricken but HJP denied her request.

Cindy testified today, she was very snippy and IMO tried hard to mask the truth. She was on point for the most part, and only had to be reprimanded once I believe.

LDB asked (pp) if LE had asked her to help build a case against Casey- …If she was working with them in this regard- Cindy answered she would never knowingly or willingly help build a case against Casey…IMO thereby essentially admitting that she will change her testimony/lie ect if the truth aids in the case against her daughter.MOO

Several motions were decided- KB won’t be a witness- The States motion in limine were granted, Hmmm others as well, were decided- I can’t remember them all- HJP said he will decide case by case if he will allow the defense to bring up leaks ect…although he said he didn’t understand how it, even with proof(there isnt any) how it would tend to prove or disprove guilt/innocence of Casey to any of the charges.

The arrest custody/statements thrown-out was not ruled on and neither was the Agents of the State/thrown out statements ect- it is my understanding their will be a hearing on Mon at 2pm inorder to hear closing arguments on these motions.

In watching these hearings it became apparent to me that the last years have been hard on Cindy George and Lee- IMO you can see how the sadness, stress, grief, ect has etched itself in their faces, in their hair, in the posture ect. The last years have taken a toll…yet theres Casey…bright-eyed, youthful- no pain or turmoil or grief, etched across her face- she seems to not have a care in the world… I find that very telling and scary.

Casey seems to be indifferent to her family’s feelings.. She seems to show contempt or nothing at all for George, nomatter how he tries..she seems to care a little more for Lee she smiled yesterday, although after his testimony she ignored his Iloveyou…For Cindy she seems to smile, & she cried yesterday upon first seeing her– She does however become animated when interacting with her council, and in sharing giggles and smiles & shrugs ect with them.

Does she care some? Alittle? Not at all? Is she capable of any really emotion?

It seems that Cindy and George love her so…They want to “help” Casey in anyway, even if that means twisting their memories/truth as far as they can(perhaps over) Lee is more of an unknown, although i am sure he loves his sister- i am not sure how far he went or is willing to go to “proveit” IMO… Casey’s side vs Caylee’s side?

I can understand on one hand…Casey’s life is on the line but on the otherhand, their Caylee is dead..shouldn’t they tell the truth nomatter what… nomatter where the evidence leads? Don’t they want to know the truth? Doesn’t Caylee deserve to have the whole truth told? Even if that ends up proving Casey’s innocence or even her absolute guilt? Shouldn’t it be based on the total truth?

IDK…I guess I am a little weary about justice and how the system works…Don’t get me wrong, I think justice will prevail & I am glad we have checks and balances ect, but sometimes I wonder how the truth of guilt or innocence, whatever it may be, sometimes can be so easily hidden or lost with lies, money and motions and mistakes, & media & all the rest…

    Have a good weekend guys

I found her depo very informative all the same, as it points out several interesting things I did not know regarding little Caylee’s placement ect. She states that it is her thoughts that little Caylee was only there for a week to two weeks. Which I believe will be easily
    proven false.

I forgot to mention yesterday, that Jose Baez will not be held in contempt as he publicly apologized for his behavior ect..
Also Yesterday Casey’s lawyer Ms. Simms argued the plant root and chloroform motions need a Frye Hearing-

She did well -it is clear she is adept at choosing words that mask the real truth of the situation, I hope Judge Perry does his homework and can sort thru the well placed BS. (I thought the prosecution did not argue these motions that much, but I do believe they did )enough…as I think the law on these issues of Frye are clear.) JMO

For a better understanding of Ms. Simms arguments & the flaws read Vals piece-Experimentation versus Observation

  21. annals says:

    Hello, all.
I really wish I hadn’t missed Dorothy Clay Simms speaking in court yesterday; and I have been unable to find any video of it. (Some of you may remember, I’ve been wondering where she’s been since the announcement of her inclusion in the defense team last Oct.) It seems she was instrumental in saving Jose Baez as to the contempt of court motion. Without her expert witness reports, I just don’t see how Judge Perry could have smoothed over yet another ignored court order. Now the Judge can make his determination as to what needs Frye hearings without a distracting attorney (victim syndrome) sideshow.

I’m glad Clay Sims finally weighed in on this case. I think her expertise in defending against scientific expert witnesses will insure balance in some of the forensic areas of this case. It would have the appearance unfairness were the prosecution to win in these areas simply due to Jeff Ashton’s strength in sceintific testimony, verses the defense team’s weakness.

An interesting sideline for me was Yuri Melich’s testimony about lying to Casey in his first interview of her. In the early hours of July 16, Yuri Melich commented to Casey that her statement [written earlier that night] was suspect. In court, he characterized this as a tactical [legally permissable] lie, in order to induce further statements from her. He explained that in the early hours of July 16 [before uncovering her lies about basic facts later that day] he had no reason to view her as anything other than the mother of a missing toddler who has every motive to present factual statements. (paraphrased)

The instant and unself-conscious manner in which Melich answered the questions about lying during his interview with Casey was in such stark contrast to the angry, defensive and accusing way that Cindy & George testify. (I often find myself musing; why so angry? It’s just a question. If the question is in the form of an assertion, here’s your oportunity to testify your disagreement.)

Yuri Mewlich’s manner of presentation in court is a great asset for the prosecution.

I need to get writing on this, lol- I know. A very important Periodic Table of Elements and Atoms “matter” very much this weekend for Blink Jr, however.

It is no secret I am a UGE fan of Yur both personally and professionally, specifically, there are 2 areas outside of what he has done on the stand I was incredibly impressed with, in this case.

    1. The interview of Casey at Universal. The amount of patience he and Sgt. Allen showed Casey Anthony after she spent the last 24 hours basically running all of them on a hamster wheel while the panic grew that this baby was dad among the LEO who were starting to realize that was more than a possibility.

    2. The interview with Cindy where he is holding her hand trying to get through to her when it is clear the woman is batshit. I mean, honestly, how he held it together and did not throttle her is nothing short of a testament to the fact that he did his job flawlessly under the circumstances and never once did he lose sight of his goal- finding Caylee Anthony.

    B

  22. annals says:

To now attack the work of LE is no doubt par for the course for any defense team but Yuri and Sgt. Allen answered and behaved impeccably. LDB was professional, organised, focused and did a brilliant job without any sign of spitefulness as witnessed whenever Baez went on the attack. I certainly felt that Baez was more concerned as to how he was being perceived by the prosecution, it was downright childish. I feel Lee may be the only one to tell the truth, George will probably be carted off to A&E before too much longer and Cindy’s mouth will eventually be Casey’s downfall. When I listened to the interrogation of Yuri Melich, I kept thinking, what would a jury make of this; here is a guy desperate to find a 3yr old reported missing for 31 days, a mum who not only won’t assist but is sending everyone off on a wild goose chase with lie after lie. How can anyone put any other interpretation on events other than foul play? I believe from the moment Cindy and George picked up the car, the smell and the vehicle’s contents told it’s own hideous story and they made the decision there and then to save Casey. Pants washed, wrong hairbrush given for dna testing etc. etc. Lee might not offer information but I believe he may answer honestly if the right questions are asked. I loathe Casey with a vengence but I cannot imagine the horror her family have gone through this past 3 years. No matter she was a difficult child, a devious teenager, a lying sex mad young woman, she was their daughter and sister and in their wildest dreams they could never have imagined being part of this nightmare. It’s so sad. Please God they decide justice for Caylee has to be paramount now. JMO

Annals- good to see you- i am glad you are back-

Blink good luck with the hopscotch…LOL I hope little Blink masters it soon.

Chelsea- you know, I am still not sure if this isn’t all just an act in the circus and the Anthony’s are merely playing their parts as The defense dictates…Is JB all for George making an Azz of himself and seeming overemotional-unstable to try to show that he may be capable of harming Caylee or helping Casey hide Caylee’s remains? he is the one that loves to clean cars….

And Lee was his testimony to show that even Casey can’t trust him because he is untrustworthy…thereby possibly showing that he did mo0lest her or harm Caylee…
And Cindy is she playing the part of the bereaved clueless mother/grandmother who somehow didn’t realize what was going on throughout?

IDK- but what ever the case, the EVIDENCE will tell the story the one that Casey and team- whomever is on “Casey’s side” trys so hard to hide. JMO

Have you guys read Huntingtons depos yet? It seems that for the most part he agrees with Dr. Haskell. Very interseting depo.

IMO the State is well on their way to proving their case.

You know, I have not had the time to review the hearings, or the depos I would like, but the little that I have, only supports my initial thoughts on this case.

    No surprises, no escape hatch.

Casey Anthony is going to spend the rest of her natural life in prison with a Scarlet A for arrogance, and Anthony.

    hello ragdoll
its getting juicier as each day passes! the hearings were a hoot!! loved when judge called baez on the carpet for thrying to get his x law partner Gabriel adams to devulge confidentiality. Judge p made him look like the fool he is.

    oh and the best part!!!
lol I am acting like the church lady on saturday night live!!

    Im helen and i’m tellin!

casey grabbed bozo’s thigh put her pen down and did it on national t.v ! all the news outlet are saying they were like smiling at eachother. I heard that he and his wife are seperated. Oh by the way I have her pic she is sexy and drop dead gorgeous!!!

casey has a way with men! when she goes to prison I have no doubt she will mess with the guards male or female !!

  26. Debbi Merritt says:

I would like to know why Baez, Casey, Mason are not paying attention
to the prosecution questioning a witness on the stand?

Baez and Casey have the sex chemistry going on back and forth! She slapped him on his leg at one point in the hearing, in front of Judge Perry!

Casey has a legal tablet and is writing and writing pretending she
is part of the legal team! She smiles, laughs, smirks. Baez is always laughing and smirking. Mason too he laughs.

WHAT IS FUNNY? The hearings are discussing the day Cindy made 3-911
    calls, the first day.
I thought Casey had to behave in Perry’s court? I don’t see that anymore??

  27. Debbi Merritt says:

More than once Baez stops the questioning of someone on the stand and says to Judge Perry..can I have a minute…then he goes back to Mason and Mason whispers in his ear.

Why not let Mason question the witness because Baez clearly does not know what he is doing??

All Baez did was lead the people he was questioning, did not work with law enforcement!

  28. chica says:

Ragdoll you will never guess what happened lol! I spent 7 hrs at the emergency because something fell on my back! I was walking around all hunch backed! than day before yesterday I was coming from the bank and tripped over something and broke my toe! so not only was I hunched back! My buttocks were like so numb!! my phone rang and I am like how dare anyone call dont they know I am in court(well I was) I didnt answer the door either ! put a note on the door do not disturb! gone fishing be back saturday. what a crazy two days of bozo trying to make himself look good ! he made it all about himself! oh and the apology to jeff ashton~ was a dilly!! and I realy loved detective melich he handled himself great!! he didnt let bozo rattle him in fact quite to the contrary. AND george what a fool he and cindy are helping send casey to the death chamber.

I thought lee was all about caylee and the most honest one! although I couldnt stand him in the past.

I loved hearing bill shaeffers take on the hearings and I loved that bozo and mason couldnt get kathi belich off the story.

  29. chica says:

just thinking about casey driving around with little caylee’s decomposing body in the trunk of her car for days! No one does that it’s just not normal or rational!

but to do that to your child or with your child that! my friends is not no where being normal!!!

    Blink,
were you able to attend the hearing? I want to know about Mark Hawkins of course.. Did jose let his name slip out on purpose as this is all new news to me. I am soooo curious as to if he is Caylees daddy of course thought it from day one. KC had a motive to keep a baby from him as to hurt his ex wife to get back at her for Lee? anyway I wanted to know if this information is going to be out soon. I know you don’t think he is the dad but still wondering why he would go to the A’s house and to Jose’s office wired just because they are “friends” ?

Mark Hawkins is not Caylee’s Father.

I tell ya if I drank everytime these lawyers pissed me off I would be a full fledged alcoholic!!! its enough that my blood pressure hits the roof everytime they open their mouth! and than you have casey acting like a legal secretary!! oh and lets not forget!! the lil hispanic assistant from baez’s office I believe her last name is medina!! the first day she toook all of caseys notes!! waddled them up and tossed em in the garbage !! dern If I was a janitor in that courtroom !! I’s be selling them notes on ebay !! sold to the highest bidder!! they dont have an octopuneres mind!! how is it spelled? means the same get my point!!!

OK OFF TO BED BEFORE YOU ALL THINK IM ON CRACK!!

  34. chelsea says:

Chica – I think your’e cracked but please can I publish your postings when this is all over!!! You lighten my day especially after my own day ‘in Court’. I wish I were more able to stand back like Mom3 and realize that the behaviour of the witnesses (the Anthony’s) was all part of the defense strategy but unfortunately I am sucked in by George’s tears and Lee’s apparent honesty. I guess it is because I have never ever taken such an interest in a case before plus in the UK you don’t get to see Hearings, Motions, Jail visits, written evidence etc. so I am a novice and am only able to comment on my gut instinct. Pray God the evidence is rock solid and no matter the performances of the A’s in Court, justice will be done. To rot in prison for the rest of her natural life will suit me fine but I think Casey will still expect to be the centre of attention even there.
Chica you make my day!! Love Melich too.

  36. annals says:

I read Jane Bock’s (botanist) depos. It’s lots of reading and almost no information. As far as I could gather, this is the substance:

She went to the recovery scene on Feb 1, 2009 and indentified many of the plants in the area. She saw the pile of plant debris from processing the scene; from Bock #2 deposition; looking at photos:

Bock: This is where much of the vegetation was heaped up, I assume not by hand shovels, but by some sort of small earth mover or something.
Ashton: Have you reviewed the reports of the processing on the scene?
Bock: I have. And they talked about moving the vegetation out of the way to clear the crime scene so they could look for more stuff.
Ashton: My understanding is that no machines were used for that. It was all done by hand. Is that not your understanding?
Bock: I guess I just assumed it was — that it was not done by hand. Because it was such a major effort. But indeed I stand corrected.
    ————
[Does this seem like a major gaff on Bock's part?]

Bock expressed concern that in Dr Hall’s (botanist for the prosecution) report, he makes the implicit assunption that small-diameter roots are younger than broader-diameter roots. [Her concern is] because this is a species specific trait of plants. Some plants have genetically broader roots than others. Also, growth rates are not uniform in roots, again, depending in part on the species of the plant and on it’s growing conditions.
    ———————–
Assuming Dr Hall identified the species of plants the roots were from, this argument of Bock’s is moot. But, then again she is refering to her concerns about his report of which she had a copy. Could Dr Hall have discussed root-size/age-of-plant without species identification? Guess I need to read his report, too.

She examined the skull at the ME’s office and verified that it has roots attached. She asserts that there is no definitive reasearch which correlates vegetive root growth into human bones as per time elapse.

In the Bock [no number] deposition, in which she was also looking at crime scene photos; this is what I get (paraphrased):

She is unable to definitively identify any of the live plant species from the photos.
She is unable to identify any of the plant species in the leaf litter except for perhaps some pine needles.
According to the leaf litter surrounding the skull & black plastic bag; it could have been in place for as little time as one week or as much time as 6 months.

    Well.

I just wrote a crap load only to have it disappear. I guess that’s God’s way of keeping humble and brief.

Chica, you lil fire cracker! I was wondering why you were quiet these past few days. I had a good laugh reading about your mishaps. God bless your heart.

I concur with almost everything said on here. My only ‘hmmmm’ moment came from Lee. Perhaps he is the only one who cared enough about the truth. It certainly puts his self investigations, code talking with Casey, then disappearing off the radar into perspective. IDK….I’m not quite ready to buy into anyone’s testimony, especial George and Cindy. Am I the only one who saw 2 liars do what they do best? Again, they spun the truth to fit their cause, not Caylee’s. They’re not going to help the defense. No way. No how.

My 2 bits for now. I’ll save y’all from my rant. I primarily walked away from watching those hearings ‘angry’ and ‘encouraged’ at the same time.

    May will be interesting.

Chica, my friend, be good to you sista. No more stunts you don’t get paid for!!

Mom3.0, Chelsea, annals, Word Girl (gums flapping is my family’s catch phrase…we talk ABOVE each other….lol)….and of course Blink, love and hugs. All the posts on here are fantastic and thought provoking and I appreciate y’all sharing!

    Love and light~~

  38. Ragdoll says:

PS….Debbie, you articulated EXACTLY what I was thinking. The defense looks like they’re not taking this seriously. AND BOOM!!!! on Casey trying to look like she’s part of something extraordinary. I bet she’s never worked so hard (snarky snark). She’s a real piece of work. The Romper Room antics of the defense will not help them when this goes to court. Every gesture, smirk, grooming, etc will be noted.

Last…I promise….Baez’s apology to Mr. Ashton was pretentious, contrived and insulting. If actions speak louder than words, we know he does not mean what he expressed. Baez’s ego and narcasistic personality would never allow him to accept responsibility for any wrong doing on his part. He’d make a great con artist though.

  39. Ragdoll says:

Sorry about your flash cards Blink. At least you can celebrate the quality time and memories shared with lil Blinks. <3

Judge Perry warned the peanut gallery about facial and hand gestures etc. Was he directing that at the Anthonys? I read somewhere GA was doing both of these things.

  41. Debbi Merritt says:

I just went to Lillian Glass site. She explained on her site that what we saw were crocidile tears with Casey when mothe was on the stand. She showed how Casey put her finger in the corner of her eye to make the eye tear. Wiping tears that were not there, looking at
tears that were not in her palm.

Casey certainly has alot of time to master her fake crying!

Did you notice how quickly the crying was over and she went back to her writing?

    I agree with Lillian Glass.
What bothers me is Casey has no interest in the testimony. No emotion when people are talking about the day Cindy called 911 three times.
She also had no emotion when testimony was about Caylee’s remains, nothing no emotion!

    She is a psychopath!

Yeah I had a few setbacks lol and not to forget to mention that I had numb buttocks from sitting here watching the hearings! if my neighbors could have peeked in my window they would have thought I was in a coma! glued eyes fixated on the screen!!
I am stocked up for mondays hearings! snacks n all!!

    Ragdoll
some speculation about all the writing casey does!!
she is writing pointing things out to baez I guess she is trying to tell him how to speak and what to speak!! she truly and honestly is trying to be part of the defense! she forgets that she is on trial not one of his secretaries.

    Debbi
be glad casey is acting like the wench that she is because I want the jury to see how narissitic she is and cold dark heart. Let baez remain arrogant! we should be thankful he is her atty!! a good one would get her off possibly!! this one with the help of her parents will seal her fate!!!
I hope she gets her sleep coctail! soon but if she gets LWOP I will be ok with it! as long as she never gets out! never gets to use a cell phone! drive a car!! go night clubbing!! never to ever eat chili again!!! her mom will probably sell all her belongings on ebay!!

I tell ya its gonna get nasty in that courtroom when she is found guilty!!
cindy will surely turn on baez for ineffective counsel and will try to get him disbarred and maybe csey will help her by saying she slept with baez!!!! all them hours in his office. I truly hope they have added security in the courtroom!!!!

    blink

a while back you said that the defense would try to plead!
do you think they will try it?
they have been all over the place forgetting the nanny did it story to lordie all kinds of wild scenarios.

thanks blink for a great job
    your fun to chat with!!

  44. Ragdoll says:

Indeed, Debbi, I agree with Dr. Glass. IIRC, Dr. Glass said Casey’s so called wiping tears is actually a way of irritating them to make them appear red and glassy from crying. In my opinion, I never saw red eyes or tears. Period. Pure manipulation, and I suspect a jury would have closer advantage, determining real from croc tears.

I also believe enough time has elapsed since Caylee’s death, that Casey has completely disconnected from the reality of the situation. The fake tears would prove that she’s unable to ‘feel’ or ‘relate’ to that time in her life. I don’t believe she understands how serious this is. I wouldn’t be surprised if she never even thinks about Caylee. She can’t help how she comes across because it’s a default personal. It’s the only way she knows how to be, which is herself, so to speak. Her behaviour could very well be her doom.

  45. Ragdoll says:

    personal = personality. Sorry folks.

  46. smyers says:

So Mrs. Blink, you do not think she will get the DP.

If for some strange crazy reason she would walk out a free woman, what do you think the very first thought that comes to your mind would be????? Just curious.

I do not, no. That is not to say that I care one way or another as far as she is concerned at this point.

I could never answer that question as I do not believe there is a possibility she will ever be free.

Not the first fat example of narcissism having boundaries, but certainly a most contemporary lesson.

I am not fascinated by this girl, I no longer feel the need to study her, or consider root causes of her evil.

I’m presently watching the hearing and I have one question. How in the world did Mason get a reputation for being a good attorney? I really don’t see where he is any better than Bozo.

  48. smyers says:

It is so very strange to watch Casey in that courtroom write pages and pages of notes on a case that is based on lies. I pray that the prosecution wins the miranda issue. Folks, I do believe that this in Casey’s mine is where she will walk a free woman. What will be her mind set if she heres the words MOTION DENIED. Pretty sad when the only way you have a chance of being free is working as hard as you can to find the wrong in all who were actually trying their best to help you. Linda for president!!!!!!

  49. NoseyRosey says:

Forgive me Blink- this isn’t a personal attack on appearance, but I find it telling that Cindy looks as though she has put back on every pound she lost and then some, she looks tired and sad. George and Lee look sad and look like they have each aged 10 years- and then you have Casey……the only thing different about her is that her hair has grown. This whole situation has taken a toll on her family and it shows! It also shows that it really hasn’t had a lot of affect on her and that speaks volumes to me. Looking forward to your next article!

  50. Debbi Merritt says:

NoseyRosey you are so right about the appearance of Cindy, George, and Lee and then Casey only difference is her hair is longer.

Certainly speaks volumes to me, too!

I can’t stand when Casey walks into the courtroom! She acts like she’s a celebrity walking in, she is happy, smiling, and saying hi!
Reality is she has been charged with 1st degree murder, if convicted she is going to die!

Her trial begins in May, this is March 7th!

I pray that Judge Perry rules in favor of law enforcement! The prosecution has proved that law enforcement was trying to find Caylee!
    JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE!!
