I guess my mom wasn’t pulling an April Fools joke on me. I came here before the news sites because Blink and team are always on top of this story.

I pray for the Ocasio and George families that he sings like a bird..whatever he knows!

You have been kind to share your experience, I thank you for that.

I want to say to a few of Jimmy’s friends and family who are in pain over this, that I thank you for coming forward, and I am very sorry for the way this feels for you.

I want to say to The Ocasio and George families that this is an opportunity.

I can tell you as an absolute fact that this is a verdict Hataway did not expect, and the sting is great.

This is fantastic news. Remember James,”it’s ok, it’s ok.”

Fast and right answers in this court room. Hopefully this is the start of a trend for all those involved in these tragedies. Great reporting Blink, keep us updated.

This is the BEST, Blink!!!!! With an interest in lessening his time in jail, maybe he’ll talk about Tracy and Jennifer.

This is great news Blink! I am praying this is a start of something — information, closure or peace. Maybe someone who has been afraid will step forward and provide answers to a number of good people!

I am very happy with the speed of this trial and, of course the GUILTY verdict. We in this area are rejoicing tonight.

I saw the O’Casio’s at the trial. Hope Mr. Hataway felt their presence every moment of the trial.

  10. A Texas Grandfather says:

Thank GOD they got him. If ever a guy needed to be put away, he is it.
Did the deposition or the testimony of the young woman who was attacked come in?

Maybe now the other two cases can get solved.

    Great job Blink and crew!

What a wonderful headline to read to start the day!
Sighing a great big AMEN! that this creep is off our streets.

May Rachel begin to find peace and move on with her life now that this animal is where he belongs.
Hopefully others will now come forward with evidence to bring peace to Chris and Tracy’s families too.

  14. Judi says:

Thank God!!! This is wonderful news!! The world just got a little safer with one more evil son-of-a-bitch finally behind bars.

Wonder how cocky he is now?

Someone should say to him “It’ll be OK James. It’ll be OK. Just relax.” like he said he said to his victim as he was attacking her.

I pray that he finally realizes that he isn’t beating this, that he is up shit creek without a paddle, he isn’t getting out of this one, and that he finally starts talking about what happened to Tracey and Chris.

  15. Gail Lakland says:

I pray the families will get some answers now. What was the most incriminating testimony that convicted him? Thank Blink for all you do.

I just watched his testimony and am shaking my head over the fact that he actually thought his story would fly.

I saw Rachel Clarke testify on news cast the other night. Gosh, she certainly is lucky to be alive. I also saw a recap of Mr. Hataway taking the stand in his own defense. Man o man, he actually sounded pretty convincing…that’s frightening.

Good, one more step towards justice! I hope he can never hurt another person again! I send prayers to the families of his victims

Still waiting for the article on beautiful Beth. She needs YOU to tell her story.

She does and We Will. Fortunately for other cases and unfortunately for Beth’s, major developments in cases we have worked on for years are popping; we are struggling to keep up with.

We’ll get there GriffyMom, thanks for the patience.

  22. Dr. Pepper says:

I somehow missed the part about him being schedule to go on trial for attempted murder!! Honestly, I would not have known about this guy and Chris and Tracy’s cases if I had not seen it on here.

The news came on just a minute ago after the basketball game. Thank God for DVR because I caught the tail end of the story and decided to rewind and watch. When they said the name Hataway, I immediately wondered if it was the same guy you’ve been reporting on.

Just listened to the 911 call and then watch his testimony. Smooth talker for sure.

It said that the judge will decide his sentence…

Blink, do you think the judge will consider the need for his cooperation while determining his sentence?

Thank goodness his neighbors heard her screams and very likely saved her life. My heart goes out to Rachel and her family.

As well as the families of Chris and Tracy.

    Great work Blink.

  23. Dr. Pepper says:

  24. t.e.o. says:

I will never forget the day I met Rachel Clarke in the Ocoee Police department right after Tracy went missing. She was distraught and shaking. After telling us her story she said to me “I’m afraid for Tracy, I’m really afraid…I think I’m the lucky one who got away”. . I remember thanking her for coming forward and thought back then she was a very brave young woman. She was not the only one that I heard from with horror stories but she was the only one with the strength to follow through and do something for not only herself but for others.

I admire her strength testifying while having him in the same room after her nightmare. I also owe her for the hope she’s given our family without knowing. I hope one of these days we can bring Tracy home and give her a proper place to rest and be able to charge Hataway with her murder and seek the death penalty. However if this does not happen we have comfort that he’s behind bars where he belongs so he can not hurt another human being…thanks to Rachel Clarke…”the lucky one that got away”

I could not agree more. Without her coming forward, Hataway might still be on the street.

You and Liz will always have my support, and I pray for the day that we are able to have answers in Tracy’s case. The support you have shown Rachael Clarke and Rachael George considering the grief you, Liz and Joey are experiencing yourselves is truly remarkable.

  26. Patti says:

Jimmy is my nephew by marriage, my husband’s sister’s son. I am deeply sorry for the families of Chris and Tracy. Losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to a person. Although Jimmy comes from a very rough background, at one point in his life he was a stable person. I feel justice was served for all of Jimmy’s victims in his past. God bless all of you affected by these tragic crimes.

  27. Idahogal says:

    Good.

  28. Boz says:

I wish someone or some group could do something for Ms. Clarke. Some kind of citizen award from AMW or something.

Blink, do you think the state is trying to make a deal with Mr. Creep if he tells about what he knows about other crimes, maybe reduce his sentence?

I do not think the State is trying to give him anything, I think his attorney should be working on his behalf in that regard if he knows anything.

  30. Found it, thank you, given he is classified as “presentenced” and he is not in any jail I can find, he must be chatting with his handlers at MBI.

I fail to see the benefits of making felons CI’s so they can just keep putting each other in jail to then be bailed out. Seems like it is counter-productive.

Great to see you Edward, sorry for the unfortunate set of circumstances.

  32. ex gf says:

Patti- I knew the stable Jimmy you speak of, he DID exist. I just don’t know what happened.

Blink- Thanks for remaining objective enough to see both sides, and thank you for your kind reply to my post from the 1st.

Putting Jimmy behind bars seemed crazy to me at one point. Now that he’s convicted, and I know he did it. I do feel safer that he’s in jail. Before this, there’s little doubt in my mind that if I ran into him, and he needed a ride, I’d probably help him. I’m thankful that never happened.

I don’t want anyone forget about Chris and Tracy. Even though it’s highly likely that Jimmy is involved with Tracy’s disappearance. There still could be other suspects. Ones that Blink and team have uncovered. Please don’t let all the focus go to one man while others potentially involved are free.

Seeing all sides helps us profile the situation better, so thank YOU.

I could not agree more, we are going to be seeing more from this crew.
    B

  33. Edward says:

Thanks Blink you are kind. On that subject, It has not been a bad thing for me.

    On this subject…
One of them will screw up and get drunk or drugged and brag at some point, or there is some witness out there and that person comes forward.. Then Jimmy gets way more time.. I am sure he enjoyed delivering Tracy

Thank You, Jesus, for all You’ve done.
    Thank you, Lord.
Thank you, Jesus, for victories won.
    O thank you Lord.
For Thy love and tender care,
for Thy Word and answered prayer.
Thank you, Jesus for all you’ve done.
    Thank you, Lord.

I got a kick out of watching the video interview of Rachael Clarke.

“What’s your message to him?” WFTV reporter Nancy Alvarez asked Clarke.
    “Have fun,” Clarke replied.

    http://www.wftv.com/news/27822372/detail.html

Checkout the video…two words combined with her facial expressions send a loaded message.

She is one brave young lady to not only fight for her life when attacked by Hataway but to fight again for justice…and she was victorious both times! I pray that she will continue to win as she moves forward with her life. –Rachael George

  41. Edward says:

I do hope they monitor his communications for years to come..
They will give themselves away at some point..

  42. Blink says:

    Agreed Edward.

  43. ThatOneGuy says:

If Jimmy were going to cough anything up, he’d have done it prior to sentencing. Fact is he was involved in one way or another, and will just further convict himself if he talks screwing himself out of the chance at an appeal that he already doesn’t have.

Agreed, if he knew something that did not involve him, he would have used it prior to sentencing.

  44. Judi says:

Soooo glad to hear this POS is behind bars for the rest of his miserable life, which is where he belongs since he is nothing but an animal anyways, and now he’s a caged animal. Woot! Woot!

Now, Mr. Scumbag, where is Tracey and Chris????

  45. Boz says:

    Hurray. Way to go Rachael!

Blink: Would it be possible to send someone into his permanent jail undercover to try to get him to talk? Personally, I think it would work.

Under subpoena it is possible, but he will expect that.
    B

  46. ThatOneGuy says:

He already got burned once by someone that wasn’t undercover, but rather a jailhouse snitch. It won’t happen again. In my personal opinion, the only way Jimmy will talk is if they charge him with something in Chris’ disappearance, and he’s gonna take the fall for it.

  47. t.e.o. says:

Ironically his own arrogance and ego thinking his testimony would help him get off was at the end what got him convicted to life in prison. It is because of the same type of lies and contradictions that we know he’s somehow responsible for my daughter’s death. As I continue to look for our daughter I hope and pray one of these days we can bring her home and give her a proper place to rest.

“The dead cannot cry out for justice; it is a duty of the living to do so for them”

I so pray for Tracy, and for you Liz and Joey. We want her home.

  48. t.e.o. says:

    To Hataway

“Wherever U go, what ever U do I’ll be there 2 remind U, U can run but U can never hide”…”The shadow that is creepin up beside U”.

“I’ll be 2 steps behind you, I’ll be there 2 remind U”. “Take the time 2 think about it, oh walk that line, take a look around, I’ll be 2 steps behind you 2 remind U”.

“You have said before you will never go 2 jail for this, I am here 2 remind U, I am the shadow that is creepin up beside U!”

Tracy’s Memory will for Ever be his Curse!

  49. Word Girl says:

What’s up with the Apoka police?
Aren’t they going to make a statement?!!

sigh. apparently not. Rachael will update me when she knows more, right now she is planning Chris’s memorial.
