Casey Anthony Trial: Feds File Tax Lien Against Casey Anthony For Over $68K

Posted by BOC Staff | Casey Anthony,Caylee Anthony Case,Jose Baez | Thursday 26 May 2011 2:14 pm

In the latest developments in the life of the accused murderer ToT- Mom Casey Anthony, The Federal Government  wants in on the action.   According To TMZ The Internal Revenue Service has filed a Tax Lien against Casey Anthony for failing to pay ,000 in taxes for the year 2008.

It is unclear if she was audited, but she definitely filed a tax return in 2008.  I guess crime really doesn’t pay, at least the government.

If I don’t make sense, call me out on it! In the meantime, I will try much harder to be more concise and to the point. My emotions get the better of me. What’s in my head and what transpires on my posts don’t seem to jive. Good thing I’m not a writer!

In my mind, what I heard, and then resulted her being excused for the day, was .. Gimme one more day Mom, just 24 hours.

She will do anything to get out of facing this in front of people, truly.
    B

Well if that doesn’t sum it up in a nutshell. This is how she diverts responsibility and accountability. Run. Create a scene. Walk out. Cry. Whatever it takes.

Why am I surprised she pulled another Casey? This is text book Casey 101.

    Blink and Ragdoll,

Absolutely agree! Perhpas her nickname should be ‘Houdini’… She is an illusionist and an escape artist and it has worked well for her thus far in her life….She creates ILLUSIONS in order to ESCAPE the truth from being revealed in any given moment.

Based on what I could see in the photos of the recovery site, it appears that the body had been disturbed inside the bags by racoons and squirels. They are both curious animals and will tear into a trash bag looking for something to eat. The hole in the top was plenty large enough for a squirel or a rat to get in the bag. The other holes in the bags were probably the work of racoons.

The wooded area is perfect habitat for racoons who live in a urban area. Every large city has a problem with them.

We haven’t finised with the forensics at the recovery site. I hope that somewhere in the bags and tape they have recovered a finger print or a palm print that can be matched to Casey.

Also wonder if the tied knot of the yellow strings on the black garbage bag can indicate who made that knot, as well as the leaving of an opening as opposed to drawing the bag completely shut.

THIS IS exactly what I was thinking today (Thurs) -could they connect the knots???

I have always thought Casey did not use chloroform but I have changed my mind.

  7. Ragdoll says:

    Bonjour SOTT!

    Agreed my friend :)

    My concern is this….

Casey just learned how she can manipulate a trial. Her verb is avoidance. There are some great comments about Casey wanting the same sympathy and victim status as Caylee and her family. No kidding! When the spotlight isn’t on her, she disconnects. ‘What about me?’ Didn’t Casey ask Cindy that very question when she was fussing over Caylee’s favourite food?

How many times will JP allow this kind of interruption by the inmate in the next few weeks? I am sickened at the privileges extended to Casey. It is beyond comprehension.

I don’t know how this family functioned before Caylee came along. I do know that Casey is now an adult and that is how she needs to be treated. By the grace of God, she will be held accountable!

    —————-

I did! Thought that was hysterically funny and something I actually didn’t know, although not surprised. In many ways, George himself resembles a little child seeking love and acceptance. I have never believed George (like Casey) really knows who he is either. What dysfunction that family has … although there is never an excuse for an innocent child dying as a result of it. None.

  12. WPG says:

If the State has estimated their presentation ending somewhere around the 17th, next week should bring the fingerprint forensics.

Oh . . . that could mean, of course, that the State is not yet finished with the duct tape . . .

  13. WPG says:

    court time: 11:15am
4th piece of duct tape likely used to bind little Caylee’s hand. Sorry.

  14. WPG says:

Murdoch is coming to stand. Should be testifying to location of duct tape and possible little bones.

  15. A Texas Grandfather says:

Blinks comment about the computer forensics made me do some additional searching. If you read the articles on Val Halls site “The Hinkymeter” you will find that Mr. Bradley found that Casey had taken the position of system administrator under the name of “owner” and had a protected area that no one other than herself had the password to get into. This is where Mr. Bradley found all the data.

Val Hall has posted her contacts with the owner of the site where Casey obtained information about chloroform. He states that this was a site that did not have an auto refresh feature. If you wanted to go back and forth, it was done manually by the person viewing the site.

I think Blink is correct in her assesment of the information presented to the jury by Mr. Bradley. I also believe that Mr. Bradley could do a much better job if the correct questions were presented. The prosecution needs to spend some time with Mr. Bradley so that on a recall, they can do a better job.

Dr. Haskell was on the stand this morning testifying about the flys and their larva found on the paper towels found in the garbage bag. On Cross examination, Mr. Baez asked if Dr. Haskell had sent the towels to a lab for DNA. His answer was that he did not. I would think that someone would have done so if they thought it would help in the case. Mr. Baez did not go further.

  16. chelsea says:

WPG & Angela – looks like you may get your wish re: the black garbage bags. Many were placed into evidence in this morning’s Court proceedings. Supervisor of forensics was on the stand and pics of the inside of the Anthony garage were shown depicting items on shelves etc. Black trash bags with yellow ties featured. Baez cross examined mentioning the duct tape and how they (investigators) never found any sign of the distinctive duct tape found on the skull. However, on the blog I was also following whilst watching the video of events mentioned that the Reward Posters put up around the Anthony home during the period prior to the remains being found, were attached with that particular tape – by George. I guess the defense will try pointing the finger at George again. A further section of tape was found at the remains site but some feet away from the main skeleton. It looks as if the conjecture is that Caylee was bound with tape to prevent her removing the pieces from her airways (Mr Ashton has mentioned that a 3yr old was capable of removing tape to assist breathing. Baez continually alluded to the distance the separate piece of tape was from the roadway and the main site but if Caylee were bound and the soft tissue had decomposed, it is quite feasible that animal or weather conditions could have moved the hand/arm bones with the tape still attached. This case gets more macabre by the day and I hate that it is necessary to talk in such shocking detail but it is obvious that this is the only way Caylee is going to get Justice. Casey is never going to do the right thing. I believe there is a lot more to be said regarding the duct tape. Sorry this is all muddled but I watched in dribs and drabs and it’s getting near my bedtime!

  17. chelsea says:

Duh! Wasn’t thinking. Of course Baez was implying none of the special named tape was found in the Anthony’s garage but I would think by the time George had put up posters offering a reward and also I believe posters looking for Zanny, shouldn’t think there was much left if any.

  18. peg says:

I looked up that brand of duct tape and I have a roll too.. I find it more suspect that there was NO duct tape in the workshop..

    hi, chelsea,
Yes, it was wftv that actually had the footage of the duct-taped missing poster.
Don’t know if you caught it, but after JB ended his cross-exam of Murdoch with the duct tape/gas can he headed back to the defense table.
Just as he reached it, the accused gave him the most maniacal smile as if to say, IMO, “we got him” – - like a high-5 with the eyes.
Too bad the footage from the 2nd camera that is on her isn’t saved (that I can find).

  20. chelsea says:

*********BLINK************* I was trying to find footage of Casey’s reaction when JB headed back to the defense table (see WPG @ 18) when I came across this link: PLEASE USE VIEWER DISCRETION

which actually shows pics that I presumed only those in Court saw. I was really shocked and the impact on the Jury must have been immense. Not sure if you think this should be posted, I am still stunned!

I have access to all images entered into evidence so far, I have to say, a public facebook is not what I would call discressionary usage.

  22. WPG says:

If this was an accidental death as JB poses, how does he explain the real possibility that the motive may have been revealed and left with little Caylee and then recovered with her?

If this was an accident, and George placed a deceased Caylee into the arms of her “amazing” mother, and the amazing mother “cried and cried and cried”, does it make sense for the “grieving mother” to insult and mock her little daughter’s death with a t-shirt that says Big Trouble Comes In Small Packages?
    No way Jose.

If this was an accident and George disposed of little Caylee, does it make sense that George would leave this final wording of horrid insult and mockery with his beloved granddaughter? Was little Caylee Big Trouble for her grandpa?
    No way, Jose.

George, Cindy and Lee in their State depositions, were shown a picture of the Big Trouble t-shirt, asked if they had ever seen it before, and all three answered no. Cindy added she herself would never ever get something like that for Caylee.

Ricardo, who took the photos of Caylee wearing that t-shirt with the accused months back when they were dating and before HE broke it off with HER, was asked on the stand if the accused ever kept or left any clothing, belongings at his place . . . and he said no, never.

IMO, there is only ONE person who had access to all the things from the Anthony home found with Caylee, who would think that Caylee was Big Trouble, then lived on with gleeful freedom for 31 days . . . the accused.

Leaving that “final message” with a deceased little child, tells me the death was not an accident but deliberate, and proves the sick and despicable mind-set of the accused towards her daughter.
Big Trouble Comes In Small Packages spells motive to me.

    All JMO’s.

  25. SusieB says:

Cindy can recall events over a 31 day period but cant remember anything else that she testified to.

Sometimes I have to wonder just who made up that whole 31 day adventure scenario. There is something about Cindy that just is not right.

When Williams the tattoo artist was on the stand today during cross Jose Baez asked him :

“isn’t it common in your line of work for people to get tattoo’s in honor or memory of someone” (pp)

Well on July 2 when Casey got that tattoo Caylee was still just a missing child no one knew she was deceased so why would she get a ‘memory or honor of’ tattoo ?

Also when people get those ‘memory/honor of’ tattoos somewhere in the tattoo they generally have the persons name.

If the tattoo artist was the last witness for the prosecution IMO it was not an strong closing I guess I was anticipating something stronger.

The prosecution also never got in the fight between Cindy & Casey reported by neighbors for 6/15 I was waiting for that too.

Some of the words that were reported to be said by Cindy to Casey during that 6/15 fight mirror the words stated by Lee on the stand as coming from Zenaida during that “Zenaida in the park event” that Casey told him about. Perhaps Zanny was Cindy’s alter ego in Casey’s mind.

    ……..

Also when Casey said in a jailhouse video that “she could never stand knowing that her daughter was alive but was with someone else”.

“Also when Casey said in a jailhouse video that “she could never stand knowing that her daughter was alive but was with someone else”.”

    I agree with you, SusieB.
She wouldn’t even let Cindy cuddle or sleep with Caylee’s teddy bear, as Cindy had been doing so she could feel or be close to her granddaughter that Casey had kept her from for 2 1/2 weeks at that point.
Cindy testified it was July 3 that she discovered Teddy to be missing.

It would be interesting to know if the amount in taxes due meets or exceeds the amount Casey stole in her lifetime? Guess we will never know, but Karma really comes back to bite, doesn’t it? Just saying..
