Susan Powell Disappearance: Sources Say Arrest Imminent, Father In Law Is A Perv

Posted by BOC Staff | Josh Powell,Michael Powell,Steven Powell,Susan Powell | Thursday 25 August 2011 11:15 pm

Puyallup, WA- This afternoon, search warrants were served on the home in Puyallup  Josh Powell and his two young sons with Susan Cox Powell share  with his  Dad, Steven Powell.

Josh alleges Susan disappeared on December 9, 2009 when he took the couples children on an impromptu camping trip, 2 hours away, in a blizzard, with a generator, while forgetting to call his employer when he did not show up two days later.

He admitted that Susan stayed behind to clean a red stain on the carpet, which police witnessed two fans drying, three days later.

This is all the factual data I can write prior to breaking into the editorial portion of our program.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

This woman’s father in law, Steven Powell, is describing her sexuality?

courtesy abc news

He is stating they were very sexual with one another?  With all due respect,  if this dear woman was not already deceased,  she is dying all over again at such a sadistic and  malicious comment.

A friend of Susan’s tells the real story here.

He went on to say he was falling in love with her.

Air sickness bags located in the seat pocket in front of you.   If you don’t use yours, save it.

In this case, you will need it before it is over.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a witness to Josh Powell’s whereabouts the early morning hours of December 9, 2009,  has confirmed to www.blinkoncrime.com, that an arrest is imminent in this case.

Our source cannot confirm however, that an arrest is forthcoming in Susan’s actual disappearance.

I have a question about the impact of this revisionist groundwork laying of (mostly) father and son.
Does this indicate a disorganized offender getting organized?

Or is it like the C-Word says (with apologies to the word, ‘word’): “it makes sense in a “backwards sort of way”?

When Josh rented the vehicle and put a couple hundred miles on it, I imagined (and maybe Blink alluded) that he was trying to run a red herring on LE. Doesn’t that sound like an organized offender?

Yet, the big stain on the carpet in the family home suggests a disorganized offender who may have committed a crime of passion.
That is, it seems that after he had thought about it, planned it, he boggled the execution of the murder itself.

Clarification on our terms would help. Who wants to start the ball rolling?

  2. A Texas Grandfather says:

It is looking more and more like the poor girl was killed in the house and bled-out on the carpet. Husband takes the boys camping while father-in-law cleans up the mess all except for the wet carpet found by LE.

  3. Susan 3 says:

Why would Steve Powell claim a sexual relationship with his daughter-in-law? Edward’s comment about a TEAM effort may offer one answer.
Remember when the case against Casey Anthony seemed so strong, but then George was offered up as a possible killer, or at least co-conspirator, to create reasonable doubt?
What if Steve and Josh followed the trial and thought, “Good idea!” – Josh is Casey, Steve is George, Steve’s bed is George’s swimming pool, common sense is replaced by the possibility of reasonable doubt, and Josh walks free.

Susan, I think you are new to BOC, thus I assigned you the Susan 3, as their at least 2 Susans here, just fyi.

To your point, I DO believe evidence info has been leaked to creepy1 and creepy elder, and this is behavior consistent with those trying to control events. I am encouraged by it.

  4. BeTheChange says:

Texas Grandfather, that is exactly what i was thinking….Something happened a confrontation of the sorts…she was totally taken by surprise “ambushed”
Josh left with the kids while dad stayed and cleaned up the mess.

The question I wanted to address and could not bring my self to ask it ..(I WILL go ahead and ask) It is morbid and I can’t fanthom those children being in the midst of their demised mother…BUT…
COULD it be possible Josh and Steve done away with her and Josh went with an extra bag and just so happen to leave that extra bag in the woods once he decided to return? How would the kids know what was taken and what was left? Do children really pay that much attention if daddy had to take a HUGE BAG to PUT EXTRA BLANKETS IN?? If you catch my drift…Oh my gosh I can’t stand how that sounds…Please forgive me for dropping an innuido as to a person being a bag or something just thrown out…how aweful. I am praying for peace for those children. I sure hope they don’t read the internet or get wind of the things said about their mommy……so sad.

They left after midnight allegedly, it is likely the kids were put in the van right from their beds.

I always thought that if a person bled, especially heavily, on carpet, you couldn’t completely clean it out. It would be in the padding and under the carpet. I have heard of a lot of cases where a large square of carpet would be cut out, and the hole covered up with a piece of furniture.

It is very difficult to clean up blood, in large amounts, on carpet over a porous surface of any kind without removing it, and even then… We do not know how much blood, if it was blood, we are talking about and there has to be more than that of course to prove someone is likely deceased.

  6. twinkletoes says:

I have heard of fans drying a mysterious stain previously but lately I am hearing the stain was red but nowhere in the news do I see support for a red stain. Does anyone have support for the color of the stain? Do we now know the stain was blood?
I had actually previously thought the stain might be vomit. Josh seems like a poisoner and he cooked the infamous pancake dinner that night.

  7. twinkletoes says:

Okay, I found a link to the color of the stain. According to an ABC newscast, creepy father in law mentions that it was a red stain that Susan tried to clean up and tries to downplay it as a kool aid stain. My gut still tells me there was something wrong with those pancakes.

    I completely agree with you.

  8. lizzy says:

Let’s see. Susan is supposedly sick. Her husband and wee boys go on a middle-of-the-night camping trip. So she decides it’s a good time to clean up an old stain? Or, even more consistent with his story, she felt the need to clean the kool aid stain before running off with another man. Wouldn’t want to abandon her boys and husband to a house with a stained carpet, would she?

(Had to be an old stain, or how would FIL know the color? Because it it wasn’t well-removed, it could certainly be tested for composition, right?)

    AEI-aye-aye . . .

  9. connie says:

I thought the red stain might be wine but supposedly due to their religion they do not partake of alcoholic beverages, so maybe it was blood. I hope the LE did obtain samples of the carpet, padding and floor. Please LE – get the kids away from Perv Sr. and Perv Jr.!
Clearly the the Powell family has some damaged DNA bigtime!

MKAY- thank you kindly for that advice, and you did great. As much as I hate to admit this, because I really hate discussing any kryptonite of any kind, lol-

Offered with empathy and good intentions. All the best to you. Keep up the great work.

Regarding Susan, I live in Kitsap Co. Washington and was afraid this case was fading. I’m so glad I was wrong. I’m pretty sure these two are prideful enough to finally keep talking. Lets hope so.

    Sincerely,

    Has he been arrested yet?

Senior Powell is covering up for his son!!

He probably wasn’t at first…he might of come up with a better story than Josh…seriously, who takes their kids out at midnight, in the middle of a storm/below freezing temperatures to go camping? While their mother is home sick? And then there is a red koolaid stain on the floor? PLEASE. Not only is he a murderer, he’s an IDIOT!!

To make his son look better (as in he didn’t kill her), Senior Powell decides to tell a story that Susan was sexually attracted to him. Another PLEASE.

    Both Powell’s s*ck!!

  12. MJ says:

The idea of poison is not far fetched considering the quote below from Susan’s friend who was at their house Sunday afternoon. Susan invited her over for dinner after church. They ate, went to work on some tangled yarn…..but she gets so tired she needs to lie down???

    http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=9029772
She says Josh often came out to the living room to talk to both of them.

Around 5 p.m., the last thing Susan said to Owings before Owings went home was, “She said, did I mind if she went and lied down? I said I didn’t have a problem with it. I’d keep working on the yarn.”

  13. BetheChange says:

OMG, They did allegedly leave at midnight. I just remember reading that. Thank you for reminding me. ;o) I’m Reading too many cases and then not relizing what goes with what, I need to stay focused on details more. Sorry.

So, of course the children wouldn’t know what all went camping in their vehicle with them (Or WHO unwilling incapacitated)..

How often did Josh cook dinner, was that something normal for him to do?….Alot of working household interchange duties, but it is usally something repetitive that they migrate to doing and stick with that task…..not out of the blue one day…did he make it a point to cook that night.. (because Susan wasn’t Feeling well)..(notice the excuse to convey a reason he cooked as her not feeling well)..(was she really not feeling well Josh or is this your excuse as to why you cooked)……When only the household would have known his pattern of Tasks….Did he poison this dinner? … and to think those kids could have eatten by mistake makes my mind do flips in my head…..these kids may in fact be living in a Devil’s Den…

What do they call that when Criminals trip them ownselves…Blink I thought you had mentioned this a few times– It’s like the conscience eats it’s way out from within showing the layers of discontent and untruth in ones soul)Hence the saying “ate up with guilt!” Only seasoned Killers can deal with that..(or can they)… they become less empathetic and can mask over the natural occurances of our bodies response. Making them more prolific and less likely to slipping up and making these minor league mistakes…
Josh and Steven ur on the Radar. It’s not a spotlight!

When you have time, dear Blinkers and Blink, can you speak to the concept of organized and disorganized offenders?

Josh seems to exhibit aspects of both.

  23. lizzy says:

Word Girl, me myself and I think that Josh acts like a disorganized offender with “issues,” with strings pulled by an organized puppeteer.

  24. bethechange says:

Blink, i submitted a comment and it has never showed up, is it still in moderation..or was it too subjective? I apologize in advance if it was…. I am trying my best to stay objective as possible and be fair and not judge, but it is just so hard when children are involved..I admire what you do…You must wear some heavy armour. nerves and patience of steel. Keep doing what you do, i am waiting and reading constantly…i wish something would happen in this case and a others here….I agree, these victims and their families need some closure. Bless you all.

  25. Ragdoll says:

Anyone know if luminol was used on the stain and were samples taken for DNA? I’m not finding anything on my search.

  27. Lovely says:

Hi! I have a random question, and sorry if it has already been discussed – but isnt one of the children 4 years old? Thats definitely old enough to answer questions. I know children are not dependable in situations like these, but has anyone just asked the older one what happened that night?
    Lots of love –
    xx

  28. Blink says:

    @Ragdoll
    Am covering tomorrow but yes.

  29. Blink says:

I am told the arrest has to do with the journals but that is all I got for now.

Not ripe on the cold case yet for public consumption.

  30. There is no doubt Susan Powell was a homicide victim.Murdered by her husband Josh. And his fathers outlandish claims only verify her demise.Steven Powells slanderous insinuations prove it beyond doubt,If she wes a runnaway wife an Mother his odious tall tails would have her shouting from the rooftops refuteing his lies/fantasys.As it is her silence speaks volumes.

  31. Al says:

@ep, good points. I suspect LE would like for this guy to keep on talking. He’s a loose cannon and sooner or later he will blow his foot off. Maybe that’s why the Cox family are holding onto their tempers.

  33. Word Girl says:

    Lovely,
The Powell boys, Braden and Charlie, were ages 2 and 4 when Susan disappeared in December of 2009.
I suspect they were asked and probably only knew they had been riding in the van. We don’t have any information on this, as far as I know.

  34. Word Girl says:

lizzy, you made me dizzy with dis and organized and puppets, but I catch the drift–funny, if not so sad.

  35. Ragdoll says:

Thanks B. Looking forward to what you’re working on as always.

EP, I concur with Al. I doubt a ‘live’ Susan would sit back, let her boys be subjected to these monsters AND lie about her state of mind when she ‘left’. The more they talk, the more they corner themselves.

  36. KB in OR says:

Give them enough rope….Keep talking. Your stories are going to be the key to your downfall.

  37. Lovely says:

@Word Girl – thanks!! :-) True, they probably dont remember anything but being in the car.

I do feel horrible for these two boys because they have definitely subconsciously picked up trauma, and its going to effect their reactions for the rest of their lives. This is so so sad, but I pray they have strength to seek deep down and allow their greif to pass, when they eventually come to terms with it so many years from now.

I also think Susan just looks like the sweetest girl, and Josh even looks like the sweetest guy, and I really think we have a Casey Anthony issue here, where the family is seriously f*cked up and the son is just psychologically depend on his father.

As for the father, I am shocked that someone who is such a creep could be so blatant about it. Like, this is a seriously dysfunctional family.

  38. Bethechange says:

I dunno where my comment went, computer glitch I suppose…it’s not important.
Anyways, I have wondered a million times over the last few days, of all colors why did the stain just happen to be red. There are at least 10 colors of Cool-aide sold on the national market. Could Steven or Josh be making in efforts be making a nonchalant suggestion and excuse to anyone that might accidently see the stain and automatically assume it is blood given the type of case he is involved in….Woudn’t they call this a –> (“Freudian Slip”)
Besides forgetfulness of names there’s another forgetting which is motivated by repression.—> unacceptable thoughts or beliefs are withheld from conscious awareness, and then slip out which reveal what is hidden in the unconscious mind. That is a fruedian slip.

Even coocoo bird are smarter than this Josh and Steven….Just keep coving up evidence that normal innocent people wouldnt need to be covering….instead of looking for the grandbabie’s mother trying to find her at all cost, you plead your case without hesitation and victimize her again and again by your words and your actions…Yeah sure dude this is what someone does that loves a person dearly–didnt you say you were falling in love with her?? So when did your love end for her, and why did your love end….(You wrote songs for her and she was soooo important to you) But now she is not? Why the change of heart and venue?? Gezz who needs enemies with extended family like your own Steven and Josh. Love is not meant to only be of use when it is CONVENIENT….Absence is suppose to make the heart fonder! BUT, You have a hardened cold heart towards someone you supposedly love..??..Susan and her legacy/story is vunerable right now and you are trampling all over it with your suggestions and exposer of her diary and her life. STEVEN AND JOSH, FIND HER AND WE CAN CLEAR THIS ALL UP, YOU MAKE NO EFFORTS THOUGH??..So what is really going on? These babies need their mother or closure as to what happen, YOU know what happen, and everyone knows YOU Do.
Blink and friends–Have a great Labor day everybody. ;o)

  39. Bethechange says:

Does it seem odd to you all or is it just me–

But, Seems they are subjecting their minds/our minds to fixate on the objects of THEIR imagination….I don’t know how to explain it, it just always comes out of my mouth that way, ..but I can try…
Steven and Josh are purposely imagining or dreaming up scenerios in their minds and are thinking well if we just say she ran off then it makes it easier to not have to say anything else because that “takes her away from us” it disconnects/detaches them from having anything else to do with Susan. But what the minor league criminal doesn’t and can’t anticipate is how their natural reaction will be and they can’t contemplate “self control” until after the fact. Steven and Josh it was definitely unorganized in my opinion (might of had motive, method and opportunity)..you never would have done something like this so horridous(or would you) realizing YOU HAVE NONE! (Self Control)It is something unseasoned criminals don’t anticipate until after the fact an incident takes place, then they squirm like worms. LOL (Steven and Josh you both certainly are inserting yourself time and time again into an investigation by acts or lack of) It often seems you don’t even realize what you say abroad(media),your body lauguage says you are really very awkwards talking or relating to this subject- In every aspect you are the minority, everyone else isn’t doing what you’re doing/saying/acting like..so the focus becomes clearer and clearer! You’re the only ones talking derogatory about a family member. WHO does this? TICK TICK TICK…

  40. A Texas Grandfather says:

Most of you seem to think that a four year old would not remember being taken out of the house in the middle of the night in the winter time. There is the possibility that he could remember. Some children are able to remember such events.

A caring person who spent time with the boys may be able to determine if the child could remember.

  41. Wildflower says:

I read this and got chills up my spine-

Also revealed on the CNN show: Powell, an avid fan of crime shows, is alleged to have told a friend at a 2008 Christmas party that the perfect hiding place for a body would be a deep mineshaft.

  42. NaNa says:

Lovely, if I took a 4-year old out at midnight on a freezing, winter night…I doubt the child would remember anything other than he rode in the van when it was cold at night. No doubt he would go back to sleep while riding and not wake up until morning (or unless there was enough noise to wake him). He would not know where they went, or what transpired during the night.

The child may remember the story his father told him about going camping on that cold night. And by now may even think that was his own memory of the night. But I can almost assure you the child knows nothing more than being carried to a van in the cold and taking a drive…then falling asleep.

  43. I love my quilt pattern… thank you…what are we going to do with them… i had a thought the instant i seen it—this is wha ti thought about–we are collective thoughts like a quilt square-all going towards a bigger objective to form a beautiful picture in a not so picture perfect world….Prayers for the families and victims here… .. these quilt pictures brings back fond memories when i use to help my granny cut squares and triangles to make quilts when i was about 6 or 7 or so yrs old.
