Jennifer Kesse Breaking News: Witness Statement Points To Someone At Work- Kesse Family and OPD Press Conference Scheduled

Update-Podcast of Interview with DANA PRETZER

…”Your daughter seems to have vanished.  We do not know how or why, and we really have nothing to go on.”

If you can possibly imagine hearing those words, which is exactly what Drew and Joyce Kesse were told about their missing daughter Jennifer in 2010.   After an exhaustive and fruitless 4 + years searching for the 24 year old enterprising  analyst for Central Florida Investments, the very agency tasked with reviewing the case gave the Kesse’s their latest emotional contusion.

…”I begged for an FBI review of the case, but at the time, I did not know that only meant that they would review the case and provide recommendations.  I had always been told that the FBI was the best investigators out there.  Those words rendered us despondent yet again.”- Drew Kesse

Island  Girl

Jenn Kesse was in love.   At 24, she owned her condo, made an excellent living just 2 years out of college and was contemplating the “big step” with her boyfriend of one year,  Rob Allen.

Rob, an Englishman, lived in South Florida about two hours away from Jennifer. He had his own career successes and a prior marriage that left him gun shy.

Personal Photo

The couple  was at a crossroads, and the impromptu trip to St. Croix spent with friends and members of Rob’s family was an important one for the relationship.

Jenn phoned her family from the island, and was jubilant.

“…Dad, what kind of rum do you drink- I am in the shop and I don’t and I am in the store here and I want to bring you back something ..”

“Why are you calling me on your vacation and you do not need to bring us anything go enjoy yourself..”, Drew told his thoughtful first born.

While she was away, with her permission,  Jennifer’s younger brother Logan Kesse was enjoying a male bonding endeavor at big sisters new condo in Orlando.  Jenn gave Logan a set of keys over Christmas.

Logan’s posse et al traveled from the family home in Bradenton and arrived Friday January 20th.

The weekend was a great time had by all,  the condo was restored to its pre-frat status and the worst kerfuffle was that Travis Bourguignon,  childhood friend of both Jennifer and Logan, absently left his new work- issued cell  behind.

Jenn and Rob returned to his home via Miami due to flight cancellations Sunday evening.

Jenn left Ft. Lauderdale straightaway Monday morning at 6am for the commute to her job in Ocoee.

She arrives by 8 , works a full day and is walking out of the building with her supervisor, John Willman, when she rings her family from her cell.

At 6:15 PM   Jenn  is on her cell with Mom and Dad while leaving the office.  Logan chimes in to ask sis to FedEx Travis’s phone as he needs it for work.  Jenn commits to sending it overnight the following day, she reminds him she had not even been back to the condo to locate it yet.

Enroute to her condo at Mosaic at Millenia Jenn was gushing about her trip as each family member passed the phone.

This conversation will be the last time Jennifer’s family heard her voice.

As often happens during Caribbean rendezvous- things gelled for the couple, and they decided that they wanted to take the next steps and move in together.   The “who and the where” to be decided upon return to their respective “real worlds”.  The conversation about the “real world” began as Jenn spoke to Rob shortly after her family; the couple ended up in the familiar back and forth regarding who would have the easiest move and so forth.

At 9:57PM Jenn speaks to Rob on her landline  for the last time.

When Jenn misses an 11:15 am meeting the following Tuesday morning,  Joyce Kesse gets a call that Jenn did not make  it in,  and as every Mother very close to their daughter does,  she KNEW.

Joyce Kesse knew immediately her child was in some sort of distress and in minutes had mobilized the family convoy to Orlando.  They arrived at approximately 1:30 after calling the manager on the way and learning Jenn’s car was not there.

The Kesse’s would not leave their missing daughter’s home for 8 months as it became the “Find Jennifer Kesse” headquarters.

Upon arrival, Logan Kesse began banging and kicking doors in the Mosaic at Millenia condo complex he had spent last weekend.   With very little occupancy came scant tenants, and even less information.

The Kesse’s discovered Jennifer’s shower appeared to be wet, a damp towel draped over the dryer, and her bed appeared as if she slept on one side with outfits described as “suitable for work”  draped on the other.

Jenn’s duffle from her trip lay unpacked in the foyer. The pepper spray she had to remove from her keys due to flight regulations lay on the dresser she restored herself.

Her blow-dryer was on the vanity, her pj’s lay on the bath mat outside of the shower, the mail she retrieved when she got home from work  stacked neatly on her counter.

3537 Conroy, Unit #2226  once the proud accomplishment of a beautiful and driven young woman, became a crime scene.

Perhaps.

Victimology 101- Low Risk

Jennifer Kesse was very close with her entire family, but she was a true Daddy’s girl.  Mom and Dad mentored her through her car and home purchases, and Drew Kesse managed the punch list of her newly constructed abode.  He made her ask the condo workers in her condo to put the white paint for the crown molding  in a Tupperware for him and he would paint it himself- it was taking so long.   Or, Dad and Mom welcomed the excuse to come and see her.

Jenn was most uncomfortable with the amount of landscapers and workers around the complex on a daily basis and shared those concerns openly.

Photobucket User Photo

What Jennifer was not open about and known only to her family and close friends, was that she was a four year Spanish major and she was beyond fluent.

She knew what sorts of misogynistic jeers were being shared between a sneering worker or two.

Jenn shared a great deal of personal and romantic information with her parents by all accounts and were in frequent daily contact.  When Jenn  told Drew she expressed her feelings of love to Rob Allen, and he did not “say it back”,  she felt hurt.  The trip with him was a definite test.

She felt the weight of the every- other-weekend commute for someone she had been dating almost a year was going to have to move forward or Jenn was considering moving on.

Jenn had also been approached by a vendor turned personal friend who was working with her to launch the companies new debit system- to consider going out on a romantic date with him.

Scott Stryker would have to cool his jets for now.  Jennifer told him while they had a business relationship and she was currently in one , there was no chance of anything more.

In another Dad-Daughter chat,  Jenn told Drew that she was having an issue with a co-worker who was overly fawning and complimentary, asking her out constantly.  Jenn asked her dad his thoughts about the concept of just going out to lunch with a person to tell them that you were not interested in them.   Was that was a kinder option than just saying no, where she stood to risk an interpersonal situation she did not want?  Jenn did not disclose that her office admirer was married with children.   Drew believes that fact may have raised some necessary red flags for him back then.

Drew advised Jennifer not to go on any outing that might be perceived as a  date, but to agree to lunch and have the conversation in a lighter setting, and that was the best she could do.  In a follow up discussion between the two,  Jenn told Drew she had done just that and it went fine.

Commensurate Panic

“She had a fight with her boyfriend, she took off, happens all the time, she will be back in a couple hours.- OPD detective”

The Kesse’s knew better.  Rob Allen and Jenn’s best friend Lauren were at her condo by the afternoon and the people that knew her better than anyone were terrified; Jennifer was in trouble and panic set in.

While it was unknown until discovered 2 days later, a closed circuit camera catches an unknown suspect parking her 2004 black Chevy Malibu in the visitor spot at the Huntingdon On The Green apartments, approximately 1.2 miles away from her condo, at noon.

At approximately 7PM a missing person report was filed for Jennifer Joyce Kesse and a BOLO was dispatched by Orlando Police Department for her car.

On January 24, 2012 Jennifer Kesse will be missing for 6 years.  In that time she has had a dozen detectives working on her case, it has been transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the Kesse’s request, and her case is being reviewed by the 8th review team tomorrow morning followed by a press conference arranged by Orlando Police Department and FDLE.

There have been numerous  searches,  both organized by the Kesse’s efforts as well as law enforcement which have not yielded a shred of evidence associated with Jennifer Kesse.  Last week was the largest search effort to date.

This is largely due to the fact that the 2 detectives originally assigned to the case who retired on the same day 9 months in, never kept a single note.  Not even a water-stained cocktail napkin with a smeared phone number. Nada.

Prevailing Theories For The Weary

Because Jennifer appeared to have slept in her bed and got ready for work, the prevailing theory has always been that she “at least got out the door” the morning of Tuesday January 24 and was abducted prior to getting to her car.

Water droplets in the tub at 1:30 PM notwithstanding,  I have never understood why investigators seemed to be so married to this theory.  In fact, in the few years I have known Drew Kesse  through our respective advocacy work and mutual associations,  it was not until a few months ago we ever discussed Jennifer’s case for that very reason.

I told Drew I would absolutely be willing to have my team’s resources look into Jenn’s case,  but to be honest, I really didn’t believe I could offer any insights as I did not subscribe to the prevailing theory in the case.  I have worked on cases before where that has been the situation and found it futile in progressing leads, which is of course is the goal.

The last thing I want to do is upset the apple cart, and in my mind, this is a personal crime, not a random construction person or landscaper.  The odds of Jennifer being abducted by a stranger in broad daylight at that hour, in full view of a handful of people in visual proximity, carrying her keys and a briefcase at her size, and with her physical strength does not jibe for me.     It also does not even begin to touch the statistics that agree with my position.

I told Drew, “I really think it is likely someone Jennifer knew.  It might be someone she did not know well, or their intentions certainly, but everything I have ever reviewed on the case has not excluded that possibility for me.   Statistically speaking alone,  if this is a homicide case, and preliminarily I do believe that is the most likely scenario- there is a greater than 90% chance she knew her killer.

Jenn is a low risk victim for a random and stranger perpetrated abduction, period.

His response to me was crisp.  “Christina,  I do not care about theories or whose they are, I just do not want to go in the ground without knowing what happened to my daughter- if you have a different thought or approach,  there is nobody closed off to any possibility.  We just want her found,  it will be six years of Hell, and she deserves to come home.”

For the last 3 months the investigative team at www.blinkoncrime.com has analyzed thousands of documents, conducted numerous interviews of sources both willing and unwilling to discuss her case publicly in conjunction with on-location review.

Separating the wheat from the chaff would not come easy.  But wheat we found.

Exclusively on www.blinkoncrime.com,  all new facts in Jennifer’s disappearance are marked with an asterisk.

Random Abduction In Open Stairwell

Despite the fact that there were literally over 100 different workers on site, all of which would have been there by 7am when the bulk of the workday started for landscapers and contractors, neither saw nor heard anything unusual that morning.  In fact, not one person interviewed remembers seeing Jennifer’s car* that morning upon arrival.

The door to Jennifer’s condo was locked with no sign of forced entry or any sort of scuffle in her home.  Dishes in the dishwasher were clean*, and likely ran by Logan when he left, no dishes in the sink.  (Editors Note: If you have not already, run your shower for 15 minutes at the showerhead trajectory of a 5’8” tall person and keep track of the time you can say with certainty you do not find water droplets.  It should be noted of course that the assumption continues to be made that it was Jenn that actually showered.)

To my knowledge the only conclusive fact about when Jennifer Kesse was last in her apartment is that she spoke to Rob Allen on her landline to his cell phone at 9:57PM.

Well, that, and her phone was NOT in it* at 10:40PM when it’s power source was removed after pinging in a location intentionally being withheld by www.blinkoncrime.com.

Jenn’s condo was equipped with a working intrusion alarm*.  She had disarmed it because Logan was visiting for the weekend.  It was not* armed when the family arrived the afternoon she was discovered missing.

According to a source inside the management company servicing Mosaic at the time, they have never been asked to produce any sort of reporting* as to its settings by Orlando Police (OPD).

In a conversation with the condo’s current owner, those records would no longer be available as of the date of this writing.

The ancillary objects pointing to Jennifer sleeping in her condo that night could just as easily reflect that she took a nap, showered and went out, or was roused from her bed by an unexpected visitor known to her.

Jennifer’s glasses* were located in the bathroom, not next to her bed.

Missing from her closet are her favorite taupe snake print pumps*

Found in Jennifer’s hamper was a man’s sweater* that does not belong to any known male associates of hers and is believed to fit no larger than a medium build individual.

Previously thought to be missing but discovered after being returned to the Kesse’s by OPD years later, was her brown pocketbook* she used on her trip.  It had been packed in the duffel bag located on the floor in the foyer.

There were 2 workers that had access to work orders inside Jenn’s condo*.  Both men were interviewed, agreed to take polygraph tests administered by the FBI and were subsequently cleared.*   The identities of those individuals did not produce any criminal records.

To date, Jennifer’s keys, wallet, iPod, LG phone and briefcase are missing.  Travis Bourgignion’s phone has never been recovered and pings from his phone confirm it ran out of power over the weekend.*

2004 Chevrolet Malibu

#2226 parking spaces was located to the rear of the building which allowed those familiar with the complex to access the back entrance, which was not enclosed due to the construction.

Jennifer used the front entrance* that evening when returning from work to pick up her mail on the way in.

There was no sign of any foul play in either the exterior or interior of Jenn’s car.

Found on the floor of the front passenger side of her car were the flip flops she wore home from work that afternoon as well as a pair she wore in St. Croix.* Also found* were aspirin, her broken mail key, a business card, her sunglasses and cell charger (not plugged in and wrapped around the gear shift).

A DVD player for her bedroom given to her by Rob Allen and strapped in with the seatbelt was located in the backseat.

The Malibu was found locked in the lot of The Huntingdon On The Green apartments on January 26th.

It was removed at the request of OPD by a flatbed tow truck prior to CST processing, and prior to any assessment as to whether or not it was in working condition or impaired in some way, causing Jenn to need assistance.

As it was equipped with coded keys*, the suspect who parked it had to have Jennifer’s original key. Attempting to use a spare  would have been rendered it inoperable.

Drew Kesse was never asked to provide a second coded key in his possession at the home in Bradenton so it is unclear how OPD was able to gain access and perform any necessary diagnostics.

Fatal Familiarity?

Distrust all those who love you extremely upon a very slight acquaintance and without any visible reason.  – Lord Chesterfield

It is ironic that the initial LE theory was that Jenn was essentially pitching a fit over a boyfriend, but spent the bulk of early efforts running down the potential illegal alien and day-labor dujour angles.

The usual suspects were easy to clear- Rob’s cell was at his home and then work, where he was, but he agreed to and passed a polygraph test.   Matthew Sullivan, the former boyfriend who was so devastated at the news of Jennifer’s disappearance he drank himself senseless for two weeks and was described as “inconsolable”-cleared.  Vendors- cleared.   Any and all known male associates-cleared.

Astonishingly, it was not until almost 3 and half years after Jennifer Kesse disappeared that the first of Jenn’s co-workers were interviewed.   You read that sentence correctly.

Connections to completely unassociated cases (Grinstead) and abduction by a Dubai sheik theories were apparently the priority.   Apparently the Liam Neeson blockbuster “Taken” was at least partially inspired on the publicly known aspects of Jenn’s case as the Kesse’s received a call from one of the movie’s producers.

Occam and the good men and women of OPD assigned to this case are strangers, I fear.

In their defense, and I guess also by default, playing the hand they were dealt by the early detectives who apparently had developed their own secret decoder implements without sharing, was the wrong kind of flush.

As I began my interviews among colleagues of Jenn’s that would speak to me on the condition of anonymity only, I was repeatedly asked if I spoke to an individual by the name of Johnny Campos*.

In a subsequent follow up interview with Drew Kesse, I asked him if he was familiar with that name.

“Yes, that is the guy I told you about that Jenn said was asking her out constantly and I told her to have lunch with and let him down easy that way instead of a date.”

“I  remember because I asked her to repeat his name.  I thought it odd for an adult businessman to go by the name “Johnny” at the office.   I can’t remember what year, I think it was about 2 years ago, Joyce and I were at one of our sponsored events at the Mall and he introduced himself.”

I said, He introduced himself to you?

“Not to me, I was talking, but I saw him.  He walked up to Joyce and said that he had worked with Jenn and that before she went missing the office had a secret Santa exchange where he got her name.”

“He bought her this ornament type thing, really beautiful, in a red velvet box thingie or stand that sat on her desk.”

I said,  Didn’t OPD secure the things from her cube?

He answered, “I have no idea, he just said she kept it on her desk and he thought we should have it.”

Further interviews and  investigation led me to Campos’s subordinate, who knew both Johnny Campos and Jenn Kesse.

In fact, he was stationed in the cubicle next to Jenn and what I learned next will undoubtedly be the WTF moment in this case.

Because of the open investigation and his status as a possible material witness, I will refer to him as Adam Frank, which is not his real name.  Frank’s statements to me have been independently verified through multiple sources or you would not be reading them here.

Adam had been working for Central Florida Investments for eight years before being fired for asking his bosses to investigate the alleged harassment perpetrated against him by his supervisor, Johnny Campos, since the day Jennifer Kesse disappeared.  He believed it was because he knew specifics about them, and for what he told Orlando Police and subsequently the FBI, which was corroborated by the polygraph he requested to take.

After his superiors had met with OPD weeks earlier, In May 2009 Adam Frank received a subpoena served to him at the office in full view of his peers, to meet with FDLE the following week.

He told them the following (notes from our interview):

He was friends with Johnny.   One time when he said to Jennifer in an email about work, but wrote at the last line she looked nice today,  Johnny asked him why he would say that to her,  was he interested in her?  Adam told him that he was just being nice and asked him how he knew about it in the first place. Campos ignored the question.   On another occasion,  he had walked past Campos and Jenn in the hallway and they were laughing.  He thought it was about him because of the email so he asked them, both replied absolutely no, and shared whatever they were laughing about; alleviating Frank’s angst.

It was short-lived,  on Friday January 20th, upon learning of Jenn’s impromptu trip with her boyfriend, Campos was bending Adam’s ear like a wanna be jealous boyfriend.   Campos told him that Jenn was a jerk for dating that Brit a-hole and other fill in the blank derogatory insults.  Adam was uncomfortable and reminded Campos that Campos was a married man and he did not want anything to do with the conversation or get in the middle of whatever was going on; he needed his job.

Johnny Alberto Campos Facebook Pic

On Monday morning January 23rd, around 8am, Adam overhears Campos confront Jenn upon her return while in his cubicle, unbeknownst to them.

While I have the full statement of what was said between the two,  in the interest of preserving case sensitive information I will provide a summary.

Campos confronted her about where she was and who she was with.  Jenn responded she had a fantastic time, loved it and hated to leave; Campos was audibly and visibly perturbed.  At no time did either become aware that Adam overheard the exchange.

At least not until he met with OPD for the second time in 2009 where they informed Adam that Campos had been interviewed based on his information.   At this time, everything made sense to Adam as to what was going on since the day Jennifer disappeared.

When Campos showed up for work around noon * on Tuesday January 24th appearing overtly nervous and pacing around,  Frank thought he was acting strangely, but it did not escalate to “scary” until a few hours later where it was learned through the grapevine that Jenn Kesse might have been abducted.  Campos is a supervisor and therefore not required to keep a timecard.

The next day, Wednesday January 25th,  if you can believe it, proved to be even stranger.

Johnny Campos asks Adam to drive the pair to the new Westgate office at Lake Eleanor.  Adam thought it bizarre since it was not either man’s responsibility to do such, but agreed.

It is not clear if Campos was without his 2000 blue Ford Taurus that day.  On the way, Campos asked Adam how far his brother lived from there, the one with the vacant apartment next to his and if they could stop there and ask him if he heard anything.

During the drive Campos told Adam wherever she (Jenn) was, “she was likely eaten up by alligators already.

Adam asked him not to say such things- Campos repeated it.

Adam and Campos stopped in at the lake Eleanor office , said hello to a few colleagues and headed back.

Over the next four years, until Adam Frank had the second meeting at HIS request with the FBI in an attempt to further allegations he felt were not being taken seriously by OPD, he claims Campos harassed him on the job relentlessly.  Things were about to get worse.  The FBI advised him if he was having problems at work over the issue, he should go to his superiors.

On January 19  2011, he did.  In three subsequent internal meetings with varying levels of seniority Adam repeated his story about his treatment by his immediate supervisor and concerns for his physical safety if Campos was involved in what happened to Jennifer Kesse.  He finally requested a meeting with John Willman and told him the events he was going through were making him physically ill and asked for his help to review and or expedite his complaint.

Three days later,  Adam received a call from Willman where he told him his issues with Campos and the Kesse case were not good for the company and he would be terminated effective immediately.  At no time was Frank ever told the status or outcome of his complaint against Campos.  Johnny Campos is the only contemporary of Jennifer’s to maintain his position to date.  Attempts to reach Mr. Campos and Mr. Willman for comment were not returned.

Ironically, Adam Frank files a grievance against Johnny Campos 5 years to the day Campos returned to CFI after a short stint in Lake County jail for ripping up a citation the morning of January 16th.

Campos was remanded to Lake County jail on bond, and after his wife posted the required $500  and a brief appearance on the 18th returned to work on the first day Jennifer Kesse was off; likely learning about her departure then.

The only known suspect in the disappearance is the individual that was recorded parking her vehicle.

The Kesse’s have been invited to a review of Jennifer’s case tomorrow morning at 9am, followed by the invitation to local media to ask questions on the status of the case from OPD and the Kesse’s.

Drew Kesse and Christina Stoy,  BOC Editor In Chief will be discussing the case on THE DANA PRETZER SHOW Wednesday January 18th at 9PM.

My suspicions are aroused by Willman being both the last of Kesse’s co-workers to see her in public and the person to terminate Mr. Frank. It would be fascinating to learn the details of their last conversation. You allude to Kesse’s cell phone battery being removed in an undisclosed location at 10:40pm, and suggest the possibility that she left the apartment willingly that night, having made herself up and prepared clothes for the following morning. With signs of some preparation and no struggle, does the possibility exist that she made plans with co-workers but didn’t disclose them to her family or boyfriend? That there was some ruse to coax her elsewhere? That her car was driven somewhere else by her that evening and moved later? If any of those possibilities exist, why would the POI park the car at a development the following day where it was sure to be discovered and walk back to Mosaic at Millenia in broad daylight?

I can see why one would posit the question on Willman, but he is 25+ year family friend of the Kesse’s. I asked it early as well.
Yes, it is possible she made plans that she did not disclose. While Jennifer was quite close with her parents and had spoken to them earlier on her way home, she was an adult. I located (iirc) at least 2 outings the days before she went on the trip with Rob none of her friends nor parents were aware of.
There is no evidence the individual who parked her car walked back to her condo and according to witnesses her car was not in the lot by 6:40am.
It is my personal opinion the individual who moved her car was not the person who is responsible for her disappearance and likely knew nothing about it.

    Followup to above:

I did not know that about Willman, but it only further piques my curiosity. If Mr. Frank related Campos’ story to Willman, a 25+ year Kesse family friend, why would his priority be to protect Campos’ position in the company? Regardless of Willman’s concern for his job, if his sympathies lie with the Kesses, wouldn’t he have replied to your attempts to contact him about the case?

Absent the verification of reviewing any files on the case, my knowledge is limited to the articles and your work. With that in mind, I read elsewhere that a bloodhound tracked a scent from the driver’s seat of Kesse’s Malibu parked at Huntingdon On The Green back to Mosaic at Millenia.

The keys to her Malibu were coded, and thus the POI moving the car had to be in possession of them. As a result of the ludicrously absent note taking, we have no idea how OPD got into the car, so is the bloodhound apocryphal? Can the POI’s direction be divined from the footage relative to the car? Was he, in fact, walking in the direction of Mosaic at Millenia? Did the bloodhound trace this path, or is there a possibility that the dog merely picked up Kesse’s scent? If not involved with Kesse’s disappearance, what was the POI’s motive? If they knew nothing about it, why was the car bereft of fingerprints, other than a latent?

For clarification, I am not attempting to force any conclusions about any of the parties involved in this case, and I don’t know if my curiosity is helpful or welcome. Like you, I feel compelled to find out more.

    1. Campos was an employee and the issue was HR related- I am an investigative journalist not LE. Obviously I cannot betray confidences or sources but I will say Mr. Willman was a critical element in both the company and her parents being alerted she was missing in the first place. Willman would fall under the cleared folks, if you are inclined to take my word for it.

    2. There is NO reliable canine tracking information in this case. None. I can tell you NO agency nor smart team tasked with review of this case holds any canine tracking as a consideration for her case file. Besides my obvious concern and advocacy for Jennifer and her family- I actually put off working on her case for years because I felt my early inclinations differed greatly with media accounts. They did. They do.

    3. Presumptively POI had a key to the vehicle. The keys were not located, Jennifer’s vehicle was accessed without them in the parking spot, put on a flatbed and impounded for processing.

    4. No inference can be drawn about POI returning or parking vehicle as to their direction of travel or destination.

    5. To my knowledge, no “escalated” techniques were used to glean prints from Jenn’s car- which is NOT unusual in that climate, or in that climate in a car that just sat closed for multiple days and only had one driver. There was no crime scene in that vehicle, or around it.

Curiosity to progress a case is always welcome.

when the poi was walking back to mosaic on Tuesday at around noon I saw 1300 on video which is 1 pm like I said I think it was planed so maybe no cell phone but what about the calls on the towers around that time

Good thought but one would need a suspect before even attempting that broad of a warrant.

I just watched Disappeared an was intrigued enough to find more info on the net. I hope the show generates new leads. The show said the “coworker” was late to work on Jan 24th and the reason was he got a ticket. Above you say this happened on Jan 16. Is the show wrong?

I would like to comment on the the most compelling piece of evidence, the location of where the car was found and the video. There were reports that the car was not parked in its space at millenia at 6:30am and the video shows the car was dropped of at the Hundington at 1:00pm.(was the timestamp reconciled with actual time). In my mind a very curious question is “why park it at the Hundington?” What was th POI’s thought process as he picked the hundington and the thought behind choosing the parking spot he chose? Why park the car on that side of Americana Blvd? Why did he walk in the direction he did?

One possible reason for choosing Huntingdon could be that someone else asked him to “take the car and drop it off at those condos on Americana blvd” but the person got the condos mixed up. This does not really make sense. He parked it in a guest spot near the entrance by the pool. Another reason that has been mentioned is that he moved the car to throw the investigators of his trail. I don’t think this is logical because the car had not been at the millenia all morning. If the POIs objective was to hide the car and he was driving in a direction away from jennifers condo, why not drive it further away? If the poi was driving toward jennifers condo from 10 miles away(hypothetically speaking) why not leave the car in a spot that is that far away? Why drive it back so close to the place it was stolen from? And why not park it in the back of the huntingdon complex?

I think the most plausible reason the car was parked at Huntington on the Green is that the POI is the abductor and needed the car for transportation to get back to the millenia. He had a reason to go back to the millenia. He also reasoned that he could not pull up to the millenia in Jennifers car and have people see him get out, but he had to get back to millenia for whatever reason. Whatever happened to jennifer happened in a direction to the east of huntingdon. The poi travelled in a direction headed back to the millenia and approached huntingdon travelling south on the street in between roses and the entrance near the pool. (Unless the camera facing th fence got pictures of the car travelling north). The Poi then got out of the car and walked back to the Millenia, which is on the same side of the street.

I think the poi has a man bun.

Yes. The show got it wrong.
Why would the offender have to return to Millenia?
    B

  7. Brian says:

Maybe not return to Millenia, but return to the area. There are several places between HOG and Millenia where the POI could have dropped the vehicle off and been closer. if you look at Bing maps streetview you can walk the path the POI took from where he parked the car(I noticed the tires on the left side of the car were mostly over the white parking line). Along the path he would have taken to Millenia, there are several dumpsters and plenty of dense bushes where something like the keys could have been thrown. The POI may have a connection to the HOG. It looks like a rough area.

Reasons for the POI returning to Millenia could be he lived there, worked there, or had a vehicle there.

Have you seen the picture that popped up on the find Jennifer Kacee facebook page sunday? There have been no comments on it.

I have. I can tell you the individual is not Jennifer, was never abducted or missing but the tipster legitimately thought she might have been.

I am hoping this helps find her. in the POI video, when the suspect pulls up, there is a parked car with its lights on. could that car ow be the second suspect. if you pause the video at 6 secs it looks like 2 people in white get out. any theories. also why did police stop drew kesse’s lie detector test halfway through. did anyone related stand to inherit money with her gone

  9. charles feezell jr says:

justice for Chandra.com has a blowup of the poi suspect with his face. also the poster of that comment shows it is a police officer. the second car behind jennifers followed the suspect according to the website

  10. NightOwl says:

Thank you for very insightful article. Few things don’t make sense.

    1) Why was phone off after 10:40 pm. Did she turn it off or someone else did? I had mobile phone in 2006 and never turned it off.

    2) The construction workers or witnesses didn’t see her car at 6:40 am next morning. The question is where was her car? Did witnesses see her car before 10:40 pm on Jan 23? Where was she around 10 pm on night of Jan 23? Was she in her condo or out?

    3) With all due respect I need to ask this: Was she having a secret love affair with someone else?

    4) Probably she went out with someone she knew to make that person happy or cheer up. Then she was taken by surprise by that individual.

Very sad case. I really feel for Jennifer and her family. Hope things turn out well.

    Welcome.

    1) The phone was “removed from power” is all I can confirm. That means her phone and its battery were no longer “working together” by some means- I cant say who did that or how, except I am positive it did not run out of battery and power down. According to every witness I have ever interviewed (and it is in triple digits) she never turned her phone off.

    2) Nobody knows where her car was between then and its arrival on CCTV. I make the assumption Jenn was with her phone, which I know pinged moving away from her condo. Unfortunately, by agreement I cannot release what towers were involved, but I can say investigators used this information in early accounts where they opined she may have run out-

    3) Cannot be excluded although I am not sure I would use the word affair per se. There is evidence she was being pursued romantically by more than one individual besides Rob.

    4) I do believe that the precipitous events leading up to her disappearance are very telling and I stand by my assertion that one individual, Johnny Campos, knows a great deal more than he has ever offered OPD and I am far from alone in that thinking.

    B

  11. Megan says:

Where was Travis Bourgignon the night Kesse disappeared? The morning of? Was his alibi confirmed? I ask because both phones were removed from power.

  12. charles feezell jr says:

since rob saw jen before she disappeared ask these questions 1. what was she wearing 2. did family contact her cellphone provider and home phone provider to look at all calls received prior to her disappearance. rob allen not a suspect but her boyfriend should know what she wore the night before disappearance

    1. What Jen wore to work that day was on the back of a chair- there is no dispute she made it home from work. 2. Yes, it was turned over to LE

Rob is absolutely and unequivocally not a suspect in Jenn’s disappearance.
    B

  13. Allie says:

Hi, what is your personal contact information? I cannot seem to find it and would like to speak with you…Nothing ominous, just have some questions about this case.

  14. Brandy Lee says:

In the Jennifer Kesse case, which I have read about extensively…..was the mens sweater found in her condo tested for DNA?

    Yes.
    B

  15. Brandy Lee says:

I have no doubt she went missing the night before. She never turned her phones off and they were off at 10:40 after her call to Rob. I think it was someone who knew her habits and waited until she spoke to Rob later in the evening (which they knew she would do). The individuals involved knew that if they acted earlier, there would be too much awareness by her family and friends. Someone waited purposely until after 10- knowing her habits. I also wonder if someone was waiting in her condo… I actually had the thought that since Johnny Campos worked with her, he could have had a key made to her condo while she was in a meeting etc…The more I read, the more I don’t discount him. God bless the Kesses- I can’t stop thinking about this case.

OR.. perhaps a spouse or significant other worked a shift condusive to the individual being away from home without detection?
    B

  16. Brandy Lee says:

Why cant Campos DNA be had? That wouldn’t be tough to do…..Someone could follow him to a restaurant…after drinking from a glass, silverware…home trash….work trash…..if I was her dad, I would hire the best and secretly get that done. It could be compared to the DNA on the sweater. If that didn’t work I would hire someone with a blow torch to his face and make him talk. Sorry….loved ones are sacred. The person in the video is definitely involved or he would not have wiped down the car for prints. Johnny’s wife should have been asked about the sweater…maybe they aren’t together anymore and should would be willing to talk. His ex co-worker “Frank” may have seen him in that sweater at one time. From all my readings Campos had the motive and anger to do it. My question is who did he get involved to do it? and….did he eliminate them after for fear of someone talking? He recently found out she was away. He didn’t have much time to plan this, unless he had been thinking about it for a long time and finally implemented it. I also think whoever it was missed her after not seeing her for a few days….someone she saw on a regular basis. The trip she want on with Rob put them over the edge which caused them to act….a possibility.

I don’t know who ever said Campos DNA was unavailable? Jenn worked with him, and on occasion may have been in his (or her) vehicle- his DNA would fall under innocent explanation.
    B

  17. Brandy Lee says:

One more question….When her phone pinged away from her condo, was it Monday night or Tues. morning? Also, this site has the best readings I have read and I have read tons and tons on this case. It is nice to get a reply from an Official. Thank you!

    Mon eve.

  18. Brandy Lee says:

Please eliminate my comment on my May 15th 8:20pm post…. I didn’t mean that. THANK YOU!

I never saw it, so your clear. I edited this post to remove the part you wanted deleted anyway, lol
    B

  19. Brandy Lee says:

    Thank you B!
Do you think there is any significance as to why they would take her work things…….especially if she was taken the night before.
One other point….Johnny saw her parents at the mall and spoke to Joyce. At the time he gave her an ornament that was on her desk (originally given by Campos). My only comment is that it is not uncommon, in any case, for the person responsible to approach loved ones of the person missing.

No, it is not uncommon and as I recall CFI was encouraging employees and Jenn’s colleagues to participate in searches. The only thing noteworthy of that exchange in particular for me (on its own) was that at the time and until my work on the case, nobody knew Campos name/face attached to that introduction. From a profiling perspective, it can be interpreted differently or it can be explained innocently. He is the same guy that said (to more than one person) that she was probably eaten already by gators the morning it was announced she was missing so there is that…

  20. charles feezell jr says:

at the time Jennifer disappeared her condo complex was under construction. look at photo of her car, driver side door. muds there. could their guilty person have buried her where the construction was being done and cemented it over since it was cemented a few days after she vanished. this is probably connected to westgate since work related items were taken. any new leads

  21. Brandy Lee says:

I can’t stop thinking about this case. A thought occurred to me…..
I believe she went missing Monday night after talking to Rob.
The part I don’t understand is why would her work things be missing?
The only reason I could think of is to give the impression that she left for work in the am or stuff on her Ipad or other items showing some kind of involvement or past involvement with Campos?

One other thought….It would have been a good idea if OPD looked into all her friends, including males, where there cell phones pinged the night she went missing. Did they do that? I’m also trying to figure out how someone would get her out of her condo that late. They wouldn’t have called because that could be traced. They would also have to know when she was done talking with Rob. It is scary to think, but someone could have been in her condo waiting. Any thoughts?

She kept her work bag in her car- as her handbag ended up being packed in her duffle from the trip, I am going to assume she used her workbag that Monday as the combo workbag/wallet/ipod holder. I don’t have a great deal of faith that necessary records were preserved in time considering it was at least 3 years before any work associates were even interviewed, unfortunately. I have no reason to believe a crime was committed inside her condo because there is no evidence one did. There are 2 things to date I have seen no logical explanation for- the fact that Travis B’s cellphone remained missing and was never turned on again after it died at her condo, and the fact that Rob’s DVD player was in her backseat. (no, not the only illogical and unanswered items, but in my view investigatively are potentially relevant)

There would be no reason for any person to hide or remove her workbag yet park her car in plain view unless something about it attached directly to them- or thought it did. I stand firm on this point.
    B
    B

  22. Brandy Lee says:

    Thank you for your input.

    More thoughts……

It is only my opinion, but Construction workers usually don’t wear sweaters (hence, the one found in her hamper).
Also, it looks to me like someone went back to her condo to shower…why else would his sweater be there? Why would they go back? That is risky.
There was DNA done on the sweater…can’t they also tag that dna to a relative, if a relative is in the system?
I have to believe this was well planned out and I am assuming someone wouldn’t just knock on her door for fear of her being on the phone with someone and exposing them. I bet they called from a cell phone that isn’t traceable and asked her to meet somewhere (The disposable kind that you buy with minutes on them- I don’t know if they had them in 2006).
I haven’t ruled out Logan’s friend that left his cell phone. That would be a perfect setup. There is something else very suspicious to me….what was her ex boyfriend doing at the bar across the street from her condo on a Monday, when he lives 30minutes away? He didn’t show up for work the next day and Campos showed 4hrs late too. It is tough to rule anyone out. I listen to all the podcast of Unconcluded and they spoke about Jen being seen at the Roundabout Monday night. Someone claimed they saw her being pulled into a car by the wrist. I have heard two different versions: one is that she was pulled into a car and the other was she was held by the wrist, but went willingly.
I want to ask…what is the Roundabout- I don’t live in FL.
Sorry this is so long, but this case has so many angles to it.
It seems this could be solved. Do you think her body will ever be found? I heard the alligator stories- I wonder if there are many places to leave someone, where there are alligators. I hate to think like that. One last point…The jewelry story seems far fetched. If someone abducted anyone why would they bring them out in public?

We don’t know who owned the sweater to this day.
I do not believe any sighting of Jenn since she disappeared and neither does LE.
A roundabout is a “circle” with all traffic flowing one way.

I absolutely believe Jennifer will be found- it’s all about knowing where to look. This is absolutely a solveable case.

Is there any way to get directly in contact with Christina Stoy or a member of the Blink team that did the expose on the Jennifer Kesse case? BOC did a great job getting people’s attention with the piece in 2012, and now it is time to continue to press forward. If there is anyway another investigative team can speak with you to collaborate and keep Jennifer’s case active, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi there- I can email you at the address you provided, but Jenn’s case is very active- in fact, I have been participating in the development of a National Network series on her case for months.

  25. Napqueen says:

Emailed. I am extrememely limited in what I can discuss in Jenn’s case that I have not already published however, just fyi.

  26. FromNC says:

I’m a bit confused. Jennifer’s phone was pinged going away from the condo – was the battery removed/it turned off after that then? I would think it would had to have been afterwards since it wouldn’t ping otherwise. So was it last pinged at her house or somewhere else which would mean it was with her and one at the house but then she went somewhere and it was removed along the route?

In the piece (s) as to my best information. I would say that I think it a fair characterization that LE tasked with Jenn’s case has disagreed on the ping study over the years. Imo this is because of the fact that a phone cannot be verified to be with its owner necessarily, but my personal belief is as I wrote. No way to verify how it was removed from power.

Was DNA taken from the towel on the dryer?

There was no evidentiary basis to do so, no.

Looking at Travis and the ex (who were brothers). Perhaps Travis and his brother heard from Jennifer’s brother that she was back because he’d just spoken to her on the phone so they went over to get the phone. She went to the door, saw it was them, and went down to her car to get it (presuming she put it in her car earlier so she wouldn’t forget to mail it then next day). That’s when she saw that her ex had also come along and maybe she agreed to get a drink with him, talk to him, etc. Did cell phone records show Travis speaking to his brother that evening?

As discussed previously, Travis not related to the ex in any way, was never any evidence of any of this.

Jennifer’s brother got a call from someone (presumably the parents) and he went straight to her condo. I think I read that Travis was with him. Did the brother get the keys back from Travis earlier (when?) or did Travis still have them and that’s why he went with the brother when they found she was missing? Surely Travis realized right away that he left his phone. Why didn’t he just get up with Jenn’s brother and go in and get it during the day while Jenn was at work? Kids that age don’t like to go an hour without their phones much less a day or more. If they got there that fast, why would they make Jenn mail it to Travis? The brother was at the parents house that night but somewhere else that next morning. Where?

As you posted, none of this occurred. Travis phone was located under a piece of furniture and had been off because it ran out of battery. Nobody was 100% it was at Jenn’s until she returned and found it- its a 4 hour drive one way and nobody was sure it was there until Jenn went to the apartment.

If she had driven straight to work that morning, she would have been going all day without a shower (from the airport, didn’t go home, went to work). I would think a young girl like her would have taken a shower as soon as she got home, not lay down in her bed to sleep and wait to take a shower the next morning. I don’t believe it was Jenn that took a shower, or at least made it look like someone had just taken a shower. Water droplets wouldn’t still be that fresh.

In the piece. She left from Rob’s and showered. I am also satisfied she may have showered at her condo because of where her nightshirt and underwear were found. I have interviewed multiple people that lived at the condos, to include the owner when this piece (s) was written- it is my professional opinion based on the content of those no timeline can be developed from that information with certainty. There are alternate possible explanations according my interviews as basic as a water surge and air pocket build up because some of the units were unoccupied, changes in water pressure and the type of shower head.

Is it possible that someone could have been in the condo and didn’t wake up or come out until he heard the phone calls?

    Not to my knowledge.

Did her phone ping before 9pm anywhere except her condo? Assuming she got home around 6′ish, what did she do before she called her parents and then her boyfriend? Had dinner been eaten? Did she get something to eat before going home? That would be likely since she wouldn’t have any fresh food in the fridge from being gone and having the boys stay in her house. Were her usual restaurants checked?

In the piece. Phone records indicate she was at home and she was on the phone the entire commute from work and her arrival, her conversation with Travis. Jenn had poor cell reception in her bedroom which was why she was on the landline.

I think it has something to do with Travis’ phone. Do we know that he really left it behind? Were his phone records checked? Why didn’t he just get with the brother and go get them? Wouldn’t be a big deal since she didn’t seem to mind knowing he’d been there and was OK with mailing it. Could the brother have just forgotten something about the keys in all the confusion of finding out his sister was missing? How would she have known where the find the phone? Did brother tell her? If he knew, why didn’t he just go over and get it as soon as he was told it was missing?

    Asked and answered.

Welcome FromNC- respectfully submitted, your post makes me think you did not read my work on Jennifer’s case. You have so many facts wrong I don’t even know how to respond. Travis is not the ex bf’s brother, btw, I have no idea where you got something like that.
    B

  27. FromNC says:

Also, how did the boyfriend explain why the CD player was in her car?

He had no idea why it was in the car.
    B

  28. FromNC says:

Sorry – I did read your work but just made a mistake. I thought I had seen that somewhere. However, there were plenty of other questions where it didn’t matter about the ex. What other facts do I have wrong?

Had the boyfriend given her the VCR/CD player? Had it at one time been in her condo?

I went back and answered you within your post.
Yes and yes to the DVD player. My best intel is that the DVD player was in her condo during her trip- so it was somehow removed and put in her car when she returned. It is my personal opinion it was put there by Jennifer.
    B

  29. FromNC says:

    Thanks for your answer.

Unless I really missed something, I know you said the dishes were clean (run by the brother before he left), but was there anything to make you believe she ate at the condo? If she didn’t leave work till 6:15 or so with Willman, when did she eat? I don’t think she would have left at 10pm to get something to eat. Based on you saying it pinged in her car on the commute home and then at her condo till 10pm, it sounds like she didn’t eat although she could have gone through a drive thru on the way I suppose but that would mean wrappers in either the car or the condo (assuming she made it back there). She was on her landline at 9:57pm and then the battery was out or turned off (turned off phones don’t ping) at 10:40pm and only the cops know where it pinged at 10:39pm. What happened in those 43 minutes is obviously the key. I would think with it being so long, the cops would be willing to reveal that location in hopes that someone saw her that night (though they’ve lost that window of opportunity).

At some point, presumably after 9:57pm, she took the VCR/CD player and put it in her car. Why? Someone must have asked to borrow it. But who? Also, I can’t think this is the only reason she went out to her car that late at night. Logical thing to do would be to sit it by the front door and get it on the way out the next morning. Surely she was very tired after the delayed flights, 2 hour drive to Ocoee, work all day, on the phone late at night, etc. Could she have also accidentally left her phone in the car, someone stole the phone and it has nothing to do with her disappearance? Possible.

I had not heard that Travis’ phone was found under furniture. Did she tell them on the phone that she had located Travis’ phone? How did they know it was under furniture? She may not have ever found it and it’s possible it wasn’t even left there. But let’s assume she did find it – she could have put it in the car that night with the CD player.

Odd that she would have work clothes at Rob’s house to put on after coming back from the trip but maybe she kept clothes there.

A few things are still unanswered in my opinion:
Between leaving work at 6:15 and the call to her parents later on, where was she? Do we know for certain that the phone pinged in her condo the whole time?

I thought I have read that Logan arrived at the condo an hour or so before the parents did. Where was he that morning? Where did he come from? Why don’t we know for certain who told him? Common sense would be the parents but they obviously didn’t say they were the ones who told him. I have read he arrived at the condo around the same time the car was being parked down the road.

The parker of the car obviously didn’t have any belongings with him. As there were only latent prints, I’m guessing he used the 30 seconds he was in the car to wipe it down.

Why was the VCR in the car? That, we’ll never know but there is obviously some reason.

She was alive at 10pm and we don’t think she was at the condo at 6:40am. If she was alive the whole time, that would mean she was up very late, got up very early to shower and lay clothes out, only to get kidnapped on the way out of the condo. Was she one of those people who only need 4 hours of sleep? Was that normal for her?

Were the toiletries she took on the trip out of the duffle bag and back on her counter? She would have needed the makeup for the following morning, right?

Were there empty hangers on the bed with the laid out clothes to appear as if she had picked something to wear? Did she always lay out so many different outfits? I don’t know of anyone who does this but maybe she had more clothes than the people I know.

I know you said coworkers weren’t questioned until much later but did anyone ever look at the clothes to see if they knew of an outfit which was missing? A favorite pair of shoes missing? Anything to give the impression that she did get dressed that morning.

The initial investigation ruined the solving of this case. At this point, why don’t the police release anything they have on the case. It may not find the kidnapper/killer but at least it may find Jennifer.

  30. FromNC says:

another thing – sorry for all the comments but I’m just very interested in this case.

The drive from Fort Lauderdale to Ocoee, according to Google, would have taken closer to 3 hours, with no traffic. If she left at 6am, as you said, she would have arrived later than 8am most likely. If she left earlier to arrive at 8am, she would have had to gotten up and gotten ready earlier, meaning a likely 4am wakeup for a 5am departure. They didn’t arrive until late Sunday and had already driven from Miami to FL. Is the office 100% positive she arrived at 8am, and not maybe a little later that would have allowed her time to go by the condo first? Did Rob remember saying she had showered that morning before leaving?

I guess there are just a few things that I’d like 100% definitive answers on and I don’t know if all these years later, it’s even possible if the cops didn’t keep notes and people have forgotten.

Jennifer drove directly to work, did not stop at the condo, as I wrote.
    B

  31. FromNC says:

Right, yes, I know she drove to the condo directly from Rob’s. Or at least we’re pretty sure she did. When did Rob say she left the condo? Was there any way to be sure she arrived at 8am? How long after the fact were they questioned? That’s just a long way to drive to arrive at work at 8am, looking polished, no wrinkly clothes although her work clothes had been in a suitcase for several days, rested, etc. Where were the clothes she wore to work that day, the clothes she supposedly took with her on a trip to the tropics even though she didn’t intend to need them? Few girls take work clothes with them in such a situation, thinking “oh, i’ll take these so in case our flight gets delayed and I have to stay at my boyfriends over night, I’ll have something wear when I go directly to work the next day”. Were those clothes found in the condo? They SHOULD have been based on what we know. I’d guess she would put them in the dirty clothes but were they?

Back of chair. Everything in my piece (s) are verified as to timeline by multiple sources or it would never have appeared here.
    B

  32. FromNC says:

a few more questions (please indulge me as I don’t recall you answering them before):

    1. What was the normal routine for the morning calls? Did she usually call him or did he call her?
    2. If she never turned her phone off, didn’t he think it odd that it went to VM? Back in 2006, was it already the case that if the phone was off, it went to VM faster than if the phone was on, i.e., no rings if it’s off, 4 rings if it’s on?
    3. Did Rob actually leave a message that morning?
    4. I read that Jenn called her dad 3-4 times during the trip. Anyone else find it odd that a young woman who wanted a man to marry her would call her dad from St Croix multiple times?
    5. Did she buy the rum for her dad?
    6. Some reports say she and Rob actually had an argument on the phone that night. Could she have gotten mad and turned the phone off so he couldn’t call her back?
    7. Since the ex was in town, why was he in town and were his cell phone records checked to see if he was pinging in the same locations?
    8. Anyone else find it odd that before the cops were hardly even involved, the family had already started printing out missing flyers and handing them out? I can’t think that would be my first thought in such a panic, to go online, print up something, and start handing them out to drivers. Did they do this at a Kinkos/FedEx place? Who “designed” the handout? What time was the order placed and by whom?
    9. Were the lights in the condo on or off when the manager checked the condo?
    10. Why didn’t the person who called her parents offer to drive over and check the condo himself? He could have least told them if the car was there or not or gone to get the manager himself.
    11. Did she have a landline? I’ve never seen where anyone said they tried calling the landline. Back then, more people had a cell and a landline.
    12. When was the last time her debit card was used and what was it used for? Could establish if she stopped for dinner on the way home.

  33. FromNC says:

One more: JC made the alligators comment. Where is the closest location that someone could be 100% sure that an alligator would eat a body within a few hours (assuming a morning death) or longer (assuming an evening before death)? Are they in every lake around there?

Oh dear Jesus that could about 90% of the state.
    B

  34. FromNC says:

OK, no problem. but 90% of the state is not within a very short driving distance of that area, that was all I was getting at. Surely there are places in that area that do not have alligators. If not, glad I don’t live there! LOL

I wish there were more answers to my questions. I know my questions are lengthy but I just like to get a more fuller picture of what was known, wasn’t checked, etc.

How do you know it has to be in driving distance is my point? We are talking about the potential to be on a boat at the gulf of Mexico, or on a plane in minutes/hours. Personally, while I find the remark revolting, I am trained in Forensic taphonomy and post mortem animal predation “generally” and as it relates to disorganized offenders. From a criminalist perspective, if I take the time to remove and “secret or dispose” of a persons personal belongings because they will identify who they belong to, and that individual is not in possession of them and the contents are likely to point to a potential offender, am I really going to toss my victim into an area I know there are alligators in the hopes they completely eliminate any possibility of detection? That is not at all how alligators “prey” on human remains. The likelihood of that being the chosen method of someone willing to make that statement and the facts of the case are incongruent to me- but admittedly, possible.

I once had a case in the Orange county Florida area where a victim was ultimately located in a lake that the Sheriff alleged had been searched (to include side scan sonar) 11 times previously. It’s an egregious example, but it is one that included a body of water and alligators and remains that went undetected.

  35. FromNC says:

Sorry to have offended you. I honestly don’t see anything that could remotely be taken as revolting. I was just asking questions to learn more. I would imagine that most people may not know how alligators eat. I was just trying to find out if it was even possible for the “she’s been eaten by gators by now” scenario to be possible. AT the time the comment was made, she was just missing and could have been broken down on the highway or holed up in a friends house for some reason. I hope no one assumed she was dead as soon as they found out she was missing. If someone has just murdered someone, unless they are a very skilled serial murderer, I could imagine they aren’t thinking straight and may indeed think “ok, i’ll put her here and let nature take its course”. A lot of murderers have done things that make absolutely no sense and which they wouldn’t have done if they had had the time to think it totally through.

So many questions still remain unanswered, and perhaps their answers are just not known (and will never be known). Quite a few odd things happened over the course of 2 days and there’s no way of knowing if they had anything to do with each other or just happened to be random occurences that just all came together at once. I just feel there is one piece of evidence that could tie everything together. If only……

Again, sorry to have offended you.

You have not offended me in the least- Mr. Campos’s alleged comment did. We agree that an unsophisticated or disorganized offender might panic- my point is, because neither her personal belongings that are missing have ever been found (sans the pepper spray potentially) or any indication of her remains I am doubtful the person responsible for her murder (my belief) left her clandestine “grave” to chance. If she was the subject of a water burial of any kind it is likely that she was contained by some means to avoid detection.

  36. FromNC says:

Yes, it was a very odd/gruesome comment by Campos especially for someone he was attracted to, unless in the hours preceding him being told she was missing, he had a reason to suddenly start hating her.

I believe the killer may have kept the briefcase as a trophy, the way some killers keep personal belongings taken from the scene of a crime. I had not seen that the pepper spray may have been found.

I do think the police need to release whatever info they have. At this point, they will not find the killer unless he confesses and the key goal at this point should be to find remains or at least the whole story. There are very few people who know anything and it’s amazing that no one has come forward: the killer and the driver of the car (assuming they’re different people).

What about Adam Frank? Where is he? Is he hiding? I know that’s not his real name.
    Thanks!!

Mr. Frank is not in hiding. He does remain a material witness in this case.

Dear B: I need to clarify something. I don’t mean to stir up strife, accuse or slander the innocent, or disrespect law enforcement. Praise God for all first responders who risk their lives to serve and protect USA. The Bible teaches “no greater love than those that lay down their life for a friend.” So those who are noble and heroic, God rewards later in Heaven. “I pray for all those fighting evil that they be protected. In Jesus name. Amen.”

It seems very unfair that the omissions in the initial investigation can’t be held to account. That was the point of one of my poorly worded questions. It was a stupid question and unhelpful. I won’t do it again.

Maybe it’s me making mistakes but here’s a confusing thing: her car was found 2 days later but the reference to being there by noon is unclear. Does it mean by noon the day she’s missing or 2 days later?

The thing about a man’s sweater in the hamper: I wondered if she ever shopped at thrift stores because sometimes the clothes get mixed on the rack and without labels, you can’t discern male or female. Especially pull-over sweaters. Or, if you have unusual measurements, a mans garment may fit your body better. Or, one of the guys from the weekend left it there (like the cell) and is too scared to admit it belongs to him. I assume Jennifer or Logan found it (tidying up) and put in hamper. Doesn’t make sense a perp would put it there.

I wish you had clarified whether Jennifer was a person who would pop out at 10:40 to go to store? Was she early to bed type or a person to be sleep deprived during work week.

The size of the build of the guy who parked her car is how I assessed his ethnicity and likelihood he’s not the perp.

I’m terribly sorry for your loss Kesse family. I hope there is comfort in knowing strangers care. Again, I apologize for my mistakes. I am new to posting and naturally direct and fundamentally honest. It is easy to say the wrong things unintentionally.

I noticed in your 9 millionth reply to theNC that you mentioned a pepper spray can not being found (allegedly), I believe is what you said. What is the status of the pepper spray can. I ask because I have heard multiple things. ex. It wasnt taken on the flight and was in the condo, or it may have been found in a field i think through a search (it was stated by the one who found it but not verified to my knowledge) and ive also heard its missing along with the other items.

The piece includes all publicly available information re the pepper spray. Through my investigation, it was discovered one of the two pepper sprays Jennifer had was missing along with some of her other belongings.

  41. Ian says:

And one other point I wanted to get your opinion on was the fact the dogs led LE through a break in the gate while following the POI scent. Was this break in the gate a method of entering the condos without going past the main entrance(Guard gate)? But even then regardless if the poi went past the guard gate just the fact that he was aware of that opening I believe says something To me. At the very least it points to a familiarity that i believe only a worker would have that and kids that go out and play and explore the area on a daily basis.
I dont necessarily keep to the worker theory, as a matter of fact the annoying thing about this case seems to point in a different direction with the scarce clues we hold.

With no intent to disrespect the canine work in this case or canine work in general, I give no weight to what has been reported as the dog handlers “tracking” in Jennifer’s case. I am trained to analyze those records as a component in an investigation but in no way do I consider myself an expert- therefore, I consult experts when considering such reported evidence. I did that in Jenn’s case. There are no credible and usable canine tracks, period. None pointing to a particular offender, Jennifer nor any other usable investigative data, unfortunately.

In the words of my “go to” for all things canine I feel are out of my area of expertise, Monica Cason of CUE- “trained canines and handlers are not magicians although people tend to expect them to be, they can only work in the conditions which they are exposed to.

According to my information directly from the FBI assets assigned to Jenn’s case- every worker at the condo was located and interviewed to include some that were residents outside the US at the time of their interviews. Nothing is 100%, but I do not believe any evidence points to a worker. She knew this person.

    B-

Thank you for all your efforts that you have brought to Jennifer’s case. Based on your work and additional public information related to this case, I believe Campos, Hernandez and possibly Willman are the key to solving Jennifer’s disappearance.. My question: Do we know if the FBI ever interviewed Campos or Hernandez? Also, do you know who the investigators were that interviewed Campos on multiple occasions… and later concluded that he was cleared as a suspect? Please tell me it wasn’t Gause and Emmett! I firmly believe that the FBI, if they are still assigned to Jennifer’s case, should go back and interview the above mentioned individuals.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jennifer and the Kesse family. Peace.

    Hi J4Jenn-
I have written all I can say publicly about who interviewed Campos and the content of those interviews. By agreement with the OPD who holds jurisdiction in her case to date, I don’t discuss the details of my investigation that have not been made public (the goal is and was always was to locate/recover Jennifer while protecting the integrity of the case, not to discredit any law enforcement agencies). What I can say is that according to my sources which include law enforcement from multiple agencies with direct access to her case file, Campos most definitely has not been eliminated as a person of interest in the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse.

The FBI was assisting in this case early on and they reviewed the case at one point. Campos has never been interviewed by the FBI wrt to Jennifer’s case, but it is a fair statement to say that their review findings substantiated a recommendation for further interviews with Campos and did not eliminate his potential for involvement. I should state that I only learned this following my work in this case developed inside information which was turned over to OPD immediately. It is my professional opinion that Campos knows much more than he has disclosed about Jennifer’s disappearance and nothing has been learned since my investigation almost 6 years ago to change my or OPD’s mind.
That position as far as “status” of the investigation was corroborated by the FBI’s review of the case, although they did not even have intel I was able to develop at the time. In short, we ended up at the same place without the benefit of each other’s work until I completed my preliminary findings.

It is rather shocking that it was not until 3 years post Jennifer’s disappearance that work colleagues and relationships were examined at all.

Hi I had read somewhere that Jens DVD player had broken down so Rob had lent his to her the morning she left his house. I have always believed it was a worker at the condo, but you have certainly opened my eyes, thanks for your hard work.

Hi there Jo- that information is incorrect. The DVD player had been at Jennifers for months. Nobody can say as a certainty how it ended up in the back of her car, but I can say that it was not in her vehicle over the previous weekend, and it is believed to have been disconnected from her TV (wires exposed where it used to sit in TV stand) after she returned home from work.

Blink, we saw John Willman yesterday at Jennifer’s press conference/memorial. I SO wanted to go up to him and ask him exactly WHY ‘Adam Frank’ was terminated after confiding to HR that he was being harassed, intimidated and verbally abused at his workplace by JC, his manager, after the announcement of Jenn’s disappearance. I would have except that I know I wouldn’t have gotten an answer. But trust me when I tell you…it was hard not to.

Willman is a friend to the Kesse family. It is my understanding that at the time, NOBODY within CFI knew what “Frank” brought to light because LE had waited so long to include work associates in interviews and as an HR matter, CFI was not on the receiving end of LE interview material in an open case (as appropriate). All I can say is that AF is a material witness who has passed more than one polygraph I am aware of. Many things he told me during our interviews were directly corroborated with sources he was completely unaware of (and is to this day). This information was given to OPD appropriately as it was developed by my investigation leading to my published work on Jennifer’s case.

Hi Tracy- got several of your posts- the second batch was held up because you changed your email sign in- which I understand you did to see if they would post, so no problem, but the system will flag that for me. Rule of thumb- if you can see that your posts are in moderation they are not lost, just awaiting moderation, and in this case, for me to release some. My apologies for being behind. I had a site update which apparently reset some posts I had already updated.

Hi! What great work on this case! My question is if it was ever verified that the coworker that Jenn went to lunch with in a lighter setting was Johnny Campos? (Like receipts etc). Maybe if they went to lunch he thought he had a chance with her and then became enraged after her vacation, esp if she told anyone at work that she and Rob were planning on moving in together. Thanks!!

According to both Jennifer’s parents, Jenn told them they had a conversation in the lunch room at CFI. That said, they were also both unaware that the individual was Campos and of “Adam Frank’s” information/observations.

Thank you so much for your reply! Just wondering if you this this case will get solved? After listening to the OPD press conference I was pretty surprised that they were assigning a solo detective to the case like it would be someone new but is actually someone who has been on the case already for years. Thanks again!!

I heard there was a woman who occupied the condo below Jenn at that time who would not speak to OPD. Is this true? Thanks
