The Jennifer Kesse Case: Six Years of Fears, Tears and Degrees Heat Up The Hunt

Last evening, 6 Years ago at 10:40 PM, Jennifer Kesse’s cell phone battery was removed.

Experts from the newly formed SMART panel concur it was likely removed by the person or persons responsible for her disappearance.

As chronicled in an expose  last week by www.blinkoncrime.com,  current leads are pointing to further investigation of Jennifer’s professional associations and colleagues at Central Florida Investments.

On November 15, 2005, Jennifer’s promotion to Manager of Mortgage Process Engineering  was announced.

Kesse Family Photo

While there is no known indication her responsibilities included corporate real estate acquisition and divestitures, www.blinkoncrime.com’s investigation into her disappearance has uncovered a very notable corporate transaction worthy of a  Made-off* award.

Is this the meeting Jennifer missed that prompted the call by a colleague to her Mother Joyce?

The very morning Jennifer disappeared,  under the direction of CFI’s CEO-  David Siegel- the company sold an undeveloped parcel of commercial land for 4.7million dollars on GrandNational Drive .  The financing agreement was finalized on January 24th and the sales contracts were signed two days later.

Joyce , Don & Associates agreed to pay interest-only installments of 10% on the 4.2million balance monthly until the third year anniversary; at which time a balloon payment for the entire remaining amount was due and payable.  That is like the zeppelin of balloons in commercial real estate without so much as a plat plan or wetland study.

Who agreed to fund the acquisition for JD&A?  Central Florida Investments.

Why CFI would to carry that amount of debt with no “win” on the balance sheet at the start of the decline in home sales leading to lack of funds for time shares, I have no idea.  Why CFI would agree to such a proposal without appropriate due diligence is the next head scratcher.  As the new process improvement specialist- did this come under Jennifer Kesse’s review?

Joy, Don & Associates was the latest brainchild of Osmond Decoteau, and Donna Rachael Daniels.

The short version:  After the dirty duo bought up 2 remaining parcels on International Drive they did not have funds for, Decoteau & Daniels were indicted in 2008 for wire fraud.   Both were accused of bilking investors, landowners and residents of over $20million dollars for properties in Brooklyn, California and Florida.

What started out as the slum-lord version of ponzi worked so well the Trinidad native decided to migrate South and rip off wealthier folks in a warmer climate.  Makes sense if the villagers are crossing the Brooklyn bridge  with torches and  you have been unsuccessful in selling it thus far.

Decoteau is currently in Federal prison awaiting an order for the govt to forcibly medicate him to be competent to stand trial.

Bernie Madoff walks past his cell and mutters “underachieving slacker” under his breathe on his way to Canasta in the rec lounge.

Daniels is free on a $500K bond and is believed to be cooperating with prosecutors.  An unsuccessful hand-written bankruptcy filing was dismissed.  Deconteau set up his family members to buy the property at a loss under the now defunct  Ambeeka  Holding Corp.

In the end CFI got the property back by default.

Members of Decoteau’s extended family also own a timeshare in Westgate’s Sand Lake Resort; the sale of which was processed during Jennifer’s tenure at CFI.

NOT THE VALET

Just about the same time Jenn’s enrapt co-worker Johnny Campos arrives at the CFI offices in Ocoee, the mystery suspect , the only named suspect in her disappearance to date, is parking her car next to the pool at the Huntington On The Green apartments.

He pulls in, quickly reverses and straightens the wheel, waits about 32 seconds and makes his way past 3 separately angled security cameras making no attempt to hide his appearance.

Theories abound about his attire.  Cook, painter, security patrol, bike runner or messenger.

New leads acquired in Jennifer’s case by www.blinkoncrime.com have presented a new possibility.

Is the video a break or a bumper?  We are talking cricket-speak.

While it is not known if she was alone or with a friend,  Jennifer visited the Cricketers Arms 2 month prior to her disappearance.

Could the man parking Jennifer’s car at noon on January 24th, 2006 be wearing a cricket uniform?

Left Image Surveillance Footage

Cricket is a major fave among the younger Euro-set in Orlando as well as the pub named in their honor- The Cricketers Arms.  In 2006 “Cricketers” was located on Industrial Drive and recently re-opened on W. Sand Lake Rd, adjacent to the Sand Lake Resorts owned by Westgate.

* Made-off.  Get it, like made off with cash?  Nobody laughed when I said he was born into it.  Not remotely funny, but the irony is there.  I am referring to irony as in, the bars that keep him in prison, locked up.

I re-watched the “parking” video from the link provided by Blink:

    http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4224727n&tag=mncol;lst;6

Blink, I see now where he is looking back towards where he parked Jennifer’s car.

It’s the 3rd frame where he has passed the wrought-iron gate . . . part of his face and right shoulder area are visible at the left side of the tree trunk. Yep, his face is turned with front of hat visible, hair no longer visible.

I question why the CBS program did not show “the parker” getting out of Jennifer’s car from the same camera that taped the pulling into the spot, reversing, pulling back in and straightening the wheels . . . did LE say no way to that or what?

That portion of the video exists, because (A.) LE knows the person sat in the vehicle for 30+ seconds and (B.) a fast video loop of it is on the front page of:

    http://www.jenniferkesse.com/

    . . . so what gives?
Where are the photo stills (quantity of around 4, imo) of this person AT Jennifer’s car?

Also on the front page is a photo of Jennifer on a boardwalk/pier that looks to be taken on vacation – - wearing the black flip-flops, white tank top, her hair up.

I think if she was security she would have left at least one light on – interior or exterior – if she left at night, right? Good point on the lights.
My condolences to the Cox family as well; I cannot believe anyone would do that to those two young boys. So tragic.

  6. SouthernMom says:

I think on the night of Jan 23rd, Jennifer was confronted at her condo and forcibly removed or lured outside in some way. Since no foul play or struggle was evident, could it be she was chloroformed or injected with something to remove her quietly? If she were meeting someone I feel there would be some record of a cell phone call or text that would have led to this meeting. She would not have met Johnny or other colleague that late based on a peronal conversation in the office without some other confirmation texts/calls or emails supporting that meeting (i.e. “on my way” “are we still on” “are you there yet?”, etc.)IMO!

Regarding the going out to mail the phone, not likely IMO. She said she would do it the next day and probably intended to handle it from the office or during the day/lunch at a convenient shipping depot. I think it’s probably she put the phone in her briefcase upon finding it that evening to make sure she didn’t forget it at home. Seems like the apartment was somewhat staged with the shower/wet towel. Her vehicle wasn’t there when the workers arrived, so not sure if the perp went back in their own vehicle or how they managed to return to stage the condo.

What is likely too long ago to recover but would answer many questions would be the cell phone records of JC the night of the 23rd and pings associated with his phone.

Blink, to your knowledge, has JC’s wife been questioned regarding his whereabouts during this time?

  7. susanm says:

imo, the problem with the theories that she went to mail the phone,is how did perp get so lucky, that she didnt tell her:mom, sister boyfriend, where she was going. for example:the store scenario, what if someone was waiting for her to get back from rite aid? her destination would be immegiately scrutinized. if it had been a stairwell abduction, how did they know she lived alone? even with the simplest occam,it seems there was a premeditated plan.not just luck.

  8. susanm says:

i also thought the poi at the gate ,has his face turned. edward, i cant seem to find the same version of the tape ,i saw a couple of years ago. when i watch the one on 48 hrs, it seems different, maybe its me. i now understand that it is said that the camera has a 3 sec delay? so it is taking a snapshot every three secs?and editors are piecing snapshots together from 3 different cameras ,i am confused on this, but it that could account for the gait to look odd,(like the keystone cops) and scared monkeys said they speeded their version up , but it wouldn’t account for the stride, looks just like, the cricket bowler stride. but there just does seem to be something odd about the footage ,i cant quite put my finger on it,but i also ,imagine or just really want it to be ,that this strangness with the imagery, could be worked with by trick photographary wizards, they could tweak and work with alternate lighting controls to reveal more detail, could le really be withholding some of this footage? it almost looks to me like he turns his head at the gate because he considers using it, and in my imagination ,i can almost see what looks almost like a trail image at the spot where a hand would be to open the gate,it lines up with the pockets on the pants ,but the depth of field is wrong, imo, to be the pockets , i guess its an illusion, but if i had the skills….

  9. Tarheel says:

I’ve been studying the picture of the POI above using a basic software (Picasa)to try to adjust some of the color and focus. I’m sure there are experts that have attempted this so what I have to offer probably isn’t worth mentioning…but, here it is…just in case…

I know it could be nothing more than a wrinkle in the shirt, but it also looked like an X on the lower back that could possibly be one of those belt type things that people wear when they are lifting things? It also appears that the pants are kind of droopy in the crotch? But then on the other hand, I thought the pants looked like they were being worn very high on the waist? Okay, I guess I got nothing really. Just thought I would mention these things just in case….

Just saw the picture. Anybody mention a caddy, as in golf? The guy in front is wearing what appears to be a sweater vest – commonly worn by golfers (i am one)…and golfers wear spikes. Any golf courses in the area? They would have to be more expensive clubs as semi-private or public courses usually don’t have caddies. I’m thinking of my area and the Birmingham Country club which still uses caddies. I’m sure this has already been covered and is probably just a wild stab but simply my two cents.

  26. wpg says:

Blink, I’m confused whether Jennifer found TravisB’s cell.

While surfing around I found an entry by a poster on another site dated February 16, 2006, who said they had just watched a TV interview on WKMG(Local 6) with TravisB . . . and that TravisB said he had spoken with Jennifer on that Monday night (January 23) and she told him he had several missed calls on his cell.

I can’t find an existing link for that February 16, 2006 broadcast.

If this account is true, that would mean his phone had power, otherwise how would Jennifer know about the messages.

I can tell you I was informed Travis’s phone was out of power by the time Jennifer returned to the condo, I can’t verify your link, and other case sensitive information makes me doubt that account, but it is a great research find.

    B

Blink, can you clear up the (okay, my) confusion.

Everyone who had knowledge of that phone has been 100% cleared (including anyone TravisB may have told)?

  27. wpg says:

oops, correction – - “otherwise how would Jennifer know about the MISSED CALLS”, not “messages”.

  28. Jane says:

Re Travis’s phone and Jennifer’s possible mention of missed calls… Could she have recharged it with her own cord and seen the missed calls?

Your question about re-charging the phone of Travis. If Jennifer’s phone charger in the car or condo happened to be one that was usable for both her phone and Travis’s it could have been charged. We don’t know what phones each of them owned.

  30. SouthernMom says:

Thanks, ATG (#29). If Jennifer was actually able to power up Travis’s phone, wouldn’t that have given LE a ping to work with in establishing location/timeline. I’m probably way off and the phone was never powered. Just so sad to see so many friends and loved ones disappear and have zero answers or arrests. I am curious as to how the new eyes on this case are working.

To my knowledge, there is no confirmation that Jennifer ever found Travis’s phone, although she could have. It was not powered on after Jenn’s arrival to the condo either way.

Blink, i’z going to wait for an update ’cause boy, do I got a headache.

The pub and everything that it brings that may relate or link to Jennifer, (besides that she was there AT LEAST on one occasion on October 29 2005), including . . .

    * its locations – - 2 of which were/are close to Lake Ellenor, CFI, Westgate entities
    * the STILL undeveloped grazed site where it once stood in January 2006 at 8445 International Drive
    * ties to soccer/cricket/running
    * it is British, like it’s ex-Pat owner, Phil . . . Mr.JC referred to the British Rob Allen in what sounds like resentful, “not nice” terms
    * other things that escape me at the moment

. . . has been topped off by reading an article dated August 2010, that Rob owns a British Pub in Boca Raton, resulting in a mind-blowing 2-Advil-headache experience with yet another possible link.

Besides the motive of pure jealousy…could JC also have feared Jennifer would tell his wife or file sexual harrassment claims? According to Blink’s article, “Adam Frank” overheard a heated encounter between Jennifer and JC upon her return to work that Monday. Could Jennifer have finally “had enough” of his innuendos and advances to have called him on it, promising to turn him in? Did she also mention she had proof of his advances via saved emails/voicemials?

Prayers for Jennifer’s family…they deserve to know what happened to their daughter and have the opportunity to bury her remains respectfully.

    (article snip)

“Investigators with the Orlando Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement scoured an area west of Orange Blossom Trail between West Oak Ridge Road and Wakulla Way after receiving a tip.

Sources told Local 6 that a tipster claiming to be a family member of the person who may have abducted Kesse said Kesse’s body is possibly buried in the field. Three K-9s alerted on an area, prompting a larger dig using heavy equipment.”

    ____

Wow. Big WOW on the tipster.
Was Jennifer’s car parked close to this search area before it was driven to the Huntington ??

Wondering now if “the parker” went to/left from the Huntington condos down South Rio Grande Avenue, which connects to the Lake Ellenor area . . . Rio Grande eventually becomes Lake Ellenor Drive (6177 Lake Ellenor Drive is the “new in January 2006″ Westgate office).

South Rio Grande Avenue is the street the would enclose the search area on the west side, with Orange Blossom enclosing the area on the east side . . . area of Rio Grande between marked “A” and “B” on this map:

Weatherly Condominiums (1649 S Oak Ridge, stretches along Rio Grande)

    Mapped walking/driving route:

Does “the parker” have ties to that searched area?

Maybe going to the Lake Ellenor office was more about the “route along the way”?

    snips from Blink’s previous article:

. . . “The next day, Wednesday January 25th, if you can believe it, proved to be even stranger.
Johnny Campos asks Adam to drive the pair to the new Westgate office at Lake Eleanor. Adam thought it bizarre since it was not either man’s responsibility to do such, but agreed.
It is not clear if Campos was without his 2000 blue Ford Taurus that day. On the way, Campos asked Adam how far his brother lived from there, the one with the vacant apartment next to his and if they could stop there and ask him if he heard anything.”

. . . “Adam and Campos stopped in at the lake Eleanor office , said hello to a few colleagues and headed back.”

wpg–good eye on the walking route. Thx for the map. 1.8 miles might be a bit long for a walk? Unless well-compensated ($100?) I doubt many people would do that job.

The parker would have to be dropped off at the detailer (or walk/bus there) drive the car to Huntington and then walk to drop off the keys. The stride portrayed in the video seems purposeful and clearly planned.

Do you know if additional investigative warrants have been issued since the SMART January 18 presser?

Do you know if Adam Frank has begun any legal action in regards to his workplace firing?

I know the answer to both those questions and they are good ones. Unfortunately I cannot answer them for investigative reasons.

Working on the update, thanks for bearing with me.

“… The stride portrayed in the video seems purposeful and clearly planned.
I’m still going nutty with the cricket connection, though.”

Word Girl, I agree with you on the purposeful stride (plus he looks back at the car at least twice from what I “think” i see).

If Blink strongly believes the parker had an immigration problem, I’m thinking he didn’t have a valid driver’s license.

Whether he’s a knowing participant in the sinister or not, he must have done a final wipe of the vehicle to remove his fingerprints unless he wore gloves, and/or he just wants to get the heck away from a vehicle he may have illegally driven and wiped his illegal prints from.

Yeah, I’m going nutty over the cricket, too. From what I have seen in a small number of cricket videos and photos around 2006, though, this person could definitely be wearing cricket gear.

Don’t know if there is ANY connection whatsoever, but Blink notes Decoteau is a Trinidad native. The owner of the Cricketers Arms pub lived in Trinidad before relocating to Orlando according to this write-up from the website:

fwiw, a snippet from an article “Florida Cricket – History of Cricket in Central Florida” :

“Elections were held in November 1984 and Thakor Patel was elected President, a position he would hold for two years. New teams came into the league and by the start of the 1986 season membership had grown from four (4) to twelve (12) teams, representing Tampa, St Petersburg, Largo, Plant City, Winter Haven, Orlando, Kissimmee, Palm Bay and Valdosta, Georgia. Additionally, the standard of cricket grew as a result of the growth of the expatriate community in Central Florida and the influx of quality players, the likes of former Guyana & West Indies test player Faoud Bacchus. (also national USA coach).
National players from various countries like Pakistan, India, UAE, and the Caribbean also elevated the level of play, to the degree that a number of these players have gone on to represent the USA National Teams both at the senior and youth levels.”
