Isabel Celis Breaking News: Child Services Removes Sons From Sergio Celis Care and Placed With Mother

In the latest development in the April 21st disappearance of missing Tucson child Isabel Celis,  her father Sergio has been stripped of his physical custodial rights of her brothers.

There has been no confirmation from Tucson Police about the children’s removal and placement, and CPS has only confirmed the boys have been placed with one parent.

Sources inside the investigation have confirmed to www.blinkoncrime.com that evidence gleaned in the investigation has warranted alternative placement of the couples oldest children in the wake of the disappearance of their daughter, Isabel.

The boys, whose names have been reported previously elsewhere but are being intentionally withheld by www.blinkoncrime.com have been placed together, not separately.

Check back to www.blinkoncrime.com for details.

SC charges: “two counts of Dog Running At Large, three counts of No Current License and three counts of No Current Vaccination.”

These must be criminal violations. I see SC did not get cited for barking, animal noise, nuisance…..

My take was, to be clear GitH, the
2 boys need to be protected.
    LE/CPS made that effort.
Imo protection could not have been
implemented as it was without some
    scintilla of physical evidence
but not enough for a Beyond RD arrest.
    just my
    opinion.

    @wpg. knowing pink from

good catch Pueblodweller that it took two neighbor complaints for police to cite dogs in person day before
You’d think someone wanted the dogs picked up or silenced.
Reminds me of the Swift dog contretemps with Neighbor.

    Auto update:
The old red Acura is still parked on side of Celis house as of this afternoon, May 29. Someone I know works near there and drove by today.

Does this mean LE believes there’s no significant evidence in the car (ie: shower curtain, hat) or does it mean they believe they got everything they need out of the car?

  9. pueblodweller says:

    pueblodweller,

SC local charges are for dogs running at large, unlicensed, and no vaccinations.
pueblodweller, do you know whether or not if local citations issued by the pound are not complied with in a given time, the charges are bumped up to criminal for the courts to oversee?
    Thank you.

    _________________________________________________

was really hard to find out about citations via the Pima County Health Dept. or Animal Control. I did, however, find a little online blog/blurb from a guy who moved to Tucson who was shocked when his dog ran away and was returned by animal control and then he was given a CRIMINAL CITATION. (I closed out my window on this story, but will try to find reference on county web site). Apparently, a “dog at large” is a criminal misdemeanor in Pima County and one that requires the pet owner to go to court to pay fine and/or take an “anti-animal abuse” class. Apparently, the other animal citations SC received are criminal charges too.

So, while it seems to odd to be a coincidence that the cops were at his door the day before his kid disappeared for something so relatively benign, that seems to be the case: SC was merely being served a citation for dog violations….and nothing more.

I am wondering if the added criminal charges are due to expired animal licenses? See below.

failure to license dogs within city limits is a Class 2 Misdemeanor. She said that I need to have the dogs licensed (I’ll need proof of rabies vaccination and spay/neutered confirmed by a vet), and that I’ll have to appear at court with the proof of licenses.

Along with the citation is a form that states at the bottom “The time you have been given to correct the deficiencies found in this inspection is a COURTESY. Problems not corrected by the re-check date could result in criminal citations being issued to you. Please have the problems corrected by the designated date.”

I hope I”m not jumping ahead but your information on Nathan McDonald was illuminating. I, too, stopped cold when I read about him carrying a large maglite (as LEOs do) coming from a wash near Freedom Park.

I think I trusted that he would have been picked up if there was something more hinky than his juvenile excuse that he needed to “eat breakfast”.
Also, I read that the first sweep of the house collected all the bed linens into evidence. Did they not notice one bedroom’s linen missing?

Would those match the linens in the wash, from where Nathan was emerging?

I must have missed the part about a man sitting on an electric box at 9:30 in the morning and being asked to leave by Chris (insert here because your article is now gone. ;0

From the end on the Celis side of 12th Street, we have the next door neighbor listed as Glover, then Reece, Dimitrov, McDonald

Is Nathan McDonald an RSO? Did Sergio take a sleeping aid that night?

So many questions. I sure hope Isabella is found.

  27. SouthernMom says:

Just a thought, (daydreaming in hopes this wasn’t family)…I wonder if the perp was stalking the residence and disturbing the dogs enough in the week prior to the abduction, and possibly letting them out or luring them out of the yard to run loose…and THOSE disturbances prompted the calls to authorities which led to the citations? Long shot I know, but could that be possible?

    Prayers for Isa.

I am just guessing here, Pueblodweller, but maybe if it happens more than a certain number of times, it becomes criminal. Like maybe they consider someone who keeps letting the same thing happen to be serial offender and the up the anty by calling it criminal. Just a guess.

Can LE subpoena Dna from McDonald just because they found bed linens in the wash (shallow ravine for water overflow on hardpacked soil) just because he happened to be near where the linens were found and happens to live a few doors down from Isa and he happened to be sitting on a neighbor’s electric box that morning as well?

I don’t think my attorney would allow that, but I don’t know if it can be compelled in this manner.

This happened this morning in the same neighborhood Celis family lives. Body of woman was found on 10th street.

Tonight, on KOLD 10:00 news, a woman was interviewed who said she was getting afraid now. She said her house (closets, rooms. shed, everything) was searched after IC disappeared and now, with this story, she is concerned.

The news reported said police do not know if the cases are related. There is still one suspect (the man) at large and, as of tonight’s newscast, none of the parties names have been released. Maybe tomorrow, more info. and names.

**Just wanted to add that this neighborhood is certainly NOT what Tucsonans would consider an unsafe or scary neighborhood. So, like the woman interviewed by the news said, “the fact that two such terrible crimes have occured in 6 weeks is alarming.”

  33. pueblodweller says:

    Blink-
Just listened to your interview. Your commentary is excellent and very easy to follow. I was glad I listened as well as read your summary. Thanks:-)

Question: I wanted to know why police would not have just shown Celis parents the clothing items they collected for evidence? Wouldn’t it be easy to determine from parents ID of items if they belonged to Isa or not? It seems it would at least give LE something more to go on…..

Excellent article Blink but the comments are off so I will put it here. I’m still hinky about the father and son living near the Celis’. Could the wolverine boot prints on the elec boxes outside the huge wall around the home be those of a second person being a lookout? Maybe the person on the boxes was looking in the window and saw tv light (windows in pics look like they have no blinds/drapes) and a sleeping Sergio then used the box closest to Isa’s window to climb over? Now I wanna know what kind of shoes Mr. McD was wearing on his trek that morning? Alicia, the super close neighbor, knew where Isa’s window was and pointed out on tv footage so it’s highly poss her bf was watching Isa for a while!

they are on, thanks melisb, no idea how that happened- sorry.

Wow, just got done catching up and listening to the podcast from last night- my first one! Anyways, a couple of things….I thought of this yesterday in regards to SC’s rather calm demeanor (spelling?) on the 911 call- I totally agree with what a previous poster stated (Kris?) that if SC was involved, given his acting background, I would think that he would have at least “acted” a little more concerned/distressed etc. Given the fact that he didn’t leads me to believe, he was merely placing the call based on BC’s instructions and that he probably didn’t believe she had actually been abducted yet.

Along with others, I too wonder if the “dog troubles” the days before were not someones attempt to get rid of the dogs in anticipation of the abduction- no dogs= easier access.

I find it interesting that the niece, Chelsea and her fiancee stated that they thought SC was a drug dealer and they felt the abduction was in regards to that-not sure I believe that’s what happened anymore (at one time I suspected it, but now with the interesting facts with the neighbor, not so much). However, could it be thatif they suspect SC is a drug dealer, this is why the boys have been placed with BC?

The facts that have come out about the neighbor, NM, make my stomach turn- I was so hoping that Isa was alive and taken for revenge or a threat-or even that this was some sort of hoax (these would all be cases where in my eyes, Isa could still be alive), however, If NM is involved- I feel like there is little chance. Broke my heart to hear you say on the podcast that there was evidence pointing to her not being with us anymore (paraphrased)- in fact I was almost in shock- I really thought there was a good chance for a happy ending-not so much anymore. But, I continue to hold hope and pray for Isa!

    Thank you for that, pueblodweller.

I’m confused because the female neighbor said the car’s been parked there the entire time she’s been there . . . 8 months.

This most recent google map is dated 2012 showing no hatchback outside anywhere. And that is the neighbor’s red car next door from what I can tell.

    Weird.

wpg, I have no idea why, but when I zoom, the image changes even though it starts at 2012, and I see the hatchback. It could simply mean the car was not there when the satellite pointed at the house.

FWIW, my version of Google EARTH is stating the image we are seeing was recorded in Jan 2008. Google Earth gives the date image was taken, it matches all other google map images exactly thus far, haven’t yet tried Bing, Yahoo, etc. Hope this helps. Prayers for Isa.

  42. SouthernMom says:

Using Bing, birds’ eye view is different image than aerial view. In aerial view, hatchback is there, in birds’ eye, it’s not. Hmm, must be different dates/years imagery was taken for each view, MOO. LOL! I’m acting like I figured out something big…actually just clarifying in hopes of helping out.

Prayers for Isa, it’s been way too long, I’m so sad to know how this will likely end…after all this time. Please God, allow those who hurt Isa and those who helped cover up any wrong doing, to get their “due justice” SOON and begin to pay their debts to society for their heinous crimes for the rest of their lives. :(

  43. wpg says:

    SouthernMom,

Thank you for your effort and info on this google map conundrum.

Yes, the google “street view”, walking tour, is 2008 imagery.
It’s interesting that all 3 vehicles were parked side by side, and all 3 appear to be licensed. If the red car was not being used in 2008, why park it there and not further up to the side of the garage.

The other question is, who would have been driving the vehicle at that time (assuming it was operational back then), with a 2-adult household?

Don’t know if this is of any importance, but I’ve never read in what way the red car had become or is now “inoperable”.
