In custody currently for Sierra’s murder is Antolin Garcia-Torres, 21, of San Martin who was booked at Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder and kidnapping, said sheriff’s Sgt. Jose Cardoza.

The suspect attended Central High School in Morgan Hill and does not have a serious criminal history except for a 2009 arrest for resisting arrest, KTVU-TV reported. He had worked at a Safeway store on Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill where he was arrested at about 6 p.m.

In early May,  Santa Clara County Sheriff detectives released a picture of a red Jetta with a black hood in order to generate tips, but the vehicle had already been impounded.  Sources inside the investigation have confirmed forensic tests indicated Lamar had been in the vehicle.

A news conference is scheduled for this morning.  Please check back to www.blinkoncrime.com for updates.

.. LE knows which direction he went because of cameras located in and around the area such as the freeway, traffic lights and gas stations as well as private residence and they will not share the info. This would narrow down the search area and allow us a better chance at locating Sierra. The suspect refuses to plea and the judge refuses to enter a plea of not guilty on his behalf to get the show on the road.. Meanwhile the family of Sierra suffers. I have no anwers and yes we still pick areas and search them.. We have covered a lot of ground, enough to believe she may very well be on private land.

Aren’t the cell phone activities available?

I have not seen them if they are available. How can you plan a search perimeter then?

How do we balance between a prosicutors need to not compromise a case and a family who needs to know ?

She was a minor, her Mother must have access to her phone records, did she have an iphone? Are you saying LE will not support recovery efforts requested by the family?

I thought Mark Klaas was involved in this at one point. I know him to request those sort of things upfront before agreeing to have his team on site?

Mark is fully involved and runs search teams every Saturday.. Sierra’s phone was found in a field about 1 mile from her home a few days after she disappeared. Our search perimeter has grown from gound zero at the “clothes” find area to 20 miles out almost 360 degrees. from sea level to 1800 foot. Sheriff did occupy the search center until the arrest. Sheriff dive teams did all the water searches. Then they went silent. It is said that prosicutors want silence until the trial and conviction. They have charged him with other crimes too. F.B.I. was here early on and still monitor the situation.. Sierra’s mom dad and sister are always available but have herd no news from LE.

Have they tried working through a victims advocate? It is possible LE knows something that they are unwilling to release to the family due to it’s pertinence to the specifics of her case. I am being intentionally vague.
