Morgan Harrington disappeared from the John Paul Jones arena on October 17, 2009.  Morgan’s remains were located and recovered the morning of January 26, 2010 on the Anchorage Farm in Charlottesville, VA.

Reported exclusively on www.blinkoncrime.com,  Morgan’s alleged attacker was tied via DNA to a sexual assault in Fairfax, VA in September 2005.

With the help of a multi media campaign,  the FBI, Virginia State Police and Fairfax Police are asking for the publics help to catch her killer.

FBI Press Release:

Authorities Launch Multimedia Campaign in Morgan Harrington Murder Case
Murder Suspect Linked by DNA to Sexual Assault in Fairfax City, Virginia

FBI Washington June 13, 2012
  • Public Information Office (202) 278-3519

Today, federal, state, and local law enforcement launched a multimedia campaign that includes two enhanced composite sketches of a suspect in the 2009 murder of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington. The unknown murder suspect is also connected by DNA to a 2005 sexual assault in Fairfax City, Virginia.

Authorities recently enhanced the composite sketch created in 2005 from a description by the sexual assault victim. One of the composites shows the suspect with facial hair, as the suspect was described at the time of the attack. The second composite sketch features him without facial hair.

The two attacks were connected through DNA after a forensic profile was submitted by the Virginia Department of Forensic Science to the FBI’s national DNA database. The search found that the suspect in the Harrington murder investigation matched the DNA profile of the attacker in Fairfax City.

The multimedia campaign includes a public service announcement by Metallica lead guitarist James Hetfield appealing to the public to come forward with information concerning the Morgan Harrington investigation. The composite sketches of the suspect are being featured on bus shelters in Washington, D.C., as well as on digital billboards in Richmond, Virginia; Roanoke, Virginia; Washington, D.C.; and in 23 other states along the East Coast. Social media outreach and alerts via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, along with a website dedicated to the Harrington case were also launched Wednesday. Podcasts are now available on iTunes, and radio spots are airing to further raise awareness of the ongoing investigation. The multi-pronged effort is designed to develop new leads and renew the public’s attention in the attacks. The campaign implements techniques similar to those that have led to the arrests of the East Coast Rapist as well as Ten Most Wanted fugitive James “Whitey” Bulger.

The Jefferson Area Crime Stoppers is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Morgan Harrington’s murder. In addition, the band Metallica is adding $50,000 to the reward, for a total of $150,000.

Morgan Harrington Murder

On the evening of Saturday, October 17, 2009, Harrington attended a Metallica concert at John Paul Jones Arena on the University of Virginia (UVA) campus in Charlottesville, Va. At approximately 8:30 p.m., she left the arena and was unable to re-enter the facility. She was last seen hitchhiking for a ride from passing traffic.

Harrington was dressed that night in a black T-shirt with the word “Pantera” spelled out in tan letters and was wearing a distinctive Swarovski crystal necklace made of large crystal chain links, which investigators have yet to recover. Harrington’s “Pantera” T-shirt was found on November 11, 2009, in front of a row of apartments along 15th Street, NW near Grady Avenue in Charlottesville. Harrington’s skeletal remains were later discovered on January 26, 2010, in a remote field on an Albemarle County, Virginia farm along Route 29. A camera that Harrington had in her possession that night has never been recovered.

Sexual Assault in Fairfax City, Virginia

On the evening of Saturday, September 24, 2005, a 26-year-old victim was walking home from the Giant Food Store located on the 3700 block of Jermantown Road in Fairfax City, Virginia. The suspect grabbed the victim from behind as she walked down Rock Garden Drive toward her residence. He then carried the victim to a grassy area behind a maintenance shed, where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect was last seen running from the area.

The suspect is described as an African-American male with black hair and facial hair at the time of the attack. He is approximately 6’0” tall and was believed to be between the ages of 25 and 35 years old at the time of the attack.

The public is asked to review this information and consider whether they know someone who generally fits this description, who lived or had ties to the area around the times of the assaults, or who may have been known to spend considerable amounts of time in those areas.

People who know the suspect may not believe that he is capable of committing these crimes. He may not necessarily have a violent criminal history. Because investigators are in possession of DNA evidence that can either positively link the suspect to his crimes or exclude innocent parties, citizens should not hesitate to provide information, even if it is just the name of a potential suspect.

The following agencies are cooperating in the investigation of these crimes: the Virginia State Police, City of Fairfax Police, University of Virginia Police, Charlottesville Police, Albemarle County Police, Albemarle County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Virginia Tech Police Department, George Mason Police Department, and the FBI.

Law enforcement agencies are asking anyone with information to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Virginia State Police Tip line at 434-352-3467.

I hope this is OK to post. It appears this is Matt Beaulieu. I don’t see any names on his friends list that ring bells. His mom appears to be one of his friends. I believe they hail originally from Maine.

Matthew Beaulieu carried a rape kit.

That might make me think he has done this before.

Wow, I haven’t been to blinkoncrime in a long time. The Morgan Harrington case is the only one I have followed and commented on here, except for a few comments regarding George Huguely’s murder of Yeardly Love, as that is another Charlottesville murder case.

I saw the story about Lt. Rader’s letter on the news, and I can only imagine how this case must nag at him as it goes unsolved upon his retirement. He always struck me as a good man, despite the fact that the Harringtons apparently disagreed with him more than once, and I hope there is resolution to this case in his lifetime.

I was looking for clues in his open letter, though he specifically said people who did that to his previous pronouncements did it futilely, as he intended no cryptic messages hidden in his communications. I can’t help myself though. I find it interesting that he typed the word cop in all caps. Acronym for something or just emphasis? Maybe that’s the problem. All these years we’ve looked for cryptic myserious solutions to a crime that will be solved with good old-fashioned police work, and somebody talking.

I wish I didn’t have to leave the house right now. I want to get back into digging into this case, and then it’s another busy day at work, more outings tomorrow evening, and a busy day Friday, etc. etc. etc.

Good luck Lt. Rader with your letter; I hope it brings results.

Nice to see you juliemooly- There are a few words in caps.

I took Rader’s letter as such that he was speaking to both the killer(s) and to any witness(es) who are not coming forward. Because, in essence, they should have the guilt on their hands as well. Especially, if the perp(s) strike again.

I am horrified that this punk had a BUTCHER KNIFE plus handcuffs and duct tape in his car! He went out looking to abduct, rape, beat up, and terrify a woman. But NOT to kill, he says. Only maybe accidentally sort of, if she made him mad…

Could there be any connection to Morgan? So close to the same area where she was last seen.

  6. dda says:

With regard to Rader’s letter, does anyone else think this was written by a profiler? It seems that the repetitive use of certain phrases in all caps is sending a coded message even though Rader specifically denies using coded messages in the past. I think the letter is bait but I cannot tell if they are trying to catch a family member, witness, or a second person involved in the crime. The timing is interesting.

  7. @dda
Definitely not written by a profiler or any asset assigned to this case.

Haven’t visited BOC in ages but I just read about Beaulieu and this letter from Rader and had to come by.

Can anyone clarify the timing of Rader’s letter vs Beaulieu’s apprehension/arrest?

I get premeditation from the objects in Beaulieu’s car. Did I read that so far there is no bond? Blink, do you know if they can get his DNA on an attempted abduction? Maybe Morgan’s remains did not offer up his DNA, but based on his supplies, it seems that he’s done this sort of thing before.

His address is Lake Monticello, which is Palmyra/Fluvanna County and near Zion Crossroads. These are areas we’ve discussed before.

This line from Lt Rader’s letter sticks out to me: “Maybe you talked to law-enforcement and they missed your message.”

    Anyone else?

  9. deetee says:

my opinion only – Rader’s letter is aimed a group of known individuals. i believe TRUTH is capitolized because at least one of the group has been interviewed and has not told the truth. the use of YOU seems to hammer that home.

there are a couple meanings for COP, besides a slang for LEO. one can “cop” or score drugs and one can “cop” a plea.

I’m not sure what to make of DO THE RIGHT THING, but it is also clearly a point.

One of the articles that I read mentioned that Beaulieu has been employed by Aramark Corporation. His FB page indicates that he is a cashier at Runk Hall on grounds. Aramark is huge and they have their footprint quite prominently at UVA, including JPJA. Beaulieu apparently didn’t start working at his cashier job until 2010, but I wonder if he’s been privy to the boasting of someone with a similar MO while at work and got his kit ideas from them.

The following is from the JPJA website; I don’t know if it means that Aramark was the concession service provider for the Metallica show. It’s worth looking into:

I definitely feel like Rader knows exactly who he is adressing his letter to and also, that he believes that they have it in them to do the right thing and come forward with what they know. This tells me that it’s only a matter of time before the perpetrator(s) get(s) caught – LE is on his (their) tail(s), and I feel a little relief for the first time in more than three years…

They know who did it and they’re only waiting for the one element that will help them put it all together and send the monster(s) to prison for the rest of his (their) miserable life(ves).

You know something about Morgan’s murder? Better tell it now and get the credit for having the balls to so. I’ll be the first to give it to you and I know I won’t be the last. If you don’t, then I bet you’ll be trully sorry when they come for you… Because they will!

It’s very hard for me to read the repetitive DO THE RIGHT THING without thinking of Spike Lee’s 1989 movie concerning racial tension and eventually a violent explosion. I don’t know if there’s any connection in Rader’s mind but he certainly is old enough to be familiar with the movie.

It is my personal opinion that it was a strategically placed culturally significant phrase within the framework of the letter. Good catch Olivia, I was waiting for someone to flag it.

If you recall, I took a chitstorm of heat (what’s new) for this piece- but I think it deserves another look in response.

I stand behind my assertion that Morgan’s placement on AF has legacy and cultural significance.

Ms LAL, thanks for bringing the letter to our attention-
Redly thanks for pointing out the letter is not addressed to “the killer”

I also feel that Rader is a good man who tried his best while working on Morgans case.
It would appear he is still trying-

    Ihope the letter will help

It is obvious that Tader is trying to reach out to the person who knows the TRUTH of what happened that night- not to the B/G

To me, it does not seem as if Rader is trying a DIFFERENT approach so much as he is RETURNING to the approach he utilized before his retirement.

Again I return to that Dec 30th press briefing (the one that mentions physical evidence meaning shirt/blood)

The “Separating Fact from Fiction” briefing… when Rader sat behind the table and seemed to speaking to a person to come forward and spare their conscience-

The briefing where they released the fact that Morgans camera was missing…bring it forward ..and that she was acting irrational etc….

“I encourage anyone who may have given Morgan Harrington a ride and then dropped her off somewhere not to be scared to come forward,” said Virginia State Police officer Lt. Joe Rader. “We need that information. I encourage anyone who was with Morgan Harrington after the Copeley Road Bridge to please call.”

“Our main focus is locating her and bringing it forward to her family. We do not want a person who could have information that could help us to be fearful in coming forward,” Geller said.

-Police also issued a plea to anyone who might know what happened to Morgan but might be holding back because of fear of prosecution.
Investigators are willing to work with you in order to locate Morgan and bring her home to her family,” a news release read.

….what happened the night of the disappearance can fall into one of three possible scenarios.

“The first one is, a person wanted to give her a ride, they give her a ride, and something happens. Now the person doesn’t know what to do, so they either let her out somewhere, or dump her somewhere,” Rader said.

That person “could have had the most innocent intentions,” Rader said, “but for whatever reason, something went bad, and now you’re scared to come forward, because you’re scared of the implications. Don’t be scared. Come forward. Talk to us. If you’re out there, and you know something, don’t be scared. We need to talk to you,” Rader said.

The second scenario – “You had a person who had criminal intent from the outset, saw a vulnerable target, and took advantage. They’re obviously not going to come to us,” Rader said.

“The third is something we’re hearing from some people about how she wanted to meet up with someone and not be found. There’s absolutely no indication to that at this point,” Rader said.

“she wasn’t acting rationally that night. Normally she would have acted differently.”

New Details in Morgan Harrington Search
    12/30/09 7:02 pm

They held a briefing on the case Wednesday and say they believe the answer lies in the Charlottesville area. State Police tell us they have no suspects and no persons of interest.

It’s possible she could have gotten into the car voluntarily. State Police also confirmed Harrington had consumed alcohol that night. It is unknown whether that played a role in her disappearance.

What they do know is that she was not acting like herself.

Lt. Joe Rader with Virginia State Police (web) said, “The Morgan Harrington that we have come to know from the investigation was not acting rationally that night. She wasn’t making decisions that Morgan Harrington would normally make.”

    Snippet of brief- found-

Then we have Friends and family speaking directly to someones conscience:

    november 13
“Anyone who might remember seeing a vehicle randomly stopped in the roadway on Copeley Road bridge that night is also asked to contact investigators,” a police release said.

    nov 14
    The Harringtons

The search for missing Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington now enters week five. Saturday morning her parents, Dan and Gil Harrington, spoke on NBC’s Today Show.

They discussed the latest clues in the case and talking directly to the person who they think has Morgan.

A direct plea came 20-year-old Morgan Harrington’s mother, Gil Harrington. She stated, “You can be remembered as a hero of a terrible situation. Things have gotten out of hand and you can be the one that is remembered as the man who saved Morgan Harrington.”
    ===
    Nov 17

A close friend of the Harrington’s is also not giving up.

Karen Remine says, “Someone out there knows where Morgan is. And they know how to find her. So we are appealing that that person step forward or if you know of someone who knows where Morgan is.”

Then too we had Gils words of Morgan trying to “fashion a bridge to them…in-retrospect it seems an answer to whether or not The Harringtons knew of the shirt placement and thought it might lead them to her directly or to a person with a conscience who was willing to step forward and help….

    =–

—It seems Rader feels that there is definitely more than one person who knows what happened and that they may not come forward because they are fearful of what the implications for them may be- Did this person come forward once before while Rader was on Morgans case? IDK but again I have to ask myself if this all goes back to the shirt find-

Is Rader trying again to appeal to the shirt placer?

One has to acknowledge the timing of this letter- when was it written? IDK when was it released? November 13th

We must note the date of November 11th- and we must remember The Disappeared show and the fact that the 11th was the date noted when Rader got the call from CVPD- not necessarily the day of CVPDs initial “finding/recovery”…

As Juliemooly pointed out Rader says many searched for “secret” clues in his words- I want to be careful too but one can not help but look back…

I dont think it is futile, I think with retrospect one can see points that were overlooked- I think Rader was trying to be as forthcoming as he could at the time, without releasing pertinent info outright- although I still believe he let the shirt blood evidence “slip”-

Which may be why the DEC briefing is all but vanished…

Yet all of the briefings contained specific info some of which was for a specific audience
The info was not “secret” but was intended for the person in “the know” whether it was for residents surrounding AF- location location location, or whether it was for a specific witness to come forward

just as it is now … except now Rader wants to make sure it reaches the intended audience- He prefaces the message directly to the person and states:

    “I will be very blunt”

    pp
    YOU know the TRUTH-

    He wrote in the letter-

Some people evaluated every word I said in press conferences as some sort of secret coded messages, but that was never the case.

So there is no confusion for you, I will be very blunt- YOU are not the same person you were in October 2009, because you hold the TRUTH of what happened to Morgan that October night and it has consumed your conscience every day. You see, you have important information from that night! It is time for YOU to DO THE RIGHT THING and free the burden of your conscience with the information you have.

I do not know if Raders words of DO THE RIGHT THING were meant to be taken as a cultural/racial reference- but it is interesting that this phrase as been used in Virginia i:

Dear Governor, There is Still Time To Do the Right Thing

snipped: I hope that this can be explained as an oversight having to do with a busy schedule more important matters, but I am beginning to doubt it.

The problem as I see it is not simply that the governor has decided not to issue the proclamation, but that he made the announcement at a major conference on slavery and race sponsored by the Virginia Sesquicentennial Commission. His words clearly resonated with the audience, but without the follow through it looks like he used the occasion and the commission to further what now looks like a short-term political agenda.

That’s unfortunate given the hard work that the commission has done over the past few years. It has done a superb job of steering clear of partisan politics and focusing on disseminating the latest scholarship in an age appropriate way to those Virginians interested in this important time in American history. Did the governor really just use these people to further his own agenda?

There is still time to do the right thing and issue what promised to be a Civil War proclamation for all Virginians.

I hope we can all do the right thing- in the worst of circumstances-

    Nothing Else Matters

I am again assured as I read through the many kind post following a beautiful heart felt message heading this thread , I am assured that even in the deep dark abyss of the internet there is reality , compassion and a community built with it’s foundation solid in damn good people .

I am pushing 20 years online , things are changing ; for the better . Our neighbors are no longer those we wave at from the yard . Our neighbors are right here , online .

The internet tears down walls in society like nothing I have ever seen, The bar is set here on blinkoncrime . We walk in here equal, we are judged on our behavior and NOTHING else . I have never been ask if I were black , white , green or purple before contributing . There is no little gender sign guiding me to the correct area .I have yet to see a religious persecution . Sexual orientation, be it straight , gay , bisexual , trisexual or confused is of no concern . , I have yet to see a political war , I could be wrong , I have followed since day one through thousands of post , maybe I missed it but I don’t believe I have seen the name George Bush or Barrack Obama mentioned a single time through thousands of post , I find this so refreshing . I find all of this refreshing as I see people from all walks of life with a common goal to FIND MORGAN – NOTHING ELSE MATTERS .

20 years online , I can honestly say I have never seen a community of people where “nothing else matters ” .I cannot help but feel Morgan lived every day this way . Just the way we are living here, no barriers . From what I have learned of Morgan from posters in her room, 100 or more pictures , her own words , Tibetan flag’s , stickers on her trunk , various taste for music , Through her wonderful parent’s and Alex . , Morgan was living the way I should have been years ago , NO WALLS . I never new Morgan , Nor will I ever forget her . Dan and Gils words are painful , seeing them stare into the camera , empty , hollow , so mechanical …….so haunting . The new picture of Alex is screaming for help , I feel so helpless.

Morgan was no angel , her pretty face is deceiving – beautifully deceiving . No , Morgan was no angel , Nor did we ever need her to be .

All we need is for someone to tell us what were looking for .

    Dakota

    Absolutely. Well said.

In this scenario a certain trio of basketball players should be scrutinised more closely as to why they were initially reluctant to come forward with information. Up to this point the last known people Morgan spoke with that night were basketball players. I think one of them knows who murdered her.

Is anyone privy to what is going on re: “backlash” over Joe Rader’s letter? For one, I understand one reporter got an email from VSP stating Joe Rader was not involved in Morgan’s investigation. What the heck?

This type of reaction will only inhibit people from coming forward, IMHO.

    I was/am aware.

I begrudgingly agree with your point, and have voiced my sentiment as well.

  30. questioner says:

I’ve dug my way out of the woodwork to see what my fellow Blinksters are thinking and saying about this letter written it seems, specifically to someone by Lt Rader, and once again Mom 3.0 laid it all out so nicely for all of us.

I’ve always felt that Morgan was picked up and dropped off by someone who had no intentions of harming her, but where ever she was dropped off something went very wrong. There were too many indications that Morgan was on the bridge when she was picked up. In fact, the spot where the memorial was and still is, was a clear indication for me that Morgan’s world as she knew it, ended right there. From that point on, fate took over.

I can’t get the limo driver out of my mind, it’s like a haunting. He watched her with those BB players, so how long did he watch? The question in my mind back then and even now is, if he watched her with the players, and saw them all leave, then what did he do, just stop watching her? I can’t imagine that he would have much else to do while sitting waiting on his customer, but to look out the window. I say this from experience, because I now have a new profession, I’m a Taxi Driver. When you have no customers and are sitting somewhere waiting for a call, there is nothing to do but either read, think, or watch people, sometimes for hours.

I ask myself what i would do on a cold dark night if I saw a young woman walking alone, then being left behind in a deserted parking lot devoid of people, dropping her purse, spilling the contents and walking aimlessly onto a bridge then back again to the empty lot. I know what I would do, so what exactly did he do?

All just my opinion of course as usual. Hi Blink, I’ve missed ya!!

  31. redly says:

    Any link to that, rose7?

  32. deetee says:

just when you think it can’t get any stranger…

why do i feel like we have only glimpsed the tip of the iceberg?

I seriously am at a loss- rare as that is.

    LE is not acting right.

  34. Rose7 says:

Blink, my post of Nov. 19 – 12:04pm is still in moderation …. The one with the link to the Scott Leamon.Wsls report about VSP’s correction to Rader’s letter of Nov. 13.

If you think it’s covered, a-ok. Just checking.

  35. John says:

Poor Morgan. This seems like it is all tangled up.
LE is not acting right….Alexandra, what if LE is attempting to distance themselves from Rader, and KJ, and anyone else in their camp, who wants to get people to call in tips (at least those who are not LE) I ask myself why they might wish to do this. I answer myself thus….1) They think one of the party involved with the letter knows more than they have ever divulged to LE 2) They do not like anyone interfering in the case, even, and especially if it helps solve the case. 3) They are secretely investigating a suspect and do not wish the suspects BFF to say anything right now. 4) (now this point is sinister) ….someone related or BF with LE officer involved with the case knows something about what happened to Morgan and has not come forth. 5) Someone involved with the case and with investigating it, has had differences with Rader, KJ or whomever else, and this person is spiteful 6) Someone involved with investigating the case is anal, and wishes to get everything exactly right , even at the expense of solving the case….ie was Rader ever “the lead investigator” or was he “the boss” of the investigators, and thus only privvy to the information brought to him….we could go on and on…((((Personally, I pick number 6.)))MOO

  36. Judi says:

First off, God Bless Lt. Joe Radar. And, God Bless the Harringtons.

    What caught me was…

“Rader says the police had nothing to do with the letter. This was personal for him, and it had been bothering him for months that – as he says – certain people get free passes on having information and not coming forward.

He went on to say that the person he’s addressing may have already talked to investigators, but it’s time he or she stop telling half-truths and come full circle – no more “little lies.”

So there is no confusion for you, I will be very blunt- YOU are not the same person you were in October 2009, because you hold the TRUTH of what happened to Morgan that October night and it has consumed your conscience every day.”

How have YOU faced your children, friends, siblings or parents these past couple of years?

    http://www.nbc29.com/story/20098333/nbc29-exclusive-rader-interview

This leads me to believe that he knows for a 100% fact that someone isn’t telling them the whole truth, and for some reason, they are somehow “above the law” for lack of better words (certain people get a free pass….). He believes the person does have a conscious.

Lt. Radar had something on his chest he wanted to say, and he said it, without releasing any information and/or names. It’s nagging at him..God Bless him.

I personally believe, by certain things said, and how they were said, that he is addressing the basketball players. One of them know something, I think. They know who did it. Maybe it’s a family member, as we’ve discussed here before. But, they know who did it, and Lt. Radar believes it is eating away at their conscious.

Lastly, how odd is the claim that he never worked this case? What in the Sam Hill is up with that?

He is referencing the family or significant other to sketch who he believes is withholding information that could implicate him, or in this case, ID him. I have referenced before I personally believe that sketch and/or his accomplice has a compliant spouse.

You got me Judi, I have never seen anything like it.
    B

  37. Judi says:

P.S. This tells me that Lt. Radar does not believe it is a LEO or anything like that….

“Money has not brought you forward, but I understand it. No amount of money can clear a conscience that hides the truth. So what has held you back from making that call? Maybe you talked to law-enforcement and they missed your message. It can happen, so pick up the phone and call the VSP, AMW, FBI, or Crime Stoppers tip line”

“…I think you need to trust the police and whoever else who supports you that it will be okay.”

“The police can’t perform miracles all the time, they have to have help.”

  38. alexandra says:

Lt. Rader also said that they could verify the information the person has. They know more than we know. We avoided looking deeply at the BBP for some reason. We know she was last with them. She crossed in front of the bookeepers car with 4 (white)Boys In Black and we found out later they were BBP walking away from the arena together. I re read granny’s account of what started behing her car and if it was Morgan, the guy turned back around towards her again after they parted, after the struggle. Granny said they seemed to know each other. Maybe because she was talking to them 10 mins earlie? Someone came and got her as she was leaving the group, and there was a struggle, I’m thinking. Creating an alibi wouldn’t have been hard if M was in tow.
God Bless Lt. Rader! A man WITH a conscience.
O I had better start cooking. It’s 9:48. Happy Thanksgiving.

  39. Olivia says:

I have heard through the Charlottesville grapevine that Matthew Beaulieu has been an emotionally troubled person all his life, takes some kind of medication, and was off the medication–against doctor’s orders–when he made the attempted abduction. I don’t know his social circles or where he lives, but if I were the police I would be investigating his whereabouts on October 17, 2009. What connection could he have to Sketch? Drugs? Violent tendencies? Misogyny?

  40. Ode says:

I agree, God Bless Lt. Rader. If that person “You” could reach inside and try to understand what Lt. Rader is offering them they will be blessed as well in ways they may not understand. It will pay forward.

  41. questioner says:

You know, this has been nagging at me now for days. What would the reason be that VSP would attempt to discredit Joe Rader? Is it that they didn’t think of doing what Joe did first and carry it out? Personally I feel that Joe did a huge service to the Harrington’s and Morgan’s case by having the heart and guts to put himself out there and get whatever this is that’s on his chest off. It almost appears that he feels that VSP is possibly holding back information that they have chosen not to release to the public, that could further Morgan’s case along, so he is appealing to the “YOU”. Joe, you are a good man, thank you for doing what you are for Morgan!

  42. Judi says:

I don’t know if the person who knows who Sketch is that Radar is trying to reach out to follows the case here in BOC. But, if you do…

You have seen her parents on TV. You have seen the truly good hearted people that they are. You have seen their pain and suffering. If you have children of your own, for one moment, put yourself in their shoes.

And, again if you have children, imagine one of them having to endure what Morgan endured. You can’t, your mind won’t allow itself to go there. You would want the person caught wouldn’t you? Off the streets so he doesn’t do this to someone else’s child? Justice served? Closure?

This wasn’t a whoopsy. This wasn’t an accident. This wasn’t his first time. It won’t be his last. Don’t let him fool you into thinking that. And, you know how wrong it is, and you know he must be caught. You do know that in the bottom of your heart and in the core of your soul.

I imagine the guilt of knowing eats away at you. You can’t escape it, or hide from it. It follows you wherever you go.

You do know what to do, you are afraid of doing it. But don’t be afraid. This is one of those defining moments in your life. What you do will effect your entire life, and other peoples entire lives. This is your chance to be a hero, or a coward. This is your time to right the wrongs, to put an end to his evil ways.

    It’s time now.

  43. Jane says:

In peaking at Mr. Beaulieu’s facebook, it looks as though he travelled to San Francisco and has connections to Oregon/Maine. Maybe Morgan’s story along with “Sketches” photos should be made to those particular media outlets. I’m not accusing Mr. B of anything – just think it wouldn’t hurt. Also, I wish there had been another sketch showing a bald head, with thinner brows and eyeglasses.

Questioner I totally agree about the limo driver. I have questioned before who he is and who he was working for/waiting on that night.

Agreed. I forwarded a 40 page report on my thoughts to LE months ago.

private, private , lol, reading over at the hook ,gets weird fast. i really dont care what they say about people and am not reading for their sick sarcasm. i just have a good memory and rememeber some posts that , seem to be direct qoutes, for instance ,someone did write , “is rader running away from this case ” i havent found that exact post yet ,but the letter, seems he is directly responding to someone’s words ,and CAPS,(maybe, that is just his creativity ,to use group speak ,and he picks up the writing style),or people can just have similar writing styles, but going back through posts , i came upon veracity. the first few posts written by veracity at the hook are telling about the who is in charge issue?.i’ll point out the similarities later.did veracity write the letter for rader? i have only posted at the hook once , and this time about the letter ,lining up design wise , i wondered what michael sutton would say ,since he was saying the letter has a matchup/overlay with something in the “he’s still here article” . i have no idea what he is talking about, ever, and i dont really read there anymore ,but i went back thru almost all the comments . sutton is saying there are two skylers? i am looking for a weird post by skylar, where she talks about being in a black suv, and doing doughnuts in the parking lot. cuz she says her suv is silver, and i cant remember ezactly what model or color she ascribes it,or if it is even the same car ,when she visits the farm, but i thought she was descibing and old honker ,not suv,but i could be wrong. not that i am implicating skyler or veracity( who seems to be a ,serious missing person, official,of some type ),its just that the letter, seems a little coded to me,and i remember some of the same references, not that that means anything ,we are all speaking the same references in a way. but i scrolled through hook comments, looking for CAPS usage ,and veracity stood out immediatley.

  46. Olivia says:

    Where is everyone?

I’m trying to put myself in the shoes of someone who chooses not to come forward with information about the killer.
    Various possibilities:
    - She (or he) is terrified.
    - She depends on him for financial and family support.
    - There are children.
    - She is not sure about his possible involvement so she chooses not to tip off police or allow them to interrogate him; this could destroy their marriage, family, security.
    - She does not really care. She does not have a well developed conscience, anymore than he does.
    - She sees HIM as a victim of some kind, perhaps with emotional/mental/chemical imbalances controlled (or not) by medication.
    - Perhaps he was victimized or abused by others.
    - She fears she will be implicated, she has shielded him all this time.

  47. dda says:

    @Olivia:

Or maybe this person was told a lie by the murderer as to what occurred with Morgan. I remember at first there was speculation that it was an accident and the person panicked. The forensics disabused everyone of that notion but maybe this person still believes or wants to believe the lie that was told to him/her for one or more of the reasons you listed.

  48. Olivia says:

    @dda:

Yes, that sounds very plausible. This person may well believe that the police are looking for someone to pin this on. Given Sketch’s race, I will say the following: I think that many blacks believe (with good reason) that blacks will be the first accused or framed, found guilty, and then put away, regardless of the truth.

So if this person has any doubt, he/she may never come forward.

  49. questioner says:

Thanks Tarheel, and so my question would be, how would or could the limo driver, the area where the t-shirt was found and the t-shirt possibly connect? If indeed there might be a possible connection. AND, I’m certain by now he/she has been questioned a number of times, and maybe even, hopefully, the limo was forensically processed, (oh please someone tell me that it was), what might be keeping LE from telling the public that those things had been done? Could it be because they weren’t done?

Maybe I’m not stating what’s really in my mind correctly right now, but something is really hitting my hinkey meter on this.

  50. Judi says:

I wonder if LE has ever asked anyone to take a polygraph. And if so, has any refused?

I suppose asking anyone who came in contact with Morgan that night to submit to a DNA test to see if their DNA is a direct match or a relative is not an available option for LE?

They have got to increase the pressure somehow I think to get whomever Radar is trying to reach to come forward, because I think their fear trumps their guilt.
