Kyron Horman Disappearance: Exclusive Three Part Series Debuts On Blink On Crime

Kyron Horman would be 10 years old this Sunday.  Maybe he will be.  According to his Father Intel engineer Kaine Horman, his only son is alive and well at an unknown location “secreted” away by an unknown person with an unknown connection to his estranged wife Terri Horman.

Kyron Horman’s biological Mother, Desiree Young, or Momma as he called her,  believes  Kyron is either alive or deceased- both locations known to Terri Horman and possibly others.

Kyron’s case has once again been featured on Jane Velez Mitchell and is scheduled to be featured on Americas Most Wanted  .

Reader interest in what I have affectionately dubbed our “red eyed tree frog dude”  has produced well over 20,000 comments on this site alone.

In our upcoming report series,  Blink On Crime, in conjunction with contributing BOC legal analyst Washington Attorney Lea Conner  intends to review both  current information in detail as well as exclusive new information developed by  Editor In Chief and Chief criminal analyst, S. Christina Stoy.

Part I:  Desiree Young V Terri Horman Case : The Little Engine That Could, Or Could Not?

Part II:  Sovereignty Is A Myth: Revelations About The Morning Kyron Disappeared

Part III:  The Big Muscle Theory- Does It Have Weight?

Part I publishes Tuesday  September 11.

While we’re commenting on ambiguity of sovereignty is myth in relation to 8-12 6/4 @ Skyline School,
the sovereign of the school was Keefer. We know from a teacher comment (Gardes?) Keefer was mia on 6/3 and
something went wrong. I haven’t heard about Keefer being physically present in the gym, touring the classrooms etc 8-12. Maybe that’s why the staff laxness.

MbS, the pictures are posted on Terri’s FB as of May 2 & 3 2010. As well as commented on by others on the same date. How could they be from a zoo trip AFTER that date? Also, note that Kyron’s hair is longer in the zoo pictures, I don’t think those particular pictures were used to doctor up the school picture. Could have been other pictures of course, that we’ve never seen, but I don’t think pictures from that zoo trip were cut and pasted on to the school project picture. Kyron was seen by many others that morning, so I also think that if Kyron was not wearing those clothes that day, LE would not have put that description out or would have changed it.

If we assume that TH produced a photo hardcopy, then she either used the reproducer at FM, (usually located in front of the electronics dept) with a sick or teething baby while going store to store for medicine OR the photo was in hand before she walked in to FM.

Either way, I do not find it odd that pictures could have been taken on the 3rd, the day that the projects were set up. I might do the same, as things aren’t as busy. What is odd is that the photo has been altered, and a Bumble points out, not all of TH’s SF photos made it to her FB. Case sensitive perhaps, but when she posted, there was no case, yet.

I am not so sure we should dismiss her making actual pic copies. She also took a pic of Kurtis and he is not tagged in her FB, and I recall one of her posts saying she had taped an event and the principal asked her for a copy for the schools use. I have also seen what I believe many “scrap” or other creations in the home with printed pics, but in general, unless I am in need of larger copies or I don’t want to eat my inks on a small project, I print from my HP at home.

I want to say that I read it was a pic on her cell, but I have not been able to verify that. IIRC, the transitions lenses purchase was between April and May based solely on when he began wearing the new pair.

I am missing the meaning of this comment. JMO. BTW This is not the anti-terri Horman site.

I am anticipating that our series is going to be personal regardless of what side of a suspect fence anyone is on. To be frank, it is one of the reasons I have hesitated doing one.

I feel strongly there are aspects of this child’s disappearance and the people entrusted with his care that require critical thinking in an effort to progress his case.

I have no idea if it will be successful, but it is how I roll.

To all: because cd has reminded me of the level of emotional investment so many have for Kyron, I am going to ask all of you to kindly follow my rules of respect for one another and hopefully for me.

We can scroll and roll. We can take a break if we think our comment is not constructive whether it is dissenting or supporting, and we can disagree on the basis that until Kyron is found, and what happened in this case can be verified 100%, we really have no idea if anyone of us is “right” and should be open to all logical paths.

For me, I have one goal. Progressing Ky’s case to produce his recovery. Period.

My secondary goal and should absolutely be everyone’s, is to remind readers that we are afforded certain rights and freedoms as US citizens, and the restriction of liberty comes with a supreme burden to our criminal justice system. If we do not support it being met, every person in this country better realize it is a possibility for all of us without discrimination.

I would respectfully ask that consideration be on all our minds accordingly.

I guess it would be a good time to also remind folks not to post any hater links or reactions- I abhor that nonsense and it has no place here.

Thank you cd and Word Girl for allowing me to address all on the tail of your exchange.

I just realized, not that it really matters since the project picture is only from the waste up, but the pants Kyron is wearing in the zoo pictures are also not the same pants he was wearing the day he disappeared. The pants in the zoo pictures are a grey sweat pant, with a black stripe. The FBI flyer says he was wearing black cargo pants the day he disappeared. Just wanted to point out it’s not the exact same clothes. I personally just think, as evidenced by the photos on Terri’s FB of the family touring the CSI exhibit, that Kyron really liked wearing his cool CSI shirt and he probably wore it often. Probably one of his favorites.

Kyron’s clothes the day he disappeared:

    http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/06/kyron_horman_search_enters_eig.html

The actual pants pictured are Kyron’s, so they cannot be the same. I don’t think we can say with certainty whether or not he had the cargos with the black stripe or not.

This is the kind of basic crap that infuriates me, and I see it in cases all the time.

BASIC INFORMATION is critical to developing leads and takes very little effort on behalf of LE.

I am trying to go to editing before the wee hours or I would cite some of my own personal caseload examples.

Kyron was seen by many others that morning, so I also think that if Kyron was not wearing those clothes that day, LE would not have put that description out or would have changed it.

    @T.Ruth – I think that’s what I was saying, just in a different way.
    MBS says:
“That said – I don’t think the picture could have been from the zoo. I compared a close view from his exhibit picture and from the picture done without his glasses to the zoo pictures and it looks to me like he got a haircut after the zoo pictures. Many of us said his hair looked too short to be the 5 inch length of the Sauvie Island hairs. Unless he did not get a haircut and the picture that was photo shopped was older than the May zoo trip before his hair had gotten quite so long? (Surely he wore the CSI shirt more than twice – someone said it had been James’ shirt.)”

Well, I will accept that she posted the pictures as May 1 -2, but it certainly doesn’t look like the weather was that day. Nobody’s hair is the slightest bit out of place, for example. I guarantee you, with a lot of wind and gusts to 23 mph, my hair does not look like I just combed it. [“May 1 -2 temperature peaked at about 60 degrees, small amount of rain, and sustained winds were 8 to 14 with gusts to 23 mph, making it feel even chillier. In the pictures I’ve seen, the people don’t look chilled or with hair blowing in the wind. Kiara and other young children in some of the pictures had short sleeves and no sweater or jacket. The zoo is uphill from downtown Portland and on an exposed hillside for wind gusts or sudden showers – the adults don’t look prepared for that.”]

That also got me to thinking – my old camera phone (about 2 years ago) took great pictures. When I transferred them to my computer, it would ask me if I wanted to name them something. I could put in any name or any date I wanted and it would replace the one the camera had when the pictures ended up on the computer – but the camera or camera phone would keep the same dates. If I did not add my own “name”, the actual dates would be transferred to the computer. I could rename the pictures on the computer anytime I wanted.

With my newer equipment, the date the photo was taken is transferred and stored in my computer, but a new date can be added as the “name” and will show as a “tag”. However, if I copy that picture and email it to myself, the emailed photo will then show up, when opened, with the date of the folder I had put it in on my computer – the date that it was actually taken has totally disappeared, and I can save it under any name I want. I also had an editing program for awhile that would allow you to save an edited photo with whatever name you wanted and show the date as the date you edited it – which makes sense, I guess, since it’s a “new” picture.

I’m not sure what the computer stuff means except that I can see why it would take a lot of time to go back and verify that what you saw was really accurate – plus combining results from more than one source. I hadn’t experimented with that before because I assumed I didn’t know how to do any of that stuff, but all I had to do was move pictures around and see what the results were – didn’t have to know anything in advance.

I am so sorry that Kyron is still not home.

I do not usually post on Kyrons threads anymore as I dont have much to add, and they just move so fast

But I still read and hope.

I am glad that Blink and Lea are going to be working together to bring us up to date as it IMO has became too hard to separate fact from theories.

I agree with everyone who says that this is a very polarizing case

I have not formulated an opinion on who is to blame/guilty.
I still have some of the same questions and concerns that I had in the beginning.

To my knowledge none of these questions can be answered as 100% positive- if so someone please educate me.

Was Kyron dropped off at the end of the hallway- or in the class or at the science fair?

Was that picture of him definitely taken that morning?

Was he definitely at school that day?
Yes I know his backpack and jacket were there- but does that really answer the question?

Yes we know some children reported seeing him there -but are we sure we can rely on little childrens remembrances?

Is the fact that these questions cant be answered the reason why the school- the district, are not being held accountable in some fashion?

Did Terry hire someone to kill Kaine?

Is this Why she is not talking? Why it seems she is not fighting- fighting for custody of her daughter but instead fighting to remain silent?

If she is innocent of the “for hire” claims and even if she is guilty it would seem Kaine was a pretty horrible person in her eyes- why would she not be speaking out sharing her concerns for Kyron’s well being… and for her daughter remaining in Kains care?

What about Kaine? Where is he in all this… did he work alone or with police inorder to set up Terry…the texts etc? and would he still feel that Terry is to blame for Kyron if LE had not steered him in that direction? Would Desiree?

Both before Kyrons disappearance had no concerns about leaving Kyron and his sister in Terrys care- so what changed… what evidence has been shown to them?

Why cant Terry and/or her lawyer speak to Desiree so that they can help her to feel better – why cant they try to assure her and debunk some of this damaging info Desiree seems to be relying upon—One mother to another?

No offense to Lea but sometimes lawyers in the mix seem to only make matters worse.

    As for police-
Where are police going in this case? It seems like they too are hung up on these same questions and either they are pretty sure Terry is the reason behind Kyrons abduction or their tunnel vision seems to be preventing them from investigating this case and formulating other possibilities- and thus preventing Kryon from being found and it seems to have poisoned Desirees and Kains thoughts as well

So which is it? Is Terry at the heart of what happened to Kyron or are police inadvertently sabotaging this case with tunnel vision?

I dont know the answers hopefully Blink’s new articles can shed a light

    Still praying for Kyron

There is really nothing else at issue. It is that “plain”.

No matter how it splinters, in my mind, those are the two headers of columns A and B.

@ erose. it looks to me from last paragr p218 of PPB Rules & Regs they had jurisdiction on the grounds of any Portland Public School (idk what Distr 1 means) if it is declared a crime scene. Which may be one reason mcso waited to declare a crime. And I don’t remember mcso calling the school a crime scene. And it’s a good reason to
label the case custodial interference and so on. Otherwise, imo PPB can assert jurisdiction. Maybe the DA thinks mcso is more mallable & respectful of him than PPB homicide detectives.

Rose – District 1 IS Portland Public Schools. Each district in Oregon also has a number. A bunch of smaller districts merged in the 1960′s right before I moved here. I am not aware of the numbers meaning anything such as a timeline of formation, or whatever, but I’ve never cared enough to check the history. Most people don’t refer to them by the numbers but it shows up in documents, ballot issues, etc.

  35. RedRose says:

This is interesting. I read it that TMH got videos as well as still photos of Kyron and others at the SF. Would LE have those now? If she has videos, it’s a pretty good bet that SZ is in them.

Seems that all relatives always take lots of pictures at these things — if LE got all of the cameras and videos, there should be an answer somewhere there.

By the way, since the pictures were on her phone (or a camera), she could have easily – as most of us would – just download them to her computer when she got home. I don’t know that many people who use film cameras any more these days. Even videos would be recorded on a phone or digital camera.

Blink, I just caught the tail end of your proposal regarding posts and rebuttals here.

My reputation proceeds me, I believe, and you’ve got my promise to not bait (or switch) any tales I tell. I will stake all my (Neuskes) bacon on it.

However, I will pick at the police and media for not providing accurate descriptions and for having rules about Amber Alerts not being sent out because the victim was not in a car.

I also believe that spending hours in a gym does not necessarily lead to living a servant-hood lifestyle. Bodybuilding is more than staying in shape or preparing for athletic competition. Before someone quotes this paragraph with a “BTW”, please just scroll and roll. I’ve spent way too many hours here to get into an argument.

Terri Horman, in my opinion only, was all about herself. Her enhanced credentials listed in her LinkedIn or resume are embarrassing, as several of those designations don’t even exist. Her Facebook comments seem so…I dunno, shallow? She didn’t treat her children equally and the hearsay about drinking and making Kyron stay in bed make me question what she was about–if not just herself.

Alcoholism is a tricky disease. I hope she is getting help and I hope this time with her parents is helping her re-assess her life. A life that could be fully and freely lived. Would divulging information about Kyron’s whereabouts keep her from that life? Living in Limbo must be a different kind of hell for her now.

Are the police offering a plea deal at all? Is Houze advising it? Have the Hormans and Youngs encouraged Law Enforcement to share more (correct) information with the public? (Did they ever clear up the eyeglasses details?)

I don’t want to hog the blog, but I did want to remind everyone that a Pork Butt is not from the hind end. What I mean by that is that what is seen may not be real. What is real may not be seen.

Give everyone a copy of The Little Prince and let’s all be about the work of bringing Kyron home. “What is essential is invisible to the eye.” The value of a child, a human life, disappearing from a grade school (a somewhat ‘sacred’ space) surrounded by adults who seem void of spirituality, is a challenge of great magnitude.

I believe that those who read here can Bring Kyron Home.

  41. Sherlock says:

Well apparently folks, we have now entered the era when the disappearance of a child no longer immediately points to a serial killer or sexual abduction – necessarily. With the continuing deterioration of our civil society, it is now the fragments of a broken, dysfunctional family – especially the ex-husbands and ex-wives (assuming the parents even bothered to get married) who more and more are the guilty parties in a child’s disappearance. The innocent kids who get caught in the crossfire of divorce settlements gone bad, drug abuse, drug dealing and the ubiquitous “I’m gonna get my revenge on my %#@*##-ing ex-spouse by taking the kid”.

What is surprising, and disgusting is how well (apparently) these relatives or friends of family are able to abduct and hide these children (the Lyric Morrissey case) with so little evidence for so long a time.
The usual clues and MO’s associated with a pervert child abductor do not apply in these kinds of cases. And so the case becomes much harder
to solve. Family blood runs thicker than justice, or intelligence in many of these cases. No one talks. Old grudges last forever. It seems the centuries old instinct of protecting the children of the tribe above all else – has gone the way of handwritten letters and trusting your neighbors. Children are now just objects to be used in the family feuds of the genetically-challenged segments of our population.

Is Kyron still alive? Barring some discovery of a body, or a crime scene, I think there is a better than maybe chance that he is. Let us hope and pray so. Happy Birthday Kyron. You are a bright, wonderful kid with a lot of promise. You deserved a better family than this. May you grow up to realize your potential.

List Of Names Sent To Parents In Kyron Case

by ADMIN on 10. DEC, 2010 in PORTLAND

PORTLAND, Ore. — Nearly 500 people were on the Skyline School campus the morning Kyron Horman disappeared.
The task force behind the search for the missing 8-year-old sent a list of all those people to families of Skyline students Friday.

It includes anyone who was there on June 4 between 8 a.m. and noon.

Investigators want to know if anyone is not on it and should be, or if someone listed wasn’t actually there.

Here’s the letter from the school:

    Skyline Families,

Below you will find a message from the Kyron Horman Investigation Task Force. As part of our ongoing effort to cooperate with law enforcement in this matter, we are forwarding it to you and asking for your cooperation.

    Regards, Ben Keefer Principal

Members of the Skyline School Community:

One of the many tasks that law enforcement has undertaken in the course of the investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman has been to try and determine as definitely as possible the identity of every individual who was on the Skyline School campus at any time between 8:00 am and noon on June 4, 2010. This has proved a more complex endeavor than one might think. Many sources of information have been consulted.

To date, law enforcement has identified 490 people who were present. In order to ensure, as far as is humanly possible, that this is a complete and accurate list, one of the remaining steps we feel is necessary is to share that list with you, the members of the Skyline Community, and ask you to examine it and inform us of:

    1. ANY INDIVIDUAL (to include a minor child), other than a Skyline Student, who you have reason to believe was on the campus between 8-12 on June 4 but is not on this list; and 2. ANY INDIVIDUAL who is on the list but who you have reason to believe was not on campus during that time.

We realize that this entails some diminution of the privacy of those on the list. To that end we have removed the names of the Skyline students on our list. Additionally, other minor children are simply referred to as “minor child of ____” and not personally named. To others, we ask your understanding that this is a necessary step in an important criminal investigation and, in any event, would probably occur ultimately through media coverage of court proceedings.

You may respond to this inquiry in one of two ways:

    a. Call the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office tipline at (503) 261-2847 and leave a voice mail with the following information
    1. Your name
    2. That you are calling in response to the “Skyline School project”
    3. A contact number where you can be reached
    4. Information regarding any individual who should be on or off the list below
    b. Send an e-mail to Skyline.Flyer@mcso.us and include the same information listed in items 1-4, above.

Your prompt response to this inquiry will assist law enforcement greatly in completing one of our many tasks. Thank you in advance for taking the time to review this list and respond.

    —————-
    @Red Rose-
I could not agree more and have pondered the same. Surely there were a lot of photos and videos from that day. If SZ isn’t in any of them, then I would think he intentionally avoided being captured on film. It seems that would limit the areas he was skulking around in.
OTOH, maybe LE does have his image but he is completely unknown. If that is the case, then LE has failed epically by not releasing a picture or sketch/description.
As usual, more questions than answers.

Wikipedia starts its explanation of Sovereignty by stating, “Sovereignty is the quality of having supreme, independent authority over a geographic area, such as a territory.[1] It can be found in a power to rule and make law that rests on a political fact for which no pure legal explanation can be provided”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereignty

When I read that, the first thing I think of is the way Kaine tried to control the media (kicking “non-team playing” media out), the control of information about himself that has been released (the email sent out to all of intel telling them not to talk to the media about the case, and other than body building, we really know nothing about this man), and the way he makes claims about Terri’s character (her being passed out drunk nightly, leading a double life, etc.)

I see Kaine as believing he is in control of what information gets out, the way the public and MSM view the case, and what happened to Kyron that morning. From what Blink says (below), I think this may be one way of interpreting what “Soverignty is a Myth” means, but I could also be wayyyy more sleep deprived than I thought and make no sense at all, lol.

Blink says: (snipped) “I feel strongly there are aspects of this child’s disappearance and the people entrusted with his care that require critical thinking in an effort to progress his case.” (snipped).

I look forward to some locals participating in your new updates. I still don’t see how Kyron vanished without a trace from the school property. I can’t always remember what I should, but I am all eyes and ears when I’m out and about. Aren’t most people – particularly around children? Could there be someone at the Science Fair who has come forward with information?
