Jessica Ridgeway Murder: Investigation Focuses On Suspects Of Prior Kidnap Attempts, Points To Local Suspect

Jessica Christine Ridgeway , the grape-hued bespectacled 10 year old who lit up the court as a Stadley Lake pee wee cheerleader, left her Westminster home at 8:30am on October 5, 2012.

She was due to meet her walk-buddy Jeremy after speaking to him briefly from her Mom’s cell at 8:25am.  When she did not show by 8:40am, he hitched a ride from his Dad to avoid missing the 8:50am bell.  The drive route would not pass an “enroute” Jessica if she were to take the normal path to school.

Jessica never made it to Witt Elementary School (WES) and the school called her Mother’s cell by 9am to alert her to her absence.

Sarah Ridgeway, Jessica’s Mother,  worked the night shift and never heard the cell phone she left downstairs.  Later in the afternoon Sara retrieved the voice mail from WES,  got in her car and began looking for her daughter.

Ridgeway reports her only child she shared with Jeremiah Bryant missing via 911 when she was unable to locate her.   Jeremiah Bryant, Jessica’s Father, was alerted first by his employer when police were trying to determine his whereabouts, and then directly by investigators.

Despite the 6   hour delay  Westminster Police reacted swiftly.  They had interviewed children that normally walked to school with Jessica by the end of the school day and issued an amber alert by 9:15 PM Friday evening.

Victorious.   This is the word splashed across Jessica’s pink backpack found by a neighbor in nearby Superior in the early hours of Sunday October 7th.  It was believed to have been placed there between 6:45PM Saturday and midnight Sunday morning.

By Sunday afternoon Jessica’s family had confirmed the backpack ,complete with water bottle bearing her name , was hers.  By Sunday afternoon investigators knew the chances of this ending well were lost when a clear and deliberate placement of a missing ten year old child’s backpack was a definite calling card intended for them.

The complete contents of the bag or any other evidentiary clues it yielded have not been released.

Hours before Waste Management crews would stumble across the horrific mutilated partial remains of the little girl whose abduction had thousands of law enforcement assets scrambling to find her and the rest of us with cable-holding our collective breath,  Jessica’s parents were cleared of any involvement in her disappearance.  An unknown predator was responsible, and HE was out there.

While it has not been disclosed publicly, sources inside the investigation speaking to BOC on the condition of anonymity have confirmed that both Sara Ridgeway and Jeremiah Bryant were administered and passed polygraph examinations.

Panic Button

82nd St, west of Quaker.   Across from a series of abandoned buildings and near a dilapidated mine shaft, Jessica’s torso was discovered by a maintenance team routinely scheduled to clear debris from the area. While her remains were partially concealed by a dark garbage bag,  it was clear whoever placed them where they were intended for them to found quickly.   Close to a drainpipe that would have likely hidden the fate of the little girl indefinitely, her killer chose instead to traverse a culvert placing the bag inside the barbed wire fence on an elevated area visible from the road.  Sources indicate to BOC that the the dismemberment was intentional and several body parts remain missing.

The state of her dismembered corpse delayed her identification from the prevailing methods of dental records and fingerprints and had to be confirmed via DNA through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) lab.  It did not delay a thinly veiled and uniform look of panic among law enforcement officials in Westminster, Arvada, the FBI and the Jefferson County DA  during the press conference announcing what everyone already knew.

An autopsy preformed last week awaits toxicology and other anthropologic study results to make a final determination on her cause of death,  however,  as police have established she was murdered there is no question her manner of death is listed as homicide.

Jessica Ridgeway was the victim of a child predator of the darkest variety, and he is likely a member of the immediate community living among those in their extreme fear and grief.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

Last Fall, and as recently as a few weeks before Jessica was abducted,  police in Jefferson county had been alerted to what they believed amounted to two different men suspected of attempting to lure children into their vehicles.  A letter was sent home from Jessica’s school in September.

While it is not known if these suspects and composites are connected to Jessica’s murder,  police would still like the public’s help in providing any information about their identity and whereabouts.

Last November a series of attempted abductions of young girls in Arvada caused Arvada police  to release a composite of an as-yet unidentified suspect.

Attempted Child Abduction Incidents

  • On Saturday, November 12, 2011, just after 3:00 p.m. in the area of Danny Kendrick Park (7000 Ward Road) and the Apex Recreation Center. Arvada Police were called to the area on a report of an attempted child abduction involving a 12-year-old Arvada girl.
  • On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, just after 8:00 p.m., a 6-year-old child was contacted by a man as she sat in a lounge area of the YMCA located at 6350 Eldridge Street. The suspect lured her outside and she was able to break free and return to her parents inside the building.

Indecent Exposure

  • On Friday, November 4, 2011, three 12-year-old girls were playing outside in the area of 69th and Robb Street when the suspect approached the girls and exposed and touched himself in their presence.

Suspicious Incident

  • On Monday, November 14, 2011, Arvada Police were called the area of 77th and Parfet Street where a 15-year-old girl was contacted by a man driving a silver or white four door car who began asking her for directions.

Although Westminster Police have publicly ruled out any connection to the Ridgeway case,  about 8 hours away in Cody, Wyoming,  Jesse Paul Speer, an acclaimed wilderness and wildlife photographer with ties to Colorado was arrested for abducting and sexually assaulting an 11 year old girl he forced into his vehicle after she declined along with her friends to help the man search for his imaginary dog.

On Monday October 8th, Speer is alleged to have sexually assaulted the child in his vehicle over a 4 hour period, finally releasing her with a bag over her head in a remote stretch of wilderness in temperatures under 30 degrees and known for heavy predatory wildlife.  Speer , a highly experienced outdoorsman,  knew the chances of his victim  succumbing to hypothermia or worse- were strongly in his favor.

Fortunately, Speer’s victim was found wandering by a hunter and amazingly was able to provide a full description of her attacker,  the route she was taken although her hands were bound behind her back and Speer’s repeatedly pushed her head down into the seat AND described that while she was being assaulted Speer’s had hundreds of pictures of naked girls strewn about the vehicle.

Westminster Police have not elaborated on the FBI’s exclusion of Speer in the Ridgeway case and the only known and verifiable whereabouts of Speer are based on video of him entering the Yellowstone National Park at 4PM October 7.

While I have faith in the FBI, I admit that that the likelihood of two separate and distinct  perpetrators engaging in the stranger abduction and assault of similarly aged girls when the same also occurred a day earlier in Westminster being two different offenders is very slim- gives me great pause.  Speer fits the suggested general FBI profile found below.

Speer is being held on a $2 Million dollar bond in Montana.

Much closer to home,  as recently as last May, a female jogger was attacked by an unknown man who attempted to shove a cloth in her face she felt had some sort of chemical on it.  It was the second attack on a jogger reported to police since 2010 and is currently unsolved.   An 8 year old on a dry trail  was similarly assaulted a few weeks before that about a mile away a few weeks prior to the May incident.

It is unknown if any of these incidents are related to the Ridgeway case, but until they can be excluded the possibility this suspect is not necessarily fixated on child victims should be of great concern.

If in fact Jessica did attempt to walk to school by cutting across 106th St,  she would have been walking on the gravel open space trails that connect with the Ketner  and Countryside loops.

The Suspect Profile

Well, sort of.  The FBI, through Agent Dave Joly has released a public request for citizens and especially parents to remain vigilant and in particular to take notice:

FBI spokesman Dave Joly on Thursday asked for the public’s help in identifying possible suspects.  He said the suspect could “be your boss, your friend” or a family member.

The FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit said that often, someone in the community will unknowingly be associated with the offender of the crime, and may be in a position to observe behavioral changes in that person. They will recognize the changes, and may even question the person about it, but may not relate the changes to that person’s involvement in the crime.

Immediately following the incident, he may miss work.  The absence will be sudden and unplanned.  He may either be a “no show” or he may offer a plausible excuse such as illness, death in the family, car trouble, etc.

He may miss scheduled appointments/commitments and be unaccounted for during this period.  These appointments/commitments may include such things as medical appointments, meetings with a probation officer, prior commitment to a friend or family member, drug test, etc.

He may suddenly leave town, either with no explanation or with some plausible reason.

This individual may express an intense interest in the status of this investigation and pay close attention to the media.  However, some offenders may quickly turn off media accounts or try to redirect conversations concerning the victims or their families.

There may be changes in the usual consumption of alcohol and/or drugs.

He may make a change in his appearance or alter something to prevent identification, such as changing the look of his vehicle, cleaning or discarding his vehicle.

Joly said the FBI is “working on an abundance of leads” in the case.  He would not discuss specifics of the body that was found Wednesday and said the FBI is only wanting to give a profile to the public so that they might notice the behavior of the suspect.

Anyone with information should call the tip line at 303-658-4336.

Blink or posters what is the significance that Jessica did not appear to have a positive consistant father figure in her life? Not saying that the 3 moms were lacking, but could this be part of Jessica’s victimolgy? and tell something about her attacker?

Excellent question and yes, it could.

Unfortunately, the only two people that know that right now are Jessica and her offender.

Victims that were lucky enough to survive or escape an attacker of similar profile said the offender sometimes told them things about themselves, or family, that they themselves had forgotten or would not aware of.

The lurings and attacks have taken place late afternoon or later, on a weekend or holiday, and now, early in the morning. I have gone back and read reports on most of them and the incidents I read about also did not happen during the summer months.

This could tell us something about his employment. He may work a Monday through Friday job especially considering he chose a weekend to do this. Maybe he took Friday off then returned on Monday. From what I understand there were attacks in November 2011, in May 2012, then another luring in September.

I do believe he has watched Jessica before which could mean he works near to her neighborhood and works nights or needs to be at work by 9:00 or later.

A spokesperson denied that any reciepts were found related to Jessica’s murder however Fox News states they stand by their story.

Let’s assume reciept/s were found. The cashier stated she was not shown a date on the reciept when LE interviewed her. It has also been reported that LE had to search videos from the grocery store going back four months.

Could the killer have intentionally left the reciept/s and torn off or otherwise erased the date just to leave more of a clue that won’t be so easily figured out?

    …just a thought.

Do you have links in support Amy’s sister? I need to be diligent about that in this case.

It is too late for Jessica, but the adults in this area with children need IMO to get together and form a walk to school with the children program or put together a transportation network to get every child to school safely.

The guy in the van across town posted by Purrdazy needs to be outed to the entire area. There is absolutely NO reason for a person taking pictures of children at a school. Especially is this true if it is determined that he did not have children enrolled at the site.

Where were the school administration regarding this event? Why didn;t they take the lead in announcing this to the media?

It is a known fact that there are people who will go to a public location for the express purpose of taking pictures of young children that will later be posted on pedophilia web sites.

If the police have actualy interviewed this guy, I will be suprised.

    Purrdazy

You and some of your friends need to visit the local police together and verify that they actually were called to the scene and made a report. Go in person and don’t take an off-hand statement as an answer. Get a copy of the indcident report even if you have to offer to pay for it. Then you need to as a group speak to the officers making the report and let them know of your concerns. You might also inquire if other such events have come to the attention of the police in the area.

The Denver area is just like a lot of other metropolitan areas made up of the central city and many adjacent towns. There are police jurisdictions and school districts that may be across town boundaries. You should know or have access to information that identifies the various areas.

If you get the information about the incident and it is actually true, a visit to the local school superintendents office is IMO in order. Let him or her know of your concerns.

Thanks for your comments Texas Grandfather… When the incident happended, the schools proinciple actually followed the man in his own vehicle while talking to police to obtain the license plate # of the van. I had seen the police at the school that day, but only knew about the incident because one of the security guards told my son. My son is almost 13 and walks about 7 blocks home from school everyday alone. It terrifies me, but as a single mom I feel like my options are very limited. He walks as far as he can with another boy, and then has to do a small strech by himself. I do pick him up as often as possible, and we always drop him off in the morning. I want to remind everyone that we don’t know what everyones situation is.. If I had another choice my son wouldn’t walk 1 block alone even at 13.. but I do what I have to and arm him with the best metal tools I can to protect himself… but back to the incident.. The police did make contact with the individual, however did not find his camera, although the school told me several parents witnessed the “creepy” man watching and photographing students. I spoke with school security and the school principle regarding the incident and why parents weren’t notified. I also intend to go to the next PTCO meeting and discuss this incident as well as other general safety concerns.
There was another attempted abduction in Aurora yesterday morning. Ironically my brother is about to close on one of the townhouses in the background of this video. http://kdvr.com/2012/10/22/8-year-old-girl-says-one-word-stopped-her-potential-kidnappers/ (It’s from FOX news.. so hopefully this story is accurate) He is also about to have his first child, my first neice.. and we are very excited! Terrified as well! The world is not safe for any of our children.. and it’s making me angry! WTF is going on and how to we stop it? It sounds to me like the White male described here may also fit the sketch posted in other attacks.. Although again, Aurora is on the other side of Denver. Not a far drive tho, all of the suburbs are connected to the city of Denver, you can get to any of them fairly quickly by car.

So many questions in Autumn’s case too – was her bike found and where? Was there DNA taken from her body and the recycling bin where she was found? Who were her last text messages to? I’m sure the police are all over these and other questions and, hopefully, her killer and Jessica’s were just sloppy enough to get caught.

With Autumn, Jessica, and Whitney Heichel, the bodies were found within days of their disappearance. Makes me wonder about some of the others – Kyron, Holly Bobo, Jennifer Kesse, Kelli Bordeaux – are they still alive somewhere or were their killers just smart enough to get away with it?

Also, the strange series of markings on the back almost look to me like they form the same triangular shape as the location of Jessicas house, where the backpack was found, and where her partial remains were found.. with another line that goes off in a different direction.. perhaps the location he will move next? IDK.. I don’t pretend to be any kind of web sluth.. That’s just what came to my mind when I looked at the Cross and I’m interested in the thoughts of everyone else here.

I’ve been getting plenty of complaints from my teen about the safeguards on their electronics. So I’ve loosened some up on the trade-off that their computer is now slower but they have more freedom, because a keylogger is running during most applications. What do you think? More work for me, but a reasonable progression?

That is a deeply personal decision. My children are aware that i will have access to all of their online activity, and any of their electronics upfront. That said, due to my occupation, they are aware constantly of situations like this. I run the risk of rebellion I guess, but to date, they are ok with “if we pay for it, we get to see it”.

They do know that I have no intention of reading texts, or things like that, unless as I have told them, we feel a need to- which would normally start with someone being dishonest.

With much respect, if parents have not taken the time to familiarize themselves with technology or social media their children are using, they may be putting them at risk.

    B

  14. A Texas Grandfather says:

With the evidence we have of electronic access by tweens and teens and the dangers they present, I believe every parent should provide tracking software on any electronic device. If I had teens in the home as a parent, they would be told at the time of purchase that safeguards would be put in place or they could simply not have the device.

We all have to realize that beginning around age ten, youth are in the process of pushing away from the protective home life in an effort to become their own person. It is a tough walk for parents to take as to when an where some activities will be allowed and others not. Talking and communicating in a way that your child or children will understand your concerns will help.

Children do not think of danger that may be surrounding an activity. Parents need to work on this contineously until they are out of the home in college or in the military or living on their own.

  16. Purrdazy says:

Susanm, it reminds me of a sticky wood for some reason.. a soft wood. I’ve seen similar crosses in gift shops.. like something you’d find in a roadside rock and gift store in the mountains.. attached to a thin black rope chain. Definitly link the photos when you have time! At first I believed that the markings on the backside could just be wear and tear. If I carried something like that in the bottomless pit of my purse it may come out looking beat up like the backside of the cross. The more I look at it tho I almost think it looks like a map.. However, those back markings don’t appear as deliberate as the 3 lines in a row on the other side. I’m not sure what I think about the off setness.. It’s an interesting clue tho..

I did a google search for “rash of child abductions” and I came across devices like the one below. I thought some of you might be interested in it.

    http://www.amberalertgps.com/product_device/device/

It’s a GPS tracking device made specifically for children and it has an SOS button. It also reports location every five minutes. And you can set zones in it so that if the child leaves the periphery of the zone, you’ll be alerted. There’s also a company that makes GPS shoes for Alzheimer’s patients (a great thing!) and I’m sure there are companies that make them for children’s shoes too.

    http://www.gpsshoe.com/

What I was looking for though, was an explanation for this alarming number of child abductions we seem to be having lately. I couldn’t find an explanation in my google search. This was a very rare thing back in the 60s, and over the years it seems to happen more and more. It seems to be on the news at least once a month now, and in the last month, it seems to be much more than that!

    _______________________________________________

Cindy, I’m wondering the same thing, how to stop the epidemic entirely. I have no idea how it would begin, but I wonder if it’s something that would have to be done on a national level, like by the F.B.I., but what can they do?

Sometimes I wonder if the easy access to porn since the internet is contributing to this. Years ago, people fought hard to keep things like porn theaters far, far away from residential areas. It wasn’t hard to fight something like that, because EVERYONE agreed. Now there’s porn in living rooms all over the country. Everywhere. Back then, we thought that porn was related to rape. Is it? To this day, I have friends who won’t let their daughters even DRIVE PAST a singles bar, and a singles bar is a far cry from a porn theater. But I don’t think porn could ever be outlawed…freedom of speech and so on. Nevertheless, I think it contributes to so many children and women being abducted. Plus when you add the incredible increase in drug use over the last several decades, it’s a bad mix.

Too, I think this killer in Colorado is into the occult. The cross doesn’t seem like some gesture of remorse at all to me. To me, it smacks of the occult. And I think he meant to mock God and Jessica’s family and all of us. I don’t know. Maybe if we warned people, especially young people, that music videos and such with occult overtones aren’t harmless. They’re depraved. I’m sure I would be ridiculed for being prudish if I were to really make a stand on these things, but these things do cross my mind often, especially lately. As maybe the only answer to this.

And I agree with you. I’d LOVE to know warning signs, if there are such a thing. Ann Rule BEFRIENDED that serial killer from the 70s/80s, Ted Bundy, and she of all people would have detected warning signs. So maybe there are no warning signs. Are there?

Thanks for listening. I felt such a need to vent.

Police have said there’s a definitive link between the Memorial Day jogger incident and Jessica’s abduction.

    Definitive, meaning a DNA match?

Is it possible that instead of DNA, they made a match with the chemical that was used on the rag? Could they have tested Jessica’s remains and identified a chemical substance, and then asked the 22-year-old to “match” the smell that she remembered?

They need to define if it is forensic or not.

@Lizzy. I have taken exactly the same approach as Blink on daughter, child 2, rather than keylogger. While girls are supposed to be more snippy than boys with Mom, I think she felt good about parental caring. The benefit of involving them in knowing about your ability to moniter candidly is that they then self-monitor, put on the brakes, and imo that enhances their self esteem. She has told me Facebook has a higher tier of private friend pages, and a couple times showed me her HS teammates private private pages which I’m sure their parents don’t see of drunken stupidity to explain to me (and seek affirmation for) not partying with those HS teammates. So be aware there are hier level private possibilities on FB.

I had to teach her twitter goes to the World, after the fact, and beg her to close it if she could.
And, I found her steady was sending risque texts, but that resolved in college when she found his texting & Skype too burdensome & broke ip. So, some things fall away.

I found Blink’s approach of “It’s accessible on a respectful basis to caring parents who happen to be billpayers” from ground zero to be the only way to go. But, I did not do this with Child 1, as he didn’t go online til college, so he is lost in terms of on line sense.
best to start under yr supervision from an earlier age. Continue it in college with college acct as long as you pay the tuition. Daughter is the most independent self-starting child in the universe, but if you do this from an early age, even that sort of spirit will adapt.

At this point, the next time you buy new equipment, phone or computer, set out the new rule, get the passwords, say it is caring & concern.

Although Autumn’s death is not connected to Jessica’s I do think the the fact it was brother’s that more than likely were responsible for Autumns tragic end is and I have a that “back of the mind” feeling the same may be the case for Jessica’s. What I am saying is that I think more than one person may be involved with Jessica’s murder and I think that those people are related by blood. I can not help but to notice that many RSOs have sibbling that are also RSOs. I think about Brittney Wood and all the sicko pedos that were related in her family. Had the jogger in May been a successful abdution I can not help but think some one else was nearby in a waiting car. There have been speculation as to this happening on a Friday before a 3 day holiday that this person may be doing it because he has an extra day to the weekend to complete is dirty deed. Could it be that whoever he lives with takes advantage of 3 days and leaves town and this gives the murderer(s) time alone in their residence?

  28. Ode says:

I also wonder about all the different abduction attempts and the different cars that have been mentioned. If they are connected could someone have access to alot of different cars such as a direct connection to a used car lot.

I think this very well may be how they catch him.

There was a murder on Cape Cod years ago. A young woman named Christa Worthington, and the police had DNA of the murderer, but they had no other clues. They attempted to collect DNA samples of every man in the entire town, and it took a long time, but that’s how they caught him. It turned out, he was the trash collector guy for her house. This was on the Dominick Dunne show.

Joan, We are on the same page as I’m sure many others are too. What can be done on a national level to stop this epidemic?
Agreed, porn is way out of control, plus it is not just what you and I think of as porn, but hardcore abusive disgusting porn filmed in other countries and distributed here unlawfully. Laws need to be enforced. Then mixing it with a drug culture that’s more widespread than most of us would imagine. Laws need enforced. Mix in the definition of what a family is in today’s society with children growing up with multiple parents with different parenting styles, pitting parent against parent, etc. Add a dash of cults and we have a recipe for disaster playing out right in front of us.
I truly believe that this epidemic needs to be tackled on a national level. The Amber Alert is great! A nationwide educational focus on parent education and awareness would be a great help. Opportunity needs to be removed from the offender.

This cross on Etsy looks most like the one presented by police…interesting it is made from Mexican cocobola wood.

I am wondering if the killer of Jessica is connected to Kayleah Wilson from Greeley March 28, 2010. The boyfriend was never charged with her abduction or murder but was convicted of statuatory rape.

    Any thoughts?

  33. mas says:

Regarding the cross, the 3 lines on it kind of freaks me out such as 3 successful victims???

That is a definite theory of mine.

On the discussion about child abductions, I think the stats show that the number of crimes against children, and the number of abductions, has decreased over the years per capita. You just hear about many more of them now because of the media and, of course, the population of the country is a lot bigger so you may have more in actual numbers while still having less per capita. As a society, we are better educated about safety precautions and take steps to hopefully prevent the tragedy from happening to our children (and that is a good thing), but that doesn’t mean it is more or less dangerous. For example, we make all of our kids wear helmets now when biking, but biking itself isn’t more dangerous.

is this case a copycat? or connected,it is now said the driver could be white,or hispanic ,22 to 30 , on october 16 ,http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/womans-attempted-kidnapping-outside-bar-investigated-in-aurora

Hi Susan.. I haven’t looked at the links to the wood on the crosses yet, but thanks for posting them. I just wanted to respond to your other post about a possible connection to this attempted abduction of the woman who fought them off.. There have been 2 other child abduction attempts since the attempt on that woman. One was a little girl at a bus stop in Aurora Monday morning, and one was a little girl in Brighton yesterday. In some of the cases the cars do not match eachother, but in a couple the discription of the person/people are similar. In a couple of the cases as with the one you posted, there are 2 men working together. I believe it’s several individuals that feel like with the focus on Jessica Ridgways killer it’s a game they can play with police. Maybe they want the attention instead.. or maybe it’s the silent sicko code where they help eachother out by creating fear and more work for investigators. Like when criminals in the ghetto cat call eachother (even if their strangers to one another).. as to warn that the police are near… IDK! I do think some of the crimes are connected.. I think there may be a connection to the two instances in Aurora both discribed as two males but in different vehicles. Also the connection they’ve made between the jogger and Jessica I’ve wondered a lot about. The attempt on the jogger was unsuccessful I thought? Am I wrong? So if unsucessful the amout of DNA left behind would be minimal compared to the amount they most likely have in Jessicas case. Because of this I think that it’s possible that the connection is the cross and not forensic. Gonna go check those links now :)

  36. mas says:

Ok, any ideas if this cross matches the one connected to Jessica Ridgeway?

sold on Etsy by a woman in Portland Oregon and is called a Australian Cross. She uses different types of wood and states no 2 are exactly alike.

I believe if they want to develop an ownership lead to this cross, they need to release the type of wood.

  37. mas says:

oops forgot to add, the specific cross is larger than the one in connection to Jessica but the etsy seller makes them in different sizes.

  38. JerseyMOM says:

@mas….check my post above about the mexican cocobola cross by the same etsy seller…it is even a closer match in shape, dimension and woodgrain http://www.etsy.com/listing/99613944/wood-cross-jewelry-mexican-cocobolo?ref=cat_gallery_9

It is also eery that the items sold on the site are wood jewelry, DISH CLOTHS, and mens jewelry. These are very specific handmade cloths….wonder what kind of cloth was used in the jogger attack, maybe unique fibers were left behind?

  39. mosaic says:

Could there be a parallel between carving a cross and carving a person (forgive the grimness of that image)?

The police have only said the remains were not intact, so we don’t really know if there was additional mutilation to the body beyond the dismemberment. Could there be markings on her body that mimic the markings on the cross? And could this be the reason they know the cross belongs to the perpetrator?
