Alexis Murphy Missing: Suspect Randy Allen Taylor Arrested For Abduction Under Investigation For Possible Serial Abduction and Murder With Ties Also To Samantha Clarke and Alicia Showalter Reynolds

Nelson County, VA-

Randolph Taylor

Announced this morning by  Virginia Commonwealth Attorney an arrest has been made in the abduction of missing Lovington woman Alexis Murphy.

Randolph Allen Taylor,  is being held in Albemarle County Jail on a kidnapping charge.

Murphy’s vehicle was found over the weekend in a Charlottesville Carmike parking lot near her job at a consignment boutique,  Murphy has not been located and was last seen at a gas station approximately 39 miles away.

Taylor was the recent recipient of vacated charges when Green County, VA Major Randy Snead authorized the placement of a GPS, without a warrant, under Taylor’s 1993 Gran Marquis while investigating his association to another missing woman- Samantha Clarke.

Snead was exonerated in any wrongdoing after he chased a 19 year old man who had stolen a deputies vehicle out of his jurisdiction and was part of over twenty officer’s responsible for shooting the suspect, Colby Eppard.

The FBI is also looking for a GMC Suburban which is also associated with Randy Taylor.

During today’s press conference,  Richmond FBI Chief announced that law enforcement will not be commenting on reports of Taylor’s  suspect status in other possibly related unsolved cases, however,  www.blinkoncrime has learned that at the top of the possible case list is the unsolved abduction and murder of Alicia Showalter Reynolds.  Taylor bears a strikingly similar resemblance to the sketch generated in Reynolds disappearance and murder.

1996 Showalter Suspect

Two unsolved murders in 1996 Shenandoah National Park, Julianne Williams and Lollie Winans which resulted in a 2002 indictment against Darrell Rice ended in the withdrawal of same in 2004 due to a DNA profile found that did not match  Rice.  It is not known if police are investigating any potential involvement by Taylor in that case.

Although Virginia State Police and the FBI have a DNA match to whom  they believe is responsible for the assault and murder of Morgan Harrington after she was denied re-entry into a Metallica concert at John Paul Jones arena- which matches a composite sketch of an African American man also wanted for a sexual assault in 2005 in Fairfax,  sources inside Harrington’s unsolved murder case have confirmed that they have been asked to look into any similarities.

This is a developing story, please check back to blinkoncrime.com as more details become available.

August 25, 2013 at 9:46 am My original thought was there was no way that Taylor and his merry riff raff-ites could be involved with Morgan.

I can’t rule it out as I sit here and the truth is in a nearly 4 year old case it is protocol to rule it in ( find the connectors v follow the facts in evidence) as opposed to the exclusion method, and either I come up seeing some folks that percolated early on in MH’s case. I wonder if anyone has asked him.

I know it’s back to school, soccer and football season, the end of summer when everyone is uber busy – but I am encouraged that its been fairly quiet here….something is brewing, at least that is my hope and prayer. “Taylor and his merry band of riff-raff-ites” makes me think there is a real possibility that the connections are being made and maybe we will have resolution in Morgan’s case.

Looking at these 3 girls, Morgan, Samantha, and Alexis, we know that Samantha and Alexis have a connection. If Randy Taylor had nothing to do with Morgan, at the very least we have two killers trolling the same area. That is a scary thought. I hope and pray they can tie all three together.

The lack of recent news gives my mind a chance to wander and wonder. Right now I am thinking about the RATmobile. My initial thought is, why that kind of vehicle? I get it that he would need a vehicle capable of pulling a camper. A truck or a smaller, more economical SUV would seem to be the choice.

He either went with the bigger, 12 MPG vehicle for one of a few reasons.
    1. Concealing bad acts, where a pickup just will not hide the evil you are doing.
    2. He got an exceptional deal on it, softening the blow that keeping the tank full dealt him.
    3. He did not do his homework to find out that smaller, more economical SUV’s came with a towing capacity high enough to meet any needs he may have.
    4. The 4wd Suburban with the oversized mud grip tires is a large, stable vehicle that would not be prone to roll over or leave you stranded when accessing remote, rugged areas. His also has a lift kit installed to increase off road ground clearance.

Most serial type criminals are not affluent, yet tend to drive many miles. Maybe that is why his choice of the largest, gas-guzzling SUV bumfuzzles me. I reckon I will go with him getting a good deal on it, based on the lack of elegance displayed in the pictures I have seen of his residence.

Dates, times, and locations of his ping history may be his undoing.

This vehicle would be able to access the area where MH was found. I say this, knowing that VSP has said there is absolutely zero to connect RAT to the Shiny MH.

And last, I hated when his attorney said RAT bought weed from AM. This was a subliminal “blame the victim” strategy. Cheap, but effective. Never mind that she is/was a good student-athlete. Let’s use classic Joseph Goebbels strategy to make her another black drug dealer. We heard it early. That leaves often.

The familial DNA arrest definitely has nothing to do with Morgan, other than the fact that her case along with the east coast rapist help push the legislature to allow its use. The article indicated that case is already set for trial. They may not be disclosing what case it is to avoid publicity, but it won’t be a secret that the person, whoever it is, has been arrested and what for. It just must be a case that the public isn’t very interested in.

I doubt that taylor has ever had any cell phone other than the difficult to trace prepaid version. Doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would be on an extended plan.

Believe it or not, he was at one time, but I do agree now he would have either had to have a work phone (given by his employer, which I believe he had) or a prepaid.

Could Taylor have qualified for an “Obamaphone”? These seem easy to get and there are reports of multiple phones being acquired by some.

These are free phones with about 250 minutes of air time per month all paid by the tax on regular customers.

This case seems to be one that the courts and LE are keeping a lot of information hidden from the public. Probably with a very good reason.

  9. Olivia says:

I’ve been assuming that they found the phones of others (hidden?) on the property around his camper–Alexis or Samantha? But that would be pretty stupid of him. On the other hand, what if he has been doing this for decades and became an “expert” until newer technology (cell phones, surveillance cameras, etc.) caught him up.

“Lifeline” is a federal program which provides discounts, averaging $9.25 a month, on phone service to low income subscribers

Life line was before “life alert” yet Lifeline IS often a LIFE LINE for poor people – some elderly some with young children some looking for employment ect

Stop think Look around you- are there many Pay phones any more?

    With Lifeline for instance
Schools can get in touch with parents
Potential employers can get in contact with these jobseekers
Poor people can call for ambulances or police or they can call in tips that may aid in catching an actual criminal ….

    BTW-
    Lifeline,is NOT funded by taxes;
“it subsists on fees that are tacked on to most phone bills”
These subsidize a number of programs, not just Lifeline- but ALSO TO include telecommunications services to rural and remote areas and to schools and libraries.

Lifeline was started 25+ years ago-
under President Ronald Reagan not Obama
It was extended to include cell phones not under Obama but under the Presidency of G W Bush….

When implementing the program The FCC on Jan. 8, 1985 noted :
Phone service is “crucial to full participation in our society and economy”

Isnt it even more crucial today for this program to survive when there are even fewer payphones…more transient homeless, poor families unemployed and underemployed??

Has the lifeline program been misused by some?
    yes

    http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-04-09/politics/38405292_1_president-obama-obama-phone

    further snip
    :
“cellular providers, eager to collect a subsidy for each low-income subscriber, signed people up without verifying their eligibility.

Some recipients also snapped up multiple phones in violation of a one-per-household rule.”

    end snip

I think it is important for This federal program so aptly named “Lifeline” to continue

Its not merely a potential windfall for fraudulent criminals but an actual lifeline for some
It shouldnt be defined by a very wrong and misleading “nickname”

But there are many who live paycheck to paycheck that can not afford to do this.

Just a helpful suggestion in addition to teaching your loved ones to keep the gas tank above half a tank when able… perhaps also teach them how far the car can go with half a tank… a quarter tank ..How far it can actually go on E-

In my experience this info is sometimes just as helpful for a safety measure as keeping the tank near full…

I do agree Mom3.0 but my advice was in the context of Blinkette driving advice, which I should state that if she does not have the funds to keep the tank at half, she is not permitted to drive it, as I feel strongly about passing on my OCD in that area, lol.

I say this because when I was her age I ran out of gas at least 3x before the last time I called the house and pretended not to be and asked for my Dad formally- my Mom laughed and said to be clear this is the last time your Dad is bailing you out. You have that tank at anything other than half and you walk until you do. And I will be coming to get you, so get ready for the ride of shame. Not Dad’s go fill up, pick you up a Slurpee and send you back on your way. No Miss.

Occupational hazard- my fear about anyone, especially a young woman running out of gas, or having to fuel up late at night makes me pretty strict in that area.

I am not saying this is why he kept the phones but it is possible. The forensic evidence recovered from the phones, such as ownership, condition, suspected method of acquisition, age, etc will explain a lot. All these phones could be found, kidnapped, stolen, or just phones from old plans.

RAT drove a vehicle worth about 4k, tops. He lived in a very humble abode, but seemed to churn through an amassment of disposable income. One report said he worked at a car lot. Another said he was a repo man. Where was his expendable income derived from? Being the drug kingpin in a town of 520 people (2010 census) is not lucrative. Each hundred miles a week he drove cost $29, at $3.50 a gallon. Average driving habits would be about $85 a week in this vehicle. Serial criminals seem to drive more, trolling, observing, and prospecting for victims. 600 miles a week is $175. His vehicle choice made his pastime quite expensive. I don’t know why I am so fixated on his vehicle beyond feeling that it is very important. Potential witnesses would remember it easily. RAT’s crimes require some degree of stealth.

I am still just thinking out loud. I will temporarily stop now, leaving you with a cut and paste quote…

    Donkey: Hi, Princess!
    Princess Fiona: It talks!
Shrek: Yeah, it’s getting him to shut up that’s the trick!

He actually had two vehicles, his previous or simultaneous vehicle was a 1993 Grand marquis ( cop car) and I did notice some after-factory additions to both. He has a past conviction for illegal window tinting, and the suburban has a working spotlight on it ( like ahem, a LE vehicle. I thought the deer spotting thing in VA was illegal these days. I do recall that there was a sting looking for poachers a week or two after Morgan was missing, in Albemarle county.

I maintain there is more going on here than Alexis’s disappearance, jmho.

i was at my parents house this morning and my sister was sleeping. my 2 year old ran up to my sisters room to wake her up (haha) and when I went in to get my daughter, sitting on my sisters wall is the “aimee willard award” (it’s a sports award given out every year in our area for female athletes), which i noticed the second i walked in but hadn’t thought of in awhile. Aimee was murdered by a man, Arthur Bomar, who was impersonating a cop with his vehicle. I immediately thought of this case and possibly morgan’s. This would be a very easy way to lure a young woman. Maybe the last alleged sighting of morgan on copeley bridge is accurate and this is how she was lured? Maybe RAT did something similar with alexis and once she pulled onto 29, he had her pull over on a side road? I dunno, the only problem with that, would be I would think she would recognize his car especially since I don’t think it was dark out yet. anyway, maybe i’m trying too hard to find a connection where there is none.

i followed morgan’s case so closely, and the Harrington’s words have gripped me to my core. I still think about the “Shiny Girl” and have the harrington family’s names in my “prayer jar” along with the Murphy’s. If RAT has an accomplice, wouldn’t it be in his best interests to turn this person or persons in?

Good catch on the spotlight. I saw the two aftermarket lights on the bumper but missed the spotlight. I now reckon his SUV purchase was from a government auction. He did not install a winch so I am thinking he did not install the spotlight. Most of his Suburban upgrades are designed to facilitate remaining mobile in an off the pavement situation. For either hunting or victim disposal, getting stuck in the mud would not be convenient.

Poachers have firearms. Convicted felons are not supposed to. Nothing made the news about any weapons charges for him… so far. That being said, there is a poster at The Hook that claims to have seen him in the dark on the side of the road with headlights off and bumper spots on. This was on Plank Road off of 29 about three miles west of Anchorage farm. This same poster spewed some unintelligible drivel that I interpreted to be related to AM about looking in the orchard for her. I totally blew that off until I saw an Orchard Street on the map, spitting distance south of his house, off of 29.

A deer spotting, or jacklighting, sting would be initiated by someone seeing someone else doing it, followed by a call to report it. Someone saw something. A paper trail was generated.

I agree that more is going on. They have a large pile of twos that they are sorting, then adding toward fours. Unfortunately, while I was born and you were not when Doritos were invented, neither one of us can say why the last few cups of chips at the bottom of the bag are always broken into chip shrapnel.

Not sure if you read the coverage re him and his arrests in Greene County that were thrown out last year- a pistol was found in his vehicle but he said he had never seen it. He did not know he was a suspect then, so I tend to believe it was his.

I can’t shake the associations he has, his background, and the ones I am not prepared to publish just yet.

One thing that continues to bother me. He claimed in the hook interview he lost his job due to police harrassment. However, they put his GPS in the safe and would not return it until Super Snead showed up. Now, I am no genius (I heard that, lol) but if I were fired by my employer, why are they protecting me fresh outta the pokey?

Something wrong with those apples, imo.

The suburban that is shown in the photo would not be worth more than $2,000 even with the lifts. This vehicle will get 25 mpg on the highway because of a 4 speed transmission. There were suburbans produced that had 450 cu. in. engines, but most were 360 cu. in. and a very good gear ratio for the rear axel. I drove a suburban similar to that one for fifteen years. The gas tank is 28 gal. With a proper hitch, it will tow about 8,000 lb. With the third seat removed there is room for a person 6 ft. to stretch out and sleep. It will carry about 500 lbs of cargo on the heavy duty springs. If Air over hydraulic shocks are installed in the rear, they can be used to level the vehicle under heavy loads. This guy has some knowledge of auto mechanics and could make most of those changes himself.

The Mercury Grand Marquis is built on a Lincoln chassis and body and uses the same engine as the Lincoln. The hood, fenders and trunk deck are the body parts that are changed. Some of the interiors such as the Grand Marquis are the same materials found in a Lincoln. These are wonderful vehicles to drive on the highway. I have put about a half million miles on two of them.

RAT knows how to pick vehicles that will be tough and long lasting

I have never seen a Ford made law enforcement vehicle that was a Grand Marquis. They are usually made with an extra heavy frame that matches the large ford sedan so that all body parts are not special. Engines are blue-printed and tested for long hours of operation. The radiators are larger to keep the engine cool. Heat and friction is the destroyer of engines.

    Mom3.0

As usual your ideas about what a new driver should know are right on the mark. In planning a trip, I plan for the exact town where the tank will be refilled. Every vehicle is unique regarding just how far a tank of gas will get you. Small cars have small tanks and the mileage is dependent on the load and skills of the driver as well as the type of terrain being driven.

My list is probably a lot longer than Blinks regarding things one should know and do to keep the vehicle in good shape and how to drive safely. My girls were made to raise the hood and learn the name and location of all the parts that could be serviced. They also had to learn to drive a standard transmission and use only the right foot for gas and brake. It is amazing how much longer brake shoes and pads last when that skill is learned.

  16. Red Ranger says:

So if I drive to VA with 100 lbs. of cocaine and a nuke in my car and am caught with it, all I have to do is say it is not mine? Then I just ease on down the road? A convicted felon in possession of a firearm should not have been cruising around for victims. He should have been pacing back and forth, 9 feet each way, at the Graybar hotel.

I am assuming this arrest you speak of is the one where he followed it up with a trip to the newspaper office to cry about his treatment. I did not remember reading about a firearms violation with that arrest. So much reading, declining retention.

The guys that hid the LE GPS for him…. Were they unaware of what a GPS is? GPS wins at Hide and Seek every time.

One other thing missing from this case is the plethora of friends and neighbors proclaiming what a nice, normal, and helpful puppy-rescue artist he was.

Allegedly, the GPS was found post arrest for a DUI, expired registration, felony firearm and i think weed. The claim was that Taylor found it after he bonded out ( who posted that again??)

So if it was in place before , and I believe it led to his arrest, it makes no sense whatsoever why anyone would get in the way of that. ESPECIALLY since they already knew he was a suspect in a disappearance, no?

I did write about the “Obamaphone” program. Obama didn’t start the program. He just got tagged with the name when the large transition to wireless phones was made beginning with a subsidiary of TracFone in the state of Tennessee.

You are correct that the costs have been mandated since the communications act of 1934 and restated in the communications act of 1996. The original concept was to make telephone service available to rural areas, schools and medical facilities. There is a special corporation to which the phone companies and internet companies pay a prescribed amount depending on their capital investment in physical plant, mostly land lines and fiber systems.

In Texas, following the communications act of 1996, a fee was mandated by the state of one dollar to each subscriber per month to be collected by the phone companies to pay to a fund known as the Texas Internet Infrastructure Fund. This is a direct tax on the subscriber. It was intended to fund outside plant and building plant to deliver internet access to schools, libraries and hospitals.

The universal service fund beginning in the 1930′s was a direct tax on the phone companies for specific facilities to serve rural areas and those that lacked funds to pay for phone service. Both the communications act of 1934 and 1996 made passing this cost to the individual customer and option. Most phone companies chose to pass it through. Therefore, the tax is passed through where companies choose to do so.

The Federal Government has chosen to take our tax dollars to supplement the wireless phones. At the present time the costs are around 2 billion dollars per year. This is a tax on everyone plus a tax on individual subscribers where the costs are passed through.

I looked up the qualifications for the federal wireless phones and found that anyone making less than 150% of the Federal determined poverty level will qualify for them. Mr. Taylor may qualify for such a program. The original air time on wireless phones was 70 minutes, but has been increased with the Federal Government picking up, with our tax dollars, the additional cost.

I was manager of communications and control systems for a division of the company for which I worked prior to retirement.

I definitely agree that there is more than one interpretation of the GPS withholding by the employer. I just see someone like RT using his “second chance” schtick to elicit sympathy and manipulate people. But my interpretation is jaded by my recent dealings with a person of this ilk—they reveal most of their troubles but always have an excuse to explain the “persecution” by other people. He did say he lost his job there and the reporting is unclear on when that occurred, if it did in fact occur. Perhaps they protected him to a point and then cut him loose. All of that said, I certainly hope the employer or a fellow employee with access to the safe is not complicit in a more substantial manner which is certainly another interpretation. I would like to know more information on the GPS issue because I think it is very important.
    @Mosaic
Rt 29 is the main highway (non-interstate) that runs from Northern Virginia to Danville. In Charlottesville, it is the main commercial drag: it runs through UVA, has all of the box stores, movie theatres, the mall, miles of strip shopping centers, etc. It has a high volume of traffic and is virtually impossible to avoid in day to day life.

Actually his employer putting the gps in the safe makes perfect sense if you read the story behind it. It seems that Taylor was being followed around by people who did not resemble LE in any form. Therefore, when they came by Taylor’s place of employment and said they wanted the gps back the employees made sure the shady looking folks had LE with them. I’m not sure if Snead was one of them or not. It has nothing to do with manipulation, and everything too do with seeing who is/was tracking him. This was nothing but horrendous practices dome by LE and their inept plain clothes team are idiots for playing their hand. If the LE officers wouldn’t have cut Taylor’s lights (so he claims) he wouldn’t have searched his car with a fine tooth comb.

as Id hate for these people to put in a category with a criminal or bad “type” of person- simply because they have bad credit or arent rich enough to have a fancy phone plan or arent poor enough to qualify for Lifeline help….
redly, as always great to talk with you

DDA youre so welcome and thanks for letting me know my post helped you.

TGF, Hi, thanks for always expanding my knowledge or as J2K would have said *the more you Know*

I am glad to spur your further reading TGF I hope our discussion of the lifeline program was beneficial to others as well

IRT whether or not Taylor would qualify IDK
To me, Taylor doesnt necessarily seem to be poor…
    – someone who is actually poor couldnt afford to gas up that gashog Camo Suburban & couldnt afford to spend 60 bucks on weed and wouldnt be spending their money on frequent rented porn- ….

    no
theyd buy a 12 pack of cheap beer & a pack of cheap cigs maybe- then excuse my language theyd “get off” without the aid of expensive vids and later on they may entertain the hope of selling that awesome SUV-

-TGF thanks so much for acknowledging my tips on the car/driving- i have no doubt you could write a book with all the tips you have tried and tested over the years.

Tango- hey Im sorry you feel my contributions of late are wasting brain power-
No one was arguing political semantics Tango.
    My post wasnt political
I simply took the opportunity to share some facts i knew to be true with my friend TGF-who BTW appreciated my efforts as I hope others learned something from our exchange as well

To be clear, Ofcourse President Obama was okay with the new healthcare plan being nicknamed Obama care- as he championed the cause.

Clearly that is much different than what happened IRT lifeline and the misleading nickname

Im sorry my informative posts offended you
Perhaps it would have helped if I remembered to write OT

i realize you are worried about Alexis -we all are.

How do you propose WE find Alexis?

I am still scratching my head over how LE hopes to find her….
why did LE and the FBI arrest Taylor before they knew where Alexis was or whether or not Taylor had accomplices….up until at least the 17th of this month LE was still saying they believed Alexis to be alive…

Alive where? Alone? With cornrow where?

Taylor is being held until Jan.. we only have some vague hints of the evidence against him and it seems hes in jail
yet still we have no Alexis and no concrete info

    The Info is sealed
    not much to go on
So again I ask how do we go about finding her?

    Peace

Tango , not Mom 3.0, but wanted to let you know that was a very kind and respectful apology.

So Blink, was RAT a rat?

You don’t avoid the kind of prison time and convictions he has been facing since at least 1985 by keeping your mouth shut.

No freaking way. Yes, he is a chatty cathy when he has to be. I think that has everything to do with the sealed warrants.

just a snip to be compliant~~

    B. In making its finding, the court shall determine whether or not the accused is a current recipient of a state or federally funded public assistance program for the indigent. If the accused is a current recipient of such a program and does not waive his right to counsel or retain counsel on his own behalf, he shall be presumed eligible for the appointment of counsel. This presumption shall be rebuttable where the court finds that a more thorough examination of the financial resources of the defendant is necessary. If the accused shall claim to be indigent and is not presumptively eligible under the provisions of this section, then a thorough examination of the financial resources of the accused shall be made with consideration given to the following:

    1. The net income of the accused, which shall include his total salary and wages minus deductions required by law. The court also shall take into account income and amenities from other sources including but not limited to social security funds, union funds, veteran’s benefits, other regular support from an absent family member, public or private employee pensions, dividends, interests, rents, estates, trusts, or gifts.

So- I would think he would be eligible for a “free-phone” by whatever name.

He’s a snitch. He isn’t well liked by some of bad people. He knows quite a few bad people, probably, and those types often brag about the bad stuff they do. He is wily enough to grab some potential DNA evidence and plant it where he commits his crimes. Maybe keeps it around in case he needs it? He strikes me as being quite bold and sees himself as quite brilliant. All IMO

Blink this is off topic. Please delete if you feel necessary. I am wondering if you have any thoughts on David Camm, the former Indiana State Trooper whose wife and 2 children were murdered 13 years ago in their garage? This happened just a few miles from my house. Unbelievably he is currently in his 3rd trial for the crime having successfully appealed the 2 previous guilty verdicts. Any thoughts?

Great Question, cannot comment on that case publicly whatsoever. I will say this, as a response to public info on available.

If I were a prosecutor who had my case overturned 2x, and I was barred from the 3rd- I would be embarrassed to sign a book deal that did not start with “How I got my ass handed to me and why you dolts should pay for my humiliation by reading about it”.

Freezes my shorts the amount of ego that has nothing to do with justice or advocacy.

I am going to put a twist on the phone purchase thinking. I use a 3G TracFone because we live in an area where cell towers are too far away to be reliable. I tried the plans from Verizon without success. A prepaid phone then becomes a portable phone that is useful in areas where towers are better spaced. TracFone uses the Verizon towers on a paid contract. There are many in our area who do the same.

Five years ago Verizon promised to build a 1,000 ft. tower and leased a parcel of land. To date no construction. I have since found out that the budget money for that construction was transferred to a project in Dallas to bring fiber optic cable to homes in that city. It always comes back to return on investment. The potential for a larger ROI drove the decision. Living in the country has its pluses, but you often give up things that urban areas have.

I am as usual doubtful that Virginia LE will find Alexis. They didn’t find Morgan because they did not IMO properly engage the public. It was a total accident that Morgan was found. If the storms had not damaged trees and fences land owners would not have been out checking.

I was hopeful that with the FBI involvement there could be a quick recovery, but so far little information and no recovery.

It appears that RAT has a long relationship with LE that allowed him to live on the fringe of society despite his sometimes stepping over the line. Who knows other than LE at this point what he may be involved in regarding criminal activity.

I definitely have not seen that level of detail or description of shady folks following RT in the media. Can you link the article where you read that? I must have missed it and it would be helpful to read. The articles I have read seem to have described that LE showed up with credentials and asked for the GPS back, and the employer said no until a second visit by Sheriff Snead.

Blink Ill take your interpretation of tangos post as perhaps i am just overly sensitive as of late, and sensing snark where there is none.

hi Tango thanks for the apology JFTR i never thought you were questioning my “vast” knowledge of anything, I mean how could you as i am ever so knowledgeable… LOL no worries though
no apology necessary – every post I write cant be a winner- and I agree perhaps my posts are a bit too “vast” and off topic

Eloise – Since noone has really been able to verify where taylor worked (varying info) nor what his income was or if he was paid under the table etc – I would venture a guess that it was easy for him to qualify for a court appointed attorney.

In one article it shows his income as 0 across the board…

Casey Anthony was indigent as was jodi arias and just about every other defendant that i can think of sans celebs…

Even those who are big time drug dealers would be able to qualify as I sincerely doubt they are claiming any of their income you know– yet i am sure they are far from poor KWIM?

You are correct just as TGF wrote Taylor may have qualified for the lifeline program – IDK

It seems for a household of 1, a person living in Virginia can make up to 15,512 dollars and potentially qualify

He also could qualify if he was a recipient of SSI or a veteran or on food stamps or LEAP, or medicaid

Seeing as he ran an extension cord from the house to his trailer i would think IF he qualified for the program, he would opt for a cell over a landline…

If he was using a lifeline cell- and committing crimes such as drug deals and abductions and worse…than He is truly brazen – but if everything we have been led to believe is true- IRT Samantha and his Hook debut— then we already knew he was bolder than most and he knows how to use the system and people to his benefit.

TGF great thoughts – some people also choose to have the phones because they dont want to get caught up in year/S long contracts or they are just thrifty.

IRT your thoughts on the FBI I too felt that was a hopeful sign.. I dont know what to think now. IIRC one of the early articles quoted the FBIs involvement over “family ties” I have no idea what that means exactly, other than to assume it means someone in Alexis’ family has FBI connections??- But that is only my assumption and nothing more

Still Part of the reason noted for the sealing of documents/evidence was the fact that 3 or more jurisdictions/ LE departments are involved in the case.

So many dept. involved worries me as it reminds me of too many hands in the pot and Morgans case- who is in charge and are they working together or not… is it all just too much?

    Still hoping and praying

RAT paid for his videos on Aug 3 with a $100 bill.

Did he use cash so his purchase would be more discreet? (Although LE already knew exactly what he had purchased when they went into the store to request the surveillance video)

Or did he use cash because that’s how he typically gets paid?

  42. Tango says:

    Blink,
Thank you but Mom3.0 is correct. My “apology” above was nothing of the sort. I felt that it was unnecessary for Mom3.0 to call me out after I expressed my opinion about the phone discussion, and there was some snark dished up in her post to me. HOWEVER, I do at this time SINCERELY apologize, Mom. I could offer a bunch of excuses, this, that and the other, but I hope you do accept that I am sorry…not for my original post because I do think I had the right to express my opinion, but for coming back at you and continuing the argument. It’s not how I want to be and I truly TRULY am sorry.

    Ok.

I appreciate that. Apparently, I also owe Mom 3.0 an apology for not hearing/seeing my snark alarm.

How did you determine that Taylor paid for the videos with a $100 bill?

People who wish to hide their sources of income and the amount will often work where they can be paid in cash. This is outside the normal method of payment for the present time. He could have been cleaning up the places where he worked and allowed to sell the scrap metal as a part of payment. Scrap yards always pay in cash unless it is a bid deal for major dollars. Or, he may be involved in selling drugs.

When I was growing up, few companies paid by check, it was always cash. The federal taxes and state taxes have made it necessary to show these deductibles to the employee. Otherwise, it would be double work to have a pay envelope for cash and then have to keep a set of books showing all deductions.

It appears that Taylor had been followed by undercover LE for quite some time. How else would they have known what he was doing regarding the video? Did they also observe what he was doing at the gas station where Alexis purchased gas? The gps project is evidence of LE trying to know where he was at all times.

Did LE use him as a snitch and then discover that their snitch was into much more serious criminal activity than they realized? This would be a major reason to keep everything locked down until time for court. Will this aid in the recovery of Alexis? Maybe and maybe not.

It is my understanding LE found the receipts for the videos…and that Taylor was a regular at the gas station and at the xxx store-

if this is correct i have to wonder why he would take the chance of abducting Alexis as surely his truck and he were easily remembered….
I dont know was it a total crime of happenstance or was it planned for a while..

This article says Alexis was wearing a red sweater and they found a red sweater in the river. It was pulled from the river and placed in an evidence bag. If it turns out to be Alexis’ sweater, it would strike me as more than a coincidence that Morgans tee shirt turned up on a bush during her search.

I am somewhat confused. The Richmond Paper is stating that a red sweater was found in Rockfish River in Nelson Co. yesterday. On the news at 11:00- wwbt12,they told of the search in Nelson Co. yesterday and said nothing was found. Within 5 minutes they had breaking news that a red sweater was found. I see no where in the nelson county newspaper of a sweater being found today. Not sure what is going on. As far as the color of the sweater she was wearing, I will have to go back and research that.
