Kyron Horman Missing Case: Terri Horman Breaks Her Silence In People Magazine Interview

New York, NY-  For nearly five and a half years Terri Horman has refused to speak publicly about her step-sons case.  Outside of one assertion of her innocence while on the stand in a name change hearing she ultimately was denied, Horman did not speak to any reporters or answer any of their questions regarding Kyron Hormans disappearance. Until Now.

Horman courtesy of People

Horman was interviewed by People Magazines Elaine Aradillas for both the print and online editions,  and will be doing a series of personal interviews over the next week, to include wwww.blinkoncrime.com.

In the brief online video excerpt , the second part to air on ABC’s Good Morning America Friday morning,  Horman  maintains she is deaf in her left ear, a critical factor in the outcome of her first polygraph.

“… At what point are Kyron’s biological parents going to realize I don’t have the answers, they need to change this thing around…”

“…There is so much the public is not being told about this investigation, that’s why I am doing this- nobody is looking for Kyron…”

Horman’s interview drew sharp reactions from Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, Kyron’s parents.

“…Why is she silent for 5 1/2 years if she is innocent.  I want her to tell me where Kyron is.  If she is innocent she should call Multnomah County Sheriffs Office and sit down for an interview…”-  Desiree Young

“Hi friends. Yes I am well aware of the tabloid journalism piece in the media today. FYI – there will be more of the same coming Friday
We have a HOST of MCSO and FBI investigators STILL standing by with interviews and polygraphs when someone actually wants to cooperate. FEEL FREE TO STOP BY THEY ARE WAITING!! STILL!! Until then we’ll stick with the scores of people with valid/accurate information and the failed polygraphs as the only actual actions taken to-date.  To all of you: how about not linking the article/interview?
REMEMBER KYRON?!?!? This is what we need to be focused on!!
Love you Kyron!!” – Kaine Horman post on his Facebook Page

Christina Stoy, www.blinkoncrime.com Editor In Chief was able to confirm with Ms. Horman directly that she has been willing to meet with Kyron’s investigators both previously and in the future with the sole provision that it be conducted in the presence of her Attorney,  Portland criminal defense lawyer Stephen Houze.

Horman went on to say that investigators with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office have been well aware of “that” over the last five and a half years and they have never requested an interview.  Um, What?

Horman reveals some shocking details about the subsequent polygraphs examinations referenced by Kaine Horman and Desiree Young and other allegations of improper tactics on behalf of MCSO in the second half of her interview to air tomorrow morning on abc’s GMA and on Nightline.

The problem with government employees and technology is management and unions. Management often does not understand technology at the level required and the union work rules get in the way. If management does not recognize how to use the technology, they are not going to push employees to put in the effort to learn and to offer them the time and training. Technology requires constant learning in order to stay up to date.

Systems analysis of work structures are lacking and often flawed.

Interest in technology in this country began with a few individuals of the generation born between 1910 and 1920. My generation followed with about thirty percent being interested and doing something about it. This resulted in the proliferation of small computers (mini-computers) and the development of solid state electronics. Like the pyramids, electronics must rest on the achievements of previous work to build a knowledge base.

Our school systems are failing the people at the k-12 level which translates into college students being unprepared to actually do work at that level without make-up classes.

We have college students with degrees that know less than an eighth grade student of one hundred years ago. Just watch the responses that Jessie Waters of Fox gets when he visits college campuses and asks questions.

I think it’s kinda interesting from erose’s WW link that zero hours were spent by Rees/Woods on Kyron’s during the week of June 23 to 30, and Frinks hours went down as well. Wasn’t the sting on June 26?

Krohn’s hours are the only one’s that increased that period, from 8 hours to 88 hours and Thompson’s/Larson close to the same as prior period. Makes one wonder what exactly Krohn was working on after the sting doesn’t it?

I wish WW would publish the whole 2010 hours spent by all departments on Kyron’s case. It appears the link no longer works for the MCSO portion of Pitkin’s report. Is that information out there somewhere ,did the link ever work? I don’t remember. Clicking on “Cost his office” takes one to a 404 not found error.

Thank you mbs. So a PPB detective can retire at 50 with 25 years?
And does DA investigator fit within the hours exception as a highly skilled job?
    ————————————
    @Rose – Yes.
I don’t see a specific answer to your second question, but here are a few more related explanations: I don’t think the DA investigator fits as a highly skilled job (meaning hard to find other candidates).

Most exceptions are written for people who would work in a county with a population of 15,000 or 30,000 or 75,000 or less, for example. Another exception is for people who are filling in for a National Guard member on active duty, or for people who teach certain shop skills – but these have an expiration date.

I’m not sure if the investigators are appointed or go through a hiring process. My guess would be they are invited to take that position, but I’m not sure.

“If you are a Tier One or Tier Two retiree who is an elected or appointed official, your employment is NOT subject to the 1,040-hour limitation. Instead, your retirement benefits cease once you take office and will not be paid for your entire term of office. Once the term is over, you may re-apply for benefits. The benefits will be re-computed based on your age, account balance, and other calculation factors in effect at the time you re-retire. If you are an elected or appointed official who is a retired Tier One or Tier Two member, you may elect to become an active a Tier One or Tier Two member by giving the PERS Board written notice within 30 days after taking office. This election is irrevocable during the term of
office for which the election is made. Even if you do not make this election, your retirement benefits will still cease unless you qualify for the exception below.”
    —————————-
So your benefits stop while you receive your salary, but when you retire for the second time, your benefits are computed again including your new information. This would probably benefit most people, especially if your salary went up at all after the first retirement.

There are certain “invisible pathways” that people seem to follow to get the most out of their retirement plans. Not only do the pathways have to be there (read “legal”), but the people and the process both have to be in place to get you into whatever nest step you want to take – compared to any others who want to do the same thing. Some school district staff would, for example, retire on the magic day (Feb. something, I think) and then be rehired as a sub to finish the year in your own job with the additional pay but stay within the work hour limit. I didn’t particularly think that was fair to taxpayers. I did not do that, but I did take on brief emergency assignments for pay in later years – such as going through cum files damaged by water leaks and preparing them for a company to restore off site. (I was certified to handle the confidential records.)

I know about the school district, but I’m sure there are other PERS jobs where the same sort of “opportunities” are found. I think I would mostly fault the legislature because they make the rules and should protect the public’s money.

This guy. As I recall within the report Lamb stated the report was requested by the inspector. On the MCSO org chart that is Gossen.

7from katu.com this morning – our Attorney Houze at work in eastern Oregon.

I wonder why he took the case and what formerly undiagnosed mental health issue would make a difference in this sex abuse case?
    (article)
A former Madras High School coach has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse for having a relationship with a 17-year-old boy on the track team.

The Bulletin reports that 45-year-old Melissa Bowerman of Fossil was sentenced to five years of probation Monday.

During probation, her internet usage will be restricted and she’s not allowed to contact males under age 18, except family members. A violation could land Bowerman in prison for up to 1 1/2 years.

She will also have to register as a sex offender.

Bowerman did not make a statement at the hearing. Her attorney, Stephen Houze, says therapy has been “very valuable” for Bowerman. He says she had a previously undiagnosed mental health condition.
    ———————————————–

OK. Forget the question I had about why Houze took the case. (read on if interested)

Oregonian in July of 2015 says:
    (snipped)
A year ago Tuesday, Melissa Bowerman was arrested at her home in Fossil and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on felony charges of second-degree sexual abuse, second-degree online sexual corruption, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and attempting to lure a minor.

The basic facts of the case were sensational enough in a small central Oregon community (or in Portland, for that matter): Bowerman, 44, was the Madras High School head track coach and the alleged victim, then 17, was one of her athletes.
Melissa Bowerman But Bowerman’s last name pushed the case even higher into the headlines. Bowerman is married to Jon Bowerman, 77, the eldest of three sons of Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman.

Melissa Bowerman stayed 26 days in the jail in Madras, until August 15 last year, when Jon Bowerman finally deposited $5,000 for her bail. (He had originally said he had no plans to bail her out.)
Asked if a yearlong wait for a trial on a case such as Bowerman’s was normal, Jefferson County District Attorney Steven Leriche said Monday that the complexity of a case is usually the determining factor. And in this case, he said, Bowerman changed attorneys.

. . . Bowerman’s court-appointed attorney until March 3, when she was replaced by high-profile Portland defense attorney Stephen Houze. He is not a court-appointed lawyer.

In addition to the Jefferson County case, Bowerman also faces two separate charges of second-degree sexual abuse in Deschutes County, a case Leriche filed earlier this month. The case involves the same alleged victim in incidents that took place in the same time frame as the Jefferson County case, and it was not clear Monday why the additional charges had been filed. A hearing in the newer case is scheduled for Sept. 2 in the Deschutes County Courthouse in Bend.

If that happened to one of my children when they were little, someone would be looking to be in court for kidnapping.

If the Portland schools all exhibit such poor thinking and acting, it is little wonder that little Kyron was missing for most of the day without notification to the parents. The entire school administration needs to be forced to attend classes on proper thinking and behavior towards the students in their care.

It is such an egregious breach- in every way. If true- for the principal to be pushing back on the Mom is outrageous.

The court attempting to force Apple via an illegal order to build a way for the FBI to access any Apple phone is simply Fasicism. The government under our Constitution is not allowed to take such acts. If the people allow any division of government to overstep their bounds, then they place themselves at risk for destruction of the rule of law and its consequences.

6/13 When the Internal Affairs and Inspections were reorganized as announced by Harry Smith, 6/13, see Significant Program Changes at bottom.
Internal Affairs and Inspections were combined from two positions (eliminating one–my money’s on Gossun) to create a new Lt position handling both ostensibly “Corrections Admin.” Now that was baloney because Internal Affairs handles Patrol and Enforcement deputues as well. These Commissioners, and that oft high Cogen, could not read Staton’s budgets to understand when Staton eliminated a position it was to rid himself of people like Gossun, Lamb, Yankee, and so on.

And yes Blink Staton did ask for $200,000 at one point for Training saying it was unbudgeted.

In the verbiage about Troutdale absorption it mentioned the 4 yr degree is only
required for NEW mcso hires. All Troutdale was grandfathered as needed.

Correct, I noted that. However my interest lies in how that requirement has and is applied. It is unique at the patrol level.
