Kyron Horman Missing Case: Terri Horman Breaks Her Silence In People Magazine Interview

New York, NY-  For nearly five and a half years Terri Horman has refused to speak publicly about her step-sons case.  Outside of one assertion of her innocence while on the stand in a name change hearing she ultimately was denied, Horman did not speak to any reporters or answer any of their questions regarding Kyron Hormans disappearance. Until Now.

Horman courtesy of People

Horman was interviewed by People Magazines Elaine Aradillas for both the print and online editions,  and will be doing a series of personal interviews over the next week, to include wwww.blinkoncrime.com.

In the brief online video excerpt , the second part to air on ABC’s Good Morning America Friday morning,  Horman  maintains she is deaf in her left ear, a critical factor in the outcome of her first polygraph.

“… At what point are Kyron’s biological parents going to realize I don’t have the answers, they need to change this thing around…”

“…There is so much the public is not being told about this investigation, that’s why I am doing this- nobody is looking for Kyron…”

Horman’s interview drew sharp reactions from Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, Kyron’s parents.

“…Why is she silent for 5 1/2 years if she is innocent.  I want her to tell me where Kyron is.  If she is innocent she should call Multnomah County Sheriffs Office and sit down for an interview…”-  Desiree Young

“Hi friends. Yes I am well aware of the tabloid journalism piece in the media today. FYI – there will be more of the same coming Friday
We have a HOST of MCSO and FBI investigators STILL standing by with interviews and polygraphs when someone actually wants to cooperate. FEEL FREE TO STOP BY THEY ARE WAITING!! STILL!! Until then we’ll stick with the scores of people with valid/accurate information and the failed polygraphs as the only actual actions taken to-date.  To all of you: how about not linking the article/interview?
REMEMBER KYRON?!?!? This is what we need to be focused on!!
Love you Kyron!!” – Kaine Horman post on his Facebook Page

Christina Stoy, www.blinkoncrime.com Editor In Chief was able to confirm with Ms. Horman directly that she has been willing to meet with Kyron’s investigators both previously and in the future with the sole provision that it be conducted in the presence of her Attorney,  Portland criminal defense lawyer Stephen Houze.

Horman went on to say that investigators with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office have been well aware of “that” over the last five and a half years and they have never requested an interview.  Um, What?

Horman reveals some shocking details about the subsequent polygraphs examinations referenced by Kaine Horman and Desiree Young and other allegations of improper tactics on behalf of MCSO in the second half of her interview to air tomorrow morning on abc’s GMA and on Nightline.

    ——————————-
    @Rose –
NOBODY with even a hint of questionable ethics or practices would want to work with him. He was always fair and judged his own actions by the same standard. Involved with organizations which served kids. Sometimes played guitar and sang to raise money for them. Almost nobody wanted to lose him, but the city council had given the city manager the power to control the budget and number of hires and Jordan disagreed with the cuts, with good reason. Some of the council wanted to fire the manager, but they couldn’t afford it because they had let him write his own renewal contract and would have had to pay him a many thousands of dollars plus hire someone new.
So they lost a great chief instead.

I wish, boy do I wish, that someone somewhere, maybe the state level, had the power to appoint him as special investigator for Kyron. I confess I would be worried about his safety though.

He said awhile ago he was looking at retiring this year to run for the Gresham CC seat. Imo only the Yankee et al scandals stopped him. He never planned to go to 2017 until he was forced to.

Love it. Maybe we’ll finally be able to see who is behind the door, and which witch is which?

I wonder why there has not been a book written on this case? Seriously, how many books were written on other yet unsolved cases which were far less complicated than this one? I guess it’s because of the extremely limited information that was offered by LE in the first place, but for me, that oddity is the beginning of book to begin with.

    Thanks MbS for the links.

he strength of the evidence against Lloyd and Richard Welch is unclear, and the case appears to be in limbo for the time being. But the question remains, why was a young man that admitted to being at the mall, closely resembled one of the suspect composites, and failed a polygraph dismissed at the beginning of the investigation? Why did it take forty years to become interested in him again? My best guess is that someone with influence in the department decided back in 1975 that Welch couldn’t have pulled off this kind of crime. A dutiful detective back in the day made some kind of note next to Welch’s name in the report, maybe something as simple as “no” or “eliminated.” Years went by and the original team of detectives retired, or died, or forgot altogether why it was the unkempt kid didn’t raise more flags. Especially in the early days of the highly publicized case, when phones were ringing and tips flying, the Welch lead got buried and overlooked.

I snipped this part of her blog because it reminded me of the current

Not suggesting anything, but questioning everything. I could be wrong but I seem to recall a friend of TMH’s saying at one point, she (TMH) thought the Sheriff was on her side, or some such. Blink can ask TMH if she ever felt that way.

I just feel that there some people involved in this case who do not want their backgrounds revealed at any cost, even Kyron’s.

Why? IDK, but just a feeling.

@cd. With time, Federal regulation of social media will come.
We regulate banks, schools, buying and
selling (wrt fraud), the airwaves (fcc), the stock exchanges, and so on.
Right now there’s a big regulation vacuum wrt
    large-scale social media content providers.

I will comment on this “generally”. Many sites run by SG have been removed by FB. When a FB user intending to use the site to harass, defame, stalk, etc, in conjunction with calling on others to do the same as well as escalate to other criminal activity- they choose a category that is typically monitored by bots. What I learned recently is that in cases where a FB site (especially a “community”) is being used in this way- is that FB receives a standard investigative subpoena for the site in question, to include all PM’s (everyone knows you cant really delete them, right?) based on the allegation and the users are not told- no expectation of privacy. This also allows information for access info- which provides the burden of jurisdiction and access. If one notices, the references to 1-800- the lost have been removed, and the stated request for tips email is the same as the go fund me. So then there is the next obvious question- are the fundraising events funding this activity?

Then you have this other “call to action” within that community or a FB in one’s name posting on a Business/employer website with the express purpose to humiliate, harass, stalk, interfere with duties, ability to earn an income, disrupt business and health services to other patients.

AND the chief individual inciting this activity is doing so by stating complete fabrication as truth and quoting posts by both recipients (alleged) of go fund me.

  9. Rose says:

Actually, Underhill and Kafoury have proven adept at joint letterwriting.
If they want to put the final nail in Staton’s coffin, they merely need to write Staton and the FBI jointly requesting
    1) The FBI’s NCAVC (not the local field office nor the West CARD, both in on the original mess) do a thorough review of the mcso investigation into the Horman kidnapping and
    2) the Sheriff’s Dept fully cooperate in view of the massive County taxpayer funds expended.
    https://m.fbi.gov/#https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/investigate/vc_majorthefts/cac/non-family-abductions
Rod and Kafoury have the power to write that letter and publicize it.

You mean, TRuth, that MKH FB is ALSO being used by the gofundme acct owners to get “tips” to plan their Terri-litter searches?

What bummed me was the employers directly targeted in Terri’s case and DDS served the ill, the disabled, health care–in Terri’s case vulnerable populations. @T. Ruth – This makes sense to me. My question is why, then, are these people’s backgrounds so hard for us to discover? Well, it seems we have no competent LE investigators, no hired Private Investigator, no true, talented, and professional journalists, apparently no ex-friends, family, or colleagues willing to “spill the beans”, and no related paperwork trail on any level.

Most of what we know has come from public legal documents, Google-type research, Blink investigations – things of this type, as far as I know. I’m surprised we have any information at all, but I’m proud of how hard we’ve worked.

Staton owns it now and there is no logical way to absolve himself of the deed. This guy should never have been promoted beyond a patrol officer. River patrol is where he belongs.

This is definitely a lesson in the problem areas with LE career path in MCSO. You would think with that history they would learn a lesson, ever.

thank you lyla; a very disturbing article.

It was a foregone conclusion then & now imo at the time Underhill & Kafoury asked for an Ellen review that Staton had
violated no criminal laws. (Otherwise Underhill woukd’ve dispatched his own investigators, convened a Grand Jury, and proceeded to indictment.)
    —-
So granted internals (Unions, tort filer deputies) and externals (press, Commissioners) see he is several cards short of playing with a full deck, and it is hurting mcso mgmt, morale, & budget.

But, unrecognized is Skipper chose to name a severely injured man whom he now wants out for health reasons, and Staton & his associates are in denial of his apparent cognitive disabilities secondary to an on job meth lab injury. I fault his mother, sister, wife for not forcing on him the workup & treatment he needs. Anyone with frontal lobe injury will deny he needs help.

I do not believe Underhill can do that- he would not be considered neutral- I believe the DOJ is proper.

  33. Rose says:

This weeks’s DOJ (OR) will exhonorate Staton of criminal violations because it’s perfectly clear Ellen did not convene a State grand jury to take evidence. Staton says he’ll only resign on criminal indictment. He knows no GJ = no indictment outcome.

Prolly going to agree with that.
    B

  34. A Texas Grandfather says:

Rose has made some good arguments about the reasons for Staton’s behavior and she may be 100 percent right. However, I believe that Staton is plagued with an unbridled desire to advance himself well past the point where he can function effectively.

This is why he had taken the necessary courses that are required to be a sheriff in Oregon. Taking a course and having the ability to apply the knowledge are vastly different things. Knowledge conveyed in a course must be combined with a person’s ability to reason and understand how it may be applied. IMO Staton has failed because he basically has no common sense and he bullies his way when things don’t go the way he wants.

Frontal lobe problem? Yes, either from lack of development or an injury, the result is the same.

He represented Illinois’s 14th congressional district in the House for twenty years, 1987 to 2007. He is the longest-serving Republican Speaker of the House in history. Admittedly- I think this case needed and needs a much narrower view than going back to my usual perch of 30,000 feet.

@ATG wrt “…Staton is plagued with an unbridled desire to advance himself well past the point where he can function effectively.” Lotta those politicians out there.

wrt Hastert, it’s been known for decades significant sexual acting out occurs in DC amonst congressmen
out of sight of home voters. Look at Wlbur Mills, John Tower and so on. Often alcoholism mixed in. And same sex.
imo one reason a former Portland mayor headed for DC’s opportunities.

  43. Rose says:

“Father said God sees all things and will intervene in his life-”
Sounds as flakey and off base as father’s wild eyed pic & alleged search behavior.
Another Sheriff’s Dept in child find failure.
Where’s the FBI West CARD consult?

too old and my guess is evidence he left voluntarily. Not a CARD case.

I will say this- years ago I worked on a case (one of my first- I wrote the e warrant.) These situations are rarely what is reported and sometimes rarely what LE thinks/believes. I hope they have verified he is not in danger- I hope I do not get slammed for this- but I am NOT a fan of homeschooling teens with a strong religious curriculum.

  44. Rose says:

@erose. re “ncluding former Republican Congressional leader Tom Delay, who called Hastert “a man of integrity. He loves and respects his fellow man.” CIA Director Porter Goss called Hastert “a rock solid guy with center-of-the country value”
One would expect this of the TX Exterminator, but not of a CIA Director, even a Bush appointee.

  45. erose says:

Blink, LOL Centre County. Maybe it’s the election taking over the news, but the former speaker of the house should at least get the same coverage as Sandusky. Who is Hastert’s Paterno? I mean did Hastert molest as a coach and then live life as an upright politician ever after, or has the whispers been flying around the halls of congress. If Paterno should have known then…

It’s just out of the boundaries of studied and known criminal pedophiles and reasonable know that. We learned with Sandusky there were plenty of secrets kept.

I was on OR DOJ site looking for a Staton report when I saw the check charities buttons, so I did. re KHF

p 12 of 13, wasn’t Swain the supervisor whose name Houze elicited in Kaine’s depo?
Perhaps the commonality the Foundation activities has with Swain, besides Intel, is cars cars cars

    —-
    2010
    revenue
on hand 25620 end of year
Board Tanber, Watson, Kellog, M Russell, J Swain (former Board: Kristi, Kaine, Bruce H)

    2011
    revenue 23833
on hand 31867 end of year
Board Tanber, D Watson, Carla Kellogg
    (25,620 + 23,833 – 31,866 = 17,587 spent during year)

    2012
    revenue $17938
    on hand $15734
Board, again Todd Tanber, Matt Russell, Debbie Watson
(if 2012 opened with 31867, took in 17938, and ended with 15734, then the Foundation spent 34,071 during the year!)
(how many event fees, tables & tents, identikits, and plastic trivia is that? Could there have been expensed travel to events or Board mtgs–hotels, gas, planes etc)

    2013 revenue 15162.14
    on hand 23833.68
Board, all female Johnson, Raigosa, Edmundson
    (15734 + 15162 – 23833 = 7,063 spent during year; a big swing. math not my strength, yearly spending fell 77%?)

    2014 revenue 15658
on hand at end of year 28970
Board, all female, Johnson, Raigosa, Schnoor, Heltzman
    (23833 + 15658 – 28970 = 10,521 spent during year)

The huge expenses in 20011 and particularly 2012 could have been start up costs, or since the expenditures fell by between 50% to 3/4ths in 2013-14, Kaine coukd’ve been doing a lot of 2011-12 travel to CA for say Board meetings with Tanber. When did gf move up from CA? memory dims. most numbers typed in to calculator from memory & may err.

    Lot of Board turnover.

Raigoso also appears to be from Roseville.
Paid by State for eled meal duty supv there.

Kaine’s new 2014 board member is quite impressive:

I suppose she trumps that CA Army of Angels dogooder photo shoots.
Oh gosh, puts KHF on her LinkedIn, starting Jan 2014 (IRS filing added her to Board in 2014 iirc.)

Other new 2014 Board member is a Sheriff’s Patrol footsoldier in Wash Cty:
