Kyron Horman Missing Case: Terri Horman Breaks Her Silence In People Magazine Interview

New York, NY-  For nearly five and a half years Terri Horman has refused to speak publicly about her step-sons case.  Outside of one assertion of her innocence while on the stand in a name change hearing she ultimately was denied, Horman did not speak to any reporters or answer any of their questions regarding Kyron Hormans disappearance. Until Now.

Horman courtesy of People

Horman was interviewed by People Magazines Elaine Aradillas for both the print and online editions,  and will be doing a series of personal interviews over the next week, to include wwww.blinkoncrime.com.

In the brief online video excerpt , the second part to air on ABC’s Good Morning America Friday morning,  Horman  maintains she is deaf in her left ear, a critical factor in the outcome of her first polygraph.

“… At what point are Kyron’s biological parents going to realize I don’t have the answers, they need to change this thing around…”

“…There is so much the public is not being told about this investigation, that’s why I am doing this- nobody is looking for Kyron…”

Horman’s interview drew sharp reactions from Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, Kyron’s parents.

“…Why is she silent for 5 1/2 years if she is innocent.  I want her to tell me where Kyron is.  If she is innocent she should call Multnomah County Sheriffs Office and sit down for an interview…”-  Desiree Young

“Hi friends. Yes I am well aware of the tabloid journalism piece in the media today. FYI – there will be more of the same coming Friday
We have a HOST of MCSO and FBI investigators STILL standing by with interviews and polygraphs when someone actually wants to cooperate. FEEL FREE TO STOP BY THEY ARE WAITING!! STILL!! Until then we’ll stick with the scores of people with valid/accurate information and the failed polygraphs as the only actual actions taken to-date.  To all of you: how about not linking the article/interview?
REMEMBER KYRON?!?!? This is what we need to be focused on!!
Love you Kyron!!” – Kaine Horman post on his Facebook Page

Christina Stoy, www.blinkoncrime.com Editor In Chief was able to confirm with Ms. Horman directly that she has been willing to meet with Kyron’s investigators both previously and in the future with the sole provision that it be conducted in the presence of her Attorney,  Portland criminal defense lawyer Stephen Houze.

Horman went on to say that investigators with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office have been well aware of “that” over the last five and a half years and they have never requested an interview.  Um, What?

Horman reveals some shocking details about the subsequent polygraphs examinations referenced by Kaine Horman and Desiree Young and other allegations of improper tactics on behalf of MCSO in the second half of her interview to air tomorrow morning on abc’s GMA and on Nightline.

I noticed that while kristian was arraigned in 03/09, his sentencing was only 1 week after the 6/11 Dr apptmt.
How would the sentencing have gone if kyron’s issues were allegedly speculatively
related, post ped assessment? Very unlikely, but exploring a bizarre coincidence.
    ——————
I have never thought that Kristian would have molested Kyron. I think that there is a big difference in a male who can be sexually attracted to a 15 year old girl and someone who would have been interested in a 7 year old boy. Although a 15 year old girl is a child IMO the situation is different then someone who is interested in a young children. I also believe that pedophiles have age and gender preferences so that a pedophile interested in teenage girls would probably not be drawn to very young male children. JMO

Folks, I haven’t written anything here in a while because it is increasingly more difficult for me not to say, again and again, what I have suspected since late 2010 — that KH has something to do with Kyron’s disappearance.
    ————-
I agree Kaine has done and said some strange stuff. Not the least of which was that he knew in the beginning of the disappearance that it may take years to find Kyron.

I also find it strange that he is sending Kitty to the same school Kyron went missing from how can he be so sure that she is safe there. Maybe his desire to hold onto Kitty at any cost drives him toward bizarre behavior.

The relations between Kaine and DY(and her family) do not seem to be a united front to find Kyron. I noticed that none of the people in Kaines family ever seem to be involved if efforts to find Kyron. At least I have not heard of any comments made by the Horman’s about the case except right after Kyron disappeared.

Does Kaine’s family even believe TH did something with Kyron?

It seems like DY and Tony were not close to Kaine or any of his family(and still aren’t) even before the abduction. Maybe it was because Kaine had custody of Kyron and doled to DY’s visitation as he saw fit.

    OT
I wonder how long it will be before Kaine finds a new paramour to live in his house now that KM is gone.

“Chief Deputies Ask County for Protection From Sheriff Dan Staton

Two of the three chief deputies for Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton sent a letter May 19 to the county seeking protection from Staton in a pending county human resources investigation. “[Tim] Moore and [Jason] Gates have direct knowledge of Sheriff Staton’s workplace conduct,” says the letter from Holly Lloyd, the deputies’ attorney. “Although they will cooperate with the investigation, Mr. Moore and Mr. Gates fear retaliation from Sheriff Staton. Sheriff Staton has engaged in increasingly erratic behavior, has threatened loss of employment to each member of his Command Staff on multiple occasions, and has also personally threatened to personally sue each member.” The letter follows calls for Staton’s resignation from two sheriff’s office unions. Staton’s spokesman said the sheriff had not yet seen the letter. County spokesman Dave Austin says the county doesn’t comment on pending investigations.”

A police chief out hunting ground squirrels on the ground twenty miles or more from a town shooting a member of the party, makes me believe that his friend may not have been on the chief’s current list of good friends. Any police officer that has so little training as to not be aware of the location of his hunt mates or claims such is either lying or totally drunk. This would be the same as chasing a perp who is running into a crowd of people and shooting while running.

Notice who go the information. It wasn’t the internal investigation people, it was the mayor who promptly left town. Just more evidence that LE in the Portland area is a lot less than professional. Sounds like the action in an early 1900′s Max Senate comedy routine about cops.

I do not personally know this mother, but many of the people replying to help her and many on her friends list are people I know very well through my church. I am confident it is not a hoax. Her son, Gabe, is a middle school student in Clackamas County. He was seen at school yesterday, did not get on his regular bus, and has not been seen or heard from since.
If this is correct, then he essentially disappeared from Rock Creek Middle School (grades 6,7,8). (I’m not sure what grade he’s in.)

She has contacted everyone she could think of and says the school and the school police officer are “working on it”. Friends are offering to go door to door. She changed her post which includes a picture to “public” so more people could see it.

What is strange to me is that I cannot find anything in the news about it, or on the district or school website. Others are wondering about that also.

I pray for a happy ending to this story. I know this child’s age is quite a lot older than Kyron, but how could you not wonder.

That use of capital bldg $ (already appropriated & set aside as mcso’s contribution to Hansen bldg rebuild), for operating expenses is exactky what Staton recommended to “save” the jail beds he himself had axed. There had been a committee allocating who pd what for Hansen (mcso, mcsa share, etc). He said this would be a onetime only takeaway. Commissioners all know jail beds can’t be cut. So he proposed, and they apparently acquiesed. Budget Doesn’t take a cpa auditor, just getting rid of rubber stamp Commissioners who posture in front of Staton, then hop in his car and get taken for a ride.

Following the only visitation stipulations in the docket for either of her sons to date that allowed her 1x a month weekend access through dinner Sun eve- DY did not see Quinn nor Ky more than 2x a month on weekends. It is my understanding that the extended Summer break of 6 weeks only occurred for the first time Summer 2009 and was to occur again 2010. In Oregon, modification to visitation can be made via mutual agreement, but the only enforcable orders are the last ones if parents do not agree (in writing and filed as an entry.)

According to documents I have seen and maintain copies of- she rented out her condo for the 5-ish months she contends she sought medical treatment and subsequently returned to Medford and sold her condo instead of returning to it as a means to resume joint physical custody and exercise visitation. The trip to Medford meant 10 hours round trip to the boys for a Fri- Sun afternoon trip.

DY “move to Canada” (she never changed her DL, applied for a Visa, was not employed) lasted only a few months.

The Oregon chapter of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees today called for Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton’s resignation.

The union, which represents more than 25,000 workers statewide, joined two other unions that earlier asked Staton to step down: The Multnomah County Deputy Sheriff’s Association and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 88 previously called for the sheriff’s resignation.

“Oregon AFSCME knows what corrupt governance looks like and Sheriff Staton is the embodiment of it in this community,” said Ken Allen, executive director of the union, in a press conference Wednesday.

“Sheriff Staton has clearly and consciously decided that he is no longer serving the residents of Multnomah County, but is instead serving himself,” Allen said.

A spokesman for the sheriff said Staton was not available for comment Wednesday.

Staton’s leadership this year became the subject of an Oregon Department of Justice investigation, which found no criminal wrongdoing. The sheriff is now under investigation by the county’s human resources department.

Willamette Week first reported Wednesday morning on a May 19 letter sent to the county on behalf of two of the sheriff’s chief deputies, Tim Moore and Jason Gates. In the letter they agreed to cooperate with the investigation but requested protection, saying they fear retaliation by Staton.

the heart of the matter (url above”
    (1) The investigation into sheriff’s employees’ complaints will be overseen by Travis Graves, the county’s human resources director, who reports to Kafoury and the board.
But it will be a murky legal situation, as the sheriff’s office has its own human resources department reporting to Staton.”

Staton planned to consult with attorneys on the legalities of the situation early this week.
***Undoubtedly, they gave him the bad news, aka the whistleblower retaliation blues.

From an employment law perspective, Willamette University law professor Keith Cunningham-Parmeter agrees the county is obliged to investigate complaints of retaliation. But the issue must boil down to more than just an unpleasant work environment caused by Staton. There’s got to be discrimination or whistleblower retaliation, according to the professor.
“Lots of people go to work every day for bosses who are mean to them, and they have no legal recourse,” Cunningham-Parmeter says.
“What’s she going to do?” asks Bishop of the state sheriffs’ group. “She can’t remove the sheriff.”
Because Staton can’t be removed by Kafoury,”

    (2) like Kaine & Desiree’s civil duits fostered by mcso to aid a criminal charge, ergo

“an investigation’s most immediate effect might be to provide evidence to plaintiff’s lawyers who seek to sue the county, legal observers agree. Already, two lawsuits are pending accusing Staton of retaliaton, and others are possible.

Staton was advised imo to halt that County HR record-building in its tracks.

Since he’s not retiring til August, I hope County HR proceeds and documents, but they won’t because it woukd onky hurt the County in tort & employment suits. This was always an empty County investigation threat to secure his departure imo.

I btw got swindled last week out of 2 12 gauge (pump & auto), a 30 ought, and a 22 after a 2 day sale when I was exhausted. I had no idea what these things in their cases were as husband had never used them after say age l8, what they were used for, or what they were worth. But while husband was out of town and unreachable, a man convinced me he’d agreed to sell. I ended up with about $180 for all of them. And after husband wanted the 12 gauge pump back, without his knowing, I had to give the man $400 cash to get it, and the creep kept the case. I went and visited 2 gun stores and got educated on State rules and buying/reselling procedures. I made husband text me what these types of guns are used for so I could remember. A 22 does fit for squirrels it seems, but that activity seems like a waste of space in the universe. They just wanted an excuse for drinking if you ask me, and maybe more. I am sorry to learn of the loss of valuable guns to the scammer. This is an example of how these people take advantage of women who do not know about guns. It doesn’t have to be guns, it can be tools and other materials that men collect over time.

Mrs. ATG called a junk dealer 40 years ago when I was out of town to clean out an area she wanted to use where I was storing tools and steel shelving. The junk dealer charged her $500.00 for the clean out and took almost $4,000.00 in tools and materials. Needless to say, I was not a happy person when I discovered what happened.

The Junk man convinced her that because an 8″ jointer/planer had a little rust on the steel tables, that it was worthless. That tool’s cost was over $1,000.00. It is normal for a steel table on that tool to accumulate a small amount of rust if not used daily, but she was ignorant of that fact.

Now to the problem at the hunt. The weapon that was used to shoot the hunter in the back was a 22 rifle. The reference of L.R. is to the type of ammunition, not the gun type. Shooting ground squirrels with bullets of that type is over-kill. The proper ammunition would be 22 shorts that do not have as much velocity and will not destroy the meat as much. They could use a .22 cal. long barrel pistol instead of a rifle. The velocity and accuracy of ammunition is dependent on the length of the barrel as well as the amount of powder in the shell.

There is a book written by an attorney and his son that is revised yearly regarding the gun laws of all the states. This year’s edition will have a lot of revisions. Most of the laws regarding guns in states would not meet constitutional muster. If the courts would only do their job and quit making case law based on their opinion, things would be a lot simpler.

Ladies, please do not throw away or sell items that are not familiar to you without discussing their worth or use with your husband. That is like having a man come into your kitchen and throw out a lot of things because he doesn’t recognize their value or how they are used.

Ok, saving my beloved ATG from women like myself who own our own tools, special kitchen faves and firearms, lol. I am pretty OCD on all of those things, admittedly. Kudos to Rose for bringing the issue to light- and unfortunately the lesson in recovering her loss. Poor Mrs. ATG- I can only imagine :)

If TMH didn’t tell them (KH, DY) about Kyron’s odd activities, I’d like to know why she didn’t. From what we’ve heard from KH, it sounds like he was aware, because he said he brushed off Kyron’s behavior as lack of sleep. But was he told about Kyron touching himself in an odd manner, according to TMH’s newest revelation. That’s certainly not caused by not lack of sleep. Why would she not tell both her husband and Kyron’s mother? DY claims she knew nothing about it, yet does say Kyron was acting oddly at her place FOR A YEAR! And further, why would DY keep this information to herself for a year? Did she share whatever that odd behavior was that she witnessed in her son, the bed wetting, and whatever else there may have been, with Kyron’s father or step-mother?

If, they were told about the doctor appointment, I would assume TMH told them why she was making it. If they were told, why would they deny being told?

If Kyron was being molested/groomed by someone prior to his disappearance, then that doctor appointment became motive to disappear that child before the appointment the following week. So, IF he was, then it’s important to know who knew about it and when. With whom did TMH share this information? Did she share with a close friend as well? Did she share it with her mom and dad, how about her son? Could it be she inadvertently shared it with the abuser, or whomever she shared that information with from family, to friends, to teachers, etc., shared it with the abuser.

This is all IF he was being abused prior to his disappearance. I still think it’s a pretty risky thing to walk into a school and disappear a child. Everyone here seems to think this was well planned. Planning takes time. That’s why I’m interested in who was told and when, if anybody.

Oh my, you got taken to the cleaners all-righty. LOL, we have an outbuilding like your basement, it used to be called the bunkhouse when the kids were little, now it’s the *junkhouse*. Where everything we might use someday, goes to die. It’ll probably take us days as opposed to hours to go through it all and donate it away. Sooner or later, it’s on the list of things to do (and put off).

Good ol’ boys, that’s who. :) I figured they were shooting ground squirrels as soon as I heard the story. Which my first reaction was, ya’ know, ground squirrels are on the GROUND. How do you shoot someone in the back, unless you’re drunk or did it on purpose? So, I figured drunk.

I do have to say, for those who don’t have them where they live, those nasty little critters, will chew their way through almost anything, dig under your foundation, and they carry the bubonic plague among other nasty diseases. They are a problem here for us too, and the only safe and effective way (if you have pets) we’ve found to get rid of them is shoot them, or trap and shoot them. You can also trap them and relocate them at least 7 miles away from your property, but most neighbors wouldn’t appreciate that. They have been increasing in numbers on our property, we used to have dogs that would hunt them and barn cats would keep down their population, but now it’s up to us to get rid of them, because our newest dog could care less about them, or the deer eating my roses, for that matter. Rattlesnakes will eat their young, but rattlesnakes will also take up residence in their abandoned tunnels. Yellow jacket wasps also love their abandoned tunnels. Ahhh, the country life.

To me one weekend monthly with mother especially when Stipullated to at a young age, and they had resided with her from birth, is unheard of. If she’d wanted more weekends monthly at the time of the Stip, imo no way Kaine could’ve fought it, barring cause. And the way I see it, if she was a good parent for one full residential weekend a month, no way if litigated a Court would deny her more for young boys.

TRuth, Agree. How could she know who to share this with? (All we know of is Porter.) How does DY plead ignorance when she noticed symptoms of something herself? Maybe these households didn’t share information. Not sure I would if I were questioning where it was coming from.

For me- all DY initial public comments indicated she thought TMH was doing a good job with Kyron- in my view, at some point DY was given access by some means to prove to her that TMH had valid concerns and was working toward uncovering the causation and DY did not want to be in a position (again) for that to come out and for her to be blindsided-

A VERY important reminder here for all- this issue was the subject of 3 civil matters and an ongoing criminal investigation. I highlight that because it is important to understand a tort, a dissolution action and a custody action acquire a great deal of discovery TMH had/has access to that DY does not.

On the hateful email issue- in prep and ongoing fact checking efforts- I revisited the Dr. Phil appearance- Kaine denies ever seeing any email written by Terri expressing hatred for Kyron. I find that very compelling considering the date of his appearance and the date of the stip agreement. Kaine had total access to TMH email account prior to his disappearance and since. Does anyone really believe if such emails existed they would not have been submitted as evidence of support in any one of these matters?
    They. DO NOT. Exist.

TKG- I edited your response to TRuth because I would like to convey part of that info in context with my interview- allowing Ms. Moulton Horman’s direct words to speak for themselves. She has been gracious and resolved enough to spend many hours with me and answer such questions at length so I would like to give her the opportunity to do so in her own words- I hope that’s ok.

    ——————-

I of course do not know Oregon family law. In my state, if DY wished to modify custody, she would not need a lawyer. She would write up her own notes (“I have visitation now which has been going well,” “My health problem no longer exists,” etc., etc.) and present to a Family Court judge her physical situation (full bedroom for child, nice neighborhood, etc.) and have her husband accompany her. The judge would hear her request and ask KH for his information and reaction. If KH had something to throw in DY’s face (“she was addicted to pain killers” or “she’s mentally ill,” etc.) he would be required to show proof of those kinds of statements. A lot of parents in custody brawls, who I know, all went barging into their custody hearing full of all sorts of delusional thoughts (“no way I’m lettin’ her take MY kids away from me!”) and were told in no uncertain terms by a FC judge, “Um, no. Here’s state law, and how it now applies to you.”

Thus in the last 20 years or so, the trend in my state has been joint custody, with “primary physical custody” keeping a child in a school district with stability for education and activities/friends., etc. The non-custodial parent would have a schedule that averaged out to be dinner time once a week on a school night, and alternate full weekends (2 per month, Friday after school through Sunday evening).

In DY’s case, I have no idea why she would only have one weekend a month. Also, in the early months of this case, it was portrayed at times on FB pages and on OL comments (over and over and over again) that DY “saw Kyron every weekend!” When no one would really correct those kinds of statements, for a while, the image of DY having Kyron “every weekend” seemed to stick. I don’t see that kind of portrayal of DY for some time now. But, notable for me anyway, she never spoke in public to correct those statements.

I have always sensed that DY’s trip to Canada was not for her healthcare as the primary reason, and with an OL commentator mentioning a couple years ago that DY moved to Canada to live with a boyfriend, and that she would pick Kyron occasionally for visits from a location in Washington, then became something mentioned only a few times.

Yet, that’s not a scandalous story, is it. It’s a rather dull story. And could be completely true.

So she had a boyfriend in Canada? Who cares? KH dumped her and cheated on her, so why would it be hidden during this Kyron case story that she too had a romantic life and pursued dating or a serious relationship after KH was gone from their marriage? This is what I mean by how I don’t trust so much of what is said by the bios. Simple things seem to be “hidden” when, first, they would be among the most basic issues investigated by LE in the case of an abducted child, and second, when they in no way are “scandalous.”

Or, for DY and KH, are we looking at simple things actually being problems? Was the Canadian boyfriend story not addressed because DY was involved with a major jerk? Was KH’s weird refusal to say “Yes, Kyron had a doctor’s appointment on June 11″ his way of covering up an issue with his own child that would make him look bad as a father?

Why? These two bios, I swear, I don’t care how often they say that they want to bring Kyron home, I’m ain’t feelin’ the love.

Going back to custody, a bio mom who seems to let the bio dad tell her when she will and will not see her son, other than the stipulated time in a written agreement, is afraid that the bio dad will use something against her. That is all I sense here between DY and KH — a history that they will not reveal, because first, DY fears it being revealed, and second, because KH, imo, is a knuckle-dragger chauvinist who moves women into his house for dishwashing, driving “his” children to dentists and school and activities, and oh, sex.

One point about that kind of dynamic between a former couple is that an abused partner will often develop a belief that he/she is not liked by other people. The abuser — especially with mental/emotional abuse — can destroy self-confidence quickly. I sense that about DY sometimes. She seems to act with those signs I’ve seen among abuse victims (and I’m not talking about a**holes who beat up women or women who smack husbands with frying pans — I am referring to verbal abuse). “I can’t do this, because I really don’t have any friends.” “No one wants to hear me talk about that.” “They stopped inviting me to their house.” Etc.

DY thus latches on to these monsters from Facebook because they worship her as the Madonna Mom. This case is subsequently a train wreck.

If I’m wrong, I’m wrong, but I smell a big fat secret between DY and KH, and I always have, and why has the “reporting” on this case not jumped on their backgrounds? It is blatantly obvious that no investigative reporting has been going on, to benefit Kyron.

I want to see DY speak honestly about any problems she has had in the past, and to hear KH speak honestly about why he has had problems of his own, because their personal hassles in the past are LEADS. They knew people. They hung out with people. They had “he said she said” circles of acquaintances when they split up. When DY was in Canada, she then broke up with that boyfriend, because she married to TY now. She had a kidney problem, along the way. Again, SO WHAT? More information, not less, helps to find missing persons. The secrecy surrounding these people is ridiculous. I’ve never seen anything like it.

And more and more, I believe that it’s very possible that KH set the stage for the “stepmom did it” story. He’s a leader. He is a manager. He’s a boss. He’s in charge. This is not a man who meekly listens to people. He used his own home as a place where “wife” did this and that, and there was an expectation that a wife’s duties were fulfilled and that was that, no wiggle room. That’s not a guy who sits on a couch after his son disappears, and waits for LE to tell him what’s going on. More and more, I believe that KH lead LE around by the nose, with substantial help from TY.

He admitted once that there were problems in his marriage to TMH, and then he gave a lame summary, something along the lines of “but then I felt those issues were resolved and things were okay.” That’s not the type of language you use to gush about the woman you love.

Someone, someone, please, tell these parents, the act isn’t working, it’s not finding their child!! I’ll ask them what they’ve taken turns asking TMH — why don’t you cooperate? GMAB, guys.

Firstly- I read this 3x. I recommend readers do as well.

Rose is correct that agreeing to the stipulations she did is unheard of- especially if you consider the fact her move was only months-long, from both a primary parent perspective AND a judge entered these without hearing. It is my strong view she did this because she used it as leverage to not pay child support- which would have been appropriate considering the change in custody as that language is specifically included in the order (as is the law then and now). She could have motioned for an in limine order based on seeking medical treatment as the reason for a temporary custody shift that would have accomplished the same thing with no risk to her primary custodian status. That would have required proof of her circumstances to the court however, not just her “word”. Interestingly, I thought I would do very little work in litigation support for Family Law matters but in recent weeks I have done quite a bit.

Nelmel is just so on-point on this one I have nothing else to add.
