Kyron Horman Missing Case: Terri Horman Breaks Her Silence In People Magazine Interview

New York, NY-  For nearly five and a half years Terri Horman has refused to speak publicly about her step-sons case.  Outside of one assertion of her innocence while on the stand in a name change hearing she ultimately was denied, Horman did not speak to any reporters or answer any of their questions regarding Kyron Hormans disappearance. Until Now.

Horman courtesy of People

Horman was interviewed by People Magazines Elaine Aradillas for both the print and online editions,  and will be doing a series of personal interviews over the next week, to include wwww.blinkoncrime.com.

In the brief online video excerpt , the second part to air on ABC’s Good Morning America Friday morning,  Horman  maintains she is deaf in her left ear, a critical factor in the outcome of her first polygraph.

“… At what point are Kyron’s biological parents going to realize I don’t have the answers, they need to change this thing around…”

“…There is so much the public is not being told about this investigation, that’s why I am doing this- nobody is looking for Kyron…”

Horman’s interview drew sharp reactions from Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, Kyron’s parents.

“…Why is she silent for 5 1/2 years if she is innocent.  I want her to tell me where Kyron is.  If she is innocent she should call Multnomah County Sheriffs Office and sit down for an interview…”-  Desiree Young

“Hi friends. Yes I am well aware of the tabloid journalism piece in the media today. FYI – there will be more of the same coming Friday
We have a HOST of MCSO and FBI investigators STILL standing by with interviews and polygraphs when someone actually wants to cooperate. FEEL FREE TO STOP BY THEY ARE WAITING!! STILL!! Until then we’ll stick with the scores of people with valid/accurate information and the failed polygraphs as the only actual actions taken to-date.  To all of you: how about not linking the article/interview?
REMEMBER KYRON?!?!? This is what we need to be focused on!!
Love you Kyron!!” – Kaine Horman post on his Facebook Page

Christina Stoy, www.blinkoncrime.com Editor In Chief was able to confirm with Ms. Horman directly that she has been willing to meet with Kyron’s investigators both previously and in the future with the sole provision that it be conducted in the presence of her Attorney,  Portland criminal defense lawyer Stephen Houze.

Horman went on to say that investigators with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office have been well aware of “that” over the last five and a half years and they have never requested an interview.  Um, What?

Horman reveals some shocking details about the subsequent polygraphs examinations referenced by Kaine Horman and Desiree Young and other allegations of improper tactics on behalf of MCSO in the second half of her interview to air tomorrow morning on abc’s GMA and on Nightline.

You know, Evie, there was some picture in Portland print media recently showing contaminated ground sites throughout the city from industrial uses. Just like oil spilling in the Col Gorge town area, I imagine rainfall spreads the chemical contaminants, permeating underground and in lakes or river water supply.

Malty, iirc mbs knew her and respected her and fully briefed us on her, probably in the “lost thread.” As I recall she was principal of an alternative high school which contracted with PPS, and a Supt named Vicki Phillips brought her into PPS proper in admin and groomed her.
The PEPP parents accuse her of letting many no bid contracts to friends and acquaintances from her “alternative education” era and of emphasizing voc ed and alternative contracted-out instructional environments rather than improving the skills and test scores of all groups within PPS, and particularly of the economically and racially disadvantaged. She did however get a lot of PPS admin support by raising administrators salaries across the board a good bit per PEPP.

I shall be very fascinated with ATG’s analysis of those reservoirs on Powell Butte.
Imo the issue is the reservoir linings, and the structures’ vulnerability to permeability at the lowest
    water table level.

At least the two guys had enough concern to stop and pick you up. Some would have laughed at your spill because no one ever taught them to respect their elders.

Don’t let these types upset you. You do not owe them speed to get out of their way.

We will not have to boil water. Our water is from a well that is at the 400 ft. level. It takes days and sometimes weeks for surface water to percolate to that level. However, the Texas Hill Country is like an old mountain range with granite and limestone. Much of the granite that is near the surface is the result of volcanic activity several thousand years ago. We do have minerals in solution in the water. We filter all cooking and drinking water twice. Once with a course filter to remove dirt and large mineral particles and the second is to remove iron and limestone.

Thanks for the link to the water source. This is just what I suspected regarding surface and ground water being mixed. There is not a detailed history of this system in the article. However, it is an old formation and was found useful over 100 years ago.

Mountainous terrain often has underground aquifers that hold water in enormous quantities. This is an old system. I am curious as to the time when the main water lines to the communities was installed and what type of pipe was used. This old pipe may be a source for the lead.

Bodies of water at the surface where oxygen is readily available have microbes that have the ability to feed from some of these contaminates changing them into harmless substances. Water sources are complicated systems that require a lot of testing and investigation to get the overall condition regarding safety.

Since Portland and much of the surrounding communities depend on the system for water, the surface supply and the underground supply need to be examined for chemical suspensions along with the care of the delivery systems to the users.

The EPA and other agencies would like to see all water systems as clean as the water that is found at the output of a distillation facility. There isn’t enough money in the world to make that happen. If the lakes and rivers were to be cleaned to that level, the fish would soon die for lack of food. Balance is the key.

    —————————
I knew her professionally and respected her work. That did not necessarily prepare her for supt. and if I had to choose a mentor, it would NOT have been Vicki Phillips. PPS issues run deep and wide and waaay back. I won’t bring up decades of weaknesses in hiring and school board elections. They used to talk about identifying and involving “stakeholders” all the time, but the “stakeholders” were more likely to come carrying stakes and lanterns than to be led to form real partnerships. There was so little trust. However, starting over with someone new as supt. is unlikely to be any more successful.

A successful supt. has to choose the right supportive staff and make sure it all works – the best principals I knew were very good at their jobs, but their personal secretary could make or break them in a heartbeat and they knew it.

It’s strange, but the (“case related”) people I worked with and knew best professionally were Ben Keefer’s mother and the IB administrator who attended the science fair.

MBS- just wanted to say thank you for your willingness to contribute your colleague/local interactions. I can only add my experiences with witnesses or colleagues of Ben Keefer (former principal at Skyline) included all positive feedback on him in that role.

For me- I just read that similar to when I say things to my kids like come here and let me smell your neck and baby essence, lol- I usually get Mom your a freak sometimes. My son was still pretty affectionate at Kyron’s age when he went missing but definitely starting that “little man in training” time so (not a shrink) I’m guessing when only seeing him once a month and sometimes 2x it was probably pretty hard to let go from those hugs.

Or was she just that unfortunate?

Excellent Question erose- I would like to give readers a crack at what those scenarios might look like before I respond.

Especially this- if TMH allegedly is responsible, than such a mastermind must have anticipated and possibly even promoted herself as a suspect above all others, right? One of the problems that our entire society faces on a daily basis is how to live in a world that has become so complex that a majority do not know the facts of how things work.

As a child, my world was a lot more simple than what it has become during my lifetime. Things electrical and mechanical were laboratory investigations such as television. The physics of the atom were still in the theory stage as Neals Bore could not prove his concepts of atomic construction until an electron microscope of sufficient power was built to actually look at a single atom.

All of these things came to be following the second world war. Because we learned about germs and how to clean up our living space the life span of humans was greatly extended.

Then we have the pseudo scientists with just enough knowledge to skew the facts in order to create an agenda that benefits themselves and scare the general population into doing foolish things.

If one looks at the chemical table of elements and finds the things that are considered radio active, one also learns that those radio active elements all have a period of time where they loose radio activity down to the lowest level which is lead.

I think, and always have thought, that somewhere between June 4 and June 7 they school and LE had an aha moment that they lost a kid. I think the aha moment for the school happened way early and the only way my theory works is if there was someone at PPS who was extremely close to someone in LE. I do not think T was a suspect until it became obvious that the school and possibly LE had some (all) of the guilt for allowing a child to disappear. I think KH has tons to hide and DY was just ripe for the planting of the suggestion that all of her problems were the fault of TMH. I’m positive TMH had no clue she would be targeted and I think she was the best gift the guilty ever had.

I think we’ve discussed this here before, but if you are saying what if Terri was framed, what knowledge would the person who framed her have to have in advance, I made up a list a long time ago of some of the things the “framer” would have to know.

    If Terri was framed:
Knowledge of which child was Kyron, either knew him, or followed TY & him until she left.
    Knowledge of science fair.
Knowledge that science fair was open to everyone.
Knowledge that Terri would be attending the science fair w/o KH/DY.
Knowledge of Terri taking the white truck. (?)
Knowledge of Kyron’s June 11, doctor appointment, made on the 3rd.
Knowledge of school policy regarding absences not regularly followed, with no phone to the home.
    Knowledge of landscaper.
Knowledge of landscaper and his willingness to testify regarding MFH.
Knowledge of and a connection to SZ via ?????
Knowledge of the school’s lax policy about letting Kyron go outside with a stranger.
    What else?

    Events, that pointed to Terri:
Last family member known to see Kyron.
Alleged MFH of her husband. (which seems to be all but disappeared now)
    Unaccounted for 45min – 1:15 (I think it was)
Kyron spotted outside *near* white pickup.
    White truck at JK’s 3pmish and 2amish.
Confusion over Kyron’s appointment at the school.
    SI searched why?
    Alleged hate emails.

If it was some Lucky Stranger:
Lucked out the school was not following protocols.
Lucked out that there was a weird mix up by Kyron’s teacher about a doctor’s appointment, that resulted in absolutely no one wondering why Kyron was not at school.
Lucked out that the Horman’s truck or one similar just happened to match his, and/or he parked right next to one just like the Horman’s. (OR, had this stranger been stalking Kyron and followed Terri in the truck that morning and made sure he parked nearby?) which helped put the LE focus on Horman.
Lucked out that JK, just happened to see a pickup like Horman’s twice that day on his deserted road.
Lucked out that the rest of the family would turn on Terri Horman and start a vilification via the media.
Lucked out that he picked a child whose step-mom just happened to be accused of a MFH on her husband.
Lucked out that there are emails Terri sent venting about Kyron breaking up their marriage, etc. (allegedly)
Lucked out that Terri Horman, just happened to have somewhere around an hour of unaccounted for time

Just some of my thoughts, some may be necessary some not. I thought I’d posted this here before, but couldn’t find it. Add in or take away your thoughts folks. IMHO there’s no question she felt she was being targeted, but I’d like to know who started the targeting? The first person I remember hearing saying they felt Terri did it was DY, when she got the phone call. Where did that thought go from there? Because DY was married to a LEO, did her “gut feelings” lead this investigation astray immediately? Was that all it took?

  29. T. Ruth says:

All these six-year missing articles that I’ve read are missing something important. Not one reporter states that they tried to contact the MCSO office for an update on the case. Why not?

Why are they all just stories about Kaine & his daughter, or even worse, KHWS leader SG? Why didn’t one reporter attempt to contact the DA’s office or MCSO to find out if anyone’s still even working on the case in any kind of capacity at all? Why didn’t one reporter ask either DY or KH why they weren’t at the wall sprucing it up, and at the same time ask them their opinion about SG?

    This stinks.

  30. T. Ruth says:

    If Terri was framed:
Knowledge of which child was Kyron, either knew him, or followed TY & him until she left.

    ***********

That should read or follwed TH & him. Sorry, I’m much better of using full names.

The U.S. Department of Justice’s internal inspector announced Tuesday that a U.S. Attorney had been found to have violated laws and sexual harassment regulations after engaging in a relationship with a subordinate.

The justice department’s inspector general did not identify which U.S. Attorney was the target of the investigation but wrote that the official had been accused of having an inappropriate yearlong relationship with an assistant U.S. attorney. The report also noted that the U.S. Attorney had lied about who was the actual target of the investigation and later resigned.

Oregon U.S. Attorney Amanda Marshall officially resigned from her position as the state’s top prosecutor on May 15, 2015 after having left the office in March amid rumors she had a potentially inappropriate relationship with Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott M. Kerin and had sent him unwanted texts and emails.

At that time, Marshall had commented through her attorney that she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Marshall’s attorney, Charese Rohny, had told The Oregonian/OregonLive on March 13, 2015, that Marshall was the victim in this case. “I was told by the OIG they’re investigating Scott (Kerin),” Rohny had said. “That’s what initiated the investigation.”

The justice department later issued a statement seeming to confirm that Marshall was the focus of an ongoing investigation.

MOO … KH seems to have had a lot of “connected” acquaintances (legal or powerful or not). So, how is this bit of speculation: KH wants to get rid of TMH once and for all but doesn’t want to lose their daughter, or share her with her birth mom.
The word “elaborate” comes to mind – is KH actually smart enough to orchestrate something like that? or TMH?

Maybe he works something out with them, or with someone in his own family, or someone he works with or works out with, to disappear Kyron (just for now), still can make trips to see and be with him, but (at the same time) gets rid of an overweight, out-of-shape, housewife who starts to think for herself, complain at all the work he loads her down with, including parenting a child who might or might not have special needs who she hasn’t even been allowed to adopt.
Possibly KH found someone much more ‘interesting’, didn’t want TMH in his sandbox any more with any of his other ‘interests’. Maybe she had enough and began to feel [fill in the blank].
Does he still travel a lot in his job?
Have either of the sets of grandparents had much to say about any of this?

How long before this is considered a “cold case” and the police who can, will go to work on it? If that little boy wasn’t hidden under a houseboat or somewhere in the woods, why couldn’t he still be alive? (If he is not, I just cringe to think what his last moments might have been like, poor little boy).
    Just MOO.

Regarding your excellent questions about how TH came to be the target of Kaine, Desiree and the MCSO as well as the courts.

Terri made herself a target when she exposed the steroid use at the gym. IMO, there are sheriff deputies that were involved in acquiring and using drugs that were associated with the gym. There could even be PPB people involved as well.

Kaine Horman was the target or reason for the exposure. Terri was I think attempting to put a stop to making steroids available to him. An effort to keep him clean. Kaine could not afford to be exposed in such an activity because of his employment at Intel.

I also believe that the murder for hire sting was already in operation prior to the abduction of Kyron. Kaine wanted to get Terri out of his life because she would no longer accept the things he did.
He was and is “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” regarding his behavior. That is an old expression, but I think it applies. He hides his intentions by behaving as would a gentle sheep while underneath he is as vicious as a wolf. Terri became the target of the “wolf”.

MCSO has proven itself to be a rogue LE agency that has major management problems because a group of deputies and appointed and elected sheriff’s operate in a culture of corruption. Some of this corruption has spread to the District Attorney’s office and to the courts.

The entire population of Multnomah county is at risk to be treated exactly as Terri if they expose the corruption. Nothing is worse for the people IMO than a situation such as we have witnessed. The press will not expose it because they too fear what will happen to them.

The PPS sytem is operating without good management. A fish rots from the head down. This fits PPS because the people have not participated in securing a quality School Board that hires a quality Superintendent and administrative staff. The same could be applied to the County Commissioners.

  42. A Texas Grandfather says:

    Rose

I am not ignoring your concept of the geology of the area regarding the contribution it may make to the source for lead in the water at Portland.

So far as I know, there are no underground storage areas that have been mined. Therefore, no opportunity to install a lining material.

Your question made me think of Leadville, Colorado and its nearby areas in the rocky mountains. Leadville began as a placer mining community where gold was the primary commercial mineral. The gold deposit was not large and soon was depleted. A major problem of the placer operation was the black sand that clogged the flow of water. Someone decided to investigate the sand and found it to be cerussite that contained a large amount of lead and considerable amount of silver.

There is a small mine at Crested Bute, Colorado operated by a single miner that produces similar ore. He stores it in quart fruit jars for later movement to a smelter. If you look on a map of Colorado, near Crested Bute, there is a lake large enough to show on most maps. The mine is near the lake.

Many lead sources are combined with zinc. There has been production of zinc in the State of Washington, but none in Oregon. However, the Columbia river watershed is most of central, eastern and southern Washington along with the northern region of Oregon. There may be a place where a zinc-lead deposit exists that may not be commercial. It could be a contributor to lead in water if it were to be leach-able.

So want went wrong in this diabolical scheme to include not a scintilla of evidence OR a scintilla of evidence as to what happened to Kyron?

OK – suppose this was the work of a highly organized criminal with super tech skills and carefully researched planning habits, intent on pointing the Fickle Finger of Fate at someone who was not involved at all, how could this person be so careless/ignorant that he/she would not think to or successfully manage to plant at least one piece of hard/solid evidence connected to the person they selected as the scapegoat? That doesn’t add up in my mind. Therefore –

1- The person simply neglected to do this so was not as organized and skilled as the results made it appear after the fact – and now doesn’t care because others have “filled” that finger pointing need.

2 – The person DID put some sort of connecting, incriminating evidence in place, but (a) it failed to attract enough attention and be recognized, or (b) it got lost and certain people are still searching for it, or (c) the scapegoat, who was not guilty anyway, had an unexpected counter piece of evidence that rendered that connection useless. Again, no reason for SZ to care now because others have “filled” that finger pointing need.

3 – The person DID put some sort of valid, incriminating evidence in place which SHOULD have worked, but WE missed it because it was INTENDED to incriminate someone OTHER THAN Terri and not only did heads not turn in any other direction once DY jumped in, but we, although open-minded, have excused or failed to see the possibility of other known persons as a suspect. (In other words, we accept the idea of an unknown sex offender, for example, but we give others who are familiar to us a pass for one reason or another.) And again, no reason for SZ to care now because one scapegoat is as useful as another.

4 – If #3 is true, then looking for anyone connected to Terri would be unproductive except by some random association with the true intended (but unknown to us) scapegoat and would be more of a needle in a haystack activity. However, it wouldn’t hurt to scan the cast of characters again with this in mind.
    Why bother?
I think if someone included trying to incriminate someone else as part of their plan, the knowledge of who that potential scapegoat might be could provide a valuable “reflection in a mirror.”

All this is MOO in response to Blink’s invitation to jump in. :)

We know who early said “If not Teri, Who?”
Imo in ordinary circumstances, that misdirection would suggest
    involvement directly or indirectly.

I will say that statement is the OPPOSITE of investigative protocol. One forms theory from evidence directly- not the other way around.

All these six-year missing articles that I’ve read are missing something important. Not one reporter states that they tried to contact the MCSO office for an update on the case. Why not?”

A culture of laziness and incompetence in the journalist profession, Statewide.
like the PPS Supt & Admin.
    and MCSO.

I think parents have been working to elect better Sch Board members.
But again, they have a provincial fishing pond to do so from.
Some Boardmember majority needs to go on a study tour to 5/6 successful District
Supt Offices across the country on a learning tour. Then they need to fire Carole
and hire Ray Myrtle (see Harvard Business School study on his methods)
on a 3 year contract to clean the place up. He’d fire half
the Admin, and retrain all teachers, and fix the curriculum.

@TRuth. If Blink’s profile fits, he didn’t need to know the school didn’t call the home when
a child is absent without a note. If they did, say in an hour or two, he still had plenty of time
for that quick gratification she posited. She said he could go to ground quickly, and we have seen he coukd
get to rural southern Washington within a couple hours.

Given your list and what a targeter of Teri as perp would know,
I hope the interview includes her ordinary routine with kiara. Due to those
sleepless nights, did she ordinarily go right back home and take a nap with her?
Was it out of the ordinary for her to go to successive Meyers such that she had a
time stamoed alibi? Some see that as inculpatory. But if she had not done that, and
ordinarily wouldn’t, the targeter would’ve planned the abduction for a time when she
    had no alibi.
