Kyron Horman Missing Case: Terri Horman Breaks Her Silence In People Magazine Interview

New York, NY-  For nearly five and a half years Terri Horman has refused to speak publicly about her step-sons case.  Outside of one assertion of her innocence while on the stand in a name change hearing she ultimately was denied, Horman did not speak to any reporters or answer any of their questions regarding Kyron Hormans disappearance. Until Now.

Horman courtesy of People

Horman was interviewed by People Magazines Elaine Aradillas for both the print and online editions,  and will be doing a series of personal interviews over the next week, to include wwww.blinkoncrime.com.

In the brief online video excerpt , the second part to air on ABC’s Good Morning America Friday morning,  Horman  maintains she is deaf in her left ear, a critical factor in the outcome of her first polygraph.

“… At what point are Kyron’s biological parents going to realize I don’t have the answers, they need to change this thing around…”

“…There is so much the public is not being told about this investigation, that’s why I am doing this- nobody is looking for Kyron…”

Horman’s interview drew sharp reactions from Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, Kyron’s parents.

“…Why is she silent for 5 1/2 years if she is innocent.  I want her to tell me where Kyron is.  If she is innocent she should call Multnomah County Sheriffs Office and sit down for an interview…”-  Desiree Young

“Hi friends. Yes I am well aware of the tabloid journalism piece in the media today. FYI – there will be more of the same coming Friday
We have a HOST of MCSO and FBI investigators STILL standing by with interviews and polygraphs when someone actually wants to cooperate. FEEL FREE TO STOP BY THEY ARE WAITING!! STILL!! Until then we’ll stick with the scores of people with valid/accurate information and the failed polygraphs as the only actual actions taken to-date.  To all of you: how about not linking the article/interview?
REMEMBER KYRON?!?!? This is what we need to be focused on!!
Love you Kyron!!” – Kaine Horman post on his Facebook Page

Christina Stoy, www.blinkoncrime.com Editor In Chief was able to confirm with Ms. Horman directly that she has been willing to meet with Kyron’s investigators both previously and in the future with the sole provision that it be conducted in the presence of her Attorney,  Portland criminal defense lawyer Stephen Houze.

Horman went on to say that investigators with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office have been well aware of “that” over the last five and a half years and they have never requested an interview.  Um, What?

Horman reveals some shocking details about the subsequent polygraphs examinations referenced by Kaine Horman and Desiree Young and other allegations of improper tactics on behalf of MCSO in the second half of her interview to air tomorrow morning on abc’s GMA and on Nightline.

Sources: Heinrich Led FBI To Jacob Wetterling’s Remains

    http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2016/09/03/breaking-news-heinrich-told-fbi-where-he-says-they-will-find-wetterling/

Thank you for posting this erose. I have worked on Jacobs case privately a bit.

    A few things of importance:
    1. LE was fixated on a very different suspect until very recently. When I say fixated, I mean they made the wrong suspects life a walk in the park compared to Terri Hormans.
    2. Heinrich is a serial offender, there are other unknown victims.
    3. The FBI assumed juridiction, and solved this case because they are the proper agency to do so.
    4. I pray for this family today, and I pray that Kyron and his family are not forced to under the torture this family is going through because of LE error.

Well, didn’t Rudi have a white truck? and he would be familiar to Kyron.

  3. rose says:

@TRuth. It’s campaign time, opponent or not, for the Staton unexpired term, followed by another 4 yr election when that term ends, when imo he will be challenged, perhaps by Riddell (primary is 5/17 iirc). Ergo imo Reese’s only interest is charging the person he can stick it to, NOT a new investigation with sn iffy solution in a SZ. He wants this job. So my Q is how close he is to Underhill to get a charge brought against Terri. Underhill would know a trial would be after the 11/17 election. this is all political, not how good the case is.

  4. rose says:

TRuth. He wants the patrol union and commanders’ endorsements.
no way he’ll embarass them with a redo.

look at the early lead case mgrs June-July 2010. iirc Shults lived with them. Gates and Reiser were command leaders on site. look at the org chart. no way in heck Reese will take on these guys’ investigation, ever. TY’s
only hope if he wants a solution rather than bringing charges against Terri is to meet amd insist he transfer jurisdiction to the fbi now. Given his wife’s unwavering stance, I doubt it. Reese is close to Underhill unlike Staton. Reese can bring charges now (or more likely after this election but before the 2017 primary) for publicity, and DA drop them just before trial.

@Golden ATG. wrt “in the ignorance and lack of experience of the judge ”
Meisenheimer, who handled the case from inception til retirement, was the most seasoned juvenile judge and family court judge on the bench. I saw him as overweening, and arrogantly so. So lack of experience was not his achilles heel. A sense of invulnerbility on the bench in those type cases, along with Favors for friends and former ADA colleagues, dictated his case mgmt imo.

If it ever comes to light RS was involved, and he perjured himself in the depo, Rackner and Engels are in a h of a lot of trouble, presenting him to testify to the truth of the FAPA that stole custody entirely from TH without vetting his allegations.

Are you kidding- if RSE was ever indicted or indictable (as it were) TH would be in the paddy wagon behind him. Technically, just about the only way anyone gets sanctioned is when/if they could compel O’Donnell to corroborate his impressions. That said- RSE was not involved.

re our little colored squares -
I went from a nice brown to a sort of yellow-green. I liked the brown better, but the main thing was that I used to scroll backwards quickly using just the colored square to look for something I said that connected to something new I was reading – so there was a practical use for it.
I have not gone back far enough to see if the change goes all the way back to the start of squares. Either way, I’ll get over it. :)

Haiku for the heck of it. Wonder what shade my words will take on.

I shed a tear today, for the Wetterling Family. My heart hurts for them, or maybe just the memory of the pain it reminds me of in my own family. It saddens me that Jacob was not found alive, tho I didn’t have as much hope with him as I have with Kyron’s case. I still hold hope they locate Kyron in that once fantasized tale where he watched a black and white tv in the blue haired lady’s basement, eating chicken nuggets from a TV tray…

I want a new age enhanced photo of Kyron, looking more like his brother Quinn at the age of 14. Kyron’s 14th birthday is next Friday… I remember the ‘parties’ at Bullwinkle’s those first years. I”m glad they stopped doing that. I used to hope someone would drop him off to eat his own cake, but was always disappointed when he never showed up.

    Dammit, where is this child?!

Hart’s own abuse suffered in residential treatment, and so on suggested to me the guilt Henrich carried (unjustly)
for his own molestation perhaps in part led to his hope for expiation of his sense of guilt in
pointing out Wetterling’s body. This made me think of the guilt feelings Kristian (& likely Kaine) carried
into adulthood over their own molestation by a family member and how it likely affected marital (un)success.. So I
looked up Kristian & all I can say is the woman he had an infant son by then has achieved more in a few
years than many women in a lifetime. What a gogetter. She reminds me of Terri’s umph and parenting
and pursuit of education, but she excelled I suspect due to sibling support and an extensive social support system.
    But not with Kristian alongside.

  17. Tiny says:

I’ve been reading about Jacob Wetterling. The articles, and Blink, seem to indicate this could have been solved long ago. Is that correct, Blink?
I’m of the firm belief that Kyron could have been solved long ago if so many people and agencies weren’t engaged in CYA.
How very sad and scary. Prayers for Jacob and his family today.

I am admittedly salty over the fact that it took the transfer of the case to the FBI to catch Heinrich- and to test a sample of his DNA they had for 25 years.

Very important message here- LE was wrong, they had tunnel vision on another POI they harassed directly or through others for several years. This sick SOB victimized others and Jacob waits 27 years to be recovered.

Since the projects were already all up and running, I think it would be far more likely, if this was the scenario, for someone to be asking for help with something that had to do with the talent show. Which was held, where? Refresh my memory guys. Was there anything going on at all during the science fair in the same location where the talent show was going to be held? If not, then possibly an isolated building at the time Kyron disappeared. ???

  22. T. Ruth says:

O/T Never mind, after reading, they did question this dude on Jared’s case, but let him go.

Talk about botched police work. Good grief.

    HEINRICH’S CRIMINAL HISTORY

Heinrich’s first encounter with law enforcement came in 1982 with a DWI charge, followed by misdemeanor charges in two burglary incidents in Paynesville and another DWI in 1986. His name surfaced again in January 1989, after 12-year-old Jared Scheierl was snatched off the streets of Cold Spring, taken to a remote location nearby and sexually assaulted.

Jared assisted law enforcement by describing his attacker in great detail – a pudgy man in his 30s, approximately 5’6″ to 5’7″, 170 pounds, with dark brown hair and eyes, fat ears that stick out, bushy eyebrows and crooked bottom teeth. He was also able to provide valuable information about the kidnapper’s vehicle, both on the interior and exterior side, as well as other details about the man’s behavior and clothing – primarily camouflage attire.

Jared also willingly helped create a composite sketch, which was used in collaboration with other sketches developed in the Wetterling case. With the combined information, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office pegged Heinrich as fitting the suspect description in Scheierl’s kidnapping and assault case three days after it happened. Not only did the physical description match, but Heinrich’s vehicle – a 1987 dark blue Mercury Topaz 4-door, with light blue interior – was also strikingly similar to the 12-year-old’s recollection.

Jared was interviewed on multiple occasions after Jacob’s abduction nine months later, as investigators suspected there was a link between the two incidents. Paynesville authorities also relayed information to officials, noting that Heinrich had been questioned regarding his possible involvement in eight physical and/or sexual assaults in the Paynesville area between 1986 and 1988.

In February 1990, Heinrich was arrested on probable cause for the kidnapping and sexual assault of Jared, though Heinrich was later released without being charged.

From the court documents I linked in the other post, this dude also had a *hobby* of taking known sexually abused children’s photos, as well as photos taken from children’s yearbooks and cutting and pasting their head on other sexually explicit photos. This brings me back to Kyron, I’ve asked this before, but I would like to know if LE has in their possession all the photos that TMH noted in her Facebook page that she had taken at the Skyline event and gave to Keefer? Were all those photos confiscated by LE? Heinrich also had in his possession clothing that would fit young children, which reminds me of that strange dude (in NY, iirc) who was buying up kid-sized Kyron missing t-shirts by the bundles as well as kid-size undies on KH’s old ebay site, and calling Kyron “Special K”. Creeeeeps me out to this day.

LE has had control of TH’s facebook from day one until it was returned to her Atty.

    ot
    this makes sense:
“Friedberg believes it means Heinrich will plead guilty to the child pornography charges and not be prosecuted for Jacob’s murder. As part of the deal it could mean Heinrich serves the rest of his life in a better federal prison.
“I can’t imagine that he said, ‘Look, I’ve done this and I’ve lived with it for so long I’d like to get rid of it,’” Friedberg said. “My guess is some form of immunity was given to him so he would lead them to where Jacob’s remains are.”
Friedberg also says state law states that a victims’ family would first have to sign off on such a plea deal. Meaning, the Wetterling’s would have agreed to this if Heinrich lead authorities to Jacob’s remains.”

Ruthless or whatever, I think now Sheriff Reese has an opportunity to wash his hands of a mishandled MCSO case, and if he does not, that will ultimately tell me something. I’m just not sure what yet.
    ————
Since Mike Reese was Portland police chief before being MCSO sheriff I think he will stick with his brothers in blue. So if there is a MCSO coverup or secrets that need to be kept probably he will be just as mum as everyone else when it comes to info about Kyron’s case. I am hoping for some disclosure if the MCSO DA Rod Underhill is replaced by someone else. I think they really need to turn the case over to the FBI if the FBI will take it.

Sometimes it seems like there isn’t much investigation into Kyrons case because of things LE does not want uncovered.

To your very astute point about “the bad guy” being on the radar immediately- you are 100% correct. Most especially in sexually-motivated child abduction cases- right now, in my data bank, I can’t think of one which did not include any early interview with an eventual suspect. Very, very common. So common in fact, whenever I analyze a case (sans a crime scene) my first request is ALWAYS early interview files.

I wish Desiree would come out every quarter in a fireside chat with a tv reporter to keep Kyron’s name before the public. She doesn’t need to say Teri Did It in any interviews if some prohibition against that is what’s stopping her.

Ie, She could begin with a talk to Portland parents:
as school begins again, the loss of my son kyron from a portland public school is a reminder to all parents to cautiously monitor their childrens’ school safety policy as well as hiw effectively their staff implements them in practice. After a little homily kicked off on Back to School Safety issues, she could talk about Kyron and humanize him with an age progressed pic. That’s all she needs to do. If she couldn’t go in to see Reese, maybe she’s not able tho.

No, not a re-do, but a hand-off. Reese should wash his hands of anything Staton messed up, and in Kyron’s case it would simply mean handing the case over to the FBI. All commanders under him (Staton), could all use the same reasoning: e.g., *Even though some of us wanted to expand the investigation down other paths, to do so would have been risking our jobs, because it was his way or the highway! We were forced to do some things we were uncomfortable doing, and some of us felt way back in 2010/11, we should have passed this case on to the FBI because it was beyond our scope of experience and expertise, blah blah blah.*

Although in the case of the DA’s office’s involvement, not sure what that would make *them* look like, they certainly weren’t under Staton’s thumb.

  47. A Texas Grandfather says:

Maybe Reese will do the right thing and request an FBI cold case squad to take a look at Kyron’s case. However, he may not do that because it may expose officers from MCSO for poor behavior.

I don’t think the chief agent in charge of the Portland office has enough experience in missing persons to lead a quality investigation. That is assuming that the same agent at the time of the abduction is still in charge. His expertise was white collar crime.
