Kyron Horman Missing Case: Terri Horman Breaks Her Silence In People Magazine Interview

New York, NY-  For nearly five and a half years Terri Horman has refused to speak publicly about her step-sons case.  Outside of one assertion of her innocence while on the stand in a name change hearing she ultimately was denied, Horman did not speak to any reporters or answer any of their questions regarding Kyron Hormans disappearance. Until Now.

Horman courtesy of People

Horman was interviewed by People Magazines Elaine Aradillas for both the print and online editions,  and will be doing a series of personal interviews over the next week, to include wwww.blinkoncrime.com.

In the brief online video excerpt , the second part to air on ABC’s Good Morning America Friday morning,  Horman  maintains she is deaf in her left ear, a critical factor in the outcome of her first polygraph.

“… At what point are Kyron’s biological parents going to realize I don’t have the answers, they need to change this thing around…”

“…There is so much the public is not being told about this investigation, that’s why I am doing this- nobody is looking for Kyron…”

Horman’s interview drew sharp reactions from Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, Kyron’s parents.

“…Why is she silent for 5 1/2 years if she is innocent.  I want her to tell me where Kyron is.  If she is innocent she should call Multnomah County Sheriffs Office and sit down for an interview…”-  Desiree Young

“Hi friends. Yes I am well aware of the tabloid journalism piece in the media today. FYI – there will be more of the same coming Friday
We have a HOST of MCSO and FBI investigators STILL standing by with interviews and polygraphs when someone actually wants to cooperate. FEEL FREE TO STOP BY THEY ARE WAITING!! STILL!! Until then we’ll stick with the scores of people with valid/accurate information and the failed polygraphs as the only actual actions taken to-date.  To all of you: how about not linking the article/interview?
REMEMBER KYRON?!?!? This is what we need to be focused on!!
Love you Kyron!!” – Kaine Horman post on his Facebook Page

Christina Stoy, www.blinkoncrime.com Editor In Chief was able to confirm with Ms. Horman directly that she has been willing to meet with Kyron’s investigators both previously and in the future with the sole provision that it be conducted in the presence of her Attorney,  Portland criminal defense lawyer Stephen Houze.

Horman went on to say that investigators with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office have been well aware of “that” over the last five and a half years and they have never requested an interview.  Um, What?

Horman reveals some shocking details about the subsequent polygraphs examinations referenced by Kaine Horman and Desiree Young and other allegations of improper tactics on behalf of MCSO in the second half of her interview to air tomorrow morning on abc’s GMA and on Nightline.

maybe I’m belaboring Heidi Barker and her leap from Kyron’s ADA atty to Gov’s key aide with Lottery, Corrections, Homeland Security; Youth Authority ta da ti dum and so on. But Frink did not operate in a vacuum. She got the warrants, communicated with detectives (O’Donnell) and directed the investigation on the front lines while checking in with Supv Norm, unless Kitz lied in his press release upon her political apprmt. A Lady that politically connected and pretty, he coukd’ve covered for her. After all she’d recently gotten a major case loss with resultant very bad press and she needed redemption in the office.

Am I having serious deja vu right now? I can tell you Moawad dodged a misconduct bullet as well as the DA’s office in Moses. I have seen prosecutors have verdicts overturned and face sanctions for that behavior in court and in some cases even where an issue was not preserved by defense objection. And.. she was not even Sr. on the case- who supervised these people for active litigation?

I’m too tired to remember much of this, but at 12:4; am Fox’ Kelly (why was I checking into that channel goodness knows) and I watched a few minutes of her interview phil about burke. my conclusion is my opinion is Phil is a sociopathic psychological pedophile.

He said it’s not a cold case. He termed Burke “the Missing Link” because Burke has never been interviewed–until HIM! He said he asked Burke if he, or mother, killed JB.
We get to the Real Reason when Kelly says it’s not enough for you to have a top show blah blah, you must gave a second top show “Bull.” He replies “I MUST.”.

Burke said he was appearing “to honor my sister.” Who fed him that line? Imo father is so taken with
enjoying Newish Younger Wife, he’s inadequately supporting this young man.

Actually, unannounced and un promoted, John Ramsey appeared on Dr. Phil separate from Burke. I dvrd yesterdays show and watched it.
ID Discovery is a host of regurgitated cud which was designed to promote both the National Enquirer and ID Discovery brands. Needless to say, the National Enquirer’s history with the Ramsey case speaks for itself. If I were a betting person, I would bet Burke agreed to the interview to counter the NE coverage. Certainly not something Phil would suborn as I believe the ID network paid for a few spots during the show.

That said, anyone that has truly studied the JBR case, and probably had some inside access through consult or study (as I have) already knew Burke was interviewed extensively, and what those interviews contained. (See Wolf v Ramsey) Not gonna lie- as I see erroneous facts appear on the screen I want to hurl things.

He made it clear he’s using this sensational Fall show to promote “Bull.”
He said “I MUST” with the fervor that

  13. rose says:

@Houndog. It is natural to want to hear from TMH, and I trust her voice will be in Blink’s piece. Eventually. One Hopes. I am not familiar with all these threads. Iirc Harringtons spoke thru Blink’s voice as DDS did. I suspect Harringtons spoke to other media, but Kyle and other local reporters pan Teri for refusing local press interviews. The only person I recall posting directly is the now deceased mother of M Sharpton. She limited her postings to her anguish and memories of her daughter (not case facts) and perhaps even then her comments arose from a suicidal state of mind. Personally my opinion is unless TMH does interviews for local sources other than Blink, and even comments on their sites say O and kgw and katu, her commenting here is like Desiree commenting on Soldier. That came to no good end. Soldier’s FB came to be seen as the Voice of Desiree imo. And BOC would come to be seen as the rivalrous Voice of Teri. But it’s Blink’s site and business. And Teri’s.

Valid points, and as you all probably noticed I am letting much conversation develop without my two cents, lol. One of the many reasons I chose not to be TH’s first interview was because I did not wish to, and was advised not to, be perceived as a voice for TH per se. I have had one primary goal here since I began blogging if I wrote on a case I was working personally- and that was to contribute to progressing the investigation if not conclude it. I/we have been very successful in a multitude of cases but my focus and commitment to that goal has never waivered and Ms. Horman was made well aware of that. Facts matter. In the event a principal wished to post here in their own name, I authenticated them properly. Readers and posters will let me know- but I think Ms. Horman and I cover every conceivable question/answer she is able to.

Fresh reminder that in her latter years of being with the DA she was on Charlene’s CAT, trying child abuse cases. O’Donnell was on that team. So that team was involved with Horman somehow. I swear Kitz’s press release said
Kyron was her exclusive DA workload for a year in 2010-11 (supervised by whoever). Perhaps it was just Charlene’s way of delegating her to Rees et al to help out with paperwork to get her out of trying Courtroom cases. CA cases are very high pressure. An ADA has to paper them determining charges based on often soft info mediated thru a govt social worker and then be ready to walk right into Court and start the prelims of trying it.

    April 4, 2013

(Salem, OR) — Governor Kitzhaber today announced the appointment of Heidi Moawad as his Policy Advisor for Public Safety.

“Heidi’s extensive legal background, often focused on protecting the most vulnerable members of society, has helped her develop a keen understanding of public safety,” said Governor Kitzhaber. “As we look to invest in proven crime prevention and community corrections strategies instead of additional prison beds, I look forward to her contributions and insight to help keep our communities safe for all Oregonians.”

With more than 13 years experience practicing law, Ms. Moawad comes to the Governor’s Office from Multnomah County, where she has served as Deputy District Attorney and was most recently assigned to the Multi-Disciplinary Team handling both criminal felony and juvenile dependency cases involving child assaults and homicides. Prior to that, she received a one-year special assignment to work exclusively on a high-profile missing child case. Ms. Moawad’s legal experience includes major felonies, and she has handled cases on aggravated murders, vehicular homicides and assaults, robberies and burglaries, animal abuse, and drug use. She previously served as the Counsel to the Judiciary Committee in the Oregon State Legislature.

Ms. Moawad earned her J.D. from University of Oregon Law School and is a graduate of Whittier College in California, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science and Theatre.

O/T The JonBonet Ramsey case and the recent interview on Dr. P of her brother. One strange duck. I could hear myself saying “wipe that smile off your face”. That was my first impression, however, what I found intriguing, is that Burke many, many times referred to himself as just being a normal kid, and wanting to be a normal kid, and have normal life. Makes me think that he considered himself, not a normal kid. Like I’ve said before, I really haven’t followed that case, but the little clip of him being interviewed, something like 13 days after the murder, he’s 9 years old right? He didn’t act like a 9 year old to me. More like 6 or 7. Was he a special needs kid? I wonder if he had any older male friends who may have been interested in his little sister, and with whom he perhaps wanted desperately to be accepted by these friends? IDK, just thinking out loud. I’m sure ya’ll have discussed this to no end.

In rereading, my opinion is these complaints are not symptomatic of a suspicion of molestation or an opportunistic adult he coukd not speak about. Did not seem seizure related.
(Caveat: if seizure, or a physical basis, symptoms should have shown up in all environments with all caregivers.)
I thought mostly seemed like childhood schizophrenia, and went to look up the typical age of onset, only to find TLE (temporal lobe epilepsy in fact can mimic childhold schizophrenia but has important differentials such as a capacity for a warm affect in TLE.

“Ms. Moawad earned her J.D. from University of Oregon Law School and is a graduate of Whittier College in California, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science and Theatre.”
    —————————–

Theatre major ? – Perhaps SZ was thought to wear a theatrical disguise at some point. (sorry) Actually, we did consider that possibility here a few times.

“With more than 13 years experience practicing law, Ms. Moawad comes to the Governor’s Office from Multnomah County, where she has served as Deputy District Attorney and was most recently assigned to the Multi-Disciplinary Team handling both criminal felony and juvenile dependency cases involving child assaults and homicides. IMO – The words I find most interesting and useless in descriptions like this are “handling” and “handled.” That’s sort of what you say when you don’t want to say exactly what someone did, at what level, or what skills were required. We are to assume by the context what work she did and that she was successful with her “handling” work. Not saying she wasn’t, not saying she was.

Thanks for that link the judicial restroom dilemma, the comments alone are worth reading for a good laugh! This is the injustice that amazes me:

    The judges pushed back.

They offered cost-saving suggestions, such as cutting restrooms from the jury rooms, each of which has two.

The judges then asserted that fewer restrooms for them would actually be bad for the public.

Kantor said private restrooms were a matter of judicial efficiency, not personal comfort. He described a scenario in which all four courtrooms on a given floor all host trials simultaneously—and recess simultaneously for breaks and lunch.

“I believe this is going to take the average break in whatever court proceeding and double or triple the length of it,” Kantor said. “This is going to be a problem.” (Kantor didn’t respond to a request for comment.)

Each jury, if there are only two in session has two restrooms available, that’s one restroom for every six people. (Does he not think that if all jurors, including the GJ are released at the same time of day, break or lunch or whatever would not most likely have to eliminate at the same time?) Yet he wants one restroom for each and every judge? Am I reading that right? Comical.

I remember sitting on the GJ and being quite uncomfortable trying to wait for the next break, which I did, but when we were dismissed, every stall in the building was *occupied*.

What is he getting another show for This one is bad enough some days Like today I know I have became much more critical of a interviewer than I use to be and of the media the same

My major issue is that there is no disclosure as to editing- or if the ability to do that was contractual. I think viewers deserve to know what was in the contractual agreements made between the parties – and I can tell you at least as a standard appearance on Dr. Phil, that means Burke cannot give any other addressing his appearance or comments until after the final interview. That said, I am speculating as I have not seen the agreement I suspect is also covered by an NDA.

not only is Kantor’s narcissism on view, his reasoning skills are defunct. if 12 people using 3 bathrooms will slow down trials inefficiently, what does he think cutting jurors’ bathrooms by 50% would do? not to mention their
missing lunch to wait in line for a turn at the only bathroom he woukd give them. secure parking and a private entrance for judicial staff is another matter. now that’s efficient and necessary for public safety. Esp with the ilk on the family court bench. Not understandable that a County Courthouse is being built in a location without its own underground garage for the public and a secure area with elevator for Judges/their staff. So much for Homeland Security in Muktnomah.

  35. rose says:

I suppose if I’d chosen a local interview over the windbag, I’d have gone with WW’s Rachel Monahan (after asking why WW has stayed out of the scrum). Monahan is a Columbia U journalism grad who’s done a good job on her education assignment (PPS) and might have some interest in evaluating the investigation from the persoective of Ground Zero, the school. Could be a pulitzer if she goes back to keefer, matthew, exposes pps, mcso/da, judicial mgmt of the abduction, taking several months to do research. The LA Times guy took 7 months on the Kent Easter series. It would be a relief to have a reporter focus on government institutional actors rather than the family feuds and failures. one thing about phil, his work product will be family feud fodder.

  36. A Texas Grandfather says:

One of the things that has been exposed by this case is some of the inner workings of a local government including the school system. What we find is that it basically needs a big housecleaning.

This will not come about as long as the local media are shut down by LE and others. The people in the communities need to know what is really going on. This the job of the media. Report the facts and not an opinion. Shinning sunshine on all government activities allow the people to have information needed to elect quality people to serve in government.

I have always agree that the beginning of the investigation was derailed by PPS to protect their people. In addition, we have information that the people in control of the sheriff’s department are less than stellar and will jump on anything as an opportunity make themselves look good or to hide poor training and lack of experience in a particular area of LE operations.

I also think that Union politics has created a portion of the problem. Some may like the concept of Unions in government. Having a third party between the people and their government operations is a mistake and should never exist.

Along the lines of your post. It’s a start. Transparency or lack there of is key.

Ex-Deschutes County sheriff’s captain gets 5 years in prison

BEND, Ore. (AP) — A former Deschutes County Sheriff’s captain has been sentenced to five years in prison for stealing more than $200,000 from the county and using the funds to buy gifts for an ex-colleague.

The Bend Bulletin reports Scott Beard was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to charges of theft and money laundering.

Beard is accused of stealing the money between 2014 and 2015 while he oversaw the finances of a regional drug task force.

Court records allege he gave at least $100,000 to former sheriff’s office employee Krista Mudrick with whom he had a romantic relationship.

Mudrick is expected to plead guilty Monday to making false statements to federal agents.

A little humor (maybe), years ago, I purchased some little coffee-table books, that were called “What Ever Happend To?”, you know they would ask about things like “bloomers” “hoop-skirts” “rouge” or “snuff boxes”. I think these little booklets could now be expanded to include some far more heavy-weight items, such as: What ever happened to “roll models”? Gone the way of the buffalo I fear.

I wonder what task force it was. I think that makes the 4th Sheriff in Oregon in proximity that had substantive turmoil.

I think I would contact Nick Budnick, at the Tribune. (Who btw, used to hang his hat at the O) I didn’t realize he was one of the ones who broke this:

Cover Oregon interim executive director Clyde Hamstreet, center, and interim chief information officer Alex Pettit, left, speak with reporters in Durham, Ore., Friday, April 25, 2014. Hamstreet later prepared a scathing report on Cover Oregon, kept under wraps until Nick Budnick, a member of the investigative team of Oregonian/Oregonlive, forced its disclosure. I also didn’t realize that Nick is married WW’s Beth Slovic, seems another good reporter interested in facts. You tell me, you seem to be able to dig better than I.

LOL, I seem to be sounding more and more like good ol’ Sargeant Friday, “just the facts ma’am”. Seriously though, that’s all I want to hear.

How virtuous. Is Kyron’s detective any more active?

No original det’s are assigned to his case any longer.

Blink I have a question in regards to the Ramsey case. I believe you have stated you believe the family is innocent. I am following the case on another site and it was mentioned that there where sweater fibers from Patsy’s sweater on the duct tape used to cover JB mouth. Can you explain first if you know if that is true or not?And second, how the sweater fibers could have gotten there? Thanks!

I believe there is zero actual evidence that points to criminal conduct involving JBR by her parents, and that there is actual physical DNA evidence, (3 qualifying profiles) extracted from 2 different articles of clothing and one profile is actually comingled with JBR’s blood- via a sexual torture injury that was inflicted during an assault which occurred shortly before death. (antemortem.)

There were fibers consistent with Patsy’s red sweater allegedly located on the duct tape that was removed from JBR’s mouth by her Father, with his hand, which then stuck to the blanket taken from JBR’s bed. The first order of business would be to determine, with forensic certainty- the chain of evidence of the item and findings. We are not going to be privy to that, so let’s assume it was collected properly, contained properly, and tested properly without further contamination. That’s a generous assumption on our part in the first place because the protocol for conducting testing on an item where we are triaging trace evidence in the first place is very strict.

    1. Fiber analysis, most especially in 1996- is largely unreliable. In fact, its usage and verbiage during testimony put the FBI (and many other LEA’s) under investigation by the DOJ over it, starting in cases 1993- onward, iirc. I would want to see any and all Ramsey evidence reviewed under current procedures and acceptance practices. JBR wore a red turtleneck at some point Christmas eve/ Christmas day- and it was left in her bathroom according to Patsy.
    2. Patsy Ramsey wore that red sweater Christmas Day and Christmas morning. She dressed JBR in PJ’s. John and JBR came into contact with both Mom and daughter several times over the prior 24 hours. I would absolutely expect to see a menagerie of transfer fibers and the like from people that are supposed to be there. I woule be WAY>>>> more concerned with trace and fiber evidence that could not be sourced or deposited via normal Locard-esque means.
    3. The duct tape did not come from the Ramsey home and has never been sourced to them.

@CD That was funny cache vs cash Are you saying the soldier claims to have already seen Dr Phil interview
I wonder if she will ever realize that the main reason Kyron hasn’t been found is
Her constant trying to keep all the attention on Terri. Has she ever done anything
Besides getting in the berry bushes on a search And try to force Terri on the world
Oh yes I do give her credit for keeping up the Wall Of Hope. But her always talking about
Terri hasn’t Found Kryon. Not even close

    Has not.

Also can you clarify again what happened with Terri’s polygraph tests. And did I make this up or did Kaine also fail a test?

    Will be in piece Meg.
