Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

For people who have not dug deep, the major revelation should have been that the landscaper back pedaled his MFH accusation in court and claimed he was pressured into the story by LE. To me, Oregonians, or at least Multnomah-ians should pay close attention to this statement and PM should have announced he had his producers verify this fact with court records. Where was the OMG, you were wrongly accused of a MFH which turned your husband and your community against you, if they weren’t already.

Exactly erose. What is beyond maddening to me is that if one made their mind up TH was “guilty” of whatever happened to Kyron because of their conclusion from a reasonable analogy that if one solicited to kill their spouse- then one was capable of “secreting or worse” his son. Oh, and one more thing new (or not): TMH says that “in the beginning” attorney’s advised her not to speak. She appears to be talking about the time before she hired one. I would like to know which attorney and just who said attorney was representing asked her not to speak. Was that Intel’s legal, who we know KH contacted no less than a day after Kyron went missing? Or was it Rackner? Just which attorney is she referring to when she makes this statement. Names please. Which LE officer told her not speak? Which attorney? I see no problem in giving out names at this point. She literally made no friends of LE in this episode, she is literally calling them out. So name names already.

    (Nick Budnick, where are you?)

Lindstrand on the issue of “lying to the media”
Houze advised her not to speak initially, as would any attorney.

  3. A Texas Grandfather says:

With the small class sizes of today’s primary schools there is no excuse for a teacher to not know when someone is missing.

The maximum class size in primary schools for Texas is 22 students. In New Jersey, some districts require an assistant for the primary teachers. That means two adults in the room.

It is unbelievable that a school district in this time operates or operated without a check in and check out system for pupils.

It is too bad that TH had a lawyer that didn’t look out for her best interests and allowed a court to walk all over her rights.

I would say Porter did not believe Kyron was missing, but with TH at his sisters Dr. appt (that occurred the day before) He was marked absent. This is on Porter no matter how you slice it. Straight up standard of care negligence.

    Two folliwup Qs for Teri:
    1) when she told Kaine she was “unhappy in the marriage,” did she ever explicitky use the word “divorce”?
Did she say I am considering filing for divorce?
    2) If Yes, did she ever explicitly tell Kaine in that divorce she woukd seek custody of Kyron?
    —-
Best interests if the chikd and all tgat, imo she had a shot?
    Desiree turned pursuing custody down.
Terri’d been a joint caregiver since 3 days and
handked all medical and school. Kaine had the
affairs and steroids and zero school.

Pretty clear Porter does what is expedient for herself. Since she
was in charge of public portion planning on 6/4, she likely did the presentations 6/3.
And she likely didn’t want a teacher like Terri in her classroom whatever it took
to get her out of there.

Any dummy associated with any LE Dept or DA Office knows they cannot
contact any person directly who is represented by an attorney.
It woukd get an ADA sanctioned to do that. You pick

Staton was particularly dense and acted outside normal behavior, so Houze
apparently wrote him saying Teri is available for interview at yr request
accompanied byher attorney. Blink has said MCSO never asked Houze to
bring her down to the station for an interview.

    Never. Not once.
Why would the DA contact Houze in the first place? I doubt he is scheduling for MCSO- and he obviously did not ask for an interview and this Rees’s assignment.

Because wrt this case, no local reporter from any publication since WW dropped out of coverage entirely has an investigatory or truthful arrow in their professional quiver about the most basic of facts in the abduction, with kgw, katu, and O vying for the crown of incompetents. Which makes Gunderson’s opining on Portlanders want transparency wrt Saltzmann a joke, really. Double standard. O wants it from govt officials in certain cases like housing development but not in others like criminal investigations, and the O gives itself a pass on their own operations.

    http://www.oregonlive.com/trending/2016/09/desiree_young_responds_to_terri_horman_dr_phil.html#incart_river_mobile_home

“Young, in her conversation with KDRV, alleged that Terri Horman was the only person who was responsible for Kyron the morning he disappeared, June 4, 2010.
“The main point of all of this that was missed in that entire interview is that Kyron relied on one person that day — to take care of him to keep him safe — one person. And that one person failed,” she said. “And that’s really the bottom line in this.”

Actually Porter (and Skyline School) was the only “person” responsible for K when he was abducted. It has long been clear Desiree played no regular role in mothering, and she had 5 long years to contest Kaine’s custody and never sought custody.
    —-
I don’t think Desiree’s statements have ever come from animus to Terri over Desiree’s marriage dissolution. Imo her statements have always been consistently those of a very concrete thinker with great mental rigidity and short on bandwidth. That this is what the O chose to feature is laughable.

You know, if that had been Desiree’s position all along, I could reasonably agree with that standard in the beginning. It’s true. I have heard Desiree lament transferring care to Terri because she trusted her and believed she was doing a good job. To that extent, 6 years ago I think that sentiment was a reasonable reaction before diligence.
Honestly- that statement is one the most constructive and healthy things I have ever heard her say. From a factual perspective it is untrue. From a legal perspective it is also untrue. Legally, when that student is placed in the school the duty of care transfers to the school. From that point either the standard of care failed him, someone tasked with executing that standard of care or both. As we discussed long ago the anticipated defense would be that this was not a regular school day or activity but a “special event”. In my view, it fails every time on every means test.

Gonna point something else out from an interview analyst perspective- notice how Terri Horman has NEVER changed her story about parting from Kyron in the hallway as he headed into his classroom? Not one time. She NEVER says I saw him go into his classroom and then headed down the steps. Wouldn’t a dishonest person attempting to avoid blame, or I guess even place blame, say that? I will let my interviews on the topic in her own words speak to that- but wrt to her comments during Phil- as a result of several court depositions she KNOWS where Kyron was next. She has never, ever changed that observation. For me, that is noteworthy. It is a huge deal considering this woman was at one time in 3 different court actions- all of which would have benefited her position to say she saw him enter the class.

Deceptive people under the kind of scrutiny she has been (kind word) frequently change a nuance to their story to deflect tension- most especially when they learn it can be corroborated.

On Desiree’s comments about Terri being held accountable for “the interview filled with lies”. Does it bother anyone else she accuses Terri of lying throughout the interview and wants her held accountable but never identifies what she is lying about. I mean, Terri quite clearly corrected the information Desiree gave Phil about the morning of 6/4/10 as one example. Moreover, when the interviewer said to Desiree- what would you like to say, moving past the Dr. Phil interview, you know, about searches to find your son. She wants TH to talk to LE and not the media. Why doesn’t it bother her that the media is requesting to speak to her but LE is not. Not in 6 years.

It is interesting Teri made every effort to get both boys out from under K’s roof, and had to do so with James a weekend K was out of town. Tried to get Desiree to file for custody despite representing herself as the true mother feeling as close to kyron as her birth children. What about K’s fathering provoked such desperation to get the 2 boys to other homes? One keeps Kristian’s family history defense in mind.
I also wonder what role Tony plays, and why, in Desiree’s inflexible unrealistic targeting ofTerri.

my takeaway is on this specific case, this press release confirms Reese and Alexander will lie tothe public as determinedly as Lindstrand and Staton did. It is most disheartening Desiree buys in. This was an ordinary Sept volunteer intake training enterprise used for mcso PR at Phil time.

  10. rose says:

TRuth rightly notes the Portland coverup of the governmental steroid buyers named “officers”, nit “deputies.”
    http://www.oregonlive.com/clackamascounty/index.ssf/2010/05/canby_steroid_suppliers_cooper.html
thus is May 2010, just as Reese took over, just before Kyron was taken. And Terri’s turning in Kaine’s supplier rolled this group up–not that it was very rolled up. iirc Sgt Brown was allowed to retire. Iirc no other LE purchasers were
arrested after this article came out and the first purge in Clackamus. The then Multnomah DA chose not to prosecute LE purchasers Traverso named: firefighters, university security police, police, and I bet there were steroid users in tge DA’s office (thinking of a older retiree whose muscles rippled).

I don’t think Reese dodged his PPB contract responsibility over crime on school properties due to his officers’ using. I think he was smart enough to know the case woukd be a budget buster for which he’d not get the kinda $ from the City govt that the County govt dished to Staton, likely was an unsolveable stranger abduction, and had too much on his plate with the Feds and the mentally ill.

  11. rose says:

what I think is Mike and Rod were chatting (Rod being an endorser) and Rod dropped a throw away tidbit like: I ran into Steve. He’s still repping Terri. Or, Maybe in view of Phil, Mike called Rod for a brief briefing. Mike then passed this tidbit on to Alexander as tho it was news. And so it goes in Alexander’s press release. Game of telephone.

Well, I don’t think there is any ambiguity that statement was issued by Captain Alexander on behalf of both MCSO and the DA’s office. So, either that “framing” is incorrect, requires clarification, (I don’t know a DA’s office that issues statements through one of the LE agencies they support) or Alexander, with approval released a statement of which the intent was to give the impression MCSO attempted to gain an interview and was denied? Because that did not happen.

How about the fact that it is absolutely true and she was a victim to it through the investigation because she irrefutably was.

TMH says Keefer, Hall & Porter were all ready and waiting for them when they got to the school after leaving the bus stop. This is when she says Porter said she “thought” TMH was taking Kyron with her to the baby’s doctor appointment.

So, was there ever a discussion between Ms. Porter & Ms. Horman about any kind of doctor appointment for the baby? If not, why would she (Porter) even use that as some kind of excuse. TMH tells us that she dropped Kyron’s project off on the morning of 6/3 and put it in a corner with others. She specified on Phil, that the teacher didn’t say anything. Did she have any conversation with Ms. Porter on 6/3? Did she have any conversation with Ms. Porter on 6/4? If so, what was said?

This makes no sense to me. I always thought Porter was saying she thought she (Horman) took Kyron to a doctor appointment. (Based on the alleged (by Finster) paperwork that was allegedly given to Porter by Horman on 6/3.)

Kyron was supposed to be in the talent show, why on earth would his teacher think Terri would pull him out to accompany she and the baby to the babies appointment? Makes no sense.

Recent search, at a golf course? Geeze, maybe they were looking for the infamous golf balls.

    ******************

I am wondering now if DY & TY were both fed erroneous reactionary information by LE on purpose. If DY was truly shown hate emails, and they don’t exist, then someone had to make them up. Kinda’ like making up a MFH. Weren’t these alleged hate emails that DY claims she saw, weren’t they the beginning of her split from the dynamic duo every Friday interviews? Was something given to DY to break up her and Kaine’s joint “team” posture on purpose? (Remember DY also alleged there was more than one MFH. Who was feeding her this chit?)

I believe I can say that there are no emails that could be perceived as hateful to Kyron.

    *************

Really? This is the main point? Nope. The main point is finding Kyron, finding the truth. PPS failed Kyron that day, Desiree, what do you have to say about them?

Desiree needs to look in the mirror. A lot of what she says in this interview applies to her as well.

    This case is so sad.

I knew the content of this interview last week. Hopefully everyone can see why I decided to not publish my work in front of it.
I think Phil did a fair job and I think Desiree, Kaine and LE can say Terri is doing what she thinks will advance this case.

  25. Ragdoll says:

Not being facetious….DY struggles with a form of mental illness? It appears she has difficulty grasping what happened the day Kyron went missing. Almost clueless…or denial. Perhaps there’s an inability to process the details? That, or Kaine is pulling the wool over her eyes and she’s buying what he’s selling. (I do not understand that man, btw! Why so keen on selling out his wife???) I don’t think she understands the severity of her accusations towards TH or that they are ambiguous at best. Does she get the timeline and events of that day? I’m not so sure.

Well then those mcso dolts and their Calif contracted ping consultant should’ve gotten all the pingers in the 7-11 location at that time and traced their before and afters.

I have to say, watching the Lemmings at the lemmingade hole is quite the scene. A recent post from Desiree on Green’s FB spins my head. Did you hear her say there is no cell tower in 2010 on Sauvie and there are traffic cams that proved she was not there on June 4th as investigators told everyone?

How is it possible that one cannot listen and quote? If I believed this woman was responsible for my missing child- I would know every syllable that came out of her mouth without need of repetition. Dy is posting proof the Science Fair took place on June 4th, not June 3rd. Terri NEVER said the Science Fair was not on June 4th, SHE SAID the presentations that accompanied the projects, by the kids, took place on June 3rd, not June 4th as parents (at least in Porters class I have interviewed) were told. Terri learned the morning of the 4th just by asking when they were taking place. Why the Hell does she not already know that? I knew, MCSO knew, the DA knew, parents and teachers knew, and by my count there are at least 4 court depositions stating the same thing. The only thing she accomplished is furthering how removed she was from her sons schedule and school.

Instead of not listening and launching hate grenades because CLEARLY Dr. Phil believes Terri Horman and allowed her to discount statements made directly by her and she did so quite effectively, why wouldn’t she take an inventory and get on the phone with Underhill. They are expecting her or Kaine’s call.

the Hater Crater FB Puppeteer has been Drawn Out!
DD Young joins the convo posting on her surrogate site, Soldier’s FB. Her purpose is to accuse Terri of lies for saying the SF was on 6/3. A convo Which Stacey Soldier started. Anyone who saw yesterday’s program knows Terri referred to kyron’s class’s SF presentations which were supposed to occur 6/4, but occurred 6/3 in line with previous “off day” presentations in Porter’s class like the Bridges when Porter made unannounced change ups. . Desiree, having apparently not darkenedthe school door in 3 years after the first day of K really has no righteous talking points about school activities.

I just posted that, lol. But I certainly do appreciate your attention to detail to immediately make that distinction.

Desiree has foolishly put more than one post on her surrogate Hate Site?
Tony, get home ftom work and hold her hand.

  40. rose says:

oh reading back I see you already addressed Desiree’s wierd “I’m not listening” FB accusations.
The DA listening for Kaine’s call?
    Hell will freeze over first.
If Terri’s out as a suspect, he’s in, or his
associations. So are the Youngs’ work & historical
    associations.
Not without a criminal attorney who writes Reese, make apptmts thru me.
And he won’t spend that retention money imo.
    My prediction is laying low.

Unbelieveable the O Seniors have tasked young Eder to be the
fall guy writer on Terri Horman et al. We all know who those failed
reporters are: Max, Lynn, Noelle, Aimee, and sometimes Jim.
Eder has been pranked. He is clueless of the O’s 6 year hx
on this case. And clearly the Lady Koffee Klub didn’t want
to be held accountable for their past.

poor youthful Eder. He’s assigned to Watch TV and regurgitate (very poorly I might add, having seen live updates from prior horman venues), while Max gets to sit in Ammon’s Courtroom. She should share THAT gig with the young. Tho not Eder. He’s remarkably undetailed for a techie.

Sister Kelly is now claiming that she and Desiree found the cell tower on Sauvie Island. It’s like trying to deal with the Trump statements that are just flat-out Fabrications. How do you argue with that? That seems deluded to me.

There was no cell tower on Sauvie Island, don’t take my word for it- one can easily research the rejected proposal for one, or call the FCC. We know exactly what towers TH phone pinged from and it is not on Sauvie. I have come to the conclusion they know their target audience and they have zero contact with MCSO. They ban anyone with a difference of opinion so who would ever look it up anyway? Its not like they would ever post- oh yeah, there isnt, shit.

7/11? don’t leave me to fantasy.

    (details in my piece)
On June 3, a man stopped at the 7-11 in Scappoose on MSH Rd and asked the clerk where the nearest gradeschool was. The clerk responded do you mean Skyline? Guy was talking on a cell phone pacing back and forth caught on CCTV. I know more, but thats the gist. Note the search area Sunday.

That comes directly on the heels of MCSO and the DA finding out what Terri told Phil.
    B

This is so disheartening…..please tell me someone preserved this tape.

It was preserved. It is my feeling that the search Sunday was prompted by the knowledge Terri revealed the information on Dr. Phil. Certainly cant be accused of never following up in 6 years, can we?

@Blink. MCSO SAR (a buncha kids mostly)
    has targeted Kyron (ostensibly)
in regular training exercises for a
    number of years,

yes, that’s how it gets funded.

  48. rose says:

    Sister Kelly, like Trump, has
    inherent conflict, called $ solicitation.

  49. rose says:

Well MCSO didnt share H30 7-11 dude info
w/The Sisters bcz Kelly never pinned that for a search

    Correct. Nor Kaine.
