Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

Regarding the outstanding warrant for TH:

Most LE agencies have someone assigned to keeping up with outstanding warrants for their county and other nearby counties or perhaps an entire state if the area is not large. Federal warrants get the same treatment.

Marysville is in Yuba county about 30 miles North of Sacramento on the East side of the river across from Yuba City. Hwy. 99 (The Golden State Highway) passes through Yuba City.

Normal stop procedure for an offense that requires a ticket, the officer will use his computer in the car to check the outstanding warrant list kept by a city or county. If they get a hit, then they have to make an arrest and make arraignment for transfer of the prisoner to the jurisdiction issuing the warrant.

I drove highway 99 in 1999 on our trip South from Canada for the purpose of seeing the farm land up close. We left I-5 a few miles South of Redding and drove it all the way to Modesto where our No.3 son lived at the time. Stopped at Sacramento to visit the Old Sacramento area and the Southern Pacific railroad museum.

The crazies in Portland have made a new statement to companies in the area. The city council passed an ordinance that would tax any company that pays their CEO more than some small multiple of the average pay of the working people. The tax is destined to pay costs associated with homeless people in the city.

Companies will leave and soon everyone will be homeless. Good old social justice hard at work.

    @mbs.

thank you for the thoughtful response and remarkable personal experiences.

It seems to me what Keefer did then, and has recently replicated, and doubtless other principals do, is outside of the policies that address volunteers in school settings by ones, twos, or threes, with some reasonable modicum of supervision by a lead .

He has in this last episode a veritable circus of project architects and contract laborers, with kids and teachers and parents mixed in, during the school day.

any of the firms involved have a lead who is supervising their underlings. There are parents. There are teachers supervising.
Supervisors galore. But, as Terri said re Skyline that day, comingling adults = chaos. Who would know if one of those contractor employee supervisees, or parents, quietly slipped a child out?
PPS policy is not made for mega projects with so many volunteers and contractors on site at the same time from diverse etiologies comingling with children.

Just throwing my less than 2cents in regarding the gun issue-

First to give the benefit of doubt perhaps the gun was mistakenly picked up and taken when she transported her things

I understand the need to protect yourself- I understand the need to feel safe especially if one is being stalked harassed vilified or possibly worse by ? and certainly gun ownership/training can accomplish that

However, There are other ways to provide protection for yourself other ways to feel safe other than obtaining a gun-

mace- self defense classes- taser – roommate- trained attack dog…

The stipulation was in place- if it turns out Terri did take the gun, then to me she has setback her reunification process significantly.

I cant understand why she would do that so Im hoping there is a why that will make sense.

ps I was trying to wait for Blinks piece w/ Terri before I made comments- I cant wait- Sorry-

It is good to see you post again.

There certainly are other ways to protect yourself without using a gun.

One can use a knife of any size from a machete to a pen knife, but that means getting up close and is not one I would recommend for a woman.
Mace or even some of the large cans of flying insect spray can stop someone who isn’t real determined to continue an attack.

A real ugly character is not going to stop unless his or her intended target can produce a weapon that they fear. A gun is usually such a weapon.

  13. A Texas Grandfather says:

Thanks for the link Rose. Attorney Richards has quite a few skills and perhaps a load of experience.

It isn’t just California that is a mess. All three states along the West coast fit that pattern. The laws and ordinances have become so prolific in every area of daily life that one cannot know if they are actually being lawful. This is by design. If government is able to produce such a hodgepodge where even LE people don’t know them and will quote something that is not lawful in order to make an arrest, then we have government by tyranny.

Whether the gun was borrowed or stolen, she is in violation of the agreement, right? This whole case has been so strange from the beginning. I can’t help but feel we are still missing something big. I feel like TMH was in fear of something before Kyron went missing and could still be in fear of whatever that was.

    technically no, she is not.

Could Kaine use the issue against her based on the outcome? In MC it appears the court will just about entertain restroom graffiti as prima facie or evidence so yes.

  16. Rose says:

if it were merely much ado, imo
    she woukd not have Richards.The
law firm write up called such

despite valuation thresshold. Then there’s the failure

intent of OR Stip) coukd up the ante vased on his
judicial discretion. thus Richards. I hope
Richards smells a big tort case and helps her to
    that attorney.

  17. Rose says:

It is possibke RM lured her to CA under false pretenses of helping her resettle after reading the much OR publicity, not knowing gun laws cganged in late 2014 so thinking it would be an automatic felony conviction and the safe was his own out proving she had to have stolen. maybe he’s one of the local army of angels. problem is I bet criminalist Leslie Carbah won’t investigate past her nose much less look at his 2015 electronics, and Deputy Kevin M of Sacramento is known Statewide for his Union work.

How’d Cristobal know to call Kyle. I bet when he learned about Kyron’s case he called Desiree and was persuaded he had to talk to LE and he was in danger. Imo talking to him was where Desiree’s “he’s gonna hurt someone else” came from. Sorry TKG but continuously cohabiting with these men is mire indicative of Borderline than Bipolar imo. She should just check into a hospital medicaid will pay for. Again I blame the bios for ripping a structured, stable life from her. This could easily have been Desiree imo. And her functioning has nothing to do with kyron I bet, just the vicious aftermath. She shoukd never have entered the social curcles of the uneducated caregivers in homes but just gone for a protected State govt typing job as a secretary. Desiree has won her vindictive crusade, but Desiree has lost if it was ever about Kyron.

  19. Rose says:

imo he is saying what is absolutely Desiree’s usual quote verbatim
…… “I don’t even know what she’s capable of,” he said.
Her defense attorney in the RO needs to get his electronics.
He said he learned of the Horman case only recently.
Who from? Maybe this is one byproduct of Dr Phil.
Insane she didn’t tell him before she moved in. And didnt he read

Calif has it laid out. Unless he’s 62, they can’t register as DPs, ,

    —-
Given the threats of severe bodily harm and death online for 6 years incited by Desiree and Soldier, her need for a gun is way realistic given the FBI and corrupt cops will nit help. (Oddly, Yuba City is in Sutter County, while Marysville is in Yuba County.) I also traveled through that area on business often years ago, when I lived in CA.

I just didn’t understand what Blink was saying that some other county’s procedure may have caused Terri’s failure to appear. Which I think now she was simply saying perhaps the notice to appear was mailed to TMH’s old addy in Marysville, and she had relocated to some other county. IDK?

  41. Rose says:

Why do I speculate Terri’s most recent cohabitor is Phillippino?
    1. Joseph Cristobal is a very common Phillipine name. (the Spanish did colonize….)
    2. As quoted by kgw, he uses grammatical verb tenses common to esl speakers immigrating at a later age, & not natural to native born Americans
    a) His sentence 1 : I am fearing for
    (Present continuous tense).
rather than saying I fear (present indefinite)
    b) paragr quote 2
    She was trying
    followed by
    she was telling =
= past continuous tenses rather than point in time past tense such as
    She tried. She said.
    3. His occupation. In my area entry level rehab worker is a profession chosen by adult phillippino males who lack an education. they are sought after employees.
    4. If the Davidson sisters continue to read and approve all messages on Soldier’s FB, they are failing miserably. Reminds me of this young lady’s experience:

R rated language alert: “she received a Facebook message that read: “Wishing I could f—ing punch you in the face. id then proceed to stomp your head on the curb and urinate in your bloodied mouth and i know where you live, so watch your f-”
Sounds so like those messages the Davidsons claim to read and approve.
Doesn’t violent language matter to Desiree even tho its object is Terri?
    —-
None of my business but I don’t believe it can be Terri’s parents suggesting rehab ctr employment. Imo she got bad employment advice from some acquaintance bith wrt Lane Cty (or wherever it was) and CA. Imo a worksite that fits her low self esteem (all I can do), her victimology (I’m so persecuted), her need for self-flaggelation because she may have bought into she lost kyron (ach, bedpan duty), and allows for her good selfworth label (I’m a caregiver at heart.)
Were I a parent she’d listen to I’d have her in night community college getting certificates in word office etc and applying for State govt entry level clerical jobs. She shoukd remember she is more highly educated generally soeaking than kaine kristian desiree ecker and tarver. All she needs is to get in a public, not private, office setting and she can take training and move on up. But THIS RO she MUST fight and keep it off her record. Worse than the misdemeanor for govt employment. Imo he has been coached and she can’t not be bothered with this RO.

I will likely not have time to pull up those records before I am out of pocket next week. I don’t know how she plans to be in two counties simultaneously to defend these cases.
