Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

Posted by Christina Stoy | Desiree Young,Dr. Phil McGraw,Kaine Horman,Kyron Horman,Multnomah County Sheriffs Office,Shitshow,Uncategorized | Wednesday 21 September 2016 3:18 pm

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

I think the disconnect B4 may be because we were discussing different aspects … as I was referring back to Roses original comment:

    tortured beaten burned branded.
    = a true hate crime.

Which brings to mind if kyron
was a hate crime directed to a parent,
the abductor woukd’ve wanted him found imo

I was trying to say, unsuccessfully that upon further reflection I dont necessarily believe that IF Kyron
was a hate crime directed to a parent,
the abductor would’ve wanted or needed him to be found

Regarding the outstanding warrant for TH:

Most LE agencies have someone assigned to keeping up with outstanding warrants for their county and other nearby counties or perhaps an entire state if the area is not large. Federal warrants get the same treatment.

Marysville is in Yuba county about 30 miles North of Sacramento on the East side of the river across from Yuba City. Hwy. 99 (The Golden State Highway) passes through Yuba City.

Normal stop procedure for an offense that requires a ticket, the officer will use his computer in the car to check the outstanding warrant list kept by a city or county. If they get a hit, then they have to make an arrest and make arraignment for transfer of the prisoner to the jurisdiction issuing the warrant.

I drove highway 99 in 1999 on our trip South from Canada for the purpose of seeing the farm land up close. We left I-5 a few miles South of Redding and drove it all the way to Modesto where our No.3 son lived at the time. Stopped at Sacramento to visit the Old Sacramento area and the Southern Pacific railroad museum.

The crazies in Portland have made a new statement to companies in the area. The city council passed an ordinance that would tax any company that pays their CEO more than some small multiple of the average pay of the working people. The tax is destined to pay costs associated with homeless people in the city.

Companies will leave and soon everyone will be homeless. Good old social justice hard at work.

thank you for the thoughtful response and remarkable personal experiences.

It seems to me what Keefer did then, and has recently replicated, and doubtless other principals do, is outside of the policies that address volunteers in school settings by ones, twos, or threes, with some reasonable modicum of supervision by a lead .

He has in this last episode a veritable circus of project architects and contract laborers, with kids and teachers and parents mixed in, during the school day.

any of the firms involved have a lead who is supervising their underlings. There are parents. There are teachers supervising.
Supervisors galore. But, as Terri said re Skyline that day, comingling adults = chaos. Who would know if one of those contractor employee supervisees, or parents, quietly slipped a child out?
PPS policy is not made for mega projects with so many volunteers and contractors on site at the same time from diverse etiologies comingling with children.

Just throwing my less than 2cents in regarding the gun issue-

First to give the benefit of doubt perhaps the gun was mistakenly picked up and taken when she transported her things

I understand the need to protect yourself- I understand the need to feel safe especially if one is being stalked harassed vilified or possibly worse by ? and certainly gun ownership/training can accomplish that

However, There are other ways to provide protection for yourself other ways to feel safe other than obtaining a gun-

mace- self defense classes- taser – roommate- trained attack dog…

The stipulation was in place- if it turns out Terri did take the gun, then to me she has setback her reunification process significantly.

I cant understand why she would do that so Im hoping there is a why that will make sense.

ps I was trying to wait for Blinks piece w/ Terri before I made comments- I cant wait- Sorry-

So I will say that I appreciated Terri coming out to speak after so long in an effort to help Kyron- I think it was a good thing
    Thank you Terri

    this is for you, ATG:
    CA does sound a mess.

Be nice if the “demonstrators” show in the CA Courtroom
repeating mcso and Kaine’s and Desiree’s accusations so
there is a cause of action in CA to aim via a PI suit
under CA against mcso, Staton and others.

Desiree putting her arrest demands in writing, begging the public to
pepper the Judge and DA in CA with false news accusations was
    handy for Terri as well.

It is good to see you post again.

There certainly are other ways to protect yourself without using a gun.

One can use a knife of any size from a machete to a pen knife, but that means getting up close and is not one I would recommend for a woman.
Mace or even some of the large cans of flying insect spray can stop someone who isn’t real determined to continue an attack.

A real ugly character is not going to stop unless his or her intended target can produce a weapon that they fear. A gun is usually such a weapon.

  13. A Texas Grandfather says:

Thanks for the link Rose. Attorney Richards has quite a few skills and perhaps a load of experience.

It isn’t just California that is a mess. All three states along the West coast fit that pattern. The laws and ordinances have become so prolific in every area of daily life that one cannot know if they are actually being lawful. This is by design. If government is able to produce such a hodgepodge where even LE people don’t know them and will quote something that is not lawful in order to make an arrest, then we have government by tyranny.

  14. erose says:

I must have misunderstood, but I thought TH did not violate any custody stip in the jurisdiction that made the stipulation. IOW OR has no say so over what she does in CA., as she would never have visitation or custody of her daughter across state lines. Her offense in CA is only a misdemeanor, which she might have just squeaked by, if she is guilty of anything at all. Much ado? Or am I wrong?
    Correct so far, yes.

  15. Bumble says:

Whether the gun was borrowed or stolen, she is in violation of the agreement, right? This whole case has been so strange from the beginning. I can’t help but feel we are still missing something big. I feel like TMH was in fear of something before Kyron went missing and could still be in fear of whatever that was.

    technically no, she is not.

Could Kaine use the issue against her based on the outcome? In MC it appears the court will just about entertain restroom graffiti as prima facie or evidence so yes.

  16. Rose says:

if it were merely much ado, imo
    she woukd not have Richards.The
law firm write up called such
    charges “wobbley,” meaning imo it
coukd’ve been charged as a felony
despite valuation thresshold. Then there’s the failure
to appear. I bet judge (factoring in the
intent of OR Stip) coukd up the ante vased on his
judicial discretion. thus Richards. I hope
Richards smells a big tort case and helps her to
    that attorney.

  17. Rose says:

It is possibke RM lured her to CA under false pretenses of helping her resettle after reading the much OR publicity, not knowing gun laws cganged in late 2014 so thinking it would be an automatic felony conviction and the safe was his own out proving she had to have stolen. maybe he’s one of the local army of angels. problem is I bet criminalist Leslie Carbah won’t investigate past her nose much less look at his 2015 electronics, and Deputy Kevin M of Sacramento is known Statewide for his Union work.

  18. Rose says:

How’d Cristobal know to call Kyle. I bet when he learned about Kyron’s case he called Desiree and was persuaded he had to talk to LE and he was in danger. Imo talking to him was where Desiree’s “he’s gonna hurt someone else” came from. Sorry TKG but continuously cohabiting with these men is mire indicative of Borderline than Bipolar imo. She should just check into a hospital medicaid will pay for. Again I blame the bios for ripping a structured, stable life from her. This could easily have been Desiree imo. And her functioning has nothing to do with kyron I bet, just the vicious aftermath. She shoukd never have entered the social curcles of the uneducated caregivers in homes but just gone for a protected State govt typing job as a secretary. Desiree has won her vindictive crusade, but Desiree has lost if it was ever about Kyron.

  19. Rose says:

imo he is saying what is absolutely Desiree’s usual quote verbatim
…… “I don’t even know what she’s capable of,” he said.
Her defense attorney in the RO needs to get his electronics.
He said he learned of the Horman case only recently.
Who from? Maybe this is one byproduct of Dr Phil.
Insane she didn’t tell him before she moved in. And didnt he read
People last January? I bet what was recent was his talking to Desiree.

  20. Rose says:

now one knows why Desiree’s gofundme update a month ago
promising a poster picture update of kyron never materialized. Imo she
got distracted midNovember with other opportunities.

  21. Rose says:

To be called a “domestic partner” in CA, is the only requirement
that one cohabit with a relatively new acquaintance and have sexual relations?
    That’s a pretty loose standard.

  22. Rose says:

Calif has it laid out. Unless he’s 62, they can’t register as DPs, ,
so legally he’s not a domestic partner. So if he put that status
in his RO appl he’s untruthful.

Yes TGF great list, thanks – Id forgotten the obvious knives- for the reasons you mentioned- such as needing to get real upclose

but according to this video clip regarding an accusation of domestic violence KIM not the previous gun case, if true, Terri could would and did use a knife upclose

Terri Horman accused of domestic violence

  27. Rose says:

@Bumble. I agree with you we are missing something big.

But if she was in fear of something before Kyron went missing, imo that related to Kaine and hus associates. And he shar d it. Because he owned the gun, now at least two, and has practiced since summer 2010 after she was gone wven from town.
Given the threats of severe bodily harm and death online for 6 years incited by Desiree and Soldier, her need for a gun is way realistic given the FBI and corrupt cops will nit help. Witness flagship Buskness owner’s fears in Prose and Politics block, one saying he’ll have to shut down in next year. Clinton was right at Reid’s retirement, Congress must enact regulation of social media’s personal attack use as it is too dangerous.
I am troubked this is the County employing two deputy sheriffs Mikelson.
Seems very self-destructive to move there.

@Tiny/ATG. Glad a local noticed the Council action. Cheap”populism” as he leaves office.
All those CEOs will just move the companies out, and Portland will lose the underlying tax revenue fast.
Wheeler’s got a challenge to get some sane Councilors elected. Hard to do when nonwage earners flock
into oregon for the mj laws. Reese is closing more jail beds by freeing low hanging charged fruit rather than offering rehab. State AG shows no leadership except on her signature (mj) issue.

  32. Rose says:

From both his caregiving job and surname I infer Joseph is Phillippino. Males I’ve known in that job are gentle, duck controversy, and eschew violence….and are unlikely to apply for an RO. Their wives have been dominant in the household imo. A male would imo just leave the space. Imo he was coached thru the RO process. How’d Kyle know how to find him on the phone.

Blink I hope for an addendum to yr piece after legal is settled.
What month did she move to CA and at whose invitation or support?
What month did she move in with Cristobal?
I recall Kristen daug 2 tweeting to mom in early 2015 along the lines of
don’t blow this housing before I graduate high school,
so perhaps she was rocky with cohabiting with Kaine even then.
Coukd she have sought to arrange a present for him in mid2015?

Obviously I cant and wont be addressing those questions prior to adjudication of the outstanding issues and I know all of you understand that.

FWIW, I know that area pretty well. One of my best childhood friends lives in Yuba City which is right next door to Marysville, just across the bridge. (Oddly, Yuba City is in Sutter County, while Marysville is in Yuba County.) I also traveled through that area on business often years ago, when I lived in CA.

I just didn’t understand what Blink was saying that some other county’s procedure may have caused Terri’s failure to appear. Which I think now she was simply saying perhaps the notice to appear was mailed to TMH’s old addy in Marysville, and she had relocated to some other county. IDK?

Yes. The burden for summary offense is simply via reg mail. It does not need to be hand served.

My family had major turmoil because of it. It’s certainly been a life lesson for my family, only now mending over time.

Im not sure but is it possible Mr Cristobal may not have talked directly to anyone outside of the police? it kinda seemed that the station was quoting his writing on the report?

Again Im Not sure, as The coverage so far, fails to report much of anything clearly – like say the date when this occurred-

FWIW the document shown appears to read 2017 November 29 2:00 pm

Still even that is fuzzy- I cant be certain of much- With the reports I only have a small part of just one side of the story- and thats heavily edited and not enough to formulate much of anything

PS first-time, Hi thank you its real good to see you too!

  39. Rose says:

imo the evidence RM had malignant intent or the stay ended in acrimony

and drop it in a mailbox.

  41. Rose says:

Why do I speculate Terri’s most recent cohabitor is Phillippino?
    1. Joseph Cristobal is a very common Phillipine name. (the Spanish did colonize….)
    2. As quoted by kgw, he uses grammatical verb tenses common to esl speakers immigrating at a later age, & not natural to native born Americans
    a) His sentence 1 : I am fearing for
    (Present continuous tense).
rather than saying I fear (present indefinite)
    b) paragr quote 2
    She was trying
    followed by
    she was telling =
= past continuous tenses rather than point in time past tense such as
    She tried. She said.
    3. His occupation. In my area entry level rehab worker is a profession chosen by adult phillippino males who lack an education. they are sought after employees.
    4. If the Davidson sisters continue to read and approve all messages on Soldier’s FB, they are failing miserably. Reminds me of this young lady’s experience:
R rated language alert: “she received a Facebook message that read: “Wishing I could f—ing punch you in the face. id then proceed to stomp your head on the curb and urinate in your bloodied mouth and i know where you live, so watch your f-”
Sounds so like those messages the Davidsons claim to read and approve.
Doesn’t violent language matter to Desiree even tho its object is Terri?
None of my business but I don’t believe it can be Terri’s parents suggesting rehab ctr employment. Imo she got bad employment advice from some acquaintance bith wrt Lane Cty (or wherever it was) and CA. Imo a worksite that fits her low self esteem (all I can do), her victimology (I’m so persecuted), her need for self-flaggelation because she may have bought into she lost kyron (ach, bedpan duty), and allows for her good selfworth label (I’m a caregiver at heart.)
Were I a parent she’d listen to I’d have her in night community college getting certificates in word office etc and applying for State govt entry level clerical jobs. She shoukd remember she is more highly educated generally soeaking than kaine kristian desiree ecker and tarver. All she needs is to get in a public, not private, office setting and she can take training and move on up. But THIS RO she MUST fight and keep it off her record. Worse than the misdemeanor for govt employment. Imo he has been coached and she can’t not be bothered with this RO.

I will likely not have time to pull up those records before I am out of pocket next week. I don’t know how she plans to be in two counties simultaneously to defend these cases.

  42. Rose says:

@erose. wouldn’t it be interesting if the knife preceded the gun and the RM was one and the same.
And more interesting if after the gun arrest was public in Sacramento records someone employed in Sacramento County coached him thru filing an RO there. maybe Sacramento as a RO venue was chosen based on his place of employment.

  43. Rose says:

why did you wait so long Mr Cristobal, the questioning would go?

  44. A Texas Grandfather says:

This case in Yuba county with TH is beginning to look like throw all the charges one can think of out there and hope that one of them sticks.

It is a case of he said-she said with no witnesses other than themselves unless affiant can manufacture some. Maybe the judge will appoint a smart attorney for TH and she can get out of this mess.

Suggestion to TH: Leave the guys alone for a while. Your choices are getting you in trouble.

    Oye vey.

  45. Rose says:

If my inferences resting on his grammar are valid that he is an adult male immigrant from a spanish-speaking culture, very particularly phillipino culture, but any esl immigrant, it does not take being in the Trump immigrant-fear era to posit the LAST place he’d start first, and on his own initiative, woukd be the police,

  46. Rose says:

and I doubt his english suffices to figure out self-filing the RO forms.
    Shades of Rudy.

  47. A Texas Grandfather says:

I am ignorant of the exact law which you made a reference to. Texas is a state that not only has legislative laws, but some laws require a constitutional amendment to have statue. IMO fifty percent or more are useless and only cause unintended consequences.

  48. Rose says:

@TKG. I should have not been so quick and flip to throw around the B words.
Such dx only belong to a competent treating psychiatrist. I initially believed the gun and arraignment
stuff unreflectively and was concerned for her mental state.

Kaine boxed her in onthe custody action such that she could never
avail herself of such help (med records subject to subpoena and adversarial use).
Sorry for your family, but besides her significant child and family losses, her life lacked most peoples’ normal daily structure, routines, and supports so any joint residential activity would inevitably in those circumstances be harmful to both. Desiree/Soldier/Kaine’s pressure was unrelenting on you both. Look at the suffering of her parents.
an acrimonious cutting off of one male then taking up with the next to fill that hole
is common to many women in other circumstances whether difficult or not.
imo self esteem self esteem, and Terri’s must be shot.
