Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

What happened to Dylan never pointed to anyone else, Kyron’s disappearance definitely does and all anyone has to do to confirm that is to pick up the phone and ask that question directly of his parents.

From the get go, TY, a seasoned LEA, stated “if not Terri, then who?”.

What should have been Kyron’s one parent who realized not only that the evidence was pointing away, but instead went out of his way to publicly imply it was pointing at TMH, and apparently spent zero thought process in looking into any other possibility or explaining to his wife and KH why there could be other possibilities. Why? Boggles my mind.

If TY was counseling the other three parents as to what was going to transpire, etc., (privacy gone, etc), then was he also going over potential scenarios and circumstances that may have nothing to do with any of the parents abducting Kyron, such as lax school policy and stranger abduction. If not, why not? If he and DY were told by TMH in those early days about the behavior she observed of Kyron, why didn’t his trained brain go to the possibility of Kyron having been molested or grooming? How did he rule that out? How could anyone? All of the four parents knew that Kyron had been acting differently…..all of them. Why was nothing done to figure out why? Seems to me TMH was the only one ever concerned.
    ****************

And why can’t we know the approximate age of SZ, the man Kyron left Mathews class with. Was he 12? 20 something? 30 something? 40 something? 60 plus? Why not say Kyron was seen with a man who was between 30 and 40, or whatever. Someone told TMH Kyron was seen with a male chaperone. How old was *that* man? Surely someone asked.

The only reason I can think of is LE knows who Kyron left EM’s room with, and that person is not considered a suspect and has an alibi tighter than a bull’s butt at fly time. Otherwise it makes no sense.

ot Rose, I see they finally did get in and I guess they placed higher than the US. I didn’t know they were from that region. Herat is on the Iranian border, my guess is that is why they were initially denied. Pretty amazing that a girls team can be involved in STEM, especially in that region, and I’m glad they got here. I am amazed at some of our girls, too, we have a female family member (by marriage) serving in Afghanistan ’til New Years. I’m praying.

Forgive me if I am incorrect but Terri received an award or grant or some such thing from the BPA and wasn’t BPA at Skyline the day Kyron disappeared. Did anyone from BPA have any contact with Kyron before that day? I know we have discussed this, just like we have discussed bloody socks and Christmas Tree Farms but this is one of the areas of interest that still flashes on the virtual white board for me. Did the Science Fair attendance list only include people there specifically for the Fair? Was there anyone there after the fair not listed?

    http://oregongreenschools.org/skyline-school/

Because of the age, I do not believe that young lad is Kyron. He does remind me of the boy I have always mentioned looked so much like Kyron and was present in the classroom when the exchange with SZ occurred that for a very long time I could not exclude the possibility this may have been some sort of mistaken identity issue. He even had the same glasses. Since those initial pics, a source shared additional pics of the child that indicated he had noticeably darker hair than Kyron and was taller/older. As a result I gave it a much lower probability from “cannot exclude”. I cannot confirm it, but if I were a betting sort, my bet would be this is that little boy.

Bonneville owns 80 percent of the transmission system in the Pacific Northwest, and its transmission policies fundamentally impact all market participants in the region. For the past four years, Bonneville has been moving away from open transmission access and competitive markets, and the Environmental Redispatch Protocol is the most egregious example of undue
discrimination thus far. The Commission must act to protect the very foundation of existing bilateral markets in the Pacific Northwest – markets that cannot properly function if a party can abandon its contractual obligations and unilaterally use its transmission system to impose its own
operating regime to benefit its preferred power customer base. Moreover, this proceeding is critical to ensuring that Bonneville cannot harm adjoining regions, such as California, by substituting renewable resources with its own hydro generation and thereby subverting the ability
of other regions to meet their statutory renewable portfolio standards. Bonneville’s Final ROD also creates substantial disincentives to development of renewable generation in the Pacific Northwest, and is inconsistent with the Obama Administration’s policies on renewable energy resource development.12

I (with the help of hubby) have just spent the past hour trying to use photo editing software to enlarge that photo. We can enlarge it, but due to its resolution we cannot make it a clear photo.

Anyway, that most assuredly looks like Ky. Although I am puzzled by the date of the photo and the size of the child. If that photo is from August, 2007, and if it is Ky, then he would be four/very soon to be five years old. The child in the photo seems to me to be a little too big to be so young.

Gwen- I do not believe it can be Kyron, working on confirmation but to your point, I believe Kyron’s age precludes him.

In the Spring of 2011, Skyline was the first Portland Public School to install a wind turbine on school grounds. The 90ft, 2.5 kilowatt XZERES 110 turbine was installed by Anderson Electric and funded by the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, which also partnered with Portland Public Schools for several solar roof projects. An anemometer and electric meter constantly measure wind speed and electricity output for the students to track and analyze in class projects. The students learned about wind power through presentations and activities on the day the turbine was installed.

@Blink, do you know which of these roads TMH drove at any point in time on either the 3rd or the 4th of June 2010? I’m just wondering if they were trying to verify her travels where she told them she had been, or if any of these she was never on either day. IOW, if we can rule out which ones she told them she was on, then maybe try to figure out why they’d be looking at any different ones. This was from June 13, 2010, when LE made the statement that the case had become a criminal one.

Yes, exhaustively. They were not trying to confirm her travels but to generate witnesses or corroborate other witness accounts of some nature- by the time of 6/13/10- LE had a recorded trip of her exact route from start to finish which Terri participated in voluntarily.

On another thought wave, ones mind strayed with recent postings to Jinnet Powell, given the picture analysed by Gwen (and I agree).

Besides my “rule out every BPA Assoc ever on Skyline campus”, I also had focused on this smacks of a person familiar with military ops executions, particularly kidnapping and kidnapping prevention. I had pointed out long ago with urls the extensive use made of Oregon public forests for special ops training, esp those headed to Afghanistan, not going to recreate now.

Thus it is anecdotally interesting Powell served in military intelligence for a few years. Not pointing to her, but likely she had friends who followed her activities on line. And imo her husband, if it is indeed he, had similar chops and interests.

One could say SZ selected Skyline bcz it was rural, on a commuter route, had forested lands nearby, and so on, as I once did, but such eleds are rampant in oregon. or one could say SZ was drawn to the school out of ALL PPS eled and middle schools –all of which had open science fairs on buffet — due to unique things going on there at Skyline. One was the BPA project with its many workmen, contractor employees, external educators & proj mgrs. another very unique thing to skyline was Powell’s relentless aggressive grant applications and marketing of Skyline as a green school with all her myriad personal projects many of which invited strangers onto Skyline grounds. (re-reading erose’ url, imo if I were the janitor, I’d say take your waste and lightbulbs and shove it–but he just moved to a school near his home).

so here is the Skyline couple offered not to focus on them, but to point out the breadth of her invitations to strangers to enter campus— between grants appls, work events, 4H marketing, habitat marketing, and his orienteering leadership, and one surely surmises at least one orienteering event was in or near the school during their eled tenure.

The story of Winston Churchill drawing the boundaries in the Trans-Jordan area is true. It has been confirmed by his grandson.

Winston Churchill was a person with vast experience around the world. He worked in many areas for the British government. The story of his life is long and has been detailed in multiple books. He was not always recognized for his work and some thought him to be a pompous fool. Of course he made mistakes. One does not take on the many tasks in such a life without mistakes. In the end, he was a person who had accomplished much for the benefit of the world.

o/t: It is my understanding that he was recognized for his very public stance and skepticism re the reprisals to Germany for WWI. He believed that the concept of “keep your friends close but your enemies closer” was the better strategy and that Germany (Hitler) would spend the time plotting for WWII- he was right of course.

    O/T

Winston Churchill was against the large fines on the German people for a particular reason. That was the destruction of the economy. His prediction came true. Merchants were faced with a currency that essentially devolved into worthless paper.

Those that could left Germany and went to other countries. Many came to the United States. As a teen, I knew some of those who moved to the U.S. in the late 1920′s and in the 1930′s. The stories they told were similar to what is coming out of Valenzuela at the present time.

We only have to look back at our history regarding the U.S. government under the Articles of Confederation to understand the danger we faced as a country from a worthless currency. The expression of “not worth a continental” had its origin in those times. The development of the constitution by those with a deep concern for our country was the “stroke of genius” that saved us.

  28. Rose says:

ATG in the interests of accuracy, it is Gween’s spouse who is cheerfully dragoonable, and likely in this case bcz he has an inquiring mind. Mine has always been Eeyore, no matter the circs.

When I sold my old LPs in bulk to a college town record shop, I did spot and pull Sir Winston, whose face has been leering up at me from the floor ever since, as I don’t know where to put it. RCA released LLM2723 narrated by Chet Huntley just after his death. Probably a lot of his speeches on there & probably in digital format reissue somewhere; coproduction with NBC News Dept. In addition to that in HS I bought his 4 vol Hx of the English Speaking Peoples which I still have. His beautiful prose kept him solvent.

One of his flaws was he was a lousy at fundamental economics. Also after WWI, with respect, imo, he was not espousing a “keep yr enemies close” when criticizing the onerous reparations which destroyed the German economy’s rebuilding. That was one of several strands that led to the rise of Hitler, a despot. In today’s world, amoral despots like Hitler are already in place in several countries wrecking death on their own peoples w/o external help.

    Stalking is a dangerous activity.

The article mentions the fact they were in the driveway taking photos. Without looking at the property, that statement could be a stretch.

If the property is within the city and has curbs and sidewalks within the road right-of-way, they may not have been on private property. It would depend on how the subdivision builder created the sidewalks. Sometimes the private lot line stops at the edge of the sidewalk close to the structure. Other times is at the edge of the sidewalk close to the street. A drive way street ramp may be public property to the sidewalk or including the sidewalk.

LE people often stretch the truth when speaking with those who are acting badly in an effort to get them to behave. In addition, they may not be aware of where actual private property begins.

Ms. Powell has a pretty interesting background. In reading all of her projects, I wondered if she has a child at the school. I found a copy of the list and saw that there is a person listed, I assume a child, with the surname of the man I surmise is her husband.

I noticed that one of the sponsors of the 4-H program is the PJA’s Kidsplace program at Skyline, which likely means nothing. It’s just interesting how one group or person interacts and overlaps with another group or person. Then again, despite its PR, Portland is a small town.

Although Ohm’s law is a fundamental to DC circuits, it could be used as a sound in a chant. O….Hmmmmm. In fact, Maynard Ferguson the famous high note trumpet player often used such a sound when he would vocalize during his concerts.

All across language, words are borrowed to express something a little different than their original usage. Thus, we see the multiple usage lists in large dictionaries. However, Ohm is derived from the last name of the man who did the research to identify the relationships between voltage, current and resistance in circuits.

The discussion about the small wind turbine installation at Skyline by the Bonneville power people and their contractors regarding the amount of time of construction and testing is relatively small. That was a little project that should have been accomplished in a week or two at the most. The engineering work would have been accomplished off-site except for the small time of learning the best place for the tower and what equipment existed that the new power source would connect to.
