Markoff is accused of kidnapping and armed robbery of Las Vegas prostitute Trisha Leffler and the kidnapping and murder of 26 year old masseuse Julissa Brisman.

It is not known if the image above is actually Phil Markoff but a source inside the investigation has confirmed to Blinkoncrime.com the background in the images matches a residence of Markoff’s.

On Tuesday last week Markoff was visited by his brother Jon and sister in law Deanna; a visit in which he told his family there would be more “coming to light” and they should forget about him in prison.

Boston Police have named Markoff as a POI in a Providence, RI attempted robbery of a masseuse; his fingerprints were found on the wall in the Holiday Inn Express.

In a routine check, correction officers found “shoelace marks” around Markoff’s neck this afternoon and have moved him out of general population and placed him in a segrated Unit at Boston’s Nashua Street jail under a suicide watch where guards can keep a close eye on him.

Markoff stands accused of the armed robbery and kidnapping of Trisha Leffler, and the murder of 26 year old NYC masseuse, Julissa Brisman.

Phil Markoff is a second year Medical Student at Boston University.

Boston, MA– This afternoon Philip Haynes Markoff was arrraigned before the Commonwealth on murder, armed robbery, and kidnapping charges and ordered held without bail, or 1 Million Dollars Cash Bond. 

Markoff was represented in court by high-profile criminal attorney John Salsberg. Mr. Salsberg has won aquittals in murder and attempted murder trials, but is best known for his work in the case of The Commonwealth v Bryant. Markoff through his attorney, entered a formal plea of Not Guilty on all charges. Several members of Markoff’s family attended the arraignment, as well as his fiancee Megan McAllister and Megan Trembley, the maid of honor in the couple’s wedding scheduled for August 14, 2009 in Long Branch, NJ.

Markoff is accused of the Murder of Julissa Brisman, and the kidnapping and armed robbery of at least one other victim. The Police are keeping mum on the charges for the third victim from Providence, RI, but industry experts believe it is just a formality to not interfere with the current proceeding and have to extradite Markoff.

BOMBSHELL EVIDENCE

This afternoon, the first victim from the Westin Copley Hotel, spoke on the condition of anonymity to Blinkoncrime.com. She stated that Markoff was definately the one who robbed her at gunpoint and DUCT TAPED her mouth shut on his way out. She called him a .”Scum and wishes he would spend the rest of his life in jail where he belongs..” She said she knew immediately the subject of the videotape surveillance was the man who robbed her and feels very possibly if she had resisted she might have ended up like Julissa Brisman. 

A source inside the investigation has confirmed that Julissa Brisman was found with duct tape over her mouth as well.

Authorities have confirmed a semi automatic weapon, ammunition and accessories matching the exact one used in the commission of his crimes was found in his residence.

Markoff was initially found by investigators by following a computer trail by a system set up to document appointments of the women advertising their masseuse services. The trail led directly to Markoff.

Philip Markoff did not speak during his arraignment. 

“Unfortunately, you were given wrong information as was the public,” McAllister wrote to ABC News in an e-mail. “All I have to say to you is Philip is a beautiful person inside and out and could not hurt a fly! A police officer in Boston (or many) is trying to make big bucks by selling this false story to the TV stations. What else is new?? Philip is an intelligent man who is just trying to live his life so if you could leave us alone we would greatly appreciate it. We expect to marry in August and share and wonderful, meaningful life together.”

Markoff, the son of Syracuse Dentist Dr. Richard Markoff, was arrested yesterday in Walpole, MA in an intense manhunt Boston police say involved high tech computer forensics, surveillance, evidence from the scene and old fashioned shoe leather. Neighbors React

Markoff and his fiancee have not been residents of the Apartment Building in Quincy long; most neighbors have only met them at the Clubhouse Christmas gala. A Police source inside the investigation has confirmed to Blinkoncrime.com that zip cuffs, guns and other relative evidence was found in the apartment last evening following his arrest.

Mike Dye, a neighbor and aquaintance of Markoff said they kept meeting in the elevator or hallway and discussed plans to get together, but Markoff had not been around lately. Dye went on to say he would need to consider locking his door, and was hopeful today would not leave him in more shock than he already was. Joe Uva, also a neighbor, said the community was in shock. He said he had watched the coverage, but the video did not appear clear and he did not immediately recognize Markoff from it.

Possible Trigger?

Police believe Markoff had mounting Gambling Debts. He was 4 months away from getting hitched. To those of us who have experienced stressful situations in life, what makes a seemingly accomplished man of privlege resort to such desperate measures? Could there have been a proverbial final straw? Posted as a link on True Crime Report   Markoff took his end of second year Med School asessment on March 20th. Blinkoncrime has confirmed the results of those asessments were not made available prior to Spring break, and therefore Markoff would not have known them officially. What if he already knew he flubbed it and would need to retake?

Mr. Markoff, the son of a Syracuse dentist and educator, is also a groom to be;  with planned August 14, 2009 nuptials.  His brother Jon, was slated to be best man.

Boston University, upon hearing the charges against him, have suspended Markoff from his studies. Markoff’s father could not be reached for comment this evening; as well as his fiancee, Megan McAllister.

Tenants of Markoff’s building address appeared shocked when plain clothes detectives began canvassing their building last evening asking questions regarding his habits. By most accounts,  Markoff was rarely home.

Boston, MA– Boston Police announced they had a suspect in custody today for the Murder of Julissa Brisman, and will face other charges including kidnapping, illegal posession of a firearm, and probable others.

Pictured above with an unidentified female from his facebook account, Phil Markoff, 22, is a Boston University student originally from upstate New York. 

Boston’s Police commissioner Ed Davis said during a news conference this afternoon Markoff had been under surveillamce for days. He was stopped on 95 in Walpole, MA and taken into custody without incident. Police received over 150 leads in their hunt for the Craigslist Killer.
