All I can think of (and this is really dating me) is Manfred Mann’s “The Eskimo, The Mighty Quinn” actually written by Bob Dylan, I think. It’s about a big tough guy…

While I felt my share of annoyance with regard to the school for not making an absent call, I soon realized that I am not privy to the info LE has received from teachers, parents and volunteers attending the science fair on June 4th.

I see nothing out of the ordinary with the photos posted on the school website. Was the photographer talented? No. Is there some deep hidden demonic message? No. If you place your mouse over the “log” pic, hold the Control key down and scroll to enlarge, you will see that the Cousin It wearing a hat at the end of the log is a building/car/something else far away from the log carriers. You will see that a tree branch from a distant tree is in front of Cousin It.

@MackiezMom: thank you for saying what I’m thinking. I like logic. And while I do agree that “no stone should be left unturned”, I’m for turning them over in logical fashion, not just running willy-nilly all over the damned place grabbing stones (figuratively speaking, of course). While frustrating to read some of this, I just try to remind myself that many people had strong feelings about TH at the beginning, for and against. For those who supported her innocence then, I believe a little cognitive dissonance might be in play now. And for those who thought Kaine bad from the beginning, well, they’re just kicking it up a notch, too (I mean, I’m pretty sure I saw one of his grey t-shirts had a secret message to Satan written on it ;) ) As for me, I have faith that LE & the FBI are proceeding in logical, discreet fashion, as they should, and the evidence that we’ve seen thus far would indicate that TH is more than a bit involved. I find it laughable the suggestion/theory that KH & DY & TY are just pointing their fingers and saying (I’m quoting someone here) “look at her, not me!”. Evidence/forensics doesn’t quite work that way. But you know that, so I’m preaching to the choir. MOO: KH/DY/TY have shown nothing but the sincere range emotions of normal parents in an abnormal & horrible situation. Anyway, thanks for saying what I was thinking.

Cathy Bickel: the glasses were supposed to have been an exact replica, but some of us believe that these may have been his actual glasses, and used as communication to the perp. Blink’s experts believe that they were most likely the real glasses, and I’m far from an expert, I just have a mac, but I blew them up , and they did look worn. So the answer is: these might be Kyron’s glasses, and they might just be a duplicate pair. If they’re his glasses, were they found during the search? (not just a forensic clue, but a locational clue, too, and the perp dropped them accidentally or they were left intenionally?)
Or if they were the real glasses, they could’ve been sent with a ransom note. On Blink’s previous post, I made a little list of What We Know that We Do Not Know with a bit of summary under each of the topics (doctor’s appt, videos, etc.) It’s far from perfect, but it might help a little if you have other ?s. Or it might just raise more ?s.

I mean no disrespect, but by changing the zoom level of my screen, I looked at both pics being talked about real good. I don’t know what it is behind the boy with the long hair, but it certainly isn’t a person. It appears to be part of the landscape. And as far as the picture with boy with beard, it is just a picture for heaven’s sake. The teacher is simply helping a child out of the pic with something. Nothing perverted.
@Susan, Maybe you need to change the zoom level on your screen. This is getting crazy.

  5. Eloise says:

I looked at the website lastnight and again now. I did think there appeared to be a child with a mask/hat and sunglasses. I thought I was seeing too much into the photo. I wonder if they were celebrating like Abraham Lincoln or something. I didnt get Halloween out of it.
Keefer does favor the older photo of Cooke IMO. Maybe they just dont have anyone with IT expertise working on the web page?

  6. Futureman says:

Susan writes: “try enlarging the image or using a magnifying glass, maybe you will then see the image of a person in cap and raybans standing behind long haired boy.”

She’s right! I magnified the picture and used photo-enhancing software to clarify the image. After doing so I discovered that the cryptic figure in question is, in fact, Anthony Michael Hall.

Kudos, Susan! I see a major break in this case developing.

  7. Kim says:

I enlarged both the log picture and the close up of the boy in the beard costume (Pilgram?). I do not see any evidence of photoshopping. The “boy in the cap & glasses” behing the boy with long hair is actually part of the building in the distance. I do not see arrows or anything odd about the beard costume picture.

I agree, there are many boys with glasses, but I do not find that unusual. Many students wear glasses.

I do wonder though, if the boy just behind the principal in the log pic (you can barely see him) is Kyron?

  8. zeus says:

That is incorrect. The LS reported nothing to the police until 6/26/10. He alleges that the incident was late 2009, yes. I cannot verify this, although I have tried, but I am hearing that Terri gave LE the landscapers name and told them of an incident where he threatened her previously- and she denied the murder for hire plot after LE questioned him. It is my personal opinion there is also some question as to Rudy Sanchez’s SS status after our research of him.

Does anyone think that it’s a possibility that the LS guy made up the MFH because he was getting pulled in by LE anyway, and didn’t want the alleged “affair” between him and TH to implicate him in Kyron’s disappearance? He would have to know that LE would question his involvement in this case, and was maybe grasping at straws and thought of the MFH plot. If the MFH is a lie, it worked hella good-the focus went solely to TH and not many people think about anything past that at this point.

I keep thinking that maybe it was just a handy excuse to divert LE away from him, and I would be curious to know if TH answered ALL questions about the LS in a truthful manner and if LE felt she was being honest. It’s not that I don’t think TH had some involvement in Kyron going missing, but I do keep trying to look outside the box.

Like we say on here-it’s all in until it’s out. I’m still playing by that.

And finally, what saddens me the most at this point-six weeks into Kyron’s disappearance-is that almost ALL of the public’s attention has moved to TH and other family members and poor, sweet, little Kyron is just getting mentioned in passing. That is wrong. Kyron is missing-THAT is the most important fact! Everything has become a circus in this case and I feel that the only world that makes sense is here on BOC.

Our society at large loves a scandal, and they have a huge, fascinating one to play with right now-they will not let go of it. I guess all we can do is keep up the good fight, and hope for the best.

When Kyron comes home (I refuse to be negative), I would like to see Desiree have custody with visitation to Kaine. I hope that’s how it turns out.

@MackiezMom & @MyStarz- re: ” …ability to track through cell pings…which she probbbbably is, since she appears to have read various blogs, and watched various shows…yes, one would definitely ping in an area where the evidence was NOT. Hmmmmm.”

Some thoughts/questions about the cell phone pings–I think your theory is plausible, but I can’t make it work in my little brain. I do agree that someone who’s seen so much crime TV should know better, so it could be a faux clue she’s offering up.

The cell phone pings, would they be from a static location? if so, then it would be possible for her to dump her phone on SI to mislead. But if there were calls, wouldn’t someone have had to be using the phone?
If there were pings from several different locations, then harder, unless she just went to SI and drove around while whatever was being done to Kyron was being done to him.
Of course, if she weren’t assisting with Kyron or acting alone, why wouldn’t she just go thru the paces of her actual alibi so people/friends would see her, instead of just dumping her phone on SI? Then she’d have an alibi that would hold up to LE and they’d need other clues. The dumping her phone theory would almost certainly have to mean she was involved physically with something… Of course, if she were assisting or acting alone to do whatever was done to Kyron, then she could’ve driven her phone to SI, dropped it off, and then gone on her evil way. Or she could’ve gone to SI while the partner went to finish up, but why not go somewhere alibi-ish (I can think of a couple of reasons but don’t like those answers). See, I can’t quite fit it together. Help?

    ************************
On a related note, it seems that more interviews and information *may* have come in, thus prompting renewed searches–if that’s the case, would LE be acting on pings alone? Boy, I hope not. That might be some wasted time. Sigh.

    ———————-

Not to belabor this point, but I disagree. Ever hear the adage “A picture is worth a thousand words?” It refers to the idea that complex stories can be described with just a single still image. (Wiki)

I believe a lot can be said with that photo, and more specifically the video it was taken from. If you watch the first video of TH, notice how she *blinks*. It’s rapid. And can easily6 be interpreted as pressure, guilt and/or deception given the context

I agree it’s hard to judge a person without having full disclosure, however, I also think that it’s fair to presume someone based on body language. It says a lot, especially when the person won’t say a word.

My observations and some opinions at this point (subject to change ANY minute!)

    1. If LS had true evidence of a hit solicitation, there would have been an arrest. As far as I can tell, there is no evidence.

    2. Anything is possible, including the LS making it up for fear of the police — period.

    3. Illegal Hispanics are quite the target — especially lately.

    4. I have read about other criminal cases in Oregon where the innocent were imprisoned and later released. I would like to find the stats as far as Oregon’s wrongful imprisonment is concerned. One story comes to mind — frightening. And remember — Certain jobs in Oregon rely on Federal funding……as I have heard LE personally tell me as far as “crimes” are concerned — “Just think of it as job security.” Oh, this must be especially true here where the majority of the jobs are some form of government. And the private sector is getting sick and tired of supporting all those employees. If you don’t have a job lined up — do NOT move to Oregon. And if you are not a local — good luck ever finding a job.

    5. Read “Smoking Gun” by Gerry Spence. Gives insight into the Good ol’ Boy network around here and how if you have $$$ and not female, you just might be treated differently.

    6. Perhaps Terri is truly a classic bipolar. That could indeed explain her promiscuity.

    7. Is LE looking the other way when they really should be checking out the school in more depth? They could be behind the scenes, but if so — why the big secret?? Because it IS the state. Oh, the stories I could tell about State agencies in Oregon.

    8. Oregon’s previous Governor was known by others to have engaged in on-going sexual relations with an underage girl — beginning when she was 14 I believe. He did eventually admit it. Apparently, there were many higher-ups that knew, but looked the other way. I question leadership here. And the own victim’s mother defended the Governor because he was a good man who did great things for the state (not her exact words).

Cici says: “RE: School website rorschach… I see part of a building in the background (grey roof with dark windows) behind the boys carrying the log, not ‘a superimposed child in a cap with dark glasses’”

That’s no building. That appears to be an adult with a printed fabric hat and glasses, who is holding a yellow camera or cell phone, and taking photos from behind the group:
    http://www.pps.k12.or.us/schools/skyline/template/Skyline_log.jpg

There’s also something weird in the photo of the two girls reading. In the background, top right of the photo and on the blue yoga or wrestling mats, there is a yellow object that looks like it could be yellow printed fabric. Not sure what it is, but it is weird looking:
    http://www.pps.k12.or.us/schools/skyline/template/Skyline_girls_reading.jpg

As to the allegation about the kids all wearing similar glasses, I don’t think it’s any sort of a coincidence or targeting. Kids have fads, and when one kid gets a pair of glasses that others like, everyone else follows along.

I also don’t think it’s terribly strange that the same kids are in multiple photos. In order to use a child’s photo, the school has to get a parent’s permission, which is usually a written form. Plus, you need cute kids who can cooperate and do the photo as requested. Most parents think their kids are photogenic, but there’s a difference between “cute in mom’s scrapbook” photos and photos that the school district needs of kids looking like they are being photographed while reading or playing.

It’s nearly impossible to get your average kid to look natural in an otherwise posed photo, i.e. “I want you to read this book with your friend…” Kids start smirking, joking around, and before you know it, you’ve wasted a lot of time in vain.

  23. justacitizen says:

I see the oddness in some of the school’s website photos.

I chalk the oddness up to coincidence, colored by the emotion and oddness of the case itself. The photos can be seen as benign. And due to some coincidences in the photos, they can also be seen as a threatening message to someone who might understand what was being communicated through them.

Here are some coincidences: the website of an elementary school from which a little boy goes missing has an eagle in predatory mode as a logo; has a photo of a boy looking over his glasses and in costume beard front and center flanked by long red hair and what looks like a slumped over boy with hands in the air; has a photo of a boy giving two thumbs up with a girl pointing a finger at herself; has a photo of boys carrying a log with something behind them that, whatever natural object it may be, looks like a mysterious boy in cap and dark glasses.

As a newcomer, I just wanted to share what I observe: a threatening message that is either real or illusory sparked by coincidences. I have a lot of respect for investigators who know how to sort clues from coincidences. Bless you in your important work.

I’ve no clue what happened to this poor little boy, like I’ve said before I’m sure TH is at the very least a link to what happened to him, but for the life of me I can not understand, nor wrap my head around how a woman that raised a baby from an infant could cold blooded kill that child. I just can’t see it. Maybe it’s because I’m a mother I dunno.
    Again…thank you Jackie.

Prayers and thoughts are with Kyron and his brothers and sister.

    Blink,

Are you at liberty to reveal if the glasses were actually Kyron’s, and if they were, how did they show up?

    Thanks!

Terri now in Roseburg; Kaine says 3rd party involved

    http://www.katu.com/news/local/98673499.html

“KATU News reporter Thom Jensen spotted her pulling out of her parents’ garage with her father, Larry Moulton, as a passenger Saturday just before 9 a.m. in her parents’ car. He attempted to ask her questions but she did not stop.

Earlier in the morning Terri’s father appeared to load women’s clothing into the trunk of the car. He declined to talk as well but warned reporters to stay off the property.

Some of his neighbors wouldn’t talk either. One woman said she, “We don’t want any part of it.”

Those who did talk said they are concerned for the Moultons and for their Terri.

“They’re dealing with the problem as best they could, and they didn’t bring it on themselves,” said a man who declined to be identified. “My sympathies go out with them … to her parents and to her (Terri). I don’t know whether she is guilty or not.”

Another neighbor questioned the media coverage.

“If she’s getting beaten up, why are you beating her up?” he said.

Other Roseburg residents said they wish Terri would start talking because a little boy is missing.

“I think she should come clean and at least tell the truth. I mean, I don’t know what the truth is, but whatever it is it should be told,” said Donna Defea.

Kyron’s disappearance has also touched this sleepy town. At a Holiday Inn Express downtown a Kyron Horman missing poster was spotted.

It is not known whether Terri plans to stay at her parents’ home or if it is just a temporary residence until she finds a new home.

At exactly 3 p.m. Saturday, members of Terri’s legal team left the family’s rural Northwest Multnomah property. They left Terri’s red Mustang on there.

According to a source, the Mustang is not part of the eviction agreement that she and Kaine worked out Friday afternoon through their attorneys, so she could take it.

At about 3:15 p.m. Kaine Horman returned to his home on Shelter Nook Road.

In court documents, Kaine has said he believes that his wife was involved in the disappearance, that he’s learned she tried to hire someone to kill him last year and that after the boy disappeared, she began a sexual relationship with a high school acquaintance of his.

Terri Horman has not been charged with a crime nor named as a suspect by investigators.

Her lawyer did not immediately return calls Saturday seeking a response to the husband’s comments. The Multnomah County sheriff’s office said it would not comment on Kaine Horman’s allegation about a third party.

In his responses to questions Friday, Kaine Horman did not identify a third party.”

@Nate0419: you said…”I did not like Kaines comment yesterday(?) that if she could not have Kaine killed than the next best thing would be to hurt his child. Next Best! if someone wanted to hurt me I beg you, kill me, spare my child! ”

Devil’s Advocate: Maybe Kaine isn’t as “slick” as some people think, and maybe what his meaning was that *in Terri’s mind, if she couldn’t have him (Kaine) killed, then the next best thing would be to hurt his child (Kyron)* Maybe he didn’t intend the selfish meaning interpreted. Of course, that would be giving a grief-ridden, heartbroken man the benefit of the doubt, but still, I’m willing to give it a go.

Jackie~ I totally agree, that is exactly how I took the comment to read.
