Kyron Horman Missing: Kaine And Terri Horman Face Off In Family Court

Portland, Or– Following one of the largest organized search weekends on Sauvie Island since Kyron Horman, 8,was abducted from Skyline School on June 4, his step-mother and father squared off in family court. Kaine Horman, Kyron’s father, arrived with his attorney, Laura Rackner.

Kaine’s estranged wife Terri Horman, arrived with her criminal defense attorney; Stephen Houze and her family law attorney Peter Bunch.

Mr. Horman appeared in a crisp-white dress shirt and tie, and Ms. Moulton-Horman wore an eggplant hued suit with a long skirt.

Cameras were banned in the downtown Multnomah County courtroom; however, there were apparently several hidden “nests” as the tweets were flying real-time.

Peter Bunch, counsel to Terri Horman, is adamant his client is the subject of more than one criminal investigation:

“The state has the ability to obtain every single bit of information that is produced in this case and that is outside the bounds of what it could do were this proceeding not occurring,” Bunch said in court.

“It is fundamentally unfair for Kitty (Kiara) and for Miss Horman for me to be hamstrung in the divorce case for the information I have compared to what they have.” “The publicity that’s going on is not being driven by Ms. Horman, it’s being driven by Mr. Horman, when he tells national media there’s no doubt Ms. Horman is involved.” “If Mr. Horman is really interested in what‘s best for the child, then Mr. Horman wouldn’t object to any visitation by this child’s mother.” “We’ll concede, Mr. Horman can have the house, right now. Mrs. Horman is going to lose money…”

Terri Horman has not been declared a suspect in either Kyron Horman’s disappearance or the alleged murder for hire plot against Kaine Horman. She is however, seeking access to all of her 911 calls dating back to the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS.

While this timeline coincides with accusations by Kaine Horman in his filings that Terri attempted to arrange to have him murdered, this is the first public revelation of that call. Bunch went on to say that Rackner and Kaine Horman, who are parties to case sensitive criminal investigation materials involving Terri, are at a supreme advantage to his client who should only be expected to plead her protections under the 5th amendment as a result.

After heated debate by those sides, we learned: Rudy Sanchez, the infamous landscaper/hitman for hire, has an alias, and has eluded service in the civil matter to date, although he appears to have cooperated. Bunch proclaims Sanchez is unlocatable as a result of MCSO unwillingness to share discovery of a witness in the civil case ( blink holds hands over eyes).

Michael Cook, a/k/a sexter king, waited all afternoon via subpoena by Rackner, but was only interviewed by the press. He states he cut ties with both Terri and Kaine days before he was outed for invasive scapular intrusions. No word on that healing process.

Terri Horman had her own personal black Friday this year.

She called 911 THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS. Regular contributors and readers of blinkoncrime.com doubt she had sale flyer questions.

Judge Keith Meisenheimer, was sensitive to Kaine and Kyron’s ‘round the clock nightmare, but feels some time may allow things to shake out. January 6, 2011 to be exact.

Following this afternoon’s legal melee, blinkoncrime.com Editor In Chief asked prominent Washington State Family Law Attorney, Lea Conner, to weigh in:

Although I preface my comments with the fact that I practice family law in Washington State and not in Oregon, I am an Oregon native that has followed this case closely.

I’m a bit perplexed by Peter Bunch’s reasoning that if the court were to abate the dissolution, he would respond by filing a motion to modify the restraining order so that Terri Horman could have visitation with the parties’ daughter. Essentially, Mr. Bunch is arguing that the abatement would prejudice his client’s ability to parent her child. My understanding of the Multnomah County local rules is that an abatement means that the entire case is halted. Neither party can bring a motion before the court, nor can the court hear argument or make any ruling on motions.

It was also interesting to hear Mr. Bunch argue that proceeding with the divorce would violate Ms. Horman’s right against self-incrimination in the disappearance of her stepson. This is the first time that Terri Horman has publicly acknowledged any self-incrimination issues. In her motion for abatement, Ms. Horman, through counsel, argued that the ongoing investigation into Kyron Horman’s disappearance had made it “virtually impossible…to proceed with divorce-related issues in an effective an[d] orderly fashion[.]” Were Mr. Bunch to bring a motion to allow visitation, Mr. Horman would no doubt argue that Ms. Horman’s actions demonstrate that Ms Horman or someone she knew was responsible for Kyron Horman’s disappearance, and that her behavior since Kyron’s disappearance shows that she is unstable and poses a threat to their daughter’s safety.

I do not believe Mr. Horman would raise Ms. Horman’s 2005 convictions for DUI and reckless endangerment, as not only later chose to have a child with Ms. Horman since that time, he also left both of his children in her care for extended periods while he was at work. Under those facts, it would be hard to conclude that Mr. Horman believed Ms. Horman posed a threat to their daughter. The judge’s comment that “[e]ventually, Terri will have to decide whether or not to plead the fifth, regardless of the timing of the proceedings,” seems to indicate that the judge may not be willing to hold the action in abatement past the January 6, 2011, hearing.

I’m also interested in Mr. Bunch’s comment that “Rudy Sanchez” is an alias. If that’s true, then what is Rudy Sanchez’ real name, and how exactly did he first come in contact with Terri Horman?

It was also strange to learn that Michael Cook was subpoenaed to testify at the hearing. I’m curious if there were others scheduled to testify as well. I cannot speak to how the Oregon court operates in practice. However, I note that each party provided written affidavits in support of their respective motions.

Is there some reason that Mr. Cook’s statement could only be presented in oral testimony?

I’m not sure I understand Mr. Bunch’s logic in saying “If this is not abated we will not get reciprocal discovery.”

The state is not a party to a dissolution action. In a dissolution action, the parties can seek discovery from each other, and depending on the court rules, from third parties as well.

I’m not sure why Mr. Bunch would have the impression that there would be reciprocal discovery with a third party in a dissolution action, especially when that third party is law enforcement.

There’s a disconnect between Mr. Bunch’s argument that Ms. Horman cannot defend herself because she would incriminate herself in the disappearance of her stepson, and his statement that “If Mr. Horman is really interested in what‘s best for the child, then Mr. Horman wouldn’t object to any visitation by this child’s mother.”

The apparent logic is that Ms. Horman admits that if she speaks, she will incriminate herself in some as-yet-to-be-named crime related to Kyron’s disappearance, yet Mr. Horman is now supposed to trust her to care for his other child, because that’s so obviously in their daughter’s best interest.

    After reading through some of the news articles about Zahara Baker, I had some questions. Is there a reason the cadaver dogs were brought into that case after only a few days? I think back to the Ashley/ Miranda story here in the Portland area, what was the reasoning for starting to dig up Ward Weavers backyard? At what point can they bring in a dog like that to seach the Hormans property? Do they need a court order?

    I’m here Malty. Thanks.
    In addition to the obvious frustrations we all have, I also find myself (us) not only trying to track down and make sense of who the elusive “bad guys” are and who did what, but I am also stuck trying to “investigate the investigation” in the same way due to the lack of information LE has provided and their likely use of misleading information as an investigative tool. (I hope this makes sense to you.)

    From a sleuthing standpoint, I’m wondering if other cases (this is my first) are usually this much of a “double investigation” – and how do we make the best use of our time and efforts? Blink – perhaps it’s time for another sleuthing “how-to” lesson in your “spare time”.

    To me, being at 30,000 feet means:
    I will see the big stuff as the little stuff fades into the background. I can now tell which way the river flows, what’s over the next hill, how big the town is and what it’s connected to. So if I look at this case that way, some questions stand out and some fade. Even though the smaller questions stick in my memory, they are no longer a distraction when we have covered them as well as we can, and if others bring them up again, I fight the impulse to pursue them again unless they grow in importance for some verifiable reason. Some of my view is obscured by LE for their purposes or by some who believe they own part of the view and won’t allow us to see clearly.

    When thinking from 30,000 feet, it seems like Occam’s Razor again except that altering your perspective does the job instead of scraping away details and leads that don’t go anywhere.

    SOME of the biggest questions still troubling me (other than the obvious) are ones I have brought up more than once already:
    1 – Did Rudy (aka Rodolfo) have an affair with anyone in the year before Terri? At the same time as Terri? After Terri, but before June 4th?
    2 – How did Rudy get the work at Skyline School – not the money, but who RECOMMENDED and pushed to HIRE him? His skills are not an issue according to comments we have read, but he was not licensed for a lot of the work listed for the Skyline project. Did he have another reason/purpose for being there unrelated to Kyron or outdoor maintenance?
    3 – Did Terri have an affair with anyone in the year before Rudy?
    4 – Did Terri have an affair with anyone at the same time as or after Rudy but before June 4th?
    5 – Did Kaine travel for part of his work at Intel, and if so, how frequently, while Terri stayed home and could arrange to have “free time”?
    6 – Who was NOT part of whatever affairs were carried on, but was in a position to know about one or more of them and take advantage of the information in some way? Or perhaps was a third party?

    These questions are not to judge someone’s lifestyle but to determine who else might have hard feelings that escalated or thoughts of blackmail or an interest in Kyron or be involved in something illegal with Terri, and what Terri was doing with her time.

    SOME questions that seem to fade from 30,000 feet – does Rudy live in Washington or Oregon? I don’t care anymore as long as he can be located by LE at any time. I assume Rudy is not in danger from some gang or cartel, since they could certainly find him as easily as Blink or the Oregonian if he’s out there working. I’m sure he’d be given protection if needed. (I wouldn’t want to tell if I knew where he was anyway.)

    Also fading in my mind – where was Kiara the morning of June 4th (except for the Andrea conversation time at FM #2)? Terri did what she did with or without her before June 4th and on June 4th. The answer to that question is more of a child welfare report and LE already knows anyway.

    So – this is where my mind has been wandering. I was going to post this yesterday but until this morning I kept getting the message that the website was unavailable for some reason.

    Hi Justice23, I wanted to reply to your post about the rain
    and mowing.
    Here in Oregon, it is not uncommon for yard work to be done
    ie, mowing, tree work and etc when it is raining or has rained.
    The neighborhood where I live, the home owners association has
    landscape maintanence come every wednesday to mow and etc, year round.
    The only exception to this would be snow.
    People are still mowing their lawns in Novemeber and the rain doesn’t stop the crews or home owners, with public works personnel included.
    My point is, NO, it is not odd to me that DS was mowing the soccer field. Quite normal activity for that time of year regardless of past or present weather at that time.
    Don’t get me wrong, I have posted many times on my suspisions regarding DS.

    Isn’t James living with TH in Roseburg? If TH cannot have visitation with her daughter Kiara because of what’s in the RO why is it ok for James her son to be living with her? Is TH considered to be a danger to Kiara and not James? Don’t get it.

    -James is not Kaine’s son
    -Kaine cannot speak for James and does not have the legal status as James’ parent to have included him in his request for an RO
    -No one has stepped forward to act in a guardian or court-appointed role, that we know of, to petition a court to keep James away from his mother; I’m sure if that had occurred the press would have reported it
    -James’ biological father, and his former adoptive/stepfather, have not come forward to claim that James should be taken away from TH
    -James’s age counts for a lot — he can probably decide that he wishes to stay with his mother
    -At James’ age there is probably a lot of flexibility in any custody determination, no matter what people say about his mother, who has STILL not be charged with a crime
    -I believe that the MFH plot was bogus heresay, but the RO was temporary (few aren’t) and temporary RO’s can be issued based on heresay sometimes IF the heresay represents a serious issue such as murder, assault, abuse, molestation, etc.
    -I believe that TH had contact and interaction with scumbags and got herself into a mess of trouble
    -I also have never been completely confident that Kaine Horman isn’t hiding something that he doesn’t want the public to hear about concerning his own associations with less-than-nice people.

    All this and more allows James to be with TH. I have no doubt that she is not a danger to her oldest son and I do not think she’s ever been a danger to her daughter. I also believe that as soon as all of this came crashing down on TH last June, that James wanted to support his mother just as her parents wished to do the same.

    James has parents. One of them is not trying to get him away from TH, and Kaine has no standing to ask for that.

    I have many, many doubts about that MFH claim and did from the beginning.

Yes, I am fully aware that the your region is known for it’s rain and no .. you’re right, I am not from OR or WA or anywhere nearby, but I HAVE been to both Portland and Seattle and they are gorgeous places.

    I told my husband after a tradeshow there many many yrs ago that I would move to Portland in a heartbeat … if only all our family wasn’t here nearby. With my tail between my legs presently, I must say though that I can’t imagine living somewhere where it’s commonplace to have to mow your lawn in the rain on a weekly basis. It’s rainy enough where we live, but not quite that bad so we just wait. I realize not all vicinities in the US have that luxury although I never really thought about that when I was questioning. But that is a good point I hadn’t considered, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Hope I didn’t unintentionally insult any of you Pacific Northwesterners … I am actually envious of the beautiful surroundings you get to wake to everyday in Portland. It is one of the most creative and artistically beautiful cities in the US I have ever been to … with or without the rain, LOL {:)

    I think it was skyline who said that an arrest is imminent. They just need to better understand the GK.

    GK is big to me for two reasons. 1) He was always my prime suspect for a couple of reasons but LE has never concentrated on him. They must have their reasons. 2) He was outside and in a position to see things no one else would have. For instance he saw kids go outside to look at a flower bed. With everyone talking about how much it was raining that day it seems a bit odd. How many kids did he see? Any adults? What time? I’m guessing 2 adults, 3 children and about 8:20.

They received the $$$ they requested and Staton said they hope to have the case wrapped up by late January. We shall see.

I think back to the Ashley/ Miranda story here in the Portland area, what was the reasoning for starting to dig up Ward Weavers backyard? At what point can they bring in a dog like that to seach the Hormans property? Do they need a court order?

    ————————————————–

    I believe the reason they brought the dogs in so quickly was that the Stepmother confessed to writing the fake ransom note. I think the fact that the police already had her arrested on multiple, albeit unrelated, charges, helped.

    The note was so off-base, that it was immediately suspicious; having been addressed to someone who didn’t live at that address (the father’s boss), and mention a child that did not exist (the boss’ ‘son’).

    Imo, if you were going to extort someone for money, you’d know their address and family members. Clearly she wrote a fake note to throw the suspicion in other directions.

    Plus, the entire story didn’t add up. I knew there was something hinky as soon as it broke. How does a father live under the same roof and not see his daughter for 2 days? Or have a fire on the premises and not check on her?

    As for the Hormans I guess I would be surprised if they didn’t have a dog search like that in the very early days. I remember Kaine saying how many times the cops were there, and how they were welcome to search over and over. I guess I just assumed dogs were there as well, but maybe they weren’t.

    The “Back to the Future” Perspective:

    I’ve started a list of predictors – things that we actually know (from evidence or credible witnesses, not rumors or guesses) that did occur or were strongly/generally believed to occur before June 4th that might show a pattern or direction leading to Kyron disappearing the morning of June 4th . Could we have predicted something was going to happen if we had all the predictors in advance? If so, what would we have expected to happen?

    I am including what the information is based on (links are welcome if the information isn’t well known already.) The purpose is to set these predictors in place like lights on a runway leading up to the resting place of the plane at the terminal (June 4th), although we may not always know the exact sequence. Hopefully, this will give us another perspective to add to our collection. (There is no set length to the runway – 1 year, 2, or more.)

    Feel free to contribute to the list if you don’t think I’ve gone a bit crazy. I will try to keep track and compile it in about a week, so no one has to copy the whole list and related posts every time. I think it will be interesting to see what the final list is and what it suggests to us. These do NOT have to be only about Terri if they seem to lead toward June 4th events – anything that keeps us on the SAME runway. (Examples – Does DeDe dating Jason fit anywhere or turn us in the wrong direction? Kaine having an affair (Phyllis?) might fit, but I’ve never seen any proof that happened. Anselmo working for Rudy (or even for Jaime) might fit, but I’ve never seen any evidence (including dates) that happened either.)

    List of predictors and the basis for them:
    - Terri’s personality apparently changed to some degree after Kiara was born.
    Based on: Kaine said Terri was moody and had postpartum depression, but Kaine also said he thought she had meds for it but he didn’t know what she was taking (there’s no evidence he actually heard this from a doctor). Possibly Terri was moody for some emotional reason, or she tried steroids to lose the baby weight and get in shape and wasn’t really taking antidep. or was taking both? She indicated later that she wanted to be a bodybuilder again.

    - Terri hired Rudy to do yard work.
    Based on: LE information, another landscaper who said he tried to answer ad

    - Kaine confronted Terri about her spending.
    Based on: according to Terri’s complaints to friends

    - Terri wanted to have Kaine killed.
    Based on: LE information to Kaine. Still has to be considered until we find out otherwise from LE.

    - Rudy, the man she was hoping to manipulate, said no to MFH.
    Based on: what LE has allowed us to know and the fact that Kaine is alive. I know some don’t believe it, but it is still in the running until LE says otherwise.

    - James leaves home with Terri’s approval and or insistence.
    Based on: varying stories that agree on that much. Kaine said James and Terri argued and Terri informed him by phone of James leaving while Kaine was out of town; Terri said Kaine and James argued; James indicated he was unhappy and skipping school.

    - Kyron’s behavior at school changed.
    Based on: The need for behavioral reports from the teacher and the need to talk about following adult directions which Kaine and Desiree both seemed to agree on.

    - Terri changed her behavior toward Kyron.
    Based on: Terri demanded daily school reports and wanted to use discipline which sometimes isolated him in his room, away from the family in the evenings – Kaine said. Desiree said he was more emotional about going back home – no proof related to why.

    - Terri was angry at Rudy and sent LE to talk to him on May 9th.
    Based on: 911 call and LE information. Her version of what happened may or may not be true, but something happened and she used LE to punish Rudy for it. There is no proof that I know of that Rudy actually went to the house on May 9th – apparently, only Kiara was there with her. (Consider previous use of LE with her 2nd husband and child support.)

    - Terri had a weight change for some reason between her birthday party and the first press conference.
    Based on: Pictures. Not unusual for people to have, but maybe for someone who writes that she wants to do bodybuilding again and is said to have had a personality change (which may or may not have ended).

    More?

    I commend the phone calls … BUT I believe each of us MUST STEP-IT-UP.

    Child after child “story” of abuse, neglect & more times than not, a death of a child is becoming more “routine” in our daily lives than “isolated incident”.

    I believe phone calls to CPS is good -BUT- I believe we also should CALL the POLICE. IF a person believes
    drugs are involved, than call DEA, too.

    How many times, once the police are “notified” that a child has “disappeared”, “records” show up of “calls” to CPS ??? It is the police who are left again to pick up the pieces of another child’s ruined life.

    Does it not reason that the “way” society is “treating” child neglect etc. is NOT working & we NEED to CHANGE our/the BEHAVIOR ? -since- the old behavior is NOT stopping all this madness ?

    Yes, I am p’d off by the “case of” of Kyron, Zahra, Caylee … enough is enough, there has to be a way to stop this run away train wreck of children in our communities.

    We need to “call the authorities if we are suspicious” -AND- call ALL the authorities -AND- keep a LOG of DATE, PH#, PERSON NOTIFIED, DEPT. & KEEP CALLING.

    IF possible take photos, videos, write license plate #’s, whatever – COLLECTION EVIDENCE to SUPPORT your concerns. This has to stop NOW.

    IF @ ANYTIME the person you reach either refuses to give their name -or- “brushes you off” & tells you to “call someone else” — ASK for their SUPERVISOR & get the supervisor name, dept., & phone number. TREAT your phone calls AS IF THIS WAS YOUR OWN CHILD IN PERIL.

    We need to have our ACTIONS -&-our WORDS AGREE in our FIGHT for children BEFORE a child is LOST.

    It takes a VILLAGE to RAISE a CHILD–so by God, let’s RAISE our VOICES to STOP this MADNESS.

    PS. I am leaning towards making calls to the local DA & local media. Just as each, DA & media, get involved after a child is “lost”, may be having them involved “before” will help create ACCOUNTABLE.

    PSS> There are lawyers posting/ reading @ BOC- Do any of you have suggedtions of the BEST way to create accountability w/ reporting child abuse/ neglect etc ?

    TIA

    I like your “back to the Future” Perspective. Regarding the May 9th 911 call, this is from Blinks thread, Birthday wishes to the Frog Prince: “Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a close family friend who has since been interviewed by the FBI, has confirmed that Terri Horman is pointing her finger directly at Sanchez. She has also stated that she and Sanchez had an altercation after she attempted to end their relationship in May which ended in a 911 call and a visit from Clackamas County Sheriff Office in the presence of Sanchez’s wife and children. While it did not result in any charges, Horman told the source that the landscaper was furious with her because he is not in the US legally. While blinkoncrime.com has not been able to verify the date of the alleged 911 call, we have been able to verify that Terri called her Mother immediately following the incident and told her that Kaine had found out about the landscaper she hired to do what she referred to as “her yardwork” and when she informed him that she could no longer use him because Kaine was making her fire him, he lunged at her with Kiara in her arms. Kaine Horman denies the couple ever hired the landscaper as well as any previous information as to his estranged wife’s possible dealings with Sanchez.”

    On May 19th Elsy Mejia-Sanchez disappears along with her children Jamie Mejia and Ubaldo Sanchez-Mejia.

    I believe there were 3 different sets of dogs that searched the school. One set was dogs that sense strong emotion (I didn’t even know there was such a thing). I’m assuming the other two sets were a set looking specifically for Kyron’s scent and a set looking for remains. Just because no one has come out and said they have used cadavar dogs, doesn’t mean they haven’t. I’m also assuming that Kaine let them search him property as many times and with as many teams as they wanted. I’ve heard nothing to indicate otherwise.

    I’m looking forward to reading more of your list, but I respectfully disagree with this predictor. Not only did Kaine Horman refute this, but Desiree Young herself backtracked on that statement in her Oprah appearance.

    —————-
    I did hear Desiree say that to Oprah and we thought at the time it was probably a more balanced perspective after counseling. Kaine, at the beginning of the investigation, agreed in one interview but he said it was no more than you’d expect any other kid to go through when dealing with 2 homes and going back and forth.
    I think you are right that we should take that sentence out because it isn’t proven to be accurate.

    Thanks – I was hoping others would chime in.

    Hi Everyone, don’t clobber me on this because I don’t have the link yet – what I’m wondering about is Elsy. Remember when someone wrote into a comments section in one of the local news sites about being a “friend” of the landscaper and that RS was asked by Terri to do the hit on Kaine? They said he told Terri to move out and that he didn’t take her request seriously. One of our posters attached a link and maybe a snip too. Blink commented on it, something along the lines of “it’s his wife LOL”. Anyway, this “friend” also said that the landscaper had a 7 year old son and really felt bad for the Hormans. Elsy has disappeared and the only kids on the poster are younger, like 5 and 2. Where is this 7 year old son? This friend could be full of BS, but that begs the question, if Elsy really is LS wife, did he have a child from a previous relationship? Is the boy a student at Skyline or perhaps a boy scout? Is that how Kyron would know LS? I know that the friend of LS could be making things up, but this “he also has a 7 year old son” statement really has me spooked. I’ll try to find the actual comment. I have looked all over the place and no go. If this is true, the landscaper could have been one of the parents at the school that day, rather than a contractor. I know that LE would know this already – I’m just saying, we have 2 pictures of Kyrons project, with a different man in each. They may not be involved at all. The man with the lumberjacket on – he is bending over, so we can’t see his head. Many have commented on the fact that the little girl with him looks like the 4-5 year old missing with Elsy. Those kids have been missing since May 19th. Why would this little girl be at the SF in June (especially with dad, who reported them missing/kidnapped)? There were so many people at the SF, lots of whom we don’t have a picture of, that could be the culprit.It also could be the Elsy is not RS’ wife, if the statement about a 7 year old son is true. Man, I wish I could find that comment to confirm!

    I couldn’t get on BOC yesterday evening either, Malty.

    I still think of Kyron every day and pray for his return. And, for the monsters that are involved in his disappearance, I believe there is a special place in hell for you.

    Mockingbird, IMO, your post about “what we do know” was right on target and so beautifully penned. I am at 30,000 feet now and the cloud cover is pretty intense. But, there are a few things that are fairly clear, as you pointed out.

    As you said, I don’t think we can dismiss the MFH. From the moment I heard about the alleged MFH, I have believed it to be an integral piece of the tragic puzzle we have yet to solve.

    To your list, I also would add that TMH has that 90 minute hole in her alibi. I think what she did in that time period will eventually be revealed, and when it is, I believe all of us will be shocked and saddened.

    Two things I heard from KH and TY during the pressers have really stuck with me:

    1- Kaine said (something to the effect of) TMH was very good with Kyron early in their relationship, but not so good later on. IMO, this clearly indicates something changed between TMH and Kyron.
    2- Tony Young stated unequivocally that he “absolutely” believes TMH is responsible. The expression he wore on his face as he said that tells me he has been privy to some inside information, and this information has led him directly to her.

    I just hope and pray that LE’s investigation is progressing to the point that there will be some sort of resolution soon.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And, I am praying very hard for beautiful little Zahra Baker, and hoping that her tormentors/killers are soon behind bars where they always should have been.
    ———————————–
    I haven’t considered what Terri says as actual verification of how things happened, since it changes. While the close family friend verifies that Terri is blaming Rudy, Blink only verifies that Terri told her mother a version – the way I read it. To her friend, she blamed Rudy’s (alleged) behavior on her breaking up with him. To her mother, she blamed Rudy’s (alleged) behavior on Kaine making her fire him. I’ve wondered if he broke up with her and she threatened him in some way (maybe putting other jobs in jeopardy). Regardless of what happened or didn’t, she did call LE about him in a sort of “wait ‘till your father gets home” way.
    Are you suggesting we should add “On May 19th Elsy Mejia-Sanchez disappears along with her children Jamie Mejia and Ubaldo Sanchez-Mejia.” If so, do you have a link or report verifying that they are related to this case? In all the searching this group has done about Elsy, if anything definite turned up connecting her or her disappearance with the kids, I missed it (which is certainly quite possible). Thanks.
    “@FLGirl
    There were dogs searching properties near the school the first weekend. They went back and searched with dogs at least one more time after that. I don’t know what kind of dogs they were (what they were trained to find).”
    FLGirl said: “As for the Hormans I guess I would be surprised if they didn’t have a dog search like that in the very early days. I remember Kaine saying how many times the cops were there, and how they were welcome to search over and over. I guess I just assumed dogs were there as well, but maybe they weren’t.”
    ****************************************
    I know that dogs were used to search around the school and on SI early in the investigation, but I don’t remember reading about a search of the Horman property. What if TH was not driving around from 10:10 to 11:39 the morning of 6/4, but was at home and called DDS over to help her dig in the yard or plant something in a certain spot? Then she went to the gym to establish another alibi before returning home to post the pics on FB? If something happened at home and she were hiding something on the property, TH would want LE to believe she was still out traveling in her car instead.
  39. MockingbirdSings says:
    @jan – Craigslist was a good concept, but, unfortunately, it attracts people with both good and bad intentions, not to mention crazy ideas. I never use it anymore, however, I know people who still do legitimately try to sell something or advertise to do handyman work, etc. If Terri did use it to advertise for lawn help, she probably got a bunch of replies. If so, I hope she didn’t give them her address and invite them all over to see the yard.
    I suspect, but cannot verify, that someone introduced her or told her about Rudy personally, or that she met him at the school. I would hope the school project people did not use Craigslist to find him or anyone else!
    I’m a “mandatory reporter” in Oregon and have witnessed and reported abuse on several occasions. Some calls were to DHS and at least one was to 911. Each time, the agencies made me feel like a nuisance and a “Tattle-Tale”. Each time I’ve gotten off of the phone, I’ve felt uncertain about what I’d done. I’d ask myself: “Was it really that bad?”. They sounded so impatient and so busy; I never got the feeling anything would be investigated or any action taken.
    The result seems to be that I’ve become more tolerant of the harsh way people treat children. I try to remember that we all parent differently. I hesitate now before taking action. “Just how much can I stand to watch before I’ll risk calling DHS or the police again?” is what I ask myself.
  45. riverpearl says:
    So, it begins w/TMH & attorneys.
    Terri Moulton Horman seeks regular visits with daughter Kiara
    “Terri Moulton Horman is seeking regular and frequent contact with her 22-month-old daughter Kiara” …
    “In a motion filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court this week, Terri Horman’s attorney Peter Bunch argues that his client is the primary
    caregiver for Kiara”… [Not in the last 4 months...]
    Terri Horman “is not in a position at this time to testify on her own behalf in support of an award of custody and parenting time,” her lawyer said, “because of the ongoing criminal investigation into Kyron Horman’s disappearance.” [So w/o TMH speaking, she should get regular and frequent contact with Kiara ??? WTH?]
    “Bunch said that Kaine Horman has refused, despite repeated requests, to let Terri Horman see her daughter under any circumstances.”
    “Yet, after the most recent court hearing in which a judge granted a 90-day delay in the divorce proceedings, Kaine Horman appears to be at least open to considering the idea of supervised parenting time for his estranged wife, the court documents say.”
    “Bunch said he would also provide an expert who would testify that there are number of safety provisions the court could impose “to address any concerns that either the court or petitioner has as to Kiara’s emotional and physical well-being.” [What are the PROVISIONS IMPOSED on TMH to NOT HARM, RUN OR ANYTHING ELSE ???]
    “Yet, if Kaine Horman insists on having someone professionally supervise his estranged wife’s visits with her daughter, he should pay because Terri Horman is not employed and has no income or significant assets, Bunch argues.” [Is she not receiving over $500/mo child support & paid a $350K retainer ??][Does it not always seem that TMH gets MONEY into the conversation & HER NEED for it ??]
    “Multnomah County Judge Keith Meisenheimer last week delayed divorce proceedings until Jan. 6. At last week’s hearing, Bunch told the judge he’d be filing this motion to modify the restraining order, allowing for his client’s visitation with her daughter. He also said he’d be seeking an expedited hearing on the matter.” [Once again it is only about TMH and her needs}
