Regarding the bio I shared, it was to make the point that I believe my Dad was the victim of sexual abuse in an orphanage beginning at the age of five. He was a throw away kid, for awhile. He overcame. I am here to do what I can.

erose- I would do nearly anything to make that different, but as I know I cannot, I will continue to be thankful for your advocacy in the face of it.

Here’s to the Fathers who make a difference by taking time and attention to teach us things that matter. Like, the North Star.

And all the sports I learned with my right hand. Tennis wasn’t one of his skills so I learned it on my own–leftie. He would love to know what a great advantage that is.

More than anything I learned to be friendly and kind. To laugh easily; to look for pennies, dimes, and useful junk; to relish the flavor of fresh produce and to properly choose and cook a steak; to forgive and forgive and try to forget; to go new places and not be afraid; to speak clearly and say thank you; to watch out for other kids and animals–to make sure there’s nothing wrong with them; and to always to get on my knees to say goodnight to God.

My Dad protected me and I’ll be damned if I’m going to look the other way while some other kid gets hurt. Right now I’m working on my ‘action’ moves–in case I encounter something along the way.

    The PA State Police Investigation

The Patriot News stated the discovery of the 1998 University Park Police report was the big break in the case. However, according the the Freeh Report (page 83), the state police obtained the report on January 3, 2011. This 100 plus page report, that included the transcribed taped interviews of Victim 6 and B.K. has gone missing.

Records also show that the state police did not obtain a search warrant for the Second Mile files until January 2011. It is beyond credulity that the state police, who are investigating the founder and face of Second Mile, did not get a warrant for Second Mile at the outset of the investigation.

In July 2011, the AG’s office filed a motion to hold Second Mile in contempt for not producing files requested through a secret grand jury subpoena. The AG’s office dropped the contempt motion in October 2011, when Second Mile produced some of the files from the early 2000s. Other files are missing. A subpoena for their financial records wasn’t delivered until after Sandusky was charged Nov. 4, 2011 — after Sandusky was charged.

Records also show that the state police do not get a search warrant for Sandusky’s residence until June 21, 2011. Nearly three years after the beginning of the investigation, and more than seven months after acknowledging that they had Sandusky on 400 counts of child abuse. Again, it is well documented that pedophiles engage in the trading, distribution, and selling of child pornography over the internet. In 1998, Victim 6 stated that Sandusky offered to take him to his house were he had a “cool computer” and he “could sit on his lap and they could go on-line.” The police had access to this report, as it was attached to the 1998 PSU police report, yet they waited six months to get the warrant for Sandusky’s home (and his computer).

Based on information from a source on the Second Mile staff, state police did not search the offices of TSM or interview TSM staff employees from 2008 to January 2012.

The mother of Victim 6 could not have been more right, “This whole thing just stinks so much more than we all know.”

Except that now we’re finding out.

To whom do the state police report in Pennsylvania? This whole investigation is being handled like someone walking on eggs. There is dirt everywhere. If the public had access to the information or even a little of it, there would have been a hugh outcry.

A lot of people were and IMO still are playing CYA in regards to this series of crimes.

  8. beejay says:

If you want to read Jeffrey Toobin’s interview with Spanier, it’s at the link below. So, I guess Spanier is doing that top-secret-national-security work from a rented apartment in State College. We still just have finger-pointing. There’s gonna be plenty of people who need to be found guilty–of something. If they ever get prosecuted.

BTW, one of the mobster crowd that Bucceroni named (Rappaport) gave a big summer party each year for Philadelphia politicos, particularly Rendell. There’s an internet link for that somewhere.

“Over two days last month, I visited Spanier at his apartment in State College, and we talked about the Sandusky scandal and its aftermath….”

@erose. Re warrant for TSM at the outset. imo the alleged crimes were Jerry’s, not the organization’s at that point.
imo lacked probabke cause. As to Jerry’s house, depended ontgeir evidence the crimes being investigated at that point occurred in his home for probable cause. Maybe the basement vics hadn’t been identified yet.

Personally I think one or more Board members, one who was a politician with a personal grudge, recommended and ensured the retention of Freeh to get a political result with Spanier, Paterno, Schultz, & Curley. The publication of was a one-sided and superficial report was a fait accompli with this very public pre-investigation run by Freeh’s firm.
If I were the 3-some plus Estate, I’d do a joint litigation against the Board and Penn State after the criminal matter is resolved. Imo the BOT, primarily its political leadership, wanted to get rid of Spanier & Paterno (whom they did not know would die). Schultz & Curley were little fish indicted by a righteously angry grand jury on perjury charges (which is SO easy to achieve) in order to plead them out against the 2 targets JP & GS. They were not indicted on underlying criminal acts (I don’t think).

@Beejay, You linked the best article to date on Spanier’s ‘splaination. This paragraph confuses me, as the Chancellor of Altoona is a female and her bio says she has been there since 2005. Who does Spanier mean when he speaks of the one who prompted his one and only coversation with Sandusky.

And BTW, he painted himself in a corner with that remark, IMO. If he so much as talked to Sandusky, about anything and someone can prove it, he will be a proven liar. I would be interested in who the person is, that wanted Sandusky to coach on their campus.

    snip>
I only had one conversation with him in my life. That was shortly after he retired, and I couldn’t tell you if it was a few months, or a year, or how long it was after he retired. But that one conversation was prompted by the person we would now call chancellor of the Altoona campus of Penn State. He had ambitions for the campus to substantially grow in enrollment. And one of the things he thought would give visibility to the campus is if they had a football team. He wanted a Division II football team. Very expensive; I said no. But he wanted Jerry Sandusky to come out of retirement and coach it…. As a courtesy, I met with them, just to hear them out, and then afterwards we said, “No, we’re not going to have a football team.” …

In 2005, Dr. Bechtel-Wherry was appointed as Penn State Altoona’s Chancellor, the first woman to hold such a position in the college’s history.

  15. erose says:

I get it. Duh. They did not call the position chancellor at Penn State in 1999, perhaps it was CEO/Dean.

Chancellor-elect Meadors is currently Chief Executive Officer and Dean of Penn State Altoona. He was one of three finalist and was recommended to the board by UNC President Molly C. Broad.

Dr. Meadors will begin his duties July 1 replacing Chancellor Joseph B. Oxendine, who has served UNCP for 10 years. The new chancellor’s salary will be $145,000.

    http://www.uncp.edu/news/1999/meadors.htm

Sooooo…is this the guy that wanted football/Sandusky in Altoona?

  16. beejay says:

@erose: Paterno had some role in the discussion of taking PSU football to Altoona also. There was, IIRC, a big-bucks guy willing to bankroll it. Deal fell thru. Maybe Paterno, just like Spanier, was only playing lip-service to the PSU-football-at-Altoona idea. Part of placating Sandusky, perhaps? Spanier indicates it was never intended to happen. Sigh. So hard to rely on any of our informants because most of them are known liars-strategists.

I didn’t watch Spanier’s ABC-TV interview last night. Was busy cleaning lint out of my purse or something.

BTW, there were interesting student “resistance” movements during Triponey’s years. Ran across one well-spoken student who believed Spanier enlisted Triponey to further his effort to control student publications. There was a take-down of an existing campus publication, and a different one substituted. Sounded believable to me. Erased my cache.

I’m more interested in a Don.

  17. beejay says:

“Asked if he got the impression Penn State was trying to push Sandusky off its campus, Meadors told the Mirror last April, “absolutely none.”

“It was a very positive meeting so if something was going on, everyone kept very professional,” he said.”

That’s what Meadors supposedly said about the whole football-at-Altoona thing, when asked if he thought someone at PSU was trying to find a place for Sandusky to go. There’s stuff in same article about Paterno, Spanier, etc.

Does anyone believe that in 1998-1999 Paterno thought there should be football at EVERY PSU campus??? Was he merely placating Sandusky so he could say, “well, Jer, I tried for ya”? Or was he looking for a place to dump Sandusky? I just DK

OK, I quickly found the article(s) about Triponey and student govt, on campus publications, and Spanier. IIRC, I went to it because someone who is now in touch with Bucceroni linked to it. Maybe even was involved with the events during his time at PSU–i don’t remember.

IDK what’s truthful in this. My interest is in finding connections amongst the various parties. And in alumni of the time periods we’re seeing come up now.

  19. beejay says:

Sheer opinion here. Bucceroni is going to continue having trouble getting MSM involved, for a variety of reasons. One I don’t think he fully appreciates is that Ganim, who he’s trying to get help from, is in a precarious position now. She can’t afford, I would think, to jeopardize her “rising star” status with any reporting that’s not A-caliber. She has to go slow with it all.

Bucceroni DID get coverage from a minor State College area publication (see Bucceroni’s twitter of yesterday) that mentioned his presence at the Philadelphia news conference called by Spanier’s attys. Unfortunately, as he admits, Bucceroni lost his cool and shouted out that Freeh is a bastard and that Bucceroni supports Spanier’s attorneys. Sigh.

I so totally understand Bucceroni’s reactions. But Ganim, nor others in MSM, can afford any involvement with such volatile stuff. I’m with Bucceroni, completely, as a victim. And in his efforts for justice. But he’s going to be viewed as a loose cannon by MSM. Just too hard on him at this point in his personal journey, IMO.

  20. A Texas Grandfather says:

More lawyers for PSU administration are making statements about the Freeh report being less than the truth. He didn’t do an acceptable job on his report about the attack of the ATF on Waco either.

I was more than a little suprised that he was as hard on the administration of PSU in the report.

More and more I am leaning towards reducing the size of colleges and universities so they can be better managed and the public can know more about what goes on.

  21. beejay says:

  24. Rose says:

the way I read Spanier’s comment was that the CEO of Altoona was pushing for football Div II, which is expectable from a chancellor, and I felt Jerry & one or more donors had prdviously met with the Chancellor to push it & offer his services. I believe Spanier referred to one meeting in his job capacity; doesn’t rule out being introduced on the street ten years ago. I think Jerry is a manipulative xxxx, and Spanier was pretty intact & decisive in the Altoona matter.

[So this is someone Sandusky shared porn with?]

The unidentified source, who “has a strong tie to the booster he is accusing,” is claiming that Sandusky and the fundraiser sexually abused two boys while on a private plane in Pennsylvania, RadarOnline reported.

“He claims it happened on a private plane, with no pilot or crew around, and that he was an eyewitness.”

OT/maybe – but the legends are sure falling lately. There has to be a reason that the NCAA scrubbed Paterno’s record all the way back to 1998. We have yet to hear why Sassano stumbled upon Sandusky’s phone #, but Sassano is a drug investigator, who got wrapped up in a child sexual abuse case. Makes me wonder how his drug investigation is going.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency erased 14 years of Lance Armstrong’s career Friday – including his record seven Tour de France titles – and banned him for life from the sport that made him a hero to millions of cancer survivors after concluding he used banned substances.

Armstrong, who retired a year ago, said Thursday that he would no longer challenge USADA and declined to exercise his last option by entering arbitration. He denied again that he ever took banned substances in his career, calling USADA’s investigation a “witch hunt” without a shred of physical evidence.

He is now officially a drug cheat in the eyes of his nation’s doping agency.

    erose

Yes, Lance Armstrong gave up the fight with the USADA today. This fight is just like the one Sara Palin was fighting in Alaska when she was governor. This agency has zero proof that Armstrong ever used drugs to enhance his performance, yet they continued to harass him.

This agency is being run by a person who has a vendetta to get Armstrong. He has retired and will spend time working with his cancer charity. Two of his major commercial supporters have announced that they will continue to back him.

Spanier is in trouble and is fighting back. Making public appearances may or may not help his situation. Someone has reported that Spanier was a know homosexual. If that is true, he may have taken steps to protect Sandusky.

At the risk of making some angry, I am going on record that IMO no one who has homosexual tendencies should ever allowed to be affiliated with any public or private school or charity where our youth attend.

ATG: I heart u, but as a staunch advocate against pedophiles, I am telling you that there is NO CORRELATION. Pedophilia is a psycho sexual disorder unrelated to adult mutual sexual attraction of any kind.

I spent the Summer studying it specifically, after spending the last few years working on cases that I have not written on and I know exactly where and how you developed that thought process.

A bunch of pedo freaks wanted to take advantage of the whole NAM*** movement when GLAD “endorsed” them initially to figure out it was absolutely not a gay thing, and frankly that is what set the pedo rings of the late 70′s into motion and hiding, or rather the dragnets that were really about homophobia at first.

A Pedophile is an adult with a sexual attraction to a pre-pubescent child, usually under the age of 13.

There are female pedos, and pedos that are attracted to young girls, and therefore the homosexual characterization is inappropriate.

While I agree that explaining homosexuality to children along with the lessons of inappropriate gestures and invasions of personal privacy can be convoluted, I think as adults we need to be clear that it is not.

Pedophilia is such a disabling, and frankly dangerous and disturbing disorder without a cure ( I am being intentionally vanilla in my description because it is pointless- I have such a disdain for these profiles I cannot even contain it).

In my opinion no pedophile should ever see the light of day once they offend, and if certain markers are present, I would support locking them up before they have a chance.

Sexual attraction to children has nothing to do with adult sexual preference between consenting adults, whether it is something any of us agree with or not.

AND just because it is a sickness I will never and have never cared about it’s origin, I care about the protection of our innocent and vulnerable children.

I have learned so very, very much from you I cherish. I am asking you if you can, to consider my points and update your thinking on this or as I know you are more than fluent, do your own research if you feel I have not provided the right support for my argument. That would never offend me.

Lastly, I think evaluating any person who comes into contact with our youth in any way, but most specifically in a position of perceived public trust is an absolutely mandatory requirement. I agree with you vehemently in that regard.

Don’t make me repeat the Jake in the refrigerator story- lol

  30. lizzy says:

    B,

Is pedophilia the correct classification for Sandusky’s disorder? While he began grooming and touching his victims when they were young, it seems his full-out sexual assaults occurred when they were older. (Which seems to me may increase the tendency of the victims to blame themselves, to fear that they will be categorized as homosexuals, and may have counter-intuitively have helped in “keeping the secret.”) Would Sandusky’s behavior be more correctly classified as ephebophilia (sexual preference for mid-to-late adolescents) or hebephilia (sexual preference for earlier pubescent individuals)? Also, are those disorders more correlated with gender preference than pedophilia? Not in the sense of frequency, but with the gender selection of the victims.

Overall yes, with the information I have and we know about Sandusky. To distill it further I would need to discuss more specific details as potential if not known, and this is not the forum to do that. Believe it or not, a pedo reading that learns to evolve on occasion.

    B

  31. beejay says:

Here’s the thing. When Spanier goes to trial, his defense atty will be fighting all of the confusion between homosexuality and pedophilia that exists in the minds of jurors. I would say, most jurors.

His past championing of the gay-lesbian-transgender-whatever causes, which are very well known and publicized, will be used against him in court. As in all those prosecutorial attempts to introduce those thoughts into jurors’ minds–despite the judge’s striking them from the record and instructing jurors to ignore them.

He is not “out of the closet”, assuming those widespread rumors of bisexuality, and I can’t imagine prosecutors even trying to go there. There’s no science behind it; it would annoy the judge; and they wouldn’t even need to include that.

They will, IMO, play up the existing confusion in jurors minds.

I’m on the run, big time, but if I can quickly retrieve some summary links I’ll post shortly.

Hugs to you, ATG. You might want to look at folks like Bill Conlin, who has recently been accused of sexually abusing both boys and girls. He has biological children of his own. So, we have to think what is he, psychosexually? He functions well as a heterosexual with adult female(s). And, if the charges are true, he also has abused children, both boys and girls. It’s complicated; but surely the facts point away from him being primarily a homosexual.

  32. beejay says:

Here’s a good article, I think, from Daily Beast. Author Diane Dimond, brings up Spanier’s refusal to even look into Paul McLaughlin’s charges against Neisworth. Also, here’s what I was referencing:

“Also waiting in the wings, itching to possibly testify against Spanier, is former Pennsylvania legislator John Lawless. As a former member of the state’s House Appropriations Committee, Lawless once led an effort to withhold state funds from PSU after complaints that the school was sanctioning sex-oriented events on campus. Specifically cited at the hearing was the November 2000 “C festival” (designed to reclaim a derogatory word for a woman’s body part) and the Womyn’s Sex Faire held in February 2001.”

There’s more at the article. But if they can get it said in front of a jury, this will create problems for Spanier. DESPITE the fact that Califia had already changed his/her position wrt adult-child sex (more correctly called “child sex abuse”) not too long before the Sex Faire on PSU campus. I believe that happened once he and his significant other had a child. Another snip:

“A featured speaker at the Sex Faire was Patrick Califia-Rice, a transgender man who has advocated sex between adults and children on the website of the pedophile-advocacy group NAMBLA (the National American Man-Boy Love Association).

At the Feb. 28, 2001, committee hearing, Spanier was asked directly if he thought the Sex Faire was wrong or immoral. The PSU president apologized for certain parts of the event, but maintained that the university was committed to what he termed “free speech.” He added in pure Clintonesque style, “It depends on what your definition of immoral is.””

  33. beejay says:

Here’s the wikipedia writing on Califia, who is certainly a person with a psychosexually complicated profile.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Califia

If interested in a preview of the possiblities for Spanier’s trial, go to the link below and scroll down to Matt Rice. He is the mother of a child he gave birth to while partnered with Patrick Califia. Their child is autistic and Matt is raising him alone. Both Rice and Califia were born female, I think I’ve got that right. The photo of the bearded “mother” and his significant other will not play well, at a deep intrapsychic level, with jurors.

But, then, I’m sure Spanier knew nothing about Califia’s appearance on campus till it was over. Also, Spanier has said he believes in free speech (as do I). And it’s a college campus–a place for introducing students to a wide range of ideas.

  34. A Texas Grandfather says:

    Blink and beejay

I know that both of you have knowledge based on research. I, like always, am never fixed on anything that has to do with science or human behavior. We have made great progress in both areas, but there is so much more to learn.

Over my lifetime I have experienced the behavor of homosexuals some of whom have been my friends and others have not. I have always distrusted that type of behavior where they have contact with youths.

I worked with a guy in the middle 1950′s who was married and had three little boys. One day, all of us got the shock of our lives when he was picked up in a police sting for engaging in a ring of Homo/bi-sexuals that had been trading boys between the ages of ten and sixteen. This ring also included homosexual activities with adults as well.

He had completly fooled his wife and she was devastated. We all came together to help the family. He was convicted along with a dozen others and served time. From that time forward, I have never fully trusted anyone who exhibited such tendencies.

I am willing to do the research to try and seperate the differences of pedaphilia and homosexal behavior. Perhaps with more knowledge, I will conclude differently. The criminal report by the gentleman working in the FBI did NOT convince me that pedophelia is an isolated deviate behavior.

    Hugs to both of you.

Hug you back, it is not isolated, it is deviant. No question. I can understand how you feel, and I frankly do not blame you because I believe it is the most understudied and misunderstood of deviances because it is absolutely sickening and inconceivable to psychosexually healthy Adults.

I love you for being open, and at your age and level of societal experience is an accolade to you.

It is also a testament to your advocacy.

One of the reasons I am so vehement about the fact that their is no correlation between Adult homesexuality and pedophilia, is because one of the ways Pedos “guilt” their victims is exactly through that fear. That they are branded as homosexuals should they tell anyone, as opposed to a child victim.

I cannot tell you how much that upsets me for these helpless and vulnerable prey- Sandusky was masterful at it. He did not go undetected as long as he did, and un-challenged otherwise and I want to break down any false witness of any kind, if you catch my drift.

I so appreciate you being open.

    Update

: after this interview was posted, I was contacted by Charles A. De Monaco, an attorney for Cynthia Baldwin, who recently stepped down as general counsel to Penn State. De Monaco said:

In light of the on-going legal proceedings, it would be inappropriate to comment publicly on specific issues referenced in the Freeh Report. However, Cynthia A. Baldwin, as the Vice President and General Counsel of the Pennsylvania State University, along with the University’s Office of General Counsel, cooperated fully with the Special Investigative Counsel led by Judge Freeh.

You should be aware that much of the information in the Freeh Report is factually inaccurate as it relates to Ms. Baldwin, and no one should draw conclusions until all the facts are known. As JudgeFreeh made clear in his Report, no one, not even his client, the University, had an advance copy of the Report so that inaccuracies could be corrected. Ms. Baldwin was never given the opportunity to review the content of the interviews that she provided to Judge Freeh’s agents so that any mistakes in note-taking or understanding could be corrected.

My client Cynthia Baldwin, as the General Counsel of the University, has chosen to maintain confidentiality and to uphold herethical obligations to her client, the University, and to her profession, and no one should use her silence to speculate and make statements that serve to ruin her long and stellar legal reputation as a practicing lawyer, an academic, a Common Pleas Court Judge, a Supreme Court Justice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and as General Counsel for The Pennsylvania State University. Those who know Cynthia Baldwin know the stories that have been written about her thus far are inaccurate. Cynthia Baldwin at all times fulfilled her obligations to the University and its agents.

  36. A Texas Grandfather says:

Did anyone read Diane Dimond’s article in the Daily Beast concerning Spanier and his activities at PSU? She covered some things that were unknown to me.

If what she wrote is true, the BOT should have fired him on the spot for the wide open sexual activity sponsored by the school. If this guy was sexually abused as a child, he certainly did not learn anything from it.

In taking the link Steve made about the airplanes we find that PSU has five aircraft. Three helicopters and two turboprop fixed wing. We don’t know the make or model of the fixed wing craft. The link on the site referring to his airport is really a link to the commercial airport.

There is a picture of a Beech Kingair 250 turboprop with people boarding. This plane can carry up to ten passengers and a crew of two. I have flown right hand seat on just such an aircraft. There is plenty of room on this plane to use it as a place for sexual assault of a child. It would not need to be airborne. Just close the door and pull the curtains on the windows. Sickening.

@ATG: I totally second what Blink said. My hug to you earlier was an acknowledgment and a ‘thank you’ for being willing to bring openness of mind, and concern, to this topic.

As a retired clinician, who originally trained as a researcher, I did not specialize in this area. But I have to say that individual behavior is far more complex than it appears to be in research findings. When you structure a study, you necessarily must simplify–over-simplify–every single subject (individual) in that group.

When you see them in a clinical setting, however, you find every one of them is more complex than the “numbers” make them appear. Which is why I raised Bill Conlin as an example.

Where is the truth? I think it’s worth setting aside our beliefs forr; questioning the data for; continually looking for. Doesn’t mean we won’t waiver and wobble back and forth in our opinions. Especially when things get emotional. As they always do, especially when children are involved.

Again, I salute you for your willingness to learn, and mostly to care.

  38. beejay says:

Dead men don’t talk. That notion whips me into a frenzy of activity. I do so wish William A. Schreyer were still alive. He flew to Nebraska to visit with Spanier during the 1994-1995 PSU presidential search.

I have lost my notes on the membership of that search committee. Doesn’t matter, since we’ll never know WHY Spanier was sought out. ALL of the reasons why.

One of those search committee members I do remember is Donald M. Cook, Jr. Now a PSU Trustee Emeritus, but on the active roll back then. I ran across him again in looking into Donald Abbey.

Cook (PSU class of ’52) has been a significant donor to his old fraternity, same one that Abbey was in; that Abbey donated the millions to restore the frat house.

Cook’s donations, in Beta Theta Pi’s 2006-2007 published acknowledgments, earned him the designation of “President’s Club”.

    to Texas Grandfather:

I recall that Spanier has said he was sensitive to the issue of child abuse because he was physically abused as a child. He has never said he was sexually abused. I would imagine that the so called eye witness to the abuse claimed to have occurred in an airplane has conclusively identified the airplane to authorities by now.

Agreed, I believe in his recent CBS interview he stated something like he had 4 surgeries as a kid as a result.

Gotta be honest, the fact that at his academic level of achievement and involvement with TSM albeit indirectly or directly, it is really insensitive to compare the two at a minimum, imo.

Are we sure the plane was on the ground at PSU at the time? So the allegation would be really that Sandusky and a booster were showing 2 young boys the plane?

  40. beejay says:

Blink: I can’t find anything saying that the plane was at PSU. All I’ve found is that it was in Pennsylvania somewhere.

And that the eye-witness was interviewed outside of the state of Pennsylvania, although that may say nothing about where he resides. He just talked outside the state.

  41. erose says:

Graham flies to Harrisburg while some poor schlep makes the drives to pick him up at the airport. That seems oddly inefficient for a school which claims to be run very efficiently.

If Graham had jumped in the a car when it was leaving university park he would have made it to Harrisburg on time to testify. He would have saved the cost of the flight and he could have used his time in the car to catch-up on paper work or phone calls. Why wouldn’t he want to do that?

    http://thorsteinveblen.blogspot.com/2008/02/you-can-sleep-in-if-you-have-private.html

be interesting to know if a flight plan was filed and he was the pilot. I find it odd for him not to mention that if that is the case.

  42. mike says:

Blink, I vaguely recall somebody posting on another site that the plane was on the ground. I’m assuming that given a relatively small plane, jet or turbo prop, that no one would be nuts enough to try to abuse a child/person when the crew was present (much less two abusers as is alleged). Kids love planes and pilots love to show them off, so I can imagine that it was a big deal for the kids to get them into the plane, especially if it was a neat looking jet or owned by psu.

BTW, I’d like to recommend an interesting site to you and your readers that not surprisingly has a lot of information, discussion, and downright speculation about the crime issues now surrounding psu.

It is scout.com. It is a sports site primarly for college recruiting, but it has a lot of other sports related info about most division I schools. You can select your favorite school, and read or chat about sports or more. I live in PA so I have been generally following the psu issues and occasionally looking at the psu board (there are several different boards). If you don’t know your stuff about psu now you are completely out of the loop in PA.

The particular psu board I look at most is “audibles”. It is free though you have to at least register to post comments. If you want the premium access you have to pay. You can scroll through many days of threads. It should be mostly football but now there’s alot of these other issues.

here’s the link, I hope it works or maybe somebody can fix it up. I seem to be a failure at that.

  43. erose says:

The Daily Collegian has an article titled “Activist Propose Salary Cut” by Aubrey Whelan dated 11-11-08. (I can’t get it to link.)

In the article it states Spaniers 611+K salary and his free house, car and plane.

  44. beejay says:

The eyewitness to the sexual assault on the plane is said to have/have had a complicated financial relationship to the unidentified assailant. I believe it was Radar who said they had “documents” that proved that relationship between witness and assailant. Just what kind of a relationship would that be?

Looking at the Charlie Brown (a I and a II) airplane documents, I can see some relationships that MIGHT be not as readily visible as say, the partners of a company. Or a typical employment contract in a public business, ex.

In the Charlie Brown II documents linked below, there are the names of 3 “Members” of the LLC that owns the plane. (An LLC has “Member(s)” as its owners). Each of those 3 Members must designate a Manager for the daily operations. To me, those Managers are people who might be aboard the LLC’s plane. And it’s a relationship that one might need documents as proof of–you’d need the documents showing the names of both the Member and his designated Manager. (In this case, the LLC Members were one of the Rex Energy Operating Corp, Bruce Heim, and Shaner Hotel Group Limited Partnership.

This is just an example. Other examples to me would be anyone providing personal services of some sort, or consulting services. Or, some joint-venture type business relationships, particularly those with a so-called “silent partner”.

Whoever the witness is, no one thought he’d reveal their crime. Was he subservient? financially dependent? guilty of similar crimes, of facilitating the assailants crimes? Has to be something along those lines, doesn’t it?

bumping my earlier post with link to an Amendment to the operating agreement of Charlie Brown. Notice that Hulburt is now listed as a “Manager”. I didn’t read the document closely enough to see if it changes the number of Managers or if it says which of the 3 LLC Members designated Hulburt as his Manager. There are probably other documents we need to see to clarify all this.

Spanier’s claim he was victim of child abuse.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/video/graham-spanier-victim-child-abuse-17062540

Note the body language. His head shakes “no” several times when he is saying he didn’t know, saying no that he was copied on emails and discounting their actual existence by saying the emails were only one of 30,000 or more, and even when he forces it to keep nodding “yes” his body betrays him and moves to the “no” position again.

    What a fake.
