Jodi Arias Trial: New Witnesses May Reveal Defense Strategy- Prosecution Omissions

*BLINK DISCUSSES THE JODI ARIAS TRIAL TONIGHT LIVE AT 9PM ON THE DANA PRETZER SHOW

PODCAST ADDED CLICK HERE*

Phoenix, AZ-  In a terse exchange prior to the hiatus in the Arias trial, the defense repeated their contention that they want The Honorable Sherry Stephens to order a directed verdict or a mistrial in the State’s case against Jodi Arias.

Arias self color

As reported exclusively by BOC it does seem the prosecution missed quite a bit of potential evidence including a possible motive- the duct tape around Travis’s right arm.  Was it the final straw that made Jodi Arias snap as she was allegedly taking photos of Travis in the shower without his knowledge?

There was also an exparte hearing held in Judge Stephen’s chambers, however, the contents of those minutes have not yet been filed- although the docket suggests they have.  The defense is now testing Jodi Arias’s canon camera for some undisclosed reason.

With the defense preparing to start its case next week in spite of the outstanding motions before the court- have the prosecution’s actions harmed their case?

The issue at the forefront seems to hinge on something that the prosecution never introduced- On Purpose, says Prosecutor Juan Martinez.

The prosecution’s very first witness, Maria Hall, who was the female friend attending the Cancun trip with Alexander  on June 10th,  told the court that Travis told her he had been stalked while on a date with another girl and had his tires slashed.   The intimation before the court was clear regardless of the defense attempts to point out that Travis never said it was Jodi who was responsible.

Nancy Grace and Jane Velez Mitchell lit up their HLN evening roster discussing Arias’s stalker behavior with several associates of Alexander.  Dr. Karl  Hiatt said one Sunday he was told that he had his tires slashed and that it was possible that something might escalate and he may not show up for dinner as a result.

Andrews Daidone

Outside the presence of the jury Juan Martinez argued that they did not call the witness who Travis was on that particular date with because he did not want to create “an inflammatory” situation for the jury causing an appellate issue.

However,  Martinez also lets it slip that Lisa Andrews Daidone does not want to testify and the defense tells the judge the prosecution has withheld her contact information from them and THEY intend to call her.  Daidone recently deleted her FB profile and other social media sites in her name.

Does it make any sense to anyone why a prosecutor would not call a witness who could place a dangerous weapon in the hands of a person committing a destructive and openly violent act who they allege is guilty of doing exactly that for exactly the same reasons in the instant case?

From Daidone’s bog entry in 2008:

”…So because Heavenly Father allowed this to happen, I have grown in such a way that I couldn’t have otherwise, or at least not as quickly. While if you asked me a few months from now if I could go back would I change it, I would say “Absolutely,” I’m not sure how much I would actually change about it. Of course I wouldn’t want Travis to be taken. I might even opt for Jodi to be popped instead. But who am I to decide the fate of the hundreds of people that have been effected by this? It’s hard

to say which way is better. Travis always talked about Opportunity Cost. He spoke of how his time could be used best, to benefit the maximum amount of people. I’m sure he wishes he could have done more while he was here, but I don’t think he regrets leaving. He is doing something amazing up in the Spirit World. I know it. I can feel it. He is continuing to learn and progress. He’s helping others to do the same. He is the same wonderful, creative, spontaneous, caring, gentle, driven, foe- paint-loving, show-tune-singing man that I fell in love with…”

Is it because in the 48 Hours Mystery program so frequently noted by the defense Detective Flores openly states there was no evidence whatsoever that Jodi was involved in that incident  after he repeats his theory that Travis was shot first?  Both these statements made by the lead detective in the case on national television  directly conflict with the prosecution’s case as testified by Esteban Flores.

NO.

Is it because they already know who was responsible for the multiple tire slashing incidents and presenting that information might corroborate a story told to them by Arias in the past?

In her own words, Lisa Andrews Daidone began dating Travis Alexander in July 2007.  According to the minutes filed from trial January 16th,  the tire slashing incident was in December 2007, both Alexander and Andrew’s tires were slashed and the individual came to the front door .  Martinez states Andrews will testify to these facts.   Prior to dating Alexander,  Daidone was dating a common friend and member of their Mormon ward- Steve Bell.  Arias claims she and Travis began dating  February 2,  2007.

Daidone will not go into how she and Travis began dating, or why, but there is a  Steve Bell connected to this group that has had some serious troubles with the law immediately preceding the break up, and many following.

Could the mystery stalker have been on her end and NOT Arias?  If so, you can bet the defense will be bringing that issue into court next week and providing the jury with this eye opening gem- expected to cause further problems with the State’s theory.

That’s not all, unfortunately.

Thomas Brown

Thomas Brown, a former roommate of Travis Alexander in the home of his murder, was interviewed up to three times by Detective Flores whereby he told them that Jodi had open access to the home when he was around and the Arias he knew was completely shy and somewhat awkwardly withdrawn.  He was having a hard time picturing her do this without help and he told cops that.

He also told them something about Travis being shocked to get the call that Jodi Arias was standing outside the home the early morning hours of June 4, 2008 and that he had been up all night performing some sort of protection rite.   Brown’s information was not included in any information given to the defense and he was not even aware his name came up in the investigation by Jodi Arias herself.  I would expect that issue to surface promptly as well.

Gus Searcy,  $100K ring earner for Prepaid Legal Services and now Legal Shield was noticed to be available this week for interview.  Travis was scheduled to be on the conference call with Searcy at 6:45PM the evening of his murder.

Artful  Dodging

While the trial is in hiatus, one are of Jodi Arias’s life is quite active and well, pecuniary.

Arias, through her family, has taken to EBay to sell her personally rendered offerings the macabre set is snatching up for a few hundred clams a piece during the trial.

It is believed to be managed by Arias’s mother Sandy,  who uploaded images to Arias’s MySpace after her incarceration to include one of Gary Alexander- Travis’s older brother.

Gary Alexander

The defense portion of the Jodi Arias trial for the murder of Travis Alexander led by Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Willmott will begin its case January 29th.

I’ve got a couple of observations of this, especially seeing the pictures as they are presented in order. (Thank you to whomever did that!! )

My first instinct before was, TA was totally using JA and of course, she allowed it, it was probably mutually agreed upon. BUT…she didn’t know how to handle a ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement. She probably thought all along that she could ‘change his mind’…make him fall for her, etc.
Remember what I said earlier? (sorry y’all…) TA wasn’t going to marry the w***e in bed. “Religious folks have dirty secrets too”…remember the preachers wife who was forced to dress like a sl*t??
Lust and love are different things, but JA couldn’t deal with that separation.

I think he felt bad about sleeping with her this last time, and I do believe he was praying and having a conversation with God in the shower.
I don’t know for sure if he thought JA had left the house, maybe she was ‘sleeping’ and he thought he had some alone time.

My feeling is that she snapped the photos of him and when he realized she was there (that one photo, to me, shows surprise) he got very upset.
Before I saw the photos in the order shown, I thought maybe he DID have her take photos of him, but I have changed my mind.

I think the one photo of him sitting and looking into the lens and then theres a long pause between photos, she may have been saying “See what you made me do??…etc..”

No doubt, she’s an evil bit*h.
I am still just not understanding the whole roommate thing. HOW do they not know? That house isn’t really THAT big.
And, could JA have had someone waiting that would be there to help ‘in case’ she needed it?

I’m still struggling with the idea of her doing all of that totally alone.

  2. Sue, I think it is a valid question. Some photography, possibly some art, waitress, and had recently begun ppl sales but she had definitely recently had money issues.

I believe the tape was symbolic of a religious commitment involving a pseudo return to chastity and renewed vows within Travis’s faith.

My first and lasting impression of the shower photos, that the timed ordering only deepened, was that TA was crying in the shower. The postures, red eyes, running nose–it all says crying in the shower to me.

    3. Where’s the evidence from the crime lab investigation/ME’s report to substantiate someone in addition to Jodi could have killed Travis?

  6. N.Cahela says:

First of all, IMO she did it and did it on her own. It was a matter of control, she couldnt have Travis the way she wanted him and she knew that after all the time and effort she had put in, NOTHING she did was going to change that. She had tried being the perfect girlfriend/wife material, to being the perfect friend/travel companion, to the perfect freak in the sheets and she still wasn’t getting what she wanted.

If Travis had of wanted Jodi the way she wanted him, it would only have only been a matter of time before she moved on to something or somebody else. It’s all a game to her. In a sick way she liked the rejection. She liked the thrill of winning, of proving to herself and to others that she could make the person fall for her so she would be in control. When she finally realized she had emptied all of her bag of tricks and Travis still wouldn’t drink the koolaid, she lost it!

Even if you were a mentally stable person, it would hurt terribly to be continually rejected by someone you think your in love with no matter what you do. Especially when your open yourself up to the emotional side of being that intimate with another person. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame Travis, she did this to herself. Most normal people would’nt continue to give someone the opportunity to reject them over and over, to say oh your good enough for this but not good enough for that. As hard as it is for us to do, we have to get inside of Jodi’s head, to think like she thinks, to try to walk in her shoes in order to understand how this could have happened. To understand how this seemingly quite, shy, little petite girl could possibly commit such a heinous crime on her own.

I am so thankful for what little evidence we do have, because I feel the prosecution has messed this up royally. I know it will but I pray that it’s doesn’t come out that she possibly wasn’t the one slit the tires. This women doesn’t deserve to see the light of day. I feel so deeply for Travis’s family and the families of all victims. I’m sorry but we are living amongst some evil, evil people. Thank you Lord, that we have the Victory!

lizzy, I almost cried myself when I read your post. It DOES look like he was crying. What the heck went on in that house that day.

  8. Joan T. says:

Maybe the detective never questioned SB because no one mentioned him at the time. The only one that would have brought him up would have been Lisa, and she thought Jodi slashed the tires.

Despite that, it’s clear that Jodi killed him, or took part in it. I still think there will be a guilty verdict in the end.

Blink, even though the judge didn’t allow the dismissal, you still seem worried. Despite all the loose ends that may not be tied up perfectly neat, the jury will still see that she did it, and there’s just no way it could be self defense, any way you look at it. Are you worried still?

  9. Jden says:

Watching the slideshow again, I agree. Travis was crying, repenting, praying and was caught off-guard by a psycho. I’m trying to figure the sitting down… did he see her holding a weapon and sink down? Did she order him to? Had he been stabbed by then? In the haunting photo, does it look like his neck is red?

  10. Survivor says:

    Blink,

If she takes the stand, does she still have the right to plead the 5th if questions are asked that she does not want to answer?

I can’t really see her attorneys putting her on the stand if there is a chance of conviction or purgering herself.

  11. N.Cahela
Good post, but I am pretty close to guaranteeing Jodi was not the tire slasher.

The defense called the exes and I promise you they would not have done that unless they could exculpate her as the stalker and impeach the prosecution.

  12. Joan T.
    Yes. I definitely am.

  13. N.Cahela says:

Thxs and I agree she is probably not the tire slasher, I just worry about how this info will effect the jury.

    1. Who besides Jodi had motive to kill or help with killing Travis?

I dont know but until I read about Sbell and Lisa I had no reason to believe any one other than Jodi wrote that whoredom letter…. and you forgot one question -who besides Jodi would have a motive to help Jodi clean up the scene?

Well heres where is gets sticky for me-
Nathan said that Jodi was liked by the roommates that they were enamored with her-

We know Jodi could spin a tale and that most people bought the tale
what if she called one of the many people in her life she was good at fooling and they dropped everything in those 5 days to come and help clean-up what if one of the room mates came home and found Jodi and Travis in the midst of a full blown fight to the death- or found Jodi crying telling a tale of self defense could he be prompted to help her with the clean-up?
What if another jealous boyfriend or husband went to hurt Travis while Jodi was there?

Its not that I believe any of this occurred its whether or not the defense will be able to spin it for the jury…

    2. How does another person helping Jody to kill Travis fit with Jodi’s self defense theory?

IDK but there is a way to spin that too- she kept quiet because she had too because she was scared because the argument with Travis began as self defense but quickly turned into somethingelse…what if a helpful passer-by heard screaming and came to aid and ended up killing Travis? There lots of ways to spin it.

    3. Where’s the evidence from the crime lab investigation/ME’s report to substantiate someone in addition to Jodi could have killed Travis?

Theres more than one weapon used- – The pics dont show Jodi killing him or harming him and the scene was cleaned although not entirely they left one palm print and one hair..not so very much not disposed of right?

The prosecution made it seem like Jodi was the stalker who slit the tires and wrote that letter- it seems that MAY not be true…
there was testimony that Jodi had Travis’ email and passwords although this was not followed up on at trial..

I am starting to worry that there is a chance that the email can be traced back to Travis’ computer I hope not –

but the point is the prosecution left all these unasked/ unanswered questions and insinuated a great many things and then they rested their case.

What happens if the truth of even one of these questions or insinuations turns out to be something entirely different?

    What will the jury think?

My prayers for Travis’ family and friends

    peace

Jodi’s art leaves me with a creepy feeling. Technically correct, but not a one shows any character in the face. The one directly above this discussion is supposed to be one of Travis’ brothers? Looks more like a cross between Clutch Cargo and Eddie Haskell (blast from the past to the miserably animated cartoon and Leave it to Beaver LOL). Not a gleam or glare in any eye and the facial features are not accentuated by the character lines that all human faces display. Perhaps she can only see blank, expressionless faces because she is lacking an identity (i.e. narcissitic)? We can’t see what is not within us.

I’d also like to know where she’s getting her “colored pencils”. I have a set of oil pencils that I guard like a lioness because they were so expensive. She could not have done these on cardboard with run-of-the-mill colored pencils, could she? Does the state/county fund art supplies too?

I recalled what my pastor said to me just before the ‘dunk’….and then a vivid picture of my arms crossed as I was being baptized, came to me.

Travis may have been reliving his baptism, releasing the guilt and shame, as the water poured over his body. He may have wanted to recreated that ‘release’ of bondage to sin and the secular world while reaffirming his desire to walk with the Lord and rebuke the enemy. It could have also be an intense, heart felt form or repentance and reconciliation.

Regardless, I truly believe he was in some form of meditation and prayer.

    Ragdoll,

Hi, friendy! Do you remember me? I was so happy to see you, MOM3.0, a Texas Grandfather and all the other great minds still here at BLINK’S home. I was moved to read your description above of the picture of Travis Aexander in the shower with his arms crossed. My thought about it was rather simplistic: I thought it captured the moment when you first turn on the shower and you sort of “brace yourself” for that first shot of cold water before it warms up. I know that I kind of “block” myself from it if i don’t run the shower first to warm it up before i get in. Anyway, if you don’t mind, I’m going to keep the thought of the baptismal in my head and heart for that photo.

    Sue,

Funny you mention that….during the opening statements by the defense, they make the statement that Jodi Arias was at one time….wait for it…..an EVENT PLANNER !!

Ok, first of all, I hate to draw paralells to (I can’t even say the name), but really ?!?! An Event Planner!?!?!

I realize the similarities between these 2 are beyond eeeeerie: *Neither had a High School Diploma.
*Both deaths occurred in June of 2008.
*Vacations somehow occurr revolving around the deaths (one unable to go Puerto Rico, the other unable to go to Cancun)
    * Both appear to have multiple “love” interests
    * Both claim to have been “Event Planners” (can’t say if Arias really was or not (highly doubt it), but we know the other was not)

I could go on and on, but I won’t.

  22. Jden says:

Oh my gosh, Blink! I just read your account of the duct tape again and now I see what I previously missed. The duct tape was crumpled on the tile floor! and the tape marks were fresh in the shower photos may indicate that while Travis was showering, repenting, praying and even possibly crying out… he exercised the duct tape ritual… unknowingly that JA had snuck back in and was taking pictures of him. If he was asking for forgiveness, who knows what he may have cried out? It seems he was vocal, loved to sing. I sing and I love to sing in the shower, I also pray aloud when I’m at home alone or in my vehicle including crying out to The Lord for very specific help. That could certainly have been the catalyst. Keeping in mind the gun used which is the same model stolen from the home in which she lived, we can surmise premeditation but unfortunately without the weapon, not prove. If she came to see him with thoughts of ultimatum, possibly he relented to being with her thinking she would go away and he would be off to Cancun for a week… and deal with breaking things off when he returned.
The photo slideshow makes sense now. The praying, cleansing, the first surprised look and then the haunting last alive pic. I’m just puzzled as to how or why he went to a most vilnerable seated position in that very small shower space where even a fit person may be a little off balance getting back up.

(hope this old fool didn’t make an unforgivable error).

Some great ideas and conversations going on! You all have me double checking shower doors, camera bags and trail videos.

In re-watching some of the trial I caught something that went right over my head before ( not that that is uncommon).
LE testified Jodi was in Kingsman at 11:54 calling Travis. I never thought about that in regards to how much time she had to do what she pleased after killing him to almost midnight!
Kingsman is 3-3 3/4 hrs from Travis’ house according to google map est. That means she could have been at that house until 8:30 / 9 pm. Which gave her 3 hrs in that house for clean up after the 5:30 drag photo.

I’m agree Mom3.0 and don’t see anything that equals help.
especially seeing these 3 hrs now. I do think their computer techie guy is going to kick the prosecution butt though. I didn’t think the states techie was very impressive.

My thoughts on the tires. LE hasn’t breathed a word to prove Jodi did it so I try to keep my mind. It just dawned on me tonight, thanks to everyone here with such good discussion … Didn’t Blink say SB has an extensive record? If he does, my first question would be was he a free man in December when the tires were slashed and email sent? Did LE check that? Or did it end up in the ignored file with the tassel fibers?

Autopsy, Flores report, prosecution innuendos with no follow up. Many questions. Why do I feel something is still off the marks on what I thought would be an easy prosecution?

  27. BlackPearl says:

Reasons why I think Travis was NOT aware that Jodi was photographing him in the shower:

1.) The slideshow using real time sequencing/time-lapse of the photos taken of Travis in the shower, states that after the photo taken at 5:25:00 (maybe the 6th 7th photo in the series) followed one of the longest pauses between photos– with 1 minute and 56 seconds until the next pic. I think Jodi paused so long between these photos because she was afraid to move and had to be sure that Travis hadn’t seen her take his photo as this is the only photo where he is turned facing the camera (except, of course the two at the end where Travis shows surprise and then God-knows-what/fear/sadness)

2.) The photos weren’t “show off” photos because the lighting is terrible. They are/would be unusable and wouldn’t be shown to anyone in that quality. This is especially weird since Jodi was a “photographer”.

3.) IMO it is simply weird to take photos in the shower to show off your new trim figure and muscles because… (a.) The shower clearly connotes nakedness and may make viewers–especially Mormons– feel squirrely/uncomfortable… especially once one realizes that T. clearly wasn’t the photographer (someone else was taking photos and saw him naked); and (b.)They lived in Arizona and it was summer time– why not photograph a fit guy outside exercising, playing with the dog, or goofing around with his shirt off? The quality of the the photos would have been better, they’d have been more socially acceptable amongst their friends, and would have accomplished the same purpose.

4.) I have always felt that the naked photos of Travis on the bed were not taken with Travis’s consent. They are taken from such a weird angle that they aren’t sexy and don’t even show that much of his body (especially when compared to the photos of Jodi naked). In one photo it looks like he is completely unaware he is being photographed– eyes are closed. In the second, it looks like he is surprised– arm thrown up, mouth open, perhaps talking. His facial expression reminds me of the photo of him in the shower when he first realizes he’s being photographed. It’s also possible, given the weird angle, that Jodi told him that she hadn’t taken his photo, that she was photographing herself and that he was simply mistaken. Anyone else get this feeling, too?

  28. BlackPearl says:

Not to undermine Blink’s theory about the duct tape, but more to parallel it: I can’t help but think that even if Travis wasn’t re-committing to celibacy/abstinence, the duct tape could have been symbolic of quitting Jodi (as opposed to sex, or sex with Jodi). It would be like ripping off a band-aid… make it quick, complete and final…

No questions for 5 days as to where Travis was…no contact…Dog left without notice he would be gone. Did someone mention that Travis had left his ring and a watch in the kitchen? If so didn’t someone notice it? No eating, cooking or cleaning going on in the kitchen. Could no one hear his cell phone ringing in the den ever? Blink are the roommates on the defense’s witness list. I fear that they are going to hang the prosecution if more answers about the roommate are not presented to the jury. The roommates leave room for lots of reasonable doubt without answers.

I also had thought yesterday about some type of reflection being picked up on in the photos taken in the bathroom either in the glass doors or even in Travis’ eyes. I guess I should chalk that up to the CSI effect. Surly if that could be done it would have been, oh well.

This week on JV’s show they showed several of JA’s cell mates touting her innocence. This is just another scary picture of what kind of woman JA is.

Blink your show with Dana this week was one of the best you have done. Congratulations and well done again.

    Thank you kindly Ode.

    Blink, you said:
Did we note that Judge Stephens never really addressed the prosecutorial misconduct allegation head-on?

Didn’t the judge say it just wasn’t extreme enough? Isn’t that over and done with now, unless it comes up on appeal?

Yes as it relates to grounds for a mistrial or directed verdict overall, but imo, not enough as a finding to conclude it did not occur. Still want to know about the separate exparte minutes.

    BlackPearl,

I agree! In the photos of Travis on the bed, he looks like he isn’t aware his photos are being taken there either. And yes, the photos in the shower are all dark, except for the surprised one when he’s looking directly at the camera. Maybe she turned on the light, and he saw her.

I trespassed over to the Facebook page, someone has JA’s receipts from those few days.
very odd amounts of gas. Just odd.
It is said she purchased a 5 gallon can for (of) fuel?? was it kerosene in a can? was it an empty gas can for emergency? Here, kerosene is sold at the pump, by the gallon. So I’m confused.
Are people saying kerosene meaning charcoal starter fluid? I only see that in 2 or 2.5 gal cans.

She spent $10+ at a Starbucks, we get 2 venti mochas each morning and its $10.65. if I go alone and get a venti mocha and a pastry, its $8+/-
so was she alone at Starbucks?? or no??

Why the strange gas purchases? Two vehicles??

Did one go into a large container or containers so she would not have to stop and be recorded on the return?

    Blackpearl and Joan,
I agree about the photos. Travis looked drugged or asleep in the two photos in his bed. He also looked surprised. I don’t know how many seconds there were between those two shots as it looks quickly sequential.

As for the nude photos of herself, JA could have used a tripod or the timer to take those photos–making it look like he had ‘lovingly’ taken them.

I have faith that the jury is going to take this conviction seriously.

Yes, we are still here trying daily to make sense of these crimes when Blink posts and article. Glad to see you back.

I wonder if Jodi picked up the event planner title from C-word. If she didn’t, this puts all event planner females on notice that they better not let the guys know they do that for a living. That is two out of two.

This young woman was not a high school graduate. She needed to make herself a little more important to keep TA’s attention. Who really knows what she did for a living when she worked. Tall tails are common from a sociopath. They usually have a little bit of truth woven into the fiction.

The laundry question about none being done during the five days following the murder is not strange to me. Some guys are taught to do laundry by a caring mom who knows they will need that skill. Others do not have that training and laundry is left wherever it is dropped. Some guys are so lazy about that chore that they will put it in the washing machine and forget to put in the detergent and start the machine. We have rental property and I have gone to the utility room to check the equipment and found both washers and driers with clothing still in them. Guys renting the property. Sloppy, sloppy guys with no regard for keeping things clean and neat.

These roommates appear to be less than careful about the care of the house and themselves. I don’t believe they were home at the time of the murder and didn’t return for some time. The odor of a decomposing body is unmistakeable and would get most anyone’s attention. If I were an investigator, this goup of guys would have gotten a lot of attention from me.

Your observations about the paintings are the same as mine. There is nothing in the paintings to give them character. Reminded me of the old movie art work for advertising 60 and 70 years ago. I you saw the Greta Show where they interviewed the girls in the pod, they were so imbued with JA that they could have pooled some money and bought the expensive oil pencils.

  45. Jden says:

If Travis was washed off, in the shower stall with the euro door closed, bathroom door closed and bedroom door closed… would there be a strong odor throughout the home from the decomp after five days, or not until you actually entered his bedroom?
Poor young, handsome, loved boy. So sad.

Yes -definitely would have been. It escapes me how they did not notice it, but from what I can tell they spent little time in the home- and the home has a 2 zone AC/HVAC system.

That said, it certainly is odd for me. There is nothing like that odor- even at it’s slightest.

Flores reported all interviews with the roommates in this report:

    http://grahamwinch.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/floresinvestigationreport.pdf

He interviewed them a few times. He asked them about the laundry.

The odd thing is that both of them claim to have seen Travis for the last time after Wednesday, June 4th, 5:30 P.M. It’s just odd that both of them were mistaken about the last day they spoke with Travis, but I think it was an honest mistake.

  47. Joan T. says:

    ChristY,

I wonder the same thing about the gas! Odd!

Blink, these were the gas purchases:

    Arco – Pasadena, CA, 6/3, 8:42 PM, Mastercard 2015, 8 gallons $35.06

    Arco, Pasadena, CA, 6/3, 8:46 PM, 9.59 gallons, $40

Arco, Pasadena, CA 6/3; 2.77 gallons

So even if she had a completely empty tank, I looked up 2007 Ford Focus gas tank size, and it is 14 gallons. If she was driving a 2008 Focus, the gas tank would be much smaller. Altogether she bought 20.36 gallons and between her car and the container she bought she only had a capacity for 19 gallons at most, unless she had another container that she brought from home.

I wondered if she filled up two cars too.

  48. Joan T. says:

I agree that Jodi’s drawings don’t have character. There isn’t anything about them that makes you want to keep looking. What did surprise me about them is that they don’t seem dark or angry. I don’t think J.A. was always this way.

I read in the e-bay listings that she did them years ago (2000-2004?), and her mother is using the money from their sale to be with Jodi during the trial. Her mother either left her job, or is on leave, because of the trial. Her father has stage 4 cancer.

  49. Eloise says:

    Hi all,

I was going to throw my 2cents in on the roomies and such. I don’t feel too concerned over the lack of laundry in that 5 day period either, and I think one of them thought they had done it earlier in the week. Most young men I know in that age group are once a weeker’s at best as well. They also eat out all the time and work and go out as often as possible. I do though take exception on the odor that must have been unbelievable, AC or not. That will be a larger issue to debate imo. I have read, whether true or not, that the girlfriend of one of the guys had been feeding Napoleon the dog, maybe no one was letting him go out after, and they were blaming all the odor on the accidents, IDK.

Then we have “Travis did or did not know about the photo-shoot”. I’ll start by saying, I don’t think he knew she was coming to visit to start with. I even contemplated that he didn’t open the door to her until we saw Thomas Brown’s post that she arrived late in the night, so someone knew she was there I guess. But, I had felt Martinez was trying to express with the camera Detective that the flash was off for the majority of the shower pics and that would have to be a manual setting, thus emphasizing JA would have done so willingly. Maybe she slipped her arm underneath the robe to take some shots? Or hid her body behind it? But I agree, I think that shot with his mouth open is where he saw her and he was pissed. I also believe he looks very weird in the bed, notably there was no duct tape around her body. And I too thought she could have taken her own pics. Hard to say, but neither one appeared to be enjoying themselves with their interlude. Looking forward to this week and I hope it goes well for the Alexander family, I haven’t given up hope-Yet.
