Malty, neither you nor anyone else needs to justify your advocacy at anytime for any person, for any reason.
In my efforts to balance conversation and input- and honestly, to self-assess my own perspective on occasion, sometimes I err in the amount of latitude I allow. Pretty rare, but I do apologize for the disruption to all.

Good lord.
in all my years of reading here and learning, I have never read comments from a person that seems so terribly angry.
I in no way mean to be ugly, but you scare me more than jodi arias and that seems impossible
You m’lady, are a sight for sore eyes. I hope you saw my last response to you- appreciate you Myers.

Just watched “Safe Haven”. Julianne Hough’s character endured the hellish nightmare that beset Travis. Stalking, rage and murderous intent. I believe Travis did see signs and was frightened of JA. If he let her in that day, it was unwillingly or in an attempt to placate her.
But this was a movie, Hough broke free and lived happily thereafter. Sometimes it’s difficult to believe people could be so cruel but thankfully, these jurors were willing to “see” June 4 through Travis’ eyes.
Whodunnit @ 436pm. To expound, and especially in lieu of hindsight and the comments Travis’ friends have made regarding JA, I honor the fact that you are listening to and stating your intuitive clues. Something at which we all need to be finely tuned not just for ourselves but those around us. Be attentive. When something doesn’t seem right, stop and question it. Your attention could save a life. This blog is excellent exercise for that thought process. Thank you, Blink, for your diligence. God bless you all in your safe havens this Mother’s day.

Oh mrs blink I can’t stay away. I know you feel this case could have been handled from a different perspective and coming from that last fiasco everyone was on pins and needles. But I posted it. She would
Be found guilty of 1st degree murder. It was an awesome afternoon. My kids got off the bus and walked in our Louisiana home at the perfect time to here the verdict. I was jumping and partying with them. You could have had 10 and 12 year old kids on that jury and they would have understood exactly where to shove her fog.
This is what this murderer’s problem really was from my thoughts :
She wanted to not only be with Travis but she wanted to be Travis. She wanted the respect he received from others. She wanted to be looked up to as she was She wanted to be successful as he was. But, she knew on the surface she woul never be like him. She had burned so many bridges and she burn bridges just in te short amount of
Time in Mesa. She really is messed up. And then Travis has enough. He isn’t going to yreka to visit her, only in her dreams. And exactly what was he going to show him
In yreka. A family that she left when 15. Did he think that Travis going to yreka was goin to make her history go away . And that is where she lost it and was able to drive and commit a horrible act on a person she could never have or be like.

“The Gift of Fear” by Gavin Debecker is such an important book.
Cannot recommend this book enough … for people of all ages – and especially helpful for parents to use as a guide as to what & how to speak to their children about tuning into their “internal radar”.
Such an important read.
@ATG, Love the gesture of the rose. What do you want for Father’s Day?
Good Fred is gone. I formyself, am afraid by people like Fred….
JA purchased a Roget’s Thesaurus from the commissary. Quick, what’s another word for cruel?
This girl still believes she can outsmart, outwit, outcharm.
Um, Troy, if it’s the electric chair I’ll meet you in front of the two-way glass. A deal is a deal. But, um, if it’s LWOP we have plenty of time so I’ll wait until Sephora restocks the commissary.
Psych experts, does her complex DX offer a protective mechanism of delirium to avoid the pains of reality?
“The Gift of Fear” is one of my sisters grad presents I got her. My sister and her friends are going to europe for a month and plan on traveling to several countries while over there and let’s just say after seeing them in action after senior day for her sport a few weeks ago I have my concerns about her judgement. Hopefully she will read it on the flight over. She always tells me I’m a buzzkill, I take it as a compliment She will understand one day, hopefully sooner rather than later. The brutal murder of Yeardley Love shook their Lacrosse community to the core, even though my sister plays for a different D-1 school, it still affected everyone, yet I have seen no changes in some of the behaviors her and I talked about after that terrible death..very frustrating as an older sister. I hope she actually reads the book and shares it with her friends.

I know. I cannot even stand to look at Leila’s picture. I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. That is one of the reasons I did not cover it. I am fresh from a juvenile statement analysis class and although he never spoke personally, the story sounded like it was made up. Long gray hair but latino?
I may consider writing on it through that perview as it develops Slow, but allow me to say this.
Normal 12 year old boys do not butcher their 8 year old sisters. Something was wrong, and something was going on in that home and I sincerely hope the proper investigation is underway to find out what went on.
B
Fred, are you mad?
You know, JA’s phone message to Troy in regards to the interview gave me chills. It showed her true ability to disassociate herself from her current situation. It was frightening. The “buh bye”, the flighty, breathy, casual way she discussed it. It’s bothersome on so many levels. It just stuck out to me, how casual she could sound about something like murder. Her words are so incongruent with the situation, it amazes me that people get sucked into someone like that. Her words are “pretty”, so I guess people will just ignore the content and the incongruence with her situation.
I knew from my first meeting with my stepdaughter that I had to keep my eyes on her. Her dad and I had been dating for about six months and we had lunch with her, it had gone pleasant enough, but as we were leaving she yelled back at us “love you guys!” Not, “Love you dad!” But “love you guys!” It immediately set off red flags. It’s that kind of stuff you have to watch out for. The pretty words that don’t match. That’s what JA is good at. Making people feel good, so they ignore the man behind the curtain.
Hervness is really talking about her satellite going off at a time that she picked up on it. She may not know or remember if that went off then, or if subsequently other situations occurred that kept bringing her mind back there to “decifer”.
Either way, pay attention to her post. Sometimes ‘They like me, they really like me’ is playing on a loop in people’s heads. Everything they do or say is the means to get back to it.

I couldn’t agree more. I thought it strange “he” let the boy live. This is a neighboring county and very rural/foothill at the base of the sierras. A friend of mine from my county’s dive team participated in searching some nearby ponds. My point is I’m afraid we find ourselves yet again with agencies ill equipt to handle a complex crime of this magnitude. I know early on they involved the FBI, but that is when there was a supposed subject at large. Anyhow glad you have an eye on it.

This. A thousand times this. She’ll throw the proverbial spaghetti against the wall to see what resonates with whomever she’s talking too. When you react or respond to something, that’s what she sticks with. Whatever gets these people back to their loop. They are regurgitators and need constant reassurance and ego stroking. The only time I’ve been able to throw her off her game is to directly tell her that I don’t need that. They assume that everyone needs the same things they need, so when you show them you don’t, it’s a game changer for them. I see A LOT of Jodi in her and vice versa. The smirk she gave when Nurmi said “9 days out of 10, I don’t like her either.” While he was probably being honest, she saw it as him trying to manipulate the jury. I can guess that what was going through her head was “smart, he’s making them think he doesn’t *really* like me, I know the truth.” They can’t seem to conceive that other people can be honest and not play games.
I just don’t know the genesis of it. I can’t pin down where this started with my stepdaughter. What turns a “normal” person into this? That’s my thing, the where and when this develops.
I’ve known some manipulators in my life, but this is constant and so deeply ingrained in their personalities, it becomes WHAT they are, as opposed to just a piece of them.
hervness- you are not going to get there on your own, even if you were in the appropriate field- the first step would be knowing her proper Dx, and the psychiatric community does not necessarily agree in what is nature v nurture or permutations thereof. I realize that may not be a helpful answer, but you have done the hardest part for most- identifying the issue and thus protecting yourself and your family from associated outcomes of dealing with a person like that.

I suspected him too.
My kids grew up in the sixties. There was zero to little exposure to violence regarding TV programming back then. I would not allow my son to have a toy gun. Things have sure changed. Now, far too many children have access to the internet, violent electronic games and violent television programming unless parents have put restrictions as to what their kids watch. 12 years old…incomprehensible.

@Blink. I hope you analyse the Fowler murder as facts develop more (so there are some).
To be honest based on post-arrest statements (and her pre-arrest statements) I hold Dad
& girlfriend in contempt, and my fondest wish is a Court appoint a guardian of the person
for IK immediately & before further questioning or evals are permitted. Any prior “custody”
findings should be set aside.
I think we really need the facts and they are going to be hard to come by for a juvenile system case as you know. One thing I can say with certainty is that I pray that the LEA’s that handled this child’s interrogations and that of the family member’s with that in mind did so by the book- and had experience doing so.

Your post caught my attention. You didn’t identify if your sister was a high school or college graduate or how many are in her group. I will assume college with the reference to Yeardley.
Yeardley Love was because of a total lack of responsibility with the La Cross coaches at UVA. It should never have happened.
Few of these young people have lived in a world that does not include school. Europe is not the same as the USA. It is a dangerous out there. I hope she reads the book and comes to understand to never be alone during her trip. An international cell phone is a good thing to have. The transmission method in Europe is different so a phone that works in the USA will not work there.
If you have a way to contact her, pester the daylights out of her by contacting her on a daily basis. Big sisters have to be persistent. If she complains, tell her it is because you love her and want her to be safe.
apologies. contempt is too strong without facts. I’ll just say father has made questionable statements & actions (ie, allowing son to be “interviewed” by LE for 2 weeks apparently without an attorney present; ie appearing more concerned for his family image “we are honest” than his son’s situation), and his girlfriend I feel has made public statements about bio mother any 8-18 yo in her care would experience as psychologically abusive to themselves imo.
Well, the other day, I stated that I didn’t really care one way or the other if Jodi Arias gets the death penalty or LWOP. After seeing the entire interview she gave, post conviction, I hope she gets the death penalty. Anything less would be a slap in the face to the justice system.
So, she has photographic proof that Travis was a pedophile, she has a picture of him chasng a naked 4-year old boy? So she has eyewitnesses and photographic proof of her bruises that Travis inflicted on her? But her lawyers wouldn’t bring them into the trial. Whatever, Jodi, whatever. That little witch is still lying and trashing Travis.
She deserves lockdown 23 hours a day. 365 days a year, from now until her miserable existance is extinguished. LWOP will be a cakewalk for her – she already thinks she is the belle of Cellblock C. She needs to be truly punished for her actions and Death Row is the perfect place for her to live out the rest of her pathetic life.

Pammy, I saw part of that interview last night and thought the same thing. Who in the world keeps blaming the victim after she has just been convicted of capital murder? It doesn’t look good for JA.

Both of you have recognized the real Jodi. People like her do not relate to reality. They only relate to what they think in the moment. This is a form of mental development that we do not have the tools at this time to classify and understand.
It IMO does not matter what the sentence entails for Jodi. She will try to spin it in such a way as it was not caused by her acts. Even if they give her the death penalty, she will remain on death row for a number of years while she tries to make appeal after appeal to the courts.
At some point, the mental problems will become physical problems that could take her to her death. The important thing is that she never be allowed to be in society again.
I have been scrambling to catch up on all the comments in the last few days, and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention this remark Jodi made in that bizzaro post-conviction interview. I had just stepped out of the shower over the weekend and heard her utter this particular word when HLN was reshowing the interview. I rushed to rewind it but our power flipped off at that moment! So I’ve been searching for a transcript and finally found what I was looking for! She feels the general public is getting their jollies by not liking her and “PERSECUTING” her!! Forget the fact that she lied about the murder, trashed his name, and overkilled this young man, with almost 30 stab wounds, a shot to his head/face, and practically cutting his head off, oh no, the general public is persecuting her?! What a piece of work…Aggravation phase can’t come soon enough.
ABSOLUTELY! Gavin DeBecker is male, and the ultimate goal is to hone your satellites and listen to your intuition without fail- males and females alike.
B
Excerpted from link below: HAYDEN: Do you have a sense of where the public feeling is about you, whether you’re liked or not liked? I mean…
ARIAS: I get the sense that there is great division on both sides, but I believe the majority is against me.
HAYDEN: What are your thoughts on that?
ARIAS: A psychologist once explained to me that society has this need to persecute people. They get some sort of gratification from it. So there might be something going on there.

My take on the shenanigans of the interview after her 1st degree murder verdict, and then the 72 hr. stint in a strip cell, under suicide watch at the psyche ward, is that there aren’t too many more manipulations that she can legally try to pull at this point. She won’t do the suicide threat again, because she’ll be in a strip cell again, and she doesn’t want that. Any type of threat at this point can be counter-acted with a strip cell for her own safety. She is running out of options. Jail does not provide many freedoms as is, and she doesn’t want to lose any of the few freedoms she has in that setting. She will ultimately have to submit to the course. She may be on some new medication to help with her anxiety. This will get her through til she goes to her next home in maximum security prison. She won’t threaten anything there. They will not coddle her. But in that setting, she will have less freedoms than she has even now in jail, and she will feel repressed right away and be on her best behavior.
Legally, she can still surprise us. In fact as I write this now, there is a sealed meeting going on inside the judge’s chambers with JA and two of Travis’ siblings. We’ll have to stay tuned for further investigation! Wonder if they are objecting to the videotaping or agreeing?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post, I always enjoy reading your thoughts, you bring so much to progress the conversations on this site. To answer your question, She’s graduating from college. I am only 5 years removed from my undergrad days at Penn State which were wild enough but I don’t remember my group of friends having the same lack of basic common sense which is what concerns me. And to think, she is an “ivy-leaguer” haha.
Well, I decided to catch up on this site after a few days away digesting the verdict-and cause some trouble @FredROFLMAO I’m not in the habit of wasting a lot of my precious remaining time on murderers but to me this seemed like such a crime of extreme passion-I don’t know.If I was on that jury, I would probably have been too scared to vote for anything other than what the consensus trance demanded either. When defense witnesses and attorneys get death threats and jurors have to relocate if they don’t give the mob their desired verdict(Casey Anthony case)- something’s wrong-not to mention all the copy-cat killings of babies that probably took place while HLN was obsessed with the Casey Anthony case for years. Anyway that channel is,in my opinion, almost single-handedly undermining our judicial system I just got a letter for federal jury duty(last time I got called it was for a case involving the Russian mafia in Brooklyn-luckily I didn’t get picked)-I hope they don’t pick me this time either but if called I will have to serve. Anyway, I agree with Jodi that people need someone to persecute. Of course I feel sorriest for the victim Travis and his family but I feel sorry for Jodi, too, because she was a victim of her own emotions.(I almost was too when I was in my 20′s) And I feel extremely sorry for her mother especially with all the media calling for her daughter’s life- like we’re all watching some game or something. I gradually grew out of my BPD diagnosis with the help of a friend who advised me to”Don’t think bad thoughts” and “Don’t be a victim of your emotions” and “Stay away from psychiatrists-they’re all crazy”
jeni- you know I have to throw a disclaimer in here What may work for some may not work for others and I do not believe all psychiatrists are crazy nor do I think it healthy for people to think that of any group of people except real estate agents.

I have DeBecker’s “Gift of Fear” as a result of an earlier post on this blog. Highly recommend!
I grew up near Washington DC, mom taught us girls the gift of fear at an early age. Have always listened, and it has truly saved my life more than once, I know that for a fact. Oh, the affirmations I could share with you!
My intuition is finely honed and I can read people quickly. Please do not mistake this gift for skepticism or judgment, of which it is neither.
I was only once fooled and it was a woman who is a masterful, manipulative con like JA. I had no clue whatsoever, for the longest time. Thankfully, she had nothing out for me but in the end I did see and hear how she affected others.
I taught my foreign exchange student about the gift of fear last year. She had no predisposed inclination and no thoughts of protecting herself. Hopefully, this new knowledge will keep her safe in years to come.
One more thing. In order to assess an individual or situation for danger, you have to be in the present moment. You must be presently aware. Life is complex, and many people’s minds are either resting in the past or in the future. When my son was in a war zone, I reminded him with each letter to stay in the present moment because that is the only place that would keep him safe. In the present moment you are alert, focused and attentive. The Marines say, complacency kills.
So, if I may, Blink, concurrent (or should I say contemporaneously) with your recommendation of “The Gift of Fear”, I also recommend “The Precious Present” by Spencer Johnson.
@ATG

The State vs Jodi Arias ~ Travis Alexander murder trial
Moments ago, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office received an order from the Superior Court of Arizona and Honorable Judge Sherry Stephens that from today, prohibits Sheriff’s Office officials from approaching defendant Jodi Arias for the purposes of media interview requests.
We will not attempt to contact Arias for purposes of media interviews until that order is lifted by the court.
Once the court lifts the order, and if inmate Arias agrees to do interviews, all interested media parties will be notified immediately by Sheriff’s PIO via email. Interviews will be conducted thereafter in the order already received.

I feel sorry for Real Estate Agents. Most of their clients are nutz. People are truly never crazier than when buying or selling a home (with all that packing and unpacking to attend to). Not to mention signing a note that could potentially take no less than 30 years to pay back.
But then again, I feel sorry for Dentists too. No one likes them or ever wants to see them! Heh.
All kidding aside, part of me wants to feel sorry for Jodi, as once upon a time she was but a wee little innocent child; however, when I start to feel that for her, I only have to remind myself that she has zero capacity to feel sorry for anyone other than herself. She is truly a danger to society and needs to be treated as such or even more victims she will make.
Feeling bad for her is futile. It won’t change what/who she is.I think it does speak for the caring person who feels for her, though. If only we could all be kind, forgiving, and loving. What a beautiful world this would be. Alas.
Ahem… I should take offense at the sweeping generalization, however my integrity, professionalism and work ethic supercede any insecurity that might ensue from same.
Bite your tongue, Blink!

Unfortunately, the type of school one attends has little to do with the ability to function in the everyday world. What one does regarding behavior and education is the result of choices and how they are implemented.
The old saying “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink” applies to human behavior too. Exposure to education does not automatically make one educated. I used to tell my young newbe engineers that they came equipped with a new tool bag of knowledge and a clip-on bag of ego and importance, and with work they would learn how to use the tools and loose the clip-on.
is it possible that today’s hearing had to do with Jodi wanting to offer to accept LWOP in exchange for losing her right to ever appeal the verdict? I’m just wondering this because I think that’s what happened with Kermit Gosnell here in philly
When JA goes to Lumley, she’ll have a few extra priveleges and features for her cell, such as a radio or TV, but that’s not much solace. Hopefully she’s getting the “we. know.” message, even if it doesn’t affect her.
