Haleigh Cummings, the beaming kindergartner from Satsuma, Florida has been missing since early morning February 10, 2009. On Saturday’s edition of Geraldo At Large, he sucker punched Haleighs father, Ronald Cummings:
RIVERA: They told — they told me that you hit Haleigh. Is that true?
CUMMINGS: No. Never, ever have I ever hit my child. Me and my child have an agreement. Daddy, daughter. She has been spanked on her behind the way DCF says that you can take care of disciplining your children.
RIVERA: You never backhanded her to the face?
CUMMINGS: [OVERLAP] Never. Never have I ever backhanded my child in the face, ever.
RIVERA: Did you hit Crystal when she was pregnant?
CUMMINGS: No. I did not. Never.
RIVERA: You didn’t hit her in the back of the head and kick her?
CUMMINGS: No. No. I never have.
RIVERA: You swear to God you never hit your pregnant woman?
CUMMINGS: [OVERLAP] Never. Never, never have I ever hit any woman, period. Never. And I’d like to know where all these allegations are coming from because I would like to talk — talk to law enforcement and have these false allegations, um, known that, um, the false allegations against me, somebody needs criminal charges pressed against them.
There’s more. Cummings goes on to tell Geraldo that he thinks he should call the “Law” immediately there to get those false accusations investigated and cleared and that Geraldo is jeopardizing custody of his son (paraphrase). Geraldo then apologizes and backs off. Not feeling contrite enough to exclude the BOMBSHELL feature footage on his show, apparently.
Clint Van Zandt, Former Behavioral Profiler, FBI enters Fray
Clint Van Zandt, former profiler for the FBI, appeared on the Today Show Saturday Morning.
Van Zandt said the Investigation in this phase takes 2 tracks. Track one is taking investigators outside of the house and looking into whether a stranger took Haleigh. Track two is keeping authorities inside the house.
“One family member said a fight had taken place between Ron, the biological father, and Joe, the cousin, where Ron says, ‘No, that didn’t take place,’” Van Zandt said. “Evidently a gun disappeared from the house and it was found in a ditch later.”
Van Zandt said, typically, investigators try to rule out immediate family as suspects first before branching outside of the home. But he said, in this case, it appears that authorities are looking at both at the same time.

Anyone else feeling DejaVue? Findhaleigh.com, UNAFFILIATED with any member of Haleigh’s family, began by requesting donations directly on their behalf, by an 11 year old girl whose name blinkoncrime is withholding for security reasons. The site is registered to a woman by the name of Kim Savage in Arizona. The site was reported to be fraudulent as the family was unaware of it’s existence and certainly not set up to solicit or accept donations from it. In the meantime, there is an alleged minor, whose name is now posted on the web, in a possible donations scam involving a 5 year old girl who may have been the victim of a sexual predator. Once the site was reported, the address and ownership information was changed to reflect a Pine Victorian Bed and Breakfast in Herndon, VA. The paypal and some specific donation requests have since been removed, but the guestbook contains objections by the family and highly obscene messages; most certainly not for review by a child.

Geraldo made him swear to God. What’s next? The inpenetrable pinkie promise? Geraldo is following missing/murdered childrens cases around, aligning himself with one side or the other, occasionally the bad guys. Whatever happened to reporting the news and digging for facts? This is a senstional tabloid stunt. Walter Kronkite may have reported it but would have damn sure had more than just the ex-wife, embroiled in a heated custody battle, as a source. Responsible journalists would have reported things that can be documented. Ron and Crystal both have a checkered past with youthful indiscretions plus a twenty percent tip. This does not mean that either was involved in the disappearance of this baby.
Geraldo obviously heard from some “source” that Ron is an informant for some agency investigating illegal drug activity. If he truly is an informant then Geraldo just put everyone within a mile in danger. This is akin to drawing a map of troop positions in the sand. What was he thinking? He was probably thinking that it did not put Geraldo in danger and that he could squeeze some cool ratings from it. While many words come to mind, responsible or journalism are not included.
I wonder if Ron will be represented by a big name attorney soon in his lawsuit against Fox and Geraldo? I would wager a few dollars that he has been approached. This appears to be malice at it’s finest.
He also had Tweedle Baez on to give legal opinions. I guess that is OK as long as Mr. Baez is not employed now and needs a gig. It is not as if he should be fighting for a client’s life right now or anything.
Blink, I like your site. Edit what you need to and I will try not to be PO’ed for my next diatribe. I just look at all this and make what my daughter calls “The stinkface”. I reckon it just aint right.

It’s been two weeks since this poor child went missing. We are just now finding out the little brother, sleeping next to Haleigh, saw a man “dressed all in black” take his sister. Is this true? Where was Misty? Did the little brother tell anyone this scenario before this past week-end?

I am with you on that, I find that suspect. Not necessarily coerced, but a child his age is certainly capable of having images based on fear/news/etc. I would have thought that LE would have interviewed him with the help of a professional, first. I would not be surprised to learn that it matches a description of someone the family has on it’s radar as it is.

I’ve watched Rivera for alot of years off and on. He’s always liked the attention, and not a very likeable guy, but I agree, he’s stooped to a new low. Maybe he needs another beating, anybody got a chair?
Ronald Cummings has a scary face. He looks mean, and his language and articulation leaves alot to be desired. Try as I might, I just cant picture this guy in a very friendly light. mean mean mean, thats what I see. He seems to know alot about the allowances and restrictions of discipline per DCF, wonder how that is.

Haleigh’s whole family is a little different… stuck in the ’80′s maybe, I don’t know. But, the strangest of them all, in my opinion, is the girlfriend. There’s something not quite right about her. She seems like the kind of person you might invite over for coffee which turns into a sleep over and the next thing you know, she’s moving in. Look for the abductor to be either her, a friend or someone related to her. Where do people like her go? No where, but they’re always transit; you know what I mean? That’s never good.

NG, the blogs and most media have trashed Crystal and her family and Ron has one run in those taking him out of his comfort zone and everyone goes ballistic. I’m not saying Geraldo was right, but it’s about time to stand up and be a man instead of hiding behind a relative’s apron,even if she does work for LE. Takes way more than a tattoo to be a good dad. He, and only he, left her in a questionable/dangerous situation and she is gone. He fought for custody and won. Can someone tell me how he can blame anyone else for not protecting her?
