Christine Sheddy Case Murder In Maryland:Chapter 5

Do Not GO Gentle Into That Good Night

Crpure

Christine Marie Sheddy arrived at the Farmhouse the evening of November 2nd. She was murdered there during a party on November 12, 2007. The following is a chronicle of what happened in between.

November 2

After days of myspace messages reflecting a serious breakup between Levi and Christine and the ensuing argument with her Mom, Christine packs up and  makes arrangements for Q and the boys to meet Jr. and Tia. Q met them in the parking lot of the Milford, DE WalMart. It is believed they drove that far to meet her there because Christine had no idea how to give Q directions, approximately a 1.5 hour drive.

November 4

Levi torsoLevi is still looking for Christine. Christine tells Q she is rounding up tin at Jr and Tia request to sell for cash.

By all accounts, Tia and Christine are chums.

They were headed out shortly to sell it to a buyer.

 November 5

Christine and JR have an argument, he tells her she needs to pull her weight if she is going to stay there.  He later describes the argumentment.

November 6

Christine calls Lynn for the boys social security numbers as JR has told her if she wants to stay, she needs to apply for Government asisstance immediately and contribute to the household.

(important note: Christine specifically does not call Levi on this, although he most certainly has a record of the boys social security numbers from the year before where he claimed the kids on his tax returns, who did not live with him, prepared by his mom, Joyce. who got a $4,000 cut while Levi smoked the other $2500. I saw the email where Christine learns of this as she was under the impression that money was for a starter house fund.

November 8

Q is speaking to Christine daily, she is chopping wood outside today for a fire.

November 9

The Farmhouse occupants are burning wood in the wood stove. Steve Steve MaggMagg shows up. A Flue fire results in a hole burned in the roof, the fire department is called and they put it out, into the early am. A Volunteer Firefighter named Serge later tells detectives during a search on the farm that he remembered Christine the night of that fire. She was crying because there had been puppies and dogs there she was afraid for.

November 10

Jennandhubby Christine calls her sister Jennifer, explains her misery in the farmhouse, and arrangements are made for her and the boys stay with her and her then fiancee’, Paul.

Jr. calls the father of one of Tia’s children and asks if he can keep the child another day due to the chimney fire, and the required clean up.

A direct witness, speaking on the condition of anonymity to blinkoncrime.com arrives at the Farmhouse upon hearing of the fire early evening. He has met Christine previously on the farm.  He approaches the house and noticed Christine had peeked out the window to see who it was.

As he was approaching the door to knock, he notices Christine locks both doors. He tells her who is, reminds her they met, and tells her he wanted to take a look at the damage. She opens the door, leaving the screen locked and they chat for a second before she lets him in to see the damage.

ChrisandkidscarChristine was home alone with her boys Isaac and Zeke, who were sitting on the couch. She was cleaning up the fire mess on her own, and hanging plastic from the walls. Jr and Tia had gone out to a party or club. When I asked him to describe Christine’s demeanor, he told me “She was scared.”   I said, do you mean perhaps she did not recognize you? He replied, “no I got the sense that she was scared of something.”

November 11

Jennjohnson

Another party at the Farmhouse, day before Veterans day. At about 6 PM there were already 15–20 people there. There was a trough filled with ice and beer set up in the outbuilding, and a fire raging in the burn pit.

JR was filling bottles and cans with gas, ripped pieces of cloth and lighting them and throwing them in the fire making explosions for his amusement while there were kids running around.  (pictued above Jennifer Waters Johnson)

November 12

Possibly, Christine spoke to her sister this day. Q speaks to Christine JRJustin after 9PM. He is concerned and asks Christine if he should come get her. She said Levi is coming. She did not say when, or for what reason.

They say goodnight and Christine bathed the boys and put them to bed.

Q was due to call her back that evening, he did not reach Christine.  Q heard the equivalent of “cat calls” during their conversation. Very, very loud.

Christine is murdered.

Blink, how did Christine make those calls with no phone?

Nov. 11, I think you mean day before veteran’s day?

  3. lily says:

Thanks for the timeline Blink. Christine’s intuition was clearly telling her something was wrong. What was it about her that obviously rubbed this gang of thugs the wrong way – to the point where they objectified her and instead of feeling protective it was just the opposite? Was Tia jealous and feeding fuel to the fire with Jr.? She was there for 10 days and they must have thought at the beginning that Christine would be add some value such as housekeeping and babysitting?

And her anticipation of Levi showing up – did they have an argument and he made it known to the others that he no longer cared what happened to her so she lost what little protection Levi could have provided in the form of boundaries for Christine? Add drugs & alcohol that night, a bunch of girl-jealousy and no boundaries for the guys in the group – it was a bad situation. Gosh I think of how many trusting young women find themselves at the mercy of others because they have kids and too few good choices available. What can I say. Let’s all be aware of the women in our circle of influence that just need a nudge and/or a hand.

  4. boo says:

Christine does not trust the person who came to the door on 11/10. Is the photo above justin hadel? Did anyone attempt to use christine’s info to file for gov’t assistence after she disappeared?

  5. christinesmom says:

    I’m speechless.

  6. boo says:

Again, I have to note that the night steve magg shows up, christine suddenly wants to leave, there is a fire, all hell breaks loose, I get the feeling someone was harmed on 11/9. Also I get a creepy feeling at the thought that JR wants one of Tia’s kids to stay another day, especially since it is christine cleaning up after the fire, alone? WTH?

I cant shake that the 9th/10th are pivotal days. The witness was clear with me about Christine being “scared”. In speaking with Christine’s Mom, Christine never used to lock their door. As demonstrated, she was very trusting. What was going on?

  7. mjh says:

So, JR wanted Christine there to be his slave, and then he could collect more money from HER government assistance. Joyce makes me sick. So, she took $4000 of the tax return, Levi “blew” the rest, and NOTHING went to Levi’s own children? Nice.

THANK GOD those children are with Christine’s mom now.

Looks like JR was treating Christine like crap from the beginning. I do feel like Justin was involved in this for sure. Not sure about this Steve Magg character.

There’s more to that story if you really want to hurl. That return had $2500 flagged to Levi for back child support. Joyce got the $4K “off the top” direct deposited into her account. Because at the time, Levi and Christine were “on again”, under the auspice that they would use it as a home starter fund, Christine signs the release for the cash, Levi smokes it. Not a freakin dime to her kids, or her. Mother Hall sits on $4k.
Here’s the kicker- the kids and Christine were living with the Dodenhoff’s at the time, they were supporting them. So approproiately, they claimed the kids on their return and now have the fat tax bill to show for it.

Yes, that’s what I said. That woman and her spawn – can you imagine the composure it takes one??

  9. wymzie says:

    So am I.
But, how do we know she bathed the boys to put them to bed?
Also, this anonomyous person… Was he there to investigate the fire?
    Insurance?
If the property was insured the homeowners insurance would have sent someone out immediately to cover the walls.
    Wheels are churning now.

She was in the process of doing that when she was speaking with Q. Zeke is also an avid milk drinker and still got a bottle before bed as well.

Witness was not there in any “official” capacity, no.

    Yes, Wymzie, they are, thankfully.
    B

  10. FairWitness says:

Do you mean to tell me that Grandma Joyce extorted $4000 in tax dollars from the mouths of her own grandbabies? That their own father smoked the other $2500? My, my, my… what a family.

Was the argument with Lynn so bad that Christine couldn’t reach out to her and say, “Hey Mom, I’m sorry about this, but I am in deep trouble here. Please come and get us.” You know tough love was definitely in order because of the poor choices Christine had made and kept making, but surely Christine’s family would have rescued her and the boys had they known she was in danger.

There are some really bad people in this world. Society is breeding these cretins because nobody is held to account early on when they start committing crimes. Slaps on the wrists, token fines, probation, suspended sentences, home confinement… What needs to happen is serious punishment from the get-go.

Yes, and that is not the only son she did this too.
    B

  11. christinesmom says:

Okay, I have found my voice. This is to all the so called women at the party. Any mother worth her wieght in gold would #1 protect their children, #2 look out for other women. At least that’s the way I was taught. Women have to look out for each other. I tended bar back in the day and I have personally intervened when I saw some poor drunk girl being taken advantage of. What ever happened to those code of ethics? Why are the women that attended that party not standing up for Christine? Christine was a mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister. What is wrong with you women? I cannot believe that you are so cold as not to keep you mouths shut, because of what? Your so called “men” might get in trouble? Shame on you. A women died!!!!!! It doesnt get any worse than that. What if it was your sister, or worse, one of your children? Would you still keep you mouth’s shut? I dont think so, and if you did, there is a special place in Hell for people like you. God help you all.

  12. mjh says:

OMG, Blink, that just gets me SO angry. Joyce obviously did not give a damn about those little ones AT ALL. ONLY HERSELF. Christine’s mom SHOULD have been able to claim those children, NOT Levi. Isn’t that tax fraud? You would think that something could be done about that. I don’t know.

Also, I was thinking about Christine being afraid that day. It seems that SOMETHING had already happened to her. Almost seems like symptoms of someone who has been raped. Or, maybe those aholes actually threw the dogs/puppies into the fire on purpose? Maybe that’s why she was so upset and wanted to leave?

Lighting gasoline bottles and throwing them into the fire with children around? How crazy is that? I wouldn’t let my children anywhere near this guy. I would want out too.

Why didn’t Levi show up, and WHY didn’t he seem to care when she went missing? WHY would they (Joyce and Levi) file for custody of the children the very next day? There is just SO much wrong here.

  13. Gypsy DD says:

So..Christine was at the house from Nov 2nd on through Nov 13?

For some reason I thought she went to the farmhouse on the second with Levi and the boys. Then they came home and she returned on the 9th or 10th.

Was she ever at the farmhouse prior to this?

DD. Yes, in October, Steve Magg drove them there for 4 days.
Thie trip, she arrived the evening of Nov.2, and never left. The boys were picked up Nov. 13th.
    B

  14. Gypsy DD says:

After the fire she appears to be really scared of something..someone. It would seem something about that fire and those days made her feel that way. Not letting a stranger in..hmm..we they cooking meth and they had a small explosion in the fireplace that caused the flue fire…or just to stupid to clean out the creosote in the chimney before using the fireplace?

It was actually a wood burning stove, so I think just that the chimney had not been serviced.
    B

  15. Lucas Cain says:

Well, I’m sure the IRS will be interested in the fraudulent tax preperation and criminal use of W-2′s..eh Joyce? Ya got the paperwork to backup the tax return? THey like to go after people like you – just to teach ‘em a lesson…now where’s that toll-free number ?…oh yeah 1-800-366-4484

  16. Linz says:

Good job once again Blink. This story just breaks my heart. Obviously Christine was very scared of someone/something. You say on November 10th she calls her sister and makes arrangements to stay with her. When was she suppose to leave the farmhouse then?

  17. Gypsy DD says:

Okay Blink..thank you now I am straight on the dates.

Tia and JR must have had something in mind to begin with inorder to make a 3 hour round trip to pick up Christine and bring her back to their place on Nov 2nd. It would appear they thought she would become the housekeeper, support through welfare or any other programs available to her…as well as the entertainment..cat calls ..ugh.

So do we know if Tia has left for TN..at the same time JR was leaving TN (from previous posts brought here by other posters )where are they going?

They are both in TN, JR never came back to MD, that information was incorrect, although he may have started that rumor himself
    B

  18. Charisse says:

So, JR was clearly scrounging for money…

I have the sense of Christine as Cinderella cleaning the ashes while JR and Tia go to the ball.

  19. FairWitness says:

    Good morning Lynn:

These revelations must be like having your daughter disappear all over again. There are those who say the female is the deadlier of the species.

Drugs; crystal meth, cocaine, heroine, even pot; turn the abuser into subhumans. They’re addicted and chasing their drugs like rabid beasts. When they’re high, they’re especially dangerous and devoid of their humanity. The women at that party were not responsible, contributing members of society, they were drugged up animals.

Disgusting! I am so sorry Lynn. There are no words I can think of to comfort you. Everyone at that party belongs in prison!

  20. christinesmom says:

#10 I did reach out to Christine. She was coming home on the 13th. She was moving in with her sister, who was to pick her up from my house and take her to Philly on the 17th. She wanted a fresh start and change people, places, and things. Christine had more job opportunities and family to help her out in Philly.

  21. Charisse says:

Waiting to hear about her fight with JR.

Did she tell her sister what (or who) at the farm was making her miserable?

The cat calls make me feel sick to my stomach.

  22. Gypsy DD says:

Now I am thinking she was killed on the 12th not only out of anger by JR and company..but because she knew something. If they knew she was leaving on the 13th..maybe they felt she couldn’t leave there alive because of what she did know and what happend on the 9th or 10th..as well as the 12th?

  23. Charisse says:

Christine’s mom, I’m with you. If I were any of the women who were at the farm the night Christine died, and noticed things starting to get out of hand, if I had a cell phone, I would have excused myself to go to the bathroom and called the police.

If I didn’t have a cell phone and if things were too violent, I might have been too afraid to say anything that first night, but asap I would be pulling away from anyone who was involved and by now I would be saying something, even if it was an anonymous letter to America’s Most Wanted.

It seems to me like a lot of these people must be having nightmares. Especially, as the heat turns up on this case.

  24. Charisse says:

God speaks to people through dreams and nightmares, so I am going to pray that He turns up the volume of those to this whole crew and everybody else who knows what happened and hasn’t spoken yet.

  25. Charisse says:

That someone was making loud “cat calls” while she was bathing her children and putting them to bed tells me a lot about this crew.

That freak Jr was filling cans with gas and throwing them in a fire, kids running around, wth?
    B

  26. boo says:

It would also appear that my observation of Tia was fairly accurate. She took on the role of “soul sister” with christine. Hey sister, soul sister, soul sister, KITCHY KITCHY YA YA YA Creole Lady Marmalade. Not too picky about the men she chooses, is she? Can we say co-dependant?

  27. FairWitness says:

Thanks for the clarification, Lynn. So Christine ran out of time before she could escape?

I wonder if she witnessed soemthing that put her in such danger. It’s starting to look like what others have wondered about; it’s possible she was raped by someone at that farm and whoever did it silenced her. I asked whether she might have been witness to illegal crimes and was silenced to keep her from reporting it.

    That poor young woman.

  28. Charisse says:

Thinking about the person showing up to look at the fire damage. Seems like info travels fast through this bunch. Communication lines seem to be fairly established.

There were at least 15 to 20 people at the farm on the 11th, guessing a lot more if that many were there by 6 pm, seems like there would be lots of people to interview to see things like:

Whether Christine still looked afraid and traumatized on the 11th.

Whether Tia and Christine were still chummy or whether there was tension between Christine and Tia or Christine and JR.

Whether anyone took special interest in Christine as of then.

How did JR’s parties generally flow? Beer at 6, fire explosions at 7, drugs at 9, sex at 9:30….

JR seems super controlling of the people around him, so I am guessing that his parties might have a flow reflecting that.

  29. Charisse says:

At the parties in my community in my younger years, just from knowing the people, I could tell you who would drink until drunkenness and whether they were funny drunks, depressive drunks, or violent drunks, who is shy and stays inside for more private conversations, who likes to play with the kids, who does practical jokes, which couple makes out, which guys would be looking for tail, which women would give it, who were the leaders / trouble makers and who were the go-alongers, etc.

I am thinking if you could get some of the people from the 11th to basically re-create that party, you would find out a whole lot about the main players in the party on the 12th.

  30. seekingjustice says:

To Lynn – My heart is completely breaking for you. It was hard for me to read, I can’t imagine what it was like for you. Please stay strong, we are all praying for you and for Christine to be brought home.

  31. christinesmom says:

#23 I dont care how drunk you are, if I saw a girl being hit by a man or men, I use that term loosly, You can bet I would be in the middle of it. I would probably get my a$$ beat too, but I will never let a man hit a woman in my presense, EVER. I know alot of women that would do the same. I just cant believe that so many women turned their back on another woman. SHAMEFUL. I cannot convey to everyone how pi$$ed off I am that nobody came to my daughters defense. I am furious!!!

  32. seekingjustice says:

I am shocked that Christine was not receiving any kind of assistance. How did she support herself and 2 small childrens? Levi was useless.

I honestly thought her “check” was the reason Tia and JR were willing to have her come stay.

I am now wondering if Christine did apply for help as JR was trying to insist on, would the state go after Levi?

  33. seekingjustice says:

#28 should say children’s basic needs. Food, diapers, bottles, clothes, shampoo, soap, toothepaste, medicine, etc. How did Christine survive with no money?

  34. suz says:

Blink, how did someone know to come pick up the kids on the 13th? Who called that person, and what was that person told? If they thought Christine left, how did they know in less than 1 day that she was abandoning everything instead of just taking awhile to come back from wherever? Did anyone claim to have seen her leave (by foot?) or hear her talking about leaving or did she allegedly leave a note?

  35. boo says:

Interesting that jennifer waters picture is listed above. She was assauted by justin but would not persue the charges against him. What a pity. Again I am wondering if that guy in the hat above is justin.

  36. Charisse says:

Also, I would be especially curious if there were any other women on the 11th, because if there had been a woman at that party, who was not attached to one of these guy, Christine might have opened up to her about what was going on at the farm.

  37. Charisse says:

The party on the 12th was an outside party with a bon fire, and, yet,
if Christine was bathing the kids to put them to bed… around the time she spoke with Q… that is an inside thing.

I am assuming that the bathroom and bedroom were slightly removed from the kitchen / livingroom.

The fact that Q could hear Justin making cat calls… if the cat calls were as loud as he says, it seems like Justin followed Christine inside and possibly followed her to the bedroom section?

The call was on JR’s phone, so JR might have also been inside at the time…

I dunno. To me, it is either Justin or JR or both that I am looking at in this whole thing.

  38. Gypsy DD says:

Somehow I think we can’t even begin to put ourselves in the places of the other women there, besides Christine. I think the other women there have records of some sort or the other..some violent, probably have spent sometime in jail, were too drugged or stupid to get themselves out of these relationships..much less protect another.

Take a good look at their pics again. These are not women who care about or for themselves, much less anyone else. They aren’t into working much, are into physical violence and drugs. Using people..it’s a way of life to them. We are talking the bottom of the barrel here.

Hope that barrel is getting mighty hot about now…

  39. Charisse says:

The story of her being beaten with a shovel… sounds like an outside thing.

A section of carpet being removed says to me that she at least bled inside.

    Sorry… thinking aloud again.

  40. Red Ranger says:

Jindy and Boy Levi need to take their licks for the tax evasion thing, alot. Finding the truth of Christine is more important to me though. One of LE’s most basic Questions is “Did you commit this crime?”, paraphrased to fit the particular situation. I am curious if the party participants have now all been questioned. I am also curious how many lawyered up for their questioning.
I see a lot of your points about Christine’s fear the day the stranger visited. I also think it could be just common safety practices. Christine did not recognize him and would automatically be concerned for her children’s and own safety.

Joyce said that it was all Christine’s fault that Levi could not hold a job. I am sure that Levi now is holding a job and supporting his boys.

Notice how Boy Levi and Boil Levi are almost phonetically identical?

  41. Gypsy DD says:

Oh and I hope that if the other women there don’t have the cajones to come forward now..that we make sure they lose all rights to their children permanently. Domm so not liking us bringing his kids into it..hell Domm you brought your kids into it just by knowing these freaks and hanging with them.

Can you imagine being a child growing up in that freak-in’ environment? Can you imagine being at a bonfire where that freak is throwing gas cans and Molotov cocktails into the fire…explosions going off..talk about living in a war zone..that had to be a nightmare for any kids in their care.

  42. artgal says:

Who has custody of Christines children now?

  43. seekingjustice says:

    Gypsy DD – I agree. #36

Hey Domo, funny how you don’t want your kids involved, but what about Christine’s? Did anybody are about them?

BTW, where are your kids and who is supporting them? I doubt YOU can adequately support your seven. I am curious to know the last time you saw them and maybe played ball with any of them. Pffffttt! Pathetic!

  44. seekingjustice says:

Artgal – Lynn (Chritine’s mom) had custody of all 3. She just retained custody of Isaac and Zeke in May.

  45. Charisse says:

    artgal, Christine’s mom.

  46. seekingjustice says:

I thinking Justin is a key player in all this. That is why his mother got him out of MD and sent him to Texas. His mother (Susan Shelton) must know something, IMO.

  47. Charisse says:

#40 Red Ranger, I am thinking the same thing. She was alone with her boys in someone else’s house and a stranger comes up.

By then, she was starting to know what kind of person JR was and what kind of friends he might have….

I would have locked the doors, too.

  48. seekingjustice says:

Just a friendly little reminder to our “viewers” *cough Domo, Jr, Tia cough* – You don’t need a body for a conviction! Just thinking out loud.

  49. Charisse says:

I am sooooo hoping that some of the people who have gone to the police saying that she was murdered, hit with a shovel and buried were actually witnesses, because having witnesses would definitely help the case.

  50. artgal says:

thank you all for answering – I was so worried her children were with their father and his mother – those horrible people. This is a terrible case and I have never read anything about it before.
Poor Christine -shes gone Im sure, I just wondered what they could have done with her body – her poor mother.
