You’re awesome Blink! You go, girl!

As Wendy once said, you would be puking and vomiting if your child was missing, not thinkig your life was finally wonderful!!!!

    All I can say is.. :( :( :(

I cannot imagine what happens to a persons mind to make them carry out their lives in this fashion.

Rest in peace, precious Caylee Marie. Never a day goes by when we don’t think about you, and press forward in the hopes that justice will ring out, loud and clear, in your name.

    :( :(

  4. Teri says:

This case just leaves me struck to my core. An innocent life, taken too soon. I see pictures of Caylee – and I am reminded of my own sweet “big brown-eyed” little girl. And, every night, as I tuck her into bed – and go back an hour later to watch her sleeping peacefully, snuggled up with a shirt that smells like me – and her favorite little stuffed animal “pup-pup” – I cannot, for the life of me, imagine how anyone could do harm to a small child. And, feel no remorse for the upspeakable act.

I guess that is one of those conversations I’ll need to have with God someday. Because, in this world…I cannot even begin to make sense of it.

We love you, little Caylee. And, there are people who, now, are acting with soley your best interest at heart. Even if that didn’t happen in your time on earth…it is happening now.

I pray, Caylee, your new found freedom from heart aches of this world makes up for the last few horrifying moments you spent on this earth.

Wow, that is no small tattoo – if I was Casey and where she is right now I would want to be duct taping that billboard she is wearing right now!

  6. Gavriella says:

    My God.

  7. ada says:

She is wearing mascara and eyeliner!!!!!!!! What “disconnect” this family exhibits.

  8. martha says:

good morning!!!!! tgif!!!! well i am at work but always check Blink before i do anything else. the huge amount of circimstancial evidence is out there to convict Casey 50 times over. if anyone is interested there is a very good book called OUTRAGE by Vincent Buglioso about the oj simpson trial. (He prosecuted the Manson clan too–HELTER SKELTER also a great book. Anyway, he talks about how powerful circumstantial evidence can be and that not very many trials have a “smoking gun” to work with. Before i read his book, I had the opinion that a lot of people do that anything circumstantial wasn’t REAL evidence. He changed my mind completely. The tattoo, waiting 31 days, partying, the cell phone pings, all of it puts Casey in prison permanently.

  9. njsleuth says:

“I’m ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille”….She has makeup on for this. This just fits right in with the Casey profile. She does not get it. This is not a photo shoot for a magazine, unless of course its True Crime.

I think we are getting close to an attempt at a plea deal. Don’t think the SA will take it BUT I think Bozo wants it. That is sure going to bring the gravy train to a derailment.

Blink, I think you live in NJ. You are a credit to our state. A BIG THANK YOU for all you do.

How kind, thank you for supporting Caylee.
Agreed that the best chances for plea are between now and the next 4 weeks.

What is that nasty crap all over her back??? boils???

    She looks like crap-o-la!

Don’t know Mari- and this is not to you in particular, because everyone is thinking it. I would ask that as we review the images and docs today, we keep the obvious personal appearance attacks to a minimum and focus on what we learn.
    TIA all-

  11. nickel says:

Just been lurking as of late. Wanted to give proper credit to Blink. You are truly something/someone special:)

  12. PAMELA says:

No being snarky here…..but wow, Casey looks awful. She’s pasty and puffy, there seems to acne all over her back, and her badge stating 105lbs. well, that has to be her weight when she originally was booked. The only reason I’m writing on her looks is that my psych background makes me very aware of the differences in what a person says, or does, and the story that their body and body language tells. The fact that she put on make-up, for what had to be a very demoralizing and humiliating experience, to be stripped and photographed while in chains, says alot about her “attempts” to control people’s perceptions of her, and her vainity. I also believe that regardless of the fiction she lives in her head, her body is responding to the stress of her circumstances and the pollution of her mind in trying to “deal” with what she knows she did. I know many people want to label her as psychotic or having a social disorder, but or than being an extreme narcissist, she knows right from wrong, she knows what she did, and unfortunately for her, her mind won’t allow her to “hide” from herself. There is no ability, for her body, to escape from her deeds, and it is showing itself physically

  13. Gavriella says:

‘Couldn’t care less about the spots on her back, nor the mascara. It’s the chains she’s wearing that impress me. I wonder if she isn’t reminded of what harm she’s done, each and everytime they bind her up, even for something as simple as photographs.

  14. Mari says:

Blink – Yes, I’m sorry…I was just instantly taken aback. Seems jail cell living doesn’t suit her…I’m sure she’s just dying to know we are all seeing this, and that suits me fine. =)

Are we only going to see pictures today or do we get those entymology reports, too?

  15. suz says:

Hey, someone is studying duct tape

UCD Spends $150,000 To Study… Duct Tape?
    Conclusions Could Advance Forensic Science
    Mike Dello Stritto
    DAVIS, Calif. (CBS13) ―

    Handy tool or smoking gun?

It may seem absurd — $150,000 in taxpayer dollars being used to study duct tape — but the work done inside a U.C. Davis laboratory could change the way evidence is used in criminal trials everywhere.

“I agree, it sounds flaky,” laughed Fred Tulleners, the director of the forensic science department at U.C. Davis.

Tulleners believes the grant from the federal government will establish statistics that show each tear of a strip of duct tape is unique, a valuable resource for crime scene investigators.

A graduate student studied 100 pieces of duct tape, pairing them with the corresponding tape torn from it. It’s an elaborate jigsaw puzzle, Tulleners said.

  16. Kleat says:

I thought so! Scrape marks that need some consideration on that shovel– and maybe some residue of something– wear marks/patterns too– maybe on the front some ‘cleaning’ possibly? For an unused shovel, it has a lot of marks. (Question marks!)

  17. SuzeeB says:

My first reaction was my God that is huge, and what in Gods’s name was she thinking. My second was if it wasn’t for Caylee, part of me for a brief moment would feel sorry and embarassed for Casey. (I know I will probably hear about that) These photos probably didn’t need to be released to the world. On the other hand with this new doc release I hope we learn much more today and are able to fill in some of the gaps.

I dont think I have ever thanked you Blink for all that you do. I am doing that now.

  18. PAMELA says:

Ok, so looking at the shovel and duct tape, well…I had to walk away, it is so stressful to see. The duct tape is almost just fibers, held together by the adhesive, its so degraded from the elements I’m not surprised it was micro different from a new roll. Do GA and CA and LA and KC see this!!!!!!!! Do they ever think about that precious baby… in the woods… for lack of a better term “degrading” in the elements, and picked at by animals??????? It sickens me how they are conducting themselves thru all of this…they’ve seen this evidence already, and if they believe KC did it or not, they are so dispicable in THEIR behaviors.
Blink…. Please tell me that the courts have assigned someone to be the GAL for Caylee, since obviously no one in the family is. Can I volunteer my services? OK I’m gonna go find my sons and hug them each till they throw me off (they are in their 20′s and they are still my babies).

  19. ginab says:

I come to your site everyday to read but have never posted. For some reason these pictures have really effected me. I feel so sad for little Caylee. I have a 2 year old daughter who will be turning 3 in December and she is around the same age that Caylee was when this whole horrible story began. I look at her every day and think of Caylee. To think that this is what her little life has come to. She is gone, most definitely at the hands of her mother, then to have grandparents that support her killer. Now we see pictures of her mother in a jail jumpsuit with a horrible tattoo describing her state of mind after her daughter is gone. This is so not the way Caylee’s sweet little life was supposed to turn out. My heart breaks for Caylee.

  20. Teri says:

The duct tape looks to be the exact same kind as the one used to hang the posters.

How, on God’s green earth, does the defense get around that?

I just can’t even begin to see a defense for that. Yes, I kow there was hundreds of thousands of that rool sold.

But – to have the murder victim – and her family possess the same stuff? Really? How they expect any jury to even begin to buy this?

If Casey’s defense goes to the prosecution and offer LWOP – does the state have to take it?

Because, right now, there is a huge part of me that wants this to go to trial. And, have the death penalty still be on the table.

I’m sad and angry – and feel a deep and unrelentless need to see true justice served.

These photos are making it almost impossible for me to go on about my day. I’m beyond devastated for this little girl.

I cannot even begin to imagine how the grandparents can go into cover-up on this. They can’t see all the evidence and not know. How can they live with themselves?

Dear God, please, let them, somehow, see the error of their ways.

Someone with blood ties to that child needs to take a stand for her.

  21. PAMELA says:

  23. ChicagoJudy says:

My first thought was… I hope she’s seen a dermatologist for all those spots. And I’m not even being facetious! And my second thought was… OMG, she put on mascara for this “photo op”. There are no words. For someone who was so physically fit and always cared about looking cute, she’s got to be really upset, knowing that these photos are on the Internet and all over the world. yikes!

  24. Carol says:

The duct tape is very disturbing. Very disturbing. This isn’t going to come out right, because I wish Caylee was alive, however I hope to god she wasn’t alive when that duct tape was placed on her face/mouth. The horror that little girl would of felt. I am in shock, as all of you, that someone could do this to a child. In my heart, I pray that it was an accident. I pray that Caylee had an accident and wasn’t aware of the torture. I pray that she just was sleeping and never woke up.

Rest in Peace Caylee – know that their are so many people in the world who love you.

Long-time lurker here, There’s been a bunch of speculation about this tattoo, so I thought this would be an appropriate place to post.

Lindsay Lohan has the same phrase (same spelling) tattooed on her lower back, and also has a song with the same phrase spelling in the title. The original release date of the song was December 6, 2005. The lyrics are interesting…

    Lindsay Lohan
    Beautiful Life (la Bella Vita)

    God wont talk to me
I gues she’s pretty busy lately
    I like to believe
    She’s listening

    I’m starting to feel
All of my bruises imagined all real
    I’ll get through each day
    Dip through the bad ones
To get to the good ones
    Who’s keeping score anyway

And this is my beautiful life
Anly things sudden is everything changes
    Lows and the highs
    And almost goodbyes
As odd as it get’s like which still is amazing
    To be alive
    It’s a beautiful life

    I talk in my sleep
That the one place i know no one can hear me
    I tell my self things
Walk in the shadows, there’s always tommorow
And I’m right where i want to be

And this is my beautiful life
Only things sudden is everything changes
    Lows and the highs
    And almost goodbyes
As odd as it get’s like which still is amazing
    To be alive
    It’s a beautyful life

Oh it hurts while it happened i wanna feel everything
How can u know till you try
And this is my beautiful life

    My beautiful life
Only things sudden is everything changes
    Lows and the highs
    And almost goodbyes
As odd as it get’s like no which still is amazing
    To be alive
    It’s a beautiful life [4x]

What’s with the pinholes at either end of some of the pieces of tape?

That tape is pretty messed up. Remarkable if fingerprints survived.

http://www.wftv.com/slideshow/news/21249759/detail.html (this one seems to have more duct tape pics than the set with the shovel)

There are, to aid in it’s removal without a solvent I would guess. My guess would be any partials or full latent friction ridges would be coming from where the tape overlapped itself, thus preserving.

  27. ada says:

I want to join the chorus of those thanking you Blink. Having to juggle this with motherhood must take its toll on you. Please take care.

(sorry if this a duplicate post, Blink please reomve)

    the duct tape

    ODG.
Looking at pic 13/18, which is the back, adhesive side of the tape, you can see what looks like rings of oval, donut-shaped depressions and raised impressions.
    ODG
This horrifies beyond belief, as these oval shapes appear IMO to have made from the lips, mouth area, keeping in mind the O-factor upon last breath of life as pointed out by a blogger here some time ago.
    ODG.

And Kleat, you were right. The black logo and text labeling was interwoven in the manufacturing of the front gray poly – - you can see the reverse of the logo and print on the underside.

    Ah, that makes sense.

  31. Granmomma says:

You’d think if the shovel had been cleaned…..with the piece of label on the shovel still intact it probably tells investigators more than the actual shovel. Would be terribly hard to wipe traces of decomp from a paper label. JMO

The rug from the Anthony’s porch lit up under an alternate light source ?!!!

LOL, I just posted that at SM.
    Yes Ma’am.

  33. Norm says:

i couldn’t agree with you more Carol, this is the first time for awhile that i have shed tears again that duct tape SPEAKS SO LOUD!! it’s hard to digest when you see Caylee singing you are my sunshine and playing with her book, and sitting with Great Grandpa…just to have this duct tape wrapped around her mouth and nose her head………UGHHHH!!! There is no way i could be a juror and i feel bad if this goes to trial for the jurors that will have to see this….sick thing to this girl doesn’t care how many lives she has affected and that is no small number!

  34. Steph says:

Post 31~ could be dog pee. We have a cat peeing problem right now in our house and we have a black light we use to go around the house with the lights off to see where she peed so we can thoroughly clean it. It’s not fun but the light does work.

  35. chitown lady says:

my god Blink. Seeing that duct tape and knowing it was wrapped around little Caylee does bring a tear to my eyes. It gave me the chills. My god. How can any mother do that to their child. It brings this all around 10 fold for me. Sweet Jesus! What the child went through. I pray she was already out of it. But, her mouth was taped for a reason. Just how Casey could tape this childs mouth most likely while she may have been looking back at her is alot for person to bare here. Makes me sick to think about it. I hope and pray Casey feels the hounds of hell at her heels for whatever time she has left on earth. I hope they actually show this chick her daughter’s remains. Shove that picture right at her eyes.

Blink, I know your a mom yourself. This most likely effects you perhaps in ways we sittin on our computers will never understand. Please, take a deep breath. hug your kids….take a stiff shot of Jack Daniels and call it a day…God speed sweetie. I do pray for you,

  36. TINK TINK says:

You would definately think that if she had done anything with the shovel, traces would be on that sticker label on the blade of the shovel…even if she cleaned it. – Even if someone used it AFTER her, such as the owners.
And the RUG lit up?! That just goes to show, yes she did plan on temporarily placing Caylee in the backyard somewhere. There is NO WAY she didnt attempe to DIG, or push the please forgive me “body bag” with the shovel. She obviously was not smart enough to consider putting a dead body on a rug / soil would leave traces..so why WOULDNT she use the shovel??? It has me struck as odd that the shovel has no traces of anything strange on it.
& as for #12 PAMELA, Couldnt have said it all BETTER. As far as how Casey looks, her BODY is showing it. She has NEVER looked like that in previous pics!

Keep in mind the rug could be a myriad of reasons for lighting up

  37. R.L .Haley says:

Yo blink..I just wanted to thank you for reminding me of M Scott Peck…wow he could have been describing casey “text book evil” I guess she never got through that cathexis stage,I still think she will never admit to anything..any ways go on with your bad self!

  38. ada says:

    #28 wpgmouse
I tried to post this earlier so if it shows up twice, it may be worth repeating. I looked at duct tape photo 13 of 18. I can clearly see the outline of the mouth and nose. It breaks my heart. I am not a proponent of the death penalty but……

  39. Shelly says:

    It wasn’t the duct tape.
    It wasn’t the shovel.
It was those carefully made up eyes staring at the camera, that chills me straight to the heart.

  40. Teri says:

    #37 ada:

That impression is at the end of the piece of tape. If were sweet Caylee’s little impression – would’t that be more towards the middle of the tape?

I guess it depends on how the tape was applied in the first place.

    :(

  41. dddeerma says:

The duct tape really brings it all home. If this was an accident, even if Casey wanted to hide it, she would have treated her child’s body with loving respect. It is all of a piece: duct tape, dumping the body and letting it lie on top of the ground, no remorse, 31 days of partying, ducking her family, and no help to law enforcement when they were searching for a child. When Baez and buddies say there is no evidence and the case should be dismissed, I wonder what world they are living in.

  42. dddeerma says:

And thanks wpgmouse, for noticing the duct tape impressions. They are clear, but without your post, I would not have known what I was looking at.

  43. FairWitness says:

Guess solitary confinement for months on end has taken a toll on Casey. Such a tragedy. Her child is gone, her life is destroyed, her parents are basket cases, her brother is out to lunch and now her beauty has faded. Doesn’t sound like “Bella Vita” to me.

What I don’t get, Blink; why on Earth would anyone send money to her prison account? Who the heck would want to support such an inhumane wretch?

Furthermore, why would anyone contribute one red cent to any of the Anthonys’ charities or funds, knowing they’re used to defend Casey or to capitalize on Caylee’s murder?

Finally, how could any grandparent, parent or close relative stoop to such lows as to use an innocent baby’s murder to make money — for any reason? It’s beyond evil.

  44. Bees Knees says:

I hope Casey gets the big, fancy needle. I believe that, even though her “old life” has disappeared, as long as she’s alive and behind bars she would still be able to live some semblance of a “new” life. She would be able to take courses, read, have relationships, buy herself treats, answer “fan” mail, maybe even the odd appeal . . . I compare her in some ways to Karla Homolka, who, after making a plea deal with the Crown was sentenced to a medium security prison where she educated herself, had lesbian relationships, wore make-up, had nice clothes, learned to speak French (all of this while in prison!!!) I say, DEATH to CASEY.

  45. ada says:

#39 Teri How can you tell that is at the end of the piece of tape? If it is the ragged edges, I think that’s from “critters”.

  46. wpgmouse says:

re post#28 (the duct tape again)

Taking a closer look at WFTV’s pic 13/18, I am seeing within the center of those impressions, a dark solid shape, similiar to a heart, with a tilt leaning to the left. JMO

  47. Steadychick says:

I really hate to see this, but it appears no prints were found on the three pieces of tape over Caylee’s mouth. See http://www.cfnews13.com/uploadedFiles/Stories/Local/latentprints.pdf This is very disappointing, but wasn’t there more tape that was found with the body? Do we know if this was the same type of tape, and could your source still be correct and this is where the prints were found? I really hope and pray that this is so. And I’m really sorry, Blink, if your source has mislead you. You do such terrific work here. You don’t deserve this.

    Steady-

First of all I heart you for thinking about me in this release, but many other reporters/writers were told the same thing. Bob Kealing got the same story. That does say there are no latents, does not quantify partial which would not the minimum for the 16 pt AFIS match, as is the FBI policy. Unconfirmed sources are just that, and they often are wrong. In my experience, they are more right than wrong. I am dissapointed as the next person to see this, but would like to remind everyone to keep the faith.
    B

  48. FairWitness says:

Blink, have any reports been released that comment about the timing of the placement of the duct tape? I mean do you think it was placed over Caylee’s mouth and nose after she died or before? If it was before, then her mother killed her deliberately by suffocation. Oh God, what a heinous murder method. And by her own mother… unbelievable.

  49. PamTX says:

Item 32 (page 7 of 16 I believe); “given that CAYLEE was wrapped/concealed by other blankets/…..”

Obviously it just wasn’t the Winne-The-Pooh blanket, as the word blanket is plural in this doc. This is the first I have heard of additional blankets found….maybe I missed something early on. I am interested to find out where the “other blankets” were determined to have come from!

The images of the duct tape just set be aback this morning and literally made me ill. The Anthony’s are deceptive, but I believe they know deep down inside of them exactly what happened to their precious grandaughter…if the duct tape images don’t stir their souls, then no hope exists for any of Caylee’s immediate family to care about true justice on her behalf. All of this is like peeling the onion skin away until there is nothing left except a selfish, spoiled mother who couldn’t stand Caylee being the center of attention. It takes an extrememly self-centered individual to be jealous of her own daughter. The writing was on the wall in this family a long time ago and exists to this day….where in the world is their minister?!

  50. R.L .Haley says:

Bees Knees I dont live to far from st. catherines Homolkas home town and believe me im just as discusted that.. that woman is out of jail with a child.. she not welcome round theses parts anymore..but she sneaks visits to her parents home where her and her betrothed (paul) raped and killed her sister..makes me shameful to be Canadain, thats why it was called the “deal with the devil” I think she picked walker her lawyer because she treated his dog through cancer.
