Morgan Harrington Case: State Police Say She Was Hitchhiking

Posted by BOC Staff | Missing Persons,Morgan Harrington | Friday 13 November 2009 2:31 pm

Charlottesville, VA– In the latest release from Corrine Geller, spokesperson for the Virginia State Police, it has been confirmed that the VSP have independent accounts of Morgan Harrington hitchhiking on the Copley Bridge.

Also in the latest release, is a picture of the Swarovski necklace she was wearing.

Swarovski knecklace

Virginia State Police are also asking if anyone loaned their cell phone to Morgan that evening.

“Anyone who might remember seeing a vehicle randomly stopped in the roadway on Copeley Road bridge that night is also asked to contact investigators,” the release said. “Investigators are also hoping to hear from anyone who might have loaned their cell phone to a young woman fitting Miss Harrington’s description to make a call that night.

“We don’t have any evidence she made other calls,” Geller says, “but we’d like to know.”

Also confirmed, as reported exclusively on blinkoncrime.com; The last people to interact with Morgan Harrington were players from the UVA Men’s basketball team.

According to several sources, members of UVA’s men’s basketball team were among the last to see Harrington in the grassy, tree-shrouded parking area. Emails sent to numerous team members were forwarded to UVA spokesperson Carol Wood, who directed the inquiry to State Police, but Geller declines comment on the identity of any witnesses.

“We leave it to them whether they want to speak publicly,” she says.

The Full News Release From VSP:

STATE AND LOCAL POLICE STILL SEEK PUBLIC’S AID IN LOCATING MORGAN HARRINGTON

RICHMOND – As the search and investigative efforts continue for missing college student Morgan Harrington, state and local investigators are now able to release additional details concerning the night of her disappearance. Miss Harrington disappeared Oct. 17, 2009, during a Metallica concert at the John Paul Jones Arena on the University of Virginia (UVA) campus in Charlottesville, Va.

During the course of the investigation, police have been able to establish a timeline of Miss Harrington’s movements once she ended up outside of the arena at approximately 8:30 p.m. After talking to her friends on her cell phone, she then walked through the parking lot of University Hall and was also seen in the Lannigan Field athlete parking lot, which is also used for RV parking. At around 9:30 p.m., she was seen walking on the Copeley Road bridge near Ivy Road.

Based on independent witness accounts, investigators are confident that Miss Harrington was hitchhiking for a ride while on the Copeley Road bridge. If anyone recalls seeing a young woman hitchhiking that night on or near the Copeley Road bridge, then they are asked to please contact police by phone or email. Anyone who might remember seeing a vehicle randomly stopped in the roadway on Copeley Road bridge that night is also asked to contact investigators. Investigators are also hoping to hear from anyone who might have loaned their cell phone to a young woman fitting Miss Harrington’s description to make a call that night.

In addition to Miss Harrington’s black T-shirt with the word “Pantera” spelled out in tan letters, black mini-skirt, black tights, and knee-high black boots, she was wearing a distinctive necklace. It is a Swarovski Crystal necklace made up of large crystal chain links. She is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

The search and investigation are still being actively pursued by Virginia State Police, University of Virginia Police, Charlottesville Police, Albemarle County Police and the FBI. The public has generated close to 400 leads in the case. Anyone can call the Virginia State Police Tip Line at (434) 352-3467 or email State Police at bci-appomattox@vsp.virginia.gov. UVA Police can be reached at (434) 924-7166. Anonymous tips are welcome.

Also accepting tips is the Jefferson Area Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000. A reward of $150,041 is available for information that leads to the location and recovery of Miss Harrington.

If we assume that the various LE agencies are actively searching for Morgan, their style of investigation would force me to believe they have much good information and a POI. If their investigation was still wide open, why would they not be releasing solid information as much as possible and asking for help? If LE are as baffled as we are, then they should be using the media and public to help find this girl. If they are playing CYA for the university’s reputation…shame on them.

  3. SuzeeB says:

Where exactly did she encounter the basketball players? She may have just been walking with them because she was going in the same direction as their cars were parked. Morgan may have been looking for someone that was parked in that RV lot. Not knowing what the players have said regarding their interaction with her (other than implying she was impaired in some way) why else would she go to that location?

If she was impaired (due to drinking, falling, whatever, doesn’t matter) Why would the players just leave her like that unless she told them she was meeting/looking for someone?

  4. Wendy says:

I’ve seen it mentioned once or twice, but I’ll bring it up again. I have a 14yr. old and a 23yr. old. Although I’m only 40, which isn’t THAT old, I too take pictures with my iPhone, just as the younger crowd do. However, when I mention the younger crowd taking pictures, that’s the part that throws me for a loop.

Not only did both my girls find it astonishing there are no pictures, I’ll take it a step further and tell you just how things go with most EVERY girl Morgan’s age and younger.

My youngest is a cheerleader, Friday night her team was in the playoffs. They got to play at the new Dallas Cowboy stadium. She took pictures of herself while getting ready, she took pictures of herself in the driveway beside the car. When we picked her friends up, they took pictures ALL the way to the game, and while at the game, they must have taken 100 more, at least.

My oldest daughter went to a party Saturday night. Just a party at someone’s home, nothing special. She also took pictures of herself getting ready, outside the car, inside the car on the drive to the party, and countless pictures of the party. Not to mention the pictures taken at IHOP after the party, very late at night I might add.

My point is this…..Most everyone between the ages of my 2 girls have a myspace, or some type of social networking page. Unlike when my age group was young, these kids ALL have cameras, and camera phones. I cannot recall one single event that either of them have gone to in the past couple of years that they haven’t taken, at the very least, 5 pictures of themselves and their friends.

Not only do I find it highly unlikely there are no pictures on any phone or camera from that night, (I think LE should delve deep in their phones and cameras)….BUT, I also agree with a poster who left a comment upthread. They were the exact words I spoke to my girls while telling them about Morgan.

There is NOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYYY if her car was in the parking lot that she would have “found a ride.” I can’t imagine that a girl with her own car, and parents that are more than likely highly respected in their fields, (meaning she probably saw her parents be respected, and demanding when it came to something they wanted or needed.) Not sure that came out right. I guess what I’m trying to say is….there is just no way she didn’t throw a fit about the car. Even the most laid back person would DEMAND that the friends bring the keys to the gate, and maybe even ask them to bring a ticket stub. However, even if she didn’t say she would come back later, or the friends should find a ride, she could have told them that since she couldn’t get back in the arena, she would sit in her car and wait for them, considering it was dark, cold, etc. NONE of that makes sense to me. You do NOT need a ride when your own car is in the lot. The only way that would remotely make sense is if she was (a)messed up beyond the point of being able to drive, but then it seems someone would have given her the keys just so she could sit and wait in the car. OR, if indeed she met someone or was going to do something outside of the arena, prior to the concert starting, then finds out she can’t get back in…Instead of saying I’ll find a ride….wouldn’t she more likely have said….I’m down here outside the arena, I can’t get back in, so I’ll just wait for you guys to come out, because I met someone down here and I’ll just hang with them…or at the VERY LEAST, tell the friends that SHE HAD a ride….NOT that she would “FIND” a ride. Those are two very different statements. They need to question and re-question the “friends” until they get the answers they are after.

One more thing…my oldest daughter had a thought. Right out of the mouth of a 23yr. old carefree girl. Without hesitation, when I was telling her the story, she said….”Mom, the weird thing is that Dr. Harrington paid for all the tickets, so the only possible way it makes sense that these “friends” weren’t worried about her, or took her car without a thought of where Morgan was, is because they were NOT such good friends afterall.” Many college age kids don’t have a lot of cash, and if they ask their parents for money, generally that money has to go towards something college related. Maybe these “so called friends” used Morgan for the ride/tickets to the concert. Maybe they should dig into just how close of friends these girls really are/were.

Can I say respectfully that I do not agree w/ Danielle re: UVA Athletics? They wield perhaps the most power on grounds … and based on my 1990s experience with a bunch of them are perhaps most willing to bend ethically. Staff are different by now, of course, but I do believe they need to be speaking with individuals they view as more powerful than themselves (i.e. not local law enforcement).

Blink, perhaps you feel or have info that UVA, and specifically UVA Athletics, are talking freely, but I’m skeptical. Do you have info about the player suspensions? For what it’s worth, UVA’s president retires this spring. Not sure if that is a help or hindrance but IMO UVA needs to be in a pressure cooker right now. Am afraid the Harringtons began all of this with their faith in UVA …

acho- not sure where you got I feel UVA is talking freely- I would say the antithesis of that is true. Which, btw, I think is a mistake if there is no “story”. It would work to their advantage, fwiw

The purse location seems to be somewhat confusing. How credible is the person who found it and where he or she claimed it was found?

  7. TOY says:

I know that what I am imagining does not fit all the supposedly “knowns” in the case but I have not yet read a plausible explanation for the location of the purse. Could it have happened something like this?

She is disoriented from either substance, her fall, or a bit of both. Someone takes advantage of the situation and grabs her purse tearing one of the straps. Morgan tries to give chase and ends up outside the building. Perp discards purse, etc. Morgan stops the basketball players to see if they’ve seen anyone with her purse, etc.

Of course there are still some major gaps such as her phone call to her “friends.” I’ve never been totally convinced of that conversation anyway since college kids generally do not intentionally abandon their cars.

The famous gorilla suit experiment doesn’t work quite the way you guys are describing, but you’re close. (I only know cuz i use this video from time to time.) It isn’t that the participants don’t see the gorilla—it’s that YOU won’t see the gorilla when watching this video if you are instructed to count how many times the people wearing white (or black, doesn’t matter either way) pass the basketball. The people in the video are constantly moving around so you have to really concentrate to try to count correctly, and you get so focused on the task that you miss the extraneous stuff like the gorilla. You can see the video here, but of course it won’t work on you cuz you know the secret. http://viscog.beckman.illinois.edu/flashmovie/15.php and here’s another version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahg6qcgoay4

Recently there was similar experiment to look at the โ€œinattentional blindnessโ€ that results from being engrossed in a cellphone conversation, where they looked at how many passersby noticed a clown on a unicycle–something you wouldn’t ordinarily expect to see on that street. snip:

“Among pedestrians who were listening to music or walking alone, one in three mentioned that they had just seen a clown on a unicycle. Nearly 60 percent of people who were walking with a friend mentioned the clown. But among people who had been talking on the cellphone, only 8 percent spontaneously remembered the clown.

Then the researchers followed up with a second question: โ€œDid you see the unicycling clown?โ€ With prompting, 71 percent of the people walking with a friend remembered the clown. The numbers were also higher for people listening to music (61 percent) and those who were walking alone (51 percent).

But among those who had been talking on a cellphone, the ability to recall seeing the clown still was startlingly low. Only 25 percent of cellphone talkers remembered seeing a clown on a unicycle, according to the report in the journal Applied Cognitive Psychology.”

    more here http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/22/what-clown-on-a-unicycle-studying-cell-phone-distraction/

So, stay off your cellphone when walking or driving or anytime you need to pay attention to what’s going on around you, like when walking across a parking lot at night.

  10. George says:

It would seem that it would be in Morgan’s best interests to get the facts out to the public, however:

    1. Her friends aren’t talking to the public

    2. One of her “friends” doesn’t even want his name released.

    3. The basketball players aren’t talking.

    4. The girl whose room on the Lawn Morgan may have been seeing leaving
early in the morning isn’t talking.

    5. The Administration of UVA seems to have decamped to outer space.

    6. The VSP has made some really questionable comments, like the absence of a cell phone battery in Morgan’s phone is “not material”. and no one with the band organization is suspect.

We are left to try and puzzle out things that are already known for ourselves. Faith in the VSP may be justified, however, I have my doubts.

Pictures of Morgan are posted on the Find Morgan Dana Facebook. This is open to the public, such as this one, it is an open forum.
Morgan is not a runaway.(IMO) As one poster says, the runaway theory “defies logic”, if you have been following the case of Morgan, she had a wonderful life, with loving parents family and friends.
Read between the lines as to why her hair color and style would be altered. No need to post why.

the sad thing is that the players were the last known to talk/speak to morgan ,at the location her purse with broken strap was found,in the athletic parking area, that for all intrinsic purposes is a scene of a crime( i doubt she went off hitchhiking without her lifeline/purse(id,phone),and where would she hitchhike to?her friends surely had her house keys too).so wouldn’t the harringtons treasure to hear what morgan spoke of in her last known 10 minutes(thats more than just hi whats up),and yet they didnt even know?and for investigative purposes ,the players info should be huge she must’ve explained her predictament&what happened in the arena.so like it or not they are part of a criminal investigation, and as such, step up.

  14. lily 2 says:

If the UVA players suspension is NOT related to this case then they have ridiculously bad advisers.

Also, I think that LE would say this is not related as opposed to saying, We leave it up to them to comment….

  15. Jane says:

Could it be that all friends along with anyone else who saw Morgan and stepped forward have been interviewed and asked to not speak to media or anyone else? I just thought maybe that’s why we’re not hearing from anyone.

  16. AtotheK says:

    @ Wendy

My thinking is that the LE had already the pictures and phones of the friends. Especially if they have Morgan’s phone–then pop a battery in and viola–you’ve got pics!
They are not releasing them for some reason.
Just like the necklace…not releasing all the info to the public is crucial in this case.
I too now believe the public and the POI should not know what the truth is. Very tactical move on LE’s part!
It’s becoming apparent that she met up with someone and had plans too. That’s why her friends weren’t worried.
I think i read on the FB page that a young man by the name “tarheel06″ (or something of that nature) spoke with some of the “9″ and got some info.
I believe she is still with the person she met up with and the LE know but cannot let the person know.

  18. acho says:

    Yep, Lily 2, I agree.
Blink, I am new and haven’t read everything here so wasn’t sure if you felt LE was getting adequate info out of UVA but not publicizing all of it.
I don’t trust what UVA Athletics does, and by extension, UVA admin as a whole. Not saying the players are all bad and not even saying I think they committed any crimes. Just that the Athletic Dept itself will hedge and cover as well as it can, and that it feels pretty darn powerful in Charlottesville. I so hope I have them pegged wrong and they are doing right by the Harringtons.

  19. Moonchime says:

I’ve followed this story from the beginning. I grew up in Roanoke and my siblings still live there. It’s not just that though, there is something about Morgan Harrington and her sweet family that just drew me in. I too pray for a good outcome, although it is looking bleaker by the day.

I’ve always been interested in true crime because my now husband and I lived in Roanoke, and were out on a date on the night of October 9, 1971. (It was a rainy, cold Saturday night) A horrific abduction and murder of two teenagers occurred that night. When the perps were caught, and their story poured out of how they selected their victims, Don and I realized how close we had come. I determined then that never in a million years would I go to crime scene number two–even if a guy had a gun in my face and was threatening me to drive to another location. I’d rather die in a public place, than go to an isolated place to be tortured and raped before I was killed. To this day I can’t forget the names of the teenagers–Deborah Hawley and David Doyle. Their bodies were discovered the next morning at the remote location of Hanging Rock. Sorry for going off topic–it’s just that this event truly hit me hard since I was only 15 at that time. Blink, feel free to remove this part of my post if you deem it too off topic. Thank you.

I keep checking online for news of Morgan, in hopes that she has been found. Imagine my surprise when last night I had “BReaking News” from the Roanoke Times in my inbox. (I live in Nevada now, BTW) The breaking news was about Morgan Harrington. I eagerly read it. I assumed that they had some news to report, after all, this was Sunday evening here–three hours later back there. All it was, was the exact same stroy that was put out by the VSP in Charlottsville.
    http://www.roanoke.com/news/breaking/226182.html

Now, I am thinking that this is another tactical move by the investigators. They want to make certain that everyone in the Roanoke area is aware of the Swarovski necklace, along with the fact that people are reporting that they saw Morgan hitchhiking on that bridge.

This all leads me back to the friends.I am starting to think that perhaps Morgan was escorted out of the building after falling. She hit her head and probably did have a concussion. She probably was in total confusion as to how she could be outside of the arena–before she even got to see Metallica take the stage.

IF she did initiate the call to her friends inside, perhaps she told them she had met up with some friends (BB players) with whom she would hang out with until they came out of the arena. Didn’t the first reports say that the friends waited a while for Morgan, before leaving? They assumed she had gotten her own ride home with friends from Charlottsville. Okay, all of that is just one scenario.

I too am baffled about the lack of pictures from the friends. Morgan’s camera is mysteriously (conveniently) missing. Something’s just not right with the friends. If she were my friend–I would have gone outside and stayed with her. No Way would I leave my friend out there alone. I would have felt responsible–especially if I had her car keys. Something really does stink about the entire string of events. I mean, just how many things went wrong that night????

Sorry, to have rambled. I suppose I am brain storming here as I drink my morning coffee.

I just pray that someone steps forward soon and tells the truth about what occurred that night. It all begins with the “friends” IMHO.

  20. SuzeeB says:

Did any of these witnesses mention the necklace? It would be hard to miss it.

  21. suz says:

you’re welcome, wpgmouse! hey, did you notice there’s another mousie on the board?

  22. Moonchime says:

@SuzeeB– as far as I know, no one mentioned her necklace. Hubby tells me that he doesn’t notice women’s jewelry–but we other women do. But, this was more than an ordinary necklace. I make jewelry–and Swarovski crystals catch the light in such a way, that it would be impossible not to notice. ~Moonchime

Thanks Chad for pointing me towards the Morgan Dana Harrington Facebook page.

The pictures, wow! I knew that Morgan was beautiful but she is gorgeous.
IMO she would have stood out in any crowd. Hopefully LE has weeded out all the non witness statements and they are well on there way to making an arrest. There is one picture of her in a Pantera outfit(not sure if it is THE outfit)
My heart is aching for the worry and anguish her family must be feeling.

    Hi–

Another lurker coming forward. I just wanted to say I’m extremely blown away by this site, by both Blink’s quality administration and the thoughtful and insightful nature of the comments. The comments on some of the other sites attain a level of salaciousness I find creepy.

I wanted to cite two discussions that I haven’t seen mentioned in the thread here and which might be useful to the group. Blink, apologies if you’ve already researched and determined these are bogus.

This is the link for the Find Morgan Facebook discussion from tarheelplaya mentioned by AtotheK, above. The writer claims to know the friends and was asking them questions on behalf of an astrologer, I believe. (It’s a long post, 2/3 of the way down the page). It’s odd, nobody on Facebook seemed to continue the discussion about this post, even though they dissect other comments to an absurd degree.

    http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=162224546575&topic=10558#topic_top

The most interesting part of the post is the fact that the friend giving information was questioned as to why they let Morgan leave when they were so far from home. Her response was that they “always” did this, and it was “the norm” to them.

Second, there was an interesting post on the Find Morgan website, written by someone whose daughter supposedly saw Morgan the concert, describing her impaired condition (here is the link:http://findmorgan.com/forums/index.php?topic=3.0) Don’t know if this girl turned out to be the omnipresent Dee.

    “Morgan Sighted At Concert
    on: October 23, 2009, 04:22:18 AM ยป
What I am about to post has already been called into the tip line last night. My daughter and her husband went to the Metallica concert last Saturday night. They first noticed Morgan because she was standing in the stands and she was turned around taking pictures either with a camera or cell phone of people my daughter assumed she was with. Anyway she caught their attention because Morgan was standing in part of the seating that is very high up and a fall would have been not good. They were afraid she would fall. Later my daughter got kinda sick on the stomach because of the extreamly high seating and decided to go down closer to the main floor. Daughter spent the rest of the concert standing near one of the curtains by one of the passage ways to the stands. About 10 minutes before Metallica came on they seen Morgan again. This time Morgan fell flat on her face right in front of my daughter and son in law. She fell and hit her nose, My daughter and son in law helped her get to her feet. They report that this girl was stoned so bad she could not talk. They kept asking her if she was okay and she could not answer them. They told me that they didn’t know if it was drugs or alcohol, they assumed that maybe it was pot she was on. After a few minutes Morgan turned and left through the curtain and out towards the hallways. That’s it. My daughter is 100% positive that this girl was Morgan. She described the clothing to a “T” and I think it was Wednesday that she saw a picture of Morgan and they both said that this is the same girl that fell in front of them. They also said the Morgan did not appear to be with anyone at that time.”

  25. Momof3 says:

Moonchime thank you for sharing your personal thoughts. I too hope that LE knows exactly what they are doing in this case.

  26. Skyler says:

In response to some posts about admission and being in front of the stage. My son said that they walked thru metal detectors at the doors, then were “patted down.” If, for example, you were wearing a spiked belt, you had to take it off and throw it in a box before being allowed admittance into the arena. He said there were lots of security personnel around the stage, and obviously some of it directly employed by Metallica and not just JPJ — he had floor seats, and he had to show his ticket before being allowed to go down on the floor and stand in front of the stage. The statements of her friends have never made sense to me, but if they have hired attys, they cannot be forced to speak; Va. law states that lie detector tests are unreliable, are not admissible in court, so no suspect can be forced to take a LD test. I’ve wondered about whether she sustained a head injury when she fell. There was a male witness who said he spoke w/ Morgan while waiting to get in the arena, but none of her other friends spoke to him. He did not indicate she was overtly impaired, which confirms my son’s statement that JPJ were doing their best to monitor the crowd; she may not have been admitted if she were impaired. I worked in the legal industry for 20 years, doing a lot of personal injury work (as an independent, I’m not at atty, nor employed by one). I’ve taken thousands of witness statements from teenagers, even young 20′s. People that age have no concept of “death” — it’s just not on their radar — it’s why they drive impaired, or speed 70 in a 35 — or talk to strangers in parking lots — When I was in college, I talked to boys I didn’t know both on campus and in town — and at concerts — it was never on my radar that something untoward could happen — but I also never left a friend or let a friend ride home w/ someone else if we went together in a group — even if Morgan were the author of her own fate by talking to a stranger in a parking lot, being somewhere alone in a dark parking lot — she is NOT responsible for the actions of any person or persons who took advantage of that situation and caused her harm — it’s just my personal opinion that what ultimately happened to Morgan did not happen on the UVA campus or JPJ arena area — it’s also my opinion that whoever is responsibile protrayed themselves as something they were not and someone Morgan could trust — or — that in the darkness of that night — it was cloudy and no moonlight — someone saw an opportunity and snatched her — in either event, it is my fear Morgan is dead — and my prayer that justice is done for this young woman and her family very very soon !!!

My heart is broken for her, and I’m constantly praying for her and the Harrington family.

Blink, I’m confused about these pictures of her with dark hair. I’ve heard speculation about her being taken for human trafficing. Is this what you’re referring to?

Please keep up the good work. I can’t wait until Morgan is home, safe and sound. 2-4-1.

I also did a search on tarheelplay06 and found quite a bit about him.
It may or may not be the same person but the age group matches.
It may worth something speaking with him.

My apologies, I/We know who he is. I am trying to make a concerted effort to not have friends names on here unless they speak to the press, are a witness or otherwise Id’d.. Fine to have links though.

A note of caution on the Astrology business. While it is interesting to some, I don’t believe it is distinct enough of a resource tool and am going to be honest and say I lump them with psychics; it is all subjective data.

An example would be, in that very forum, I was horrified to learn that although Baby Shannon Deatrick was recovered safely, I was sent a post from that forum stating the baby was brutally abused for weeks and murdered by one of her parents.

That is grossly irresponsible when a baby is missing. When she was recovered it was loosely referred to as their miracle that they stopped it from happening or something? That in itself is supposed to be the exact opposite of their claims.
That said, anyone quoting or posting from there does so without an endorsement from me, this site or any of it’s affiliates.

The wrong person is going to suffer the wrong emotional distress at that forum, imo, and that will be the end of telling people who is suspected/ alive /dead based on “casting a chart.”

I am not a believer of psychics (or astrology) either. They just seem to prey on the weak.

Not all, but too many that I am aware of. No prob,

Blink, I value your comments and thoughts, so I have a question for you. Above, you state you feel an arrest will be made soon,so I am assuming you have a suspect(s) in mind. Do you feel pretty confident in your hunch? I pray this is settled soon for the sake of the family… they have been through so much pain.

Your not going to like my answer. I feel they are “close” but not necessarily “soon.” That is as specific as I feel comfortable commenting right now.

Was reading at another site about LE finding the body of 5 yr old little Shaniya Davis. They were talking about how this child’s mom sold the child, for sex trafficking, and talking about how people post the ads on Craigslist in code. So I searched Craigslist, personals for Oct. 17th, the day Morgan was at the concert. (I know the ad was posted on Oct. 1st, but was reposted on Oct 17th too):

“College student wanting to explore m4w – 18 (Cville)
    Date: 2009-10-01, 12:01AM EDT

I’m a local college student looking to explore the kinkier side of things in the bedroom, I know how to please woman but want to try new things, and learn new things. I play baseball and basketball, athletic and fit. Looking for someone who wants to try similar things out, if this is you email me.

    Location: Cville”

IF you can believe this ad, it’s someone who plays both baseball & basketball.

    These are some sick freaks….

Sad to say, but I was in a situation in which my girlfriends left a concert without me. I came with a group of friends and tailgated before heading into the arena. I told my friends I’d be right back cuz I wanted to go say hi to another group of friends. On they way, I stopped at the bathroom. Apparently, the earlier tailgating had caught up to me and I got sick. Apparently, I was escorted out because I was intoxicated and was left to figure out my own ride home, luckily I was able to find a person who got me there. Now this was before cell phones were everywhere, but both of my friends assumed I was with the other and OK. Both friends were also mad at me that I never saw either of them again (assuming I had ditched them both)…until I explained what happened the next day. Not saying that is what happened, but I was in my early 20′s and this story makes me realize how lucky I was. I’ll keep MH in my prayers.

  35. suz says:

sandrainLA, IIRC, that kid on the astrology forum was actually asking questions of the friends of the friends, or something like that, which I think is one reason things were still a bit vague. Could also have been fake, who knows, but I guess as long as the friends are talking to the family and the police, they don’t need to talk to us. (Though I sure would like to know what they have to say. I guess we’ll eventually find out, hopefully with a happy ending (looking grim, but to me there is always a chance).

  36. SandraInLA says:

Hi, Suz — Yes, I think so. Parsing out questions and replies in the post was a bit difficult, but I think the chain was Astrologer asking Kid to ask a Friend of Morgan’s or a Friend-of-a-Friend of Morgan’s? To me, the vagueness of certain replies lent the post some credence–a sudden outpouring of detail would have been odd.

As I mentioned above, the comment that the group was accustomed to separating and going off with other people, maybe not coming back to the main group stuck with me. It would explain the seemingly laissez-faire attitude regarding Morgan’s situation.

  37. George says:

I keep thinking about the parking lot where her purse was found and where she was earlier seen talking with the basketball players. What are the odds Morgan would randomly wind up in an isolated parking lot and one of the few parking lots not given over to the arena event parking at that time?

I think she had been there before and was trying to meet someone who uses the lot regularly, but was unabble to hook-up this time. That would explain the later behavior on the bridge; she was not trying to hitch-hike back to Harrisonburg or Blacksburg, she was trying to flag down somebody to take her somewhere close-by.

  38. NYMom says:

Morgan’s friends would have known that she was wearing that necklace that night. I think the necklace is being showcased to the public now because LE has connected it to a POI but needs a stronger bit of proof.

Maybe the POI tried to sell it or bragged about having it or wore it–or gave it to a GF or someone else to have or handle.

This was on the news in Roanoke today….

    (quote)
Two Roanoke College students charged with abduction & sexual battery

Two Roanoke College students have been charged with abduction and sexual battery after allegedly assaulting a fellow student.

According to a news release, an 18 year old female student told police she was assaulted inside Crawford Hall, which is located in the 200 block of College Lane in Salem, around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Police say she told them she was with two male students in a dorm room when she was held against her will and assaulted. She did not require any medical treatment.

Authorities have charged Nicholas Alexander Galloway, age 19, of Wilmington, Delaware and Kenneth Eugene Tisch, age 21, of Haymarket, Virginia. Both are charged with abduction and sexual battery.

Galloway is a freshman at Roanoke College. Tisch is a sophomore at Roanoke College.

The two men are being held in the Roanoke County/Salem jail. (end quote)

Have to wonder if these two guys went to the Metallica Concert or were there hanging around C’ville that weekend. When guys hold a woman against her will in this public a setting (on-campus dorm room) to sexually assault her, one has reason to wonder if they are beyond the ability to control themselves in less restrictive situations.

Here’s hoping VSP will be interviewing them.

    Suz,

I appreciate your clarification the gorillia suit experiment, and also your moral of the story. We all should always be aware of surroundings……..

KFB21- I wanted to respond to your post. My heart goes out to you for you, Morgans friends and for the Harringtons. Your very special and personal connection to Morgan is appreciated on this board. I’m sure Morgan is everything that you describe she is in your post. She sounds so unique and special. Thank you for posting and sharing with us.
As you can see by the posts on this board, we all are trying to make sense of this unexplained dissappearance of your missing friend, Morgan. I hope that Morgan is found, and brought safely home.
I believe this is what we all want for her, and her family.

    Hi Blink –
    Ive been lurking :-)

Please dont post this. **As discussed, posted with permission**

I think Morgan lost her cell phone battery INSIDE the arena, when she fell. She was drunk, there was a lot of commotion going on, and she put the back back on her phone and couldnt find the battery.

When she got outside, she used the phone of a bball player to call her friend. I think this is why the police have come out now asking for anyone whose cell phone Morgan may have asked to use please come forward, even though they say they have no evidence she used someone elses phone.

I think they definitely DO have evidence she used someone elses phone, and I think it was one of the UVA bball players. This is a tactical move on LEs part.

I am going to HALF answer your question. I believe there is a call to a number associated somehow with Morgan’s circle that is as yet untraceable. What I believe is attributable to a BB player is the hitchhiking account, imo.
    B

They cant tie the bball player to the case yet, but they know they have their man and are waiting for him to break.

The bball players were always suspects. Either way, I dont think it is a case of murder. Its a case of negligence and manslaughter, and some senior college jocks who made some bad decisions with horrible consequences. This is more about politics than kidnapping.

Thanks for listening. Please dont post this. :-)

There are witnesse and accounts of Morgan being a the concert. Seems she may have had a ‘fall’ while taking pics of the concert. Some of the statements made on this link have been given to local law authorities.

One witness says she saw Morgan in the parking lot with a man holding her arm. Morgan looked appeared to the witness as resisting this person.

Blink, do you think the Harringtons know who is involved in her disappearance?

  44. Lovely says:

oh thats good…i wanted to ask you – do you think my theory holds water?

sorry, if I cant post it is not fair to others to speak to it, I hope you understand.

  45. sweetpea says:

    Skyler-

Thank you for the input regarding the security upon entering the concert.

If they took the search to a level of a pat down, then I am about 100% positive that they had security informing people of the consequences if they walked out the arena.

Morgan, must have known she was not getting back in “You walk out that door, You are not getting back in” is pretty clear even when a person is intoxicated. Drugged maybe???

However, I find it hard to believe that she was lured out, I have yet to see any credible sightings of her being with anyone other than the basketball players and I got the impression that she was alone when they came upon her.

  46. Lovely says:

B – its fair game for you to post it, as long as there is no way for anyone to find out where the post comes from or my email address, IP address, etc.
if its untraceable, feel free to post it. :-)

  47. Stephanie says:

I have to say- I just read a post by Morgan’s mother on a discussion board and the overwhelming grief I could feel in her every word made me sick to my stomach. I honestly believed that by posting my “psychic” belief in what I “got” in regards to Morgans disappearance, would perhaps be helpful in bringing justice. I can not simply give up on doing something that could possibly help find a missing child and put the “bad man” in jail, but I can promise you this, from today forward, unless I am specifically asked to do so, my version of any further events or cases, will be reserved for LE. I sincerely apologize for anyone I may have offended. I pray for a happy ending.

    S
I respect your apology and I also agree it is not prudent to post if you do have the potential to progress a case, it should be private.
Even in a best case scenario, if it were your child, isn’t there something intensely indignifying to be reading horrific acts perpetrated on your child by a stranger? Not judging, just feel that level of respect should never be breached.

For example Baby Shaniya Davis was found today. I am so racked by what happened to that child I cannot cover it. I cannot.
    Can’t write the words.

  48. Kelly says:

    Hello Blink-

If I may…I’ve noticed several notations regarding Morgan’s change in hair color/style. On her facebook page are pictures of her that an individual transposed with what she might look like with different colors/styles. It is my understanding that this was done so that others could see what she’d look like in a variety of ways, supposedly in the case she was made to change her looks (for trafficking, etc.). I hope this makes sense.

  49. gotoutofpcity says:

259 suz… thanks as well for clearing up my mention of the gorilla suit experiment, I read about it recently in Richard Dawkins’ new book and went back today to re-read it and correct myself

My only beef is with news shows on TV, they seem to cherish all these eye-witness testimonies as if they are breaks in the case. Today, both the sightings from that article on the hook (the guy who claimed he was kicked, and the woman who swears morgan was walking with 4 guys at 9 pm-ish away from the arena) were featured on prime news and jane velez-mitchell on Headline News. I don’t think its right to take uncorroborated, unverifiable supposed sightings and post them on national TV to create a buzz.

The witnesses, or their un-credited statements?
