“WPG, would you be so kind as to elaborate on the ‘lawn’ and medical report business?
I can’t recall the details. Thanks.”
sue,
snipped from article by Courteney Stuart, The Hook, Sunday Nov 15, 2009
“One possible witness has been speaking publicly, in part, she says, because she doesn’t believe investigators have fully followed her lead.
“I know what I saw,” says Norma Parson, a newspaper delivery woman who believes she saw Morgan– or an incredible lookalike— coming out of a room on UVA’s West Lawn at 3:45am October 18, six hours after the last confirmed sighting on Copeley Bridge.
“She was tall and thin,” says Parson, who says the woman’s high black boots had heels making her appear taller than Morgan’s reported height of 5′6″ and that she wasn’t wearing the black hose or tights police have described.
Because the woman also was wearing a jacket that was fastened shut, Parson says, she couldn’t determine whether the woman’s blonde hair, which was tucked inside, was long or short. But as the blond woman— accompanied by three young men, two shorter, one taller— passed by her in the well-lit brick walkway along the Lawn, she says, she got a clear look at her face, and her heavily made-up eyes, in particular. She says the woman’s presence in the wee hours of a chilly night— and her bare legs— seized her attention.
“I thought, ‘What’s she doing out here dressed like that,’” Parson recalls. When she learned of Harrington’s disappearance two days later and saw photographs of heavy mascara- and eyeliner-wearing Morgan, “I knew immediately it was the same girl I saw,” says Parson, who credits art training for teaching her to examine facial details— even those she sees in passing. “I never had a moment’s doubt,” she insists.
Evidence experts, however, say that even the most earnest and certain witnesses can err.
(I snipped out the paragraph on evidence expert, etc,. etc….)
The female student who lives in the room Parson identified did not respond to repeated inquiries from a reporter, but a neighboring student says police interviewed him and his neighbors following Parson’s tip.
“There is no blond girl who lives along this stretch,” says John Griffin, a Fourth Year engineering student, who lives next door, near Pavilion VII.
Griffin says these rooms are among the quietest on the Lawn and that neither he nor the woman whose room the Morgan lookalike was allegedly seen exiting were home on concert night. In fact, he notes, the Colonnade Club, which occupies Pavilion VII, was busy that night, and Griffin wonders if Parson may have simply seen wedding guests. “There were people from that party all up and down here that weekend,” he recalls.
Parson says she remains frustrated that police have not allowed her to identify the men she saw with the woman— particularly because she saw one on a subsequent night on the Lawn.
“I just want them to let me identify who I saw,” says Parsons, who now fears that her status as a potential witness may have put her in danger as she makes her middle-of-the-night newspaper rounds. But law expert Mnookin points out that police are limited when it comes to identifying people who haven’t committed a crime.
“You can’t arrest someone for no reason, and can’t make someone be in a line-up,” she says. If there were an already existing photo or if Parson could point one out in a public place, police could question him.
Parson acknowledges there’s a possibility the woman she saw wasn’t Morgan, but without knowing who it was— or who the men with that woman are— she says, there’s no way to rule it out.
Two doors down from the room Parson identified, Fourth Year student Declan Tansey says he was not interviewed by police and hadn’t heard anything about the case except what he’s read in news accounts. He, however, agrees with Griffin’s assessment that his room and the rooms around it are not the “party rooms” on the Lawn.
According to police spokesperson Corinne Geller, police have “thoroughly vetted” Parson’s lead but have not found anything connecting it to Morgan’s disappearance.”

sue,
As far as the EMT records for the West Lawn, someone here provided a link a while ago. Have to look back.
from Blink:
“Lol, at your Lez-ure then, Love-ee ( Say with teeth clenched like Thirsten Howell)”
Blink,
You mean THE MILLIONAIRE Thurston Howell III hugging a teddy bear while Lovey admires her wheel bling, I mean real bling?
Sorry if that was too long of an article snip from The Hook. Thought it was all pertinent to The Lawn for sue’s request.
The SAME.. Dahlink..
B
Here’s some info about who lives on the lawn at uva. The article is from last year, (oops two years now!) but provides a line drawing of the pavilion layout.

Oh, yeah, HNY to you all. Whoopwhoop.
I heard that *pop* in Jersey. Atta girl. HNY
B
Oh, redly, good info. That is precisely what I thought was going on. The drama of that whole scene plus possible financial issues made me think he could be thrown off track.
I’ve tried to put myself in his extra-large shoes and figure out what’s going on. I wish him the very best.
Question, though. Why was he not in the net of academic support as a valued student and athlete? Hopefully, the publicity arising from an untimely sanction will make someone in the department sit up and say, wut happened here?
Still, did one of the ballers say he’d get *his* car and drive around to the bridge to get her? Did she call someone (on one of the ballplayer’s trac phones? ) for a ride? Maybe someone involved with the video shoot that weekend? Everyone’s a suspect and I’m still hoppin’ mad–okay, quietly seething.
Thank you WPG. This is VERY interesting indeed.

Page down to October 18th and see that the simple assault case is listed as still active, the next one is the person in need of medical assistance also listed as still active.
The found purse on the same day, still active.
the emt records are easily accessed by going to the uva police reports and typing in the date, though they do not report the names of individuals involved, place and time are clearly stated. the case in ? is still listed as active. again, i say that it is what has NOT been said that is more telling than what has been. and, y’all need to remember that had blink not exposed that the bball players had been interviewed, we would never have known of it…. call me crazy…. but, gosh…
emt was called, the underage kids scatter to avoid drinking tickets, etc… it is every man and/ or woman for themselves… keeping in mind that one of the friends morgan went to the concert with said they had planned on staying at uva the whole time.
this whole deal stinks of nastiness. and, i am not talking cheese
HNY to you, too, Blink. Thank you for allowing me to think aloud here. I am honored to squeeze into the cheese line. If it moves, we will find it. Heck, we’ll build a cheese stadium with it!
That pop you heard might have been my back, relaxing with 1/2 a dwinkie. Might only take another half to do a full body shiatsu on me!
Also, five arrests at the JPJ arena on the night of October 17th.
I wonder if they are all related or separate? The numbers could imply related.
200901371,72,73,74,75. Of course, I have no idea what these numbers mean.
http://www.virginia.edu/uvapolice/reports.html
Sue, I posted a screenshot of that I believe, a while back. What is important to note is that UVA WAS ARRESTING THOSE INTOXICATED. If Morgan was as impaired as implied, would she have been arrested?
B
I respect that and stand corrected. But you have not addressed if he was a member of the student athlete academics program. Was he?
B
Blink — not sure what you are asking if this is some special program for athletes. If you are just asking if he was on the team — my understanding was he left the team for a while, then was going to come back and was reinstated to the roster, and then ultimately was removed from the team when grades came back. I think he has always been on a athletic scholarship though (and still is).
There definitely is. You just made me search for a link on NYE in the middle of maintaining my household reign as swordfight Queen. Good on you.
I am referring to C.A.S.T.

these items are found about a week later (10/23)–and the case is listed three months after as “still active?” Could they be Morgan’s? ‘Cuz I don’t see why the UVA cops can’t just call the Visa 800 #, identify themselves as LE to the appropriate dept., return ID/cards and close the case.

Excellent advice. My youngest son is 24 and in grad school at a college just 45 minutes away. I still insist on knowing his school schedule, work schedule, and as much as possible his social schedule. I’ve always been totally involved in all of my kids activities. When he was younger he had his moments of resenting my involvement but now that he is older he appreciates it (or maybe he just humors me). LOL I know it makes me seem like a crazy overprotective mother but that is my job. Two years ago I got a call from him at 1:30 in the morning. You know, that scary call that no parent ever wants to get. He was living very close to campus in a house with 2 close friends and they were away at a concert that night. He did not go because he had to work the next day. He was asleep when his dog Berkley started growling and basically going nuts. Berkley was in a cage in the room next to him. My son got up and grabbed his shotgun (yes, we are pro guns) and went quietly down the hall and there were two intruders in his house. It was dark and they did not see him but they certainly heard him cock that gun! They both ran back out the door onto the deck and thru the back yard. He chased them and even shot up into the air. Police came but of course no one was ever caught. It was summer and the guys had heavy jackets on and ski masks. Probably there to rob them. The thing is, these boys never locked their doors. They do now.
He called after the police left and I talked to him about an hour. He was very shaken up. I asked him why he did not shot them and he said “it was enough to scare them away, I just couldn’t take a chance on killing someone unless I knew my life was in danger”. BUT, if he had not had that gun, I don’t know what the outcome would have been. I had argued with him about taking that gun because of him living with other guys and the chances of an accident happening. Now, I am so glad he had it.
Sorry about the rambling story. My point being that bad things can happen to our daughters and even our sons. We cannot arm them enough. I have ordered 4 copies of the book “Gift of Fear”. It will be a gift to my daughter, daughter-in-law, youngest son’s girlfriend and myself.
hahaha! on the dwinkie! you don’t want to know where i went with that…
but, point taken on the arrest records for that night. if morgan was as visibly impaired as some would have us believe, i think the cops would have been all over it, or would have at least had a report on her somewhere.
(private please, this part)
has anyone looked at connections some of these players may have and why there would be a cover- up?

Blink you responded:

B
I was thinking along these same lines… wasn’t one of the reasons a person could be ejected from the arena was public intoxication or the appearance of such? Was she kicked out? Were police called?
Didn’t she try several times to reenter? I would think that if she is described as not acting rationally, perhaps confrontational, for the patrons own safety and security’s, they would have documented any incidence.
Also, wouldn’t there be cameras at all entrances? During the press conference did they say they do have video of her or still negative?
Neg.
B
LuvBlink, thank you very much for your response, much appreciated. HNY
Gil Harrington’s thoughts from December 26th
ON DECEMBER – 31 – 20091 COMMENT
We managed Christmas. Somehow, by resting in the love of our friends, we were supported and carried over the roughest spots. It wasn’t our usual celebration, but I am proud of us that we were able to acknowledge the day and to create some memories of this special holiday in the aftermath of Morgan’s abduction.
Folks have been so kind – I didn’t think we would have a tree – we don’t – we have 3! All smaller – more muted and perfect to honor the season, as well as Morgan.
This is our 2nd holiday without Morgan – we didn’t cry as much as at Thanksgiving. Not sure if we are coping better or if the tear ducts have just run dry. 2 4 1

Gil Harrington’s thoughts from December 21
ON DECEMBER – 30 – 20093 COMMENTS
We traveled to Charlottesville to meet with the Virginia State Police. That was a bit tense – everyone involved just desperate for some break that will bring Morgan home. It is difficult for all of us to be forced to wait for some development. We want more active roles –after all, our quest is to FIND MORGAN not wait for Morgan, but it seems that just now, that is what we must do.
So much snow we weren’t even able to get out at the bridge. We stopped our car in the middle of the road and tossed a pine wreath up on the giant snow bank that covered the place on Copley Bridge where Morgan was last seen. Driving away it looked more a funeral than I anticipated.
The snow worries me. Is she cold? Is her abductor snowed out – or even worse is he snowed in with her? Cannot go there. I pray for strength to come to all of us. 2 4 1

cattymama, 241 is Harrington-family slang for (something like) “I love you 2 much, 4 ever, and 1 more time” (or once more I think it is, but the numeral works better with 1 more time) = 241
Could be, NYMom. Blink, I noticed that two arrests were code 32 and three were code 57.
I assume they are code for some sort of state of drunkenness. Too bad she wasn’t arrested.
I do think now, having revisited that page, that Blink was right originally when she pointed out the stolen purse from the car earlier in the day.
Go look at it printed on the page and then read through the site of the other reports. This report stands out somehow. I think it’s the detail of the word ‘purse’ for me. This word appears earlier on the 17th and then again the morning of the 18th and we know it was Morgan’s on the 18th.
I do think these two reports could be related.
YEP.
FINALLY.. lol
B
NY Mom, even weirder, why don’t the cops just look at the name on the ID to determine the owner? The credit card I guess could be a gift card that doesn’t have a name on it, but the ID? That should be easy..!
HNY to all. Prayers for Morgan and the Harrington family.
Feta anyone?
fait accompli, how appropriate.
Many thanks
B
Has anybody read this article? Interesting read. Dan Harrington was interviewed and there is an offical police report listed.
After reading this, I am confused on a few issuses.
1. DH states he called the friends on that Sunday morning when Morgan didn’t show up. I read somewhere else that the police called him when Morgan’s handbag was found and then he called the friends.
2. DH confirms that Morgan’s car was driven to the concert. I read elsewhere that he was adamant that her car stayed at JMU.
Is anybody else still confused on these issues or is it just me. Also read (can’t find link) where the VSP stated that the friends did take pictures at the concert with Morgan’s camera.
http://www.examiner.com/x-30376-Private-Investigations-Examiner~y2009m12d22-Help-find-Morgan-Harrington-missing-young-Virginia-woman
Good questions.
#1 is correct, Dr. Harrington was notified by UVA of the purse. He then called the friends.
Car was definately at the concert.
B
I wonder what you had to do to get arrested for drunk in public at that show. Only 5 arrests out of 16000 fans? Seems like a small portion of the true number of drunks that must have been there. The Jimmy Buffet show there (and that is a super drinky concert if there ever was one) had only 10 arrests. http://www.newsplex.com/home/headlines/70337382.html
How drunk do you have to be to make the grade, I wonder?

“We believe that what happened from 8:30 to 9:30 is very relevant,” Rader said, adding that subsequent info is also important. “Nothing is too trivial.
The police say that nothing is too trivial, yet the public has been told almost nothing about her! The police are not trying very hard to help the public find her. If we knew more about her, it would help us find her, I believe!
It would help us know things like:
Was she taking any psychiatric medications?
What psychiatric medications was she taking?
Had she ever attempted suicide?
Had she ever been convicted of a felony?
Had she ever dated anyone who had been convicted of a felony?
Had anyone ever stalked her?
What is her GPA?
Have her grades been going well? Getting better? Getting worse?
You can’t blame the public for wanting to know: anything might help people in their search!”

One of our posters here, responding earlier today to Blink’s New Year message of “please don’t hate the Ants; just don’t hate anyone” mentioned that we sometimes reveal our own life difficulties when we
question the actions of others. I found this post revealing, just from a human interest angle. I liked that analysis and many of the rest of yours, btw.

ALRIGHT, New Years Cab Confessions: this is really dumb but I have had a lot of trouble with why the Woods lady at UVA would say something about the lighting structure they had in place in the RV lot.
She mentioned it was for the Duke game. (I know.) Is this a guilty conscience saying that they could have had that lot lit (slurp) better than it was lit? Or is it some veiled reference to someone from a foreign campus…Lots of speculation, of course, but you all are such good sports.
Here’s a link to the Hook report and photo of the lighting structure. http://www.readthehook.com/blog/index.php/2009/10/28/on-the-bridge-morgan-harrington-last-seen-over-train-tracks/
Photo caption reads: UVA spokesperson Carol Wood confirms that a mobile light, like this one installed for the October 31 football game against Duke, was operating in the RV Lot during the Metallica concert.

It looks like UVA police responded to the lawn at 2:11 am. I can’t believe that it was Morgan related simply because they would have taken someone that messed up to the hospital or at least this would have extented their timeline of events.
I’m not sure I see what Blink sees here. Maybe I’m missing something?

Huh? Was there a baseball game before the concert?
all right y’all…
let’s go back to blink’s responses to our queries, even ones she did not edit, and see what we come up with????
if i knew how to cut, copy and paste on my computer, i would…
i think we will find lots of answers if we start at the very beginning and post blink’s ‘bold’ responses, and sometimes questions, to our posts…anybody willing to give it a whirl?
Christy S.,
EMT’s answered the call for the West Lawn – - a couple of times, if I recall.
Now where is that report EMT report?
I’ve pondered the police reports from that weekend off and on. Here’s some blips from my mental meanderings.
Wondered about the stolen purse–was it hers? Wouldn’t ya think that something would have been in it that she needed–the tickets? her camera? her phone? (okay, I know the phone never leaves the hand)
Then wondered, when they found the purse, was her ID in it? So they knew to call? But then I had all the questions about the ID etc. found later. That should be easy to resolve, right?
Of course, if she had reported her purse missing, then one by that description was found, maybe they could have called even without an ID in the purse.
So then how did her phone end up back by the purse? Or was it?
Etc. through the loop-da-loops until I said what the heck, LE knows all of this, so why am I wasting brain cells trying to figure this one out.
And moved on. Until now.
“UHoh, somebody was on the break off the wheel. I posted on this, the “Park” was the Northern lot that the stolen purse call occurred.. It is only accessible by shuttle, really. Arriving every 15-ish.”
lol
So, like what, the purse was stolen from a SHUTTLE?
(luckily i noticed I had typed an “i” instead of a “u” in “shuttle just before I hit the submit for champagne button)
Ugh, I already pushed the button. May need to link after the fact…..
B
christy s…..oh. and i think blink sees that someone was needing medical assistance just a few minutes before there was sighting of morgan on that same part of campus????? just a guess on my part… i do not think the person needing assistance was morgan, but maybe someone she was with? or had been with/ associated with?
more importantly, it seems that the whole timeline after the supposed last sighting of morgan on the bridge has just been erased… there are as many or more people who claim to have seen her after that, as those who claim to seen her before. what is up with that?
Blink,
Are you saying the 2 purse reports are indeed both for Morgan’s purse?
If so, then it could not have been her seen dropping a purse multiple times at or outside the arena. Not her or a woman dropping purse never happened?
well, we dont know when the purse droppings occurred. I am of the opinion they may have occurred inside, but not sure.

I thought that Observer said in a way far away post….(yes, I will try to link it, a zillion posts ago) that the stolen purse was actually a breakin to a car and was actaully unrelated to Morgan’s purse. 2 seperate incidences? Morgan had her purse with her.
I would suggest that anyone inquiring should read the very first threads. NOT this one, but the initial ones back in late Oct. Observer has clarified many things that are now being brought up again as new information or insight.
Hey Dakota, thanks for the song loan. I was just thinking of loaning one up myself.
Just lyrics, just words, but I hear a voice in their somewhere.
It’s Already Gone, by Kelly Clarkson.
Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories, they’re haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye
Even with our fists held high
It never would have worked out right, yeah
We were never meant for do or die…
I didn’t want us to burn out
I didn’t come here to hurt you now I can’t stop…
I want you to know
It doesn’t matter where we take this road
Someone’s gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn’t have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I’m already gone
Looking at you makes it harder
But I know that you’ll find another
That doesn’t always make you wanna cry
It started with the perfect kiss then
We could feel the poison set in
“Perfect” couldn’t keep this love alive
You know that I love you so
I love you enough to let you go
…
Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories, they’re haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye…
I want you to know
It doesn’t matter where we take this road
Someone’s gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn’t have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I’m already gone
I’m already gone, already gone
You can’t make it feel right
When you know that it’s wrong
I’m already gone, already gone
There’s no moving on,
So I’m already gone

In the above Larceny, purse and contents stolen from vehicle, does RPT mean when the indicent was reported and OCC means when the incident occurred? If so, then the purse was stolen between 5:38 and 5:55 pm. and it was reported at 9:30 pm. Am I reading that correctly. Why would someone wait that long to report it unless they didn’t know it was missing until they went back to their car. What does the suspended mean? Does that mean the purse was found, as in the next morning.
Oops typo in “their” but that reminds me of what Skyler said earlier. The friends of Morgan has somehow stated that they object to being called–in quotes–”the friends” as if their friendship is in question or their actions are in question.
Somehow, I didn’t get that. I’m old, of course, but I thought I’d be honored to be one of ‘the friends’–definitely would give you respected status. I would want to everyone to know that I care so much for this woman who is now missing. I have no idea how they are able to continue and I am so sorry they have to go through this whole tragedy.
Please note the proper J2K use of elipsis; not champagne punching button here; omelette lust (ala Julia for tomorrow.
Blessed be. All.

I’m sorry guys, I did not mean to come off harsh guys at all….but I’m a little OCD about the purse. We’ve diced it, sliced, pureed, and even cremated it, and here we are again! (ugh……sigh) I personally do not believe that that even if the 2 purse reports were related, would that really affect the outcome of this case? The fact that they found Morgan’s purse is pivotal, but the 2 reports…..isn’t worth our time. Are we here to implicate the UVA police, VSP on what a poor job they did on reporting the purse? NO. I hardly think so. I believe we spent an entire thread discussing the purse. Perhaps we missed something back then, and need a re fresher which I am open to.
It’s a report. A simple report that very well maybe separate incidences that occured the same evening on the 17th. But that really doesn’t change the fact that Morgan is missing does it?
Let’s keep the focus. Bringing Morgan home is our focus. Not the purse or the VSP.
I believe that LE has a specific theory.
I don’t think anyone is implicating anyone. I think the purse issue cannot be ruled out. What if Morgan called it in to get inside her car? Or the reporter of the stolen purse took down the report incorrectly. This occurs at almost the precise moment she is last seen. To me, the occurance time would be the same time they arrived if it was not noticed until much later. The call was suspended. Why?
There is no indictment on UVA in this regard, even on the discovery of the purse Sat am and filing a lost property. Morgan was not “officially missing” yet, it was not known. I believe they followed protocol.

Thinking along the same lines. Was trying to post about the same time as you and computer locked up. Just now got back in. Doesn’t make sense.
Anyone any thoughts?
Blink,
If you could please clarify these 2 purse reports as being 2 different purses/owners, otherwise the implications are too great. Thank you.
We don’t know, WPG, all speculation. I wrote about it a while back, lemme look for it.

Was the scheduled Wayne Townsend wedding for real? All those gifts picked out at Target and Macy’s, and all that was purchased was a set of knives? Is Daddy Wayne’s middle initial I? When was his son born? Four younger siblings? Former security; currently EMT & DSP; applying to UVA to make ends meet, but wants to stay involved with ARC. Sounds like a nice guy; seems to be a heavy gamer. Still into Second Life?

Could be just that he remembered seeing her, and felt personally touched by her disappearance? Maybe like some of us, only closer to what happened?
Had to get up out of bed and post this.
Thinking about the EMT’s I have come across, and the care and commitment to saving lives they display every day, perhaps Wayne T. was conflicted about not being able to prevent what happened to Morgan that night. Might have taken it to heart and that may have motivated him to create the FB site to help find her. Just a 2010 middle of the night opinion.
Happy New Year Blink and All! I am a longtime lurker and first time poster. I have been following Morgan’s case from the beginning as it haunts me. Blink, you are a hero to many who otherwise would not have a voice. I have been (and I am sure I will continue to be) so impressed with the dialogue on this site plus with how people are treated – Blink you have an A++++ site. Morgan’s FB site turned into a “free for all” and I just did not have the stomach for it any longer. I feel as if I can empathize somewhat with the Harrington’s as my daughter passed away due to liver failure due to overdose of painkillers (which she was able to obtain over the internet in ways I never dreamed possible!) We are now in a new year and the Harrington’s need closure. I hope and pray it will be very very soon. Also, ever since there was more info listed about WT it has really caused me to wonder – his ducks sure were in a row….. But that could be coincidence… Also, don’t most perps like to involve themselves in the cases as the cases evolve? Just wondering? Maybe as the day goes on I might actually think of something else – too early right now – ha ha Take care and have a good day. PMShadow
PM-
I am very, very sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. It is amazing you can turn such a tragedy into compassion for others. God Bless and Happy New Year.

Response to Mary #1295, won’t be offering many comments going forward, but did want to say, not offended. I do want to say that I think you have offered a wonderful piece of advice about the use of cab or car services. I haven’t used a cab in years, but I will certainly remember what you have suggested. Also, anyone who ever does have to accept a ride from someone who is not well known or COMPLETELY (not yelling just don’t know how to highlight here) and ABSOLUTELY trustworthy, get on your phone and say something very innocent such as, “don’t worry, I’ve gotten a ride with John Jones and should be home in 20 minutes.” Anything to make someone aware of where you are and, in a very un-threatening way, make the “good Samaritan” aware that someone else knows you are in his presence. Safe travels to all
Good Advice. Own your personal safety.
