Charlottesville, VA–The disappearance of Morgan Harrington, missing since October 17, 2009 is exhibiting the potential to reach a temperature that is currenlty encompassing the Northeast: VERY COLD.
Through the thousands of posts at blinkoncrime.com and numerous articles covering Morgan, it is clear that frustration in the lack of lead generation and ambiguous statements from the Virginia State Police are causing some to lack conviction Morgan will be found.
In a recent press conference by VSP, LE provided NO NEW information or progress regarding Morgan’s case. In a shift of posture by the Harrington family, Dr. Harrington has begun participating in online chat and sponsored an additional facebook site to help the efforts to find his daughter.
In fact, for the first time in 2.5 months, we know what kind of camera Morgan had with her the evening of the Metallica concert from his research.
In contrast, we have viewed footage and photos of her dear friends that have clearly moved on without the knowledge of their friends plight.
Girls will be girls you say? Before one person comes on here to tell me I am being too critical of these young women you should know that due to a fortunate Facebook update, describing these girls as Morgan’s friends is entirely generous.
Furthermore, if you happen to be one of the parents that has provided booze for underage minors captured on digital for all to see you may wish to take a peek at what is on your daughter’s social sites.
Have you thought about what it would be like to be Gil or Dan while your linin’ it up and throwin’ em back WITH your kids?
Fortunately, this is not the focus today. I do not feel Morgan’s friends did anything to directly cause her fate. They are more “ME” than frienemy, that is evident.
Gil Harrington, posting on the families site findmorgan.com, wrote one of the most eloquent and courageous posts from the Mother of a missing child I have ever read.
The snowfall is beautiful but still disturbing – melancholy. Wonder if Morgan is cold – is snow falling on her face – or is her face covered by leaves in a shallow grave being hidden by the snow. I glance out the window and see the crimson blaze of a cardinal at the bird feeder – my heart leaps for a second at the beauty – then I think its feathers look like blood in the snow. Is that what Morgan’s blood looks like in the snow? See how the pitfalls are everywhere – even at the bird feeder.
In a somewhat angst-ridden moment, a poster on blinkoncrime.com suggested any and all witnesses in this case should be subject to repeated Barry Manilow songs until they confess.
It jogged a memory for me that reminded me that I am proudly my Father’s daughter. Morgan is Dan Harrington’s daughter.
Maybe someone, somewhere, has just not approached that perspective.

Barry holds a special place in the heart of my family. When I was a kid I used to play dress up with my Mom’s clothes. If a pair of her way-too-big-for-me heels was “done”, she would let me cut off the ankle straps and dance around in them as slides.
One afternoon, when I should have been doing my homework, I was blaring Copa Cabana in my Parents study dressed like a thriftshop showgirl and when ” Who could ask for more…at the Copa” part came on, I kicked like a 12 year old Rockette and launched my “slide/RPG” into the ceiling.
There it stayed.
I threw everything I could find at that shoe to dislodge it. Nothing.
Except for the new marks on the scalloped ceiling.
Later, when unbeknownst to me, my Dad was reading his 12 daily newspapers in the study, I thought I might try another idea.
I jumped as hard as I could at the spot upstairs above where the slutslipper was lodged.
It worked on the 3rd try.
How do I know?
I heard a “S o n o f a …..” , then something that sounded like a combination of my first and middle names with a swear word interjected that was rising in tone and volume, and now coming my way.
As I hit the hallway to head to the other direction or squeeze myself unnaturally under something, there He was
My Dad, evidence in hand, smiling wryly form ear to ear.
“Yours I presume, young lady,” his forearm outstretched gently with the nail to my coffin in his palm.
I responded .. “What makes you say that?
Could be ketchup or mustards..”
(Lame editors note: do NOT ask, my sisters and I had bathing suits that matched when we were little that were red, yellow and white, respectively, it stuck to this day, I was Mayo)
He replied .. ” Because I know, this weekend, when you fish out your overalls and help me fix the ceiling before your Mother notices, you would rather do that than whatever she comes up with so we can be all done here. The End. ( Blink dad making the wipe hands clean gesture)
She has been talking about repainting the Family room for months, I would LOVE some help with that…”
“Yes Sir.” I muttered with a matching grimace.
“Can I have it back?” I asked.
“I would say your dancing days are on hold, dear daughter, for the foreseeable future, as are your TV privliges.”
“Anything else? ” I asked.
“Why yes, there is. If you choose to dance through the house with wreckless abandon, next time, do it when your homework is finished and in your tennis shoes. And can you please try to be more like your Mother and less like me?”
“Doubtfull Deets, doubtful.”
With that carefully measured tween rhetort I skipped down the hall, crisis averted and I am still Dad’s fave.
I can live with the painting. Wonder if I can pick the color??
I chose to share this very personal exchange with my Daddy because it dawned on me that maybe someone that reads this does not understand what Morgan’ s Father (and family, but this reference is strictly male) needs from them.
He was her protector. He is her ceiling fixer.
You have to give him back what you took so he can fix it for her and their family.
He does not care who you are or what you may have done.
You can do this for them now. Have faith that anything can be fixed. Anything.

This is a link to an interesting local lawsuit (we have the Thomas Jefferson Center for Free Expression here in C’ville). Guy tried to have names and IP address of bloggers exposed who responded to one of the articles in the Hook. He was suing the Hook (editor Hawes Spencer) and a well respected local blogger and journalist, Waldo Jaquith.
I know you know how to protect yourself and all of us, but thought you might find this interesting.

The guy in the picture is not sgm…sgm is much older than the 19 year old boy in the picture…sgm is rich and crazy…
This picture was taken in 2007, rich not, crazy hmmm, can’t argue with you on that one.
When asked if that was him in the picture all he had to say was no. He didn’t, he said I was property of the state from Oct 7- Nov 9th. He is giving himself an alibi for something he was never accused of, or does he think the picture was taken in that timeframe. By the way he attended the search on Nov 6-8th even offered to drive other people in the Roanoke area. So if he or anyone gives conflicting stories they will be questioned. FWIW I don’t think he is smart enough to know anything about Morgans disappearance, clearly he would have outed himself by now.

RE #603. Yep, the Hook settled with Garrett and Waldo’s suit was dropped (I think, unless he’s still hammering away at it.) It was generally seen as frivolous and rediculous, but it must have been a strain on Waldo. At least there is now a precedent, if there wasn’t one before.

If SGM was restricted from driving for 6 months, with the exception of to/from work, how could he offer up rides to persons attending the MH search party???

SGM clearly has an antisocial personality disorder, better known as a sociopath. He possesses all of the characteristics of a sociopath and many of a psychopath.
Diagnostic Criteria ( DSM-IV™ )MADE EASY (so even SGM can understand it):
1. Since the age of fifteen there has been a disregard for and violation of the right’s of others, those right’s considered normal by the local culture, as indicated by at least three of the following:
A. Repeated acts that could lead to arrest (SGM sure has that box checked)
B. Conning for pleasure or profit, repeated lying, or the use of aliases (Check 2 for SGM)
C. Failure to plan ahead or being impulsive.
D. Repeated assaults on others (Yep for SGM)
E. Reckless when it comes to their or others safety.
F. Poor work behavior or failure to honor financial obligations (Check out the complaints on his Red, White, and Blue paving company)
G. Rationalizing the pain they inflict on others.
2. At least eighteen years in age.
3. Evidence of a Conduct Disorder, with its onset before the age of fifteen.
(conduct disorder is diagnosed in adolescence. While I do not have any information regarding the adolescent period of SGM, my educated guess would be that he was 100% an adolescent with conduct disorder. Sociopathic behaviors do not develop overnight)
4. Symptoms not due to another mental disorder.
Sociopaths have a grandiose sense of self. They feel entitled to certain things as “their right.” (SGM is constantly talking about friends and family being DEA/airborne rangers/whatevernonsensehehascomeupwithbcIhave losttrack, CLEARLY grandiose)
With that said, the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) lists both definitions (sociopath AND psychopath)together under the heading of Antisocial Personalities because they share some common traits.
Both the psychopath and sociopath fail to feel remorse or guilt. They appear to lack a conscience and are completely self-serving. They routinely disregard rules, social mores and laws, unmindful of putting themselves or others at risk.
Of the more distinguishing traits, some argue the sociopath to be less organized in his or her demeanor, nervous and easily agitated – someone likely living on the fringes of society, without solid or consistent economic support. A sociopath is more likely to spontaneously act out in inappropriate ways without thinking through the consequences. (Sound like SGM??)
Conversely, some argue that the psychopath tends to be extremely organized, secretive and manipulative. The outer personality is often charismatic and charming, hiding the real person beneath. Though psychopaths do not feel for others, they can mimic behaviors that make them appear normal. Upon meeting, one would have more of a tendency to trust a psychopath than a sociopath.
Because of the organized personality of the psychopath, he or she might have a tendency to be better educated than the average sociopath, who probably lacks the attentive skills to excel in school. (I think we can all surmise that SGM is not highly educated, so this trait doesn’t fit him like a glove, but all the rest do)
While psychopaths can fly under the radar of society, many maintaining families and steady work, a sociopath more often lacks the skills and drive for mimicking normal behavior, making “seemingly healthy” relationships and a stable home less likely. From a criminal standpoint, a sociopath’s crimes are typically disorganized and spontaneous, while the psychopath’s crimes are well planned out. For this reason, psychopaths are harder to catch than sociopaths, as the sociopath is more apt to leave ample evidence in his or her explosions of violence.
This is why SGM is so immature: The cerebral cortex of a sociopath is chronically underaroused, and some parts of it that should be active are strangely silent on an EEG. Some neurotransmitters are in short supply or missing entirely. So, parts of the brain do not EVER mature, remaining as they were in infancy. Others mature faster than normal to compensate, but not very well.
You know what, whether or not Morgan was drinking, whether or not she was acting irrational, how she was dressed, etc. matters none to me.
What matters to me is that we have a a fellow human being, young, beatiful girl missing, who should be home, planning her future, experiencing life, sharing those monumentals events of life with her mom and dad, falling in love, and all of those wonderful things so many take for granted; Parents in tremendous pain, needing their daughter, needing closure, missing her, overcome by grief and love, and someone with the answer that they won’t cough up.
How could ANY human being with a soul allow this suffering to conitnue one?
How does one’s conscious allow it?
How does one live with themselves?
I don’t get it.
I’m sure whoever did this has SOMEONE in their life who they love. Well, what if this happened to your loved one? How would you feel?

Thanks for the insight, retro. Would you mind expanding on it slightly? As you seem to know the age of the “19-year-old” guy in the picture with MH and Erin, do you know *him*? No need to share his name, of course, but if you could state for the record that you do *know/know of* the kid, it would go a long way. SGM’s doppelganger continues to be a mystery whom no one will own up to knowing, nor will anyone simply verify that he is not, in fact, SGM.

As intellectually and morally offensive as Pickles is, I no longer believe he has the metal capacity to pull off something as cunning as hiding Morgan. And it appears that *if* he was ever a POI in this case (but as B said, he was/is not), LE has enough on him that they could have arrested him for something else in order to question him.
As much as it pains me, I think we may need to pull the hook out of Pickles stuttering mouth and cast him back into the sea of remote possibilities, where his Megan’s-Law-bound life of litigation, wing consumption, Cowgirls cheering, record scratching, high-school cruisin’, and weed/meth* smoking can continue.
(*And if it’s not drugs that have devolved him to his current state of mind, maybe it’s Mad Cow Disease?)

So why do you have so many motor vehicle charges ? If your car is in such poor shape as it could not pass inspection — if you are a millionair, why not buy a new car that is capable of being inspected, or repair the car/vehicle you already own , then get a proper registration, get the problems w/ your suspended driver’s license updated and begin to lead a productive life and make a positive contribution to society?
It’s obvious from your posts everywhere you have some father-related issues. your father was a military person, and was, perhaps, very strict and hard on you. For that I am truly sorry.
Like Blink, I was so fortunate enough to have the most wonderful, caring man for a father — and my father’s father — grandfather — until he died when I was 10. My father died when I was 20 — more than 20 years ago — and I still miss his presence in my life and feel great sorrow that my child did not have the opportunity to know the kind and wonderful man his grandfather was.
If you have a problem w/ Blink, and/or, this website and any poster here — then the proper thing to do is to address those issues directly. Saying rude and disparaging remarks about her father — which did not phase her in the lease because Blink is a strong woman who knows the truth about her wonderful dad — but making rude comments as to her father is uncalled for, at the very least.
Shannon, we have gathered here for one purpose — to Help Find Morgan and get her home to her heartbroken and broken family.

Your father has also, sadly, passed away while you are still a relatively young man. Lead your life, and conduct yourself, in a manner that is a productive member of society w/ a thriving business, by your own account.
You’ve been in the past charged w/ possession of marijuanna. You live in the area close to where Morgan lived. If you know anything, about where kids like to party and things like that, please make your extended family proud of you. Give any information you know to your DEA cousin, who can pass it on to LE.

I figured that I’d better explain how I arrived at DW’s name before you all think I’m crazy. After reading a comment by Blink a few threads ago that DW’s last name might not be W but maybe M and later finding Sarah Sorcha’s “madras, but to my ears it’s your last name” reference in his myspace comments, I remembered seeing a comment between Blink and another poster saying something to the effect of – I would have changed it too-. (I can not, for the life of me find that comment anywhere and it has driven me crazy. I apologize.) Anyways, I started wondering what could be so bad? Is his name Madas and people keep mispronouncing it as Mad-ass? Maybe. Guess I wouldn’t want to be known as Mr. Mad-ass or Sgt. Mad-ass. (I believe PamTx suggested he has family in LE) Then I threw the name David Madas into google and came up with the human rights lawyer I referenced the other day, whose research alleges parts of the Communist Chinese Party participated (continues to participate?) in the practice of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. Admittedly, I am confused by his statements on the HFMDH fb page stating he saw and spoke with Morgan on Sunday Oct. 18th at 10pm as she was “trying to find her friends”. (no that date/time is not a typo) In the same conversation on fb he says he assumed she was looking for her friends. I have no idea what LE made of his statements if he did in fact call them in.
Thoughts? Be nice, please…Yoshi is shy, and sensitive and does not usually post on blogs/forums. I feel welcome and safe here, (thank you to all) but I don’t offer opinions and theories very often for a reason. If I’m wrong, I suspect Blink has let me go on w/ this David Madas thing as there is value in mentioning it on a victim’s advocacy forum. acho, I’m not sure we can ask SGM to prove a negative (“prove that is definitively not you”)—how would a person go about doing that anyway, I wonder. But I see from RN Mom’s pics above that he does have blue eyes, so that’s another thing that he shares with the dude in the photo.
What I most love about him is that he thinks it’s an insult to call someone skinny! Even the 5 lbs of monkey scat in a 10 lb bag is opposite of the way most people would say it. Weird. Perhaps he is dyslexic.

*If* they left Harrisonburg at 3:30 and arrived at JPJ at or about 6 PM — where did they go inbetween — Harrisonburg is about an hour or so from C-ville. I mean, it’s very logical they stopped and grabbed something to eat, which could take up time, and they were making a leisurely trip because they had time — but still — that leaves over an hour unaccounted for -
The one thing that bothers me in this whole situation is this — and I don’t know where I got this info, and I may be 100 % inaccurate — if I am, someone please correct me –
It’s my understanding of the timeline of events — early Sun. morning — around 8:30 AM — someone finds Morgan’s purse and strewn contents in the parking lot — Someone from the UVA police dept. contacts Dr.Harrington, who calls the “friends” around noon-ish to ask about Morgan missing —
this is where I’m lost — I’ve read/heard that “the friends” — I don’t know who are the “friends” at this juncture — get in Morgan’s car and drive back down to C-ville to look for her, and of course, find nothing.
Around 1:30 PM Dr. H reports Morgan missing —
So, if we believe the friends’ statements that someone got in Morgan’s car and drove it back down to C-ville on Sunday — either that was a ruse to cover their butts, or they were genuinely surprised that she is missing —
*if* that is the case, then OYE’s statement about possible OD or alcohol-related death flies out the window — in connection w/ the “friends” — or “concert attendees* — but opens the door for *other people’s* interaction w/ Morgan that night.
So, do “non-concert-attendees” have iron-clad alibis for that night/next day –
Blink, you probably cannot answer this, but do you know if any branch of LE has investigated the possible 10-18-09 (Sun. morning) sighting at Zion Crossroads ?
I mean, seriously, how many blonde-haired girls in a black mini skirt and boots are walking around in a convenience store in BF Egypt on a Sunday morning wearing a Pantera t-shirt ? Could this have been the reason for the “friends’ trip back down to C-ville ? Did they somehow hear from Morgan, came to get her, but whatever happened had happened by the time they actually get to C-ville or nearby area, they have knowledge, and they clammed up about it ?

I believe that was me, and it was said to B in jest during a brief exchange in the previous thread. From what I recall, it was in regard to the aggressively friendly (and yes, effervescent!) daily comments DW’s dear friend posts on his MS page, which I initially assumed came from his GF, but was surprised to learn via B that Sorcha was not in fact in a relationship with him (just likes to Share!) and that David “Winston,” as he was referred to, is not his real name.
… To which, I snarkily responded, “I’d probably change my name, too,” in reference to the force with which his friend was engaging him each day.
Long explanation made short: it was a meaningless comment.
Sorry to inadvertantly sidetrack you with that; but hey – you gained some valuable insight into the horrific, stomach-turning global industry that is blackmarket human-organ trafficking.

But if SGM or his buddy (who, real or imaginary, clearly is on this board)–or best of all Shannon’s new friend Erin Cole–could say who *is* in the photo, if not Shannon, then that would be a step.
I agree with all who believe Shannon does not appear capable of covering up something like this, but the facts remain he denied knowing Morgan, denied being in a picture with her when he clearly is, volunteered to help in searches, and built himself a rap sheet. J2K, does that give you pause or do you think the denials were simply self-protection, hoping to avoid association with this? (And if so, why would he be so vocal about participating in searches?)
Blink is he still writing today and you’ve cut him off, or has he moved on? It is Monday, after all, and I’m sure he is swamped with work …
Skyler, was it you who first mentioned (owing to a friend’s hunch) the olive-skinned, drug-dealing mystery man in C’ville? no i’m fine. but this girl, morgan harrington, went missing at the metallica concert. if you’ve seen the news. well i had spoken with her that night, and i just feel like i should’ve done more to help. i feel quite distraught about it.
this one may be for J2K or really anyone that wants to explain this to me…if mr. silverity, talked to Morgan that night then could someone ask him if Morgan seemed ‘irrational’? or do we have just another case of today’s youth(term used loosely) that seems to be out of touch with reality? can we add in mr. shannon, tarheelplaya and smartertthanyallcombined to this pot of fools?!
