Charlottesville, VA–The disappearance of Morgan Harrington, missing since October 17, 2009 is exhibiting the potential to reach a temperature that is currenlty encompassing the Northeast: VERY COLD.
Through the thousands of posts at blinkoncrime.com and numerous articles covering Morgan, it is clear that frustration in the lack of lead generation and ambiguous statements from the Virginia State Police are causing some to lack conviction Morgan will be found.
In a recent press conference by VSP, LE provided NO NEW information or progress regarding Morgan’s case. In a shift of posture by the Harrington family, Dr. Harrington has begun participating in online chat and sponsored an additional facebook site to help the efforts to find his daughter.
In fact, for the first time in 2.5 months, we know what kind of camera Morgan had with her the evening of the Metallica concert from his research.
In contrast, we have viewed footage and photos of her dear friends that have clearly moved on without the knowledge of their friends plight.
Girls will be girls you say? Before one person comes on here to tell me I am being too critical of these young women you should know that due to a fortunate Facebook update, describing these girls as Morgan’s friends is entirely generous.
Furthermore, if you happen to be one of the parents that has provided booze for underage minors captured on digital for all to see you may wish to take a peek at what is on your daughter’s social sites.
Have you thought about what it would be like to be Gil or Dan while your linin’ it up and throwin’ em back WITH your kids?
Fortunately, this is not the focus today. I do not feel Morgan’s friends did anything to directly cause her fate. They are more “ME” than frienemy, that is evident.
Gil Harrington, posting on the families site findmorgan.com, wrote one of the most eloquent and courageous posts from the Mother of a missing child I have ever read.
The snowfall is beautiful but still disturbing – melancholy. Wonder if Morgan is cold – is snow falling on her face – or is her face covered by leaves in a shallow grave being hidden by the snow. I glance out the window and see the crimson blaze of a cardinal at the bird feeder – my heart leaps for a second at the beauty – then I think its feathers look like blood in the snow. Is that what Morgan’s blood looks like in the snow? See how the pitfalls are everywhere – even at the bird feeder.
In a somewhat angst-ridden moment, a poster on blinkoncrime.com suggested any and all witnesses in this case should be subject to repeated Barry Manilow songs until they confess.
It jogged a memory for me that reminded me that I am proudly my Father’s daughter. Morgan is Dan Harrington’s daughter.
Maybe someone, somewhere, has just not approached that perspective.

Barry holds a special place in the heart of my family. When I was a kid I used to play dress up with my Mom’s clothes. If a pair of her way-too-big-for-me heels was “done”, she would let me cut off the ankle straps and dance around in them as slides.
One afternoon, when I should have been doing my homework, I was blaring Copa Cabana in my Parents study dressed like a thriftshop showgirl and when ” Who could ask for more…at the Copa” part came on, I kicked like a 12 year old Rockette and launched my “slide/RPG” into the ceiling.
There it stayed.
I threw everything I could find at that shoe to dislodge it. Nothing.
Except for the new marks on the scalloped ceiling.
Later, when unbeknownst to me, my Dad was reading his 12 daily newspapers in the study, I thought I might try another idea.
I jumped as hard as I could at the spot upstairs above where the slutslipper was lodged.
It worked on the 3rd try.
How do I know?
I heard a “S o n o f a …..” , then something that sounded like a combination of my first and middle names with a swear word interjected that was rising in tone and volume, and now coming my way.
As I hit the hallway to head to the other direction or squeeze myself unnaturally under something, there He was
My Dad, evidence in hand, smiling wryly form ear to ear.
“Yours I presume, young lady,” his forearm outstretched gently with the nail to my coffin in his palm.
I responded .. “What makes you say that?
Could be ketchup or mustards..”
(Lame editors note: do NOT ask, my sisters and I had bathing suits that matched when we were little that were red, yellow and white, respectively, it stuck to this day, I was Mayo)
He replied .. ” Because I know, this weekend, when you fish out your overalls and help me fix the ceiling before your Mother notices, you would rather do that than whatever she comes up with so we can be all done here. The End. ( Blink dad making the wipe hands clean gesture)
She has been talking about repainting the Family room for months, I would LOVE some help with that…”
“Yes Sir.” I muttered with a matching grimace.
“Can I have it back?” I asked.
“I would say your dancing days are on hold, dear daughter, for the foreseeable future, as are your TV privliges.”
“Anything else? ” I asked.
“Why yes, there is. If you choose to dance through the house with wreckless abandon, next time, do it when your homework is finished and in your tennis shoes. And can you please try to be more like your Mother and less like me?”
“Doubtfull Deets, doubtful.”
With that carefully measured tween rhetort I skipped down the hall, crisis averted and I am still Dad’s fave.
I can live with the painting. Wonder if I can pick the color??
I chose to share this very personal exchange with my Daddy because it dawned on me that maybe someone that reads this does not understand what Morgan’ s Father (and family, but this reference is strictly male) needs from them.
He was her protector. He is her ceiling fixer.
You have to give him back what you took so he can fix it for her and their family.
He does not care who you are or what you may have done.
You can do this for them now. Have faith that anything can be fixed. Anything.

I forgot that when I was looking around, a long time ago, I thought WT lived in Stanardsville- I believe this info was,at one time, on his FB or somewhere. Are you sure the WT in Palmyra is the same one? I guess if we are both correct, he could have moved in the past couple of months.

When there are suspicious fires — some lunatic was burning down churches about four or five years ago in Richmond — police always videotape the ‘scene’ because often arsonists will come to the scene of the crime to “watch”

There is something well placed in Dr. Harrington’s comment’s , I also feel the timing was no accident . . The kindness is apparent in his words. The November comment has my mind churning as I am sure it has many others as well .
What I do know about “well educated” seasoned psychiatrist is they can write a book and say absolutely nothing , or write three sentences and say everything . “they” can be a master of well placed word’s . I also pay attention closely what people don’t say . UVA seems to be a hard three letters to type at times .
I have said from early on we will get more pertinent information from the Harrington’s than anywhere else . I know it is unproductive but the misinformation /lack of follow up and failure to engage the public by LE from the beginning is not in my realm of understanding right now . I can understand this behavior in say a murder case . Most crimes have a crime scene , the victim(s) and time is not so much of the essence . When a child is missing and LE ask the public to recall very important details , details that fade very fast . especially when those details were part of an event that included thousand’s of people , alcohol , excitement , loud music ,heavy traffic and so on , sensory level’s are in overdrive but focused on fun . Waiting weeks to months to engage the public looking for a very different set of event’s with Morgan in the beginning has been detrimental to this case as I see it now . I also will NOT back off of the fact it appears to me that UVA and JPJA are stonewalling and guilty of the same behavior many collages do in cases like this . PROTECTING THEIR ASS ! Understandable to a point , but not acceptable to me , when we have a child missing , NOTHING ELSE MATTERS ! NOTHING .
SO with all that off my chest . Was Dr Harrington trying to tell us something . lead us in a different direction , maybe somewhere we have moved away from . Maybe lead us away from the friends and put a POI in the picture ? I don’t know . I have basically come to realize from LE that everything else is not important from that evening , after I deciphered what all WAS NOT IMPORTANT , basically nothing else was left to be important . It also seems it’s not important to LE that a huge campus and community possibly has an active psychopath on the loose either . MIND BOGGLING this has not been put out to the public and has to be reported by a family of a missing Girl .
Was Dr. Harrington trying to tell us something important ?
With that said, I am going to look over police reports and see what happened in November . I am also going to refresh myself over the coming and going’s of Jamil Tucker and Assane Sene . When were they “in” the university ?…………………..”in the university” . May be nothing , may be everything .

Back when we discussed the called-off wedding in a previous thread (the wedding had been scheduled for October 11), I went through the wedding gift registries. Only one item had been purchased–a 20-piece knife set from Macy’s. (Assuming I found the right couple; WT with a middle initial I.)
The registries seemed a little “off”–requesting for example only 2 5-piece place settings of china, while needing three Rowenta pro steamers.
The whole thing actually made me wonder if it was part of some game, and the knife set was one of the clues.

Okay — after breathing and reading J2K’s post — I was reading someone else’s post that I copied today that said he left — I had asked that question back in Dec. when Liz and I were freaking out over this guy — Liz is the one who found the Metallica page w/ Morgan, Sara and WT’s posts on there —
He still creeps me out — His FB and Myspace pages are down — but maybe on Twitter he was talking about the marriage did not take place — I don’t know if he still twitters —
but it was his response to the poster saying his FB page was creepy that was even more creepy — he didn’t say: I’m not creepy — he said: I have a 2 y/o son I adore and I work w/ disabled persons –
Which set off my meter because who does Morgan work w/ ? And Morgan’s dad is a psychiatrist who used to work at UVA —

Looking at the map, it appears that Standardsville and Ruckersville are off RTs 29/33, are adjacent, and probably are both used for addresses, sometime… ?
I believe Palmyra runs off 64E from Charlottesville; thus, they are all within the Charlottesville area.
All of these are about the same amount of driving time from Charlottesville—15-20 minutes?
A person can have more than one address listed if they’ve moved around and/or if family is living in one of the areas, such as a mother.

LE has not responded to Dr. Harrington publicly alerting the Charlottesville and Albemarle communities that they are not safe as there is a predator.
Why do you suppose that is?
I am not sure what your referring to. If you are questioning why LE has not reacted to Dr. Harrington’s sentiment, I would expect it to be because they do not share it, or feel somehow doing so compromises an active investigation.

I’m not stalking this guy and I don’t want to be his nightmare, but I did check our phone book a while back for his name. Found the one in Fluvanna and the one in Ruckersville, I believe. I assumed one was the father and one the son. That’s why I wondered where he was working as an EMT…thought it might help identify him.
I know my county highschools as I’ve been watching AA football games for years. You go up 29, go through Ruckersville and go left on 33 to Standardsville. William Monroe High School. Greene County. Police are there to keep the WMHS fans on their side of the stadium.
And yes, I’ve seen people mention 33 as a possible way these guys might have gone to and from Harrisonburg, but no, I don’t believe they would have. Not safe, dark, etc. I would not let my own kids go this route.

Sky, I enlarged the shirt on WT FB page and it is hard to tell, but I think it says Greene Co. Try and enlarge it and see if that is what you get. I just went on Greene County Rescue squad web site and the shirt looks the same. I believe he vols for Greene Co.

There was a post made regarding a supposed abduction this morning by DKV over on FB. She says one of the abductors lived close to C’ville. She heard this news on a scanner…and her daughter is in LE and her friend is a State Cop in the county over… But below is a partial comment DKV made to her own post:
We have a family friend who is a Va. State Trooper in a very near by County and I have contacted him. He said they are keeping it very hush hush about Morgan and her case. As far as this lattest abduction I have a call into him but have heard nothing back yet. I will sure let it be known if I find out anything at all. Just odd about an abduction so close to the JPJ area I think!

Wow, that is pretty interesting. Please don’t share what I’m about to tell you with anyone else as it could jeopardize the investigation but I’ve been informed two tickets for Metallica we’re found on Craigslist for the same night and row/section as Morgan. What she was vulnerable to was a predator who was in the University and Chalottesville community on October 17 a well as in November. The Chalottesville community should not turn a blind eye to what occured as it is likely this type of abomination could occur again. A predator took our daughter and we want her and the predator found!”
Dr. Harrington misspelled Charlottesville twice – - “Chalottesville”.
Either this was a typing mistake (twice) or perhaps a reference to Chalotte, NC.

Dakota, excellent post, and I agree Morgan’s Dad said quite a bit with as few words as possible.
As I commented to Dr. Harrington, I am finding it extremely hard to know in what direction to post. I believe Dr. Harrington was asking us, subtly, to remember that Morgan is a vulnerable young lady that fell into the hands of a predator, regardless of any percieved circumstances, at no fault of her own.

Tread lightly, for he and his family’s souls are wounded. I will do my best to be mindful of Morgan and her family’s plight.

Is there reason to be concerned with this guy? Are you concerned with this guy? I just want to be careful. I will jump on board in looking into WT if you think it is merited.
I think that LE has had this information for some time. If this gentlemen is involved, you can count on LE having monitored his every keystroke. Same with SGM.
