Charlottesville, VA–The disappearance of Morgan Harrington, missing since October 17, 2009 is exhibiting the potential to reach a temperature that is currenlty encompassing the Northeast: VERY COLD.
Through the thousands of posts at blinkoncrime.com and numerous articles covering Morgan, it is clear that frustration in the lack of lead generation and ambiguous statements from the Virginia State Police are causing some to lack conviction Morgan will be found.
In a recent press conference by VSP, LE provided NO NEW information or progress regarding Morgan’s case. In a shift of posture by the Harrington family, Dr. Harrington has begun participating in online chat and sponsored an additional facebook site to help the efforts to find his daughter.
In fact, for the first time in 2.5 months, we know what kind of camera Morgan had with her the evening of the Metallica concert from his research.
In contrast, we have viewed footage and photos of her dear friends that have clearly moved on without the knowledge of their friends plight.
Girls will be girls you say? Before one person comes on here to tell me I am being too critical of these young women you should know that due to a fortunate Facebook update, describing these girls as Morgan’s friends is entirely generous.
Furthermore, if you happen to be one of the parents that has provided booze for underage minors captured on digital for all to see you may wish to take a peek at what is on your daughter’s social sites.
Have you thought about what it would be like to be Gil or Dan while your linin’ it up and throwin’ em back WITH your kids?
Fortunately, this is not the focus today. I do not feel Morgan’s friends did anything to directly cause her fate. They are more “ME” than frienemy, that is evident.
Gil Harrington, posting on the families site findmorgan.com, wrote one of the most eloquent and courageous posts from the Mother of a missing child I have ever read.
The snowfall is beautiful but still disturbing – melancholy. Wonder if Morgan is cold – is snow falling on her face – or is her face covered by leaves in a shallow grave being hidden by the snow. I glance out the window and see the crimson blaze of a cardinal at the bird feeder – my heart leaps for a second at the beauty – then I think its feathers look like blood in the snow. Is that what Morgan’s blood looks like in the snow? See how the pitfalls are everywhere – even at the bird feeder.
In a somewhat angst-ridden moment, a poster on blinkoncrime.com suggested any and all witnesses in this case should be subject to repeated Barry Manilow songs until they confess.
It jogged a memory for me that reminded me that I am proudly my Father’s daughter. Morgan is Dan Harrington’s daughter.
Maybe someone, somewhere, has just not approached that perspective.

Barry holds a special place in the heart of my family. When I was a kid I used to play dress up with my Mom’s clothes. If a pair of her way-too-big-for-me heels was “done”, she would let me cut off the ankle straps and dance around in them as slides.
One afternoon, when I should have been doing my homework, I was blaring Copa Cabana in my Parents study dressed like a thriftshop showgirl and when ” Who could ask for more…at the Copa” part came on, I kicked like a 12 year old Rockette and launched my “slide/RPG” into the ceiling.
There it stayed.
I threw everything I could find at that shoe to dislodge it. Nothing.
Except for the new marks on the scalloped ceiling.
Later, when unbeknownst to me, my Dad was reading his 12 daily newspapers in the study, I thought I might try another idea.
I jumped as hard as I could at the spot upstairs above where the slutslipper was lodged.
It worked on the 3rd try.
How do I know?
I heard a “S o n o f a …..” , then something that sounded like a combination of my first and middle names with a swear word interjected that was rising in tone and volume, and now coming my way.
As I hit the hallway to head to the other direction or squeeze myself unnaturally under something, there He was
My Dad, evidence in hand, smiling wryly form ear to ear.
“Yours I presume, young lady,” his forearm outstretched gently with the nail to my coffin in his palm.
I responded .. “What makes you say that?
Could be ketchup or mustards..”
(Lame editors note: do NOT ask, my sisters and I had bathing suits that matched when we were little that were red, yellow and white, respectively, it stuck to this day, I was Mayo)
He replied .. ” Because I know, this weekend, when you fish out your overalls and help me fix the ceiling before your Mother notices, you would rather do that than whatever she comes up with so we can be all done here. The End. ( Blink dad making the wipe hands clean gesture)
She has been talking about repainting the Family room for months, I would LOVE some help with that…”
“Yes Sir.” I muttered with a matching grimace.
“Can I have it back?” I asked.
“I would say your dancing days are on hold, dear daughter, for the foreseeable future, as are your TV privliges.”
“Anything else? ” I asked.
“Why yes, there is. If you choose to dance through the house with wreckless abandon, next time, do it when your homework is finished and in your tennis shoes. And can you please try to be more like your Mother and less like me?”
“Doubtfull Deets, doubtful.”
With that carefully measured tween rhetort I skipped down the hall, crisis averted and I am still Dad’s fave.
I can live with the painting. Wonder if I can pick the color??
I chose to share this very personal exchange with my Daddy because it dawned on me that maybe someone that reads this does not understand what Morgan’ s Father (and family, but this reference is strictly male) needs from them.
He was her protector. He is her ceiling fixer.
You have to give him back what you took so he can fix it for her and their family.
He does not care who you are or what you may have done.
You can do this for them now. Have faith that anything can be fixed. Anything.

Now, to add to the mix a bit — My accident in 2005 was a fire accident — my lungs were toast — I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, and the pain was unbearable — I begged for pain meds — which they were using morphine I found out later — i had a friend who was a chief resident/med student in another depart who came to visit every day — I begged him to ask them for more pain meds — he did — and got sent to the dean’s office for interfering —
much much later when I was able to read and comprehend again, I got my medical records — the attending’s notes addressed that very problem — I was on a respirator and if you give too much morphine, it can cause pulmonary failure — because my med student buddy was specializing in a different field altogether, administering morphine is not his field — he may not have known the drugs they were giving me — he didn’t read my chart — or have known of the potential fatal side effects –
same thing w/ anyone — if Morgan had been given a benzodiazepine — which was the drug given in Dane’s case — the young man who was away from home and found dead in an alley — if she was given that drug to initially subdue her — and she started to come out of it — I know you’re not supposed to mix the drug w/ alcohol — if she was given another does of morphine — it could have caused her to stop breathing — and if she wasn’t taken to an ER immediately, you can administer CPR until you’re blue in the face — no pun intended — but it’s not enough — ie, michael jackson — they gave him cpr for over an hour — he was gone …
our boy WT is no longer an EMT — something he previously had taken great pride in — do we know if he were let go “quietly” — another of his FB friends has the same last name, and his pix is standing in front of a white resuce vehicle –
I also want to address MSL — I know she is quite sensitive to people being accused and dissected not just here but everywhere — I do appreciate your feelings and am trying to keep that in mind w/ my posts — but I honestly have to say — this guy gives me the creeps and always has —
If he is totally innocent and has unjustly been caught up in Morganmania, and unjustly accused by me, I will personally apologize to him on this forum and send him an apology in private.
But as to this particular individual, like Thomas in Biblical days, until I put my fingers in the holes, he’s at the top of my list.

It is disorienting to travel to a big city like NYC; so much stimulation and busyness to contend with. Because Morgan is missing, there is also an aspect of discomfort when I am reminded just how big the world is – how can we find a needle in this huge haystack? Somehow we must. I cannot contemplate a world without her.
Many times each day my heart leaps reflexively at glimpses of pretty blond girls on the street – could it be Morgan? Then they turn their head and the face is different. I cannot help looking at them with hunger.
Being apart from Dan on this trip has also been hard for both of us. We rely on the assurance and constancy of our relationship for sustenance. I feel unmoored without Dan near me. The sacrifice of this separation was necessary though to shore up our remaining child. We always have, and will continue to sacrifice whatever is necessary, to help both Morgan and Alex.
Alex has been hit just as hard as we have and doesn’t have a foundational relationship to draw on like Dan and I have together. Still, the devotion of a parent towards a child is phenomenally strong and provides a core of certainty that can be drawn on when life proves difficult. Morgan, you have our unending devotion – draw from this strength to create a way home.

Also here is a posting by WT about the game that Skyler uncovered on his FB, eatbrains eyze or something like that. He is kinda creepy, and what kindof a game is this???

I agree that WT is extremely suspicious, but I don’t know that I would be overly concerned about this particular game or quote. Zombies are actually very “cool” right now, and zombies allegedly need to eat brains to stay “alive”. Here in Richmond, for the past couple of spring’s at least, there has been a “Zombie Walk” through Carytown. People get dressed up as zombies and walk around pretending to look for brains to eat. I think this is actually a nationwide event. The movie “Zombieland” this past summer only added to the zombie enthusiasm. It’s a pop culture thing right now.
Now if WT thinks he actually IS a zombie and really does need to eat brains, well, that becomes a different conversation alltogether.
I hope that WT has been check into. Do we know for sure that he was even looked at? Call me pessimistic, but I have seen alot of people complaining on several sites that they were not even called back when they called the tip line. I hope if LE did look into him, it just wasn’t a five minute “oh he is a volunteer for the rescue squad and seems like a nice guy” and that was it. LE hasn’t exactly run a smooth investigation, in my personal opinion.
Okay, am I going crazy or what? I followed the WT link and on his friend list I followed it to on there was Raeb Odep and on his friend list I found Pedro Behr, here is where the crazy part is but is this SGM????

mjh, pedo’s page(s) gave me a sick feeling too. They may not be related to Morgan’s case (even though her photo is being used) but they definitely cross the line for acceptable humor. Preying on children?—I’m sorry, there is no humor there. I hope this guy is posting from a jail cell. The best thing to do is probably *not* give him the attention he is craving.
To answer your question, I found him very easily. I was trying to pull up Morgan’s facebook page to scan the people on her friends list. When I did a search for Morgan Dana Harrington within Facebook the fake page is the only result that came up.
It’s possible P-Bear might be LE working undercover and trying to reel in a pedophile or like-minded individuals.

Catch — what a great catch on that video — how’d you find that — and it is disturbing to me — because of their ages — at 16, 17 adn 18, my kid and his crowd are into ‘zombies’ and in fact, Carytown, an historic artsy village in the City has a zombie walk everywhere year and they went, all dressed up like zombies — the boys since he was in 8th grade — 13 y/o — were all big into making movies especially using a new kind of bb gun called an airsoft gun — but these guys were 25ish —
also, this is what I don’t understand about the Metallica concert — why on earth would he leave ? — it’s obvious 2 years ago his friend, at least, was into Metallica — at or about 10 PM, the time of his alleged departure — Metallica was just getting started — it makes no sense to me — (except for you know what)
this is OT, but if you click on the Metallica video from the 10-17 concert — that is James Hetfield on stage w/ the orange weird shaped guitar — my kid told me that fire thing was near the beginning and he could feel the heat from the pyrotechnics — also — I had to mute the computer — but in the corner where James starts to sing — one of those fist being thrown into the air in time with the “music” belongs to my child — which does answer and corroborate Dee’s statement that they drove home and went straight to bed, they were exhausted —
my guys passed out 15 mins. past c-ville — they had not slept the night before, they were too excited — and this was a physical concert — both were hoarse when they got in the car — they had been standing continuously since I dropped them off around 4:30 — never sat or even looked for their seats — went straight to the stage and claimed their spot when they were first let in — “tag-teamed” going to get food and/or bathroom — and jumped around all during the concert and had to stand and wait for the upper tiers to empty before they could get out — my son called me at 11:42 as he was walking out of JPJ and stayed continuously on the phone until the brief walk to the car —
they got in the car — both grabbed something to drink out of the “Mommie cooler” which wasn’t so lame then — and something to eat out of the Mommie picnic basket — again, not so lame — showed me all their treasures — helped me navigate “backwards” from the mapquest directions — relived their joy and thrill of Metallica playing an older, but favorite, song that hadn’t been on any of the other tours — and were gone by 12:15 — we dropped the other kid off in Richmond — then my son was back asleep until we pulled into my driveway about an hour later — he staggered in the house, fell into bed — and didn’t get up until almost 1 PM — so Dee’s statement that they were exhausted made sense to me …
but what is even more disturbing from that video is — they’re walking out by a body of water in the middle of nowhere — is this private property, perhaps owned by one of the families — if so, unless LE has a specific warrant for that property, it will never be searched — and how would you even identify it from any other undeveloped wooded property surrounding C-vlle, w/ the exception of the rock that juts off the shore — but if this is private property — only people who have been there and stood on that rock would even know about it — which just makes me feel even worse than before —
I do not know the answer to this question is why I’m asking — only what I see on TV — In Va., can a person be held by the po po (I love that term, I just learned it in the Medea movies recently — and makes me laugh every time) anyway, can a person be held for 24 hrs. for “questioning” w/out being charged ?

C-vlle is a beautiful and historic community — one of my favorite places on earth — the people I’ve always encountered there are warm and friendly — just like you —
there was one lawyer I worked with for a lot of years, and he always volunteered to do the C-vlle case work and would hire me to tag along — because we loved having lunch or dinner in that restaurant that I think is closed now — I don’t remember the exact name, but it was the Warehouse or Hardware store or something they converted — downstairs was a jewelry store — the food was great and atmosphere wonderful
My son’s best friend recently moved to Roanoke to start college in jan. My son went up to visit last week and stayed a few days and they drove back to Richmond last weekend — he’s already asked me to borrow the car to drive back up — he’s been bitten by the beauty of the mountains bug, too — I told him there’s a beautiful scenic view you can pull into and see for miles and he stunned me by saying they actually stopped on the way back —
The area is simply above my price range, but if I could afford to live anywhere, I would choose there — and stalk Monticello — ha : )

Wow, that is pretty interesting. Please don’t share what I’m about to tell you with anyone else as it could jeopardize the investigation but I’ve been informed two tickets for Metallica we’re found on Craigslist for the same night and row/section as Morgan. #1375,that was the gist of the craigslist postings in the rants and raves section,september,october,they have time expired,but it was an agrument between someones who had been mugged by thugs and (supposedly) the thugs answering,it seemed to be students and local thugs and the thugs threatened the students”wait til you see what we have in store for you”,i dismissed as in what thug would have a computer and post and gloat about about a crime publicly,but i had no doubt the person claiming to be upset about muggings was legit,it was the mugger answering that i thought was faux, if i were le i’d check it out though( i mention this in case they are monitoring still),but i wonder if there is still a problem with campus police sharing jurisdiction with local le,this disjoint was an issue that came in light in the late 80′s and i thought it had been worked out.if this still is an issue on campuses i see this as a root cause.

Morgan has been missing three months today , eternity to me .
I think it’s time for me to revisit I.O.U …..the The Institute of Unlearning . This case has went from COLD to FROZEN .
The underground chatter about Morgan in and around the C-ville area is almost non existent that I am seeing or hearing . I frequent the downtown mall area on weekend’s , I find much disappointment in what I am hearing , I should say what I am not hearing . People are moving on with their lives ,Hence based solely on my opinion the timing of Dr Harrington’s post here and other places . He has a full understanding and unfortunately a crash course in how missing person’s cases work with the media and general public . Again , to make noise point toward something ….CRIME ? To keep Morgan’s name alive as it fades , there needs to be some noise . Watht the focus on crime in Charlottesville . I call it prodding . It can be very effective to get some people up off their ass .
I feel deeply for this family .

yeah ,i just went over to findmorgan and read,this is what bugs me ,the two usa campus crime article links i posted awhile back ,they only quote the campus police(and that was a major city local newspaper not the school paper),one was how the school handles rape cases and one was a slew of recent campus armed robberies. now in the rape incidents at usa,uva,and the research by publicconcern,the school judiciary board handles it, wth? why not the da? ok if its student to student ,but if you have the community coming on campus to commit crime then its le jurisdiction.imo

I truly do not think they are connected, nor do I think the handle-bar mustachioed guy in the profile picture is Pickles. I do however think this is a deeply disturbed person.

I do not have facebook, and cannot usually view any of the links people post here, and therefore, I am unable to see a lot of the pictures. But, I did search WT and was able to view one picture of him. He is wearing sunglasses, and his hair is very short.
I have not been able to see/find any other pictures of WT.
If anyone can post a link to pictures of WT that is not a facebook link, I would really appreciate it.

Ross, you’re right, and I felt bad about mentioning Louis’s drug problem without any verification. This might be one of the articles with information that was lodged in my brain. Read the comments.
Small towns, rural areas, high unemployment…this is going on everywhere. Meth, fentanol, as Skyler mentions, benzodiazepine, heroin…it’s all now easy and cheap to get. I wasn’t picking on Louisa, I know you live there and love it, it is beautiful there…but there are drugs there among the poor. Same in Fluvanna, Greene, pockets of Albemarle, Augusta, and all throughout Virginia. I’ll bring up Galax again because I know and love the place well…all but one of the factories have closed. There aren’t many places left to work, but the people you do see working in fast food all have rotten teeth. Meth mouth. The poor are usually pushed from the cities…it is expensive to live in C’ville and Albemarle County. See what I’m getting at? I don’t think it’s helpful, in this case either, to try to push Charlottesville to the top of the National Most Dangerous and Worst Places to Live list. That’s not going to find Morgan.
I still believe Morgan was contacted or made contact with someone she met online or at an earlier concert. This is the person responsible for her disappeaarance. WT is looking good for it, or someone very like him. He’s from Greene.

For all of those concerned about the Raeb Odep/Pedo Bear, I don’t think you need to be; it’s just humor that most will find to be in bad taste. (in reality, that’s ironic because pedo bear is used to call out people expressing creepy feelings about kids). Anyway, it’s just noise you can prolly ignore.
As for WT, i hope it’s him because he’s one of the first suspects on the list, but I am pretty sure that since WE were on to him, LE was on to him sooner. And if he ain’t in custody, I dunno if he’s implicated. It’s been a realllllly long time to wait out a POI.)So he’s prolly not the guy. Also, back to Dr. Harringtons post, I think Dr. Harrington wanted to let us know where he stood with Morgan. He calls and identifies himself as “Morgans dad”, ( Not Dr. Harrington) and that Morgan was only vunerable to the perp. Perhaps not concentrating so much on Morgan behavior that night, ( I have been guilty of that) impaired or not, some of this material/posts are probably very hard/painful for him to read and digest. But focus on other aspects/venues of the case perhaps? We just need to be sensitive and very respectful of his heart and Gil, Alex too. These people are in pain. I am not saying we are being insensitive, but Dr Harringtons presence was very humbling to me. Whatever we say about Morgan on this site, should be viewed as also being directly said to Dr. Harrington and Gil.
Mosiac, Eply, and Dar: I think that creepy FB “Pedro” or whatever it is called, should be reported to FB. I think it has been scanned in, because when I click on the link it it takes me there, but I can’t click on any links. The FB police prohibit any false identitiy and impersonations. I would think this FB could easily get shut down because Morgans picture is used in an exploitive manner, and this is also very disrespectful of a missing persons case.

In the fictitious FB exchange with notMorgan, he uses 404ed. Had to go to Urban Dictionary again for reminder–it means ‘error, not found, forbidden access,’ etc., referencing computer parlance.
Skyler, some of the online translators are pretty good if you want to understand your ‘friend’s’ posts.
Not often accurate but you can get the sense of the phrase.
I think that Dan H’s typo was due to thinking aloud. That means voice. If he pronounces the city, “Chawlottesville,” then it would be spelled, if thinking aloud, ‘Chalottesville.” He obviously knows how to spell the city where he works, but his head was full of his/our Morgan. He was ‘speaking’ from his heart, not necessarily from his left-brain.

Not sure what to think about the “rape = gang initiation” thing. Usually those are rumors you can debunk on Snopes. I suppose LE could use that story to put the fear of God into freshman, whether or not it is true. On the other hand, M13 is tagging all over the NOVA suburbs (godforsaken Springfield and Leesburg).

Like many of you,I find myself reading here every day. Morgan has captured my heart much like Caylee did.
You guys amaze me with your skills at analysis and research.
After reading all that you’ve uncovered about the EMT, etc. could it be as simple as Morgan’s injury causing her to seek medical help and thus becoming entangled in a situation much like the spider attracts the fly to its web?
It makes perfect sense to me that were I injured, possibly bleeding, and someone associated with first aid training offered assistance, why would I not trust that offer? Is there a record or log kept of mileage and/or trips a privately operated ambulance makes?
As I recall, someone mentions an ambulance passing them as they were going to pick up children from the arena. (I can’t recall the poster but it may have been Skyler.) As I remember, the poster also said that according to the timeline, she possibly only missed Morgan by a few minutes.
I guess my question might concern what an EMT or medical person might do if they happened upon someone who had recently been injured. Would they not offer assistance? Perhaps the comparison to Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events is not far off the mark.
What started out as a good deed may have turned tragic. However, if that is the case, why hasn’t the person manned up and told the truth? I recall at one time the theory was that a good guy may have turned bad. If that is the case, I pray the good overcomes the evil and the person becomes totally burdened by his conscience. It’s time for Morgan to get home to those who love her.

Oh, I can’t believe that I forgot to mention this in my previous post Skler. I forgot to mention/comment on your tapeworm analogy! YES. I do think he does want us to keep examining this further. Perhaps WT, SGM. Dr. Harrington reminds me of an old boss that I had years ago when I was in sales. He was ou DM. We had the most motivated sales force because of his demeanor, and style. Quiet charisma and class. We called him the gentle giant that carried a big stick. Man of few words, but when he did speak it meant something. So, Dr. Harrington spoke to us. It definitely means something eh? We should keep digging.

This occurred to me reading up thread — can’t remember now — but I think the poster was talking about if this was family-owned land, the family alerting LE — and I got to thinking —
If you found out your kinfolk — but especially your child — was responsible for Morgan’s disappearance and fate — would you — could you — turn them in ?
My child’s gig wasn’t stealing — it was lying —
He’d tell the teacher some story about why he didn’t do his homework, usually copying those spelling words 5xs each, and I’d haul him up to the teacher and made him tell the truth about what really happened – (or didn’t happen).
I have friends who have turned their kids into store managers for swiping a candy bar (as I would have done) –
but let’s just say worst-case here — murder — you’re out walking the dog in the back 40 and come across a black knee-high boot — then a mini skirt and other evidence — then maybe “the” noquestionaboutit evidence —
would you make that phone call to LE knowing your child might spend the rest of their life in jail ?
Honestly, I would “hope” I would — but it’s so far out of my realm of what I believe my child is capable of I don’t know — what I “think” I would do is HIRE not just call, but hire, an attorney — even with all of that incriminating evidence in my scenario, it could have still been an accident — but Blink made this statement back in Nov., and I agree w/ her — the time for claiming this was an accident is coming to a close —

I believe LoG is a local band, correct? Maybe WT or whoever bumps into Morgan sees she is a bit “out of it” and he sees his chance to get a little friendly with a girl who ordinarily wouldn’t give him the time of day. Suppose he tells her that he knows LoG and if she meets him outside they can go to their bus and visit and he having worked there can get her back in? Has LoG and their roadies plus the local guys they may have used been questioned backward and forward? WT and his acting buddy seem like they could fit this part especially if she kinda knew them and they are the ones to “give her a ride back home”. Your being awfully quiet on this B. I hear your wheels spinning a million miles a minute.

In the same time period of Cassandra Morton and Morgan, a woman went missing, I believe in her 40′s or so. She was last seen early in the morning, at a gas station/store, getting into her WHITE CAR heading for work. She never arrived at work. I think this was also in the Lynchburg area. Can’t remember her name – - something like Millie.
Maybe your white car sighting should be reported.
In the mean time, I will try to find the article (tried to find it a while back, but couldn’t). Had the make of car and her employer name.

WT has to be aware of that level of confidentiality in both his employment and when he volunteered as an EMT —
so had he already given this info to LE — even if these were Morgan’s tickets, she would have had a better chance to sell them at VT or JMU than a craig’s list posting in C-vlle — ‘so don’t tell anybody it might impede the investigation’ sounds to me like he’s self-grandizing again — “I am important; i have ‘secret’ information about this case, which I’ll share just w/ you”
