Charlottesville, VA–The disappearance of Morgan Harrington, missing since October 17, 2009 is exhibiting the potential to reach a temperature that is currenlty encompassing the Northeast: VERY COLD.
Through the thousands of posts at blinkoncrime.com and numerous articles covering Morgan, it is clear that frustration in the lack of lead generation and ambiguous statements from the Virginia State Police are causing some to lack conviction Morgan will be found.
In a recent press conference by VSP, LE provided NO NEW information or progress regarding Morgan’s case. In a shift of posture by the Harrington family, Dr. Harrington has begun participating in online chat and sponsored an additional facebook site to help the efforts to find his daughter.
In fact, for the first time in 2.5 months, we know what kind of camera Morgan had with her the evening of the Metallica concert from his research.
In contrast, we have viewed footage and photos of her dear friends that have clearly moved on without the knowledge of their friends plight.
Girls will be girls you say? Before one person comes on here to tell me I am being too critical of these young women you should know that due to a fortunate Facebook update, describing these girls as Morgan’s friends is entirely generous.
Furthermore, if you happen to be one of the parents that has provided booze for underage minors captured on digital for all to see you may wish to take a peek at what is on your daughter’s social sites.
Have you thought about what it would be like to be Gil or Dan while your linin’ it up and throwin’ em back WITH your kids?
Fortunately, this is not the focus today. I do not feel Morgan’s friends did anything to directly cause her fate. They are more “ME” than frienemy, that is evident.
Gil Harrington, posting on the families site findmorgan.com, wrote one of the most eloquent and courageous posts from the Mother of a missing child I have ever read.
The snowfall is beautiful but still disturbing – melancholy. Wonder if Morgan is cold – is snow falling on her face – or is her face covered by leaves in a shallow grave being hidden by the snow. I glance out the window and see the crimson blaze of a cardinal at the bird feeder – my heart leaps for a second at the beauty – then I think its feathers look like blood in the snow. Is that what Morgan’s blood looks like in the snow? See how the pitfalls are everywhere – even at the bird feeder.
In a somewhat angst-ridden moment, a poster on blinkoncrime.com suggested any and all witnesses in this case should be subject to repeated Barry Manilow songs until they confess.
It jogged a memory for me that reminded me that I am proudly my Father’s daughter. Morgan is Dan Harrington’s daughter.
Maybe someone, somewhere, has just not approached that perspective.

Barry holds a special place in the heart of my family. When I was a kid I used to play dress up with my Mom’s clothes. If a pair of her way-too-big-for-me heels was “done”, she would let me cut off the ankle straps and dance around in them as slides.
One afternoon, when I should have been doing my homework, I was blaring Copa Cabana in my Parents study dressed like a thriftshop showgirl and when ” Who could ask for more…at the Copa” part came on, I kicked like a 12 year old Rockette and launched my “slide/RPG” into the ceiling.
There it stayed.
I threw everything I could find at that shoe to dislodge it. Nothing.
Except for the new marks on the scalloped ceiling.
Later, when unbeknownst to me, my Dad was reading his 12 daily newspapers in the study, I thought I might try another idea.
I jumped as hard as I could at the spot upstairs above where the slutslipper was lodged.
It worked on the 3rd try.
How do I know?
I heard a “S o n o f a …..” , then something that sounded like a combination of my first and middle names with a swear word interjected that was rising in tone and volume, and now coming my way.
As I hit the hallway to head to the other direction or squeeze myself unnaturally under something, there He was
My Dad, evidence in hand, smiling wryly form ear to ear.
“Yours I presume, young lady,” his forearm outstretched gently with the nail to my coffin in his palm.
I responded .. “What makes you say that?
Could be ketchup or mustards..”
(Lame editors note: do NOT ask, my sisters and I had bathing suits that matched when we were little that were red, yellow and white, respectively, it stuck to this day, I was Mayo)
He replied .. ” Because I know, this weekend, when you fish out your overalls and help me fix the ceiling before your Mother notices, you would rather do that than whatever she comes up with so we can be all done here. The End. ( Blink dad making the wipe hands clean gesture)
She has been talking about repainting the Family room for months, I would LOVE some help with that…”
“Yes Sir.” I muttered with a matching grimace.
“Can I have it back?” I asked.
“I would say your dancing days are on hold, dear daughter, for the foreseeable future, as are your TV privliges.”
“Anything else? ” I asked.
“Why yes, there is. If you choose to dance through the house with wreckless abandon, next time, do it when your homework is finished and in your tennis shoes. And can you please try to be more like your Mother and less like me?”
“Doubtfull Deets, doubtful.”
With that carefully measured tween rhetort I skipped down the hall, crisis averted and I am still Dad’s fave.
I can live with the painting. Wonder if I can pick the color??
I chose to share this very personal exchange with my Daddy because it dawned on me that maybe someone that reads this does not understand what Morgan’ s Father (and family, but this reference is strictly male) needs from them.
He was her protector. He is her ceiling fixer.
You have to give him back what you took so he can fix it for her and their family.
He does not care who you are or what you may have done.
You can do this for them now. Have faith that anything can be fixed. Anything.

Yes — and I don’t think — think — that that is a video filmed by WT, but maybe captured by someone else and he linked it to his page — that song was played near the end of the concert between 10:30 and 11:10 — so if WT did film it, he’s inside at 9:30 when Morgan is last seen ….
I just called my kid and asked him — there were pyrotechnics at the beginning of the concert — but it was a different song …

I doubt he even wanted to go! If you notice, he hardly ever posts on HFMORGAN. Personally, I think he should be REMOVED from the site.
Everyone is ACCOUNTABLE for their own behavior, and when you put it out there, EXPECT to be under the microscope. This INCLUDES WT, DW and SGM. Would you want your 19yr old daughter dating any of these guys? I think not.

I will tell you this — my son’s myspace when he was in 11th grade was public — we had two computers — a friend called me and said she was reading his page and as I was talking to her I was pulling up his myspace — he heard me on the phone, ran to his room, and made it “private” while I was on the phone and the caller and me both lost it at the same time —
of course that was not the end of the story in our house — I made him open it up and show me what was on the page — it had his name and where he went to school and stupid shots of him — I made him take it all down, but I have no doubt whatsoever that he didn’t immeidately go in and create another page under a different name — we have a friend w/ a 16 y/o daughter — she has bad things posted on the net — I talked to her father who insisted that her “tweets” went straight to his phone and he read everything — but she has a “private” page and her dad didn’t want to hear it, so I dropped it —
these kids are techno savvy — the last few months of HS this was my son’s nightly routine — which I found out much much later — the kids waited until the parents were normally asleep — after midnight — then he’d have his phone for texting and his computer on — and they all IM each other — they all had video cams and they’d be up until 2 or 3 in the morning — and fall asleep in class the next day —
the internet, just like cell phones, is both a blessing and a curse — his cell plan had unlimited texting, and I switched him from one plan to another for Christmas — he has unlimited data now, but it’s w/ the same company — but the rep told me on average he sent/recv’d thousands of texts each month — thousands
and Momof3 is absolutely right — they all know about all these different sites — my laptop died, so I took his — and this computer is full of junk — not necessarily bad junk — but full of junk nonetheless — ugh

Dearest Morgan – it feels heavier for us now – your being gone. It is 2010 and I know you haven’t been gone a year – it only feels like it. We are sort of confused and can’t quite figure out how to switch our gait from a full sprint into a more measured steadfast pace. We will have to learn this to continue searching for you in this endurance phase of our quest to FIND MORGAN.
Life draws you back from the abyss of grief and pain. Eventually, you must participate in life and answer its call. We will answer and will move forward and still maintain our search for you. If she vanished by choice, then no crime has been committed. It would just be her parents wanting to find her to make sure she was okay. Maybe this is why we aren’t hearing anymore information from LE.
My latest ponderings would be on why LE have been so quiet on this case. No pictures and no information on all the speculation. So I have come up with the following.
1. Morgan never made it to the concert. (Longheld belief)
2. Morgan simply left town for personal reasons.
3. The original POI never panned out and they aren’t revealing that.
4. They are protecting something or somebody.
5. They don’t have a clue what happened to Morgan.
I am sure there are more but that pretty much paints the picture.
Of those five I am curious about if any of those hit anybodys target?
In my mind a lot of good public information and possible sightings have been lost with the passing of time. There has to be a very good reason for them to give nothing.
I know the Harringtons are working very closely with LE so I am sure this silence is ok with them???? That is what makes me consider number 2 a lot more than I used to.
Or…LE is in very big trouble.
By the way. Who polices the police in a case like this? Anybody know?

I have never heard LE acknowledge that anyone observed Morgan getting into a vehicle on the bridge.
So, to your knowledge, has LE leaked this information to the media, or this the result of sloppy reporting?

Hmmmm…have not posted in a while but just catching up on all the reading…glad to see you all are still kickin’ the possibilities around and still tracin’ the facts….as best we can…I am wondering why WT has not posted on this site (or has he under another name?)….guess if I were under such scrutiny I would want my “facts” known….not saying he is guilty of anything here, but I think I would feel compeleed if I were the topic of conversation….stay safe and thanks Blink and B “super sleuths” fo your tireless efforts on behalf of Morgan and her family.
About dreams — I have, to the best of my knowledge, never had a prophetic dream in my life. The closest I ever came was soon after Virginia started the lottery. I dreamed my father came to me and told me to write the lottery numbers down. I woke up, grabbed a pen and paper and started to write the numbers down — got to No. 4 and said: this is ridiculous — it’s a dream — went back to sleep — the numbers were printed in the Sunday paper and I compared my 4 to the 4 on the paper — they were the same — I was like, durn — no dreams after that one —
But I dream about Morgan about once a week — and usually the same dream — where the news anchor — and it’s a specific anchor at the station I usually watch — says the same thing in each dream: that the body found has been positively identified as that of missing VT Morgan Harrington.
I really think it’s just my subconscious dreaming about my conscious thoughts — there are really only two outcomes to this tragic situation — one, Morgan is alive and was either abducted or walked away on her own — or that she is passed from this earth — if Morgan has passed, then that will be the news report and it is not prophetic in any manner —
however, I do not discount dreams — there is that case last year in Washington state where the kid had a car accident and her car went down into a gully not visible from the roadway — a week later a family friend dreamed where she was — got in her car, drove to the site — got out of her car and climbed down the gulley and found the car and the kid alive
If Morgan has passed, I hope she is able to send info in dreams and other means to communicate where she is — I just hope she doesn’t send that info to one of these “so-called” psychic detectives who want to charge the family 600 bucks to relay the information — that just burns my soul !
I have no idea what the stages of grief are for a missing person–have to be different than for a known death. Maybe a little more similar to that for a loved one in a believed-permanent coma?
A few weeks ago, Dan was hoping that she had left for some reason, and now Gil seems to be there, just as Dan is convinced of a predator.

Just some thoughts.
skyler: You have so many great anecdotes, and I *love* how you use them to make your points and explain your thinking. It’s amazing how so many of life’s seemingly pointless or annoying experiences (e.g., tapeworms) can turn out to be lessons that are applicable to unrelated situations encountered later in life.
O/T to skyler: I’m sorry about your job layoff. I’ve been laid off several times — the first time was devastating — but what I learned is to view the situation as an opportunity and take advantage of it. Search for jobs, of course, but also have some fun and do things you always wished you could do but didn’t have/take the time to pursue. If you go into shut-down mode and stay home worrying and searching online job ads all day, you may regret not taking advantage of the time (been there, done that).
You may decide that this is the perfect time to change careers or start your own business. Honestly, more businesses are hiring contractors than are hiring full-time employees right now (which doesn’t help with benefits/health insurance; buy into COBRA if you can afford it). Take full advantage of unemployment insurance and don’t feel guilty about it; your employer paid for it, and that’s what it’s there for.
Spend time outside on nice days. Go to matinees if you can afford it. Watch the calendar of events in your newspaper: local universities, comm colleges, and nonprofits offer free movies (“films” lol), poetry readings, plays, concerts, etc. Learn a new skill (applicable to a new job or not) — there are plenty of free/cheap classes available online and at local libraries, adult ed. centers, parks and rec, etc. Volunteer at the animal shelter (my fav, I foster babies too little to be adopted) or somewhere you’ve always wanted to work. Check out the library — free books, newspapers, mags, CDs, DVDs. Spend the afternoon at a coffee shop: Barnes & Noble or local bookstores with coffee are great places to get out without spending much money. Take day trips to nearby wineries — many offer free tours. Visit local, state, and national parks. Walk your dog. Check out the local SCORE office — they offer free assistance if you want to start a business and free/cheap classes.
The possibilities are endless, as Blink and everyone else likely thinks of this post — endless. lol. Hope I didn’t overstep.

Just to be clear. While I may be choosing to “decipher” some of Morgan’s father and mother’s words, I do not for one second not feel their immense love, pain and longing for their daughter through their writings.
I don’t post very often but since I see some discussions of dreams being allowed- what the heck. I have not had any dreams about Morgan , but I have had three really strange dreams since I started following this case. In 2 of them I was all right but I was being held captive in a house. In another I went to heaven and there was a panel of 3 angels. They were reading my confidential records even though they weren’t supposed to. I asked them if I had been good enough to get in and one of them started to cry and said that this was too sad and I had to go back to earth and have some happy times before I could come back in. Just some crazy dreams and synchronicities,with emphasis on the ‘crazy’. I’ve only been to stay in Virginia twice many years ago when I was a college student in DC. Once I visited a friend at UVA in Charlottesville and another time I visited a guy I was dating at VPI in Blacksburg. We went on a date to a park that used to be a Civil War battlefield. Means nothing relative to this case. Also, my name is Virginia and my mom’s name was Charlotte. I was also in the medical fiels for several years. About all I can do to help is be a pair of eyes up here in NYC and tell others to look for her,too,wherever they are.

At this point, my comment is only speculation — but what more do we have ?
Even *if* Morgan either had pre-arranged to meet someone, or someone picked her up maybe w/out evil intentions initially — or as OYE seems to lead us that she was at a post-concert party and met her demise — honestly, maybe it was an accident — if she were impaired, she could have stumbled and hit her head on a rock or something else accident related — maybe the person panicked at the time and tried to hide her — but after all this time, why don’t they simply go to the authorities —
or if Morgan has chosen to simply walk away from her life — I don’t think she could walk away and not be in contact with someone from her past — Morgan is one of the technological generation — “friends” are their world — they are joined at the hip via phones, internet — I don’t believe she can just walk away — and if someone has talked to her since 10-17 they have to tell the Harringtons — they don’t realize now how fast 20 turns into 40, and at 40, once you have children of your own, how different your perspective is on everything —
as usual, Gil’s latest blog entry tears at my heart — but she’s right — they have to move on from this, get back into their work and daily routines, while still searching for Morgan — but how in the world do you do that?
It seemed that Morgan and Alex were very close, and if Morgan decided simply to leave of her own volition, that Alex would be the one she would contact — but from Gil’s blogs, he’s not doing very well, either — and you can’t fake that but so far —

I have “listened” to all the research regarding WT. I do not know if he is involved in the disappearance of Morgan. We have looked at a # of people here, I still do not know if they are involved in Morgan’s disappearance. I hope everyone’s sleuthing has led LE to look into all of these individuals.
Someone asked, Why the perpetrator would involve themselves in the Facebook page? Why would any perpetrator involve themselves in any investigation, in any way?
I do not know. Yet, it does happen. They do involve themselves.
Take the murder of Mukim Khan, the murderers, who were classmates helped search for him. They befriended his father and would ask if there was any progress in the case.

Then there is the brutal murder of Missy Avila by her best friends. After killing Missy, one of the friends moved into the family’s home. She became like a daughter to Missy’s mother. She knew everything Missy’s mom had learned from police all of their leads, everything. She even went so far as to point the finger at innocent people and provoked Missy’s mother into harassing them. She told the family that Missy’s ghost was talking with her. It took LE 2 years to figure it all out., and only after another friend who was there at the killing came forward and testified.

These are only two accounts of the perpetrators involving themselves in the aftermath of a crime. Why do they do it? I would think to keep tabs on the investigation, and to perhaps, they get some sort of sick satisfaction at watching, first hand, the damage they have brought about, unfold each day.
skyler, bob-dog is soooo right—if you are COBRA-eligible, get it! With the 65% offset going on right now, it’s dirt cheap for you for the next 9 mos. When the subsidy ends, drop it like it’s hot and find something affordable (= high deductible) on e-surance or somewhere. Gil and Dan, IMO, are not in the emotional state of mind to give so much forethought into developing cryptic messages within her blog or other public statements.

one, Morgan did not need to wait until a Metallica concert, on a rainy, cold night with her loss of transportation, purse and any money she may need and intoxicated to leave her life. she lived out on her own. there was many an opportunity for her to “walk away”. she did not. someone grabbed her, period.

skyler, Jeffrey Dahmer was such an interesting character. Not just because he was hoping to make zombie sex slaves by trying do-it-yourself lobotomies. And not just the cannibalism–which traditionally is done in order to gain some of the qualities or powers of the person being consumed. For instance, a cannibal warrior eats the heart of a slain warrior opponent to get his strength, bravery, etc. (Or—with apologies to fellow Catholics everywhere—lemme take you to Mass with me so we can consume a little body and blood of Christ (not figurative, but actual) in order to get some of His attributes.)
But the most interesting thing about Dahmer to me is that he said, hey, you shouldn’t blame these things on yer parents or upbringing. I take full responsibility for what I did.

I’ve hesitated to post this, because it is in fact not related to Morgan or her case. In another way I think it is. But I’ll understand if you don’t post this.
Last week I had an experience that made me think of Morgan ( and the thoughts, early on, about her hitchhiking.)
Someone upthread mentioned that it’s impossible to prove you are not guilty. I learned that it is hard to even prove you are not scary.
On a friday night, on my bike ride home after a session of beer and – by lack of a better word – ‘dancing’, I saw a woman (20 ish) walking alone on a dark road next to a canal. I could only see her backside, but I could tell she was afraid. As I got closer I realized she was afraid of me.
If fear is a gift, she was completeley wasting hers, because I am totally harmless. I’m as unscary as you can get, so the expierence of being feared was new. It was uncomfortable and funny at the same time.
Maybe, if Morgan’s case hadn’t gotten to me, I’d left it at that, thinking on the line of: she can walk where and whenever she wants, none of my bussiness. But now, considering a recent increase in sex assaults in my town, I decided that I should at least offer her a ride out of this dark no man’s land.
So now I was a stranger on a dark road about to offer a young woman a ride, how scary is that? As I approached her I sensed she was preparing for a possible assault. I tried to think of something ‘defearing’ to say or do, but once you’re scary, you’re scary, there’s practicaly no way back. I just hoped she wouldn’t go straight for my eyeballs before I could finish a sentence.
She didn’t, her defence mechanism turned out to be mostly yelling. She was good at it. She almost immediately calmed down, noticed that I was indeed totally harmless and in the end appreciated the ride home. She told me she missed the bus and had just started walking. I asked her why she volunteraly choose the “dangerous, scared like hell” road, while there are other only slightly longer but safer ways home. She told me that if she listened to al her fears she’d be in her room behind bolted doors 24/7. I guess, she was one of those people who get really stubborn after a couple of drinks.
When I was only remotly suggesting that her line of thinking was maybe a bit naïve, she told me firmly that she had the right to be naïve, just like everybody else. Now, I guess people can argue with that, but there and then, I could not. Still can’t. Maybe I need to get out more, but it struck me as one of the wisest things I heard in months. It is nice to walk around knowing I have the right to be naïve. (although I choose to be rightfully naïve and take the safe way home at the same time)
That’s all. I just thought I’d share.
Thought just crossing my mind: If I hadn’t offered a ride and something *had* happened to that girl, I would be a definate POI and you guys would be all over my facebook:)

Do not feel like you need to justify your thoughts to some. I have been down that road before. You see, the way some work is by grasping for something…anything…even if it means putting others through the ringer. To me it just looks like the flavor of the week. None of that kind of speculating will bring us closer to Morgan. When some are zeroed in on something they forget to see everything as a whole.

Thank you for always continuing on in the search for Morgan. You see things that do not jump out to others. Your sleuthing skills are superb.
I do not know if Gil and Dan are leaving clues for Morgan. I would think that they would have to clear what they write with LE, if that were the case,for fear they might jeopardize the investigation. But with this case- I don’t know.
It is one of the strangest cases. So many easily answered questions left to be speculated on, so many gaps in the time line, left to our imaginations. Gil and Dan now seem to be talking to Morgan. Urging her to come out of the darkness and back home. I do not know if we are witnessing some of the stages of grief played out in their words- disbelief- anger- shock- denial. But what I took away from Gil’s words today is she hopes Morgan has left on her own, and will choose to come home, and they will all work together, on integrating her back into her life.
I think they need to believe this in order to carry on each day. I do not begrudge them for that. I too, hope Morgan is out there, living a life, her parents may not have approved of, and she will choose to come home in time. Hope is sometimes all we have to keep us going.

I understand what you are saying. WT seems like he may be just a really nice guy with a big heart, who wants to help people. In my opinion, someone who is an EMT and works with disabled people is someone who cares about others. And, this could be why he took so much interest in this case. He was there – he somehow feels bad that he was not in a position to help her, and he wants to help find Morgan now—just like everyone else.
But, LE did ask the public to notice if anyone was acting different or suspiciously. In many cases, the perpetrator does insert himself into the case by searching for the victim, or trying to help find them. Sometimes, attending a vigil for the victim, going to the funeral, etc.
In the case of Jeffrey Curley, a 10 year old boy from Cambridge, MA, abducted and murdered by two men – One of the men who murdered him was his neighbor and was passing flyers out the day after the boy went missing, giving “helpful information”, and trying to help “find” Jeffrey… working side by side with the family and law enforcement until he finally broke down and confessed.
WT started the helpfindmorgan site. He, himself, stated that he was sitting in section 311. There is a question as to whether he left the venue early. And it appears that, for some reason, he turned his phone off, as his friends were unable to contact him. He also got himself on CNN, and stated that he saw Morgan that night at the concert. Unfortunately, all of these things bring attention to him.
From his conversation with Ryan (aka: Jenna), it seems pretty clear to me that he said he left the concert and drove home with Josh. (Marvin and the others drove separately). But, it also seems that his own friends could not reach him that night.
There are not many known facts in this case, which does lead to a lot of speculation. But, without sites like this, Morgan’s name would not be out there like it is.
Also, LE does look at all of these sites, I am sure. In my opinion, the more eyes and ears through researchers they have out here, the better their chances of solving the crime.
Some of the people on BOC have done SO much research and have given SO many links, etc., I am sure all of this hard work can be very valuable to LE. It takes a long time, they have done an excellent job, and they are all dedicated to bringing Morgan home.
I think that is a good thing.
Keeping Morgan’s name alive requires speculation. It requires reporting things that seem suspicious. And, that includes people who have inserted themselves right into the middle of it, leaving big question marks and room for speculation.
I personally have a great deal of respect for someone who is a volunteer EMT and helps people with disabilities.
If LE deems it necessary, I am sure they will talk with him themselves (and perhaps already have).
But, if we all stopped brainstorming, researching, speculating, and bringing up suspicious behavior – we would have nothing, and Morgan’s case would go cold.
I don’t think people here are about to let that happen.
I am truly sorry if anyone feels like they are being picked on or falsely accused of something. People here are surely not trying to ruin anyone’s life. But, when you insert yourself into a crime and bring attention to yourself with your own words or actions – well … that’s just how it works…
The focus here is to try to help find Morgan and bring her home to her family.

With all the possible sightings I can’t say she definitely didnt walk away from her life.
I also can not say she was abducted and definitely killed. However improbable there is a chance she has been abducted and is being held. It happens.
I relistened to LT. Radar’s 1st press conference today. In it he mentions “the store”, and asks anyone who might have seen her to come forward. Later he makes it more general but, you get my point. I think they may have had confirmation early, that she was in a store after leaving JPJ, this is speculation on my part but, what isn’t at this point?

I think about Alex a lot. I think he might be a very sensitive young man. I too think that if Morgan left she might be in New York. I remember a model that Morgan had on her facebook or somewhere. Her name was Allison Harvard. If I am not mistaken she was considered missing for a while. I have tried looking it up but have met a brick wall. If Morgan really wanted to get away she would have new friends and not really want to return to all this right now.
Her walking away would surely explain LE’s silence. I also find it strange that none of the talk shows have been involved in Morgans disappearance. Usually they do a follow up of some kind.
They posted today over at findmorgan that the detective lady that was to do stories on Morgans disappearance has now gone quiet and is talking to the “inner circle” only because of what she has found in her investigation.
So one of two things in my mind. Either Morgan has walked away or they have a POI and are very close.

My latest ponderings would be on why LE have been so quiet on this case. No pictures and no information on all the speculation. So I have come up with the following.
1. Morgan never made it to the concert. (Longheld belief)
2. Morgan simply left town for personal reasons.
3. The original POI never panned out and they aren’t revealing that.
4. They are protecting something or somebody.
5. They don’t have a clue what happened to Morgan.
I am sure there are more but that pretty much paints the picture.
Of those five I am curious about if any of those hit anybodys target?
In my mind a lot of good public information and possible sightings have been lost with the passing of time. There has to be a very good reason for them to give nothing.
I know the Harringtons are working very closely with LE so I am sure this silence is ok with them???? That is what makes me consider number 2 a lot more than I used to.
Or…LE is in very big trouble.

I don’t like that individuals come under the microscope and suffer the scrutiny of the public, but as Blink says’ if one maintains a public presence on the internet or a forum such as FindMorganFB etc it is to be expected that ones life maybe subject to investigation.

It is your speculation #4 that strikes me. I believe that some members of LE are protecting someone or somebody. Something is rotten in Denmark. The silence in this case is deafening and raises my hinky meter big time.
It turns my stomach to say this, but I have been talking to many people about Morgans’ disappearance
and have been told more than once that the individuals or crime rings involved with child and female abductions that frequently lead to death or exploitation of the victims are tied up with some members of LE who are on the payroll to keep quiet and cover up the crime. ( Regretfully no links here just word of mouth on the street)
Sorry to say this but I have also heard this syndrome is more prevalent in the South. I have worked and lived in the South and am a big fan, so no disrespect here. No disrespect either to the hardworking, honest, dedicated members of LE who are genuinely dedicated to the pursuit of justice. Everyone comes under the microscope.
In Morgans’ case the perp may be a LE officer, someone who works in security , or an individual who is related to or closely tied to LE. This angle has been previously discussed very early on in this case here on BOC.
If this is in fact the case as Elizabeth says above LE could be in very big trouble.
I do not believe this case is EVER going away, no matter how “cold” it becomes “officially” because as Dr Harrington says “people don’t just disappear.”
Enough already, let’s get to the bottom of this , find Morgan and bring her home.

What she was vulnerable to was a predator who was in the University and Chalottesville community on October 17 a well as in November.
Could he have meant this predator was here on Oct. 17th, left the area, then returned to the area again in November?

The post also hinted to the fact that the relationship wasn’t well hidden from Morgan’s parents/family/friends. I’ve tried to find the link multiple times but it has since been deleted. Does anyone else remember reading it?

I have never really thought that Morgan would leave on her own because of the love she has for her family and the love they have for her, but stranger things have happened.
Without all of the pieces of the puzzle it becomes so hard to solve.

My heart always aches whenever I read anything from Gil. The thing that stood out to me was “I wonder how long it will take us to put Morgan back together again once we find her.”
It could mean nothing but it made me wonder if anything ever happened before. This is no disrespect to Morgan or the Harrington’s. One of my best friends had this experience.
A long time friend of mine came from a wonderful family and she loved them very much and they loved her. She lived in Illinois and she was going to college. She never did drugs but somehow she met what she thought was the love of her life and he was addicted to heroin. She did not know it at first because he was very charming and he seemed fine. Long story short he got her hooked and they took off to Arizona. This was 30 years ago. No one ever thought my friend would ever do this. They searched for 2 months and thought something happened. It was a nightmare. Her parents did not even know this guy. She was a college educated young woman who wanted to be a nurse. Finally they got a break as her sister found some answers from a friend and she located my friend living in Arizona with this guy and she was strung out on Heroin. Her sister and brother drove there and got her (it was not easy) She now is 55 years old has a wonderful husband and 3 beautiful children. Her family did not give up. This would not be my first choice but it is a possiblility I guess. It is also a possiblility that something happened to her. I just have so many thoughts that go round and round in my head. Most of they have some substance.

I am sorry to post a second time. I just wanted to say in my last post that I did not mean any disrespect to Gil or Dr. Harrington. It is just the words in Gil’s post really stuck with me. I think all things are possible right now. I have great respect and admiration for Gil and Dr. Harrington and I think Morgan is a very special young woman. I can feel the love the Harrington’s have for their daughter and it is very touching.
Please, if I can just do this one thing and start anew from a different perspective of reporting. The facts minus the sea of web conjecture are as follows:
• Harrington arrived safely at the arena in her car which was driven by a friend. She was in the company of two girlfriends and a young man who was the boyfriend of mutual friend. It was in fact Harrington’s car, not a friend’s vehicle as earlier reported in the media, which did take all four students to the arena. The keys remained with Harrington’s friend, inside the venue.
KEYS are inside with friend? Why didn’t friend(which one had the keys)just take them out to the door? Was dan inside with keys or did he drop off the girls?
Morgan could have sat in her car! makes no sense!
• Harrington made it safely inside the JPJ arena. Around 8:15 to 8:20 p.m. Morgan parted from her friends to find a restroom.
SHE just had to go pee and then what happens…she falls? i do not believe she wanted to leave the arena or her life!! I believe this is the most important happening, that is leaving her seat. Should I? This starts something and with who?
• Around this time, Harrington was reportedly seen with a minor facial cut. Virginia State Police believed the cut was the result of a trip or fall, not an assault.
DOES SOMEONE offer his/her help at this time and leads her out saying help is this way? I do not believe it needed to be an assault for it to be important!
• Harrington ends up outside of the JPJ arena and is not allowed re-admittance as per the standard JPJ arena policy.
MORGAN tries to regain entry multiple times. Does this start the chase? But not wanting to be looked as “harassing a young, pretty girl, he just follows her around the lots? Sightings start to occur. Gramma sometime hears and sees a fight?
• 8:30 p.m. (estimated) Harrington speaks to her friends (on her cellphone) who are still inside. Morgan informs them she was outside of the arena and was not going to be let back in. She speaks of her intent to find another way home or would possibly meet up with them after the show.
IF FRIENDS INSIDE have key then why didn’t they just bring them out? SHE states she will meet up with them???
• Over the next hour, eye witness reports place Harrington in the surrounding area of the JPJ arena parking, then moving further into the UVA campus.
IS Morgan moving around campus trying to get away in an inhebriated state? Does someone or someones offer to help her?
• Police track Harrington’s movements to the Copeley Road Bridge where eyewitness reports leave investigators to believe Harrington was trying to hitch a ride. Harrington’s trail turns cold at the Copeley Road Bridge between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m.
I BELIEVE that LE has never confirmed a HH verified, actual, she difinitely got into a car? maybe someone knows differently? Blink?
• Harrington has never been seen nor heard from since.
SOMEone knows what happened?

I don’t believe the Harrington’s are speaking “in code”.
That is not the right description.
I believe they are making the most of the short bursts of exposure that they can. Meaning while they are expressing their continuous love, support and devotion to their daughter, their own pain, and that they will not give up until they find their daughter and bring her home, it is my opinion they may also be speaking to whomever they believe may have took Morgan and/or to whomever is close to the individidual(s) responsible.
Should the correct party read their words, that party “will know” to what and “to whom” Gil Harrington is referring to, unlike myself or the majority who don’t.

So great to have you back. Your thoughts are extremely well articulated.
I don’t know what is going on in this case. I have not known from the beginning. I have NEVER followed a missing person’s case that the last known whereabouts, clothing, and people have been kept from the public. Or released so far after he fact,that it may not matter.
I do not know if LE was/is being respectful of the Harrington’s and what they want released ,(as we all have been, especially after Dr. Harrington so graciously posted here), or if it is because they have not cleared all of the known players and they are working around at least one lawyer to do so. Saying you have cleared Morgan’s “friends” is a very broad term. Or is it because they have successfully cleared them all? If so,release the info so that we can move forward with you.
If I can not get past these unknown facts,I known Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public can’t either. If they feel they are being duped, tricked or kept out of the loop, they will tune out.IMO
I keep going back over what a believe Dakota posted after Dr. Harrington’s comments here… He is a psychiatrist. He knows when and what buttons to push to get a desired result in a conversation. Was he trying to let us know that he still believes Morgan was not stoned or drunk? Was he trying to let us know they have a person of interest?
I thought we were making great progress in our sleuthing, in regards to the friends/acquaintances that Morgan was with at the concert. If Dr. Harrington came here in order to help us get off the subject. He succeeded IMO. Did he do this to protect Morgan’s friends or protect the investigation? I don’t know. As I said, I want only to help bring Morgan home. I want to try to do it in the most respectful way in regards to the Harrington’s feelings. Perhaps this is LE’s dilemma also….
I know Dan and Gil have said they do not believe the friends had anything whatsoever to do with Morgan’s disappearance.(which is very understandable) But,I can not forget that in the first interviews with the Harrington’s they said Morgan was too trusting, and she would not have went with just anyone. They believed then, that someone Morgan thought of as a friend, someone she knew lured her into a sense of false security. Gil’s words were something to the effect that at 20 everyone is your friend, whether you met them once, or met them a hundred times…
To me the same questions are begging to be asked and answered. At this point, I do not know if they ever will be……
Or maybe I am reading too much into Dr. Harrington’s appearance and words, and he came here out of frustration, and hope that we, here, could hear him out and help. I don’t know.

I think there’s something DEEPLY wrong with this investigation. I’ll differ from you in that I don’t think LE is necessarily protecting one of their own. I just think there’s a tragic interplay of: 1) the selfishness of the friends; 2) the Harringtons’ similar interest in protecting their daughter’s reputation (hence the belated announcement that she might have been intoxicated — but no drugs willingly); 3) LE strategies to keep information very, very tight and some conventional strategies (that pointed to BB players) that might pale in this case compared to the collective, the digital, the social media.
The net result for me is that I don’t expect Morgan’s remains (and I do think she has perished at the hands of a bad guy or through misadventure post-concert) to be found any time in the near or intermediate future — and barring some accidental stumble of a hunter or the like, I don’t think she’ll ever be recovered.

Sklyer: I’ve been there too, but with pregnant wife (and one kid already present). Signs were on the wall months before I saw termination, but I just felt like I was walking through the valley of the shadow of death. Prayed a lot, kept cool and focused, investigated COBRA like mad, but then didn’t have to pull the trigger on that insurance because I landed another job at the last moment. This is all to say: chin up! And ask for help/advice from everyone in your network; even if they don’t know of an opportunity, they might know someone who does!
