Charlottesville, VA–The disappearance of Morgan Harrington, missing since October 17, 2009 is exhibiting the potential to reach a temperature that is currenlty encompassing the Northeast: VERY COLD.
Through the thousands of posts at blinkoncrime.com and numerous articles covering Morgan, it is clear that frustration in the lack of lead generation and ambiguous statements from the Virginia State Police are causing some to lack conviction Morgan will be found.
In a recent press conference by VSP, LE provided NO NEW information or progress regarding Morgan’s case. In a shift of posture by the Harrington family, Dr. Harrington has begun participating in online chat and sponsored an additional facebook site to help the efforts to find his daughter.
In fact, for the first time in 2.5 months, we know what kind of camera Morgan had with her the evening of the Metallica concert from his research.
In contrast, we have viewed footage and photos of her dear friends that have clearly moved on without the knowledge of their friends plight.
Girls will be girls you say? Before one person comes on here to tell me I am being too critical of these young women you should know that due to a fortunate Facebook update, describing these girls as Morgan’s friends is entirely generous.
Furthermore, if you happen to be one of the parents that has provided booze for underage minors captured on digital for all to see you may wish to take a peek at what is on your daughter’s social sites.
Have you thought about what it would be like to be Gil or Dan while your linin’ it up and throwin’ em back WITH your kids?
Fortunately, this is not the focus today. I do not feel Morgan’s friends did anything to directly cause her fate. They are more “ME” than frienemy, that is evident.
Gil Harrington, posting on the families site findmorgan.com, wrote one of the most eloquent and courageous posts from the Mother of a missing child I have ever read.
The snowfall is beautiful but still disturbing – melancholy. Wonder if Morgan is cold – is snow falling on her face – or is her face covered by leaves in a shallow grave being hidden by the snow. I glance out the window and see the crimson blaze of a cardinal at the bird feeder – my heart leaps for a second at the beauty – then I think its feathers look like blood in the snow. Is that what Morgan’s blood looks like in the snow? See how the pitfalls are everywhere – even at the bird feeder.
In a somewhat angst-ridden moment, a poster on blinkoncrime.com suggested any and all witnesses in this case should be subject to repeated Barry Manilow songs until they confess.
It jogged a memory for me that reminded me that I am proudly my Father’s daughter. Morgan is Dan Harrington’s daughter.
Maybe someone, somewhere, has just not approached that perspective.

Barry holds a special place in the heart of my family. When I was a kid I used to play dress up with my Mom’s clothes. If a pair of her way-too-big-for-me heels was “done”, she would let me cut off the ankle straps and dance around in them as slides.
One afternoon, when I should have been doing my homework, I was blaring Copa Cabana in my Parents study dressed like a thriftshop showgirl and when ” Who could ask for more…at the Copa” part came on, I kicked like a 12 year old Rockette and launched my “slide/RPG” into the ceiling.
There it stayed.
I threw everything I could find at that shoe to dislodge it. Nothing.
Except for the new marks on the scalloped ceiling.
Later, when unbeknownst to me, my Dad was reading his 12 daily newspapers in the study, I thought I might try another idea.
I jumped as hard as I could at the spot upstairs above where the slutslipper was lodged.
It worked on the 3rd try.
How do I know?
I heard a “S o n o f a …..” , then something that sounded like a combination of my first and middle names with a swear word interjected that was rising in tone and volume, and now coming my way.
As I hit the hallway to head to the other direction or squeeze myself unnaturally under something, there He was
My Dad, evidence in hand, smiling wryly form ear to ear.
“Yours I presume, young lady,” his forearm outstretched gently with the nail to my coffin in his palm.
I responded .. “What makes you say that?
Could be ketchup or mustards..”
(Lame editors note: do NOT ask, my sisters and I had bathing suits that matched when we were little that were red, yellow and white, respectively, it stuck to this day, I was Mayo)
He replied .. ” Because I know, this weekend, when you fish out your overalls and help me fix the ceiling before your Mother notices, you would rather do that than whatever she comes up with so we can be all done here. The End. ( Blink dad making the wipe hands clean gesture)
She has been talking about repainting the Family room for months, I would LOVE some help with that…”
“Yes Sir.” I muttered with a matching grimace.
“Can I have it back?” I asked.
“I would say your dancing days are on hold, dear daughter, for the foreseeable future, as are your TV privliges.”
“Anything else? ” I asked.
“Why yes, there is. If you choose to dance through the house with wreckless abandon, next time, do it when your homework is finished and in your tennis shoes. And can you please try to be more like your Mother and less like me?”
“Doubtfull Deets, doubtful.”
With that carefully measured tween rhetort I skipped down the hall, crisis averted and I am still Dad’s fave.
I can live with the painting. Wonder if I can pick the color??
I chose to share this very personal exchange with my Daddy because it dawned on me that maybe someone that reads this does not understand what Morgan’ s Father (and family, but this reference is strictly male) needs from them.
He was her protector. He is her ceiling fixer.
You have to give him back what you took so he can fix it for her and their family.
He does not care who you are or what you may have done.
You can do this for them now. Have faith that anything can be fixed. Anything.

Let’s just say that one of the girls suspected to be OYE didn’t post a fb status on the days she posted on here with the exception of 1 day, Jan.9. There was a morning fb update on the 9th and an evening update on the 9th. OYE’s Jan 9th post was 3 hours after the morning fb status and 6 hours before the evening status update. Coincidence? Maybe. *She does NOT post a status update everyday, but I find it weird that the days OYE posted on here just happened to be one of the days with no fb status*
Observer: Can you at least tell us if LE is making any progress, and if they have some evidence and are working towards securing a suspect?
Or, can you confirm that they still just have a purse, a cell phone without a battery, and a missing Morgan? Any progress beyond the above mentioned?
We have been dutifully and heartfelt each and everyday for 3 months now for trying to figure out what happened to Morgan. We hope that there has been progress. Can you at least tell us that much? Suspect, POI, anything?
I think I might have talked myself out of this one. How could she be with them if they traveled overseas and she didn’t have her purse? she’d have to have only her passport for this theory to work. If anyone can find her at their concerts after 10/17/09, I’ll have a heart attack

Ross, yes I think a description of what the friends were wearing could help. Don’t hold your breath though. I have started to look at other videos. I know because of Blinks site what AM SS DC look like(Halloween Pics.) I know what the people in Dee’s party look like. I do wish I knew what they were wearing. Heck, I wish I knew for certain what Morgan was wearing…

I found this case on WEB slueths. I have been sitting on this for a while, but thought I would post after I
viewed the Washington Post interview with the Harringtons. Although there was 2 dead bodies, and a crime scene, this case has never been solved.
A parent Dr team at the University of Creighton(Omaha) were responsible for reviewing and admitting
Medical students into the program. Also, reviewing residents and grading them. I have researched this case and it is a widely held belief that this was a professional job, and possibly linked to a disgruntled foriegn student that was not accepted to med school, or flunked out of his/ her program.
The FBI is and was involved. What a vengeful way to get back at the people that robbed him of becoming a Physician. Kill their child. And they did indeed in the middle of the day, in their home. They knew the boys name, when the bus dropped the child off and then they went to the home.
Dr. Harrington is also in charge of admitting med students into med school, and perhaps has a hand if they are in review of performnce in residency with the school/hospital.
I know this is off topic of the friends, and probably any working theory theory LE has, but it might be worth at least a thought.

I have some personal concern here as I have an elderly relative
living near the crime scene. The Omaha police in the first 30 days since
this happened released a lot of conflicting statements and the
general feeling was and still is that they are just stumbling around. The parents
of the child are both prominent doctors and there seems to be some
attempt to stifle this story. The local paper ran stories for a
couple days then a brief one the day the victims were buried,
a followup 60 days later nothing since. They would not even print letters to the editor. In 30 years of living here I have never seen such a clampdown.
Something is very wrong here.
I realize four months doesn’t make a cold case but there is just
something very strange going on here. If anyone has any ideas or

why yes redly, i have and Metallica to boot!!! even met them in the early 90′s. although, i know that i may sound younger than my 46 years…i have had lots of experience in the concert department and even headbanged at a few of those, myself!!

why redly, where ever did you get your medical degree? yes, it is true that some people can handle their drugs and be in control but 20 plus years in the medical profession tells me different when it comes to a young person that probably has not had drugs ‘on board’ for a significant amount of time. they have no tolerance!

I say thank you to all of you who have examined these videos so thoroughly. I can not look at any more of them. My eyes hurt, my head hurts, I’m dizzy and nauseated from looking at all the flashing lights, hair swinging in circles and spit flying. I will take your word for what you see. I well remember the week that there were about twenty or so of them flying around. I told myself then that I wouldn’t look at another. Tonight, I am telling me the same thing.
Here’s a better link to the case I posted above. Some of these students from other counries come from wealthy families. In this case, again, it has been speculated that this may have been a disgruntled students family hiring a hit man. It was a professional job. Just thinkin…..just sayin……

I have to disagree with you on this. I think Dr. Harrington’s post on this board is talking about someone specific being in the UVA community on Oct 17th and again in November. If he knows they returned in November then he must know who it is and watching their movements.
I also believe law enforcement’s statement that they believed that they left the Charlottesville area implies that they have someone in mind as well. This is just my opinion.
Could he be referring to JT coming back to the team? Is anyone getting that impression?

Watchtower — I’m reading your post, but thought I’d answer this one before I forget — this is just a guess — you ask:
The questions/concerns I keep coming back to are:
*Why did MH pack up (supposedly) 3 outfits (to show her mother) and go to stay at her parents’ house the night before the concert. I always found that odd given that she’d have such a long drive the next day and her parents’ house is backwards from the direction of the concert trip. (I do not have a link – but I believe I read this account early on, in a readthehook.com article). I have always wondered if there was some other purpose for this given that it seems so out of character for something a 20-year-old who has their own apartment would do.
One word: money — Morgan was broke; her checking acct was overdrawn — it was probably past 6 PM on Friday — even if her parents made a deposit into her acct.on Sat. it wouldn’t show up until Monday night — I live an hour away from my child and he and his roommate will drive down here for — Money !
Plus, maybe Friday night is family night at their house — when my child was younger, Friday night used to be a big deal — ABC had a Friday family night w/ Sabrina the Teenage Witch and other shows — we made it a big deal; we’d order pizza and watch TV together — I miss those days –

Okay — I’m caught up — again, thank you all so much for your positive comments about me getting my job back — it was good to be at work today —
everyone on here makes such good points — especially about Morgan facing backwards to take a picture — I’ve given that one a lot of thought — it could have been that she was taking a group shot of the — I don’t know what to call them; it’s been reported they very much dislike being called “the friends” in quotes — which is fine, because to me, they are no friends to Morgan — so I’ll call them the “attendees” — or — maybe she was taking a picture of someone who was bothering her inside the arena —
Let me try to explain to you what I observed that night. — if you stand on Emmet street, the arena is in front of you — to the left of the arena is a big parking lot — that was the VIP/pre-paid parking area — it’s a couple of blocks long — then there are some trees, I think — then if you keep going “left” up on a little hill is a huge — it looks like a warehouse terminal or a parking garage — but not for patrons — this is where the big semis, or “haulers” I call them were parked — this is the area I walked up and asked the guy could I take a few pix of the haulers w/ my camera, which I didn’t save, and where I got the huge “turn on” — not — of coming face to face w/ LOG “don’t take any pix” guy (he kept saying: no pictures, no pictures) — way down behind that parking lot/garage were the large white tour busses — there were at least three — Unsubstantiated, but I believe those were the band members’ busses.
Now, somebody local is going to have to tell you whether or not you can access that area from Copeley Road — I don’t think you can — I think I recall seeing a section/stand of trees at the end of the parking lot — it also made me wonder if there is an underground tunnel from the Emmett garage to the arena where they can load and unload equipment — my son said that as each band left the stage, there were equipment changes — that each band had their own equipment — not speakers, but like drums and guitars and that type of thing — in the LOG videos, if you look in the center of the stage where the one “spitting guy” — how gross is that? — had a bottle of water — there were black tarps over equipment that actually belonged to Metallica — My son has an electric guitar, not like those — but the boxes around the circumference of the stage reflect the sound back so they can hear — and also there are foot pedals to make the guitars sound different —
so I’m thinking when they did the equipment changes, maybe there is that tunnel that runs under the arena to the garage area so the road crew can start packing up Gojira and LOG — it’s my understanding, Gojira left the tour after the Charlotte, NC concert the next stop — and went back to France …
It took awhile for me to catch on to Blink’s cheese wheel, but now that I understand it — my cheese is glued to one theory and one particular POI
I can’t watch anymore videos of Gil and Dan — maybe I’m a coward, but it’s just too hard — but I think about them every day and pray for them and for Morgan — I tallk to Morgan every day, ask her to help us find her — I’ve gotten a little snippy w/ God (and grateful there hasn’t been any lightning in these parts for a while) — but I want her found, just like all of you — NOW!
And I was thinking if they do have video from the banks on the corner of Copeley and Ivy and see they an SUV w/ a lone woman at the wheel, hands thrown up in the hair talking to herself — they don’t have to zoom in, I can give them a hint — it’s me, and I’m saying: how in the hell did I end up here again ????
Oh — my point was — let’s forget about the RV lot for a minute — and let’s talk about the U-hall lot — I think that’s where Morgan’s car was — as well as other concert goers that night — I don’t think Morgan was HHg on that bridge to get a ride to a party — I think that girl was running from someone, and the SOB grabbed her.

W – that was an incredibly thought-provoking post, particularly the last two paragraphs… very interesting perspective.
I can’t begin to answer the majority of your insightful queries/speculative observations – which is a tip of the hat to your array of fresh ruminations – but I do have an idea on at least one (though, probably the least significant of them).
MH stayed at Mom’s that Friday night – with a suitcase as well as several pairs of shoes in her bedroom, per the feature (HooK?) article done in their home – and she appeared to be staying there for the weekend (well, most of it). She didn’t drive backwards the next morning, however (*speculation*), because AM drove to MH’s parents’ place instead (the roomies chose not to hang out the night prior to the concert, for whatever reason); AM left her car there, and she and MH drove to JMU in MH’s car. I assume this because AM drove MH’s car back down from JMU to the Harringtons, dropped off MH’s car, and drove hers home to Blacksburg. This was not expressly stated anywhere, but it stands to reason with the few scraps we know about the logistics.

hello,I went back thru posts to see if i missed anything I did.
Just wanted to say my family thinks I am crazy also. I have asked their perspective each gives me different insights- computer stuff like 4chan, cell phone stuff like phone in bra, husbands perspective is either Morgan wasn’t at concert possible too drunk so they left her at party= bases this on Dee wearing same clothes and one of her friends on FB saying “its just a coincidence they were dressed alike” his other theory is Morgan was the outcaste, for whatever reason that night. maybe she was being obnoxious drunk or dancing like Elaine in Seinfeld(his joke not mine) so they ditched her she went looking for them maybe they told her they were leaving afterall they had the keys,, and being alone and 20 she struck up a conversation with the wrong BG… As to how I do it with 3, luckily I have 2 teens to help and part of their chores is to take little one to park. Also lucky Little one is an angel….. And my house is sometimes a mess…shhhh

I’m not sure if this post will also get deleted or not, but It’s worth setting you all straight on who I am. You guys can can sit around and dissect my every action and spend hours upon hours trying to find me on the web, yet I’m the creepy one? What I’ve done is nothing that any of you wouldn’t have done. You’ve already proved that with these almost 2,000 post. People trying to add me as a friend on Facebook just to creep my profile and friends and some guy creating a fake female account in an attempt to play detective. I’m not trying to belittle anyone here or bash what your doing with this site. I actually respect it. However, what I don’t respect is the manor that you guys criticize someone. Welcome to BOC. Please note I cover many cases on this site, not just Morgan’s. I don’t condone anyone making up fake accounts, and I certainly hope that was not an accusation toward me, as I did not, nor would I, ever.
Everything needs to be run down in a case like this, and although I offer no prejudice, there has been some inconsistencies in your statements that I am aware of. That said, I do not judge them per se.

I’m not sure where the misinformation about LE publicly using the term suspect or person of interest started, but it isn’t true that they are liable if they do.
Anyone can sue anybody for any reason. However, silly lawsuits never make it to trial or even close because they are simply proven baseless. So, can someone sue? Of course. Are they generally wasting their time and money? Yes.
Those in law enforcement and the like have an implied immunity. Prosecutors are immune for obvious reasons. (Nifong was a rarity to say the least) Were it not for the extremely high visibility of that case, Nifong would never have been held responsible.
The secrecy surrounding this case has nothing to do with liability. It has everything to do with protecting the integrity of the investigation.
It is common for detectives to not even reveal the details of a case to other law enforcement. This kind of secrecy is typical and common and mostly, purposeful.
If I have some connection to the Morgan case, ie. I hung out with her that night and gave her a ride to a party then said goodbye to her and LE wrongly makes the claim that I am a person of interest, do I have
a basis for a lawsuit? Sort of. Will I ever prevail? No.
LE would have every right to make this claim based on my interaction with her that night. If they make the same claim against someone with absolutely no connection to her whatsoever living in Ohio, are they negligent? Possibly a different story.
There is a lock down on the flow of information in this case. There are reasons for it. We are all impatient out of caring for Morgan. The answers will eventually come. Blink said so….

The benefit concert in Richmond was great. Morgan has a longstanding passion for music and for her to be honored in that way was particularly fitting. I loved the energy of it. These folks saw an unfortunate event and didn’t say “too bad” and turn their backs – instead they brought their gifts of music to the table to use them to make a difference. It was wonderful to see the caring evident in these talented people.
We don’t need more of the rule of law – we got that and it ain’t working. What we do need is a code of personal integrity and responsibility, like that displayed at the concert for Morgan by all participants. It is precisely that attitude of caring plus responding to create change that will be the savings of us all. That energy can move mountains; it can change outcomes, and perhaps even bring my girl back home.

L.O.G is releasing a 2 DVD collection, 5 hours of footage, from concerts, backstage, and “everything in between” on July 1. Please Momof3 can you watch it, because I don’t think I could possibly sit through one minute of it. Hopefully, WAY before July 1, none of us will have to view the new release for clues and Morgan will be home.

The parents are on faculty at Creighton, but the father is a pathologist and director of undergraduate education, so he would not be in a position to deny someone admission to med school. I see nothing on the Creighton website to indicate the mother had that responsibility either. No coverage on this case has ever speculated it was a professional hit, nor does there appear to be any “coverup” or effort to bury the case. It is simply a very sad case with few productive leads. I think it is a stretch to believe that there are any ties to the Harrington case or that someone would be so vengeful to Dr. Harrington as to commit the effort to following Morgan on the off chance they would they would have an opportunity to exact their revenge on her. Having worked in higher ed for most of my professional life, I can tell you that students bent on revenge take it out on the person they believe wronged them or on the institution that “crushed their dreams.” Wealthy foreign parents who want their student in an academic program will not waste their resources on revenge. They will buy their way into another program.

B – I thought about it since I had never ruled out the BB player because he was one of the last people to speak with her before she went missing, but you kind of “cleared” him in my mind when you asked the question, who would say “watch me make this disappear” or something to that effect. Did the band head straight for Charlotte after the show or stick around c’ville?

Wayne—it was reported that your seat was right by Morgans…did you see her in her seat? Do you know why she went outside? Ryan gave us some pretty good posts between you and him/her and some screen shots that raised alot of questions…care to explain? You don’t have to if you don’t want to but it raised alot of questions to all of us which in turn took us to the theories and actions that we took. Were you in the car that parked next to Morgans? Why did you have missed calls and a buddy ask you what happened to you during the concert? How did YOU get interviewed by Nancy Grace or jane Veldaz (I can’t remember which)?? How did that come about?
Maybe you can clear alot of this up for us and yes you are right, we are here to help find Morgan and thats all we want. Please if you can, clear up all the mis information…..

mom 3.0, chad: I was 3 classes ahead of Morgan in HS and am fb friends and acquaintances with one of the people in the OYE picture. I didn’t quite agree with the guess of OYE’s identity, then realize that I in fact don’t know her well enough to say, “oh no, that can’t be her” which made me reevaluate and research. If she is in fact OYE, let’s just say she’s “frontin” on fb and was also shown on the news, at the search. Hope I left enough crumbs.
I found this to be an interesting comment from Dr. Harrington,

I think some cases get attention because a person(s) of interest has been identified and this keeps the major media engaged. In Natalie Holloway’s case, it was in a foreign country, three suspects were under suspicion and the media would not let it go. I believe that he may be applying pressure to LE to name a person of interest. I also believe that he has hinted at who that person is.
I am, however, speculating.

Whether it be at a board room table or on this board, I become dismayed when a contributor swoops in to ridicule another contributor’s comments and perspective. That to me is counter-productive. The critical thinking process, is not lost on me. From a personal perspective, I welcome all discussion, including those of my own comments. If an idea or presentation of one is disagreed with, I hope it to be done without ridicule, as this is neither the time or the place. We all have the same goal in mind, and need to feed off one other. Unfortunately, we are in a position which is the absence of facts from LE. Therefore, all ideas, thinkings, and offers of information and research, IMO, are hugely welcomed, as is the manner in which they are received. Friendly humour between posters, IMO, is a welcomed respite and allows for a bit of needed fresh air.

I have made what can only be described as a less-than-savvy attempt to view your video links. Nothing is clearly indicating Morgan to my admittedly imprecise vision,(although it could be Morgan), and often I wonder if a few long-haired blondes are male fans; other blonde figures do not appear to have long enough hair. I’m not sure if this post will also get deleted or not, but It’s worth setting you all straight on who I am. You guys can can sit around and dissect my every action and spend hours upon hours trying to find me on the web, yet I’m the creepy one? What I’ve done is nothing that any of you wouldn’t have done. You’ve already proved that with these almost 2,000 post. People trying to add me as a friend on Facebook just to creep my profile and friends and some guy creating a fake female account in an attempt to play detective. Okay, I’m back to the HH scenario (which most everyone is skeptical about). Where exactly does this report come from? If BB players left parking area at 9:20ish, did one of them say, I left in my car to go back to my room, and I passed her on the bridge hitchhiking – I would still have to question the validity of this account.
If this was corroborated by another witness, why wouldn’t LE just say there was a passing motorist that witnessed her hitchhiking on the bridge at 9:30ish.
LE is not saying where the HH info came from. I think that’s where we need to look and then go from there.

Something about UVA has not been sitting well with from the start. Being the conglomerate entity they are, their actions or lack of actions are not surprising, however, they remain, IMO, unacceptable.
I commented on the other thread about the UVA “vortex” that the Harringtons must find themselves in. The UVA holdings are vast and wide,
including JPJ and surrounding lodgings. Their athletic teams are also holdings, hugely. As, of course, enrollment of students and support from alumni.
It is not lost on me what the disappearance of Morgan Harrington, if connected to any of their holdings, means from the legal and financial perspectives of UVA.
However, if UVA has impeded in any way the investigation and the finding of Morgan Harrington, they need to be held accountable.
Not down the road, but now. Right now.

The Harrington’s home (Roanoke)is directly in line with the route to the concert (and JMU). It is not backwards from the direction of the concert. From Blacksburg, where Morgan is in school,one would go directly through Roanoke to get to either JUM or Charlottesville. The trip to the concert isn’t so long…just over 2 1/2 hours from Blacksburg if you didn’t go to JMU.
Regarding her stay at her parent’s home Friday evening…it is still Morgan’s home. Just because a child is in college, with an apartment doesn’t mean they don’t still have a room at home. My college kids consider the house where they grew up home. It is where they keep their extra clothes and many personal things. It is where they live during the summer. It is home. I imagine this is the way it was or is, I hope, for Morgan.
Regarding the idea that Morgan’s disappearance could be related to a rejected med school applicant:
This is an interesting premise. Those med school spots are very competitive. The new Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine is only accepting 42 students for its initial class — out of 1,700-2,000 applications expected!
I don’t know if Dr. Harrington is involved in student selection, but according to this article from the Roanoke Times (note Oct. 16 date), the school was taking appliocations for another six weeks (end of November?) — so it doesn’t sound like anyone had been rejected at that point.
